This rec list is for @annakendricks who sent an ask about Christmas reads and also dedicated to @lettersbyelise for supporting this idea 💜 Despite the winter blues, December will always lighten up my mood with the holiday spirit. This month has been pretty hectic for me but I can’t wait to get some time off and indulge my fave Christmassy rereads. Come and join me if you like! The Hogwarts School for the Gifted and Supernatural had classes year-round, but the dormitories emptied out regularly on holidays as if the students were suddenly becoming allergic to the walls. Fave ships: At this very moment, I've been really into Tav/Astarion, Tav/Karlach and I just started writing my Tav/Astarion/Karlach fic! I'm so stupidly excited about the OT3 fic, because Karlach is just SO exasperated with Petra and Astarion being completely unable to have one single adult conversation about their feelings. Like, they could have been making out and cuddling weeks before they sort their shit out in this universe.

I'm sort of perma-feral for Adrien Victus/Tullia Victus, and Castis Vakarian/Cecilia Vakarian - gotta give some love to my DILFs. 💜

Favorite color: Blue and purple - don't make me choose between them!

Song stuck in my head: I'm extremely on-brand at the moment and have A Letter To Georgia by The Airborne Toxic Event stuck in my head. Been feeling melancholy and it sort of fits my current frame of mind.

Favorite food: I'm really into charcuterie right now, so we'll go with that!

Last song listened to: Hero by Family of the Year. I was doing some writing over my lunch hour and I feel like that song has a real Astarion vibe to it, so I listen to it often while working on my current BG3 WIPs.

Last tv show/movie: My partner and I are watching the fourth season of Barry at the moment. We just finished White Lotus!

Spicy/sweet/savory?: I love all three so hard, so this is a mean question, but gun to my head I gotta go with sweet.

Currently reading: I've got A Cold and Unfamiliar Home by @thetrashbagswasteland on my to-read list at the moment! I'm reading Perfect Slaughter by Imagineitdear as well - perfect for anyone who is looking for a heavy read to cry the cobwebs out.

Last thing I googled: "Ivy hedge" because I was trying to come up with an OCs last name and my brown-thumbed ass wanted to make sure the name I had in mind would actually make sense.

I was tagged in this lovely game by @lazybug16 and @bluedalahorse - it was so much fun seeing both your 'moodboards'! 💜

The idea is to pick a favourite movie, character, animal, drink, song, season, book, colour, and hobby and present them as pictures.

I'll put a list/explanation below, but it's going to be long, so let's do the no-pressure tags first: I think most people have been tagged already, but I can't keep up. So I'm just going to tag a few people whose names I don't think I've seen and apologise if you've already been tagged - or even made a post that I've missed!

Movie: I've got a lot of faves in a lot of genres, but The Princess Bride (1987) has been one of my comfort films since childhood. I never could resist a good fairytale! I kind of wanted to use an ensemble poster to fix the severe lack of Inigo Montoya in this Westley/Buttercup one, but I think this fits the moodboard better, both aesthetically and thematically (because there's a lot of romance on this board).

Character: Again, there are lots of options! But I want to pick 1) a woman, and 2) a longtime favourite, so... Elizabeth Bennet from Pride and Prejudice. Either book Lizzie or 1995 BBC Lizzie played by Jennifer Ehle will do. Who doesn't love an intelligent and determined woman who is loyal to her loved ones, speaks her mind, and grows from her mistakes? Oh, and who only warms up to the handsome aristocrat gentleman with a massive estate after he listens to her criticism, makes up for his mistakes, and demonstrates some character growth?

Dolphins: Love them. Happened to see some wild ones in Ireland this summer. Keeping them in captivity for humans' amusement is heinous.

Coffee: The thing about coffee is, if you don't drink it, you often feel like a nuisance when visiting people in my country. Especially older people, who don't necessarily keep tea in the cupboard. So, I learned to drink it in my late teens despite hating it at first, and once my tastebuds had adjusted, I fell in love.

Song: Swing Life Away by Rise Against. A very simple acoustic ballad about love, friendship, and how little you actually need to be happy in life. It's also mine and my spouse's song that was even played at our wedding ceremony (without vocals on guitar, violin, and double bass).

Season: I am very much a four seasons kind of person, but I guess spring might be my favourite.

Book: I've got so many to choose from, but I wanted to pick something queer, so: Torka aldrig tårar utan handskar, Jonas Gardell's trilogy about young love and the AIDS crisis in Sweden. It's absolutely fantastic and absolutely heartbreaking (not a happy read!). It's also been adapted to an excellent three-part TV series that can be found on Youtube with English subs. (Short English trailer, 6-minute Swedish trailer.)

Gardell is also a fitting choice because it was his recommendation on social media that got me to watch Young Royals, and I wouldn't be here on tumblr without YR.

Colour: My favourite colours are red, green, and dark grey. I've been in a green phase lately and it fits this moodboard best.

Hobby: Video games. I've been a PlayStation gamer for well over 20 years. I mainly play adventure and roleplaying games; titles with good storytelling and worldbuilding. Some of my favourites include older Final Fantasy games (up to FFX), the Uncharted series, Life is Strange series, Mass Effect trilogy, The Last of Us Parts I & II, Heavy Rain, Until Dawn, and Telltale's The Walking Dead 'seasons' 1 & 2.

In keeping with the theme, perhaps I should also mention that some of my fave WLW ships are from video games! Ellie/Dina from TLOU: Part 2, Nadine/Chloe from Uncharted: Lost Legacy, and Chloe/Rachel from LiS: Before the Storm (although I do love Max/Chloe in LiS OG too).

Birthday: June 1 (Yes, I just had my birthday! But for some reason I already started telling people I'm 23 back in March 😂)

Fave band/artist: Queen, since I was around 2yo! I guess I've just had a soft spot for gays since early childhood 🤷🏼‍♀️🌈

Last movie: Wolverine Origin. Or, no! I went to see Guardians of the Galaxy part 3 on my birthday! 😄

Last show: The last one I actually finished? Probably Glee. Or Good Witch. Or Lucifer. Because I was watching and finished them around the same time. But the ones I'm watching right now? Flash and rewatching Teen Wolf.

When I created my blog: Around 1,5-2 years ago, to send an ask to an author about their story. But really use the blog (posting and reblogs) I started less than a year ago (Mid Summer - Early Fall 2022).

What I post: I'm using Tumblr as my diary most of the time when I actually post something myself. But when it comes to reblogs? EVERYTHING!

Followers: Less than 20. Around 17, I think. And I'm happy to have them 😊

Average hours of sleep: 6-8 hours. I'm trying to control myself (for the last 2-3 years) and to not read for too long before going to sleep.

Instruments: Sadly, none. But I want to learn how to play guitar! My dad has one and I'm trying to make myself give it a try 😄

What I'm wearing: Sweats and a t-shirt, with a plaid shirt (I just had an online lesson and I had to look presentable in front of the kids, hence the shirt)

Dream job: I'm actually really happy with my job right now - I love being a teacher. But if I ever had an opportunity to appear in a movie or on the show, or if I were able to write stories/scripts - that would be a dream come true!

Dream trip: Around the world!

Favourite songs: Hmm... That's a tough one 🤔 I guess, most of Queen (obviously). Also, for the last year 2step by Ed Sheeran (feat Antytila) was my top1. Play with Fire by Sam Tinnesz (feat Yacht Money) and Wild One by MALINDA are close second. Taylor Swift and Glee Cast are always on the top near the Queen no matter how long has passed or the mood (because it's possible to find something for any mood among their works 💜).

Definitely get the whole vibe of everyone relying on you! I basically have the same role in my family too :/ While i would literally do anything for my family(not extended family bc thats a DIFFERENT story lol) it is very draining especially when at times it may not be reciprocated in a way that actually helps. So youre not alone in that and it doesn't make you a bad person for saying those things either! And yeah i did say im the eldest daughter! I only have one sibling which is my brother but he's only 2 years younger than me. We are actually very close and i love him to death! BUT what's wild is that personally I don't think we are too similar but apparently we are according to others lol We are also both Aquarians which is also WILD!

ANYWAYSSSSSS That is kinda sad to think about it like that :( But honestly I think you would love to see and particpate in a Day of the Dead celebration! It's just a different way of viewing death and th process of it like making the offerings and decorating is so fun! Well at least when we do it we cook/buy our loved ones fave foods and it comes naturally the nice memories we have shared with them. also idk if i've mentioned this but i LOVE flowers like obsessed! so I enjoy that aspect too! Plus it really does kick off your b-day month so IT"S A WIN! also WE ARE THE SAME once again, i have ALWAYS been obsessed with my ancestry too! Have you taken one of those DNA tests or Ancestry tests??? And you can ask whenever/whatever you want!

I say you could totally write a cool biography or even like a memoir! I think that would be such a fun little project even if it's just for yourself!

That's so funny. My extended family is a mess too. I was actually discussing it with one of my aunts on my mom's side this weekend. My dad's side is A LOT™ Like idk what happened we were discussing it and I was like "wow, i love these people but I do not like them. wtf." That's cool you have a brother, I always wanted a brother. But I'm def the son my parents never had either lol. I bet you're a killer older sister. My sister is also ~2 years younger than me and that's so wild how similar we are! My sister is way more outgoing than I am, she's probs smarter, and infinitely more confident (I said double it and give it to the next one in the womb). What's your brother like? It's funny you think you're not like him but others do! I think my sister and I are different but we have SO many similarities.

I've done 23 and Me! The results were unsurprising. I was hoping for more nitty gritty details but I'd like to do the Ancestry one too because then I could maybe get some of the more interesting info I want. Okay you've convinced me. Maybe I'll write a memoir 😂 OH I LOVE FLOWERS TOO! I bought a headband at TJMaxx and wore it. My coworker (Spanish teacher) loved it! It had really pretty flowers and I know I mentioned it last but I think Coco is one of the most BEAUTIFUL Disney movies on the planet and it's DEFINITELY the flowers. That's a beautiful tradition--eating their favorite food 😭 that's so so nice. I hope I can participate somehow sometime that would be really cool.

Picture of Dorian Gray is on my bookshelf! I tried reading it years ago but I struggled. It's on my shelf though so it means it's gonna be read by the end of the year hahahaha Let me know how you like it! 😊

HAHAHAHAHA I always go back and reread when I write a new part to check for plot holes but I REALLY had to go back and read to see if he said it (if you read between the lines of the original part he def says it) I feel like I kinda struggled falling in love--as much as I write about it I feel like there's something wrong with me--love in books and the way I feel love is very different. Idk maybe I'm weird. I've been fantasizing about love since I was 11/12/13. Maybe I set myself up for failure in believing the stories more than reality. ALL OF THAT was to say that I think I wrote her just finally feeling at peace to be herself, to really feel in love because it's something I always struggled with.

Valtteri and Lewis’ friendship makes me so happy I love them💖 !!

Same same I used to like him a lot more before but now find him annoying. And again same I think because I watch stuff on Netflix on 1.5x my attention span definitely seems to have reduced because other services like prime or Disney+ don’t have that speed feature so if the thing isn’t interesting enough then I too skip and move ahead.

Ooh love your choices bestie, they’re amazing and both are some of my faves too❤️! But My absolute favourite is iron man/Tony stark I remember seeing his movie as a kid and being so fascinated with everything and he’s been my favourite ever since. i feel like our attention spans collectively has decresed significantly because of rapid video content like tiktok or instagram reels🫣 i'm so bad for skipping when it comes to watching something because i'll skip over important parts and then get confused but oh well😭

tony stark is an i-c-o-n🤭🤭 i love tony and his sarcam so much and he was definitely one of my favs growing up, too!! i totally get what you mean, though! i feel like phase 4 tv shows are better than movies and movies just don't feel the same😮‍💨 i am very excited for the new captain america movie with anthony mackie though, i have very high hopes!!💜💜

oh it honestly changes all the time, last year i read a lot of dramione bc of all the tiktoks (i just had to read menacled and then proceed to have nightmares), and then i reeeeaaaally got into the marauders era again, it's honestly a phase i go through every year!! but i would say i mainly read f1 fics now and not so much hp content anymore😭 what fandoms do you read fanfic for, though??🩵🩵

the exam was fine, i think?? i hope?? i had to answer two questions and the second one was definitely more complex than i anticipated but i like to think i did a good job😭 i had to write until the morning, so i'd say about 15-16 hours in total?? i definitely went to sleep and then didn't wake up until like 2pm today😭😭😭😭 thank you so much for the support though, bestie, i definitely appreciate it!!🩷🩷🩷💜💜💜💜💜

I’m freaking out that you’re a Reservoir Dogs fan too!! It’s probably my favourite movie of all time and I couldn’t believe it when I saw you post it!! ❤️❤️❤️

YESSSSS!!!!!!! I sure am, and I'm so happy you're a fan as well!!! 😍😍😍

Everything about the film is flawless - the music, the acting, the story, the directing, the dialogue, the grit, the spaghetti western references, the violence, the humor - what ISN’T there to love?!

Tarantino has a lot of truly remarkable films, but this is my favorite of his. It just AMAZES me how much he did when he had so little to work with. Since he was new to Hollywood, the budget was incredibly low, and he didn’t have many resources available. So the fact that he could pull off THIS masterpiece is a testament to his creativity and skills as a director 🤯

I’d also consider Reservoir Dogs to be either 2 or 3 on my fave film ever list. The first spot is reserved for The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. The other two spots are a toss up between Reservoir Dogs and For a Few Dollars More!

(I'm putting the rest under the cut because I'm sorry in advance for the rant, and there are major spoilers...)

Also, I saw your tags on my reblog! As I said, it IS a gay tragedy, and nobody can tell me otherwise. There is a lot of evidence to make this argument btw — Mr. Orange allows Mr. White to murder cops right in front of him without any hesitation, yet moments later Orange kills a woman in a split second? Then, White literally defends Orange to the point of death, even though that involves betraying a man he’s been close with for many years??? And Orange confesses the truth about his identity to White, despite literally just having to wait one minute longer to be saved by the police?? Ummmm????

That’s not even mentioning how PHYSICAL everything is between them!! The caressing, face holding, hugging… uffda. In some foreign language versions of the film, White even offers Orange either a hand job or a BJ to help him feel better, for crying out loud! 🤦‍♀️

Tarantino himself said, “Gay subtext always makes every movie better,” and Harvey Keitel and Tim Roth have made references to something *more* going on between their characters. So, I think even they all ship it... and let's me real - it’s just so much more FUN to interpret it that way 😏

“You’re married?” It was hard to tell for sure whether he meant the emphasis on ‘you’ or ‘married’.

“Yeah.”

“Huh.”

He got back on his feet and whipped his gun out.

The Flash tensed, but Len held up a hand defensively.

“Relax. I’m not gonna ice ya.”

“Oh yeah?” Incredulity was back full force.

“Yeah. Let’s say I’m… off the clock.”

“Look, that might work for Ralph and Sam, but people like me or you don’t punch clocks. I mean, how do I know you’re not gonna ice me?”

“Because I won’t.”

“’Course you’d say that,” the Flash retorted, mistrust and a no small hint of sarcasm creeping back into his voice.

Len rolled his eyes again. “Actually, I wouldn’t. The way I see it, if you’re gonna shoot, shoot, don’t talk.”

“…Did you just rip off a line from a movie?”

“Can’t beat the classics. Now don’t move. If that’s even possible for you to do that, I mean.”

There still was an odd undercurrent of mixed-up emotions – a lot of them unrelated to the current situation – in the Flash’s glare, but he relaxed ever so slightly and held still. As though he actually trusted one of his most regular antagonists and a notorious villain to keep his word and not take a golden opportunity to off him just like that. Len suppressed a sigh.

I know I’m going to regret this.

Then he changed the right settings on his cold gun, pointed it at his enemy’s ankle, and – still calling himself every kind of idiot under the sun – fired.

The Flash gingerly moved his foot, looking bemused.

“You reversed the – wow. That’s a new feature.”

“After that stunt with Heatwave at the bank, I figured I needed something in case I accidentally froze someone I actually work with.” To tell the truth, Len wasn’t half proud of this recent finding. It had taken a lot of tinkering. Plus, it could prove useful.

He put the gun back into his holster again as the Flash turned to him, apparently trying to look sly and cold. It didn’t work – thankfully. That meant he wasn’t so far gone yet.

“How do you know I’m not gonna haul your butt to the cops now for breaking into that store?”

Len was expecting this. He crossed his arms and stared at the guy straight in the eye. Or where his eyes should be, anyway.

“Because something’s wrong with you. I don’t know what, I don’t necessarily care, but I got a feeling it’s going to make life very difficult for all of us. And we don’t need that.” He paused, and gave a small smirk. “If I wanted some dark and scary urban legend to run after me, I’d have moved to Gotham by now.”

Ooh, THANK YOU 💜 I queued the “fic commentary” post I reblogged from you but I always relish the occasion to wax verbose on my faves - and this is one of my favourite stories in the Everybody Comes to Harry’s “series”. Let’s gooooo ^^

Right. So, Status Quo is about a lot of things. It’s about a hero who’s still very early in his career (and a 16-year-old kid besides) and a villain who’s a little more seasoned, it’s about finding (awkward) comfort from unexpected places (and awkwardly offering it), it’s about trying to strike a balance between professionalism, pragmatism, and being a decent human being. Mostly it’s about heroes and villains finding common ground because the villain doesn’t want to see the hero go over the edge, which is a trope I love a whole lot.

“Then there’s the wife, of course.”

Janet mention ^^ I created Janet Snart for Wife and I ended up loving her so much she had to make a cameo or two elsewhere. Like she does at the end of the story.

This got the guy’s attention. His head snapped up and he stared at Len with a suddenly much more normal look on his face.

For context, in this story (as we find out later), Flash is 16 year old Wally West, who (in my version of the DCAU) was the Flash right away, since Barry Allen was never struck by that bolt of lightning. What he also is is a kid with parents who, if they’re not physically abusive, are dismissive and just don’t know how to deal with a teen. His mom, anyway, since his dad left. Fortunately he has his Aunt Iris (and his Uncle Barry) who essentially functions as his family of choice. And Iris just has had a bad heart attack earlier that day. So fear and grief and everything else are making Wally grimmer, angrier, and more sloppy. Which Len picked up on and is trying to work out why, because an unfettered speedster is dangerous. (Also, it’s just disturbing that the guy who’s always smiling just... isn’t.)

“You’re married?” It was hard to tell for sure whether he meant the emphasis on ‘you’ or ‘married’.

“Yeah.”

“Huh.”

“Yeah.”

For the record, Wally’s mental picture of how Captain Cold lives more or less matches the way Geoff Jones writes him: crappy apartment with beer cans all over the place. Except this Len Snart is canonically married (headcanon: to a wife who has a steady job as an accountant). So he actually has a house - tiny, bit run down (Janet has given up on a proper lawn years ago), but still, a step up from his comics version.

I love describing awkward silences. Scratch that, I love describing characters reacting to awkward silences :D

I’m always so glad when I manage to work in pop culture references that make sense for the characters. It helps with my impostor syndrome of “French writer writing (mostly) American/British characters”. As it happens, I remember watching a Ralph Wolf and Sam Sheepdog cartoon before I wrote this (a few months, probably) and the mental picture of the wolf and sheepdog punching the clock in the morning (“Mornin’, Sam” / “Mornin’, Ralph”), doing their thing all day, and then punching out reflects a whole lot on my version of the Flash vs. the Rogues and why I love them. Because at the end of the day, they’re just blue collar workers trying to do their job. They aren’t trying to rule the world or kill a bunch of people; they rob banks (or try to) and the Flash stops them. But in other circumstances (like, say, a Parademon invasion) they would team up and not grumble too much about it.

“Because I won’t.”

“’Course you’d say that,” the Flash retorted, mistrust and a no small hint of sarcasm creeping back into his voice.

Len rolled his eyes again. “Actually, I wouldn’t. The way I see it, if you’re gonna shoot, shoot, don’t talk.”

“…Did you just rip off a line from a movie?”

You bet he did! That’s Tuco’s line from The Good, the Bad and the Ugly :D I love referencing spaghetti westerns for the Rogues. It suits them well, especially the cynicism. That’s why I have this in Mick’s narration in the story before that: “He should have known that this wasn’t some Old West movie where the stand-off can last for excruciating long minutes and time isn’t really a problem. Or rather, if it was indeed a western, it wasn’t the Sergio Leone kind, where the main characters were more or less bad guys.Nope. John Wayne had to waltz in and save the day.Of course, John Wayne was a tall, lean kid in flashy red pyjamas (...)” :3

“Can’t beat the classics. Now don’t move. If that’s even possible for you to do that, I mean.”

Wally fidgets. And he has super speed.

I know I’m going to regret this.

I don’t know why I find it so funny having Len think he’s some seasoned hardass without a heart (dude is what, 30, 35 tops?) when he’s clearly not. I mean, he is a bastard and a whole lot more cynical than, say, Wally, but he actually has a heart somewhere. (very well hidden.) And the quickest way to access it is to show him a kid having a hard time, for personal reasons. Of course, a lot of his reaction in this story is him being pragmatic, but it’s also, y’know. Not just that.

Also give me all the stories about a hero trusting his villain not to kill him when he has the chance, just because he gave his word 💜💜💜

I’ve bullshitted a LOT in my time as an author, but this bit of technobabble might just take the biscuit :D How do you even begin to reverse an ice ray!?

I’m a big fan of the idea that the heroes vs. villains game, even when it begins relatively harmless, leads to an escalation, because what doesn’t? That’s a subject I liked on touching with Wife. Also that’s a callback to the first story and a nod to the fact that there may be all of two Rogues for now (the Temperature Twins) but Captain Cold’s day of being a lone wolf are over. He has one whole work colleague now! And more to come soon, though he doesn’t know it :o)

The Flash in the DCAU has a mask with some kind of lenses that hide his eyes. I like the idea that if you get really close, you can see them. But Len is still too far.

Look, I love Batman. The DCAU version might just be my favourite. But if you’re going to be a crook, you’d better work Central City or Keystone rather than Gotham (hell, if you’re a civilian, Central City is better than Gotham any day). And while I love the idea of The Batman being a scary urban legend across the map for the American underworld, I love even more combining this with what we know Batman to be, especially in the DCAU.

Of course Len is exaggerating. The quip has its desired effect in the next paragraph, though: “Now that he was standing up, the dim light of the streetlamps a few feet away caught the Flash’s face better, revealing a look halfway between baffled and amused. It was the most normal he’d looked since he turned up, but it still didn’t come close to his usual annoyingly buoyant disposition.” Anything to get the kid to unclench and talk about what’s with the punching first without asking questions or heckling even once.

When did you start watching Shameless?

I first watched it in 2014/2015 I think, back when I was a teen. As many many people I abandoned it post s5 (even though at the time I didn't stop watching specifically because mickey left but because when I watched the show s5 had just finished airing, so I watched that and just never got back to s6 once it aired). Then in march/april 2021 I was looking for some long show to binge and distract myself and I found out that shameless was ending and that gallavich got married so I decided to rewatch it! And actually never got to watch s6-s8 because I just couldn’t bare three mickey-less seasons asdfghj

How did you start getting involved in the Gallavich fandom?

Okay so I had been on Tumblr for years so my process whenever I watched or read something was to check it on Tumblr immediately and start following blogs and reblogging posts. Now with shameless it was a little different because I had taken a break from Tumblr (I was not having a good time™). I was on Twitter (horrible experience, never again, thank you, im so happy I deleted my account) and checked the shameless fandom on there but to be honest I was thrown off by the endless discord so I started lurking around here. I got so nostalgic of the time I was here on tumblr and the fact that the shameless fandom seemed so kind and positive really encouraged me to come back! And im really happy I did! I just lurked around a bit more and then decided to gather the courage and post a gifset.

Favorite Shameless character? (Other than Ian & Mickey of course)

Lip! Fiona! JIMMYSTEVE! Lip is actually my second favorite character, Fiona is my third together with Ian. Fun fact: during my first watch of the series I hated Fiona, def changed my mind! and JimmySteve.... I don’t care if he’s an asshole I love him, he was hilarious and the show has never been the same without him :(

What plotline from the show irked you the most?

I haven’t watched s6-s8 so I'd say... that asdfh but from the seasons I did watch ... probably the Ned storyline? Oh, another one I disliked was the whole Kev/V’sMom/V thing.... Also it did not irk me and there’s so much worse stuff happening on the show, but it’s so annoying that for two whole seasons lip’s storyline was “where will I end up living?”

Favorite line from the show?

Listen I know it’s 2014 Tumblr at its best but the truth is that deep down I am a 2014 Tumblr girl in my heart, so I just have to mention “Random destruction makes you think of me?/Yes it was beautiful”

Errr not so much attention but I guess the ones that are my faves are:

the piano is not firewood yet because building the rainy/lulled/late night talk atmosphere was very fun but also very specific

so it goes - different feels for each of the chapters but also this one was harder to nail down because it goes so far back in time

what if your hands are my hands - writing a story-within-a-story format was a bit challenging, but then also mapping characters over into the inner story, and then still making it correspond to TOG was ...something

Huh- I guess last year I did get to do a lot of the fun concept stuff I like to write :)

Do you respond to comments, why or why not?

What sorts of things do you normally write?

It’s either canon compliant or canon divergent

What's the fic you've written with the angstiest ending?

Hmm, even when I do heap on the angst, I try to have a happier ending in some way.

Maybe I went looking for knives (and I was looking for you) with Quynh still being out of step with her family, I did tag it ‘reunion but not reunited’.

Or maybe before those hands pulled me from the earth because we already know how Andy x Achilles ended, and that’s not going to change, but defo no angst until the end for that.

What's a fic that pushed you out of your comfort zone?

I've been here before - It was a full, multi chaptered fic with an actual deadline and the time loop concept was demanding, and the action I needed to put through was tricky, and then each loop needed it’s own flavour too.

Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you've written?

Yeah, although I think I was good last year and didn’t do anything too wacky. I will always love you - I wrote it in that daze after the TOG screenplay came out, and in a Lemony Snickett style which I guess was like a bucket list thing for me so it’s still lodged deep in my lil heart.

jan: starting off with this set of my favorite thai actresses!! i enjoyed making this one and the list has remained the same til this day (i have some new faves too) 🥰

feb: my very first atots set. it was truly a tale of thousand stares. i miss them so much. 💚😫 and also my bday set for win. it was so much fun to make as well. and it turned out really colorful. 😍

march: this set inspired by tkg. when i tell u i screamed when i saw the name of the poem. it’s very sarawatine. i rmr making it with all the hype of the movie coming out and then the movie never happened til november :((( but anyways i enjoyed making it. and i couldn’t post my favorite creations of march without including another set inspired by tkg with my other favorite couple. 💜 i miss wangxian so much :(

april: this set of atots parallels!! airport scene my beloved. 💘 also this set of itsay + the civil wars (i love the coloring!! maybe if i had learned to blend by then this would’ve been even better.. but i was so lazy djjdjsjs)

june: this gifset from hell. (but ok i admit it was fun making it yes i’ve lost my mind) and this one of wangxian 💖💖💖 i love love the coloring and fun fact the last gif took me about 1 hour to color (cql is sooo tough to color in general imo) i also really like this picset i made for atots week. it was so much fun to make (this was my picset era maybe i will make a comeback soon…) and of course it wouldn’t be june without a respective PRIDE set 🌈🥰 and a bi tine set of course.

july: i’m gonna say my first light on me gifset ever which was episode 4. that was the moment i was like wow i really love this drama. and got really hooked. also this soljiwan set makes me so happy idk why its so colorful and love is stored in the parallels… & for sure i enjoyed making this set of lwj/shinwoo parallels. i debated whether or not to add text on the gifs but then i realized it’s all about the body language. they’re my babies 💖. i also love this sarawatine gifset (inspired by the wonderful vikki @seanswhite)

aug: this was a hard month cause (together with july) it was my light on me era so i made so many gifsets of it. but i loved this one especially bc it was the finale. i felt like it turned out really good for closure. and of course!! my shinwoo is bad at feelings gifset 🥺🥺🥺 i miss him so muchhhh. & to conclude this month i really loved the combinations of pinks and b&w in this gifset.

sept: hands down, this taemin set. i was on a taemin marathon and missing him so much that i decided to watch all his mv’s and my brain did a thing.. like wait a minute. he’s an actual genius. he’s perfect. i also like this set of a first love story. it was sooo short but it was adorable and i’m glad we got a part 2. (I’m a huge fan of adding b&w gifs in the middle of a gifset as u can tell)

oct: this set of the tasty florida. i feel like the drama was so short lived but i really did enjoy it for the time it lasted. it was cute. 🥺💜

nov: this patpran gifset that ruined my life (it’s their song… it really is..) and this bad buddy recap gifset. i was really happy with the coloring (& blending)

dec: this danyok set. i really love the coloring and it’s my first ever gifset of them (and of many more i asume) so i feel like when we’re on the last few episodes and they’re all lovey dovey i’m gonna be looking back at the memories of yok simping for half the face of a stranger <3 also this bad buddy recap set is my favorite that i’ve done so far. i really like the blending and the coloring. 💛

Like, my first ever “real” (on the books) job was slinging ice cream scoops. Did that for 2 years and let me tell you, my arms were TONED in spite of all the free product we got to sample as employees, heh. 7. Do you think aliens are real? Yep! 8. Can you drive a manual car? Yep! I drive one every day. 9. What’s your guilty pleasure? Ehhh... I stopped feeling guilty about my pleasures long ago. 10. Tattoos? None for me because *needles*. But my knees go weak for super intricate sleeve tattoos on men 👀👀 11. Favorite color? Purples. All of them. 12. Things people do that drive you crazy? Being rude to restaurant / janitorial / retail / service employees, for starters. 13. Any Phobias? See #10. Also, I'm a bit claustrophobic; long plane rides (8+ hours) make me antsy, especially when obnoxious strangers and crying kids are thrown into the mix. 14. Favorite childhood sport? Horseback riding and I did some gymnastics as a kid but in general I'm not really a sporty person. 15. Do you talk to yourself? If muttering cuss words under my breath counts, a whole lot. 16. What movie do you adore? So very many but one I rewatched recently: In the Mood for Love (2000). It still hits somethin’ real deep inside me. 17. Do you like doing puzzles? Yes! Brainteasers, jigsaw puzzles, video game puzzles, crossword puzzles, logic puzzles, number puzzles... 18. Favorite kind of music? All kinds but OSTs tend to be my faves. 19. Back in June, my stepdad got so drunk, he humiliated both my mom and me in public. God, it was horrible and I’m glad he’s finally sober. I’m incredibly sexual, like I have a deep reserve of energy within me that I feel was shamed and repressed by school life and a religious upbringing Did your opinion of anyone change for the better? Susan Silver. Couldn’t stand her for a couple of years but my God, she has done so much for Chris’ charities and for Soundgarden as of late. I also want to include Billie Eilish in this, too: couldn’t see the appeal at first but she’s an inspiration Did your opinion of anyone change for worse? Vicky and her mother. Man alive, the wheels fell off that wagon. If you make resolutions, did you complete them this year? Nah. I don’t see the point. If you have goals in mind, set them and pull up your bootstraps and hope for the best If you make resolutions, what will your resolutions be for the coming year? See above. If you could go on an adventure during the remaining days of the year, where would you go and what would you do? Who would you go this? Seattle for Christmas, and I’d take my mom because we love it up there What do you wish for others for the coming year? Can we start talking to each other again? Like really talk and laugh with each other like you would a group of friends. Let’s take it easy on the memes, too, they’ve been getting so corny lately. let’s stop making everything into a political issue, too: stay in the know but consider the fact that it’ll all work out and fix itself in the end What do you wish for yourself? I wish for success in my writing, to be read and to feel seen, like I inspired someone. I’m not gonna sugarcoat it, either: I wish to be a rockstar in the writing world. I want to be a force to be reckoned with.
