Fan Stories
“We got a coach from my home town (about 2 hours from memory) and drank an ocean of lager on the way, by the time we got there we needed the toilet so badly we could have exploded! We got into the stadium and waited for the first band of the day. Soon enough a not very well known (to me) American band came on called Heart. They weren't bad but did nothing for me. Then came The Teardrop Explodes who tried and who I reckoned did quite well despite the flying bottles of liquid being hurled at them from the crowd. After them was Joan Jett complete with Blackhearts who got the crowd going with "I Love Rock'n'Roll" mainly because Brian appeared at the side of the stage with his daughter to have a look. Eventually after a long wait the stage lights dimmed and a strange cranking sound started up and then you were suddenly aware of the drum beat to Flash thumping out and spotlights chasing around the stadium. This went on for a minute or so and the excitement was unbearable. All of a sudden in an explosion of smoke, lights, guitars, drums... Brian, John and Roger are there blasting out the opening part of The Hero. Seconds later in a gleaming white leather jacket out runs Freddie and it begins... A moment I will never forget along with many others from Queen shows since and before it. I can't say which show was my favourite as I loved them all but that moment WAS Queen, the sheer power, the anticipation, the fantastic musical ability and above all else the way they gave people what they crave more than anything... wonderful memories.” - whiteman
“29th May 1982 - a really nice warm day. We only lived a few miles away so walked down to Elland Road - I can't believe it - Queen live in my home town at the home of the greatest football team in the country (well maybe not now!). Got to the ground early and were allowed in by security, such a relaxed atmosphere. Saw band's soundcheck - great! So hot sun, never went behind stadium roofs. Got best suntan I have ever had! Heard Teardrop Explodes - not bad. Then you are aware of the beat of flash thumping out around the stadium, the smoke rises and bang - they are on! The greatest gig I have ever seen from the greatest live band in history. God bless you, Brian, Roger and John. Rest in peace, Freddie - we will never forget.” - Michael Quine
“This was my second ever gig, the first being Rory Gallagher the year before (I am sure I once read that Rory was one of Brian May's favourite guitarists). Anyway, being only 14 and not yet in the habit of getting off my face at gigs,I can remember that day very clearly. I am convinced I saw someone throw a hamburger at Julian Cope (Teardrop Explodes were going down like a lead balloon), and just as Julian was opening his gob to sing, he CAUGHT IT IN HIS MOUTH. A huge cheer went up, then they stomped off. Somebody, possibly Queen's manager, came on and told everbody to behave. I also remember a fan getting on stage and Freddie expertly rolling him off the stage. I didnt like the Hot Space album much but was chuffed they were still a hard rock band. I bought the next edition of Kerrang mag and the write up of the gig said STUNNING. Great memory.” - Edwin
“I was 15 years old in 1982 when I attended my first ever concert. Fortunately for me, it was QUEEN's show at Leeds AFC ground in the North of England. I remember when my ticket arrived in the post, possibly 2-3 months before the concert, as was often the case in those days. I stuck my ticket on a cork notice board in my bedroom and could barely contain my excitement over the coming weeks. Every morning, I would wake up and look at the yellow ticket, wishing the days away. I imagined everything that could go wrong would. Queen would cancel the gig, I would break my leg, the family pet would die on the morning of the concert and it would be too insensitive of me to go, the transport wouldn't turn up or would break down, there would be a pile up on the motorway, I'd lose my ticket en route, etc, etc. As it turned out, May 29th 1982 was a hot and sunny day, perfect weather for an outdoor gig. I was CRAZY about Queen and had been since the age of 9 but I really didn't know what to expect on that day. Myself and three friends took a coach organised by my Dad's company from Lancashire across the M62 motorway to Leeds. Our excitement began to really take a hold when we arrived at the football ground and we followed the droves of people towards the turnstiles. To me, this was something on a really big scale and I could already hear the hum of the crowd inside. Not really believing that we were actually about to witness a Queen concert, we found our seats on the West Stand, offering a great view of the stage. I remember marvelling at Queen's new lighting rig and the equipment that adorned the stage, shining in the afternoon sunshine. The ground was almost full at this point and the pitch was heaving with people. The atmosphere was relaxed as people bathed in the sunshine. I remember two guys climbing the fence from the stand and attempting to get a better spot by running into the crowd and losing themselves on the pitch. Their efforts were in vain however as they were quickly located and ejected back into the stand by two security guards. We bought some black Hot Space tour shirts (I wore mine with pride until it literally fell apart) and a programme from a vendor inside the ground and waited for the first band to take the stage. A guy near us shouted and punched his way through Heart's set and then left just as they vacated the stage. Obviously not a Queen fan! The Teardrop Explodes suffered at the hands of the Queen congregation and found themselves battling against a shower of bottles and assorted missiles. Other than that, I don't really remember much about the support bands. I think that Bow Wow Wow were billed to play (an odd choice) but I can't recall if they actually turned up. No matter, we were about to witness what is still one of the best gigs I have ever attended.
As the dusk descended upon us, the giant floodlights were extinguished one by one and the memory of the roar that followed still sends shivers down my spine. Dry ice drifted across the heads of the crowd on the pitch as the intro tape of Flash thumped out of the PA and the strange 'grating' noises added to the recording created a foreboding atmosphere. Two of our party were on the pitch and to this day remember their chests thumping in unison to the powerful rhythm. A sea of hands clapped in perfect time to the beat. To me, this was already an amazing experience. And then the big moment. Freddie, resplendent in dazzling white made his entrance to The Hero and the blaze of the lights. An apt number to start with. Before he had even sung a note, the audience were locked tightly in the palm of his hand. Such an entrance, such a showman. "You're a F***in amazing crowd", he exclaimed after the first rush. The beginning of the gig is, in truth, my strongest memory of the show itself. In particular, the "Flash!!!" vocals cutting through the night air with so much volume. I recall being shocked at the sheer power of Queen's performance and the clarity of the huge sound they harnessed. Morgan Fisher's keyboards during 'Action This Day' sounded bright and hypnotic. Freddie's intro to Fat Bottomed Girls caused quite a response too; "the bigger the t*t the better it is!". I also remember the follow spots darting wildly over the crowd during 'Tie Your Mother Down' and everybody going crazy. Oddly enough (and this is something I still swear by to this day), I was in a Maths lesson at school the following Monday and I swear I had a flashback of this and could actually 'hear' the music being re-played in my head. It was a weird moment and life was never quite the same again. We talked endlessly about our experience for months to come and one of my biggest regrets is not jumping on a train to attend the filmed Milton Keynes show a week later. Having been to so many gigs since, I can honestly say that there is nobody who has been able to top Queen live; I was lucky enough to see the band five times between 1982 and 1986, including Wembley Stadium and their last show at Knebworth. I think that my personal favourite was their performance at the NEC in Birmingham on 'The Works' tour in 1984. People were literally stood there with open mouths, unable to believe how good they were. Leeds is definitely up there too. I recall Brian May stating that he thought it was one of their best performances ever. I can't argue with that Mr May. I've often wondered if an audience shot cine film or even just photographs exist from the Leeds gig. It would be a dream come true to see my memories come to life again.” - Keith Lambert
“I can't believe it was 30 years ago that I attended my first ever gig at Elland Rd Leeds in 1982. I was 17 years old at the time, I was into Queen when I first heard seven seas of rhye, which was so different to all the other stuff around at the time. I'd heard them live on tv, and had Live Killers. Also I used to buy bootleg cassettes of all of their tours from 74 onwards. But nothing could prepare me for that day. They should have played this gig at Old Trafford Manchester, my home town, so I was gutted when the residents opposed it. Tickets were very easy to come by, believe it or not, cos Queen were not seen as a relevant band at that time. Also touring the Hot Space album didn't seem to excite anybody. So, Billy no mates had to go on his own, haha. My memory is a bit hazy, but I will try my best. I got to the ground about 1pm, and was lucky enough to have a pitch ticket. I got right to the front, well about 10 yards from the stage, slightly off centre and to the right. If I told you I never moved from that spot all day and never spoke to anyone, would you believe me? One of the reasons for this is the rivalry between Manchester and Leeds, also I was only a kid, haha. Not sure who was first on, probably Teardrop Explodes, Julian Cope, I remember while they were throwing bottles at him, picked one up and started hitting himself with it and stretching his arms out saying he was an Argentinian bomber or something. It was during the Falklands war, remember. Then Heart came on, not really my cup of tea, and I had a lie down on the tarpaulin and tried to go to sleep. Then Joan Jett, who was better than the rest, but not really exciting. During the band changes, I remember the roadies polishing Roger's drum kit and climbing up ropes and those threepronged lights, which before I saw them move I thought they were cameras. Queen took ages to come on. From my recollection and I might be wrong, they didn't come on until 10pm and went off around Midnight. I heard later that they got fined so much per minute for being late on stage but they wanted to wait until it was dark for the lighting rig to take effect. If you watch the Bowl DVD you will notice it was light when they came on stage there. But that was being filmed by Channel 4. But it was absolutely pitch black when they came on stage at Leeds. Then the floodlights went off, smoke started to appear and strange noises started, which I can't describe, sorry. Then Flash's Theme started, it was loud, very, very loud. I knew they were supposed to be loud and this was the part that scared me. The ground was thumping, the bass just pumping away. The these 'cameras' flicked into life, with men on them. The intro seemed to last for a very long time. Then BANG Brian appears with the first chord of The Hero and a flash of the biggest white light I've ever seen and will never forget and the absolute loudest noise I have ever heard just hit me. The intro was quite in comparrision to this. When I play Live at the Bowl, I tend to repeat the intro and The Hero, virtually every time, because it was definitely a life changing experience for me at that moment, just incredible. Then Freddie appeared in brilliant white again, I was that close, I swear His hair seemed blue because of the mass of white lights. His voice, so loud, so clear, honestly, I can't describe that moment properly. I heard Freddie swear, saw Roger spitting, quite a lot, over his drum kit and onto the stage, I was bewildered.
When they did Play The Game and also Somebody To Love, when Freddie was doing the intros for them and it will sound strange to those that weren't there, but I didn't know what the songs were. I thought they was new unreleased songs. The reason was they was so loud, It kind of deafened you and then kind of sunk in what they were about to play. Then the rest of the gig flew by and I was singing my head off. Everyone was, but you could only hear Queen. Again my memory may be wrong, but I read afterwards that Queen had paid for residents to move out of their homes for the day. These houses were monitored and they said that the sound was like Concorde flying 10 feet over your head... Yep I will buy that. For all that and for all the bad things said about it, The Works tour, which I went to all the 4 origional England gigs they had planned, was the best tour they ever did. The set list was fantastic and the lighting rig was incredible. Not as loud, I also add. I also saw them in Manchester, 86. They had to be off stage by 10pm and noise levels had to be adhered to. I was too far awy to see them and the screens didn't come on because it was too light. Also I couldn't here them properly. I've watched the mMagic Tour gigs on DVD etc, but for me, that was the poorest tour they ever did. So that's it, hopefully some of you can confirm my bad memory, or say I'm wrong. Hopefully not bored you all. But it was the greatest musical experience I ever witnessed and I am proud I was there.” - Paul Wakefield

How do you choose quotes to make edits for (like do you have a list that you choose from or is it whenever you see something good) and how do you choose which characters/scenes etc to gif to go with them - like for example the last set you did with the ‘carry you with me’ quote. How did you choose which scenes to use and pair together with the quote (sorry if you’ve answered something similar before)
I’ve done some live edits in the past to kind of show my process with making very specific edits
(Link, Link, Link, Link, Link, Link)
But those are like, specific to each edit, so I’ll also give a general answer. I’m putting it below a “Keep Reading” because it’s a very long answer :)
How do you choose quotes to make edits for?
My other fandom page, @Rhysand-vs-Fenrys , has endured weekly reminders to watch The Untamed for like... 8-9 months now (Friday at 9am, usually an aesthetic GIFset I reblog from someone and add links to the bottom to the different platforms to view it on).
To be fair to them, I decided most of my edits would be done with quotes from the Rhysand-vs-Fenrys fandom (Sarah J Maas book series). Some quotes are very famous within that fandom and came to mind immediately, and I went through the Goodreads quotes lists for it.
As for other quotes, some I knew off the top of my head (the Carmina Burana, Aeneid, and LOTR ones) and some I just did a general google search for quotes with different themes like power or fate or love and saved the ones that kind of sparked my interest.
As I feel like doing an edit I’ll just look through the list until something snags on my eye and go with that. Most quotes gave me immediate ideas and I saved a little bulleted point beneath it saying what I thought of when I read it.
How do you choose which characters/scenes etc to gif to go with them?
I have some rules for what I look at for edits:
1. Once I have the quote divided into how many GIFs I’d like it to be, the first line of text is the theme and the last line of text is the tone. This is explained further lower down
2. First GIF has to be the star of the quote or, if it’s a group one, a high profile character.
3. NO LITERAL GIFS. Know if something is literal, I hate it and I only used it because I had no other choice. For example, in the “carry you with me” edit there is one that is “Walking in the light”. Originally it just worked out that the GIF of Wangji walking would have fallen there, with Jiang Cheng and Wangji as “the words that dance between people” and the final GIF in the edit (’Remembering being alive together’) being the teahouse. I rearranged and redesigned the entire edit just so Lan Wangji would not be walking in a GIF that had the word “walking”.
There are a few others, but those are more nit-picky. Those three above are the main ones, and they apply to every GIFset.
I’ll make my example the “Carry You” GIFset you referenced, which feeds into your final question---
...the last set you did with the ‘carry you with me’ quote. How did you choose which scenes to use and pair together with the quote (sorry if you’ve answered something similar before)
First off, here is the “Carry You” edit for anyone who wants to look at the thing I’m talking about
I almost didn’t even consider this quote because I immediately knew it’d be about Wuxian and Wangji, and that I would want to exclusively rely on the period where Wangji thought Wuxian was dead, which equates to A VERY NARROW SELECTION OF SCENES AND SHOTS OMG.
--- Wangji looking at the sky
--- Mo Manor
--- On Dafan Mountain
--- Tea with Jiang Cheng
--- Flashback to Burial Mounds burning
--- Flashback to saving A-Yuan
--- Flashback to being whipped
--- Flashback to Cold Pond Cave
That was enough to populate a 6 GIF edit if I really picked at the bones, so next I look at the first line of the quote: “I carry you with me into the world”. That became the theme of the entire edit. The final line is the tone- “Remembering being alive together”.
So every single GIF from the first to the last and anything in between had to have a direct line to ‘Remembering being alive together’ and an overall feeling of wangji ‘carrying (wuxian) with me into the world’. So what does that mean? Living your life in the spirit of that person. Chosing actions to honor their memory, either in behaving as they would or changing something bout yourself that was in conflict to them.
The original plan for that edit was as follows (these are direct quotes from my edit plan written in my shorthand):
“I carry you with me into the world”  ➜  Ep 1 looking at sky (no Wuxian scene selected)
“Into the smell of rain”  ➜  whipped alone, w/wuxian
“and the words that dance between people”  ➜  Ep 2, JC in woods (no Wuxian scene selected)
“and for me, it will always be this way”  ➜  Ep 1, holding sword, wuxian burning (my shorthand for when he gets smokey)
“walking in the light”  ➜  Ep 1 with ducklings, in burial mounds with A-Yuan
“remembering being alive together”  ➜  Ep 2 tea w/Yiling meal
I was just going to throw those shots side-by-side, but then I thought about how cool it would look if I could actually put Wuxian across the table from Wangji in that last one. I was still in the planning phase, which is why I never came up with a Wuxian for the first 2 GIFs.
At that point I started thinking about how it would fit the tone and theme so much better if I could make all of them that way. So at this point I abandoned the written plan and as I kind of thought about and processed what i wanted to do, I went through Episodes 1, 2, 44 & 46 and grabbed Wangji’s shots alone.
I decided- no reason just felt like it- that I wanted to step into this edit, rather than begin it already in process. I tried making a few GIFs of Wangxian for that “I carry you with me into the world” and just didn’t like them. I really wanted it to shine through that this was a theme and not tie it to specific scenes. Then I saw that slow pan of Bichen’s hilt that you see in episode 1 and was like “I bet I can find a Chenqing from the right angle to match that...”
**at this point I should say my rule for this edit was that every single shot of Wuxian had to be a scene Wangji was also in.
I decided to break that rule for the first edit, because Wuxian never holds Chenqing up against Wangji at the right fucking angle unless it’s pitch black in a thunderstorm and the tassel isn’t red in that shot so what’s even the point. So that shot is from Wuxian raising it against YANLI in Episode 21(?), rotated, horizontal flipped, cropped, spotlight on the tassel, selective color enhance, and a motion tracking filter just to smooth it out.
Once I decide on the GIF itself, I look through the effects editor just to kind of throw everything at it and see what helps me achieve my mental picture, so it was a lot of dicking around to see if that would even work.
After that, focus went to *Wangji*. Pick WANGJI’s shot, and then look for a Wuxian moment from the right angle to match Wangji and ghost into the shot (which was hard as all FUCK. That last shot of Wuxian with the alcohol was a last ditch attempt to find a shot). As I said, I rearranged three GIFs just so I wouldn’t have Wangji walking during a GIF with the word “walking” in it.
This edit was easier than others in that the first and last lines- “I carry you with me into the world/ remembering being alive together”- are really the only thing you need. Every line contributes directly to that theme, so the GIFs themselves are pretty interchangeable.
I wanted JC there for “The words that dance between people”, which is why Wuxian has such attitude in that GIF- like he’s reacting to nasty words being exchanged (I decided it still worked in its new home of “walking in the light”). I decided I *loved* “the words that dance between people” being Wangji sitting alone at the table, not speaking at all. It has a sense of longing and regret that really suits the overall themes and tones.
I hope that made sense and answered your question? Sorry it was a long response, I wasn’t sure how much you were interested in hearing. But yeah, I do my edits live if I’m pretty confident in the game plan, so if you keep an eye on the page I’ll try to be better about scheduling those and not making them last minute.
I chose not to do this one live because I knew it was going to be really complicated and I wasn’t confident in the scenes. When I’m doing it live I feel pressured to make decisions very quickly so people aren’t bored and in the past have made GIFs I am not happy with just because I felt bad about waffling on shots. I wanted this one to really fit what I was imagining and to do that I had to be able to be indecisive.

Prythian Magazine Part 17
A/N: There really is no plot in this. It’s literally a chapter of fluff.
PM Masterlist  My Writing
“I’m so glad you three could make it!” Tarquin called, Varian following closely behind.
“Thank you for inviting us, Tarquin. Your new line is beautiful!” Feyre said.
She had briefly met Tarquin and Varian before the show, and immediately liked them, Tarquin especially. He was a very sweet, kind man. Tarquin had an aura of comfort and ease surrounding him that attracted Feyre to him. Not romantically, though, because she couldn’t move on so soon after leaving Tamlin, even if he was an abusive bastard. It was why she refused to acknowledge Rhys and what she felt towards him.
“Yes, it was very generous of you.” Rhys agreed.
Feyre felt awkward being around Rhys because she kept thinking back to when he asked her to come in person. One look at how tired and wrecked he was made her want to hug him tightly, and comfort him until all his worries went away. Instead, she was cold to him, refusing to say anything other than her agreement to go to Adriata.
Tarquin waved away their thanks. “Don’t mention it. I’ve been wanting to meet you, Rhysand, for a while now to discuss ways to improve relations between our two courts. And you, Feyre, have been making headlines. I do sincerely hope you will be able to lock away Tamlin for a long while.”
“You believe me?” Feyre was shocked. More people believed Tamlin because of how long he has been in the spotlight. To them, Feyre was no one.
“Of course. I had unfortunate luck of meeting Mr. Springsteen once. It was absolutely dreadful. I have also met Lucien, the poor man. I have no doubt the two of you are telling the truth.” Tarquin explained. “But I didn’t invite you here to talk about that. During your stay, I wish for you to be comfortable.”
“Thank you, Tarquin.” Feyre managed to say, struck by Tarquin’s position in all this.
“Your welcome. All of you will of course be staying with me, of course. No guest of mine will be staying in some hotel. Now come! Unless of course any of you would prefer to stay for the after party. I for one am in no mood, but I can make sure someone will stay with you until you wish to leave.” Tarquin glanced at Varian and Amren, who were talking in hushed tones to each other. “And I’m sure my dear cousin would like to be alone with Amren.” His tone had a suggestive note to it, earning him a glare from Varian.
Feyre immediately agreed. As did Rhys and Amren. She was struck by the beauty of Tarquin’s mansion - really, it was the only fitting term. It was situated near the coast, which She was sure resulted in gorgeous views from the balcony. His home was old-fashioned looking, a nice contrast from all the neighboring modern houses. Fountains lead up to the intricate iron door.
The inside was even more grand. Paintings and pictures hung everywhere, but not in a way that made everything seem crowded. Every piece of furnishing was placed with care. The dark sapphire blue walls was a color Feyre was determined to remember for if - no, when - she would paint again.
“You should take design tips from Tarquin.” She murmured to Rhys, the first words Feyre voluntarily said to him since his confession.
He let out a chuckle. “Do you not like how my townhouse looks?”
She did. The first time she saw it was when Az had told everyone the plan to bring here back to Tamlin. Feyre instantly fell in love with the decor purely because everything about it screamed Rhysand.
“It could use some improvement.” She teased.
“Ah, well, seeing as I’m the only one currently living there, I’ll decline. However, if someone were to move in who shared the same sentiments as you, Darling… I may be persuaded reconsider.”
“Prick.” Feyre muttered, her cheeks heating; there was no doubt in her mind that the “someone” Rhys was referring to was none other than herself.
“Up the stairs to your left will be your room, Feyre. Rhysand, yours is the one next to hers. And Amren… I’m going to assume you’ll be with Varian?” Tarquin said, a raised eyebrow thrown in her direction.
“You assume correctly.” Amren replied, her smile nothing short of wicked, before dragging Varian up the stairs.
“I have to attend to some work, but I’ll have someone bring up your bags. Good night, Feyre. Rhysand.”
Rhys smiled at Tarquin. “Please, Tarquin, call me Rhys.”
“Very well. Good night, Rhys.” Tarquin said before walking away.
Rhys and Feyre walked up the stairs in silence, and for the first time in weeks, it was a comfortable silence. When they got to Feyre’s door, Rhys turned to her.
“Good night, Darling. Sleep well.” Feyre snorted to herself. As if she would be able to sleep through the night. Rhys leaned in a little, but stopped short. Feyre knew what Rhys was going to do. She also knew that he wouldn’t kiss her forehead because of how she acted around him.
Instead, Feyre leaned up to kiss Rhys’s cheek. Rhys stilled, his eyes closing to savor the feel of her lips against his skin. “Good night, Rhys.” She whispered, pulling back.
“Feyre darling…” Rhys started to say, but she shook her head. Not now.
Feyre stepped into her room, leaving Rhys in the hallway, wondering what spurred her action. To be honest, Feyre didn’t know why she kissed his cheek either.
Feyre fell asleep that night with her lips tingling from the touch of Rhys’s warm, golden skin.
Mor was curious as to what Andromache had planned. The entire Saturday she kept asking Andi what she was talking about on the phone, but all Mor got in return were vague answers.
It was Andromache’s evasiveness that prompted Mor to wear a sinfully tight red dress for their date. The spaghetti strap dress was full length, outlining every curve. The neckline plunged to show a borderline scandalous amount of cleavage, and the back… well, it simply wasn’t there. A slit in the dress ran up to her thigh. Mor finished the look with black heels, lots of golden bangles, carefully styled hair, and smokey eyes with wine red lips. Underneath was a little something Mor picked up from Victoria’s Secret. Judging by the way Andi kept looking at Mor, her plan was working.
Andromache looked equally stunning. She wore a white dress that went down to her knees. It had lace sleeve and was a loose fit. Her beautiful brown hair was put in a messy bun that enhanced the look. She wore dangly silver earrings and a simple charm bracelet gifted to her by Mor when they celebrated her birthday together for the first time to accompany the outfit. She didn’t wear any makeup, but Andromache didn’t need it; she was a natural beauty. Andi also had a white clutch she kept fiddling with.
The whole evening was spent with the two talking about anything and everything and laughter. After splitting the bill, Andi and a Mor went for a walk. Andromache led Mor through an empty park, the moonlight shining down on them.
“Mor,” Andi said, pausing on a bridge going over a small river. “I have something to ask you.”
“Is this what you’re going to ask me what you were talking about over the phone?” Mor asked, excited to finally know what Andi was hiding.
“It is.”
“Well? What is it?”
Andromache took a deep breath and opened her clutch. She pulled out a small black box. A jewelry box. One that could easily fit a ring.
Andromache got down on one knee.
“Andi…” Mor breathed.
“Shhh. Just...let me speak. Please.” All Mor could manage was a nod.
“Morrigan Zohar. Since the day I saw you, five years ago, I felt drawn to you. As if we were meant to find one another. I remember thinking how beautiful, smart, kind, and charming you were that day. I still think of you as that and more. When I asked you out… Cauldron I was nervous.” Andromache chuckled. “I never thought you would go out with me, but you did. I have loved you since our first date and everyday since. I know you are the only person I ever want to spend my life with. Will you marry me, Morrigan?”
Mor was speechless. She always knew that she favored women over men, but never imagined being lucky enough find a female she wanted to spend her life with. That is, until she met Andromache.
“Yes, Andi! Yes, I’ll marry you!” Morrigan cried. Andromache slipped the simple diamond ring on her finger and stood up to embrace her fiancée.
Under the moonlight, Morrigan and Andromache hugged and kissed and whispered sweet nothings to each other.
“I love you.” Cassian whispered into Lucien’s ear.
“Cassian, this is the fifth time you told me that in the past minute.” Lucien said warmly. “...I love you too.”
“I know. I just like saying it to you.”
“You’re insufferable.”
Cassian gasped. “Rude!”
Lucien laughed - he was doing more of that lately.
“Tell me more. What did you and Andras like to do together?” Cassian asked.
Cassian insisted on Lucien telling him everything about his and Andras’s relationship. He said it might help him, and it did. Lucien didn’t feel as weighed down by his previous boyfriend’s death as he had before. Of course he still missed him, but the nightmares and pain wasn’t as bad.
“He would always take me on picnics.” Lucien smiled fondly, recalling memories from another time. “It was something he did with his family growing up, so he insisted we do it too. At first I wasn’t sure, but I enjoyed myself. Whenever we had free time, that’s what we would do.”
“Is that something you want to do as well?” Cassian inquired, rubbing soothing circles into the back of Lucien’s hands.
“I’m not sure if I could do it now. Maybe one day.”
The two fell into a companionable silence.
“When Feyre started hanging out with us, she dragged us to various art museums.” Lucien huffed a chuckle. “She would always leave us to browse the displays.”
“That sounds like Feyre!” Cassian remarked.
“Once, Andras and I were in this garden. It had statues everywhere. I turned around and came face-to-face with a scary gargoyle one. I screamed and jumped back, but ended up tripping and falling into a fountain behind me.” Lucien’s cheeks burned when Cassian roared in laughter. “I may have a picture Andras sent me somewhere.”
“Now that I have to see!” Cassian managed to say.
“Only if you’re a good boy.” Lucien purred.
“Mmmm.” Cassian hummed. “Good thing I’m always good.” At that, Lucien snorted.
“I am!” He exclaimed.
“Sure you are, Cass.”
“You are so mean to me!” Cassian said jokingly.
Lucien rolled over on his bed to face Cassian. He placed a soft kiss on his lips.
“Am I forgiven?”
“Y’know, I think I need more apologies.”
Lucien leaned back over to kiss him. Slowly, the kiss turned deeper. His tongue swept into Cassian’s mouth, exploring every inch - not that he needed much exploring.
Cassian flipped them over so he was on top. Lucien arched his back as Cassian ripped his mouth away to place small, wet kisses along his neck. A moan escaped Lucien’s mouth when Cassian sucked on the spot where his neck met his shoulder.
“Cass…” Lucien breathed. Cassian growled in approval.
Lucien flipped them over so he was now in control. He licked up the column of Cassian’s throat to meet his lips in a sloppy kiss, all teeth and tongue.
The ping of an incoming text broke them apart.
“You should probably get that.” Cassian said in between kisses when Lucien ignored the onslaught of notifications he was getting in favor of feeling his boyfriend’s skin up beneath his lips.
“Fine.” Lucien said with irritation at being interrupted.
Feyre: I need your help!
Feyre: I kissed Rhys on the cheek, but now I don’t know what to do!
Feyre: It wasn’t a friendly kiss, but it wasn’t one shared between a couple either.
Feyre: What do I do now??
Feyre: How should I act around Rhys???
Feyre: Are you busy?
Feyre: Are you making out with Cass?
And there were more texts along the same lines.
Lucien: why would you think that?
Feyre: The last time I called you, that’s what you were doing. Were you?
Lucien: Yes.
Feyre: How was it!
Lucien: Fey! Really!
Feyre: Sorry. Can you help me? What do I do?
Lucien: You guys need to talk about this. Clearly you have feelings for Rhys. Just tell him!
Feyre: I don’t love Rhys!
Lucien: I never said you loved him. I said you had feelings for him. That’s different. And because you said love means you do.
Feyre: …shit….you’re right
Lucien: Obviously!
Feyre: What do I do?
Lucien: Tell him!!
Lucien: Now stop bugging me.
Feyre: Fine. I’m going to call you later!
“Well, I’m glad Feyre’s finally going to tell him.” Cassian said.
Lucien helped in surprise. “Cassian! Don’t read my messages over my shoulder!”
“Why not?”
“What if they were private?”
“I would’ve stopped reading them when I realized they were private!” Cassian was quiet for a moment. “Are you alright?”
Lucien cocked his head in question. “Of course. Why?”
“We never went that far with our kissing. I just wanted to make sure it was alright with you. I’m sorry if I took it too far.”
Lucien’s heart swelled with love for how considerate Cassian was being. “Yeah, I’m fine.” And he was.
“Good.” Cassian smiled and held Lucien closer to him.
“We should probably do something productive. It’s only the morning.” Lucien said.
“Like what?”
“Want to watch a movie?”
“Sure. You can pick.” Cassian said.
“The original Jumanji movie.”
“I’ll get it set up.” Cassian said, leaving Lucien with a soft kiss on his cheek.
“Make popcorn!” Lucien called after him.
“Got it!”
