#i love when teru fights someone with a new power

“average mob psycho character has 3 unique abilities” factoid actually just statistical error. “powers teru”, who lives alone in an apartment and steals the unique abilities of the 10000 terrorists sent after him every day, is an outlier adn should not have been counted

POKEMOB!!!! ive been thinking abt this nonstop for like, weeks. check it out, though! lots of little guys! reigen's special move where he chucks his nacli at the foe as hard as possible! teru's furfrou's matching wig! other stuff! this post has 18 images
@skypiea helped SO much with pokemon choices for this also!
see under the cut for full teams and further explanation!!! please check it out
mob - ralts & espurr. later, silvally. mob isn't a trainer, and his pokemon don't fight. they're just little guys. type:null was originally toichiro's (who used various pokemon alongside the human claw grunts), mob met it in aftermath of the divine tree once everything in the domination arc was over. (it still doesn't battle or anything. big fancy lapdog full of love.)
ritsu - unovan braviary, bisharp, and alakazam. going along with his student council status & top-of-the-line grades, ritsu's a skilled trainer with some powerful pokemon. braviary and bisharp were his most used pokemon early on- they're sort of representative of his student council thing (note braviary's unobtainable psychic type form)- but abra was his first pokemon, a counterpart to mob's ralts. it only evolved first during ritsu and the esper kids' attempted escape of the 7th division claw building.
reigen - murkrow, greavard, thievul, and nacli. reigen's not a trainer, his pokemon are both pets and assist him with work. with the exception of nacli, dark and ghost types are his specialty (psychic-adjacent types, but Not actual psychic types). his murkrow imitates him constantly. greavard is uu-chan, of course, but this time he doesn't get eaten by dimple (uu-chan is still feeding on reigen's soul). one of nacli's possible abilities in the games is "purifying salt", which cuts damage from ghost moves. reigen's nacli, of course, has sturdy. and to quote kite, re: thievul: "Reigen: would an untrustworthy guy have THIS [sends out the thief pokemon]"
teru - furfrou (shiny), zoroark (maybe shiny i cant decide. burple), and togepi (later togekiss). before his encounter with mob in season 1, teru didn't actually use his pokemon in battle often- they're rare, flashy, and/or powerful, but they were lackeys and status symbols just as much as his underlings at black vinegar were. his relationship with his pokemon improved after he started to work on his humility, leading to the evolution of his togepi.
shou - morpeko, latias, and (mega) blaziken. he's a super tough trainer, and he cares about his pokemon So much. he rides his latias like she's a surfboard
serizawa - swoobat & bewear. serizawa didn't really have pokemon growing up after his self-imposed isolation- the stufful he had as a kid was taken care of by his mother once that happened. he met his woobat a while after joining claw, and it evolved sometime after the world domination arc. bewear isn't entirely his- but after the world domination arc, he reconnected with it and takes care of it some of the time. the rest of the time it's serimama's gigantic housebear
tome - two (later three which become a single magneton) magnemite, orbeetle, eventually elgyem. i think magnemite just fits her vibes... plus it's a bit ufo-y, innit. she HAD to have a bug, and i mean..look at orbeetle's gmax form! and it has the telepathy ability! unfortunately, despite her best efforts, orbeetle's telepathy ability hasn't proved useful for finding human telepaths. she caught elgyem on new years, on the way back down to the car. tome can hold her own in battle, but training for battle isn't something she's focused on.
dimple - is a yamask! his big powerful form is cofagrigus, obvs. his mask is usually blank save for the cheek spots, since he has no memory of his life as a human. the mask does change to fit the (LOL) and psycho helmet cult as well. he places his mask on someone's face to possess them like any other yamask, to others it just appears as the regular red cheeks, but to folks who can see spirits they see the mask. when possessing someone, his expressions will show on the mask as well.
whew, i think that's everything i wanted to talk about. thanks for reading!

what do you like most about Juvia? and what's your favorite ship of Juvia (with someone?)
OHHH JUVIA... JUVIA.... I complain a lot about her, especially the way she's written post series 1 😭 I'm not a big fan of her obsession with Gray (& how that's her entire personality now 😨) BUT YEAH shes still one of my favorites;;;;;
It's mainly her idea / concept / potential that i fell in love with, which sadly never got explored much in the series, BUT here's a list of stuff I loved about her canonically in no particular order (+ the ships);
Her backstory and her arc during Phantom Lord. I lovee how her and Gray's fight was resolved, I'm so happy she finally got to see a clear and bright sky after YEARS of thinking she'll never see it because of how awfully she's been treated by people around her for something she couldn't control, I think it was beautiful!!! And she definitely deserved it!!!! I could relate to it a lot too 😭
She LOVES her friends as much as everyone else in FT does, it just doesn't seem like it because of her. Thing. With calling people her "love rival," at least before series 2. ->
The series' first ever unison raid being hers and Lucys??? ICONIC. I'M GOING TO BITE A TABLE. Her self sacrifice to get Cana out of Freed's jutsu shiki??? DEVASTATINGLY SWEET. Getting Gajeel to join her in Fairy Tail because she was worried he wouldn't find / be accepted in any other guild??? ALSO REALLY SWEET, GOD. Her team ups with Lisanna during Tenrou and Alvarez??? VERY CUTE 10/10 WE NEED MORE.
If it isn't obvious enough, she actually does have a really cute and funny character (As long as shes not doing anything relating to Gray for once)!!!! And I love that contrast between her new brighter and more cheery personality and her older, quiter and depressed one. Its really sweet. I love her character arc a lot ok. I love how she actually doesnt like swimming despite her element being water and how shes awful at baking!!!! Go girl!!! Give us nothing!!! I lovee how shes not above doing anything dumb with her friends (Like with Gajeel, especially) shes fun I miss her ☝️
Her design(s) ??? Have you seen her??? She's serving 24/7. A unique silhouette every time too. Phantom Lord fit? A slay, a definitive classic, love the europe-ness of it, really fits her constant rain thing she had going on. The teru teru bozu on her was adorable and sad at the same time. So good she came back to wearing it after Edolas Arc (this was apparently a warning). Her outfit once she joins Fairy Tail??? ADORABLE! THE DRESS WAS UNIQUE!! THE SHORT HAIR WAS A SLAY. I'd say it counts as a 'meaningful hair cut' even when we never got to see her cut it or why she did but narratively it did show that she was starting a new life 🫶 I dont think i need to say much about her fits after Tenrou, they look really good and comfy 😌 And I love her long hair too, not as much as her short hair but its cute how it kinda looks like water, intentional or not. Shes one of the few women in FT who hasn't come down with a nasty case of 'Mashima's Same Face Syndrome Post GMG' but she was still affected by it. Also i love her long boots and furs..
Phantom Lord Juvia was reallyy cool too, before she got a redemption and all. Look at her!!! How powerful and mysterious she seemed!!!! The dark blues / black outfit... the rain following her wherever she goes, how she was one of the strongest people in Phantom, again, the teru teru bozu, her constantly stone cold face, dark eyes, how ominous she was- she was Leaking 'Power' at that point and I kinda miss her intimidating presence :( I love how scary she was and could be sometimes
Her arc with Meredy,,, I dont know how to articulate my thoughts on their fight nor am i confident enough that the stuff im thinking of actually happened / was there (Like her recognizing that Meredys situation was awful, did Juvia even ever learned about her past??) (Been a while since I rewatched/read it, my bad) but the hug did stood out to me. Usually the fights would end with someone or both or more on the floor / ground, regardless of the characters, but this time Juvia just hugs her, and Meredy cries and its just ??? 🥹🥹🥹 AND THEY HUG EVERYTIME THEY SEE EACHOTHER AFTER A LONG TIME TOO AFTER THAT,,, ITS REALLY CUTE... also i think its cool that Mashima changed it so it ended like that because of a flood that happened.
Her magic seems really flexible and awesome, no wonder she was part of the elemental four and an S-class candidate- Girl!! She's weaponizing pressurized water!!! You can't just get hit by them and expect yourself to be okay just because its water!!! She could just drown people soo easily using waterlock or send them back MILES using. That attack I forgot the name of. She could just "disappear" by turning into puddle and reappear and surprise people the same way!!!! You cant attack her using physical objects, it would just phase through her!!!! She can flood entire arenas!!!!! The fact that should apparently control the temperature / heat of the water too!?? Girl!!! Use it more!!!! Hate how it was shown once during phantom but never mentioned again, that would've been so useful. Mashima knew she would've been unstoppable if she was used to her fullest potential so she was nerfed like every other characters whos ever gotten a redemption.
Okay apparently i like her more than I thought. Let's not mention the stalking bit. I think its creepy. But yeah!!! Love her character!!
As for ships, I'm not that picky with ships involving her (Reason being im never sure if i ship them for romantic reasons or if its because i think they wouldve been funny), just make sure it isn't Gray, also I tend to ship her with women more & headcanon that shes a lesbian!
My favorites are obviously luvia (Lucy) and lisvia (Lisanna) or lulivia (POLYCULE‼️‼️) I just think they're neat and like really sweet aauagh. Something about these two girls accepting her almost immediately, how they like talking about love a lot, Lucy & Lisanna teaching her how to bake, the beach trips, the sleepovers would've been legendary..... so would the dates.......... think about it,,, The iconic-ness of the first ever unison raid from luvia.... the Juvia/Lisanna team up during tenrou.... the spite from shipping something against the majority of the fandom,,,,, Come down here into this cellar with me...
I also like ervia a lot, they have a lot of potential!! I wish we got to see them spar 1 on 1, like before tenrou? Also the scene where Erza conforts her after she failed to give the scarf to Gray 🥹🥹??? Cana and Juvia are also funny and they have GREAT chemistry in canon, most tensioned filled Juvia ship ever & im surprised its not right behind Gruvia as the fandoms favorite Juvia ship.
Lyvia also wouldve been cool!!! I love whenever 2 characters are unhealthy and obsessed with one another, and lyvia could've been that had Juvia reciprocated his feelings. Also seems better than gruvia. Lyon doesn't actually stalk her hes just a simp whenever he spots her.
Meredy/Juvia is cute too (AFTER the timeskip) idk they're adorable. I think the FTGKMR card of Meredy wearing Juvia's clothes sold me on this, because lets be honest if she was wearing Lyon's outfit, the whole fandom would've screeched as well 🙄 you've seen their reaction towards Lucy wearing Natsus vest thing, let me have this. But yeah i see it Less as romantic and more just best friends. Not quite mother/daughter or siblings because i never got the chance to think of it that way too much while watching (Thanks to the timeskip immediately after tenrou too)
Aquarius and Juvia would've been neat to see more of, especially when they got along SO WELL during the short amount of time they talked in the celestial spirit realm 😭 This is kinda a joke ship but yeah i do like it :)
Navia and gajuvia are cool too 👍 They're are getting up to no good!!! Again, i see them more as friends than lovers but I see the appeal.
Also heres the meredy card im talking about in case you want to see:

Late to posting this (my first draft got deleted and I lost motivation lol) but wow the new episode was amazing and I shed some tears Honestly I just wanna give a little love letter to Teruki's character because he's one of my favorites and I always just appreciated him being on screen as a support cause he's just an absolute sweet heart and seems like someone who seems like a pleasure to be around. And I wanna appreciate how far he's come cause this character conclusion was so good for him
Tumblr media
One thing I always loved about him was his constant drive to genuinely want to improve himself as a person.
I think we all know him trying to humble himself after having such a heavy superiority complex is a big part of it. But I feel like we don’t remind ourselves enough that Teru’s superiority complex stemmed from trying to hide an inferiority complex. It’s not JUST a struggle about going over your head even if that’s apart of it. But it’s also a journey of discovering what it truly means to be equal with others. It’s a concept I really appreciate being explored here because it’s something I struggle with myself. And while his arc is subtle for a lot of the series. It’s definitely there.
This is why his dynamic with Mob is so important. How he feels about Mob throughout the series perfectly captures his character arc. Seeing him as a threat to his ego and life and needing to establish “the hierarchy” but then putting him on a pedestal and admiring him greatly and essentially labelling Mob as someone “Above him” There’s still a lot of little things in the series that adds up to him still viewing the world through this hierarchy he’s made in his head even if he’s trying to rid of it.
Tumblr media
This moment was really great and you can see the horror in him as he truly has to take in what’s happening and the dangers with it. I adore that the way Teru finally sees Mob as an equal is also seeing him at a very low point in his life. He’s not above mistakes, and everyone has their bad days and things they want to hide about themselves.
Tumblr media
Calling himself a common constantly is pretty blunt and perhaps harsh in some peoples eyes. But it means what it means, he’s not above or below anyone, he’s just like everyone else.
Also note I’ve been anime only for Mob Psycho since I’ve started watching in middle school though I have read a few chapters of the manga and plan to do a full read when the anime is done. But for this arc I’ve been reading the manga chapter right after the episode and I just wanted to talk about this line that was cut
Tumblr media
(The last panel) I’m really sad about this change because it really says how much Mob hates himself and all it does is break my heart and make me reflect on how innocent all this started. He spent so much time trying to gain the courage to ask his crush out flowers and everything and he ended up with a near death experience and destroying everything around him and hurting his friend. I might make a seperate post talking about him in this episode or perhaps wait for the next to do so.But Teru refusing to hurt him and claiming his victory through saving the people around him is honestly so amazing so many ways. Not only is he easing the pain of his friend and making sure his worst fear doesn’t happen. But it truly speaks where his values now lie.
Originally a gang leader drunk on power and participating in fights because it was the biggest boost for his ego to someone who wants to whole heartedly help other people.
Those other psychic kids from the awakening lab in season one he took upon himself to train, he always tries to help take claw down, his absolute refusal to be brain washed and let that happen to the city, he always tries to help Mob out when he’s in trouble.
When Teru says “I win” he did. It’s an amazing victory for him because he accomplished his goal of protecting others and wants to make the world a better place and he’s become a true leader in the process.
I can’t help but think back to season 2’s Toichiro when thinking of Teru. The idea of being so drunk on power and dismissing the importance of others he expresses. Human connection is a very important theme in Mob Psycho and I think human connection is also very important to Teru’s arc for the reasons stated above
Tumblr media
A while back my friend showed me some things in the fan book that didnt contain manga spoilers and I think the last line stuck with me because of this idea. It also took me back to that omake with him and Reigen of him having a fun summer after seeing them as boring.
I’m very very proud of him for not closing his heart off. He did a great job.

You know, I'm looking at this post and I think I'd like to ask you about headcanons 🍪 ^^
But I really can’t decide who exactly, to Teru (because right now I’m obsessed with this guy) or to the Stoll brothers (Like, PJO the fandom as a whole is small in the field of the tk community, let alone these two. ALTHOUGH THESE TWO HAVE SO CHAOTIC POTENTIAL IN TK PLAN)
So I'll leave that choice up to you
I'M THINKING ABOUT BOTH NOW SDFJUJHGF okay u know what. I will make both. If I can't ramble about The Blorbos what even is the point xDD.
I will be posting Teru's in a separated post because I think it will be quite messy if I mix both here. So! Thank you very much for your asky! Writing these were extremely fun and <33 You are so right those bros deserve much more attention and tickles in their lives ajfwffwgvs
Hope the ones with the Stoll Brothers isn't too OOC, it's been a time since I read stuff w them and not gonna lie, I am kind of rusty w writing them
☄️THE GREMLINS STOLLS ☄️
Life is a game, tickle fights are war and they. are. winning. Those two are the KINGS of tickling. They don't have only an ace upon their sleeve they have an entire deck that they stole from your things when you were looking away.
They are MASTERS of antecipation. Not because they can throw subtle hints of how they are going to get you or tease or anything like that, it's actually the exact opposite. Most of the time the ""victim"" (usually a new bean who just got into the camp and is living on the Hermes Cabin for the time being and they want to properly welcome them :3) is literally just chilling until the bean look to the side, see both Travis and Connor Stoll just standing there and their previously innocent faces star opening in a sharky smile and playful, determinated look take over their faces.
It's over. Because everyone knows what that grin means. Everyone had seen at least once Travis doing the same expression before jumping on Connor and squeezing his sides non stop, demanding to know where is the thing ("You know what I am talking about. You know exactly what it is and I know that you hid it. Just tell me and I will let you go, bro ~") or the way Travis will freeze on the Camp meetings (I actually forgot the proper name here but it's those meetings w the leaders of each cabin asdfghgfd) and start shaking on his chair, trying to appear nonchalant while one of his hands cover his wobbly smile and the other try to push his brother's wiggly, skilled and so unfairly nimble fingers from his spine.
That is the grin and it means only one thing: They are going to get their giggles. You don't know where. You don't know when. But they are going to get it.
Usually it doesn't take long before loud laughter and squeaky protests begins to fly across the camp.
Not all their tickles are planned attacks full of scratches, scribbles, squeezes and raspberries, tho. Travis, especially, absolutely *loves* to randomly poke or prod someone who was just stretching in preparation for a fight or just distracted enough to be caught of guard. He likes to say he has a Squeal Collection and Thank You So Much For Adding Yours :). Surprise tickle attacks are everything to him
Percy lost the counts of times he was just chilling sitting on the dock, chatting with Grover or Annabeth, feet submerged and then BOOM his ankles are trapped in a headlock and rip. Main character killed by surprise tickles he will be missed <3 Also it doesn't help that more often than not Annabeth or Grover will help to destroy him instead of saving him so Travis has actually opportunity to escape.
Connor is more on the soft side of the playful fun, tho. Which makes them an incredible powerful team. There is no one able to keep a serious face when he gets those skittering, agile nails next to any unprotected neck or ticklish ribs.
He is the only one who can get Clarisse to lauh (sometimes even giggle but she is going to take that to her grave) btw. Even tho revenge is always merciless ajvwyvsjvw but what is life without some danger yeah?
Talking about revenge, b r u h, those two are tickled at least ONCE PER WEEK because of how much gremlins they are agfwffwggshw they, of course, love the thrill of a chase and will make it difficult af to catch them but the moment you get close to any of their tickle spots? It’s over. They become a mess of limbs, loud, boisterous laughter and babbles or protests.
Tickling them together is always something lovely to see because while Travis will be promising to do anything, anything you want if you have mercy on him mah man Connor can't form a single rational word. He will be babbling a bunch of nonsense, mostly random words or jingles and they are very teased (playfully and by friends ♡) when this happens.
They are quick to recover tho. Crazy to see how they can go from a mess of giggles (and if you drum your fingers riiiight in the center of their armpits just rights or lightly scribble their ankles, squeaks and snorts) to tickle monsters in less than one minute.
Flustering them is not very easy. It needs the right amount of anticipation and surprise. But it's very cute to see so beans from the Hermes cabin will sometimes make bets to see who can do it first
(Clarisse was the one who won by sneaking behind Connor and picking him up by his waist while digging on his absurdly ticklish hips. Rip our gremlin Boi)
Their comforting, soft and more silly giggles are reserved only for each other and their close friends tho. Like some cheering up after a though nightmare or a day when the training got too much heated.

Mob Psycho 100: The Stage Play 3 - Final performance content spoilers
Tumblr media
Here are all the notes I compiled after getting the chance to see the final performance for ‘Mob Psycho 100: The Stage Play - A Clash with Claw’s Seventh Division!’ live. Note this is essentially a write-up of the play from beginning to end - this will also likely be the version of the play that is used for the DVD release in December. I will also edit this when the recording becomes available for viewing and I can gain some clarity on sections I missed...
PRE-SHOW
- Reigen and Mob do a pre-show announcement relating to covid prevention measures (referred to not by name as Covid but an evil spirit) plus standard theatre etiquette rules (don’t use your phone, put it on silent, etc.)
SHOW
- Begins where stage 2 left off as a ‘Previously…’ segment for the audience. We once again witness Koyama knocking Mob out with the spray and kidnapping Ritsu.
- In the Teru/Dimple/Mob discussion part of the stage 2 recap, Teru takes the bird’s nest off his head and throws it off stage - we hear the birds within fly away.
- ((We immediately see how the reduced audience affects the play - a funny physical gag where Teru and Dimple bash heads happens but this receives no response from the audience))
- We reach the end of stage 2 recap with Mob stating he’ll destroy Claw as he does at the end of stage 2. The screen goes black and we hear the echo of a voice saying ‘Give [it] back… give [it] back, [It’s] mine, give [it] back…’ - this is implied to be Mob talking about Ritsu but the lights turn on to reveal S&S and turns out it’s Shou talking to Reigen about Touichirou’s card
- Reigen gives the card back to Shou, calls him a ‘baggy-clothed asshole’ and tells him to leave since Reigen is busy. Reigen puts his feet up on his desk and goes on his phone, leading to;
S: “What are you doing?”
R: “Reading the news.”
S: “You’re not busy, you’re bored!”
- Shou mentions that he’s also got 10k yen missing from his wallet and accuses Reigen of stealing it - Reigen insists he didn’t but starts doubting himself
- When Shou leaves, Reigen salt splashes in his direction (An English translation is now given under each of Reigen’s special moves ala Olympic parody)
-Reigen calls Mob, leading back to the Mob/Dimple/Teru scene - Terada and his cronies enter and Mob tells Reigen he can’t talk right now, hang up which leads to…
***
OPENING
- Yoru no Honki Dance - Call Out (as the previous two plays)
- Action takes place on the upper and lower stage - Ritsu and the lab kids on the lower stage with Ritsu in anguish with Mob, Teru, Dimple on the top stage
- Action shot with the show’s “Yeah!” line focuses on Reigen and Mob on the top level
***
- Teru tortures Terada with a taser rather than water - Terada is also wearing a ballgag with multiple kazoos inside it leading to a great sound whenever he screams
- Mob and Dimple are terrified of Teru’s taser torture whenever he does it
- Matsuo’s performance is sensual and slimy - great stage presence
- Ishiguro’s voice is distorted using a pitch filter resulting in something creepy rather than the female voice used in the anime
- Ritsu and the lab kids are seen in the jail cell - great banter with them and their Claw guard (Guard to Rei: “I won’t hit you because you’re a girl!” Kids: “A gentleman!”). Guard tells them they won’t get any food and they start rioting
- Mutou is VERY creepy and accompanied by terrifying music - he skulks around the stage with his ridiculous silicone chin
- When Mutou “kills” Kaito off screen we get a ridiculous extended segment featuring Daichi reacting to what is initially cries of his brother’s pain that turn into pleasure as if he is getting a massage - then turns back into pain
- Kaito is wheeled back on in a luggage/weight carrier with 4 knives in his chest
- Teru vs Terada is visually very fun - movement choreography is great, lots of Teru’s dance techniques that got cut from the anime
- Back in the jail scene Ritsu states he doesn’t remember the kids names so they re-introduce themselves to the audience
- Asahi and Hoshino heating up the spoon/bending spoon/on repeat is very well performed
- Ritsu tries to high-five with with one of the other kids when they escape the jail but finds he has no-one to do it with :(
- Back to Dimple/Mob/Teru - when Dimple-chan(puppet) says “Oh who’s that good looking guy? A model?”, Nadagi pulls a whole bunch of model poses
- When Teru tries to knock the security guard out he screams for AGES leading to one of the funniest moments in the play - he finally is knocked out but when Dimple tries to possess him he takes ages to be possessed - Taa (Teru) breaks character completely and doubles over laughing and Itou (Mob) refuses to face the audience making it clear he is losing it as well
- Muraki is creepy looking but his cloak is see-through and sparkly - his actor plays him as quite a timid guy
- Great visual gag with Mob throwing Koyama around and then sending him through the stage wall
- Ishiguro has a moment where he talks to the audience/the new recruits where he shows off the Claw face mask available as part of the merch
- Great fight choreography between SG!Dimple and Gen (played by Baba) - ends with SG!Dimple pulling his trousers down
- Teru tasing people left and right in this play…
- Great stage effects in Teru vs Miyagawa - Teru tases Miyagawa as well
- Tsuchiya calming down Mukai is lovely - followed by Mukai finding a puppet that she believes hasn’t been destroyed by Mob and getting excited - but the head rolls off so she breaks down crying again
- ((My stream cut here so I didn’t see the start of the Ritsu vs Shou interaction and whether or not he recognised Shou from their interaction in stage 2))
- We see a little Shou vs Ritsu - Ritsu flings an array of spoons at Shou - Shou lands a punch that sends Ritsu off stage
- Character design for Takeuchi has been corrected slightly from the anime
- Matsuo vs SG!Dimple stage effects are great. They’re both very flashy actors which creates fantastic visual comedy
- Matsuo takes off his jacket like he’s at a strip club - it’s all very flamboyant and fun
- ((Stream cut again so I didn’t actually see the joke, but some kind of adlib happens with Reigen in the taxi scene that causes Baba to break character))
- When Mob uses his powers to blow Takeuchi away someone comes on stage with a leafblower to blow his hair away
- Screen goes black and we cut back to Shou delivering the final blow on Ritsu. Shou says someone interesting is coming and leaves stage for Mob’s entrance
- Mob finds Ritsu passed out and holds him, finds he’s breathing but won’t forgive who did this to him
- Mutou enters and stalks around the back and creates the image of Ritsu dead on the floor with a knife in his chest for Mob which causes his freak out
- “What a great pair of brothers” - Shou leaning over Mob and Ritsu’s passed out bodies
- Shou floats Mob and Ritsu into the room with Sakurai/Teru/Ishiguro
- Small cut away to Reigen - he sees 500 yen on the ground and immediately runs to go pick it up
- Mob and Ritsu’s hug is very emotional - Ritsu is more panicked asking Mob if he’s okay and Mob is more emotional responding than the anime
- Mob pats Ritsu’s head to calm him down
- Visual gag where Shou steps on Ishiguro’s shoe - Ishiguro freaks out trying to clean it and Muraki offers emotional support
- Guy walks into the room with Sakurai/Muraki/Ishiguro/Matsuo/Shou and informs them “The boss is coming”, which piques Shou’s interest and he comes along to meet “the boss”
- Play then gives us a “5 minutes earlier” scene. Baba’s performance in the Claw break-in is more on the eccentric/aggressive side than the calmer calculating tone Sakurai had - changes the atmosphere for the scene
- The whole scene with Reigen saving the lab kids is redone to be so eccentric with everyone chanting BOSS! BOSS! BOSS! at the end for Reigen
- When Reigen starts making a comment about Teru’s wig and cuts himself off to not offend him, he goes to Mob like “wtf” and Mob whispers in his ear what happened
- Shou included in the scene when Ishiguro etc. face off against Reigen
- ((ARGH my stream cut out again, when it came back Shou had moved over to Reigen’s side - probably some good dialogue there between them that I missed))
- Shou says to Reigen ‘Give me back my 10,000 yen’ - Shou decides to stand back to watch the show
- When Ishiguro attacks, Mob protects Shou as well as everyone else
- We have Shou/Teru/Mob/Ritsu/Reigen all on one side vs the Claw guys on the other (Ishiguro/Sakurai/Muraki/Matsuo)
- When Reigen does his Anti-Esper Drop Kick, they choose to translate this in English as “Dropkick to the espers”
- Shou: ‘You’re really taking [Muraki] on? lol’ Reigen: ‘Shut UP you brat’
- When Sakurai attacks Reigen (first time), Ritsu helps him up
- Lots of good banter between Shou and Reigen (”Stop calling me ‘old guy!’”)
- Shou sits to the side and enjoys the show while Sakurai/Muraki/Ishiguro/Matuso vs Reigen/Mob/Ritsu/Teru happens, makes some comments (ie. “Damn you’re in a pinch, whatcha gonna do now?”)
- When Reigen is getting sucked up by the anti gravity bubble, Shou helps Teru/Mob/Ritsu out with saving him
- Sakurai cutting off Teru’s wig is made into such a Dramatic moment
- Shou joins the fight against Ishiguro - Ishiguro manages to knock him out of the field and Reigen expresses concern (‘Oh crap! Kid are you okay!’)
- Lots of stage theatrics - now that Shou is no longer in play scene plays out as it does in the anime
- Lots of Reigen protecting Mob and leading him away from danger until the climactic moment where Mob decides to fight
- Mob’s scream of ‘Shishou!!!’ is filled with emotion - Reigen collapses quickly and without theatrics, facing the audience
- He doesn’t get a cut in his jacket, nor does he remove it
- When Reigen destroys Matsuo’s pet - ‘Oh Jesus I’m sorry I didn’t mean to destroy your toy’
- More protective Reigen - puts his arm out to protect Teru and Ritsu & get them behind him
- Reigen’s “Purifying Salt Punch” -> English given as Prime Salt Punch
- ‘It’s rude to wear a mask when talking to people!’ - here his mask doesn’t come off - unsure if intentional
- ((The bento story is REALLY well performed comedically but doesn’t land with attending audience))
- Sakurai shoots Reigen and Reigen catches the bullet
- Reigen uses the spray to spray his armpits
- Reigen at Muraki’s forehead “what is this? A doorbell? Ding dong ding dong”
- Lab kids start making fun of Muraki as well (Rei: What is that, cosplay?)
- Rei has a crush on Reigen in the same vein as her crush on Ritsu - Calls him cool and stuff and tries to reach for him
- Mob: ‘Having powers doesn’t make you popular’ Rei: ‘Lame.’ Reigen: ‘Well there you have it.’
- Shou comes back in centre stage and knocks Ishiguro out - goes to Reigen and says it’s time to repay the debt he owes Reigen - knocks Ishiguro out fully as per anime/manga
- As Shou leaves he pats Ritsu on the shoulder
- When Reigen says ‘is this an evil spirit?’ He hold his nose as if Dimple stinks, then grabs his head and shakes him around. Gets some salt from his pocket and throws it at Dimple
- Rei goes up to Sakurai and asks to date him
- Shou goes on the phone on stage top level and calls Touichirou as per manga/anime lines
FINAL SCENE
- Shou returns to S&S - as it turns out Reigen had the 10k stuck in his pocket the whole time and returns it to Shou
- Mob and Ritsu (with a bag) enter S&S while Shou is still there but leaving - Mob thanks Shou for helping them and asks Ritsu to do the same - Ritsu complies
- Shou looks back at Reigen, then toward Ritsu and Mob and tells them all they’ll meet again
- Mob and Ritsu share a heartfelt moment - “Ritsu, you’re amazing” - “No you’re the amazing one Nii-san”
- Ritsu gets out Takoyaki for Reigen/Mob/Ritsu to enjoy and Dimple joins them
ENDING SONG - ‘mob.’
https://katyatalks.tumblr.com/post/659597484715278336/mob-ed-for-mp100-stage-3-a-clash-with-claws
- Itou’s voice is STUNNING
CAST COMMENTS
- Kawaharada Takuya (Teru) addresses the fact that he’s the person who laughed the most out of everyone
- Nadagi says he wants to do a stage 4 and that’s the general vibe with everyone  and it’ll be nice if the anime gets a S3 too
- Lots of talk about stage 4 and it only being possible if everyone comes together
- Itou: ‘Us being able to do this again out of the blue so suddenly is thanks to all of you’
ENCORE
- Itou and Baba
- Lots of crying from Itou relating to covid and how it has cut the audience - he is grateful but he’s still upset about it - Baba gives him a huge hug

Third person pov
The guys had gone back home around 1am, as Mei had passed out on the couch in Yamaguchi’s arms.
The Monsters arrived back at their house quickly. Suna and Kenma had now joined the group. They gathered in the kitchen as they sat around the table.
“So what was the super important thing that the other two can’t know about yet? Kemna asked.
“He said just y/n for now.” Shirabu said from the doorway in the kitchen.
“Oh shit, must be pretty damn serious then.” Suna whispered to Kenma.
After Shirabu had sat down things had gone quiet for a moment. Tendou looked around at the three new faces there.
“My mother found me. There is no easy way for me to say this but,” He took a deep breath.”She runs the South side Yakuza.”
“Are you fucking serious?” Shirabu spoke up.
“We have three days to let her know what we think. I have no choice, kyotani joined already as well. You guys do not have too but I would suggest leaving town if you want out. Once you are in, death really is the only way out. “ Tendou said.
“I thought about it a lot while we were at the hangout tonight, I’m in.” Terushima said.
“Hell yeah fucker!” Kyotani said as he bro hugged him.
“You guys don’t have to decide right away. So please think about it and just let me know by Tuesday at noon.” Tendou said. He stood up at this point and left the table. Kyotani followed close behind him.
“Are you really going to join Teru?” Hanamaki asked.
“What do I have to lose man? You guys at this table, plus Y/n, that’s the only family I got now. I want to stay loyal to them, those two guys as well have been there for me for so long.” Matsukawa looked over to him.
“I think I will say yes after I deal with something real quick.” He stood up and left the room.
“What are you guys thinking?” Terushima nodded towards the three newest members.
“I want to talk to Y/n, but I know Tendou has to do that as a one on one first. I really need to think about it first.”
“I just need to sleep on it. I guess it’s basically what we do now but on a much bigger scale. I think sleep will help me feel more comfortable instead of just saying yes now and regretting it later.” Suna said.
“I would have to set some ground rules. For one I don’t do physical activities and I refuse to work in the field. I am not the strongest but I do have a lot of  hacking experience and I am good at what I do.” Kenma admitted.
“I am sure a hacker would be needed. You have mad skills Kenma, but yeah let’s talk to Tendou. His dinner is Monday with y/n. He will probably power text out after to see what everyone feels or for a meeting.” Terushima said.
“Are you seriously considering it Kenma?” Hanamaki asked, Kenma shrugged at him.
“Why are you backing out Maki?” Shirabu stepped in asking him.
“You guys are all new to this lifestyle, you know? Is this something you want to spend the rest of your life doing?”
“Honestly I was just going to seduce a CEO then steal their company and make my assistant run it for the rest of my life anyways. A dream life of riches right there.” Suna said. Terushima laughed a bit at his response.
“Dude that’s actually pretty smart. I see why you are a business major now.” Terushima said.
“Honestly, I was just going to hack something big and probably blackmail my way to the top as well.” Kenma said with another shrug.
“You babies are growing up so fast.” Terushima said, pretending to wipe tears from his eyes. “Just yesterday you were just two teens on campus, today you are ready to swipe billion dollar companies.” Shirabu laughed.
“The only thing I was going to do was be a doctor, but maybe working with you guys would be better. I still have quite some time to go, but I do have a lot of medications if you need it.” Terushima laughed again. \
“You really are swinging in the big league already, I just don’t think you realised how close you really are.”
Meanwhile upstairs…..
Tendou sat behind the desk as he looked down at his hands. :
“Just rip the bandaid off and say it the fuck now.” Kyotani said.
“It’s not that easy telling my one true love, hey I get to kill people for a living now!” Kyotani sat in the chair in front of him.
“She definitely already knows what type of man you are. Look at us back in highschool. We were fighting people, hell you shattered Oikawa’s leg with a bat!”
“I know, But Kentaro,” Tendou took a deep breath, “I don’t know what she will do, maybe she will leave me... Maybe it would be better that way, at least I would know she’s safe.”
“You are a fucking idiot. I bet you she’s going to give you that look she makes when she thinks, then 10 minutes later jump into your arms and tell you she fucking loves you and I will call you a fucking idiot but you two will be fucking fine.”
“I am not sure this is the lifestyle she would want to live.”
“Satori, you are such a fucking idiot.” He smacked the back of Tendou’s head.
“What the hell mad?!??!” Tendou snapped as he stood up.
“Do you not pay attention to her and her own fucking monster pack at her mother fucking school!”
“I guess I didn’t think about that. She really did recruit them all, and she leads them when I am not around.”
“Y/n was also the one that destroyed 7 cars in a parking lot cause a guy cat called her and she couldn’t remember which one it was.”
“Matsukawa needs to stop giving people bats for their birthday.” Tendou said now with a laugh.
“Let’s fucking go drinking. We could use peace at mind for a couple more hours fucker. It will make things easier when you tell her.”
The two walked down stairs as Matsukawa was now reentering the house.
“The fuck you do?” Tendou asked him. Matsukawa stood in front of them, covered in fresh blood. His bat still in his right hand, also covered in blood.
“I was playing baseball. Matsukawa said with a laugh.

Ginga : an underrated character ?
I saw again someone describe Ginga as "the idiot one who loves burgers". It makes me so annoyed ! I don't tell you to like him, but look at him like he is and stop talking him down by summing him up at two or three details.
Tumblr media
First, he saves the world four times from the beginning of Fusion until the end of Fury.
Let's go back at the beginning of the first season. Ginga believed for MONTHS his father died before his eyes. Many people seemed to forget this traumatism... It's not because it was no true in the end that it erase everything Ginga felt and lived. He. Believed. His. Father. Was. Dead. For. MONTHS. Right in front of him. The happy-go-lucky Ginga has one of the darkest past of all the Beyblade World (I tell on purpose Beyblade and not MFB). He traveled alone for months to fight alone an organization able to (literally) kill people and a power so evil it was imprisonned for centuries. Ginga believes it was his duty (well, a big weight for someone so young...). He doesn't even whine or complain. He goes on like it's perfectly normal.
Plus, consider the guilt he feels. He doesn't success to do anything to save his father. A weight that combines at the others.
Despite all of this, Ginga still finds time to help people he meets (cf. Kenta vs Face Hunter). His words when he faces Kyouya, at his come back from the Wolf Canyon, are full of empathy and comprehension. He sees the sadness of Leone.
Plus, Ginga is kind of great to judge the other characters. Right after meeting Kyouya, he declares that he had potential as a blader. He doesn't bear grudge against Kyouya and Benkei despite the Face Hunter thing (and the Wolf Canyon thing for the first one, later) and accept them in his group. He holds a hand to Yuu, Helios, Aguma, Bao and Chris, while they were in the other side. Because he could tell (he was even SURE) they weren't bad people. Ginga saved Ryuuga's life despite the anger and hatred he feels first, because of his father's "death" then because Kyouya's wound. Because he sees his acts were, in part, because of the Dark Power.
But Ginga doesn't try to reach every person he meets. He doesn't hold a hand to Reiji, Busujima, Damian, Pluto, Johannes and Ragou. He knows it would be useless.
And the way he accepts the others, with their personnalities, is quite impressive. He doesn't try to change them or to force them to see the world as he sees it (he only talks to them about the Blader Spirit... because they already have one). For example, in the 105th episode, in Fury : "I can tell you I know more about him than anyone. He certainly have a self-centered , no doubt about it, in here he's filled with a heated Bey Spirit just like the rest of us". The French Version : "It's true he has an egoistic and hard side, I can acknowledge it, but in here he has a true Blader Spirit like the rest of us".
Ginga is the one who allows other characters to evolve. Kyouya was only a little gang leader when they first met (and he hadn't a tenth of the strenght he possesses after deciding he's Ginga's rival). And he would still be without Ginga (or, bored, he would have leave). Benkei too. Kenta wouldn't be able to stand up to others (and, let alone, to follow Ryuuga around). Yuu would still be at Dark Nebula's mercy. Teru wouldn't have found the Beyblade as a new passion. Etc.
(Well, none of the character would have these problems for long since the world would be destroy by the Dark Power without Ginga...)
And, like someone else point  it out, Ginga is also smart in Beybattle. Without any help, he finds how to conquer Leone's tornado only by seeing his scarf sweeping away in the wind. He also locates the true Aquario in the midst of its illusions by using the sun's reflection on the metal. He found the time to think about that kind of details in the heart of a battle.
BONUS
About his love for burgers... So what ? As if many people doesn't have any favorite food they could eat almost every day, without tiring of it... He  is allowed to act as a kid now and again, isn't he ? (plus, Koma is kind of a godforsaken place... burgers are surely a new discovery for him...)

Mob Psycho Characters Playing Minecraft (Headcanons)
Shigeo
He starts with creative mode, just to get the gist of it, before finally heading into survival but on peaceful. Then he’ll do survival easy mode and just stay on that tier forever, until he feels more confident to up his game a little higher.
Only played because Telepathy club was playing and he heard the word “Mob” and was like; “Did you call me?” and the club goes “nah fam, it Minecraft.” “what’s Minecraft.” Boom he plays.
Most likely to have a farm with a lot of cows
Has a dirt house/villager’s house on the first night and stops at just that.
Not much of a great builder
Takes forever to get diamonds
Dies often, but not too much. Just often enough for him to lose a few good iron pickaxes.
Always goes to bed once it’s night.
Most likely to have a pet cat
He just plays for fun, when he’s bored and stuff. So he doesn’t go as far as to defeating the ender dragon. He’ll travel to the nether though, just for potion making
But he does play a heck more when Teru’s around, or when the Telepathy club invites him.
He awaits for a frog update
Reigen
Jumps into survival hardcore right off the bat after watching one play through
Most likely to have a villager colony and farm
Makes a wooden house with windows and stuff on the first night with a furnace and a crafting table and a bed. The essentials. But he won’t stay in one house often and will move a lot
He can build, but he’s pretty amateur at it, he’s a fast learner though so he could easily replicate houses he see online
He’s the type of guy that never stops mining until he finds diamonds, which means he makes sure he’s at 13-11y in coordinates, has a shit ton of extra pickaxes, and stacks upon stacks of torches. Once he finds them goodies, he heads on home and repeats the cycle
He’ll defeat the ender dragon if he’s bored enough or when someone challenges/pays him to.
Same goes with The Wither
Will skip Minecraft sleep very often and will only go to bed when the phantom starts attacking
Most likely to have many many pet dogs, each one of them have name tags.
When he dies, he gets mad for a few hours, then jumps right back in. He doesn’t die all that often though, so he won’t rage quit.
He gets the minecraft books later on and you can see him reading it under his table time to time
Ritsu
He starts off with easy or normal without much knowledge on the game, probably only played because Shigeo introduced him to or Shou bugged him about it.
He’ll have a farm, but just for resources. Won't have much animals, mostly crops. He’ll live next to a village if there is one.
His first house will also be a dirt house, he’ll improve it overtime and add more levels and decorations. It can get very pretty in the end and he’ll be content to just stay and keep adding more to his house.
Not the best builder, but good enough for people to compliment it. He feels especially proud when Shigeo likes them, so he’s keen on building better and more.
He plans before he mines, calculates how many torches he needs and plans out what he’s exactly looking for, even calculates how many hunger bars each food item will fill before taking it with him.
If he gets really into the game, he’ll defeat the ender dragon, wither and head on into the nether. Not in that order though.
Will sleep if he doesn’t need to do anything
Most likely to have pets, perhaps a cat, or a dog, or a parrot. Only one though.
When he dies, he accepts it and moves on. Though, that would rarely happen.
Recently got into a forced Minecraft marriage with Shou. Is it forced if he enjoyed it though?
Teru
This bitch really just gonna jump right into survival just to flex on Shigeo.
Duh, of course he’ll have a farm. Will probably talk to the animals.
His first house is either borrowed from a villager or built with wood, but it’ll definitely not be a simple ass wooden house. It will be a nice fucking mansion, just watch him, he will. He’ll fight all the mobs he needs to just to built this mansion right off the bat, doesn’t even care if the first night he sleeps roofless.
Really good at building, because he wants to compete with Ritsu for fun and boast about it to Shigeo. Shigeo would just clap and be like “Wow so cool.”
“Thanks, made it myself, I can make one for you.” Shigeo declines, he’s an independent man, which makes Teru a mixture of disappointment and oh-my-god-you’re-adorable???
He doesn't plan when he mines, he just estimates and half ass some stuff before he struts into the cave. Sometimes he gets lost, but that’s perfectly fine.
Will defeat every mob boss and mob ever to show Shigeo he’s very powerful.
Doesn’t sleep, fights the phantom instead. Will sleep if Shigeo asks him to.
Most likely to have a pet cat, but he doesn’t mind dogs.
When he dies, he’s an angry baby and makes up some excuse as to why he’s dead. “I was distracted, didn’t see the lava. Whoops I guess ha ha no big deal.” But it is a big deal, he lost his diamonds, he wants to give it to his boyfriend but he cannot. Because he died.
Has yet to marry Shigeo in Minecraft.
Shou
Plays because he is a gamer. Survival hardcore ftw. He only plays multiplayer with Ritsu these days, never single player because he has been playing Minecraft his whole childhood and it gets boring on his own.
What’s a fucking farm? I take my food from my Minecraft husband.
Sleeps in a cave, but if Ritsu’s done with the house, he joins his bed with him and sleeps under a roof.
But he’s really really good at building, probably the best next to Serizawa. If you gave him the resources and time, he can recreate Seasoning City.
A concerning miner, jumps in with just torches and a pickaxe and somehow still survives (mostly because Ritsu always goes looking for him)
Could probably easily defeat the bosses because he has already done it so many times
Will only sleep when Ritsu is, which is almost all the time.
He owns every kind of animal.
He dies too many times because he really doesn’t mind, it makes Ritsu mad and that’s what keeps him going.
Shou was suffocated in sand.
“S H O U.” Ritsu yells at the boy next to him.
Was the one that proposed to Ritsu, invited everyone to the wedding; including Serizawa and Reigen.
Serizawa
Played while he was still hiding in his home, so he knows everything about the game when he finally played it with Reigen or the kids.
He loves farming, even the animals, it’s oddly calming to take care of something that won’t die unless he hits em.
He always collects resources first before he actually starts building a home, so he always sleeps in a cave or a villager’s house.
After years of experience, he became really good at building, he use to spend time recreating maps from other games. But he says Shou is better than him, the boy disagrees.
Yeah he mines, but he’s wary of dying when he heads into the cave, so he always brings too many torches.
Makes sure he is very very prepared before defeating bosses
Always sleeps in time, because Reigen said so. Well, because Reigen advised it, what a hypocrite am I right?
Doesn’t have pets, and even if he does, he always make them stay put at one place.
Doesn’t die all that often, almost not at all.
He pretends to not be good at the game when Reigen’s around, he mostly lets the other do what they wanna do because he loves watching his husband play.
“Serizawa! Look, I made the zombie villager back into a villager!” Reigen pointed, Serizawa smiles and nods. He already knew how to do that, but Reigen’s discovery makes it feel he discovered something new himself.
Tome
Bro this woman is so experienced to a point everyone consults her for tips.
She’s building up to find aliens in minecraft, even though they don’t exist, but she’s convinced they’re an easter egg or something.
No, she doesn’t farm. She takes em from the villagers, but she has a few beehives here and there.
She’s only mining to find diamonds as a peace offering to minecraft aliens.
One time she thought the Wither was an alien.
One time, she thought the phantom was an alien.
One time she thought the ghast was an alien.
Has died multiple times because she is careless, but she is never upset about it. Always jumps right back into the game immediately.
Parrots are her pets, because they f l y and d a n c e.
One time she thought the creepers were aliens.
She has this summoning circle made of redstone and torches in case there really are aliens.
She believes in herobrine and sometimes tries to summon him.
She thinks the aliens made the temples in minecraft.
Other Characters
Minegishi has so many bees and flowers and crops it’s almost covering the whole map.
Takenaka plays because it’s very quiet and calming
Shimazaki cannot play. He is blind.
Shou’s old resistance team use to play with him, now they sometimes play together as a trio when Shou is playing with Ritsu.
Mukai and Tsuchi play because Mukai wanted to, she has a lot of armor stands in her house.
Tsubomi does not play, she played once and didn’t enjoy it all that much, but she’s perfectly happy watching her friends play.
Emi roleplays in minecraft.
Mezato doesn’t play, but she likes watching minecraft videos on youtube, mostly the theories.
Everyone in the awakening lab plays, Kurosaki is fantastic at mining because she always knows which way are the mobs and which way are the diamonds. Asahi is an arsonist.
Minori once got invited by Shigeo to play, then she proceeded to buy minecraft and everything in it to impress him. Shigeo only congratulated her once. Contemplating buying the whole of Mojang, but she’s a good girl now so she won’t.
Hoshida plays to impress Tome. Too bad, son, she’s not into you.

Word Count:
For Chapter: ~2700words
Questions/Comments/Concerns/Ideas welcome as always.
So let me just say, I am an actual idiot. Like, not only are the twins not third years, but neither are 3 of my favorites to write for in this story. Like Futa, Teru and Aone are all actually second years as well as the twins! And, this, this was facts that I knew! How ridiculous is that, huh? I just deemed 5 second years third years in my mind in order to include them. Oh well though hahah.
I'm not changing the characters. I just changed the descriptions hahah.
Anywho, Hope you all liked the random/differentness that was this chapter.
Let me know your thoughts and such, i love getting comments on this and have been trying pretty hard to respond every time (whether on AO3 or tumblr).
Enjoy!

Chapter 8: Enemy Meeting
Daishou stepped away from the slain body, a smile on his features as he moved towards the main hall of the castle, to await meeting with the King and others.
He’d passed a few windows overlooking the front square and did a double take at the amount of bodies littered on Camelot’s grounds.
‘This can’t be!’ His thoughts shouted at him. Looking over the fallen he counted less than twenty palace guards. Not a single knight of Camelot, nor the Red Knight or their squire. ‘What happened? We had surprise on our side! How did none of them die?!’
Daishou, in his anger, flared his hands and mini explosions were heard as his power crashed into the sides of the wall near them. He took a few breaths to calm himself before moving on, readying his mind to take the idiotic King’s prideful boasting and his knights’ encouraging about the oh-so-great power of Camelot. Gagging a bit, he made to the room he’d intended to reach from the get go.
Not seeing any sign of his actual enemies having failed in their defenses on his trek to the center of the castle made the Lord’s mood sour further, but when he entered the War Hall to see it empty he’d regained some confidence. “Mayhaps the idiots needed help in the South. Hopefully a few were cut down.”
Hearing some scuffle, Daishou stopped speaking to himself and cursed a spell on the door to see who passed, listening in on the conversation held by the approaching group.
“I will be telling our King about your recklessness, let him deal with your stupidity.” The silver haired guest said, anger clear on his face as he walked in front of the Red Knight. “That was actually the worst decision you could have possibly had. Jumping into the middle of the fray from a hole in the third story. Are you that much of an idiot? That eager to fight? Idiot. Absolute imbecile and the undisputed champion of stupid decision making. You will not receive breakfast tomorrow either. Take that as a punishment. See if I leave you any chocolates in your baggage either.”
Daishou watched as the Knight was clearly displeased with the stolen sweet comment the most as he reached out and stopped his companion directly in front of the mirrored door the Lord had generated.
The squire turned once he was brought to a halt. “Fine, I won’t take your stupid chocolates. But I will come up with two additional punishments to your not getting breakfast.”
Nodding in acceptance, the Red Knight motioned for his squire to continue moving.
“Actually, I have a question.” The King’s servant faced the pair, letting Daishou continue his eavesdropping as none moved from his portal view. Futakuchi faced the pair, “You agreed to participate in the festival the King proposed as a make-shift apology. But didn’t speak to your squire before accepting to be fighters. Which really does make it seem like you may just be impatient to fight, but here is my question. And, I hope you take no offense to it. But, is it really enough that he put on a tournament to appease the grievances done against you?”
Though he only had a slight understanding of what the servant referred to, Daishou was honestly awaiting an answer as well. If the actions towards the pair were so unjust that they’d considered leaving their mission unfinished, why could something so simple turn the tide.
The squire looked to his Knight before facing the servant once more, apparently answering for the pair. “Though this is the first I’ve heard of it, I can tell you now that Yomimasu’s intentions are not about the fighting aspect. Though I guess I am the one who just said they were eager to fight…” He seemed to think a moment before continuing, “After we left the dinning hall and returned to our current rooms, we discussed things. And, we came to the decision that you all had just as much a point in being upset with us as we’d gotten with you. We are guests of Camelot, despite any pretense of our mission or who we are in the Red Knight Order, that is who we are here. Guests. And, upon our arrival we gave demands with hardly any explanation. Then continued to demand privacy for our belongings. Having wanted to keep a secret the lineage amongst us. Since we were as much to blame about a bad start, the two of us determined the best course of action was to make amends first thing in the morning. Neither of us expected tonight’s outcome. And if given the chance to rectify our initial opinions of one another so soon, I can see why the Red Knight would agree without consulting me.”
Apparently Futakuchi accepted the explanation, because Daishou watched the three leave his field of vision and no longer heard their conversations.
He cursed that the pair obviously helped in the fight, and cursed further that someone had fired a shot warning those inside to the attack earlier than had they just stormed the castle as directed.
_______________________________
“Kuroo, please excuse my sudden shift in decision, but I’ve just been called by another Lord to assist with a problem down south. My journey will not permit me to be here for your tournament.” Daishou commented to his half-brother amidst the celebratory drinks the Knights of Camelot were having in the War Hall.
The King just smiled at the Lord, “Of course! Do you need anyone to assist in your journey, brother?”
Smiling over a thinly veiled scowl, Daishou shook his head, “Thank you for the offer, your Highness. But recusing myself from the tournament could already be a slight towards your guests, and I’d hate to make it worse by taking some of your best and most entertaining knights.” The pair of men laughed at the joke before the Lord continued his practiced lie, “Besides, Camelot is just coming off of a strong win in defending her walls. Let the men enjoy themselves.”
“Your concern for their happiness is well noted, and much appreciated, Daishou. I’m just sorry I didn’t think to send someone to you in the heat of the battle. I never thought they’d stray to your part of the castle.” Kuroo seemed to be thoroughly apologetic, but he quickly resumed grinning and held his goblet up to stand for a toast, “Men! Let us cheer! To the power of Camelot’s forces, to your power, and to the prosperity of a great tournament to come!”
“Yes!”
“CHEERS!”
“To Camelot!”
“To victory!”
“To the fight!”
“To the King!”
Different shouts were heard across the room. But once someone shouted to the king, the rest followed. Until Daishou whispered under his breath, in a way only he could hear himself amongst all the joyous rokous, “Yes, to the true King of Camelot.”

Days later, Daishou was facing the ruins of a century old castle atop his perfect steed.
The horse whinnied at the overwhelming dark presence before it and reared as he took a few paces back. Obviously fearful of the unseen energy before him.
Dismounting and tying his steed to a post, Daishou made his own way into the castle’s grounds.
“You’re late.” A voice called to him from the shadows of the interior square.
Facing the caller before responding, Daishou smiled, “Yes, well. You couldn’t very well expect me to lead the men the King had following me here, could you?”
“Does the idiot King actually have a brain cell to distrust you?” The man commented back, sticking to the shadows until hearing a preferred answer.
Camelot’s Lord laughed out towards the sky, “Never, he wanted me to have extra protection as I have gone to help our ally.”
“He really is the stupidest King to take Camelot’s throne,” The male voiced as he finally stepped into the light shining into the square. “I take it you bring news too delicate to message?”
Nodding, the Lord motioned for his companion to lead them somewhere they could sit comfortably while they spoke.

“Daishou, I thought only one Red Knight and a squire came to Camelot?” The light-brown-haired male questioned, “And, you said Ushijima and Asahi, two of Camelot’s strongest, were not there. We held the element of surprise, and yet only twenty men made it back to the strong hold. Twenty, out of eight-hundred. What the hell happened?”
Daishou winced at the tone he was being addressed with, but recovered quickly as he’d expected the reaction, “One of the men ruined the art of surprise by blowing a hole in the castle wall directly in view of the square where the main forces were targeting. I imagine only three-hundred ever made it inside the castle from that poor decision. And the knights had been spread out, the fight became child’s play to them.” He scowled as he recalled the bodies littered in the front of Camelot’s main gate and thought of the guests who fought in Camelot’s defense even after being scorned by the so-called-King. “The Red Knight and his man were the most bothersome though. Killing nearly a third of forces between just them two. How is that possible? You didn’t tell me they’d be that strong.”
The partner’s eyes blew back in surprise, hearing how many men fell to the hands of his old home’s people, getting a strange look on his face after he thought for a moment. “What can you tell me of the Red Knight? Or rather, his squire since I assume he hasn’t revealed much of anything of himself yet.”
“May I, Oikawa?” The Lord questioned, hand already reaching for the head of the person sitting next to him.
Nodding his allowance, the male kept his head stationary, as to accept the visual memories of his companion.
Daishou whispered a phrase beneath his breath and Oikawa’s head shot back as visions filled his mind of just who had attended Camelot as a squire to the Red Knight in visiting Camelot.
When the pair separated, both had heaving chests, as they were trying to regulate their breathing after an intense trade of magic.
“No, it couldn’t have been…” Oikawa whispered to himself.
“You know him?” Daishou questioned as he scooted further in his seat away from his supposed companion.
Oikawa shook his head, “I knew him when I lived with the Order. But he’d never left his cousin’s side. I can’t imagine who'd he follow out to Camelot. And to have him, one of the smartest Knights in the Order regulated to nothing but a squire, must mean this Red Knight is in a class of their own. I can’t imagine who it would be though.” The circling thoughts seemed to attack Oikawa’s mind as his eyes moved from side to side in his confusion, his voice dissipated into nothing as he spoke in circles, and he fell deaf to Daishou’s calls.
Before he let the confusion last too long, Daishou leaned in and captured Oikawa’s lips with his own, kissing the man back to his own self. When the Lord felt the kiss being returned with twice as much force, he pulled away. “I don’t mind, whatever the issue. Just let me in on it so I can help. We want the same thing. You to be knighted in Camelot, and I to sit upon the throne. These things will only come to pass if you let me in though.”
“Yes, you are correct.” Oikawa recognized before sighing deeply and explaining to the best of his ability. “Before I was exiled from the Order, that man, the squire, his name is Sugawara. He was on a fast track to become the youngest Red Knight since the King’s grandfather. Everyone praised his intelligence, ability to stay calm, and to keep others refreshed in the heat of battle. But, his downfall is that he wouldn’t leave his cousin’s side. She was the Princess, and for a time we were all close. But, when my mother tried to assassinate the King, and she just happened to get hurt playing with me the next day, the King took it to mean I was trying to kill her. She didn’t believe that was the case and convinced her father to exile me instead of killing me, but in my rage I attacked Sugawara. I left with everyone believing I was a traitor. But no one held more control over Sugawara than the Princess. And her father was adamant she’d never be a Red Knight. I recall that in journeys, the one presented as the Red Knight is supposed to be the strongest, while the one presented as the squire is still technically a Red Knight, just not as strong. With all their rules about not talking and such, it makes sense to have someone free to discuss openly with others. If Sugawara is demoted to squire for this journey, I have no clue who could be marked as the Red Knight. Had I known it was Sugawara fighting, I would have drastically changed things, maybe as far as recalling the attack order.”
Daishou had to take a few moments to process everything he’d just heard. He’d try to start a comment back multiple times, but every one of them failed as the words got caught in his throat or his mind wandered to trying to prioritize a different idea. It was a full five minutes until he’d responded coherently.
“So, these Knights could prove to be worse adversaries than anyone in Camelot?” He asked tentatively.
“Yes.” Oikawa responded matter-of-factly.
Daishou shook his head, and stood to pace a bit, “If Camelot ends up reconnecting with them, and gets the Order on his side, things would be even harder, wouldn’t they?”
“Yes,” Oikawa repeated in the exact same manner.
“Then we have no choice,” Daishou turned to face the sitting male, “We must rebuild our forces, and come up with a plan that will utterly destroy each the Red Knight, his squire, and Camelot’s Knights before the King gets his wish of reuniting with the order.”
Looking up at the smiling face of his companion, Oikawa thought he saw the outline of a horned serpent. The evil thoughts protruding from his mind clear for anyone to see, just as his own once were.
“Agreed, but for now, we should take the time provided to us by your deceit to Kuroo. How long can you stay this time?”
“Perhaps a week.” Daishou answered off handedly, already thinking through different attack strategies. “Do you think we could call upon the Sphinx? He owes us for getting his stupidly simple riddle correct last time. Mayhaps he would devour the idiots of Camelot for us.”
Oikawa shook his head before he went to the side of his companion, wrapped his arms around the dark-haired male’s waist and whispered in his ear, “Mayhaps, it is time to retire this line of thought for another day and to go relax and...catch up.”
Daishou half turned to face the smiling light-haired man leaning against his backside. He grinned back, “Agreed, we can discuss Camelot’s and Kuroo’s downfall tomorrow.”
The pair entered the passages leading inside the castle’s ruins, neither male regarding the rolling dark clouds approaching their hideout as they ignored the outside world for a few hours.
_____________________________________
“Oikawa,” Daishou called his retreating partner from atop his steed, “You harbor no feelings towards the members of the Order, correct? Because if you do, all of this is for naught. Tell me now, was all this for nothing?”
The light-haired brunette thought of his old home, everyone he knew as a young boy, and how his life progressed since being exiled. “The only person I would ever listen to from the Order would never leave. There is no doubt in my mind, when we strike Camelot next time, they won’t stand in our way. You will be King, Daishou.”
“And you, a proper knight. Until we meet again, Oikawa.” The Lord responded before kicking his horse in high gear and dashing deep into the forest, returning at once to Camelot after more than a week gone.

23. One du'a can change a day, from bad to good. One good day can change a life, from worst to better. And one better life can change others, or even the world. So pray. And make a du'a. It will change you, and hopefully, helps you change others and this world.
24. Beautiful things remain in memories even though separation is hurt. But the world goes on.

Chapter 6: January 6, 2011
Summary: All hell breaks loose.
AN: HERE WE GO LESBIANS THIS IS THE PENULTIMATE CHAPTER.  Okay, excitement aside, when Light screams and collapses, google search “Light Yagami confession italian” - first result on youtube is the one you want. Would also recommend google searching “Struts somebody new” after the January 22 pagebreak, but it isn’t mandatory. I just like to torture my readers. TWs: death of a loved one, suicide, burning. Ask to tag.
ffn.online
“How’s it going, Gevanni?” Rester asked.
“I haven’t been able to confirm the presence of a Shinigami for the past week. And Mikami’s still on his regular routine.”
“I think it’s safe now,” Near said.
“Huh?”
(Poor guy looked wiped the fuck out, no wonder he was a bit slow in the brain area.)
“I want you to get your hands on the notebook again when you go to the gym tomorrow. And this time, take photographs of all the pages.”
“Photographs?” Rester repeated.
“Yes. I want to see for myself how the names are actually written. Most of Kira’s killings occur after midnight, but I want to find out if that’s because of Mikami’s clockwork life, or if he’s controlling the time of death. And if there are any rules to the way he writes the names down, if he has any habits… What does this notebook look like? Its appearance, front cover, back cover. I want to see all the small details with my own eyes.”
“All right.”
January 7 “So, what do you think, Near?” Rester asked.
“Gevanni has done well.”
“That’s not what I meant!” Rester sounded exasperated, and Naomi couldn’t hold in a snicker.
“Relax, Rester. This will all go more or less smoothly,” Naomi said.
“You sound convinced.”
Because if I die I see Raye again. And if I don’t, I get revenge. Either way, I’ll be at peace and I can move on.
“The handwriting on this matches Mikami’s handwriting on the investigation records he wrote as a prosecutor. This is definitely written by Mikami," Near said.
“Right.”
“Apart from Demegawa and the man on the train, everyone else’s name is written in after midnight. And only their names have been written down. A page per day. He stops killing people when the page is full. Yes, looks like I can put my plan into action.
“Commander Rester, get me Gevanni. … The photographs are very clear. We should be able to do it, then,” Near said.
“Right…?”
“But I was expecting the killer notebook to be much stranger, with some kind of magical power radiating from it. But it really is an ordinary notebook, just like Mello said.”
“Like he’d have a reason to lie when he came to HQ for an exchange?” Naomi pointed out.
“Still, you never know.”
“Either way, it still looks like a regular college notebook.”
“I can see that,” Naomi said.
“Anyways, the important thing is that your name isn’t written down in this, Gevanni,” Near said.
“Uh huh.”
“The notebook at the Japanese task force headquarters is under Mr Aizawa’s surveillance. So long as this notebook isn’t possessed by a Shinigami, I think it’s safe to say that you’re not being controlled by another Kira.”
“I told you that I’m fine. Do I look like I’m being controlled? If I was, I wouldn’t have been able to take those photographs in the first place,” Gevanni replied, distinctly peeved. Ah, I remember the days I’d be annoyed at a superior for supposed micromanagement.
“Just to be safe, please go down to the hospital to receive a complete physical exam to see if you’ve developed any illness.”
“Okay…”
“If you’re still alive 23 days after the first time you touched the notebook—on January 23rd—it means there was no Shinigami possessing the notebook when you touched it, and Mikami doesn’t know about you. And if there is no Shinigami, then there should be no problem with you tailing him, so after January 23rd, at the first possible opportunity, we’re going to settle this fight once and for all.
“Until then, we’ll concentrate on Light Yagami, Kiyomi Takada, and Teru Mikami—as we’ve been doing so far. But there’s one last thing we must do—every one of us, but especially you, Gevanni… I’m going to have to ask you to do something.”
Naomi exhaled and laid on her back. It was quickly approaching five in the morning, and she hadn’t slept since she woke up at six the previous day. Nausea was starting to set in. Whether it was from the sleep deprivation or the fact that she could only stomach liquid, only time would tell.
She stood and walked to the kitchen for what felt like the fifth time that day. Rester had went to sleep roughly an hour ago, and Gevanni had came in about 45 minutes ago. Stupidly enough, she was thinking about when Lidner would next come in.
Stupid.
Her and Lidner hadn’t seen much of each other since that spat and the fact that Lidner had the luck to come into that bodyguard job, but she managed to luck out—in its loosest form of use—and meet with Lidner.
“Listen, I really do want to say that I’m sorry for… bringing up your fiance like that,” Lidner said, cringing as she paused. “I definitely crossed a line and I’m sorry.”
Part of Naomi had wanted to say that she should fucking well be; there are plenty of things that are off limits and bringing up dead people close to you is one of them. Before she knew it, she was nodding. “I definitely shouldn’t have snapped at you as quickly as I did—even in having my grief prodded at like that.”
Lidner nodded. “It’s all right, I don’t blame you. Truce?”
They shook hands.
She was grateful to not have that to worry about, to say the least. The last thing she needed was to be perpetually kicking herself for spilling her guts to Lidner like that and reacting the way she did.
January 22 “It went well. I did everything you said.”
“Okay.” Vertebrae cracked in Near’s neck as he rotated it to get a closer look at his action figure. “Now, I want you to keep your eyes on Mikami as you’ve been doing, until the 24th. If you don’t notice anything different about Mikami by then, we’ll go head to head against L right away.”
Lidner walked in at midnight.
“Oh. You’re still here,” she said.
Naomi nodded. “Fortunately or not. I can’t sleep for the life of me.”
“Yeah, I feel you. Gevanni’s whiny ass is constantly talking about how screwed up his sleep schedule is, but I can’t say as I blame the man. Near gave me the rundown as to what was going on. Sounds exciting.” Lidner wiggled her toes as she stepped out of her heels. Naomi didn’t envy her.
“Agreed.” And here was the part that stuck in Naomi’s throat even as she rehearsed what she’d say. “Um, listen… if all doesn’t go well when we meet with L, I do want to say that I—”
Emotionally, it felt like Naomi had been hit in the chest with a sack of bricks. She didn’t feel it physically, thankfully, because that was always a sign that a panic attack was coming—and no one wanted to have a panic attack in front of a woman they were even remotely into.
She exhaled. “I’m going about this badly. I’m sorry if I’m wasting your time.”
“It’s all right. I think I’m overdue for having my time wasted by someone that’s not Kiyomi Takada.”
Naomi nodded, too wired to laugh however briefly. “I’m trying to say that I have f—” She winced. “I have fff—I like you a lot. A lot, a lot.”
“I would hope so. Having two coworkers at each others throats isn’t conducive to an environment like this one.” Lidner cleared her throat. “Lampshading aside, I…”
“I mean it’s fine if you don’t reciprocate I was just—” Naomi really regretted this now. Regret plus feeling like you’re replacing your dead fiance isn’t exactly conducive to coherency of a confession of romantic feelings of your coworker to said coworker.
“Hey! It’s all good. Truth be told, I like you that much too.”
Naomi exhaled. One thing out of her way. “But the thing is… I mean, I don’t want to presume or anything—”
“I don’t think you’d be presuming anything.” Lidner ran her tongue along her lower teeth. “If you’re talking about getting into a romantic relationship, I can say as I’m not ready for it.”
“Oh—Jesus, that’s a relief—I mean, I’m not either.” Naomi hit herself upside the head. “This is coming out badly.”
“It’s all good, I get what you’re trying to say. In the future, perhaps, but…”
She nodded. “Yeah, it’s not a good idea. And working for Near in the middle of the most controversial case in the world is a full time job.”
“Agreed.”
In an unexpected reaction, Lidner leaned forward and pressed a quick kiss to Naomi’s cheek. She retreated down the hall. Naomi didn’t realize she was repressing tears until her entire head and neck began to ache.
January 25 “I think this plan’s going to work,” Rester said.
“Gevanni here.” He cleared his throat. “I’ve checked the notebook. It’s been one page per day, as always, for the past three days. Those who’ve been killed match with the names in the notebook as well. And there’s nothing different about Mikami.”
“I see…”
“Everything’s set,” Rester said.
“Yes.”
Near called L two and some change hours later. “L.”
“What is it, Near?” L asked.
“I want to meet you.”
“Uh huh…”
“There’s something I must show you that pertains to the Kira case.”
So is that how he’s phrasing things? But I suppose that’s better sounding than “I’m about to show your entire team who you are and completely destroy you and your reputation with them.”
“But if you think I’m Kira, right? Then you shouldn’t want to show your face to me.”
“Well, I can’t really show you anything unless I show my face. Showing my face will reveal something, of course, and then will bring the case to a close.”
“Very well. I want you to realize that you’re wrong.”
You have a lot of nerve to say that, don’t you? You know, that arrogance will be what brings you down.
And I can’t wait to watch it happen.
“There are several rules I must ask you to follow in order for us to meet.”
“Go ahead. You’re the one who suspects me of being Kira, so I’m sure you want to state which conditions we meet under. We don’t have any.”
“First of all, investigators from both sides are to be there. In other words, everyone who is looking for Kira will be there when we meet each other.”
“Why all of our investigators?”
“If you and I are to meet face to face, there ought to be witnesses. And even if I succeed in proving that you’re Kira, you could always take the extreme of strangling me.” Near’s brow furrowed as he added, “We’ve all been risking our lives to find Kira. if I prove Kira’s identity there, then everyone has the right—no, the responsibility—to attend. And by having everyone there, I want to make sure that any information about this meeting or my face doesn’t go public.” Near took a breath. “Everyone on this case will see what happens at this meeting—and after they see the outcome and the reality of the whole story, we’ll cooperate and decide what to do next.”
“Okay, I’m fine with that.”
Near moved his hand closer to the Misa figurine he made, hands splayed almost like an OK sign. “As I said before, there are five of us, including me. That’s everyone in the SPK. I’ll have Mr Mogi, who I’m keeping in my custody, accompany me there. I’ll release Amane before that—” and to demonstrate, he flicked the figurine, “and be sure not to tell her where we’ll be meeting.” The figurine rolled. “You can meet me after you make sure she’s actually been released. How does that sound?”
“Very well.”
Near began to stand. “Mr Aizawa will be able to tell you if the five people you see, plus Mr Mogi, are the real members of the SPK.”
“To me, it doesn’t really matter if the person who appears there is Near or not. You’ve just been stressing that point because you believe that I’m Kira, and that I won’t appear unless I know that you’re really going to come—right?”
Near paused, considering his actions.
What sort of attempted checkmate is this? You know this, the task force knows this, the rest of us know this. And the task force is—I assume—not largely full of idiots. And I’d think you’d have learned your lesson after the whole Lind L Tailor incident almost a decade ago.
“We’ve had many conversations like this in the past. Even if I don’t know your face, I’m sure I can figure out if it’s the real you once I talk to you in person. But I’ll make sure to have Aizawa tell me to double check.”
“I agree with that…”
I think, if I took a scalpel and some other tools to his skull, I’d find the gears turning in his head, Naomi thought.
“We have five investigators including me and Mogi. You’ll have to trust me on that. We’re a small group of people chasing Kira in a world like this, so I’d like to quickly settle this problem and cooperate with you and your team.”
“Very well…” Near settled into a position almost similar to her unprivate detective acquaintance in LA. “As for the place we’re going to meet, I’m thinking of one where the people inside can’t be seen from the outside.”
“You suspect me of being Kira, so it’s the natural thing to do.”
“I want it to be a place that can’t be seen even with telescopic lenses and whatnot, so I’d rather it had four walls and a roof.”
“Do you have some place in mind?"
“Daikoku Wharf. There’s an abandoned warehouse on the southeast side, called the yellow box. If that’s fine with you, I’ve taken the liberty of buying it. There’s nothing around it, and the place is empty as well. I’m sending you an image.”
Near smirked. “It’s not locked, so you can go and see it for yourself whenever you want to. And if you don’t like it, I can look for another place.” He smiled toothily. “And each of us can check for hidden cameras when we enter the building.”
“Do you have any other requirements to make sure that your face isn’t known to anyone outside of that warehouse?"
“Yes. I’d like to prohibit any communication equipment when you enter. That’s to ensure that nothing that goes on on the inside gets leaked. And to be sure that no one takes a photograph of me on their phone.”
Naomi held in laughter. What a nice callback to the incident with the girl on the train.
“No communication equipment. Okay.”
“I’d also like someone apart from L to bring the notebook from your headquarters.”
“Why do you need it?"
Near reached for a clay replica of the notebook. “Simple. If every one of you leaves the headquarters, no one will be left to guard the notebook. I promise you that I won’t try to take it from you. And I’ll refrain from touching it. If Mr Aizawa claims that the notebook you brought is the one from headquarters, I’ll believe it. But, again, please make sure that someone other than L is carrying it. Understood?”
“Very well, Near. But I can’t overlook the chances of you conspiring with someone on my side to steal the notebook. I won’t carry the notebook, but I’ll choose who carries it. Is that okay?”
“Yes. The only thing that’s left to settle is the date and time of our meeting.” Near got onto all fours.
“Of course…”
“How about three days from now, on the 28th at one PM?”
“Any time’s fine with us.”
“Remember, three days from now at three o’clock.”
“Yes.”
January 26 “Near, Mello kidnapped Takada,” Lidner relayed.
Near paused. “Lidner, have you been leaking information about our investigation to Mello?”
Lidner paused. “Yes… But I haven’t told him about Mikami.”
“If that’s the case, we should still be okay. But if Mello finds out about Mikami from Takada and seeks him out, this will all be a waste. I want you to find Takada—no. I want you to stop Mello at all costs.”
“But—”
Near’s tone brokered no argument: “Do it.”
“All right.”
Near called L.
A task force member said, “It’s Near. Maybe it’s his usual ‘I took the liberty of confining her’ routine.”
“L, I’m not the one who kidnapped Takada.”
“I see. Then that means… Mello.”
“Yes. I’ll be honest with you. The individual I have guarding Takada has told me so.”
“Near, don’t you have means of contacting him?”
“It’s no use. I can try to contact Mello, but he’ll never respond to me. He must plan on capturing Kira himself, using Takada as bait.” Near pouted and twirled around the microphone. “I didn’t want him interfering for the next three days, and I really do mean that.”
“Very well. I trust your words and I believe that you’re not collaborating with Mello.”
“I’m going to track them down with everything I’ve got.”
“I’ll do the same.”
“So, please keep your eyes on Mikami as long as possible, making sure to arrive at Daikoku Wharf by one PM on the 28th.” Everyone in the room minus Lidner gave acknowledgement.
The screen beeped. “It’s Lidner,” Rester said.
“Get her on the screen please.”
“Near.”
“Yes?”
“I’m sorry. I never thought that Mello would…”
“It’s okay.” Near moved down to eye level with his figurines. “Everything will be fine so long as Light Yagami goes through with our meeting as planned.”
He called L.
“L.”
“Yes?”
“Granted, we’ve had some distractions. But I want to confirm our meeting is staying where it was.”
“Of course.”
“As for our conditions—they’ll remain in place. Right?”
You’re practically daring him to say no, aren’t you, Naomi thought.
“Yes. I didn’t set any of the conditions anyways.”
“Then I’ll see you on the 28th.”
He hung up.
“Gevanni?”
“Yes?”
Near wiggled his L figurine on his finger. Naomi wanted to crawl out of her skin. “Will you make it?”
“Yeah, no problem.”
“Commander Rester, Lidner, Gevanni, Maki… Let’s put our best into this.”
Naomi nodded.
Relief and anxiety curled up in her chest and made their homes.
January 28 “I’m heading down with Mr Mogi and Amane in my car,” Lidner reported.
“Mikami went to work at the usual time. Nothing out of the ordinary," Gevanni reported.
“Start heading over there,” Near instructed.
“Will do.”
Near called the task force.
“Good morning, everyone.” He brought a knee up to his chest and rested his temple on it. “For starters, I’ve released Amane. You can call her if you’d like to check for yourself.”
“Near, please get Mogi on the line for me. In order for us to bring the notebook, we need a PIN number that only Mogi knows.”
“I’ll get him right away.” Near patched Mogi through to the rest of the task force.
"Near, I have the notebook right here. I’ll take it along with me,” Aizawa says.
“Are you sure about Mr Aizawa handing the notebook?” Near asked.
“I’ve decided that Aizawa would be the best choice.”
If Naomi could’ve, she would’ve glared at L. This was just plain irritating. The second his face got rubbed in the fact that the SPK was right all along, she could die happy.
“Thank you. See you at the warehouse, then.”
Naomi threw up a wave as Aizawa entered the warehouse. The plastic L mask still made her skin crawl.
And then the task force entered.
She could’ve sworn that she saw just a hint of recognition on Light Yagami’s face.
Hm.
“Those are definitely the SPK. Near’s the one with the mask.”
“Yes,” Mogi said. “I was with Near even before he put the mask on. It sure is him.”
“Whether the real Near is here or not is of no interest to me,” Yagami said.
Naomi clenched her jaw, biting back a retort of something like “you clearly haven’t learned your lesson from the Lind L Tailor incident.”
“Wait a minute,” a task force member said, “I don’t care who he accuses of being Kira. But that mask proves he’s only trying to protect only himself.”
“It would be kind of redundant to hide our faces, seeing as how all but one of us have been sighted by Takada before,” Naomi muttered.
“Matsuda, Near thinks I’m Kira. It can’t be helped,” Yagami said.
“He was talking so much about seeing you face to face. It’s not fair!”
Naomi was beginning to get a headache.
It was about to get worse.
“I’m telling you,” Yagami said, and that alone made Naomi want to claw at him and beat him to a pulp, “Near has his own ideas about what’s going on here, so it’s not going to help if we complain about it. Let’s get on with this.”
Near smirked thinly and touched the mask. “This mask is just insurance.”
He was in for it, no matter if he was taken into their custody.
“Insurance?” Matsuda repeated.
“I’m confident that both Kira and the person being ordered to do the killings—X Kira—don’t know my face. But there’s a possibility that everyone else’s face is known to these individuals in question.” He knocked down the figurines of the SPK. “Of course, this is all assuming that L is Kira. So, since the time and place for our meeting was decided upon three days ago, there’s a chance that everyone else’s name, excluding mine, may already be written down in the notebook to be killed.
“If that were to happen, only Kira and I would be left, and all Kira would have to do is write my name in the notebook that Mr Aizawa has with him right now. Though it’s my hypothesis that the Kira here doesn’t have the ability to kill just from looking at our faces.
“So, please give me an hour—no, 30 minutes—to be sure that no one else here is already marked to die by the notebook.”
“You’re waiting to see if we die?” Matsuda asked.
“That’s okay,” Yagami said. “We’ll let Near do as he likes. If not, we won’t be able to clear things up.” He turned to Near. “I believe that you’re the actual Near, and I care little about the face behind the mask. What I’d like to see is what you were going to show me pertaining to the Kira case.”
Near twirled a strand of hair. “That can only be revealed to you after I take my mask off.”
“You can’t show the evidence to us unless you take the mask off, but you’re not going to take it off? Aren’t you contradicting yourself?” Matsuda demanded.
“He means he’s going to take it off once he makes sure that everyone else remains alive,” Yagami clarified. Near confirmed as much.
You sure seem agitated, seeing as how you can’t keep Near’s stipulations straight, Naomi thought.
“It’s been more than 30 minutes—and nothing’s happened.”
“Of course,” Yagami said. “That’s because Kira isn’t here.”
Near took off the rubber band. “Very well. It seems you’re all safe. I’ll go ahead and take off the mask.”
He smirked immediately.
“Okay, so now that you’ve taken the mask off, what are you going to show us?”
“Don’t rush him,” a task force member chided.
“I’m sorry,” Near said, “but you’re going to have to wait again.”
“Again?! What are we waiting for?”
“Excuse me, do you think this is a massive waste of time or something?” Naomi asked. “If you want to prove that your leader isn’t Kira so badly, shut up and wait.”
She didn’t typically have such a short fuse or snap at people so easily. But she was face to face with the one who killed her fiance; and as much as she’d like to get this out of the way and take him into custody already, the fact that he’d have his face rubbed in the SPK’s being right would feel a little bit better than if they took him into custody without much of an explanation. And it’d help out if they could make the task force see reason.
“Oh, I’m sorry—”
Key word being if.
“Enough,” Yagami said.
“We’re waiting for the one who’ll solve everything to arrive,” Near said. He exhaled. “I assure you that this person will come. So we must wait. This building is completely sealed. The only way to look inside is to open that door right there. Therefore, this person will come through that door, or try to peek through it.”
“Who’s going to come…? This meeting was kept a secret from everyone except those who are here right now.”
“That’s right. So the person coming is X-Kira, Kira’s most loyal follower, who learned about our location from none other than Kira himself.” He paused. “Mr Aizawa. You kept an eye on L even after Takada died, right?”
“Yes.”
“Then X-Kira will come. Kira used Takada to contact X-Kira.
“The night we decided when and where to meet, L met Takada, and Takada relayed the information to X-Kira. I am completely sure of this. But Mello’s kidnapping of Takada was a surprise to L and I. With Takada dead, L could no longer contact X-Kira and was unable to call his plan off.” He knocked down the Takada figurine. Near tilted his head. “Actually, it would’ve been meaningless for him to call everything off. The thought wouldn’t have crossed his mind because he didn’t want to interfere with his plan or mind.”
And Matsuda and his co-worker immediately launched into contrarianism:
“Why do you assume L is Kira?”
“Yeah, if a third party is really going to show up here, isn’t it more likely that you’re the one behind it all?”
Ah, this is familiar. I almost feel like I’m 27 again and watching the NPA and L squabble. Maybe without all the signs of aging. Thank God for retinol and sunscreen.
“No, because the person we’re waiting for is the person currently in charge of carrying out Kira’s judgements. So, obviously, this person is coming under Kira’s orders.”
“Hey, wait a minute. If this person is the one doing the killings, you also mean they’re bringing the notebook too?”
“Yes, this person will bring the notebook for sure. And then, after looking at my face, will write down my name.” Near mimed this scenario with the figurines of X-Kira/Mikami and himself.
“So you’re going to prove that this person is Kira’s henchman by being killed?!”
“No, rather by having him try to kill me. There was a similar stunt that was pulled when L was investigating the Yotsuba Group.”
“Wait a minute,” Aizawa said.
“Yes?”
“If X-Kira is going to kill you, then they’d need to kill everyone here, since we all know about the notebook.”
“That’s right. It would be the perfect victory for Kira, not to mention the sole reason Kira agreed to this meeting in the first place.”
“I… I don’t get it,” Matsuda said. “What are you meaning? The third party is going to bring the notebook here to kill us?”
“And you’re asking us to stand here and watch?” Ide asked.
“That’s right,” Near said calmly.
“That’s ridiculous! Then you’ll be playing into Kira’s hands. We’re going to lose no matter what we do.”
“No. We’ll win. If you all do as I say, we’ll win without a doubt. So, if X-Kira enters through that door, I want you all to let him in. And if that door opens, however slightly, I want you all to pretend not to notice.”
Aizawa wrestled with himself. “You’re making it sound like you’re Kira. You’re the one who proposed the idea that we meet here, and now you’re asking for us to let our names be written down in the notebook. It’s only natural for us to think that. But… I’ll do as you say.”
“I’m with Aizawa,” Mogi said. Matsuda muttered dissent.
“He’s already here,” Near said. Naomi's headache was getting considerably worse.
Yeah, that’s one way to make them listen, she thought.
They stood in silence for roughly a half minute.
“I can’t just watch!” Matsuda snapped, bringing a revolver out of his jacket’s inner pocket.
“Don’t move!” Rester snapped, lining Matsuda up with his sights. Gevanni followed suit.
“Are you kidding me?” Matsuda exclaimed.
Naomi whistled. “Sorry, Near. First of all, don’t point your guns unless you intend to fire, Rester and Gevanni." (To this, Gevanni glowered and lowered his after Rester did.) "Second of all, what did Near say? Pretend that nothing is happening.”
“You expect me just to sit there while our names are being written?”
“I’m sorry, I thought I said ‘pretend nothing is happening’!” She put her hands on her hips and glared.
“Enough!” Near said. “I said that you won’t die. Please be still. Everyone relax, please.” He took a breath. “Even if our names are being written down, we won’t die. Kira’s identity will finally be revealed.”
“How can you be so sure?” Aizawa asked.
Near held up the miniature notebook he made. “I’ve tampered with the notebook. We managed to get it into our possession and replaced the pages. The person behind the door—the one in charge of the actual killing—has been filling up one page every day, so I just calculated which page would correspond with today’s date, and replaced all the subsequent pages.”
“Replaced?”
“You actually got a hold of it?”
“The person writing the names down outside will eventually look inside to see if we’ve all died. At which point we’ll seize him, and the individual whose name isn’t written down in the notebook will inevitably be Kira.”
Aizawa agreed, while his coworker was borderline speechless.
“To the one outside,” Yagami said, “did you write the names down in the notebook?”
“I did,” X-Kira answered, almost reverent.
“That’s strange,” Near said, half to his thighs. “Why would he reply in earnest, yes I did when you asked him if he wrote the names down?”
“Who knows?” Yagami replied. “Maybe he’s honest, or is confident for some reason. It may be that he knows your plan.”
Naomi barely resisted rolling her eyes.
“Teru Mikami, why don’t you come in here?” Near ventured.
There was a pause.
“Teru Mikami, right?” Yagami said, looking smugger by the second. “Stop hiding and come inside.”
Still no Mikami.
“Teru Mikami, I know that you’re in charge of carrying out Kira’s killings right now. You’ve already written the names down, so there’s nothing to be afraid of. Please come in. Or did Kira order you not to?”
“Your wish is my command, God,” Mikami said, his expression almost malicious in his devotion.
Naomi almost recoiled in horror.
“How many seconds has it been since you wrote the first name down?” Yagami asked.
“35… 36… 37… 38… 39…”
“I win, Near,” Yagami said.
That sure is one way to dig your own grave, Naomi thought.
“40!”
Still, Naomi clenched her fists and waited for the pain Raye must’ve felt in his chest.
“We… We’re not dead! It’s been a minute and we’re not dead!”
“I’ve been telling you that no one would die,” Near said.
Naomi traded a glance with Lidner. Even the SPK didn’t have a hundred percent faith in this plan.
“Why? Why won’t they die?!” Mikami said. “G-God—I did everything you told me!”
Near signalled Rester and Gevanni to take Mikami into custody.
“The notebook, Gevanni,” Near said. He held up the notebook once Gevanni brought it over. “See for yourselves.”
The task force took in every word.
“The first five names are unmistakably the real names of the SPK members. And the only one missing from this list is Light Yagami. The first nail in the casket was Mikami calling you God, and the other was that he said he did as you told him to.” He brought the notebook down. “This proves it.”
“This is a trap! Near set this whole thing up to frame me! It’s impossible that no one’s dead after their names have been written in the notebook!” Yagami screamed.
Near tilted his head to the side. “But I told you no one would die because I replaced the pages.”
“That’s—this is a setup. I don’t know this guy!”
Mikami wailed and sagged.
Aizawa approached Yagami and put a hand on his shoulder. “Light, it’s too late. Near wins. Just a second ago, you declared that you won. That’s as good a confession as any.”
Matsuda repeated Yagami’s given name and sank to his knees. “Why…?”
Mogi broke ranks and brought out his handcuffs. Yagami ran, slipping and faceplanting, then leaned against the warehouse wall.
“This is it,” Near said. “You lose. You claimed your victory a second ago. And to tell you the truth, you might have won and I’d have lost if it weren’t for one thing. You had Mikami use the fake notebook and had him carry it around in front of us so we’d believe it was the real thing. You even went so far as to suspect that I would replace the pages of the fake notebook, so that I wouldn’t die even if my name was written in it. Things turned out exactly as you expected, and we replaced the pages in the fake notebook.
“That was the plan I had in mind as well. I replaced the pages of the notebook that happened to be a fake, and you had Mikami bring the real notebook out for the first time to kill all of us. And that was your plan. But when I said that I replaced the pages in the notebook, I meant the real one as well. Meaning that I tampered with both the fake and real notebooks. I replaced only a part of the fake notebook, and I replaced the pages of the real notebook completely.” To demonstrate, he pulled the replica notebook from the Mikami figurine, revealing a FAKE label across the back.
Near brought out the real notebook from under his shirt. “This is the real notebook. Gevanni did it overnight. Whether he was able to replace all of it or not was the key to this plan. He did replace a part of the fake notebook with ease, but it was quite difficult to make a forged copy of the real one. Gevanni promised me, however, that it could be done.
“He used the same pen Mikami used, copied Mikami’s handwriting to perfection, and even made a perfect copy of the cover in addition to the interior pages. And since I’d touched the notebook beforehand, I could see the Shinigami from the moment you entered this warehouse. Nice to meet you, Mr Shinigami. I’m Near.”
Hair stood up on the back of Naomi’s neck.
“Ryuk… until today, I always believed that Shinigami had skulls for faces and carried sickles. … I looked through this notebook and found some pages that were clipped out. Can it be that people die even if you write names on pages that have been cut out? … Even pieces are effective… I’m sure there must have been many uses for that. I can’t even begin to think of how many people were killed and deceived because of that.”
“I almost died with that method. My fiance, the busjacker,” Naomi said. “Others, I assume.”
Yagami’s face lit with recognition.
“Raye Penber…”
She nodded, throwing a thin and outright malicious smile to him. “The one and only.”
“That’s one hell of an indictment,” Rester said. (He wasn’t the only one surprised; Gevanni was gaping and Lidner’s eyes were wide.)
“That anecdote just proves something that the previous L knew. Light Yagami, you are Kira.”
Yagami stood in silence, calculating.
“You’re wrong,” Near said, holding his Mello figurine. “I owe this to Mello. I’m sure you understand what I mean by that.” He flipped the notebook’s pages. “Look at the page I just turned to. This is the fake notebook we created, but it’s exactly the same as the real one. The first line of the page on the left…”
Kiyomi Takada. Suicide; burns to death by setting fire to everything around her, including what she wrote. January 26th, 2:33 PM.
Yagami and Mikami stared at each other. “If Takada was in a situation like that, then it’s my job to…,” Mikami said.
“That’s right. When Mello kidnapped Takada, Mikami took out the real notebook—the one he had hidden in a safe deposit box at the bank… and wrote Takada’s name down.”
“After Takada’s kidnapping was announced on the news, Mikami broke from his schedule. October 25th was a Sunday, so he went on the 26th. But all other previous months he’d went to the bank on the 25th. Mikami rarely breaks from his habits, so it immediately stood out to me. I entered the bank and saw Mikami go into the safe deposit room. This was the first time I’d seen him concerned if someone was following him,” Gevanni explained.
“Mikami lives a completely fixed life, but suddenly broke from his routine as Takada was kidnapped. I wonder how much can be explained away, if at all. Going to the bank for two days in a row… I’ll be honest, I only thought about the possibility of the notebook being a fake after Gevanni told me of this. Though, come to think of it, we should’ve suspected that when he took a picture of a man harassing a woman on a train before supposedly writing his name down, and when he talked to himself about the Shinigami not appearing to him. The fact that we found out so quickly about Mikami actually worked against us.
“But until then, we were completely tricked by you, Takada, and Mikami, and had replaced the pages in the fake book. So we’d have lost if I hadn’t found out. When Mello kidnapped Takada, you were no longer able to get into contact with Mikami. But Mikami still made his move for you, to perfection in his role as Kira’s stand-in. His overt adoration, sense of responsibility and attention to detail, and his intelligence worked against him at this time.
“It wasn’t difficult for us to sneak into the safe deposit room to crack it. It was an old fashioned safe at a local bank. And since you allowed us to look through Mikami’s bag when he was at the gym, we already had made copies of all his keys and cards.”
“It was easy. Once I got inside, there was a notebook with Takada’s name written in it,” Gevanni added.
“And an idiot would figure out everything from there.” Near added, “This is very interesting. In the fake notebook, the one we replaced the pages of first, one page was filled in with names every day, but the real one jumps from November 25th to January 26th, when Takada’s name was written down. So that means you, Light Yagami, had Mikami walk around with a fake notebook starting two months in advance to trick us.
“Before January 26th, the time of death wasn’t specified, same as in the fake notebook. But after Takada’s name was written in it, all the judgements for January 26th were set to the early hours of the 27th, and the judgements for the 27th were set for the early hours of the 28th.
“In the fake notebook that Mikami made, Takada’s name is probably written down exactly like this, but the rest of the page is only names and no written down conditions for their death. So that means that when Mikami wrote Takada’s name in the real notebook on the 26th, he also wrote the names of those people who were to be ‘brought to justice’ on the 26th and 27th.
“Mikami could’ve killed the people using the scraps from the notebook, but if he wrote on them in his house, assuming we’d have installed a camera, we might have found out about the fake notebook and the fact that you can kill people with just a scrap of it.
“In order to make Mikami’s notebook look real, you probably cut the pages out and handed them to Takada and had her actually do all the killings. All Mikami had to do was send a list of people to be killed via cell phone or computer and delete the data.
“For the deaths on the 26th and 27th, you might have had him send a list of people to Takada after she was kidnapped, but just in case, Mikami wrote those names down too when he wrote Takada’s name. As for the 28th, today’s killings would be at your leisure, since it would’ve been after you killed us.
“So, though it’s nothing I would’ve taken notice of under normal circumstances, if you look closely, there aren’t any killings of new criminals on the 26th or 27th. And that’s because Mikami wasn’t allowed to take out the notebook until today. And according to your plan, that shouldn’t have happened no matter what.
“And thought I don’t know who was first, this means that you killed Takada too. Since the scraps of the notebook can be used to kill people, it’s hard to believe you wouldn’t have had one on you. Because you killed her too, the announcement of Takada’s death was reported on the news quickly, and since Mikami also knew of her death, you wouldn’t have assumed that Mikami made a move on his own.” Near dropped the notebook. “Too bad. When Mello kidnapped Takada, Mikami wrote her name down in the real notebook too.”
Mikami and Yagami stared at each other again.
“For both you and me…,” Near began, “having Mikami write down our names on the page on the right was the plan. We had to do that. If not, we wouldn’t have been able to capture Mikami, get the notebook from him, or take a look at the notebook. Whether the page on the left was filled with names or not, it had to be the page on the right. And you tried to kill us by having us replace the pages of a fake notebook and having Mikami bring the real one here, but we went a step beyond you by having Mikami bring a fake version of the notebook. It’s a lot harder to find out that the notebook has been switched if you replace the whole notebook rather than just a part of it.
“Of course, this is in large part due to Rester and Gevanni’s efforts in duplicating the notebook in a day. But the biggest thanks goes to the one who created this situation. Mello.”
Lidner suddenly looked very sad. She looked askance. “Mello may have known about it. I told Mello that Near was talking about bringing an end to this case with his own hands. But now that I think of it, he…” She stopped, frowning. “After a long silence, he just said then I guess I’m going to have to do it, and hung up.”
She sighed. “At first, I thought he only meant that he was going to bring an end to the case before Near. But if Mello hadn’t made his move, then we would’ve…”
You’re telling me I owe my life to a corpse? Naomi thought.
“The fact that we replaced the pages in the notebook, and that notebook happened to be a face, I find it hard to believe that Mello thought that far ahead. But, I’m sure that he was always trying to get ahead of me. And that’s not all—even if he didn’t surpass me…” Near wet his lip. “Even if he didn’t…”
Rester traded looks with Gevanni, who traded looks with Naomi, who traded looks with Lidner, who traded looks with Rester.
“Mello always said that he was going to be number one, and that he was going to be better than me and L. But I always knew I would never be able to surpass L. It could be that I lack attention span and he lacked impulse control. And even thought we couldn’t surpass the one we admired on our own—together, we can stand with L. Together we can surpass L. And now, we’re facing Kira, whom L could find no proof against, the very Kira who L was defeated by, and facing him with solid evidence before his own eyes.”
Near let that sink in.
He kept the puppets up.
“Let’s try to see you talk your way out of this one.”
Yagami screamed, high pitched. All the klaxons in Naomi’s brain fired, telling her to get the hell out of there, because something was deeply wrong.
Yagami began to shake.
And he began to laugh.
Against all her primal instincts, Naomi stayed.
He cackled for a good half minute.
Every muscle in Naomi’s body tensed. Every hair stood on end.
“That’s right,” he said, staggering to stand, “I am Kira.”

Posting this as well to before the new episode aires because he’s all I think about but just thoughts/theories on ???%
???% is a form of dissociation that Mob’s mind created when he was young to help his developing mind cope with overwhelming trauma and emotions he experienced when he accidentally hurt Ritsu and truly realized what power his powers held. He was unable to process it on its on so it creates something to help dissociate from them and the memories that come with it. I think that's what's kinda happening here. In general I think his existence is something to protect Mob from both “himself” and others.
The way he activates is I think out of a need for absolute survival since he always activated when Mob was on the verge of dying (Teru choking him, Mogami fight, the car) The only exepction is the first time but I think it makes sense considering he was younger and the stakes felt higher to him on top of his emotions not being repressed back then so it's easier for his powers to go berserk/That was when ???% was birthed. It’s also something that protects him from “himself “ as mob is very much afraid of losing himself and hurting those around him and I think a lot of those what if's he's feared we've seen glimpses of. it’s essentially a being made of the darkest depths of his emotions but also I feel it’s also how he views those emotions. Terrifying and uncontrollable, a walking mindless weapon perhaps. I think I can point a lot to things that happened in season 2 that gives me this idea.
???% is definitely a part of Mob and idk I think its funny but I also like seeing how Broccoli arc Mob imagined himself as a gigachad but I think that's also going on here where he imagines himself as a horrible creature only capable of being a weapon. It's what he really thinks he is deep down. Considering that he's also treated a different person somewhat and while they're very much the same person I like to think its a manifestation of a different lens Mob's view this darkness. Because its something that is supposed to protect him I think some part of his mind sees it as someone to rely upon for help as because early Mob definitely relied on others a lot/a push over/a bit of a people pleaser in some ways so seeing all the dark parts of him that is also a manifestation of something his mind created to help protect him as another person he can “turn to for help” would be very interesting and I love seeing stories do this stuff. While he's grown a lot I think Mob definitely still struggles with confidence issues, self loathing issues, and also controlling his emotions and that's normal to deal with! He's grown up with it! When you supress your emotions it's normal for you to have trouble expressing yourself as well as understanding what those emotions are
that's why I kinda love how he doesnt understand why he likes Tsubomi. imo I think its a combination of him clinging onto an attachment and childhood crush he had when he was younger because of how lonely he grew up because that's when things were so much more normal/She was one of the first things that made him second guess what his powers mean to him by growing bored of them/his love for her is a feeling he feels like he can understand and actually express without hurting anyone.
Which is why its so important for Mob to face this side of himself and come to peace with it because it's how he views himself deep inside and he's wrong about that. It's why it's also gonna be so important to see Ritsu and Teru see this side of him again and still treat him like they always have and be very caring towards him and Reigen to see it and be super accepting. Mob needs to "forgive" himself to.
I wanna talk about how how mob psycho goes about the idea of forgiveness one day because instead of treating it as a bad person/person who did bad things atoning I feel like they make it more about improving yourself and more about the person hurt by those bad actions being able to move on and let go despite the pain and I think that idea is very nuanced and appreciated since I think the actual definition of forgiveness gets twisted a lot to something mroe shallow then it actually is and both these ideas tie super well to Mob's arc and he goes through both hence he needs to forgive himself

Death Note: What’s their Classpects?
Hello welcome to a type of post we’ll be calling “What’s their classpect” where we’ll (Me (Time) & Void) go over a character (or characters) from other media and see what their likely classpect would be.
Today we’ll go over most of the main cast of Death Note (along with the one shot) Though it will be under the cut due how long it is
Light Yagami: Lord of Hope
Light is for the most part the most active character in Death Note, without him acting almost nothing would have happened. Now why Lord of Hope instead of something like Prince Of Life, it’s mainly this: Light truly believes in what he’s doing, in a way he’s the most upbeat and hopeful about the future in Death Note, He has no doubts in his goals and in his control. Hell in a way he was able to take control of a lot of people’s ideas of what to hope for, and also fit the role by getting others to do what he couldn’t (Like the eye deal). Tbh if you asked me what a evil Lord Of Hope would be like i’m just gonna point to Light and say “That over there.”.
Misa Amane: Witch of Heart
She uses a bit more brute force than most witches need to but Misa fits very well into the role of a Witch of Heart, a lot of plans involving her include the use forgetting/manipulating one’s own identity, Misa herself used disguises to find Light. And then when it comes to her love life she was able to manipulate things into getting her, her dream boy. (even if he was more a nightmare) (Also due to the eye deal she could also fit Seer Of Life/Doom/maybe Heart)
Kiyomi Takada: Witch of Light
Her job almost fits to a T what a Witch of Light might do with their powers, She manipulates the truth and facts to fit into her own ends, like many Witches is one of the most powerful in her group. (Only Misa & maybe Mikami match)
Teru Mikami: Maid of Rage
So as is known Rage has a bit of a connect to cults and the worship of gods, along with negative emotions, these two things tie very well into Mikami, in a way he started out as a kid relying on others to feel the rage of injustice for him but as he grew he started to more make others fall into their negative emotions by being a ruthless prosecutor . By the time he became a Kira he was very skilled at making others feel fear. Pure fear.
L Lawliet: Prince of Mind
L never really leans into Heart but he still fits Prince of Mind best, he mainly (almost only) used his smarts and skills to destroy whoever he was playing against. L also himself was destroyed by his own aspect, dying due to his own need to prove his ideas were right.
Near: Seer of Space
Near fits the role of guide Seers often take up as for the most part til the end he stays in the shadows getting the information he needs, and then when it came to aspect he fits best with space (Plus it adds up with Mello being a Time player). Near also tends to watch people and places from afar before acting himself.
Mello: Thief of Time
To me Mello fits the role of a time player almost too well, being both goal focused and ruthless when he feels he needs to be. then why i picked Thief is mainly because of his role as the person that sets everyone else into action before they were ready (hell his plan lead to Light’s down fall) stealing away time for them to think. One could argue and say he could be a Rogue due his plans leading to others winning but i will point out most of his plan was to help himself and himself alone beat Kira.
Touta Matsuda: Page of Doom
He starts out almost closer to a life or hope player but tbh even at the start he does of some ties to doom, being someone who often failed and was very empathetic (even to Kira in a way) but as story went on Matsuda only became closer to his aspect often needing others to save him from his failings but by the end of the story he was what doomed Light, had Matsuda sided with Light, Near could have lost but Matsuda took the feelings and in a sense became doom even if for a short time while he tried to kill Light.
Matt: Heir Of Void
We don’t know a lot about Matt, in canon nobody(-Mello who likely knows but we didn’t see him call Matt his name) really knew his real name. All that sounds very much like a Heir Of Void, someone protected by his aspect which also makes him something of a unknowable character. (much like Equius who Matt shares a classpect with)
Minoru Tanaka: Muse Of Rage
Let’s face it, Minoru didn’t do too much to cause so much chaos that the king of the death gods themself had to make a whole new rule, yeah Minoru had to do was ask Ryuk to go hold up some paper a few times and then bang the whole world is likely fighting over the notebook, we didn’t get to see it but it’s likely the world likely came close to at least one or two wars over the notebook. IF all that isn’t a Muse Of Rage I’m not sure what would be

MP100 Character Guidebook - ONE & Director Tachikawa’s Character Comments
Tumblr media
Here’s ONE & Director Tachikawa’s comments on the main five (Mob, Reigen, Dimple, Ritsu, Teru) from the character guidebook! Each character gets two paragraphs.
KAGEYAMA SHIGEO
Tumblr media
-ONE’s comment-
There were two things I kept in mind when designing his appearance; the first was making sure he’s easy to draw since he’s the main character, and the second, making him kinda uncool. Since it looks really cool when uncool people do cool things.
However, shortly after Mob Psycho 100 started serialisation I heard that people thought of him as ‘cute’. It was unexpected, that he could stir up this protective desire in others. I wanted him to have a purity that I myself don’t have, so until his character solidified I tried my best to avoid any gags that would spoil him or make him less human. That being said, in chapter 1 of the manga he does say ‘Do you really have any powers?’ to Reigen in a rude way.
-Tachikawa’s comment-
Honestly, I think he’s the hardest character to portray correctly. To give an example, if you raise the corners of his mouth too high when he smiles then he looks like he’s smirking, which isn’t Mob-like. By being just a tiny bit playful with his expressions, his vibe basically goes up in the air. His character changes bit by bit from season 1 to season 2, but I tried to make sure that his kindness toward others - the thing that makes him Mob - didn’t change. At first, his personality had parts to it that I found irritating, but overall I do really love it.
REIGEN ARATAKA
Tumblr media
-ONE’s comment-
He’s the easiest to draw, and his character is easy to play with. I created a one-off with Reigen as the main character to submit for a manga award, and gratefully accepted the serialisation offer that was presented to me. His presence is strong, being very relatable to readers while he uses the main character, Mob. Mid-serialisation, it was pointed out to me that his character is a little hard to place, but one of the themes MP100 deals with is that fact that human beings influence and change one another. Thus, I decided to not make any changes and carry on as I’d planned, with the thought in my head that a difficult-to-place-nature is just another thing that makes us human.
-Tachikawa’s comment-
I have a special emotional attachment to Reigen… You see him in the spotlight a lot in season 1, but back then he was shrouded in mystery and it was difficult to know his true heart… and then we get S2E6-7, where we see the man behind the mask. Looking at him in those episodes was so heartbreaking… I was moved. A particular favourite scene of mine is from episode 7, when Reigen, trying to quickly send a primary-school-age Mob away from the office, says ‘Be a good person. That’s all!’. Those words were halfhearted, but they saved Mob, and later on Reigen is also saved by them. It’s fate. Drawing Reigen’s expressions for that episode was incredibly fulfilling.
DIMPLE
Tumblr media
-ONE’s comment-
When it comes to Mob, Dimple is to spirits as Reigen is to humanity. I thought that monologues composed of inner-turmoil descriptions from a pretty silent Mob would be too stiff, so I had him cling to Mob as a conversation partner. He speaks a lot and yet nobody but Mob can hear him, so he can say as many sleazy things as he pleases - that’s why I loved writing his lines. However, he and his lines change as a result of Mob’s influence - the tension and atmosphere of their conversations change little by little. I jumped for joy when I found out that Ootsuka Akio-san would be playing Dimple.
-Tachikawa’s comment-
Dimple is a popular one with the animators, since his facial expressions change a lot and you can play around with him freely. Truth is, for season 2, I thought it might be good to just reuse all the Dimples we’d drawn up to that point rather than drawing up new ones, but character designer Kameda-kun was severely opposed to that (laughs). In season 1 you still get the sense that he’s an evil spirit, but with season 2 he feels more like Mob Psycho 100’s mascot character. Moreover, there’s this feeling that he’s completely become one of Mob’s friends, but taking into account what happens next in the manga, we tried to make sure that he wasn’t entirely at the ‘I’m not thinking of bad things at all’ end of the spectrum.
KAGEYAMA RITSU
Tumblr media
-ONE’s comment-
I thought to myself; Mob’s younger brother, the person closest to him… how would he grow up if he didn’t have any powers? Perhaps he should be superior to his older brother in every way, but unable to wipe away how crushing it is to not have powers. So he joins the main plot as this excellent, ideal ‘good little brother’ who happens to hide a heavy distortion in his heart. I thought it’d be more human - more Ritsu-ish - to make sure that the distortion in his heart doesn’t go away even after he exposes it to Mob. I think we can only feel a sense of security in someone’s positives if they have a few negatives. It’s difficult drawing him when he’s facing the right.
-Tachikawa’s comment-
I was really charmed by him when he leans toward the dark side in season 1. When he was immersed in that superiority complex and beat up those delinquents, Mob apologised on his behalf… I thought the description of what was going through his mind at that point was well done. After he reconciles with Mob in season 1 he grows, and in season 2 he realises that the reason he admires Mob has nothing to do with powers, so I think his troubles are basically over. He’s a good character with how devoted he is to his big brother. When animating him, his hair (ie. keeping it balanced) caused a good amount of grief. With season 2 we decided to cut his hair a little, which made him easier to deal with.
HANAZAWA TERUKI
Tumblr media
-ONE’s comment-
He’s a character with which anything goes, so I rely on him to develop the story. He falls to the point where he can’t fall any further, then reforms and is reintroduced to the story, but you can’t even see the top of his head with how high his wig stack is. Watching the anime, I thought to myself, why is he the only one who I treated like that… do I have no compassion? His fashion sense is also amazing. I think he really gave it his all to liven up Mob Psycho 100. I love him.
-Tachikawa’s comment-
He’s a character who I always look forward to drawing. He’s introduced in episode 4 as the first enemy esper, he has his clash with Mob… that’s also the first time we see Mob reach ???%... he’s a character that carries a good few firsts for this work. His ochimusha and hair 150% forms are also popular - during season 1 he gave us a lot to laugh about (laughs). Since he has powers his appearance in season 2 gives a sense of security. He’s trustworthy. ‘The enemy becomes a friend’ may be a typical development in manga, but with all the examples that come to mind his particular rendition of it really touches me. He moves and fights of his own accord, so his esper action scenes promise a lot of highlights.

Toilet-bound Hanako-kun: Chapter 9 - The Young Exorcist (Part 1)
Previously: we’ve dealt with the confession tree, and Hanako and Yashiro filled my heart with feelings. It was a mostly light-hearted chapter, with a lot of funny moments but that last scene we had with them was very sweet and a solid foundation for their relationship to keep growing. I’m glad that we could see that even if Hanako does have a very teasing nature, he actually seems to genuinely care about Yashiro and he can be serious when he needs to be.
Now onto the next chapter!
Ohhhh okay it seems we are shifting the focus onto the Minamoto brothers with a flashback (I’m guessing the Minamoto-senpai Yashiro had a crush on is Kou’s older brother because same last name and they do look alike (fun fact: I mistoke them from one another when Kou was first introduced because of their looks and because we don’t know the older brother’s first name, but then I noticed they had different colour hair. I guess I would have been more confused if I hadn’t been watching the anime)
Anyway, the flashback. It seems to be set when senpai (I’m calling him that until we get a name) was eight years old and he’s fighting a....thing....that will probably haunt my nightmares at some point....but yeah, they ones overseeing him point out that he’s very skilled for his age but that also is to be expected of him. So I’m guessing he must be a very well regarded exorcist now if he was THAT talented when he was a child....which makes me wonder why he hasn’t done anything about the aparitions around the school. Is only Kou in charge of it?
Tumblr media
Look at this baby. Look at him, my heart, he’s so cute. Kou is one year younger than Yashiro, right? and if Minamoto is a second year in hs (if I’m remembering correctly), then he should be six years old here, right? Smol bean
He jumps to hug his brother but senpai doesn’t seem happy that Kou followed him to his....training, I guess? Since he seems to be surpervised by a couple of men. And it makes sense, they’re both very young and things could go wrong, especially if no one know Kou is there
And here we also see that Kou is very excited to follow up on his brothers footsteps and wants to be a great exorcist like his brother and it’s very on par with his attitude when we first met him and he tried to exorcise Hanako
But he then says “that’s what I always wanted, but...” and we cut next to him with his friends but looking back at Hanako in the hallway. And ah, the title for this week is “the young exorcist (part 1)”, so that means we’ll get a more Kou-centric chapter(s)? Exciting! That “but” and the cover page make me think that it’s very likely that he’s having doubts about the whole “beat all the supernaturals” thing since Hanako has been a pretty alright guy so far. If that’s the case, it could set up a good internal conflict for his character
Tumblr media
This poor child is such a third wheel right now lol It’s okay, Kou, you’ll get used to their banter
But hey, it looks like Yashiro is trying to continue from where we left of last time when she decided she wanted to get to know Hanako better. Well, at least that’s what I think she’s trying to do with this compatibility horoscope
Tumblr media
Okay, yeah, she’s definitely trying to get more information under the guise of the horoscope lol but Hanako doesn’t seem to want to cooperate. And I mean, it makes sense since I see him as someone who pretends to be carefree but doesn’t actually share important details about himself until he feels completely comfortable. After all the only reason we even know he killed someone is because Kou told us.
“If you wann do a compatibility horoscope, do it with one of your crushes. Like Minamoto-senpai or somebody” well, try not to sound so salty, mister
Kou is surprised by these news and Yashiro is saying that her crush on senpai is more akin to having a crush on an idol, someone you just admire from afar. And yeah, considerering how minimal their actual interactions were, and she realized that she doesn’t really know much about him besides what’s public knowledge
Tumblr media
Well, speak of the devil and he shall appear lol He has the pretty boy sparkles and everything, huh? I can understand why Yashiro was so infatuated with him, he’s one handsome guy. Also if I was in this situation right now, I would crawl into a hole and die because that’s so embarrasing omg
We have a name! Teru Minamoto, okay, easy to remember. We have upgrade from senpai to Teru. And he’s thanking Yashiro for being kind to Kou, awwww
Tumblr media
oH. That...that doesn’t look good..........that smells like trouble. Also the change from sweet older brother figure to that cold look he threw towards Hanako was quick and a bit terrifying ngl
He’s pulled Kou aside and now they’re talking and he’s reminding him that if he encounters any of the seven mysteries, he should expel them immendiately but Kou doesn’t look too happy.
Ohhh okay, Teru says that they are aware of recent change in the supernaturals’ behaviou recently and that they hadn’t acted because they hadn’t put the students in danger before. And we know that’s true if we think about the mokke and how they said that they had been living in peace with the humans at the school for a long time until their story changed and they didn’t have another choice but to do as the rumors said
He also mentions that the seven mysteries are the most powerful and dangerous supernaturals in the school. Which makes sense, since Hanako mentioned that the seven are the ones controlling the seven boundaries between this world and the spirit world.
Tumblr media
Here we seem to get a glimpse of some of the others, but most aren’t really distinguishable. We have Yakko and Hanako, then at the far left I think there’s some sort of mask, then there’s two silhouettes, and then we have what seems to be a girl holding something in her hands and then a mirror besides her.
But yeah, Teru says that since these seven are the most problematic, they should erradicate them first and foremost. Which, from a logical point of view makes sense but since we’re privy to their behaviour and we know that we could change things if we change the rumors, I want to say please do not exorcise my baby, he’s trying to keep the balance
And it seems Kou agrees with me. Hanako still pisses him off but he admits that the little sassy ghost has been really helpful (and he even protected Kou during their escapade to the Misaki Stairs despite saying he wouldn’t). Teru really seems to disagree, though, and
Tumblr media
oH. Again. It really seems like Teru has his mind set about this. Like, I guess it make sense, we saw that they were trained from a young age and they are part of a legendary clan that has been exorcising spirits for generations, so the history probably doesn’t have much to say in favour of the apparitions
He also answers the question I had before about why it was just Kou going after the mysteries: apparently he had thought it would be a good way to let Kou grow as an exorcist but he now sees it had the opposite effect since he’s feeling sympathy for Hanako.
“I’m taking you off the seven mysteries case” that’s-that’s really not good if his glare to Hanako earlier is anything to go by. “I’ll clean up this mess” yiKES
Oh, okay, it seems like Kou managed to buy himself some more time before his brother intervenes. And yes, here’s the internal conflict I was hoping for
He knows what his duty is but he also has grown to care for not only Hanako but also (and especially) Yashiro. So there’s not only the fact that Hanako has been helpful but also the fact that Yashiro clearly cares a lot for the ghost since she protected him the first time they met. Kou seemed like a really sweet guy and all this just reinforces that notion.
Okay, so now has make it his mission to find evidence to prove to his brother that Hanako is not a bad supernatural. And it’s not a bad plan, since he would need to keep a close eye on Hanako either way, so it works in his favour.
Tumblr media
I.....Hanako, sweetie, why-what-
Okay, he’s clearly collecting things with the help of the mokke and putting it in the big sack he’s carrying. But yeah, it really doesn’t help his case when Kou is trying to prove he’s not suspicious
Pfffft Kou really needs to work on his sneaking abilities since he almost got discovered by a teacher and immediately after that Hanako found him. Although Hanako probaly already knew he was being watched
Also
Tumblr media
The ghost child really has no notion of personal space, huh? It’s not just Yashiro who has to deal with him all up in her face
Tumblr media
I really love their dynamic, they’re so silly together
Omg
Tumblr media
Kou looks so distraugh here omg like “omfg please i’m trying to prove you’re a good guy why are you doing with all this stuff WH Y”
But Hanako is quick to point out that he’s actually collecting the things the mokke stole so he can give them back to the owners. And that this is happening because even though Yashiro changed the rumor, the mokke still feel the need to steal objects from people. And I hadn’t thought about it, but it makes sense since they’ve been doing it for so long and the rumor still technically says that they steal things from you even if now there’s a way to stop them from killing people
Tumblr media
I just wanna head pat this cute child look at him.
Now Hanako is asking Kou to help him retrieve something that was stuck up in one of the towrs surrounding the school. My first question is why can’t Hanako float up there since he a ghost but it looks like Kou is asking the same thing and apparently he can’t float that high. Huh, okay. That kinda sucks and seems inconvenient but okay, good to know.
And Hanako is apologizing for making him go through all this trouble but he insisted because the item seemed like it would be important for somebody. He seems honest and Kou is once again hit by the feeling that Hanako is not really a bad supernatural. And yeah, it’s like I said earlier: there’s probably not a good record of supernaturals doing good deeds and that’s what his family knows after generations spent fighting spirits. But Kou is hopeful that maybe his brother wasn’t totally right and that, as Hanako has been demostrating, good supernaturals can exist.
OH
Tumblr media
Oh no. While Hanako seems to have caught what they were looking for, he also slipped from Kou’s grasp and that’s not good....well...kinda. I mean, he’s a ghost, right? Like, this sounds horrible but he’s already dead, so he can’t get too hurt from this fall............right?
Tumblr media
I feel like this chapter has been full of me just gushing about what a good boy Kou is and honestly? he is and I regret nothing
He’s so worried ahhhh  but Hanako is okay and they remembered that the ghost was in fact a ghost so risk no greater than a couple of ghost bruises
AHHHHH
Tumblr media
Just. This whole page. It’s so precious. Look at them sharing a laugh together because they were being dummies and then Kou finding out that the thing Hanako was working so hard to get back because it looked important was his earring ahhhhhhh that’s so cute omg look at them!! I didn’t even noticed his earring was gone! (I checked again and he had it when the three of them were talking but it was already gone when he had his talk with Teru. I guess the mokke he had on his lap took it. That was a nice subtle detail)
Awww and he’s made his decision. He believes that Hanako is proof that there are good supernaturals so he won’t exorcise him. Hanako looks shocked and is asking him what made him change his mind since Kou had himself said that he was “the evil spirit of a murderer”.
Kou says that he’s sorry because he didn’t know any better and that he’s sure that Hanako had his reason for what he did but-
Tumblr media
...........He makes a fair point. Like, at this point we know very little about Hanako’s life and motives. The only fact that seems to be certain at this point is that he has killed someone when he was alive, but we don’t know any of the circumstances around it. He has had moments where he looked and acted with what appeared to be malice, like when he told Yashiro that crying wouldn’t solve anything, and when he pointed his knife at Kou during their first meeting and when he explained to them that scary experiences are the ones that stick in your memory the most. There’s been an underlying aura of danger in Hanako that’s impossible to ignore, there’s no denying that. But there’s still the fact that he has done everything in his power to protect Yashiro and now Kou in dangerous situations. So a part of me believes that there has to be a reasonable explanation for his actions; if we take the really angsty route I would guess that he did it as an act of self-defense or something like that. But yeah, “when is it right to kill someone?” is a very tricky question
Tumblr media
............................ah. that underlying danger i mentioned? here it is again, back at full force.
But also the look on his eyes, while the swirls give off that crazy vibe, the wobbliness and his overall expression convey a very hopeless feeling, I don’t know, he just looks very distressed. To me it looks like he really doesn’t want to do this, but he also needs to prove his point to Kou
Tumblr media
(゚д゚;)  (゚д゚;)  (゚д゚;)
Tumblr media
Oh no  (゚д゚;)  (I stand corrected: I’ve spent only half of this chapter gushing about Kou, the other half I’ve been going “oh no” almost every time Teru appears)
And again: the quick switch from “pleasant charming” smile”to “I will destroy you” look is terrifying. This does not bode well oh man oh man next chapter is gonna be crazy and stressful
