[ID: a wide panel from Trigun Maximum. In the foreground, Vash and Knives as children are facing away from the reader, so their expressions cannot be seen. In the middle of the panel is a bank of computer screens. In the background are three large glass tubes, which the boys are looking up at. The biggest and centremost tube contains a shadowed figure that might have once been a child. The legs are the thin legs of a humanoid child, but above that is a dark mass of bulging, torn, distorted flesh. a left hand is floating in the same tank, apparently torn off from the rest of the body. The right arm, with enough of the flesh gone to expose what may be the bones, is floating in one of the side tubes. The other side tube is mostly obscured by Vash's shoulder, but not enough to hide that it contains a brain, with the eyeballs still attached. The body in the centre tube does seem to still have a head, but so shadowed that what its face may look like, or even if it still has a face, is impossible to tell. End ID.]
There she is. Everything about this is so gross and horrifying. Even in death, her body was afforded no dignity, no personhood; Rem does her best to keep the place clean and leaves flowers, but Tessla's body is still floating in a test tube, preserved and exposed in all that was done to her. God I HOPE she was already dead when her arms started falling off. I SUPER HOPE that she was already dead when her brain and eyeballs were extracted; the optic nerves being fully connected, they may have cut off the entire top half of her head to get it out relatively intact. Int he manga, at least, there's no indication that she's anything but very, very dead, but I gotta give Stampede for finding the one way this could possibly be made any worse by flashing an "ALIVE" across the screen. In the manga, I genuinely hope her body was incinerated when the ship went down. I hope her body finally got the freedom of cremation or decomposition.

Some solangelo HC bc The Sun and The Star ruined me in all the best ways
Ok but since it's now established that Nico is the most romantic of the two and wants to do things properly (the confession picnic in tsats) :
Whenever they're out of CHB on a date and they have Jules-Albert, Nico opens the door for Will
When they settle in New Rome and Will starts pre-med, he leaves coffee in thermos all over their flat. He also waits for Will when the blond has an exam. It becomes expected to see Nico waiting patiently next to the exam room with a cup of coffee and a cinnamon roll
Btw they both know the other's exact coffee/tea/drink order
He does bring Will to Paris and they illegally put a lock on Pont des Arts (the lovers' bridge) - but they also travel to other places. It's always a short trip bc monsters but napping together in a lavender's field is worth the risk. (To troll Will a little, he brings him in the Catacombs, both the touristic path and the illegal ones lol. Jokes on him, Will begs him to sneak them into the forbidden anatomical collection of Dupuytren's museum. They're both weirdos, what can I say)
Not that sweet but one time Will was listening to a cold case true-crime podcast and Nico absent-mindedly said he could always ask the victim if Will really wanted to know. Will wasn't on board with the idea, tho Nico simply shrugged and said the souls of Asphodel want to be heard. In the end Will convinced him to not bother the victim and make them relive a traumatic memory
He agonizes for days over what gift to give Will for his birthday even if Will repeats time and time again that he will be happy without a gift as long as he can spend the day with him (Gift giving vs Quality Time, choose your fighter). And for Christmas? He's a man on mission all year long: as soon as Will expresses interest in something, he carefully tucks the info in his head
The day he decides he's going to marry Will, he's shadow-traveling to wherever Naomi is to ask for her blessing
Then he prays to Apollo and before he can finish his prayer, a solar flare makes all of the electricity network explodes. Apollo is so overjoyed that a mini-heatwave takes root over CHB - and it's like, the middle of winter. At night, auroras can be seen in the sky. Apollo kids are Confusion™️
(Also he tells his father & stepmother of his plans beforehand. Hades keeps a straight face out of sheer willpower but the smile he gives Nico is wobbly. Persephone simply approves. She knows they would be a perfect match)
(Unbeknownst to Nico, Will has done the same thing because he knows his boyfriend likes being proper with stuff likes that. He hasn't gone down the Underworld bc he would need Orpheus' Doors but he prayed to both the King & Queen. Flowers bloomed on his windowsill. They were made of precious stones)

you go to medical anomaly museums out of morbid curiosity and to test your squeamishness, i go to medical anomaly museums to have a profound feeling of empathy and connection to my fellow human being across time and medical science. we are not the same.

hey what do you mean pocketcat had daans soul
#walked up the museum and pocketcat comes out w a wheelchair. says olivia got lonely and wanted to join the party. went in and fought the--#--mechanical dance. map still said there was a contestant in there so i tracked down pocketcat. hey man why do you have daans checkered--#--pants. kill him and get the blank soul. loot him and get daans loot. okay ??????#like pocketcat is an entirely separate entity right. rhers light affects only the people themselves stripping their humanity away and--#--supposedly revealing their true nature but i bought fuckin skin bibles from pocketcat AS daan. is this some sort of possession situation-#--did pocketcat somehow take daans body. WHY did he do that if so#daans blank soul and the whole idea there of him following the lead of authority does lend credence to that idea. a total imposition of--#--pocketcats essence on daans body (while hes got daans pants + loot he says the same exact lines as he did b4 night3) or something#then theres the whole angle where pocketcat is a creep and there is NO way daan does not have issues around sex after getting raised in--#--the cult of sylvain. head in my hands#also pocketcats fight when alone is a BITCH. dont have the salmonsnake rune so i only get a few free turns w the armguards--#--b4 he insists i choose smth else / goes after black kalev instead. i am keeping this stupid goat alive the entire game this time around#small aside. rlly interesting implication that olivia held out against the moonscorching long enough that it took direct interference--#--from pocketcat to turn. does that always happen or is it bc i didnt find a wheelchair for her + thus she spent most of her time in the--#--protected train cabin ?

do u ever see comments on posts and artwork full of effort and thought and passion etc and like. think about that post that talks about how people have the darndest time interacting with art without trying to crack a joke about it. is it really so boring to take someone's art seriously? is it necessary to demean someone's efforts, however unintended, for a 'joke' that consists of you being like "ooOOoOh how weird lol!!" like i don't want or mean to be a killjoy. but i think about that post a lot. like y do u need to add a punchline to something that doesn't need one. who asked u. why does it need to be funny. and u don't even have the decency to acknowledge its merit ;/
#wynn speaks#don't get me wrong i love being silly it's 1 of my most valued traits#but like. idk.#imagine seeing a genuinely cool animation of how a feathered dinosaur might look in a jurassic park-esque movie#and you comment that it looks like a big bird creepypasta. like rlly u couldn't keep that to urself?#sorry it's probably not that serious. i'm just extremely petty and that comment annoyed me and now i am in my petty mode#i went to check the artist out (they're on twitter @wobblyworks) and turns out dinosaurs is their Whole Thing#tbh the feathered dino animation reminds me of like#so i went to this science museum to chaperone my little sister n her classmates and they had this fun li'l thing#where a guy was in basically a full-body puppet which was a feathered t-rex#and they treated it like a 'real' t-rex while talking abt dino facts#they let kids throw a light ball at it to 'play' w it it was very cute#and like you could See the puppetteer u could see their legs and shoes and stuff#but even middle schoolers were able to look past that and see how genuinely fucking cool that was!#like yes they made jokes abt the sneakers and how a human crawled out the rex when the show was over and they had to put the suit away#but they were in so much genuine aw it was rlly cute. and it makes sense bc the suit was really well made! it had a moving mouth/jaw#and i wouldn't be surprised if it had a mechanism to blink its eyes#but i digress#i'm not saying that u can Only interact with art with complete seriousness. like jokes r fine#but idk. becomes a problem when that is the only way u interact with art. and also if you're unfunny and personally annoy me#and i'm not saying that person is the kind of person to do that. bc idk them. i'm just like#kind of annoyed with seeing repeat instances of comments that r like 'hmm this art... what if i made it about how funny i am!''#i say kind of but then i look up and there is an entire wall of tags that r just me griping about it and a detour about a dino puppet suit#sorry besties i just needed to get that out of my system ily <3#btw the dude's part of a project/kickstarter called 'forgotten bloodlines'#and it seems to be an animated documentary about prehistoric creatures#i recommend u check out the trailer it looks soo cool

The whole argument against displaying mummies and other human remains in museums is so weird bc people are totally obvious to the fact that they're projecting their own religious/cultural beliefs into these inanimate objects rather then respecting the religious beliefs of people who have been dead for thousands of years.

The only difference between lung and tongue is, if you blow air to lungs, they sigh and if you blow air to tongue, it repents.
- if you were an organ in my body, what would you be?

one of the things we discussed at some length in the cultural heritage & museum ethics module i took was the display & storage of human remains. it was at an irish uni but i'd say only about half the class were irish. and at one point we were all debating the ethics & usefulness of displaying human remains and a few people argued that it ought to continue because most people die in hospital now so for most people the first/only time they ever see human remains is in a museum. and every single irish person in the room went looked at them blankly and went "what the fuck are you talking about."
