I may have already rambled about this, but at some point in my career, I took "yes and" from the improv world and applied to to all professional settings and it's honestly one of the greatest tools for me, of all time.
Someone making an unreasonable request for my time/attention but I gotta play nice? ie, "Hey can you pull thing XYZ together for me today?"
"Yes and I'm going to need until next Friday to complete it w/ everything else on my plate. Thanks for your patience!"
Someone super enthusiastic about an idea w/ a kernel of goodness among a sea of shit?
"Yes, that's a great idea, and I think to make it really work, we need to change..."
In fact, if I'm being real REAL, I use "yes and" here all the time, too, to add stuff that I think is VERY important on a give topic but is missing from a post that otherwise has a good take. Like there's no need to be like, "UGH YOU FORGOT" when instead I can say something like, "Yes, this is awesome, AND I want to add..."
People all have very different communication styles in professional settings and I'm someone who is fairly conflict adverse. I will typically err on the side of harmony, trying to cultivate positive rapport and good team rhythm, w/ anyone else who is also acting in good faith. I haaaate overtly negative conflict, arguing, etc. and frankly it triggers me. Of course sometimes I have to steel my spine for hard convos and I would never avoid productive/healthy conflict.
When there's no need for overt conflict but a gentle redirect will help, "yes and" is a hell of a tool.

my partner and I both love doing bits but are also both extremely neurodivergent so don't always realise that the other person is not being serious so we've developed a system so no one gets offended when we randomly start fake arguments (we almost never argue seriously)
the person starting the bit will call ACTION (it has to be loudly like a director would) to let the other person know and as soon as someone starts to feel uncomfortable or wants to be serious again they can call CUT
in between those calls we just yes-and each other for as long as we can like we're an improv duo
10/10 would recommend to all my fellow neurodivergent folks

Bigger! With Izzy and Brennan (and Erika and Aabria and Siobhan and Zac, shhhh) was so much fun! Such a delightful improv show, and now it's Dimension 20 Live time??? Sometimes I'm happy to live in a society yknow
[ID: The first picture has Aabria telling a story on stage. Behind her is Erika, gesticulating wildly while Siobhan, Izzy, Zac and Brennan stare at them.
The second video is Aabria, Erika, Izzy, Brennan, Siobhan and Zac bowing together at the end of the show.
The third picture is of Brennan, Siobhan and Zac sitting down mimicking being in a casino, while Izzy watches standing up.
The fourth picture shows Brennan, Izzy, Zac and Siobhan sitting down and touching hands.
The fifth shows Aabria and Siobhan holding hands and smiling.
The sixth picture is of Brennan sitting cross-legged on the floor with a chair on him, while another chair is on the floor in the background. End ID]

They have said a few times that the Live Shows are being recorded for release on Dropout. Along with a number of improv shows with various dropout cast members which they recently filmed.
A feast is being prepared for us if we can just be patient.

Funny story from when I went to see a beetlejuice the musical production last August with my girlfriend at the time
It was a REALLY GOOD FUCKING PERFORMANCE and the show was wrapping up, Y’know. It was in the middle of one of the scenes after beetlejuice rides in on the soul worm in his cute little cowboy outfit, and right after beetlejuice started saying his goodbyes, someone in the audience yelled down “CAN WE GET A YEE HAW?”
The everyone on stage froze and the audience lost it. Beetlejuice looked at the audience and was like “…a Yee haw??”
Then everyone started cheering and telling him to do it, so, being the theatre kid that he is, beetlejuice walks down center, poses with Juno’s leg like a rich man would with a cane and shouts “YEE HAW!”
The audience loses it again and starts applauding.
Then later as beetlejuice is taking his leave through the door to the netherworld, he looks back at the audience and goes “AND YEE FUCKING HAW!” Then leaves.
10/10 theatre experience

Q: I was wondering if there were any specific moments of improv that either you did or that another actor did that you thought was really cool in the process of the show.
