Whoever says the the ballad of songbirds and snakes makes snow more likeable is dead wrong, cause it makes him even more evil, self centered and cruel person, who used people to his own advantage and was ready to sacrifice anyone he loves to have power.

This book however brings a lot of comfort to know just how much Katniss hit him like a karma.  Her being from district 12, challenging the authorities, her songs that definitely remind him of Lucy Gray and the hanging tree song that was the last song that she song before he murdered her.

The hanging tree song that he hates so much and the mockingjays that was the result of a failed experiment of the capitol, district 12, everything becoming a symbol of revolution, a symbol of falling of everything that Snow cares and worries about. In any sense, the past come to hunt him and I love to think that katniss is a descendant of the someone from Convey, making it even more symbolic that she could take a revenge on snow for lucy gray

Ok I just watched the last unicorn again and like. Obviously it’s still good. Like 80s dark fantasy aesthetic, hand drawn rankin and bass, a lot of the animators went to work for (newly formed) studio Ghibli after working on it, *of course* it’s beautiful. But after reading the book I can see how much of the heart and story and themes and humor of the book that it’s missing. And I get it, adapting a book into a 90minute movie is hard and lots would have to be cut. But now I’m longing to adapt it myself (as I usually do with the books I read) into a one season, live action, dark fantasy series and do the whole story justice
