god i want. an au where it dosn't work. where it's just arr g'raha who's woken up, and he doesn't have all these memories and all these people keep looking at him like they're mourning someone. the world has changed and time has changed and all the people he knows have changed, but he hasn't changed, he was just sleeping, just sleeping, and the world nearly ended several times and apparently he helped prevent yet another end but he has no memory of this. they want him to join the scions. he does not know these people. (he barely knows the warrior of light, now, but did he ever truly know them in the first place?) his little sister is alive and well. she looks at him like a ghost. she's changed, and she's older than him now. he acts bratty and loud and brash to cover up the fact that he does not know anything it seems, and he is tired but he was sleeping for so long, so how could he be tired?

he doesn't know these people. they seem to know him. he wonders if he'd killed someone, when it was him and not that exarch who woke up. he wonders if it should have been him who was "killed" in that way, if it is him that lives and not that man who had known and become friends with all these figures from legend. he wonders if he'll always be fated to be a historian one step back from everything, because he simply cannot be a hero.

The night before Iwaizumi leaves for California, his mother gives him a gift. It's wrapped delicately in yellow wrapping paper.

Iwaizumi has a feeling he knows what it is.

"I know it's last minute," She says, sitting next to him on his bed in his childhood bedroom. "Your bags are all packed, I don't expect you to make room to take it with you or anything, of course." She watches him, hands folded in her lap. "Ah, and you'll probably think it's embarrassing any-"

"Mama," Iwaizumi interrupts, fighting back a little smile at her fretting. "Let me at least open it before you try minimizing it."

"Right, right." She laughs, waving her hand. "Of course. Go on then. Open it."

Iwaizumi doesn't take his time tearing it open.

It's a book. A scrapbook, Iwaizumi guesses. It has his name handwritten in both kanji and hiragana on the front. It's a little smaller than the other scrapbooks his mom has on her shelf. The binding is a dark forest green.

The only sound in the room is the flipping of pages. Iwaizumi takes his time to study each page, his chest feeling a little tighter the more he flips through the book.

Iwaizumi knows his mothers have always taken lots of pictures, ranging from polaroids to digital. His aunties too but he still finds himself surprised by the amount Sachiko has collected in the book. Including pictures she must have received from other people because neither of his moms were present at said event.

The pages are simple. Each one has about two to five (depending on the sizes of them) pictures on it. They're decorated with stickers and little notes written in his mom's graceful handwriting neatly squeezed where they can fit and still be legible.

Notes like "you gave your poor mother a fright the first time you came into the house with one of these" under a photo of Iwaizumi proudly showing off a jar with a beetle in it and "i'm surprised you convinced tooru to go, lol" by a photo from a fishing trip Iwaizumi took with the other third years.

"This is one of my favorite pictures," His mom says, watching as Iwaizumi flips pages over his shoulder. She points to a picture of the two of them when they first moved into the house. He was only three. They're sitting on the front steps together, neither of them are looking at the camera. He has his arms wrapped around hers and is looking up at her as she laughs.

And he breaks.

"Oh, Hajime." She says softly, pulling him into a tight hug. He tucks his face into the crook of her neck and she strokes his hair as he cries. He feels like he's five again, crying because he accidentally squashed a bug when he was trying to catch it. Ten, crying because he was sick with the flu and thought he was on the brink of death. Thirteen, crying because he and Oikawa had a fight and he thought he would never talk to him again.

Eighteen, crying because he's leaving the country tomorrow and it suddenly hit him that he doesn't know what he's going to do without his mom.

He doesn't say that though.

He doesn't tell her that he's scared, scared that he's going to crash and burn in California, scared that his friendship with Oikawa won't survive the distance, scared that everything is going to go wrong because he left.

Or that he's really going to miss her.

(Maybe he should have told her that.)

That night before Iwaizumi spends his last night in his childhood room, he wraps the scrapbook up in the hoodie that Oikawa gave him and tucks them both into one of his bags.

He thinks about where he's going to put it in his dorm room when he gets to California.

eddie added buck to his will so that if eddie dies his son christopher goes to buck instead of his biological family. there are so many scenes in which eddie and buck go to each other for comfort and hang out raising christopher together. they went on a poker date last season after buck gained some crazy math skills after getting struck by lighting. buck tried to dig eddie out of a collapsed well with his bare hands. he dragged eddie out of an open street with an active shooter after eddie got shot. buck went to eddie's house and fell asleep on his couch after getting overwhelmed by everyone else in his life hovering after he got struck by lightning. these are just a few of the scenes where they act completely different with each other than they do with the rest of their friends and family. and yet no, they have never been together in the show.

I swear, this is the last ever New Year that I ring in with people who don't value me or my time and efforts. This is the last year that I spend the holidays etc feeling utterly despondant and miserable. This is the last time I spend the 2 weeks that encompass Christmas, New Years, and my birthday with my cunt of a mother and sister. They have had almost 25 of them in some way or another, and this is their last. I'm done.

Yeah, I've seen the 1 min 30 Izzy teaser. I've seen it many times. I'm choosing to not go crazy on here because the second I do, I will abandon my WIP, and spend all day going in mental loops.

I'm just stuck on feelings of- 'damn we were right' (happy) and 'oh, damn, we were right' (devastated).

Three a.m. Riri thoughts I've suddenly decided I'm salty because five seconds ago it clicked that Kagami's idea of Urd and Rígr making up after a THOUSAND YEARS of animosity and fighting is just Rígr being like "wouldn't it be so cool if you trusted me 😇😇 dad was a wayyy bigger dick than me" and Urd was kinda just like "Yk what it would be cool" and then ig they just told everyone they kissed and made up in the span of one conversation which given its simplicity could've happened at any point??? Why a thousand years after it we know he knew where Rígr was??? I got mad WATCHING it go down in a different universe forget being on either of these fuckers' side and being told "That guy who was supposedly a traitor for the last millennium is fine now because he actually didn't mean it lmao"

It wasn't even that I knew and didn't realise how shallow it is but that I DIDN'T EVEN REALISE THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE THEM MAKING UP. This whole time I've been waiting and only just now as I sit in my kitchen spinning on a chair did I realise that THAT was what I had been waiting for. Really??

I could genuinely see so much I liked in this because there was hints this was important to those characters. Rígr had elements of a person who burdens himself with responsibility and hurts the people he cares about in order to protect them while Urd was just a lonely guy who wanted someone who could understand him and would make having to live literally forever when he's not mentally built to do that a lot easier and I was like "maybe Kagami does have one subplot for me to look forward to" and then I remember he doesn't because he ends his subplots by suspending them or just snuffing them out in order for nonsense to take place instead

I can think of so many ways that he could've dragged the plot out if he really wanted to that would be far more fulfilling and contribute to the story more than whatever the hell he is dragging it out with 😞😞
