christmas date with venti and you’re both wandering in this one area (a field, a park?) and it’s filled with christmas lights. 🎄🌟

modern au. possibly a continuation of this post. a little suggestive.

you may or may not have taken a lot of photos of him beaming at the colorful and glowing decorations. you’re already planning on printing them as soon as you get home to put it on your wall, and also posting it on your social media for some flexing.

(one of your fav picture by far is when he grabbed you by the hand and pulled you to this one, blue green lantern that seriously reminded you of him)

and while you’re busy admiring his pictures in your camera, you miss venti’s fond gaze. unbeknownst to you, he’s simply basking into the moment and capturing this wonderful memory for him to reminisce later on.

if you do catch him in the act, though, you tease him for this (even though you’re a little embarrassed as well. whenever venti’s attention is on you, you always feel flustered.)

“you’re staring.”

venti’s gaze turns even fonder. “yes.” he looks like he wants to say something more, but refrains on it.

before you know it, he approaches you slowly. venti lifts your chin up using his thumb and index finger, and closes his eyes.

you feel those amazing sparks once more—as if you were back in that same spot when you realized that you had fallen in love with him—when he finally locks his lips with yours.

+ i don’t know how to become sentimental anymore but time passed—estimating 10 mins—and you both still haven’t let go of each other.

children cheer and sing in the distance, filling the chilly air with more christmas spirit. the night goes on and yet instead of you two making your way to the highlight of this event – you two are occupied being intimate with one another.

there are muffled moans from venti. he tightens his hold on your waist, and you wrap your arms around his neck to bring him closer.

he parts away from you—just a little—and you can still feel his breath mingling with yours.

his eyes are hazy, clouded with so much love and passion (and maybe even something else) and his cheeks are coated a scarlet red – like the color of his scarf that he’s wearing. he murmurs, “we better go, love.”

you blink slowly, “why…?”

he chuckles and leans in to give you another peck on the lips—it only lasts for five seconds. “we have to watch the lights show, remember? the one you so desperately wanted to see.”

your eyes widen. oh. right. the lights show. yes. you’ve paid tickets for it – they were incredibly expensive—you’ve waited for it despite the hassle and frustrations—and yet… “i…i don’t wanna.” you avert your gaze as you admit, “…m… wanna continue kissing you more. wanna kiss you here.”

venti gawks at you for a brief moment, before he breaks into a fit of giggles. it still sounds beautiful. “oh, windblume, you really just can’t get enough of me…”

you hide your face in his chest. you can feel it vibrate when he giggles again. well, it’s true. what’s he saying is true. you can’t deny it. you just really can’t get enough of him.

“alright… once we get home, or maybe after the lights show, you can kiss me more…” venti suggests, and cards his fingers through your hair gently. tenderly. “or maybe even better… ehe, if you want, maybe we can go to the farthest side of the venue and as they showcase the lights…”

he dips his head down so you can hear his whisper properly. “you can kiss me. or i can kiss you.”

+ + bonus: blushing at the thought when it’s venti who guides you all the way to the venue and you can’t stop thinking abt what you guys are going to do once the event starts…

after you’re both seated, your hands are still intertwined and you don’t know what expression venti is making. it causes your heart to beat erratically in your chest and despite the ac on full blast, you feel hot.

when the lights turn off, and the lights show begin, you grip venti’s hand. he allows you to grip it.

he inches a little closer.

“windblume,” your stomach drops and you feel all your hairs stand up when his lips touch your ear. “kiss me.”

when you two get too far though, it’s venti who’s the responsible one this time and boops your nose. he reminds you to watch the lights show. even though there’s a part of him that didn’t want you to, since he’s in the same situation – he wants more. but the lights show is important to you, too.

(ah, you silly windblume.)

but… you don’t regret making out with him though, not when he’s blushing the whole time during your ride home.

damn I rly have another 4 weeks of holiday this year huh. I should start making some plans

Prob my fav fic in the fandom lololol. HUGE RECCOMMEND. It's about Johnny who gets roped into spending the holiday Christmas season with his , for the most part, very not so nice family, and Simon accompanies him. So much stuff happens in this fic and it's such a great character exploration of Simon and Johnny independently, but also as a couple, and just so much stuff happens in it lol again, HUGE RECOMMEND!!!

We'll make Death Proud to Take us - Literal_Satan

Fic where, it starts off really sweet where Simon goes to Scotland with Johnny to spend Christmas with him and his family, but things take a drastic turn when Soap's brother, a police officer/detective, gets a little too curious about mysterious Simon, and the story spirals from there. All the guys end up on this crazy goose chase tracking down some of the people who were involved in Roba's brainwashing operations. The fic gets v dark at times and deals with some very heavy trauma so beware, but it's SO. GOOD.

Dream a Little Dream - Angelicasdean

Again, one of my total fav fics in the fandom!! AU where Simon leaves the army to raise his nephew Joseph, who's the sole survivor of the Riley family massacre, and Johnny is one of the daycare teachers at the daycare where Simon takes Jo 🥺🥺👍👍

Pretend to love me like I do - FetteEule

Really cute fic of Simon who accompanied Johnny to Scotland for his sister's wedding, under the ruse they are dating. They are v much pining but not there yet. Features lots of really cute domestic moments and Simon being really sweet to Johnny's kid nephew 😭🧡

Something important - Anonymous

One of the fics that has me totally brainrotted rn. It's about Simon's who's been de-aged to 6 years old, and Price, Gaz and Soap all taking care of him and trying to figure out how he got turned, and how to turn him back! They all get tested on their abilities to care for a child, and unwillingly learn a lot of details about Simon's childhood they never knew. This summary doesn't do it justice tho, so I'd just recommend checking it out! Beware tho again, there is some dark childhood trauma stuff but there are warnings at the start of each chapter that contains references to it.

Seasons - StinglessWasp

In this fic every chapter is set during a different season and tells a unique sort of story/mission/interaction Soap and Ghost have. Definitely some v good angst&hurt/comfort stuffs too. Starts off pre-relationship, and explores their characters a lot! It's just really good HUGE reccommend lol.

What the Eyes Don't see - WhiplashRogue

One of my FAVESSSS! So the premise is like, Soap can actually see ghosts ever since he was a child (which most other people can't see and also don't believe in), and Ghost has 2 spirits attached to him that follow him around(Joseph, and Roach). The fic starts off pre relationship, and it mostly about Soap trying to learn more about these two spirits and discovering more about Ghost's past.

All that's said in the Low Light - Headlocket

Probably one of the most emotional I've ever read LMFAO. It's about Johnny, who receives a back & knee injury bad enough he gets discharged from the army, and is back in Scotland living with his parents as he recovers. He and Ghost lost contact a bit since the accident, and it's sort of a story of them reconnecting. This description doesn't do it justice, just read it, but it will emotionally destroy you lol

Time Loops Suck (series) - Enter_fand0m_reference00

The first installment of the fic takes the idea that Soap is stuck in a time loop during the alone mission! And all the optional dialogues and interactions in thE alone mission are separate attempts of his trying to survive the loops and rendez vous with Ghost. It's just sooo good!! And then there's a follow up fic where it deals with the mental aftermath of the loops and Ghost comforting soap through it, then there's 2 other installments of Simon who instead goes through a time loop! They are such great character explorations in how both Soap and Ghost experience the loops, and I whooleee heartedly reccommend.

Yellow Card - SkerryB

Soccer au fic!! It's so good! Simon is the captain of a soccer team Soap is drafted to as their new goalie. Simon has had a history with Soap before though, that he was the only goalie Simon could never score on! So that's how it starts, and it's just so good from there!! Simon's family are also alive in the fic and his nephew is adorable.

Ghost is down bad for strong Soap, the fic xD This was a fic Ghoulishone and I were paired together to work on for the Ghostsoap server reverse bang! They wrote the fic and I made some accompanying art. Just a cute fic of Soap having to pick up Ghost after he gets injured and some other shenanigans that ensues:)

SUCH A CUTE FIC!! The majority of the fic is these letter/pen pal exchanges between Ghost, and Soap's young niece Chloe...it's just. So. Good. And was written by a friend of mine too! BIG RECCOMMEND.

Some of the best Ghost whump I read lolll. Ghost is captured by some people with ties to Roba and tortured. Meanwhile Soap is on his way to rescue him, and eventually he does, and there's a lot of hurt and comfort. It's also a getting together fic. 🥺

Unspoken Love - Hammy101

( Super amazing oneshot. I feel I can't do this fic justice with any summary. Just read it. 🥺 It has decent Ghost whump AND domestic off duty cute ghost soap angsty stuff it's just one of my faves ever!!!!)

Except You, You can Stay - Iravaid

Really realistic, believable portrayal and expansion upon a lot of the key events that happen in the Ghost comics. From his childhood, to the mental aftermath of Roba, his family dying...it's heavy but really really good. And has a happier hopeful ending that's Ghost/Soap 🥺

Hat Trick of the Heart and the sequel Family, Gotta Love em - Librarian_FanFicFan

Absolutely am obsessed with these fics!!! It's an AU about Ghost who is recently discharged from the military due to injury, and on a flight back to London where he is seated next to Soap, a famous footballer/soccer player. Ghost doesn't know who he is tho, but they hit it off and exchange numbers. The second installment features Simon's family!!! And Tommy being dramatic and shocked over the fact his brother got the number of this famous sports player... SUPER CUTE IF YOU LIKE RILEY FAMILY STUFF.

he's so soft for this cosy season and he's legit down for any autumnal activity you can think of, if he finds the time, of course

he can be a bit of a romantic sometimes and, when he's walking during his lunch break after work and he feels the crisp autumn air on his skin and the dim-lit cafes where people huddle into for warmth, he can't help but be reminded of you

autumn is a comfort season for him, and he wants to spend it with you

but his favourite thing to do is snuggle up with his partner and binge-watch movies, on his days off.

fluffy blankets are important!! but he usually overheats and takes then his off, usually wrapping you up in his blanket and chuckling at the sight of you smothered in all these blankets.

will always ask if you're comfy and give you tons of pillows too. you basically have too much stuff on/around you because he wants to make sure you're the cosiest you can possibly be okay ??

when it comes to movies, channie is pretty open-minded. For instance, if you suggest watching something like a tim burton film, he's pretty much down for that.

the nightmare before christmas is his fave, btw :)

Darkwing Duck’s* Biggest Fans Haters

*As in the old tv show from the world of DuckTales (2017), not the superhero Drake Mallard assumes the identity of to fight evil

To fans like Drake Mallard and Launchpad McQuack, Darkwing Duck is the greatest piece of television history that helped shape their lives to become the ducks they are today thanks to its titular hero who never gave up despite the odds against him

To the rest of the world, Darkwing Duck was just another superhero show from the 90s that starred a problematic diva d-list actor that may or may not have died

Opinions are subjective of course, neither are 100% correct nor incorrect but I feel like when the fandom talks about Darkwing Duck it’s always about the characters that would also like the show. So why not flip the script a little? We’ll start small and work our way up to its biggest hater

Gosalyn Waddlemeyer:

“GOSALYN!?” You might be screaming at your monitor/phone to which I have to say:

“Yeah”

Again we are not talking about the Drake Mallard or his super identity here, but the tv show he and Launchpad are obsessed with. Because frankly, I bet Gosalyn loves doing all that superhero stuff with her adoptive dads. It’s a cool life to live!

Other than the fact that Drake is a huge nerd who INSISTS that Gosalyn do her “homework” and watch every episode of Darkwing Duck, read all the sacred texts (comic books), and playing the original Darkwing Duck video game on the original hardware so she won’t use the rewind or save features that modern games or ROMs have

Like all kids who have had an adult push their interests onto them, she has a little disdain for the show. But not a whole lot since she’s first on this list. I like to think she’s in the same boat as Dewey where she finds the show cheesy and doesn’t really hate it per say and sees why Drake and LP love the show. She even has a few guilty pleasure episodes

But one thing she doesn’t understand is why Drake and Launchpad insist on watching the Darkwing Duck Christmas Special every year when they’re both practicing Jews

Scrooge McDuck:

Yeah the old man can barely remember Drake, let alone the Darkguy Drake played in that movie he cancelled so I don’t really see Scrooge being a fan of the Masked Mallard. (No, not that Masked Mallard OG DuckTales fans)

If Scrooge did sit down and watch the show, he’d find it to be rather ridiculous if anything. Some vigilante running around dressed like The Spirit or The Shadow or whatever superhero kids are into these days getting slapped around and fighting back just doesn’t seem like his cup of tea

I like to think when Donald and Della were kids they watched Darkwing Duck at the mansion and Scrooge just walked by the room, looked at the TV for a few seconds, scoffed, and moved on with his life forgetting all about that nonsense his niece and nephew were watching

Louie Duck:

Honestly I always had this headcanon that Louie just isn’t a fan of superheroes. Like at all. He finds the stories all copy and paste, using all the cliches he hates from other genres and putting them in tights.

And don’t even get him started on superhero related adventures! If he sees a sky beam, Louie is running in the opposite direction of it. He’s not dealing with the many different diva supervillains out there trying to take over the world with cartoony extreme measures, he doesn’t wanna be around all that property damage

He does have a favorite superhero tho. Waddle Duck because he gave him a Pep once

Lena Sabrewing:

She thinks it’s lame.

Gandra Dee:

This is a no brainer for me. Gandra Dee made herself Darkwing Duck’s biggest hater the moment she heard the duck talk shit about Gizmoduck around Fenton who insisted she does not reveal his secret identity to Drake, because Drake is all he has left

Wanting to respect her boyfriend’s wishes, Gandra decides not to spill the beans but instead add more fuel to the fire by talking shit about Darkwing Duck

And she does not hold back

She’s not ashamed to talk shit on the show. It’s predictablity, it’s cheesiness, the plot holes, how lame it was for its own time, etc

It ain’t her childhood, she ain’t afraid to fight dirty either. She will bring up problematic episodes that depicted races in a not so good and stereotypical light (“It was the nineties! They were different times!” -Drake probably) such as the fact that in one episode Darkwing Duck called a group of Native Americans “primitive savages” or that a non-Asian actor played an Asian character in a sterotypcial manner and that how one of the characters names was “Duck Ling”(Okay but for real, all that shit did happen in the OG show.)

This of course frustrates Drake who is extra suspicious of Gandra ever since he saw her with Gizmoduck and writes her off as a blind fan girl who doesn’t know what she’s talking about

She’s pretty chill about not being into the show with Launchpad tho. He respects her opinions because he’s Launchpad and at the end of the day Gandra is still his friend

In the midst of Coruscant's bustling streets, a wintry ambiance enveloped the evening, with the air dense and chilly. Despite the approach of nightfall, the atmosphere remained aglow with the infectious spirit of the recent festive season.

And among the gleaming lights and shimmering tinsel adorning the street lamps, you navigated through the dusting of snow at your boots, determined yet cautious to evade any slips. Embracing yourself against the cold, you embarked on your homeward journey.

Grateful after being granted an early departure by your employer, you however found yourself thwarted by the weather-induced delay of your usual means of transport. So, opting to keep going on foot, you soon find yourself groaning as you fumble through your bag in search of your scarf and gloves. However, you quick to realise you had abandoned your gear at your workplace—a trek you were not planning to go back on.

Focused on avoiding a slip, your gaze remained fixed on the ground as you navigated through the snow and street. However, your brisk pace came to an abrupt halt when you collided with an unexpected figure, sending you to the ground.

“Kriff, sorry ma’am. Are you alright?” The voice sounded familiar, belonging to a Clone Trooper who had then extended a hand down to you.

As your eyes followed up past his hand and up his arm, the discomfort of the fall seemed to have dissipated as you grew captivated by the gaze of a remarkably handsome man.

Concerned, he inquired about your well-being, “Ma’am? Are you alright?” To which prompted a flush of embarrassment as you found yourself on the ground, staring up at him gormlessly.

“Yeah, I’m okay.” You assure him of your condition and swiftly accepted his offered hand. But as he hauls you up with ease, you think you’re grounded only to then encounter a second stumble.

Grasping onto the Clone for support, his protective arms encircled you, preventing another nasty fall as your feet slip from under you. "Easy there, I've got you," he chuckled warmly, his gaze softening as your eyes met.

You hadn't been one to believe in love at first sight, yet an undeniable connection sparked within you towards this man. Perhaps it was the enchanting ambiance of the twinkling lights and falling snow, or maybe it was the combination of his helpfulness after you both bumped into each other accidentally.

"Th-thanks," you stammered, a blend of the wintry air and nervousness affecting your speech. His gentle smile and reassuring gaze, however, calmed your racing thoughts.

Concerned for your well-being, he asked softly, releasing his hold on you but remaining ready to assist if needed. "Didn't hurt yourself, did you?"

"No," you replied, shaking your head, "as long as my head is still firmly attached, I'm good."

His chuckle resonated warmly and you don’t know why, but you felt like you could read this man. To which, you had hoped he wanted to get to know you more. And he did.

"The name's Tup," he introduced, extending his hand once more. You gladly slipped your hand back into his, reciprocating with your name. "It's nice to meet you."

"And you, though it would've been better under different circumstances," he remarked subtly, gesturing toward your snow-dusted attire, prompting a sheepish smile from you.

Before you could respond, he swiftly and apologetically interrupted, asking, "Don't suppose you would like to go for a drink with me?" Your eyes widened in surprise, mirroring his apparent astonishment at his own impromptu invitation.

"Yeah," you replied simply, accompanied by a toothy grin.

"Yeah?" His face lifted, his eyes lighting up in response.

"I could really do with a warm drink.”

As you both hurriedly sought refuge from the cold, the tempting aroma of rich hot chocolate filled the air. Smiling at the satisfying hum that escaped your throat, Tup guided you to a pop-up market stall, where he procured steaming mugs of the comforting beverage before finding a place to sit.

"I have to admit," you began, gently blowing the steam off your mug, "I certainly didn't expect something like this to happen anytime soon. It's basically a cliche."

He looked at you with confusion, cradling his mug in his hands. "I don't quite catch on?"

You chuckled softly. "Well, in most cheesy romantic holomovies I've seen, this is basically a 'meet cute.' We collided, you, fortunately, happen to be handsome and offer a helping hand, and instead of parting ways, you asked me for a drink." Your eyes sparkled mischievously. "Or I could be totally wrong."

"N-No, no," he replied quickly, a hint of warmth coloring his neck. "I suppose when you put it like that, it is a cliche. But... I'll take it you like that kind of thing?" He gestured to the two of you enjoying a drink, sitting up a little straight to exude confidence.

"I really do," you replied softly, savoring a sip of your drink. "Mmm, this is lovely. Thank you, Tup."

The way you said his name made Tup feel as if a weight had been lifted off his shoulders. "You're welcome."

Engaged in a quiet yet pleasant conversation, you both delved into each other's lives and aspirations. Classic questions about favourite colours, the stories behind tattoos, and alternate career paths flowed naturally.

From your time with Tup, you gathered that he was kind and had a penchant for playful yet rather terrible flirting. You observed him attempting to find a relaxed posture—arms shifting on and off the table, legs crossing and uncrossing, fingers nervously tapping against the mug. Even his compliments emerged more as questions than statements. Regardless, you found joy in his company.

Feeling Tup's nervous energy, you decided to discreetly guide him into a more comfortable interaction. Despite the cold, you feigned a fake shiver, cupping your hands over your mouth and blowing on your fingers. "Is it me, or did it get colder?" you remarked inconspicuously. Tup wasted no time reaching across the table, gently taking your hands in his.

"Your hands are cold," he observed with a frown, expressing a wish for spare gloves, "let me warm them up." His charming smile resonated, making your heart skip a beat. He closed his hand over yours, gently rubbing them to provide warmth. You felt bashful that your subtle hint worked, relieved that he didn't seem to mind holding your hands.

Engaged in a wholesome conversation, both of you seemingly oblivious to the unspoken connection formed through the idle caress of each other's hands, the impending departure lingered as the unspoken Bantha in the room.

Hours passed without notice, Tup surpassing his designated time to be back at the barracks. When you mentioned it was time for you to head back due to an early start, he stood up, taking your hand in his. "I'll walk you home," he declared, a genuine warmth in his eyes that mirrored the connection you both shared throughout the evening.

As Tup walked you home through the now quiet and serene streets of Coruscant, a comfortable silence settled between you. The city's festive lights cast a gentle glow, creating a magical atmosphere that mirrored the odd but welcome enchantment you felt in each other's company.

As you reached your destination, the realisation that the night was coming to an end tugged at both of you. Tup hesitated before speaking, "I had a wonderful time tonight."

You smiled, expressing your agreement. "Me too. It was unexpected but definitely a highlight."

He chuckled softly. "Fate has a way of bringing people together in the most surprising moments."

It had been a long time since you had been in the Christmas spirit. Christmas had lost its charm to you over the years; maybe because you were no longer a kid, or maybe it was because life became too busy for you to really enjoy Christmas like you once did.

You and your friends - Sam, Colby, and Kat - had all felt the same way. And you all decided that this year, you would make the holidays count.

Starting from Thanksgiving, you all made plans for at least once a week to do something that would put you in the Christmas spirit. One weekend you all spent time decorating the house. Another week you made gingerbread houses. You and Kat even went out Christmas shopping to buy presents for the boys (and yourselves). And slowly, as the weeks grew closer and closer to Christmas, you could feel yourself actually start to feel.... happy.

There was one thing you wanted for Christmas, though. And you knew you were never going to get it.

You hated admitted it, but you had always wanted to be kissed under the mistletoe. You knew it was cheesy and was just a silly tradition, but something about it always seemed so romantic to you. You daydreamed about it, smiling at the thought of it happening, but knew it wasn't going to come true. For one thing, there was no mistletoe in your house. And for another, you didn't really have a significant other to do said kissing with.

But at least you weren't alone in that department. You had Colby.

Colby and you had grown close over the years, for one reason or another. Whether it was because you were always paired up during investigations when it would just be the four of you, or maybe it was because you two were very similar in personality. You guys got along well and enjoyed being around one another. He knew you were someone he could always lean on, and you knew the same back. And maybe that spark, that connection, is what led you to having just the tiniest crush on him.

What can you say? A man who treated you respectfully and was attractive surprisingly caught your eye.

But you tried not to think of that during the holidays, especially as Christmas grew closer. You wanted this time to feel normal, and a crush was just not going to help that. So, you pushed whatever feelings you had to the back of your mind. Every week you all would do something Christmas-y together, and you didn't want to screw it up by getting your feelings involved.

Secretly, you couldn't help but notice things about Colby more and more as time grew closer to the 25th. Every time you saw him, you swore his eyes were somehow bluer than before, even more so in the light. And his smile? Oh lord, his smile was to die for, especially when his dimples would appear. His laugh was really cute; kind of quiet, but somehow you always caught it under everyone else's laugh. He always smelled really nice, a mix of his cologne and body wash would intoxicate you every time he was around. You could feel the heat of his skin radiate off of him when he was close to you, your hands aching to touch him.

Oh God, you were in love with Colby. The unattainable man.

Of course, this realization came to you on the 24th, and the next day - no matter what you were doing - all you could think about was Colby. Your eyes studied him throughout the morning as you guys exchanged gifts and had breakfast. Later, you guys relaxed on the couch and watched a couple holiday movies. All the classics. Colby sat near you, so it wasn't hard for your gaze to fall from the movie to him everyone so often. Your heart sped up as he leaned in close to you during one of the movies, whispering to you something funny. And finally, as night grew closer, some friends came over to celebrate and have dinner. You sat across from Colby, talking to him every so often.

You couldn't help but notice how weirdly sad you were. Everyone around you seemed happy, and you did everything that you had thought would make you happy on this day. But somehow... your heart still felt a little empty. Maybe Christmas just wasn't supposed to be the same as you got older.

You stepped away from the little party being thrown after dinner, deciding to stay in the kitchen and clean up while everyone went to the front/music room area. You gulped down the last bit of your wine, washing out your glass right after. You scrapped food off some of the plates, rinsing them and putting them in the dishwasher.

"Do you need some help?"

Your body froze at the sound of Colby's voice. You had to take a deep breath before responding to him, trying to calm your nerves.

You picked your head up, glancing at him quickly. "No, I'm good. Thanks though."

"Let me guess, you wanted to get away from everyone?" He questioned, stepping into the kitchen.

You hummed. "You know me too well."

"Well, I'm also doing the same thing as you so... great minds think alike." Colby smirked.

You nodded your head, continuing to put the dishes away.

He continued, leaning against the counter by you. "The dinner was really good. Your handmade biscuits were amazing."

"Thank you. The mashed potatoes you made were delicious." You added.

"Not gonna lie, I was a bit concerned I was somehow gonna screw them up." He admitted.

You giggled. "How? It's only mashed potatoes."

"You'd be surprised how terrible of a cook I can be when I'm not trying. Why do you think I postmates every day?" He asked.

"Oh I thought that was because you're lazy." You quipped, shutting the dishwasher.

Colby gasped, feigning hurt. "Hey, don't get smart with me."

You pursed your lips, "Or what? What are you gonna do?"

He stepped up to you jokingly, his chest brushing yours, "I might have to-"

"Hey, do you know if we have anymore-?"

Kat stopped, raising an eyebrow at the two of you. You glanced back at Colby and realized just how close he had gotten to you. You held your breath, a rush of heat spreading across your cheeks.

"D-Do we have anymore what?" You sputtered, putting some distance between you and Colby.

"Um... wine. We already finished the bottle I took out there." Kat mentioned.

"Yeah, there's one more in the fridge. Let me get it." You stepped back, opening the fridge and grabbing it. The coolness of the bottle felt good against your skin, which felt extra warm for some reason.

"Here you go." You muttered.

"Thanks. Oh, by the way, you might want to look up." Kat pointed.

You scrunched your eyebrows together, "What?"

You and Colby looked up, and your heart skipped a beat at the sight. Mistletoe hung above you two, just on the light. Somehow, you hadn't noticed it all this time.

Your voice was just above a whisper, your eyes still glued to the mistletoe. "When did you-?"

"Last night. You two better kiss, it's bad luck to not!" Kat winked, walking away.

If you didn't know any better, you would swear Kat knew you liked Colby.

Colby spoke finally, his eyes drifting back down to you. "Well..."

You immediately chimed in, the words falling out of your mouth hastily. "We don't have to kiss if you don't wanna. I mean, don't feel comfortable doing it."

"No I don't mind-" Colby started.

"I get it would be really weird to do it, since we're friends and all." You responded, not even hearing him.

He replied. "Yeah I guess, but I don't-"

You cut him off. "Seriously, we shouldn't do it, even if it might bring us bad-

"Y/N." Colby stated.

"Yes?" You asked.

"Kiss me." He uttered.

You blinked multiple times. "W-What?"

"Kiss me. Unless you want me to kiss you first." He sassed.

You blushed instantly. "Colby..."

"It's tradition, and Kat's right. We wouldn't want to catch any bad luck." He stared at you for a moment, then whispered teasingly, "It's just one kiss."

You took a breath, your mouth suddenly dry. "Okay."

He smiled lightly, leaning in slowly. You closed your eyes just as his lips touched yours. Time felt frozen, like for one moment you could actually control it. You imagined staying like this forever. You could feel Colby's body against yours, your fingers brushing his. You felt like you were on fire, like all the energy in the room was in your body.

His lips were so soft, and the kiss itself was as sweet as candy. It was all you had hoped for and more.

So... you were definitely in love with Colby.

He pulled away, his eyes fluttering for a second. He swallowed, pulling himself together.

"Merry Christmas, Y/N." He murmured.

You bit your lip, "Merry Christmas, Colby."

Maybe Christmas could feel the same once again after all.

this was a prject for art class where we had to draw what we wanted for christmas, got the highest grade on it!

i was planning to post this earlier but i kinda fell asleep, my sleep schedule is absolute bs at this point but im tryna work on it, kinda.

oh yeah the drawing, gonna talk abt it now, its based on that one kirby twitter image they posted for christmas, i think it was the 2018 one, not sure rn. dedede just put on a belt, thats it, he already looks like santa, bandee is all in spirit with an elf costume and meta had to be begged by bandee to at least put something holiday related on.

i also finished magolor epilogue today at like, 4 am in like 4 or 5 hours and maaannn i loved it, i want to replay it from scratch but i dont wanna delete my save data nor have to replay all of story mode in another save file. i have all stages platinum except hydriath, who is on gold (i swear i'll get you one day!) no matter how i try i can never keep my combo long enough for platinum. when i finished it, i felt kinda empty ngl i wanted more, but didnt feel like trying extra mode or doing the challenges, or really anything i had left to do in krtdldlx

so i checked my ao3 cuz it had been a week since i had and remembered that i had a draft i wanted to post that i only had there

miss rey is having a sick day and she's gonna spend it sending you kny modern au christmas thoughts 😌 working in this goddamn elementary school has gotten me into the spirit for the first time in years and i need to embrace this while it lasts.

growing up sanemi never really got anything big for christmas, over the course of november he mostly necessities like new shoes when his old ones didn't fit anymore or a winter jacket and then on actual christmas day maybe a dvd or something handmade. it got a little better once he was old enough to do parttime jobs but even then he used most of his earnings to get something nice for his siblings. when it came to sanemi money was always tight and he was okay with that if it meant genya or the others could get something out of it. and when he got older and his friend group started to give each other christmas presents, the first time they'd come up to him like "we got you something" he'd be like "... why would you do that 🤨" - literally the second kanae hears that he never really got nice christmas presents you KNOW she's dedicating eight months of the year to plan something for him and it makes him cry every single time.

with tengen it's the same thing but sort of in the other direction. got everything he never wanted for christmas every year which was annoying and draining and just felt so detached and performative. the first time makio hands him a box with self made cookies and says "i'm sorry, i would've bought you something but i didn't find anything you'd like" he almost proposes on the spot because it just feels so great to have people actually put thought into their gifts for him and not just grab the shiniest looking thing from a shelf. (not that he doesn't love getting shiny things but only if it's a shiny thing that the person picked specifically because they thought he'd like it)

obanai is the grinch for exactly however long it takes him to discover that mitsuri loves christmas more than anything. once he's a bit more open to the idea he also discovers that it's actually fun to exchange gifts and spend time together during the holidays (who can blame him, he never had that prior to going to university) and he gets really into it. people are always surprised by his great gift giving skills but it really pays off to sit in the corner and listen in on conversations quietly, he really picks up on a lot of wishes that way and when december rolls around he just knows what everyone wants or needs. on their first christmas together mitsuri gives him a little scarf she made and says "so kaburamaru doesn't get sick" and obanai decides right then and there that christmas is his favorite holiday of the year. (ONLY christmas eve and christmas day though and ONLY for exchanging gifts and spending time together, all the blinking lights and santa merch and mariah carey can go to hell)

tanjiro is always all over the place during christmas time because there's just so much to do and so much to take care of and oh son of a monkey i have to go gift shopping and oh fudge what am i gonna cook and fiddlesticks i forgot to put the tree up and GOD FUCKING DAMNIT INOSUKE STOP EATING THE ADVENT WREATH - it's a lot. so on actual christmas day he's usually exhausted and his friends have to tie him to his seat so he doesn't continue to run around and try to do everything for everyone. he still loves it tho, he's always participating in social projects around that time as well and getting gifts for homeless people, children in poverty and volunteering to dress up and collect kids' wish lists in hospitals etc.

sabito on the other hand grew to despise christmas because of his job at the elementary school. it's just too much. all the music and all the glitter and the all the christmas shows he has to attend (and organize!), the baking and crafting and reading christmas stories and looking out so children don't burn themselves with the candles and putting up that dusty old tinsel that makes his eyes water and pretending that santa is real, christmas is the bane of his existence. of course he gets his loved ones some gifts and maybe goes out to eat with them but once that's done he immediately goes home and sleeps through til new year's eve. everybody knows not to say merry christmas until sabito has left because one time they all said it when they met up during the holidays and when they got to sabito he went "if i have to say that one more time i'm gonna kill each and every one of you and then myself" and now they just do it when he's not around.

that's all the thoughts i have for now, sorry for barging in with this long ass ask like that 💀 stay hydrated, i send you a fluffy blanket and a kiss on the forehead but with a mask so you don't catch my cough :3

IJKRKJERJEJKRJ AHHHHHHH THESE ARE FREAKING DELIGHTFUL! Sanemi prioritizing his siblings and necessities is such a canon thing he'd do; and Kanae making it her life's mission to give him a good christmas is so KJEJJREKJREJ She's the queen of gifting- she knows everyone's taste and preferences and while it takes a while to get any info out of him, she'll find him something special. He's always so touched by it and makes it a point to do the same for her- saving up to get her one of those nice hair ornaments or dedicating any free time he has to making her something from scratch. He is a jack of no trades, but the effort is there and seeing her genuinely love it is the best gift to him.

Oh my god YES! I feel like Tengen doesn't really like christmas all that much? Mainly like you said, gifts always felt draining and preformative and also, despite growing up in a large family, maybe it didn't feel like a loving home? (Going a little into his canon background there) Like- his family held christmas parties every year but gifts were more like bragging rights over their guests vs actual care and thoughtfulness. Christmas with the girls is so much more special to him cause everything feels like they really thought of one another. (Also Tengen liking shiny things makes me laugh- he's like a crow ajerkjajekraejrj)

KLJERKJLEJKLRJKERJ OBANAI HELP! Grinch 363 days a year- the last two it fades away, especially with Mitsuri. He's a gift giving god; rivaling Kanae with his observation skills and such. You know he's always dressing Kaburamaru in his little scarf during the colder months- even when it starts to get a little worn down. (Mitsuri makes it her new tradition to make him a scarf every year after that.) They'd be the couple sneaking kisses under the mistletoe throughout the party.

TANJIRO YES! He's a little busy bee running about during December; baking treats and keeping Inosuke off the advent wreath (that's freaking hilarious oh my god) and volunteering and just- all of it! Christmas rolls around and he's so tired he can't even keep his eyes open for a good few hours into the day. It's his little reward for working so hard; a nice break on the big day ajerjaejarj

Sabito hating christmas is a whole mood akjekjrakjejkrajkerja He might have liked it at one point, but after working at an elementary school and being overdosed with the holiday spirit he is so burned out jareajreajjaerjkeajr (NOT HIM QUOTING ROSE KLJWJRKEJRJEJR) Of course he's gonna keep the vibes up for the children and his love ones but when the day is done he's hibernating with a heated blanket ajkaerjae

Akaza wins ugly christmas sweater every year; he has so many cause he unironically thinks they're cute (and they keep him nice and toasty during the cold months). He gets matching ones for his favorite/only nephew Rui; they take pictures every year and have a whole album dedicated to it.

Douma is a pro figure skater without the pro part; good luck keeping him off the ice this season, especially if you put on "Theme of King JJ"; he also sings christmas songs non-stop and while he has a nice voice and can carry a tune, there comes a time when someone's about to shout "STOP SINGING ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS, IT'S FREAKING JANUARY!"

Zenitsu is absolutely the one to plan a trip to a warmer part of the world during winter; he cannot stand the cold whatsoever and saves up every year to escape for a week or two. If it happens to fall during Christmas, he facetimes everyone with a drink in hand on the beach wearing pineapple sunglasses he bought at the souvenir shop like the absolute tourist he is.

I NEED to know all about Fred dragging fp to church every Christmas I need to know how it first came up and I also need to know about fp having to sit through service and behaving himself for however many hours 😂

OKAYYYY! So clearly the Andrews grew up vaguely religious if artie was making them say grace every Thanksgiving and I just think Christmas eve church service would have been really important to fred as a kid and of course the things that were important to him as a kid he carries in his heart forever.. Like obviously Christmas spirit is a huge thing with fred, hes big into the songs and the sense of community and the spirit of goodwill and peace on earth everlasting love etc... So even if he doesn't regularly go to church or practice religion as an adult I can see him attending on Christmas eve bc he's such a nostalgic person and that's the one day a year even the slackers go to church yknow it's just a very nice ritual for him that reminds him of his childhood and his family and makes him feel good

But then you have fp who obviously never had this relationship with church and maybe fred had to adjust to that, maybe when they were kids he tried to take him a few times with the best of intentions cuz he wanted fp to feel safe and welcome and peaceful and see how nice it was and fp liked being with fred but overall it was scary and he didn't feel comfortable there and fred had to accept that not everyone would feel like he did...

So later on when they're dating and married fred just would go alone on Christmas eve every year and they'd do stuff together after but eventually fp felt bad that this was something so important to fred that he wouldn't do with him so maybe he mentioned coming with fred one year and fred got really excited and then you know fp couldn't back out.... And maybe in subsequent years when it wasn't as heavy a subject there was some light begging on freds part 😂 but eventually it just became about fp doing this with his husband cuz he loves him and wants to show up for him... even if it sucks.. Tho because he's with fred he does kind of understand the spirit of it a little more... But don't get me wrong he is absolutely fidgeting and making dumb jokes the entire time 😂 and fred has to keep pinching him and poking him and telling him to behave which unfortunately activates fps brat instinct and makes it worse 😂

If it helps my church growing up had Christmas eve services that were usually less than an hour long so fp can sit still for 50 minutes I believe in him ❤️

From @sentryskyhawk we got The Soldier’s First Shot - the bar where Privates and Last Year of Military Academy Cadets go to. Pretty low stakes nothing fancy but the folks who go there feel super important because this means they really made it they're soldiers so they're hot shit. This is the type of bar where Rebecca Catalina would go to in the beginning of her career to look for potential mates. This is the bar where Roy Mustang got absolutely fucking plastered because he and Maes were celebrating graduating the Academy. (This bar is in Central City). Kimblee and Lode would go here too. Honestly everyone who ever went to the CC MA and graduated went here to celebrate becoming a Private.

Super infamous cocktail Ethanol Blast was a rite of passage here. If you survived that you could survive anything the Military had in store for you.

From @kimbleefucker we got a really really really classy bar restaurant called Gloria. This is the place you can only get into if a) you're the Fuhrer President or b) you know the owners and they owe you a kidney

Gracia's family boasts coming here often. They only went twice. The Armstrongs go here often.

From @xathira The Last Bullet - super sad fucking bar. It tried to be peppy and bring in soldiers as customers but it somehow turned into the bar where widows and widowers come. Business has never been better. Gonna soon become Gracia's favourite bar eyyy ;)))

Swan Dive- this is just a nice swanky bar for civilians. Lots of good bands play here. Really great atmosphere. The mascot is actually a goose. Nobody dares to tell the owner tho. If she thinks it's a Swan then it's a Swan.

Some alchemy oriented bars that cater to alchemists called Spiritus vini and Aqua vitae from @doyouknowhowtowaltz - you go inside any bar like this and you are very close to exiting with a tattoo of some kind. You just better hope it's not an alchemy array. Think of it as the equivalent of those bars where they hold those painful modern poetry nights but it's all about alchemy. You would think these bars would try and get State Alchemists to come here, but you would be wrong because those types of alchemists are sell outs. Roy Mustang is banned from Aqua Vitae. Kimblee and Spiritus Vini owners have beef because of improper alchemy practises.

Izumi and Sig come here to drink when they come to CC. Really good wine and spirits.

Lady's Garter Belt - this is the bar Christmas runs. Name up to change but I want something scandalous.

Veteran's First Drink- used to be THE bar of Amestris if you're a soldier. Back in the day it used to even be THE THE BAR. (in a legal dispute with the Deserters Last Drink)

Deserter's Last Drink - if the VFD puts up a sign in their window saying Happy Veterans Day, the DLD will put up a sign listing the death toll of Ishval, if the VFD puts up a sign saying 25% off for special drinks, the DLD will pull up with a 40% off sign, if the VFD says happy birthday to the Fuhrer, the DLD will put up a graph of all the skirmishes Amestris has been a part of since Bradley became Fuhrer. The DLD opened up directly across from the VFD)

The Three Stripes @doyouknowhowtowaltz courtesy for the name.- the original VFD owners who opened up a new bar because they didn't want to deal with Karl's bullshit. Became the NEW hot bar in Amestris for soldiers if only because it moved away from where the DLD is. They have something called Soldier Bingo. You don't want to know what happens if you win at soldier bingo.

Streber - wire puzzle, to fit with his love of inventing. When Streber attempts to take an item out, he will be presented with a mess of wires he needs to connect to the right nodes. When solved, he gets the item

Radford - movie trivia. Simple enough, though has comedic potential if someone else tries to use it and is immediately stumped by some b-movie horror knowledge only Radford knows

Ross - I feel like Ross would go for something straightforward, like Array. However if he or his dad are musicians I could see him having a Simon Says-like Modus where the card plays a string of notes and Ross has to copy them back

Roy - idk why but I see him having something money-related, probably bought by his parents. My idea is that he can "deposit" items freely, but to take them out he needs to either pay for it with money or an item of equal or greater value to the item he wants to take out (there'd be an "eject all" button that spits out both the items and any deposited money so it's not like, completely impossible to access anything). Roy swaps this out with a far less convoluted Modus the first chance he gets lol

Robert - idk why but I feel like he'd go for one of the board game ones? Like Jenga or Operation. Something simple, but fun

Speaking of the board game Modi... I imagine similar to Jade's grandpa, Pump and Susie's parents got them a bunch of board game Modi for Christmas, and the two just picked their favorites

Susie - Pictionary. Easy enough and fits with her love of art, even if it's a bit obtuse at times

Pump - Ouija. Works like Aradia's, just in English. Due to his connection to Heir of Light Skid, to Eyes, or both, the spirits usually end up giving him what he wants, making it a relatively easy Modus for him to use

Skid - I had a bit of trouble coming up with something for Skid, because I wanted to have it be spook-related in some way while not just giving him another Ouija board. I then realized... Maze Game Modus! Skid drags a dot through a maze, and when he reaches the end he gets his item. If he fails the maze a loud scream will play, and sometimes he intentionally fails just to hear it. It's based off the Scary Maze Game :>

Sometimes Skid and Pump also swap Modi for fun!

I couldn't come up with anything for Kevin or Ethan, unfortunately. Maybe Kevin could have like a gumball or capsule machine Modus, where he turns a crank and gets a random item, but I have no idea what to do for Ethan

i think kevin would prolly have an array modus actually, eventually his terrible luck using any fun-ish modus would get the best of him i think ;u; maybe he'd get the gumball one back postgame but its just not practical when you have the worst luck on in paradox space lol

ethan... hm. not really sure what he'd use, prolly something spooky. maybe something based on excavation? he canonically collects bones in the forest so it kinda fits. like. big block o dirt/stone wtvr pops out and he has to break it open. maybe he'd have some sort of tool to help with that (chiselkind?) in his strife deck just to be safe

ross would prolly have a music-based modus, yeah. i made one up kinda recently (its what i would use lol), melody modus! each item is assigned a short tune which you have to repeat to get something out. you get to pick the tune, tho. i can see him using video game songs for it - zelda theme, green hill zone, white space... megalovania-

rob could get the memory modus, i think hed be good at that one

roy would prolly end up borrowing a spare modus from susie - prolly jenga modus, seems abt right

Idk if anyone has done this yet or thought about it, but imagine the choir in a zombie apocalypse

Ricky has played COD: Zombies but man's disabled so sadly can't pew pew the undead - he can give tips and advice tho and signs them to the group, which is an advantage bc quiet communication so the zoobies can't hear them

(bonus to that: they all sign to each other bc quiet communication and Penny & Ricky were the ones to teach the rest of the choir)

Mischa has also played COD: Zombies and knows all the gun types, but he's hopeless at actually shooting a gun accurately, so fisticuffs it is. He might be terrified but this man ain't gonna show it bc he's the protector of the group and will do anything to keep them alive or die trying

Penny is a badass, nuff said.

but to elaborate: she's the one going around to make sure everyone is alright and will sock any zoobie in the face that dares show up to scare her friends, either with a spade or just straight up her own fist, Penny is the scary, stoic, reliable protector #2: Electric Boogaloo

Penny is Mischa's protector lol

Ocean tries to be the leader of the group but that ultimately falls to Penny, so she becomes the motivator instead and tries to keep spirits up during this literal nightmare

girl is panicking like mad tho, so the choir do their best to cheer her up too and help her feel safe

Constance is our ball of nervous sunshine who's here spitballing random facts that have nothing to do with the situation but she's just trying to not focus on the undead outside, her and Ricky just ramble together when they can

Noel has no idea wtf is going on, but he's doing his best

he won't be using a gun very often but has one just in case, he does like throwing knives at the zombies tho and is surprisingly good at it

Noel also a sneaky boi so he can get in and out of places quite well

Ocean is better at that tho bc she smaller and quieter, but Noel is more up for a risk than Ocean is

is Penny quoting random vines at random times? yes, yes she is

and Mischa is joining in, he is the ultimate hype man

do they quietly sing out of fear so that they can all try to maintain some kind of togetherness and normalcy? yes, yes they do, bc they're a choir family unit so of course they're gonna sing quietly around a campfire in an abandoned building while the undead groan and scream and wander around outside

I just imagine the setting to be either like in Anna and the Apocalypse (which is a fun Christmas musical film about zombies with Anna Kendrick) or to be straight up COD: Zombies with this randomly teleporting weapons box that shoots up a beam of blue light, so Ricky and Mischa get super excited until Constance opens the box and gets Samantha's teddy bear so it teleports away again and they have to find it, but Ricky would totally get a Ray Gun mk II before then and pass it to Penny so she can be even more of a Straight Up Badass™

If it is set like COD: Zombies, then:-

Karnak is the announcer, just this spooky voice in their heads that gives them sarcastic pointers like "oh yeah, you can go over there if you really fancy getting jumped by five undead mcdonalds workers who were uninspired teens and want to bite your head off, yeah you could do that...or maybe you could instead, oh I dunno, GO FIND SOME FUCKING WEAPONS TO DEFEND YOURSELVES!" and then heaves a sigh whenever they pick up a Perk-A-Cola after the jingle goes off and mutters "you have no idea how annoying those jingles are, do you?"

and for the drops that you sometimes get, instead of shouting/screaming them like Samantha or Richtofen, he just sounds so bored like when he said "no tradesies" to Ocean

the contrast tho, between Richtofen's screamed "CARPENTER" and Karnak's "carpenter, ig" XD
