3l!grian is frequently depicted as a tragic figure and sometimes i wonder if we even watched the same series

#like yes he is tragic. every character in the series is tragic but i think hes easily the least tragic of the winners #(except maybe cleo. i have my own thoughts about how cleos victory plays into her core themes and why its not as joyous or triumphant as #cleo the players and the fandom at large make it seem that i will have to make a real post about at some point) #grian dies Laughing. he smiles and calls it a dual victory before the final fight. his last words are “its been amazing.” #to me Grians arc is about how he came in with this sense of mirth. had it ripled away by the reality when his joke gets Scar killed. #and then rediscovers it as he learns that the horror of their circumstances doesn't need to keep him from delight #plus also ive never seen a man more delighted to explode three of his friends #ill also bring up that Martyns lore has Grian involved in the games explicitly to COMBAT the angst #that Grians inherent silliness and joy makes the players less hopeless as they meet their endings #and theres obviously parts of martyns lore i can take or leave but this is one area where Eyes and Ears lines up very well with what actions #the characters take and so im happy to bring it up #unlike other parts such as “limlife pearl and cleo retained more trauma between seasons than any player has before” #which i do directly refute as it doesn't seem to line up with the way the characters act and the story plays out #thats for another post though #my point here is 3l grian was having the time of his life and i think there are some fanon interpretationd that disregard that #which theyre free to do im definitely someone who has ignored canon plenty of times in the past (glances at worm) #but i think this is the sort of thing that makes the canon more interesting and compelling #anyway. um. rambled longer than i meant to there #grian #trafficblr #3rd life #3rd life smp #3lsmp

This is probably not an original idea but I really like the concept that every winner of the life series becomes a god of life and is like a spectator of the following series. So Grian's third life self, Scott's last life self and Pearl's double life self are all watching their mortal selves play limited life, waiting for the fourth god to join them

Maybe Grian is the one who chose to replicate the original game and transfers their souls to the next game, which is why they have such vague memories of what happened the season before, but gives them a chance to save each other (giving lives) or betray each other (boogeyman). Then Scott joins him and chooses to make their mortals connected to one another so they never die alone to the hands of a god, but together. Then Pearl joins and wants to put an end to the games, so she sets a time limit. What will the next person do?

i did private my tma stuff on redbubble! i dont use twitter or many other social media so i was unaware that they are apparently vehemently against people selling fanart for tma, i was just naively thinking well if they had an issue with an art piece theyd ask me to take it down (& i 100% would, of course) but if its something theyr outspoken about then I cant in good conscience continue selling it, even if it was my main seller on there 😔

#i was feeling really bad and dysphoric so i picked up the crayons. as you do #and this evolved out of it and it got me thinking about a “return to animal” type sentiment #like i was watching videos of apes last night and thinking how different it must be to simply exist in your body #without hiding it in clothes and gender conformity and such #and then i was thinking about the idea of “returning” to a state of being you haven't even existed in #couldn't exist in. because you are a product of what came before you etc #(and ofc apes are almost as different from the common ancestor as we are so it wouldn't be returning to ape but like yknow #the abstract idea of the beings we were before we were humans.) #and like why do we call it returning if we ourselves were never there? how much of ourselves actually exists in the past? #why is it that we feel enough kinship to the past that we say “return” when we think about existing there? #anyway. rhetorical questions mostly. this drawing isn't exactly about that train of thought #but i felt i needed to put it somewhere. and this is where i thought of it and i like the way the caption looks #this drawing is sort of about the feverish desire to rid myself of physical discomfort #griffffdraws
