Y'know Im not even gonna pretend to get ppl complaining abt the new skill trees because it makes Wilson less unique or whatever. Like there's plenty to complain abt with the skill trees, but you have to understand that the actual abilities Wilson gets from them are still unique, and still quite powerful in some cases. He rly isn't losing anything he hasn't lost by getting a skill tree in the first place, and in particular he could have a lot of use for certain speedruns and at worst is situational, which in itself means he's gained a unique role as a character. He doesn't need another new rework now or anything, the only rework Id want is a rework of the skill trees in general, Wilson is genuinely going to be just fine don't worry
#rat rambles#dst#my main problem with the skill trees is that it only encourages the bare minimum#like idk I feel like if I could turn on godmode and walk away from my computer and unlock everything its probably not great game design#like I get whay theyre going for but Id kind of preffer if doing certain character related tasks effected it or smth#mainly I like the idea of having to work to unlock your mains full potential#obviously not too much like an exp system would suck absolute ass but idk maybe certain tasks can shorten the timer#or maybe to unlock certain branches of the skill tree you have to meet a prerequisite first like the lunar and shadow trees#not as demanding as defeating celestial champion or fuelweaver ofc#like for a rly simple and easy example maybe wilson has to make an alchemy engine before being able to unlock his alchemy skills#and fer higher tiers he needs a shadow manipulatoro or smth#idk even simple stuff like that would at least encourage the player to do something while waiting around yknow?#like imagine a hyothetical wurt skill tree that unlocks as you expand your army making it more self sufficiant#just lil things youll probably be doing anyways but still makes it feel a bit more like youve earned smth for playing the character well#instead of just sitting there until you can unlock everything#I just worry that the skill trees are gonna feel too flat with the current system :/#I do rly like a lot of wormwood's stuff tho and I like that theyre attempting to find a compramise to making characters more powerful#without just handing you a broken character right off the bat#I just think it could use some work and Im not 100% sold on the skill trees being smth thatll improve the game in the long run#like Im sure it wont like ruin dst or anything I just think it might end up as a thing that makes new players have a more boring earlygame#experience especially if certain trees become like the standard for most players#I want it to be Fun unlocking things yknow?#idk Ill still be hyped if/when wortox gets a tree bestie needs the extra depth so fucking bad#he has so much potential pls let him have this#also rip to woodie for being eternally kind of mid Im not expecting his tree to effect his general ranking much tbh#it basically just gives him early game usefullness and some slight buffs to his other forms#the fact that you can only master one form at at time especially sucks ass tho tbh#like his weremoose form Needs the buff so so bad but the goose teleportation might end up the go to pick#I am a huge fan of the treeguard summoning tho#I also hope they just man up and give the wood helmet 80% reduction idc just let him have this klei

summary: fratboy!donghyuck turns paperboy! when he needs some extra money for college stuff like textbooks. he thinks delivering way outside of campus will save face from being a measly paperboy, but little does he know, the front yard light he hits (and breaks) belongs to his significantly well off classmate... (3k)
warnings: strong language here and there genre: enemies to ..friends? a/n: I’ve merged these two requests together! meaning I have and haven’t included aspects of each, hope that’s okay! (2021 edit: hi I found this in my drafts from last year and idk why I never posted it so yeah, here we go)
Tumblr media
“You’re late.” Your professor calls out as Donghyuck fails to sneak into lecture hall unnoticed
You sigh, you’d think he’d at least look ashamed to step foot into class at such a late time
You suppose with Lee Donghyuck, things were always different
The boy winces comically, inhaling between his teeth brazenly, and students stifle their laughter
Then with a simple raise of his hand, he gestures a flimsy ‘my bad’ and a ‘continue, continue’ before charmingly wiping the sweat off his brow and sitting in the empty seat saved by his friends
The professor frowns, “you’re late.” He repeats as if to encourage the young rebel to at least say something
“I’m Haechan,” the rebel says under his breath, flopping his backpack onto the desk, “not ‘late’” a sarcastic smile stretching his lips as his friends snicker at his dumb joke
You roll your eyes, he was unbelievable.
“Alright, alright, that’s enough.” The professor claps his hands. “And Mr. Late,” he emphasizes, “don’t think you’re getting away with anything.”
So he drops it on him like a bomb: “For the rest of this week, meet me in the office an hour before classes start.”
The grin on Donghyuck’s face immediately wipes off his face and his heart drops to his stomach
“Prof!” He whines back
Karma, you think. That’s what he gets for being so up his own ass
It wouldn’t kill him to wake up a little bit earlier. He relied so much on his ‘so loveable’ personality and popularity, you couldn’t stand it
If you even attempted to do half the things he got away with, you’d be expelled by now
You drop your pen and lean back into your seat with a sigh, you had no choice but to sit back and watch him waste valuable lesson time over this insolence
“You can’t do that!” Seriously, Donghyuck would do anything else other than doing extra hours in the morning
“And you can’t be late to my lectures all the time. What are you not getting here Mr. Late?”
“But I can’t.” Donghyuck immediately regrets saying that out loud like that; the vulnerability in his voice a little too close to home
“And, why not?” Your professor bounces back thankfully brushing past the genuine desperation in his students voice
The reason why not was something ‘Lee Haechan’ couldn’t say out loud. If he did, he’d lose everything
So instead, he sticks with his usual tongue-in-cheek mannerism, “because I don’t want to.”—A sneaky beat around the bush on his part because, little did everyone know, Lee Haechan, the star player and everyone’s favorite goofball, was a measly paperboy
Why?
Because he was dumb broke.
It was a job that required him waking up extra early to race around neighborhoods on his bike, something he had to do regardless rain or sun just tossing as many papers onto people's front porches,
Something he already was finding so much of a difficulty doing: racing to class and acting as if his muscles weren’t burning or the fabric under is backpack wasn’t drenched in sweat
But now this ‘meet me in the office an hour earlier than classes start’ bullshit
That would mean he’d have to wake up even earlier than he already did!
“Doesn’t matter if you don’t want to, you’re going to.” Is the last thing your professor says on that topic before swiftly moving on.
Oh to be born with a silver spoon in his mouth, is what he always thinks as he cycles his rounds in the wealthy neighborhood
If there was one thing he didn’t have, it was this.
He looks at the blaringly affluent homes that surrounded him and heaves another sigh, the same road he rides every morning (and now this extra early morning) effortlessly reminding him of how absolutely poor his ass was
Grumbling under his breath in a tantrum about his professor in his head, he angrily hurls newspapers onto doorsteps
It was the fact that he had to deal with this at ungodly hours in the morning—as if this job wasn’t already enough
Donghyuck frustratedly hurls another newspaper, but this time around, it shoots straight into someone's front garden post light, knocking it over and completely disrupting the perfect order in which the other trail of foot lights were set in
What the heck?
Immediately, he hits the breaks, his tires screeching loudly in the quietness of the early morning
Profanities frantically leave his lips as he hurriedly drops his bike onto the sidewalk in a clatter, and runs ahead to see the damage he’s made
The lamp was perfectly struck to its side.
Well, that’s just great—he can’t afford college textbooks let alone the broken path lamp on some rich persons lawn
So, his first thoughts are to pull it back into the place, completely irrational, but it’s the only thing that runs through his mind when he’s on a time crunch to get off private property
Except, the damn thing is stuck; literally cemented into this lopsided tilt
Man, Donghyuck swears he could tug all day and it wouldn’t get back into place
It was like the universe was having fun being against him
You, on the other hand, were watching this boy struggle to fix your light back into place from the comfort of your window.
He looked ridiculously cute trying to tug that lamp back into place, curled almost into a ball in the middle of your lawn, his eyebrows sewn into a line of frustration and lips pursed
You knew he was your paperboy from the start of his laborious cycling trips, but did Donghyuck know he was delivering papers to his very own classmate every morning?
You guess not.
...Until now
You knock three times from behind the glass, successfully capturing the boy's attention before mouthing, “what are you doing?”
The agitation on his features drops and immediately his eyes widen at your familiar face
Except, he isn’t given much time to reply before the lamp between his fingers gives in to his weight and recoils back smacking him right in the nose
“Holy shit!” You forget you’re only in socks when you open your front door and race towards him
Donghyuck automatically drops the (now broken) piece of your lawn to cup his bruising face
“Ah- Fucking shit- Ow!” He bends forwards on his knees into the grass, forehead pressing into your lawn before he rocks back up again to scrunch a deep frown up towards the sky. “Jesus-”
“Are you okay?!” Dropping to your knees, you place a cautious hand to his back
“Yes.” He groans into his palms, rocking back down towards the grass again
He definitely wasn’t.
But he needed to get out of there quick; there’s no way he’d let you recognize him
Yeah, you weren’t that stupid.
“Let me see,” you carefully bring him up by his shoulders, your head leaning down towards his to see the damage
“No- Ow! Crap-”
“You’re bleeding!” You try to pry at his wrists but he rips away from your hands
That’s when Donghyuck finally looks up to scowl at you; a frown stitched hard into into his forehead, eyes watering, hair all ruffled, but most alarmingly—a scarlet ribbon of blood running down his wrists
“I’m okay.” He muffles into his hands.
And wow did he look like an idiot.
“Sorry about your-”
“Jesus Hyuck, you’re not fooling anyone.”
The boy visibly stiffens at your choice of his name
“Haechan.” You quickly correct yourself
He gulps
You glance away
“Let’s just put an ice-pack on that.” Then you’re dragging him into your house
“Quit moving!” You dab a wet cloth across the cut above Donghyuck’s lip
“Well, it hurts.” He tries to complain without moving his mouth too much
You purse your lips and Donghyuck attempts to adjust the ice pack on his nose despite your warning
With a sigh, you take his wrist and bring his arm down to his lap, “Hyuck, if you keep-” you feel him stiffen under your touch. “Haechan.” You keep doing that. “Sorry.”
He just diverts his eyes elsewhere and mumbles, “It’s whatever.” under his breath
So, you bring your attention back to cleaning his cut, your cheeks heating up at the thought of how much of a creep you probably were by calling him by his old name
“I’m-”
“Y/n.” His voice was a little clearer this time, a soft frown on his face, “I remember.”
He kind of wished you didn’t though. This was so embarrassing.
You pull the cloth away from his reddening cheeks, that annoyed flustered look on his face pulling at the nostalgia in you
It was only natural to call him ‘Hyuck’ because you had been going to the same school as him for years
Ever since you were kids, through highschool and now somehow, still impossibly in college, you’ve been with him
You almost had every class with the loud idiot back when he was still ‘Donghyuck’
For as long as you could remember, he had always been the center of gravity in every class, his punchy personality and almost too friendly way of speaking easily giving him the ‘popular’ tag
It made you have a bit of a crush on him when you were younger, but who didn’t?
Now, you found him irritating.
The only thought you had about him consisted of wishing he’d stop using his status to his advantage and just come to class right instead of wasting your lesson time
“Can I ask you something?” He dodges your hand for a second, eyes looking down as if to hide away his embarrassment
“Sure,” you naturally reach forward again to dab his cut, but he stops you at the wrist
“Can you,” you lift your focus away from his lip to the slight grimace on his face, “not tell anyone about this?”
You blink at him, and a muscle works in his jaw
“Seriously, people can’t know about this.”
But you simply pull your wrist out of his grip and go back to tending to his wound
You hadn’t told anyone since you’d found he was your paperboy, and that was weeks ago. So why was he so worked up?
Hadn’t the situation already called for it anyway? Who in their right mind would tell anyone after this? For you, it was obviously common courtesy
But before you can reply, he tilts his face into your line of vision. “Are you listening to me?” The frown on his face deepens and he instantly brings the ice pack in this hand over his face at the sudden pain through his nose
That attitude of his easily drove you crazy.
“That was a stupid question.” You give up on cleaning the blood on his lip and push the ice-pack deeper into his face, “if you used that stupid, egotistical brain of yours-”
“Ah! Ow- Ooow-”
“Maybe you’d realize I’ve never told anyone about your paper rounds before.”
“Ow!” He wrenches away from your frustrated grip, the look on his face just as annoyed as you. “You’re going to break my nose!”
“You broke my yard lamp!”
He looks at you with a huff; a slight puff to his reddened cheeks, furrowed brows and tears ever so slightly brimming his eyes
If that lamp didn’t cost about five times the price of his bike he’d say something back.
You easily read that off his expression
“You don’t have to pay for it.” You start to pack up the first-aid kit you’d opened up on your coffee table just to not look at him in the eyes when you say that
As much as he irritated you, you weren’t that petty
“Really?” The genuine doubt in his face relaxing the annoyance in you a little
“Yeah.” Money wasn’t a problem for you, it was his attitude
But the casualness Donghyuck catches in your tone reminds him of the starkly different worlds you live in
So he musters it up within himself to at least show some kind of gratitude, “...Thanks.”
And it’s almost inaudible when he says it under his breath like that
But you catch it as you pull a bandaid out of the box before you close it
“On one condition.” You turn to look at him dead in the eyes.
One of his brows slightly quirk up in interest
“Hand.”
He opens his palm to you and you purposely slap the bandaid into it.
“Stop coming late to class, you’re wasting everyone's time.”
Instantly, his jaw goes slack.
Unable to say anything he stares as you rise from your seat in content, first aid kit in hand, before walking behind the sofa towards the kitchen
You didn’t have to say it like that.
He swings an elbow over the back of the couch, “Sorry for bringing you the paper every morning!” Maybe he was a little offended
You turn on your heels to face him, noticing the bandaid now crushed in the fist of the hand he had over the couch and ice-pack abandoned on the coffee table (the full glory of his bruising nose and cut lip on show)
“I said ‘don’t be late’ not ‘don’t bring me the paper’.” Then you disappear into the kitchen.
Donghyuck has to close his eyes for a second, exhaling a frustrated sigh before standing up in a huff and following your footsteps.
How could you say something so insensitive? Yeah, maybe he broke your lamp or whatever, but he tried to fix it!
And sure, he was sort of bleeding over your couch and used your ice pack, but he totally said thanks
“That’s just- You’re so,” He’s standing at the doorway by the time you’re done, bandaid still stuck in the frustrated grip of his hand
“So what, Hyuck?”
Seeing the all star, team favorite class clown crumble at the simple play of his old nickname made something in your stirr
“Insufferable.”
You? Your lips turn up in amusement. He was the insufferable one, you almost scoff
“You and your big house, fancy first aid kit, stupid lamps on your lawn,” he takes a bold step forward at every reason until he’s one step to being chest to chest, “I’m just trying to do my job, and go to class.”
You look at him straight in the eyes. “Well, you’re hardly succeeding at either of those.”
You...
Donghyuck runs his tongue across his inner cheek before biting down on his bottom lip in a brazen attempt to act unfazed by that fatal side comment
A coppery, metal taste pricks his tongue, and he realizes he’s reopened up the cut on his lip again
But that was the least of his worries. You had no idea what it was like being broke. If there was anything he didn’t have, it was everything you did. You probably couldn’t even fathom the type of shit he’s had to go through and even more so: hide.
The way you acted as if his biggest problem in life was as easy as brushing the dust of his shoulder just pissed him off.
“Have you ever thought of waking up earlier?”
Ah, there it was again, Donghyuck wants to roll his eyes
“I sleep late.” He says dryly.
“Then sleep earlier.”
“I have other shit to do, like study.”
“Then, manage your time better.” If he really wanted to ‘do his job’ and ‘get to class’, he could’ve done it by now.
He was always messing about with friends and organizing parties, stories spread around like wildfire on campus about the things he occupied himself with other than ‘having shit to do like studying’, you weren’t stupid
It was by the end of high school, when you began to see him as a person who valued himself with the amount of friends knew or the amount of partying he did
And at first you were mad that he had the things you never did, but seeing him easily get washed up by it all made you think maybe you didn’t need what he had
Now you figure his ego was so far up his ass he couldn’t even sit right—that’s probably why he couldn’t cycle to class on time
“And don’t use your bike, you’re clearly slow on it.” You tack on.
“I don’t even have a car!” He snaps back
He made you want to pull out your own hair. “Jeez, first this, then that, god Hyuck, you keep-”
“You say that as if it were so easy,” his words overlapping yours as you continue
“-making up so much bullshit because the only thing you really put effort into is your image,” Your words running over his too.
“-if I could get a car, don’t you think I’d have one already?”
“Then I’ll just take you!” That puts both of you to a stop.
“So, quit giving me stupid excuses to ruin my lectures every day.” If the things money could buy were what he needed, you had it
You snatch the bandaid out of his fist, rip it open and harshly stick it across his bottom lip. It was annoying to see him ignore it like that.
“You usually finish an hour before class right?” You frown up at him
Donghyuck opens his mouth then closes it again.
“Because if you reroute and make me the last house, I’ll take you with me by car.”
“What?” He manages to say. What the hell just happened?
a/n: okay so there was a lot more to the story and character development but it ran too long I had to cut it off bc I cba to edit lmao
also I seemed to have gone way out of the request lines near the end my bad my bad, but I at least hope you’ve enjoyed it! thoughts???? a part 2?

how did you get into writing fic? i'd love to start but idk even where to begin! I loved adats so I was wondering do you have any advice?
Oh my goodness! I am so flattered you’ve asked me this. Yes, I can absolutely help. I’ll throw a bunch of rambling under the cut.
I started writing fic probably when I was... sixteen years old? A lot of my early works were oneshots. I couldn’t figure out how to do anything plot heavy for the life of me, so I just stuck to AUs or whatever I felt like. I wasn’t in any particular fandom -- I really wrote whatever I had ideas for. I remember I tried once to do a plot-heavy story and I received a review absolutely ripping it to shreds. Like, it was so cruel I cried lol. I ended up deleting the fic. Years later, I get what they were trying to say (basically, more substance, less style), but at the time it cut to the quick. Really, it was only when I was in my twenties that I started writing work that was longer and/or better.
The fandom that helped me actually write plot heavy work was a historical-based fandom. As I’m a historian, it was perfect. I got to use my research skills and knowledge to create works that, above all, aimed to feel authentic. I mainly read historical fiction, so I was familiar with how that genre worked. Miraculously, people loved my work. I think I wrote about ~200k in the period of a year? These were several short stories (20-40k) and a few oneshot filler fics. While I was part of this fandom I also helped organise a Big Bang which was a lot of hard work but was extremely rewarding. Along with that, I interacted mainly with other fic writers, so I spent a lot of time chatting to people about ideas and encouraging other writers, and it just created a lovely medley where no concept was impossible or any line of dialogue too difficult. We supported each other and it was truly like a little commune. I gradually stepped away from the fandom mainly because it was just a part of my life at a very specific time, and almost as soon as that time was over, my love for that story/ship faded, but I firmly believe I figured out a lot of how/what I do now purely through that experience.
Regarding ADATS
With ADATS, it stemmed entirely from wanting to “explain” three months in canon (at the end of season three). I was interested in the idea of season four setting up Will/Mike in canon, and I wanted to test the source material to see if I could draw from what already existed to create something authentic. I began with that simple idea: what happened from July to October in 1985? Then I thought about the major themes I wanted to hit -- family, friendship, coming of age, sexuality -- and I nested them around the bigger concept: how do I get Mike from being ostensibly straight to realising he is gay? That meant thinking of two steps: Mike discovering his attraction to guys; Mike discovering his attraction to Will. Those two concepts were separate “arcs” that needed addressing in different ways. Balance was key to weaving them together and making the reader feel like they knew what was coming (and that they felt smart for putting the pieces together) without just rushing through and going “now kiss!” That’s partly why ADATS needs a sequel, lol: because it’s not finished!
Writing process
The first thing I do when I start to get an idea is I write it down. Sounds obvious. But when you have a killer line of dialogue come to you in the shower and you think “I’ll remember that” -- reader, you will not remember it. You gotta get it down ASAP! I do that the whole way through, as generally I’ll be thinking of scenes I’m stuck on and then it’ll just come to me and I’ll quickly jot it down.
The next thing -- or what I do in the meantime -- is start structuring. I plan. I try to plan a lot. Sometimes it’s okay to write “and something happens here to get them here”, because you’ll figure it out later, but for the most part I’ve discovered that planning is like gold and you can’t get enough of it. I break my work up into generally 3-4 parts/sections, and I treat each section like a mini story. So each part needs a conflict and resolution, and it needs to flow into the next section. You need to have a feeling of things evolving and maturing. Once I’ve planned those little bits, I start thinking about the bigger plot arc and how I can drop in hints along the way. I’m probably not a subtle or skilled enough writer to yet pull off that sort of gasping twist you get in really excellent books, but I’m trying to get there. It’s hard, is what I’m trying to say, but that’s okay, because we’re all learning.
Then I generally do aesthetic stuff. Sounds stupid, probably. But nothing helps me get more into a mood than doing a Pinterest board or -- most of all -- making a Spotify mix. I start thinking about the vibe and the general atmosphere, and then I almost exclusively listen to that mix when I’m working. Sort of like muscle memory? Just to get the creative juices associated with that particular selection of songs.
Another thing I’ll do along with plot structure is character structure. This is a biggie. I mean, a story is nothing without characters. So I’ll just jot down a bunch of bullet points of characters and particular aspects that I want to highlight or remember. I hate continuity errors in fiction. Like, if someone says they work on Maple Street but later in the fic they’re working on Pine Street. I hate that. So I keep note of specific things that my main character might notice at repeated points in the story (colours, places, smells, names, sounds -- so they’re all consistent even as the narrative evolves). That’s another thing -- your characters’ motivations. Not everyone is going to be a huge player, but they all do serve a purpose. The most important character is obviously your main character. I personally think it’s important to let your M.C. be an arse at times. They’re going to be mean, they’re going to misinterpret things or fly off the handle... just let ‘em. Let them be wretched humans, and then bring them back and make them realise what they’ve done. Let them learn! I love consequences in fiction, lol.
At the same time, I’ll probably start writing. We’ve already written down some snippets of neat dialogue or descriptions, but now we should start the actual process. For me, I used to start at the beginning. Usually this was the most fleshed out anyway: I’ll have a clear idea of the beginning and the end, but nothing in the middle. These days, if I have a scene in mind that I can’t forget, I’ll just write it. It will possibly get scrapped or rewritten, but that’s okay, because at least you’ve got it down and now you can devote your brain power to something useful (like figuring out what the middle is supposed to be). I’ll have half a dozen of totally out of context scenes just littered in my Word document that I’ll add to as I go along. Eventually, though, you’re going to start writing properly, and that’s when you write your opening scene.
Opening scenes: super important. Every time I write a scene I think: what is the point of this? What do I want the reader to learn or takeaway? Sometimes you do have filler scenes, but they also serve a different purpose (perhaps to establish a group dynamic or to explore/describe a character’s surroundings). Mainly, though, every scene should push something forward in some way, whether it’s character development or a plot point. So, with an opening scene, I always think you have to establish: where you are; who you are; what they are doing; where they’ve come from (in a philosophical and practical sense); and where they’re going (ditto). That doesn’t have to happen in the first paragraph -- that would be silly. But if you sprinkle that information in over time it’ll gradually build up a picture of your character and that way the reader can get an idea of who they are. You basically need to give a snapshot of what your story is about. This also goes back to the character creator stuff: where they are at the start should be different to where they end up. How that happens is, of course, because of plot, and because you’ve structured everything to the nth degree, we’ve got a very clear progression of that character’s growth (/s easier said than done lol).
General advice
Write down everything: every idea, a bit of dialogue, a description, whatever. Write it down. Doesn’t have to be neat. Just has to be on paper. You can’t remember everything, so if you’re spending time trying to hold those things in your head, it’s taking up space for new ideas to come along.
Structure, plan, structure, plan. Sometimes it’s boring and I hate it. Other times, when I’ve not written in a few days and I open the Word doc and think wtf is this supposed to be, I am very grateful for Past Me for leaving such detailed notes. Seriously, it helps so much. Oneshots don’t really need planning, in my experience. You just get those out there. But multi-chaptered stories really do, even ones that “just” focus on a relationship.
Whatever you want to write, commit to it. Space goblins invade Hawkins? Do it. Eleven and Max find themselves in a cult akin to Midsommar (2019) and must escape? Yes. Just... whatever you want to do, remember that you’re writing it for you. Write what most interests you, what makes you when you reread it go AHHHHH I LOVE THIS!! Because that makes it a thousand times easier to actually get on with the writing when you enjoy what you’re doing.
Write a lot. Every day, if you can, or at least at designated times. Occasionally I have a very specific headspace/vibe I have to be in, but sometimes it just hits me and I’ll say to my partner “I need to write now” and just disappear, lol. The more you write the more you write. It’s so, so, so true. Cannot emphasise this enough. When I wrote that ~200k in twelve months? It was because I literally wrote every. day. Or near enough. Remember that some days you’ll write 200 words, and other days you’ll write 20k (this happened to me with ADATS -- part of the reason I finished it so quickly was because I had sprints of writing 10k+ at a time that only happened because I was in the rhythm of it). Write, write, write. Who cares if it’s crap! No one will see it until you are ready. In the meantime, just write!
Probably last of all (although I could go on and on) is connect with other writers. If you’re struggling to start, sometimes just talking about it can help a huge amount. I hope it goes without saying that you can message me whenever you want, anon or not, and I will talk to you. We can talk about ideas or I can beta stuff, whatever you want! Find like-minded people and talk to them about what you want to do. Another thing this helps is in advertising your work when you do publish. I see a lot of first time fic writers get super down because they publish their magnum opus on AO3 but no one comments. Honestly, it’s because no one knows you’ve published! You don’t have to be tooting your own horn every which way, but just actively talking about your work and even collaborating with other content creators with get you hyped and other people too (and the input and encouragement other fandom members give is just... out of this world. Anon messages helped me finish ADATS when I was really worried I wouldn’t [that’s the truth]. Seriously, support is everything). When you have people excited about your work, you get excited. It’s really as simple as that.
I could go on but this is already horrendously long. I hope even a bit of this helps! If you want to chat or have any more questions, just hit me up any time.

Billboard #1s 1976
Under the cut.
Bay City Rollers – “Saturday Night” -- January 3, 1976
They prove they can spell Saturday a lot. Anyway, he's going out to dance with his girl on Saturday night. The song is bouncy to a fault -- I feel like the repetitive, samey beat is following one of those balls the mind-controlled kids bounced in A Wrinkle in Time. It sounds like a cheerleading chant. Something to do aerobics to, not to dance to.
C.W. McCall – “Convoy” -- January 10, 1976
So, besides the cb radio fad, 1976 was also the year of the OPEC oil crisis and basically, it seems the reason truckers became folk heroes evading The Man in popular consciousness had its roots in international relations. Anyway, it's a baritone story song, but about truckers instead of cowboys. I like the verse, "Well, we shot the line and we went for broke/ With a thousand screamin' trucks/ An' eleven long-haired Friends o' Jesus/ In a chartreuse micro-bus." It's a silly song with a lot of trucker lingo (or fake trucker lingo, idk), and I don't exactly dislike it, but I'm not gonna listen to it again either.
Barry Manilow – “I Write The Songs” -- January 17, 1976
It's obvious from the first lines "I've been alive forever/ And I wrote the very first songs" that Barry's not singing about himself. It turns out "music" wrote the all the songs. Except that's obnoxious too. People wrote the songs. Also possibly birds, but definitely people. And it's musical goo.
Diana Ross – “Theme From Mahogany (Do You Know Where You’re Going To)” -- January 24, 1976
It's a song about regretting letting an ex go, and probably more. There's a ton of orchestration that sounds like it belongs in a lightweight movie, and Diana Ross doesn't put much emotion into it. It is a thoughtful song, rather than one calling for melodrama, but I would like to hear some emotion here, and I am not getting it. A trifle light as air.
Ohio Players – “Love Rollercoaster” -- January 31, 1976
It's a funk/disco thing. I've listened to it three times trying to get anything from it at all. The lyrics are dumb, asserting love is like this or that amusement park experience. I'd think "love rollercoaster" would be about how there are huge highs and terrifying lows, but it's not. It's horribly repetitive. I guess it's danceable. But I find it dull.
Paul Simon – “50 Ways To Leave Your Lover” -- February 7, 1976
I love how pared down this song is. It's sort of funky, without all the funk orchestration. The simple drums are the main focus. The melody's also simple, without being dull. And the lyrics aren't complex; a woman is encouraging the narrator to leave his official lover for her. "Just get yourself free." But she's doing it so very nicely -- "I wish there were something I could do to make you smile again." Not that the song expects us to believe she or the narrator actually are nice. Or that it's really all that easy to leave your lover. But it doesn't tell you what to think about the situation either. An excellent song.
Rhythm Heritage – “Theme From S.W.A.T.“ -- February 28, 1976
Apparently, there was a TV show about S.W.A.T., and this was its instrumental theme song. Which is exactly what it sounds like. Not a good TV theme either. I looked up 1976 shows, and here are some shows with better TV themes from that year: Charlie's Angels, Alice, M*A*S*H, Happy Days (which surprisingly only hit #5), All in the Family, Barney Miller, Welcome Back Kotter (which hit #1 later), The Jeffersons (that Movin' On Up doesn't seem to have been a hit is shocking), The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Sanford and Son, The Bob Newhart Show... look, all of them. All shows in 1976 that I can find had better theme songs than S.W.A.T., often to a staggering degree. But songs don't reach #1 for being good. Still, usually I can hazard a reason for them. I can't for this one.
The Four Seasons – “December, 1963 (Oh, What A Night)” -- March 13, 1976
It's about the narrator getting laid for the first time. He didn't even know the name of the woman, which completely undercuts anything happy or fun about this song for me, and makes it icky. At least it's not falsetto. I wasn't born when it came out, yet it was overplayed on the oldies stations in the 90s so much that I developed a deep and abiding hatred for it.
Johnnie Taylor – “Disco Lady” -- April 3, 1976
This is a song about disco that isn't a disco song. As such, it confuses me. It's kind of a mild funk/soul song, and it's about how turned on this guy is watching a woman disco. Johnnie Taylor can definitely sing, and I'd like to hear some more traditional soul/jazz stuff from him. This isn't doing it for me.
The Bellamy Brothers – “Let Your Love Flow” -- May 1, 1976
I saw the title and immediately the song shoved itself into my head. It's such a mellow song, but the hook is still monstrous. The song is about how it's the season for love, so grab your lover and "let your love flow." It's one of many 70s songs about sex that sounds like it could be a song about how pretty trees are. It kind of is about how pretty trees are too. I rather like it.
John Sebastian – “Welcome Back” -- May 8, 1976
Welcome Back, Kotter was not on Nick at Nite or WGN or anything else that ran old TV shows when I was watching TV (rather than the internet), so I've never seen it. The theme song lays it all out -- someone moves back to his old neighborhood, where they need him. As TV theme songs go, it's fine. Just fine, though. When "Movin' On Up" and "Love Is All Around" were also theme songs for TV shows in 1976, why this one? The rewards of mediocrity I guess.
The Sylvers – “Boogie Fever” -- May 15, 1976
It's literal. You come in contact with someone who can't stop boogie-ing, and you will catch the Boogie Fever yourself. Listening to the song will certainly make you want to boogie, unless you are immune. A fun dance song, and I wouldn't be surprised if Tik-Tok made it a hit again in the next year.
Wings – “Silly Love Songs” -- May 22, 1976
"Some people want to fill the world with silly love songs / What’s wrong with that?" Nothing.  Paul even emphasizes something important in it: "Love isn't silly at all." Still, I can't say it's one of my favorites. I get tired of it about halfway through, and it's a long song. A silly love song shouldn't be nearly 6 minutes long.
Diana Ross – “Love Hangover” -- May 29, 1976
It starts with Diana Ross making sex sounds that I find embarrassing. Then she goes into singing about how she doesn't want to get over "the sweetest love hangover", and a minute and a half in it becomes a disco song. I find the entire thing irritating.
Starland Vocal Band – “Afternoon Delight” -- July 10, 1976
"Afternoon delight" is sex, but these doofuses may as well be singing about tea and scones for all the excitement this song has. It still doesn't deserve the hatred it's gotten. But it's not good either. The number of sexless sex songs in the 70s is just... ugh.
The Manhattans – “Kiss And Say Goodbye” -- July 24, 1976
He has to break up with the person he's been cheating with. It's an achingly sad Philly soul song. It also manages to be way sexier than the vast majority of 70s sex songs. Real emotion (or the ability to fake real emotion) does a lot, as does being able to sing like this. And beautiful backing music. It's so sad, and so good.
Elton John & Kiki Dee – “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart” -- August 7, 1976
This song isn't mutual. Elton John's the one who sings "don't go breaking my heart," and Kiki Dee's the one singing "I won't go breaking your heart." It is all and entirely and completely about the male character's feelings. Of course it's an Elton John song so I wouldn't like it anyway, but I really don't like this one, especially because it still gets airplay.
Bee Gees – “You Should Be Dancing” -- September 4, 1976
I hate the Bee Gees. Not on a personal level -- as far as I know they're perfectly decent people -- but their music. And I have a particular hatred for Barry Gibb's voice. His horrible falsetto has caused me immense pain in my life. If I should be dancing, then they need to shut up and sit down and let a band that I can dance to take the stage. As it is, I feel like a dog during the 4th of July; I just want to hide under a bed.
KC & The Sunshine Band – “(Shake, Shake, Shake) Shake Your Booty” -- September 11, 1976
Here's a command to dance that I can get behind. Or that my behind can get behind. Again, a great song for dancing but not for listening to from KC & The Sunshine Band.
Wild Cherry – “Play That Funky Music” -- September 18, 1976
Good for both dancing and listening. How you can listen and not get into that funk groove even when sitting, though, I don't know. Play that funky music till you die.
Walter Murphy & The Big Apple Band – “A Fifth Of Beethoven” -- October 9, 1976
This was the #1 hit the week I was born. It's a good one for me; it's by a guy who loved classical music enough to write contemporary music based on it. Whenever I'm faced with questions about what kind of music is my favorite, my answer is "the good kind." Anyway, this is a fun song.
Rick Dees And His Cast Of Idiots – “Disco Duck (Part 1)” -- October 16, 1976
Billboard used to base their hit songs on calling record stores and asking what was selling. I think that's how this stupid, stupid song reached number one. I think it was a prank by a bunch of stoned college kids who co-ordinated it over cb radio or something. It's about a duck. Who discos. With an obnoxious voice and obnoxious music. It's by a radio dj, and is as painfully unfunny as radio djs usually are.
Chicago – “If You Leave Me Now” -- October 23, 1976
This song makes me have a weird reaction. It gives me the warm, comfortable fuzzies, and makes me want to sleep. That last part might not be too surprising, as it is a soft song, but to me it is very much more than that. I have always had trouble sleeping at night, since birth. My parents hit on putting me into the car and driving around with soft music playing to get me to go lights out. I need to ask them if they played Chicago during that. I can't think of any other reason for my hindbrain association with this szzzzzzz....
Steve Miller Band – “Rock’n Me” -- November 6, 1976
Good bar rock, since it's the Steve Miller Band. Lyrically, it's also more complex than most of its genre. At first, he sings "I got to please my sweet baby, yeah." Then he starts singing about all the places he's been, including "Northern California where the girls are warm." And then "Babe, you know you are a friend of mine/ And you know that it's true/ That all the things that I do/ Are gonna come back to you in your sweet time." Well then. I can totally see @katatty's Duncan Huckleberry singing this song. And getting away with everything. It's a fun song, though (because?) the narrator is likely a dirtbag.
Rod Stewart – “Tonight’s The Night (Gonna Be Alright)” -- November 13, 1976
It's a sex song, and it is hugely skeevy. "Don't deny your man's desire/ You’d be a fool to stop this tide / Spread your wings and let me come inside." No, asshole, cover it up if you want to come near. And how about if you want her, you care something about her desire? This was a huge hit from a huge star, but I have never heard it until now. Ugh. I need to shower, this is gross. Also I hope whoever he's singing to is packing mace.
BEST OF 1976 -- "50 Ways to Leave Your Lover." I don't even think it's an amazing song, just a very good one, but the 1976 #1s don't leave me much to work with. Fleetwood Mac released some singles, but people wanted "Disco Duck" rather than "Over My Head." Tons of great music has survived from 1976, but most of it is not on this list. WORST OF 1976 -- "Tonight's the Night (Gonna Be Alright)". "Disco Duck" is stupid, but it doesn't make my skin crawl.

03- BUCKET LIST
Tumblr media
My Day 03!
Here is a list of all the goals I want to achieve, dreams  I want to fulfill and life experiences I desire to experience before I die in no particular order.
1. To be able to see all the 81 provinces of the Philippines!
As much as I’ve always like to travel, Local and International destinations, I would like to complete all the provinces of my own Country first. I know that there are a lot of beautiful places to explore in the Philippines itself, some are still pure and untouched. I like Nature tripping, sightseeing, walk and explore, so for sure, this is gonna be something to treasure for the rest of my life.
2. Go on a Carribean Cruise!
I know that this may require a lot of money and definitely, it wouldn't be the first option if I get the chance to choose what to do as of these days, but still, this is on my Bucket List. Well, I guess the least I could do is to start on an Asian cruise trip and hop Island to Island.
3. Do the thing that scares you! Rephrased: Do the things that excite you.
I’ve always wanted to experience exciting things as I’m fond of doing outdoor activities. The scary ones, Sky Diving, Cliff diving, Hot Air ballon, Mountain Climbing, Trekking, Aerial Trekking, Mountain Biking, Scuba Diving (haven't tried any one of them outdoor yet but I've tried indoor aerial trek, wall climbing, and bungee jumping, but soon I will! 😅) or even the a-little-bit-easier-ones, Camping in the woods, Ziplines or trail walking and the stuff.
4. Live in a Wood House by the Lake.
This depends as to where we are going to settle later on. If RJ and I chose to settle with our family in the Philippines, then we could at least build a Log house somewhere in the province.
5. Learn to play Chess.
Not only to play the basics but to master it. Idk, playing chess is kinda smart and interesting to me and whenever I happen to cross any videos of a Chess tournament or competition and I see the way how the players, young and old concentrates and do their moves are quite fascinating.
6. Start a Business.
Definitely included in my Bucket list. As early as this stage, husband and I are planning to start our own business in the years to come. My options are always related to Food business, like to put up a small but cozy All day Breakfast. Other options are Water station, Travel Agency, or a Laundry Shop.
7. Do a Volunteer Work.
I feel excited just by the thoughts that I’m doing a volunteer work of any kind that travels from one place to another. I think this is one of the best ways to expose myself to new people by offering my help in terms of skills, knowledge, time and effort whether it is assisting the elderly at the old folks home, working with delinquent kids, beach cleanups, tree planting, distributing food, water and medicines to less fortunate people and the likes.
8. Learn a New Language.
Learning a New language is never easy. I’ve been to a few Countries where English is not the second language and I admire people that are multi-lingual. I’m personally fluent in English as this is our second dialect in the Philippines aside from Living away in a foreign country, I have to communicate in English for easier understanding.  I have a few knowledge in Japanese, I understand a bit but I couldn't speak and mostly word by word haha! Definitely, I’d love to learn a few in the future, to be fluent in Japanese perhaps, or Spanish, French maybe or Ilocano- my husband native tongue.
9. Learn how to cook.
TBH, I know how to cook simple dishes like Typical Filipino food but I don't practice that much. I never used to cook due to different reasons:
A. I never cooked at home even until I graduated College as my Father used to be the head of the kitchen. When I left home and live away, I seldom cook for myself and would always order take away food from the restaurants, or eat light food or just fruits. I only cook occasionally whenever I’m in the Philippines and here abroad, RJ always does the cooking.
B. Another reason is that I want my kitchen to be small and cozy, clean and tidy without the stinky smell as this would give me the encouragement to cook, haha!
10. To Live in the Slums/Squatters/Raft for some time.
I know this is kinda silly but I have this enchantment to experience how to live in the Slum area or to Live in a raft floating in the creek/river for some time like a month or so. I’ve always mentioned this to RJ that during our vacation, I want to arrange ourselves for a month stay in the slum or if we were not able to bear in the slums, but somewhere like under the bridge or live near the train station or the raft and document it for record purpose without revealing our real identity and blend ourselves with the people and environment. I know that he doesn't support me on this one but just to give in to my whims, he promised to go with me, soon!
That’s All!
End.

Cheerleader (Steve Harrington x Reader)
Summary: Steve asks the reader out after a successful basketball game, but he needed some help first.
Request?: Yep! “I know you haven’t posted writing in a while but I really liked loved and was wondering if you could write something about Steve dating a cheerleader? I feel like you have really good characterization of the kids and stuff so can you please put them in the story too? Thanks”
Word Count: 2076
A/N: Oh man! I really love this request, and you’re totally right, I haven’t posted writing in a while! I don’t know what to say because there’s no excuse except the fact that I’m lazy and I’m really sorry. I did get a lot of inspiration from this ask though, so thank you anon! I can’t promise this will accurately represent all cheerleaders as I only know my own experience (I cheered for seven years, only one of them was in high school, and I quit because I could not stand the girls on my high school cheer squad), but I hope you’ll enjoy it anyways.
Warnings: Nothing really? A few curse words maybe? I accidentally referenced High School Musical but like ? Idk nothing too bad.
It took all of Steve’s courage to ask you out when he did. He and Nancy had broken up not too long ago, he was still struggling with trying to understand the Upside Down and Eleven, and he hadn’t really gotten back on top of his basketball game yet. He knew he wasn’t “King Steve” anymore. I mean, he hadn’t truly held that title in a long time, but without Nancy by his side he finally realized the truth. So yeah, it took a lot of courage to ask you out.
But he knew he had to. There was no way he was going to let someone like you walk out of his life without at least attempting to ask you out. You were, for lack of a better word, perfect. I mean, you weren’t necessarily queen bee or anything, but not because you couldn’t be, you just didn’t want to be. You were happy spending your days going to school, to cheer practice, and straight back home to do homework. You only really went to games because you had to, and you didn’t actually enjoy the presence of the other girls on your cheer squad that much. You stuck around because the team needed a leader and you knew that you had to be that if you wanted to get anywhere with your cheerleading.
He always knew he was attracted to you, tangentially, I mean, who wouldn't be? But he never knew just how attracted to you he actually was until he came back from the Upside Down fiasco and he could hardly pass the ball to a teammate. You were still there though, on the sidelines cheering for him.
Well, you were cheering for the whole team, but he could tell from the encouraging smiles you were sending him and the random ruffles of your pom-poms paired with a shout of his jersey number that nobody else was receiving, that you were really cheering for him.
This game also happened to be the first one the kids went to. That may have had something to do with why he was so off his game. The kids he had spent so much time and energy protecting were in the crowd and he wasn't able to focus because the little shitheads wouldn't stop shouting when he was attempting to focus on the game. (Normally that wouldn't be an issue as basketball games tended to get loud, however, he had spent so much time training himself to know that shouts from those kids either meant trouble or danger that the slightest yelp or gasp from one of their mouths sent him into a panic.)
"Come on Harrington! Get your head in the game!" you shouted, dropping your perky cheerleader persona for a minute to give actual advice when he turned his head to stare off at the crowd again. "Keep your eye on the ball, not in the crowd," you added before mumbling a quick "dumbass" under your breath. The girls around you eyed you questioningly, but you rolled your eyes, shrugged your shoulders, and called set for the next cheer. Facing the crowd, you called "Ready!" and began the cheer, but you couldn't help but notice the gaze of some middle schoolers staring at you from the end of the bleachers. You were obviously used to the attention, however, they were staring at you so intently that the questioning looks in their eyes threw you off guard and you almost messed up the cheer. You quickly plastered the smile back on your face, finished the cheer, and called for a quick water break.
As you sipped from the water bottle, you turned back to the game. Steve seemed more focused than he was before yet he still wasn’t doing great, and you smiled to yourself, secretly hoping you were at least some of the cause of that. You knew Steve was someone you wanted to get to know, but you also knew he wasn’t someone you could get to know. “King Steve” may have been gone, but it was still Steve Harrington, you didn’t stand a chance. You were the nerd who just happened to be the cheer captain, even without Tommy and Carol he was still better than you. At least that’s what you thought. Everyone at Hawkins High knew that you could get anybody you wanted, but how would you know that?
As you returned to the sidelines of the game you noticed there was just enough time to call one more cheer before halftime without interrupting important parts of the game, so you called out a popular one to get the people in the crowd ready for the halftime performance.
Once the court cleared up, all of the players heading to their respective team rooms, you took your place, alongside the other cheerleaders, in the center. After the brief performance, the crowd went back to doing their own thing and you rushed to get a few things done before halftime was over. Before you could get to that however, you were stopped by the group of kids you had seen earlier.
There were six in total, four guys and two girls. You recognized four of them, Mike Wheeler, Nancy’s little brother, Will Byers, Jonathan’s brother, Maxine Mayfield, Hargrove’s stepsister, and of course Dustin Henderson. You didn’t really know how or why Steve started hanging out with him, and apparently the rest of the kids in that group, but you did know that it was the talk of the school for a few weeks. Dustin spoke up first. “How do you know Steve?”
“What?” you asked, more confused as to why these kids were talking to you and less concerned about finishing up your halftime duties.
The girl you recognized as Max repeated the question, seemingly annoyed. “How do you know Steve?”
Again, you looked at them confused, “How do you know Steve?”
The group looked to each other and tried to come up with a way to tell you how he knew them without explaining the whole Upside Down thing.
“He’s our babysitter!” Dustin exclaimed.
“Um, okay…” you spoke, trailing off while you checked the countdown to the second half of the game on the scoreboard. You didn’t really want to deal with the cheerleaders or the snack bar staff, so you decided to humor the kids.
“Okay, so are you friends with Steve?” Mike asked.
“Uh, not really?” you admitted, still trying to figure out where the conversation was going.
“Well you seemed really invested in how he was playing today,” Max said again.
“Yeah. I’m a cheerleader. It’s kinda my job to be invested in how they’re playing. Look, I don’t know what you guys want from me, but I gotta go. Cheer stuff and all that. But hey, I don’t know why, but every time any of you make the slightest noise he like freaks out and he’s already been having enough trouble on the court without a distraction, so if you could, I don’t know, refrain from screaming this half, I think we could have a chance at a win today.” You smiled briefly before rushing out to the snack bar to finish what you needed to do before the game started back up again.
The rest of the game was extremely intense. The kids actually listened to your advice and kept quiet the whole time. You weren’t sure if it was because of what you said, or something else, because any time you happened to look in their direction they were whispering to each other, their heads all leaned in close as if scheming. You were so into the game you almost forgot to call cheers, but each time you did, you found the six children in the corner of the stands staring curiously at you again while leaning their heads together and whispering. You shrugged that off pretty quickly when you noticed the score slowly being brought up.
Steve had been pretty off of his basketball game the past few weeks, so seeing that he was improving, and gaining his place back at the front of the team, bringing the score slowly up to tie the other team and eventually to bring Hawkins back in the lead, was awesome.
As the game finished, you called the final cheer, and headed out to congratulate the boys on their win kids were already here surrounding him. You decided to leave them be and head off to gather your stuff, but before you could make it to Steve, he was surrounded by the kids again, so you decided to not bug them.
As you shouldered your cheer bag, pulled your keys out, and headed to leave the gym you heard someone call your name. As you whipped your head around, your ponytail flipping it’s way to the other side of your head, you saw Steve surrounded by the kids still, but he looked as if he was trying to prevent Dustin from saying something (evident by the hand clamping over the younger boy’s mouth). Mike stood there with his hands cupping his mouth (apparently he had been the one to call your name) and the boy you didn’t recognize clapped his hand on Mike’s back, in… congratulations? You didn’t really know what to do as the scene unfolded in front of you, and you were about to ignore it, turn back around, and leave, but the only other person you didn’t recognize in the group gave you a shy smile and beckoned you over with a simple hand gesture.
Raising an eyebrow, you decided to listen to her, going against your own gut, which happened to be telling you to run far away, and walked over to meet the group.
“Is everything alright over here?” you asked casually, trying to hide the blush rising to your face from the intense gaze from pretty much everyone there, mostly Steve’s though.
You watched as the oldest one in the group looked from you to Mike to Dustin for a few seconds before frantically pulling his hand from the last one’s mouth and attempting to stand in a cool/casual pose. Obviously it wasn’t that cool or casual to anybody else, but you didn’t really care, you were still looking around the group confused, not even noticing the remaining people on the basketball court staring at the odd interactions.
“Hey-uh-hey,” Steve finally spoke up, “um, yeah, yeah, everything’s great! There’s no problem. What? Who said anything about a problem? Yeah no everything's fine, chill. What-what are you doing here?”
“Well, I was just heading out until your…” you hesitated for a moment, glancing at Mike and the girl you still couldn’t place and attempting to choose the correct word, “friend..s…” you paused again, “called me over?”
“Oh! Uh, yeah.. That’s interesting. Yeah, um that’s so weird,” he commented with a forced chuckle punctuating the statement, “I-I didn’t realize you knew them.”
“I don’t!” you stated quickly, recoiling back when you realized how aggressive you sounded. “I mean like… Not really. I just met them… during half time.”
“Oh, well, cool, I guess.”
“Yeah, I’m-uh-I’m gonna go. Gotta head home, parents ya know- ha ha,” you said before turning around quickly and starting to walk away, cringing inwardly to yourself at how awkward you are when talking to Steve.
“Wait!” you heard, this time the shout coming from Steve and not one of his middle schooler friends. In fact, his friends were now not surrounding him, but instead standing along a side wall as if they were waiting for him.
“Yes?”
“Would you, shit, would you maybe wanna like… Hang out sometime?”
“I-yeah. Yeah! Of course. That sounds-that sounds great,” you admitted, eyes still downcast as you reached to tuck a nonexistent stray hair behind your ear.
“Cool! Rad! Yeah, I’ll-yeah. Um see you later then.”
“Bye Steve,” you said finally before turning around and walking away, letting the smile you had been suppressing take over your face.
As you walked away you heard the footsteps of the six kids returning to Steve’s side, one of them saying something along the lines of “damn Steve, I don’t know why I ever asked for dating advice from you! You suck at this! I thought you were supposed to be good with girls, especially, like, cheerleaders!”
He chuckled before he gave his brief response of, “She said yes, didn’t she? Now let’s get you shitheads home.”

5_ the idea of thinking that in order to be successful in music you must get the approval from the west (specifically the us and europe): against or in favor of? (I’m not even talking kpop wise it’s just there’s a south american singer who has been on the business for YEARS yet just now she got some recognition due that she was nominated to a grammy or sth like ??????)
honestly, depending on your definition of success. i think as long as you have a fanbase, no matter how small, the support you receive still means your successful, even if not approved by majority, as long as others still enjoy it.
6_ would you open your own store? If so, what would you sell?
i would if i had the money, and i would prob sell kpop stuff honestly.
7_ food you just cannot eat
hmm. i love all food LOL i cant eat the same food multiple times in a row though. it gets old for me.
8_ pre 2000 music or past 2000 music? (Pre 2000, I can almost count with my fingers how many artists from this millennium I like, legit)
def past. i’ve really only listened to past 2000.
9_ you have the opportunity to create your own Just Dance kpop song list, which songs (based on the choreo) would you add? (No need to create the whole list but like, which songs must be on the game?)
oooo you got some good questionss LOL uhh ooo that’s tough lets see. sorry sorry by super junior gotta be on it, a classic. gee by girls generation, also a classic. infinite’s be mine. seventeen’s mansae. shinee’s ring dong. all classics.
10_  if you were offered the chance to live the life of a kpop star during their comeback for two weeks (week prior the cb and the week after, with rehearsals, going to interviews, music shows, variety programs [obvi you wouldn’t participate on them but you must go with the rest wherever they go] etc) and all that jazz…would you go through the experience?
uh HELL YEAH. who wouldn’t i mean. that is the dream.
11_ you can create your own 'best of’ album with your 15 favorite kpop songs, which songs would you add on it?
dang my dude i cant. just 15??? oh no. let me see.
in no particular order of favs:
seventeen’s: dont wanna cry, simple, laughter, dont listen in secret, woozi’s version of downpour
infinite’s: man in love, cant get over you,
