Cardano (ADA): Sell it for Solana?

Cardano (ADA): Sell it for Solana?
Cardano (ADA): Sell it for Solana?
Cardano (ADA), the brainchild of Ethereum co-founder Charles Hoskinson, has been a hot topic in the crypto space. However, with a recent barrage of bearish news and influencer skepticism, some are questioning whether ADA is all it’s cracked up to be. Let’s delve into the world of Cardano, separating hype from reality.
Influencer FOMO and the Solana Shadow:
Social media is flooded with “Cardano killers” like Solana (SOL) boasting lightning-fast transaction speeds and lower fees. Influencers, often swayed by short-term gains, are hyping SOL to the moon, leaving Cardano seemingly stuck in the dust.
Cardano’s Different Path:
However, Cardano takes a much different approach than the “move fast and break things” mentality of some competitors. Cardano prioritizes meticulous research and a peer-reviewed development process. This methodical approach, while slower, aims to deliver a more secure and scalable blockchain in the long run.
Cardano vs. The Hype Machine:
Recent bearish articles highlight Cardano’s slow development progress and missed deadlines. While these criticisms hold some weight, it’s important to remember Cardano is building a complex ecosystem.
The ADA Price:
Cardano’s Bullish Trajectory: A Technical Analysis Glimpse
Cardano (ADA) has been on a tear lately, and technical analysts are using charting tools to predict its potential price path. Here’s a breakdown of three possible targets based on different timeframes:
Short-Term (1-2 Months): Applying the Fibonacci retracement tool to ADA’s recent price surge suggests a first target of around $2.20. This level represents the 61.8% retracement of the current upswing, a common support zone after a price increase.
Mid-Term (3-6 Months): If the bullish momentum continues, a more ambitious target could be $14. This aligns with the 161.8% Fibonacci extension level, indicating a potential doubling of the current price within the next half year. However, reaching this target zone would require sustained buying pressure and positive news surrounding the Cardano ecosystem.
Long-Term (1+ Years): For the long-term hodlers (holders on for a dear life), some analysts are charting a much more aggressive target – a staggering $55. This aligns with the 261.8% Fibonacci extension, signifying a potential 25x return on investment from current levels. However, reaching this price point would require significant adoption of Cardano’s blockchain technology and widespread recognition of its functionalities.
Remember: This is for informational purposes only and should not be considered financial advice. Technical analysis is just one tool, and market conditions can change rapidly. Always conduct your own research before making any investment decisions.
Is ADA a Worthy Investment?
While some influencers are quick to dismiss ADA, it’s crucial to conduct your own research and understand Cardano’s unique value proposition. Here are some key aspects to consider:
Scalability: Cardano’s Ouroboros proof-of-stake consensus mechanism aims to achieve high transaction throughput without sacrificing decentralization, a challenge faced by many blockchains.
Smart Contracts: Cardano’s smart contract platform, Plutus, is built with security and formal verification in mind, aiming to minimize bugs and vulnerabilities.
Interoperability: Cardano’s vision includes interoperability with other blockchains, allowing seamless transfer of data and assets across different ecosystems.
Bearish News and Price Performance:
Despite the recent bearish sentiment, it’s worth noting that ADA started the current market cycle at around $0.20 and reached a peak of over $3.00, a significant increase. This demonstrates that long-term investors still see value in Cardano’s long-term vision.
Is ADA Right for You?
The decision to invest in ADA depends on your risk tolerance and investment horizon. If you’re looking for a quick pump based on influencer hype, Cardano might not be the best choice. However, if you believe in Cardano’s long-term vision of a secure and scalable blockchain platform, ADA could be a worthwhile investment for your portfolio.
Remember:
The cryptocurrency market is notoriously volatile and prone to hype cycles. Always conduct thorough research, understand the risks involved, and never invest more than you can afford to lose.

ANNUAL WRITING SELF EVALUATION 2023
List of works published this year:
Wanted: Dog Walker // Louis needs a dog walker. / Harry answers the ad. A Social Construct // Five times Harry and Louis try to lose their virginity and one time they finally do.
Tongue Tied // Louis’ new bestie placed a hand on his shoulder; he turned with a sway and looked into his blue eyes. ”What do you wish?” / The world spun for a moment, and Louis shrugged. It was easy. The only thing he wanted. “I wish that I could tell Harry that I love him, instead of getting all tongue tied and chickening out.” / The Irishman winked. “You never know, your wish may just come true.” / “From your lips to God’s ears, mate.” He gave the man a hug. “I gotta go before my Uber leaves me.” / He stumbled to the door, and that was the last thing he remembered from the night. ‘tis the damn season // Harry returns to her small hometown over the holiday season and starts to think about the road not taken.
Work you are most proud of (and why): ‘tis the damn season because I have always said that there was absolutely no way I could write an advent fic day by day. And yet, when Nov 30th came around and I only had two chapters, my fomo won over my fear of failure and I thought I’d give it a try, because the worst that would happen is that I wouldn’t finish it, which would’ve been fine! But then with the help of everyone who read along, I actually did it!
A favorite excerpt of your writing: unlike most years, when I quickly scrolled through my works, nothing specific jumped out, so I’ll just say that I really liked how ch 6 rolled into ch 7 in ‘tis the damn season!
Share or describe a favorite review you received: literally every single one.
A time when writing was really, really hard: oh boy. Okay. so if you go back and read my 2022 recap, and 2021, you’ll see that writing has consistently been hard for me for a few years. So, this year I told myself not to worry about it, that I could not write a single thing and not feel bad about it. I didn’t do a ton of writing this year, but having the internal pressure off sure helped. Even though I really miss the way it used to be.
A scene or character you wrote that surprised you: I’ll say Zayn in ‘tis the damn season, because I didn’t have a role for her when I started, and I really liked her as minor threat slash Louis’ bff and sometimes hookup. I want someone to write a story in her pov. lmaoooo How did you grow as a writer this year: I really tried to get rid of my perfectionist tendencies and tried to write without putting pressure on myself.
How do you hope to grow next year: i dont even know, tbh. I’ll be very happy if I match my 2023 fic count.
Who was your greatest positive influence this year as a writer (could be another writer or beta or cheerleader or muse etc etc): I adore everything that @disgruntledkittenface put out this year. The way she keeps pushing herself is really inspiring.
Anything from your real life show up in your writing this year: ummm, I guess the ‘moving back home thing’... idk. Nothing i wrote this year hit particularly close to home.
Any new wisdom you can share with other writers: i love you. please keep going!
Any projects you’re looking forward to starting (or finishing) in the new year: what I would give to be able to write the next installment of Swallow My Words. Thank you so much to @kingsofeverything @allwaswell16 @lululawrence and @haztobegood for tagging me! @phdmama want to join in the fun? @disgruntledkittenface did i miss yours? anyone else??? (also, here’re my responses from 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022)

There are a lot of people who say that the problem with modern media—specifically tentpole franchises like the MCU and “Star Wars”—is that there’s too much “pandering” to “wokeism” as opposed to “just telling good stories.”
And I want you to walk with me as I tell you about how “Wokeism” has always been a part of these franchises and that the stories are STILL GOOD actually. But how YOU’RE engaging with these stories is the problem.
Comics have literally always been woke. Superman was created by Jewish men with a specific goal in mind—he represented Jews. He was a response to the rise in Nazism.
The X-Men are, well, we know who they are—they represent persecuted minorities, be they race or sexual/gender minorities.
Star Wars was heavily influenced by the Vietnam War—and was on the side of the Vietnamese!
And don’t get me started on “Star Trek”. Cuz in that universe, people don’t even use money anymore. It’s a socialist utopia.
“Wokeism” has been baked into all these stories from the jump. It’s just that when we were children, we didn’t have the worldview that we do now (as adults) to see what it was.
A lot of people say that these “woke” writers are “reimagining great comic characters” and making them worse. Yet, the Tony Stark everybody loves in the MCU? Not comics accurate. The Superman Snyder made? Not comics accurate.
It’s ok to not like versions of characters that people choose to make. That’s why they’re adaptations. They’re not meant to be analogous. I accept Snyder’s version even though that was not Siegel and Shuster’s original vision. It’s Snyder’s take. And I engage with that as its own piece of media.
Has this era of these franchises been more inclusive? 100%. And will that appeal to everyone? Absolutely not. But there’s a reason for that.
I believe the problem is that, due to the interconnectedness of the MCU/Star Wars etc., fans feel forced to watch programs that don’t appeal to THEM. And then blame the show for that. When, perhaps, you were not the target audience.
“She-Hulk” was not made for everybody. It was made for people who would like to follow a female character with special abilities who just kind of wants to be normal and deal with everyday, normal stuff. But can’t. Because she’s a Hulk. But also a woman in the modern world. I found it funny and charming because it appealed to ME. And I often watch shows about women dealing with their careers and love lives.
It’s “Ally McBeal” if she got Hulk powers. And if you were unlikely to watch “Ally McBeal” why do you think you would like “She-Hulk”?
“Andor” is in many ways a good show. But I did not like it because I did not find it entertaining. I understood every political message it had. And share the politics of the show. I just didn’t find it to be a show that I enjoyed. So I didn’t watch it past the first couple episodes.
The problem is FOMO—fear of missing out. Not diversity. Not inclusion. But fans don’t realize that it’s ok to not consume everything from a franchise. That doesn’t make it bad. It just makes it not FOR YOU.
And saying that the work is bad because of “Wokeism” and “bad storytelling” (which is subjective), sounds like a YOU problem. If you can come to me with an objective take, I will engage with it. I’m not saying these new things are above criticism. But the problem isn’t that it’s “woke”.

i know ur not a therapist and i shouldn’t be asking this of u but i’m in a relationship of 3 years, i love him sm but i also don’t feel like i (23f) can be committed to somebody forever the way he wants me to be at this point in my life but the idea of leaving makes me feel sick but also im scared bc i feel so much FOMO and anxiety about being in a relationship 😀 any advice queen ?
hey!! it’s not problem really i’ve experienced this before so i gotchu! i understand the fear of missing out but the only thing you’re missing out on is what you need/want you know? what if he wants to get married tomorrow but you want to explore your 20s more, you’ll always be thinking about what you’re missing out on! you can talk to him about how you feel in a way that doesn’t seem like you want to leave you just maybe want him to slow down? give him a timeline of when YOU want to progress the relationship so maybe he can decide if he can wait or not. but at the same time i understand maybe wanting to breakup but not wanting to see someone you love with someone else but also trying to think of it as well if i can’t give him what he wants it’s unfair to keep him like a possession, and maybe if the breakup goes smooth you can still be friends that way he’s still around! but really outweigh your options make a pros and cons list and make sure this is REALLY want you wanna do and not something influenced by the worry of is the grass greener? love u goodluck (also side note being with someone who cares about you is extremely rewarding and may feel boring because it’s repetitive and healthy but the streets are evil and selfish)

Overstimulation
Tumblr media
We all have TikTok, Instagram, or Twitter, these social media apps are great for finding all about the new news or trends going around, in reality, social media platforms bombard us with an overwhelming amount of information, including news, updates, opinions, and advertisements. This constant stream of information can lead to information overload, making it challenging to process relevant and reliable content. Additionally, we have decreased productivity, Spending excessive time on social media can significantly reduce productivity. Constant notifications, scrolling feeds, and the temptation to check social media frequently can distract us from important tasks such as homework, responsibilities, and even work leading to decreased focus and efficiency this happens to me as I just don't want to do my homework and just get distracted by social media. In addition, we have one of my favorite topics Fear of Missing Out! or (FOMO), Social media platforms can induce a fear of missing out on events, activities, or experiences that others are sharing. one good example is the Napoleon trend on TikTok, It's one I've seen all over TikTok usually containing a picture of Napoleon with the text “There is nothing we can do”
youtube
So many people are following this trend just because of fear of missing out they see all the likes people are getting and want to get that same feeling with the dopamine they get from a few likes.
I would also love to talk about the overstimulation social media has on mental health, the overstimulation from social media has been linked to various mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, loneliness, and decreased overall well-being. In fact, spending more than six hours on social media a day causes you to have a higher chance of developing symptoms of depression.
Time mismanagement, social media can be highly addictive, causing individuals to spend excessive amounts of time scrolling, liking, and commenting on posts. This is happening to my brother right now, instead of doing his homework right away he sits on his bed scrolling TikTok, texting people until his phone dies. This can lead to a mismanagement of time, with hours passing by unnoticed and important tasks being neglected I've seen people miss work because of it or forget to study.
Finally we have a false sense of reality, one big exemple is Instagram most social media platforms offer various filters, editing tools, and photo enhancements that allow users to present an idealized version of themselves or their surroundings making themselves or others appear amazing in there photos which leads us to believe we have to look like them, even if they have 7 pounds of makeup on there face and 20 different filters. Similarly, Influencers and celebrities on social media often post about how there lifestyle that can appear glamorous, luxurious, and unattainable for many which again leads us to a false sense of reality.
In conclusion, social media in my opinion has its benefits, overstimulation from these platforms can have detrimental effects on our daily lives. It is important for us to be aware of the potential negative impacts, such as information overload, decreased productivity, FOMO, mental health issues, time mismanagement, and the false sense of reality it can create. Finding a balance and practicing mindful use of social media can help maintain a healthier relationship with these platforms.

Newer Cheaper Advertising
So what kind of advertising works in this environment? Well...
When people want to buy something, even if they've seen you ad for some product; they do a search for it. They then review the posted listings for each product and scout reviews.
What this means is that the consumer is more informed than ever. *And* they have options. Unless you happen to own a patent or copyright that makes your product functionally different from a competitor; they're not gonna buy yours first.
But here's the thing; they are searching. And the search results for your product are what is going to influence people to buy your product. If they do a search for your product and a competitor pops up, and they have a better product page (think sears catalogue here.) They're gonna buy that instead.
You would in their shoes.
If the product is functionally the same, but one is 5x expensive, they're not gonna buy your product unless you lie about how it operates. Or, you know; Don't lie, but just have a more appealing spread.
As far as timed advertising goes; one second of advertisement goes a lot further than five these days. Why? The viewer appreciates you not eating their time and data.
And because of the FOMO{fear of missing out} effect, if you happen to show an ad they don't quite catch, they're likely to replay the video: just to see your ad (especially if you're giving them a deal).
And that's a win/win for both you and the content creator.
A simple banner add (think CNN ticker) is both unobtrusive *and* eye catching. Making viewers *want* to be advertised to instead of want to ignore what you're forcing down their throat when you put unstoppable ads in a random website article, or on their YouTube feed.
Now, it doesn't make viewers *want* to buy your product. Nobody wants to buy your product. It's your job to make them want it.
Here's the thing; if somebody locked you in a Ford Fiesta for nine days as a form of advertising. Would you want to buy a Ford vehicle ever again?
Absolutely not. So why do you do it virtually?

Right Person At Maybe The Wrong Time- Chapter 21
Summary: There is a shift in Y/n and Eddie’s relationship. How will that pan out?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Y/n’s POV
I was inside the kitchen when I heard Eddie come through the front door. “Y/n?” He called out.
“I’m in the kitchen.” I said back. “Hey, how was work?” I turned my attention to him.
“Same old same old. Except for the fact that a Luxury influencer, named Sabrina, fell in a sauna and burned her face and became unresponsive. But get this, she wasn’t actually rich, she was a girl named Rebecca, who was basically trespassing.”
“Wow. You know, believe it or not, about eighty percent of those celebs and influencers don’t own half of the things they flex on the internet. The real rich people tend to hide their wealth. One time I went to another author’s house, which she described as a quaint, little house, when in reality it was a mansion. Her hallways were as big as this house. I wonder what possessed her to lie and do those things.”
“May described it as FOMO.”
“Oh... yeah that makes sense. The fear of missing out can cause a lot of people to do stupid things. I saw it a lot when I worked in the ER.”
“She said a lot of people worry about not getting the full experience or wonder if they did something different in their life how things would pan out. Do you ever do that?” He tried to make it seem like he was asking out of curiosity but it was obvious there was something behind his words.
“I did. I always wondered what life would have been like if I told Buck sooner or if my mom didn’t die. If I had told Buck sooner, who knows what would have happened. Maybe we would have been happily married or hated the fact that the other was breathing air. Who knows? There were so many different things, but every time, I realized that things happen for a reason. Every choice I made has led me here, with you, and I wouldn't change that for a second.” I said as I invaded his space and gave him a kiss.
“Yeah, but I have to ask, do you miss being a nurse? I mean when we met you were working as a nurse and now you're a writer. You don’t miss the action or the satisfaction of helping people.” He asked.
“To be honest, I thought I did. That was until I noticed that Alex ate all her food separately, or the fact that she always wears mix-match socks for good luck.”  Eddie gave me a confused look. “What I’m saying is I noticed stuff that I had never noticed when I was a nurse and a single mom at the same time. I’m here when she wakes up and I'm here when she goes to sleep. I missed a lot of that while working.” I turned my attention back to the dishes I was washing when he walked in. “I never said this but I missed a lot of Alex’s first because I was working or going to school.”
“Really?” He said, puzzled.
“Oh yeah. I missed her first steps, her first smile, her first laugh. Majority of it, but I have a chance to be here now. So, no. I don’t miss being a nurse.”
I felt his hands wrap around my waist pulling me into his arms as he kissed the top of my head. “Don’t forget about bodily fluids.”
I let out a big laugh. “Yeah, that too.” After I finished up, we headed to bed.
Tumblr media
The next day, I went over to Buck’s to drop off Alex. When we got there, Taylor opened the door. “Oh my god I almost forgot you lived here.” I remarked. (Just because Y/n doesn’t want Taylor to be cheated on doesn’t mean she likes her now.)
“Ha! Funny.” She said leaving the door open and walking to the kitchen. “Buck, Alex is here.” Completely ignoring my presence.
“Coming!” He called from his bathroom. He came down to greet the both of us. “Hey guys.”
“Hey dad.” Alex said as she went to put her stuff down in the back room.
“I’m leaving. Bye, honey.” She came between Buck and I and gave him a full on kiss. I’m one hundred percent sure I saw her tongue. “Y/n.” She said brushing past me.
After she left and shut the door I turned my attention back to Buck. “You okay? I thought she was going to eat your face off there.”
“Haha. Very funny.” He said as he walked into the kitchen.
“No, I'm serious. I think that was considered attempted murder. Are you safe? You know you can tell me anything?”
“Is there something else you need or are you just here to bother me?”
“Alright, alright. I came to talk to you.”
“About?”
“A few things really. Like did you tell you know who, about you know what?”
“I told her a long time ago, remember?”
“Did you tell her who yet?” Buck looked down, which told me everything I needed to know. “Buck seriously?”
“Why do you care? I’m sure she doesn’t even care.”
“Because, my child will not be in this house of lies.” I said dramatically, looking around the house as if it was possessed. Buck shot me a glare. “No, but seriously when she finds out I don’t want my child hearing the things she’s gonna call you. It isn’t good for her childhood.”
“How about this. I worry about my relationship and you worry about yours.”
I threw my hands up. “Excuse me for caring, and what’s so wrong with my relationship. We talked and we’re okay now.”
“Well other than the fact that you argue when the other sneezes too loud. It’s always ‘Is there a meaning behind the volume of his sneeze. What if that means he doesn’t want to be with me?’” He said bitching-ly.
I gave him a look. “Hmm. I’m gonna leave.”
“Oh don’t be like that. I’m joking.”
I turned to playfully hit Buck square in the chest. “Me too. Gotcha.” Whenever Buck and I used to argue when we were in a relationship it always ended in two ways. Sex or teasing. Sometimes both.
“Just like old times huh?” Buck said as he had that look on his face. “Though most of the time it ended a little differently.” He said as he stepped closer towards me. He didn’t stop until I was backed up on the counter and he was a step in front of me. Then he hit me square on my arm. “Gotcha.” He said with a shit eating grin.
I let out a breath I didn’t know I was holding, and faked a laugh. “Very funny.”
“Oh, guess what happened today at work.”
“What?”
“Well we were called because a groom fainted but it was for that show Speed Wedding.”
“Oh my god! I love that show. Eddie and I just finished binge watching it. So what happened?”
“Well the groom had this condition where every organ of his body including his heart, was on the wrong side of his body. Hen had to suck blood from the canal.”
“That’s awesome. I bet that was exciting for her.”
“More like terrifying.” Just then, Alex came around the corner, Nintendo switch in hand.
“Mom, why are you still here? Dad and I are about to play smash bros.”
“I can talk to your father, you know. Don’t mind me, I’m leaving.” I grabbed my things off the counter. “Bye guys.”
Tumblr media
Buck’s POV
I was hearing Hen talk about how Karen was missing her 20’s because she feels like she wasted them. Chimney asked everyone if they would do their 20’s over again. Bobby said no, Lucy said no, and then I decided to say something. “ I know I would.”
“Why’s that?” Lucy asked.
“Well, I spent my 20’s traveling and trying new things.”
“Yeah and what’s wrong with that?”
“There's something wrong with that when you miss a chunk of your kid's childhood.” Hen added.
“Thanks for that, Hen.”
“What? I’m just saying.”
“You have a kid?” Lucy asked again.
“Yeah, she turned 10 in November. When her mom and I were in college, I ended up getting kicked out because I used my tuition money on a bike I had. I decided to travel and explore. I asked her to come with me but she didn’t want to uproot her life. I didn’t know about Alex but if I did I would have stayed.”
“Wow. No offense to your ex but she should have told you about the kid before you left.”
“I mean we were young. She was freshly 18 and I was turning 20 soon. It was a tough decision. Knowing what I know now I definitely would have stayed. Probably become a firefighter sooner, invest in some cryptocurrency. Probably had gotten married and had more kids.” After I finished my sentence, I realized what I said and everyone was quiet and all eyes were aware on me.
“Buck, do you still like Y/n?”
“What? No! I was just saying back then. I’m happy now! I have Taylor and she has Eddie.”
“Wait as in Eddie you’re best friend I’ve heard about? He’s dating your ex? Isn’t that like against bro code or something? Especially since she is the mother or your child?”
“What am I, fifteen? There is no such thing as bro code and I hadn’t seen her in years. I had already started dating Taylor when she came into my life.”
“So if you weren’t dating Taylor would you have tried to date her?” Bobby asked from the front.
“From what Athena and I heard, it wasn’t for a lack of trying.” I gave Hen a glare. “What? That’s for calling me middle-aged.”
“Hold on. You tried to date Y/n while just starting your relationship with Taylor?”
“No! I don’t know. Maybe? It’s a bit of a gray area.”
“I mean is it?” Hen said. She knew what really happened and she was about to blab. “Telling someone you still love them is pretty clear.”
“What is up with you today, blabbermouth?” Chimney asked. “I love it but like wow.”
“I’ve been holding it in for so long. It’s coming out of me like a volcano.”
“You told her you love her, buddy?” Bobby said.
“Can we just drop it. We’ve moved on.” I said hoping to end the discussion.
“Does Eddie or Taylor know about this?” Chimney asked.
“It happened before Eddie and her were together so it doesn’t matter.” Hen chimed in.
“Thanks for that Hen. Again. Can we please just move on?” Everyone just went silent. After a few moments of silence the Chimney spoke up again.
“So was it like a regular ‘I love you’ or was it a ‘pick me, choose me, love me’ kind of I love you? If so, nice going Meredith Grey.” Everyone on the engine cracked up. I knew I wasn't living this down.

Eddie’s POV
I decided to talk to Y/n about our relationship, after I got home from work. Things have been rocky lately but I wanted her to know that I was in. I wanted to make this work. When I pulled into my driveway, I knew Y/n wasn’t here. Her car was nowhere to be found. As I walked in the house I was greeted by Carla's face instead. “Well hello there stranger.”
“Hey Carla.”
“That’s all I get, ‘hey Carla’.” She said as she mocked my tone. “I know you all boo'd up and everything but damn.”
“I’m sorry, Carla. Come here.” I said as I wrapped her in a hug.
“That’s more like it.”
“Where’s Y/n?”
“Really, boy? Can you pretend to care about what I’m saying?”
“Again, Sorry Carla. I needed to talk to her.”
“Well she’s home.”
“Why is she there?”
“Maybe that’s because she lives there. Also, I could use a check as of lately seeing as you never need me to watch Christopher anymore. She’s always here with him and Alex.”
“Yeah. I know and I’m sorry it’s just been a lot of change lately.”
“Yeah. I’ve heard.” Someone told her about the breakdown and the fights, I guess. My money’s on Buck. “Do you wanna talk about it?”
“Not really.” Since she was still here I decided to go for it. “Since you’re still here, could you watch Chris while I run to her house?”
“So you barely say a word to me and you want me to babysit? Boy bye.” She started to gather her things.
“I’ll pay you for the extra time. Please? It’ll be quick I swear.”
“Well. Since you put it like that. Of course.” I quickly ran out the door muttering a thank you. I drove to her house on the next block. When I pulled into the driveway, I noticed another car in the driveway. It was a Mercedes Benz. Newer model and it was nice. I had never seen it  here before. I got out of the car and used my key and unlocked the door. I heard laughing and talking.
“Oh… hey baby.” She said as I entered the living room. Across from her was some guy. “This is John Holmes. My editor recommended him to be my ghost writer. I’ve been having a bit of trouble with my book.”
“Hey man. John, like she said.” He extended his hand for me to take it.
“Yeah, Eddie.” I said as I ignored his hand. “It’s getting kind of late don't you think?”
“It’s getting late?” She checked the time. “Oh my god. It is late. We got so caught up in our conversation we didn’t even notice. John let me walk you out.”
“No it’s okay. It’s still a little light out. Plus I wanted to talk to you.” She looked at me like I grew three heads.
“I’m gonna see myself out, don’t worry about it Y/n. It was good talking to you.” He said in this totally cringy suave voice. “Nice meeting you Eddie.”
“Yeah same.” I waited until I heard the door open and shut before I went to talk. “So that’s why you weren’t at the house when I got home?”
“I’m sorry? I was home, at my house.”
“You know what I meant.” I said back.
“Yeah I know what you meant but let’s be honest it was a stupid thing to say. I had a meeting and I didn't want to disturb you at work to see if it was okay to do it at your house.”
“Yeah, I wouldn’t want ‘John’ over anyways.” I made sure to mock the way he said his name.
“Why are you saying his name like that?” She started to walk to her room. I followed behind her and when we reached the bedroom, she sat on the bed. I sat beside her. She stopped for a moment and looked like she was deep in thought. Then, a huge smile crossed her face. “You're jealous!” She shouted.
“What? No! Of John? Please.”
“Oh my god! You’re so jealous you’re about to turn green.” She teased.
“No I'm not.” She continued to look at me with that shit-eating grin. “Okay maybe a little but…”
“Aha! I knew it.” She turned and straddled my lap. “I can assure you have nothing to worry about.” She gave me a passionate kiss. “Now what do you want to talk about?”
I had forgotten why I came over here. “Oh I wanted to talk to you about us.”
“Uh oh. Last time you wanted to talk about us I stormed out of the place. Can we not do that because I need to sleep here?”
“Well lucky for you it’s good news.” I said kissing her again.
“Okay. I’m listening.”
“So I know things between us have been a little rocky. Between the job changes, the scheduling, and the therapy. I want to thank you for being there every step of the way for me. It’s been exactly what I needed and even though I’m not there one hundred percent yet, it’s nice to know that you’re sticking around.”
“Like I told you, Diaz. You’re stuck with me.” She put her lips back on mine. The kiss started to prolong before I broke away.
“There’s something else I wanted to say. Because of that I wanted to ask you something. Christopher and I love and enjoy you and Alex’s company so much and this back and forth thing is getting a little old so… I was wondering if you wanted to move in together?” She went completely still.
“What?”
“Would you want to move in together?” I repeated. She quickly got off my lap.
“Eddie. That’s a big step, not scratch that, it’s a huge step. I mean we’ve only been dating since December.”
“And it has felt way longer than that to me. The way I feel about you is something that has never changed through everything.”
“Eddie I get that but it’s still something to think about.”
“Okay.”
“Okay? That’s it.”
“Yeah. This isn’t the 50’s where you have no choice. Take all the time you need and if you decide you don’t want to move in together I understand.”
“Seriously?”
“Seriously.” I stated.
“You have no idea how turned on I am by you right now.” She went back to her spot on my lap. Quickly claiming my lips. The kiss started to heat up and my shirt was off when I remembered that Carla was waiting on me.
I quickly broke the kiss, making her pout. “I forgot Carla’s at the house waiting for me. I gotta go.”
“Oh come on. Wouldn’t you rather stay here a little longer?”
“Well, if we lived together this wouldn’t be a problem.” I said, teasing her.
“Ugh. You are hereby banished. Leave.” She playfully shouted. “I love you.”
“I love you too.” I said as I put my shirt back on and headed home.

Note: It seems like Eddie is ready for more but is Y/n? I mean we’ve been so focused on Eddie’s commitment issues we never focused on Y/n’s. No one stays single for nearly 10 years without having an issue with that. Also have you guys noticed a pattern in these chapters? Like a phrase or a topic? If so, comment on it.

Social Media and identity struggle on teenagers' mental health
Pedro Torello
Teenagers' mental health is a growing issue in contemporary society and it is directly related to social media and identity struggle. Never has society paid attention to teenagers' psychological issues as it does today. Depression, self-harm and suicide are rising among adolescents, these issues have always existed but are rapidly increasing due to social media, identity problems, along with many others. Three decades ago, teenagers' problems came from drinking, drunken driving, teenage pregnancy and smoking. These have since fallen and been replaced by a new public health concern: soaring rates of mental health disorders. In this text I will explain how social media and identity issues can affect teenagers mental health.
Social media creates an illusory environment for teenagers. This crisis is often attributed to social medias, as well as other problems like lack of exercise and sleep, wich all combined result in a cognitive implosion: anxiety, depression, compulsive behaviors, self-harm and even suicide. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, “In 2019, 13 percent of adolescents reported having a major depressive episode, a 60 percent increase from 2007”, many other data support the existence of these crises that require a lot of attention. On social media people select only their achievements, fun experiences and positive moments to share. Which means that these people are not necessarily feeling the same way they appear to in photos. Therefore, not only an idealized image is created for both men and women, but also a perfect life image, and both can’t truly be obtained, only through filters, photo editing, and curated photos.
Social media has an important role in making teenagers feel confused and excluded. Never have teenagers been so disappointed because they don’t follow neither the ideal body image created nor the perfect life that others appear to have. As a result, this disappointment causes many psychological problems, leading to bigger and more dangerous issues. Eventually teenagers might feel left out or inferior if they are not partaking in similar activities or achieving the same level of success, resulting in FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) and isolation. This phenomenon happens to almost every one that uses social media, creating a rather unhealthy environment.
Teenagers experience a period of identity exploration as they seek to understand themselves that can affect their mental health. Some time ago the term teenager didn’t exist and the transition from child into adult was sudden, nowadays everyone is familiarized with the idea of a transition period lived by teenagers. Children are used to follow everything that their parents tell them to, but teenagers are different, they have much more autonomy and independence to start acting by themselves. During this period teenagers seek to understand who they are, their values and their place in the world. As a consequence, they might face an identity crisis, struggling to discover who they are and what their beliefs are. This uncertainty can lead to anxiety as they try to balance their self-image with society expectations and pressure.
Gender identity can influence teenagers mental health. Not much time ago the existence of other genders was completely denied by most cultures and religions, but nowadays it is becoming more and more accepted throughout the world and people are openly speaking about it, consequently teenagers are led to question their gender orientation. This is not a problem itself in most cases, nevertheless, in specific ones, it can transform into serious mental health issues. Gender dysphoria is defined as a feeling of distress or discomfort in individuals with gender identity confusion; these individuals might face many other challenges created by society, like bullying.
Teenagers' mental health is related to social media and identity issues that teenagers experience. As presented, they go through a lot of things as they get older, and naturally, they might face some issues that can be intensified and turn into more serious problems. Therefore, it is important to be open-minded regarding these issues and provide support for teenagers who are facing problems and need attention.

SEO is working, now what?
How to Close Leads and Turn Them into Sales: Effective Strategies for Success
In the world of business, generating leads is a crucial first step, but closing those leads and converting them into actual sales is the ultimate goal. The process of turning prospects into paying customers requires finesse, persistence, and a well-structured approach. In this article, we will explore effective strategies to help you close leads and boost your sales success.
1.    Understand Your Leads:
Before attempting to close a lead, it is imperative to thoroughly understand their needs, pain points, and motivations. Effective communication and active listening play a key role in this stage. Engage with your leads, ask questions, and actively listen to their responses. Tailor your approach based on the information gathered, demonstrating that you genuinely care about solving their problems.
2.    Build Trust and Rapport:
Trust is the foundation of any successful business relationship. Establishing rapport with your leads is essential in gaining their confidence. Be authentic, transparent, and consistent in your communication. Provide valuable insights and expertise without pushing for an immediate sale. Building trust takes time, but it is a crucial investment in securing long-term customer loyalty.
3.    Personalize Your Approach:
Every lead is unique, and a one-size-fits-all approach seldom yields positive results. Personalize your interactions by understanding your lead's preferences and interests. Utilize data analytics and customer relationship management (CRM) tools to gather information about their past interactions with your brand. Address their specific pain points and concerns to demonstrate that you genuinely care about their needs.
4.    Offer Solutions, Not Products:
Instead of simply promoting your products or services, focus on offering solutions that cater to your lead's specific needs. Position your offerings as the answer to their problems, highlighting the benefits and value they will receive by choosing your brand. Demonstrating how your product or service addresses their pain points makes it more compelling for the lead to make a purchase.
5.    Leverage Social Proof:
Social proof, such as customer testimonials, case studies, and reviews, can significantly influence a lead's decision-making process. Share success stories from satisfied customers to provide evidence of your brand's credibility and reliability. Additionally, positive feedback instills confidence in potential buyers, making them more likely to convert into paying customers.
6.    Create a Sense of Urgency:
Establishing a sense of urgency can prompt leads to take action quickly. Limited-time offers, exclusive deals, or special discounts create a fear of missing out (FOMO) that can motivate potential customers to make a purchase decision promptly. However, ensure that your urgency is genuine and not manipulative, as dishonest tactics can damage your brand's reputation.
7.    Overcome Objections and Concerns:
Throughout the sales process, you may encounter objections or concerns from leads. Instead of brushing them aside, address these issues head-on. Listen to their reservations and respond with empathy and understanding. Offer solutions to alleviate their concerns and demonstrate your commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
8.    Follow Up Strategically:
The fortune is often in the follow-up. Many leads require multiple touchpoints before converting into sales. Implement a well-structured follow-up process that includes emails, phone calls, or even personalized messages. Ensure that your follow-ups are timely, relevant, and not overly aggressive, as hounding leads can have a negative impact on their perception of your brand.
9.    Offer Incentives:
Incentives can be powerful motivators for leads to make a purchase decision. Offer special discounts, free trials, or additional value-added services to sweeten the deal. Tailor incentives to align with the lead's specific interests and needs, making the offer more appealing.
Closing leads and converting them into sales is the lifeblood of any successful business. By understanding your leads, building trust, personalizing your approach, and offering genuine solutions, you can significantly increase your chances of closing deals. Moreover, leveraging social proof, creating a sense of urgency, and strategic follow-ups can further boost your sales success. With dedication, persistence, and a customer-centric mindset, you can transform your leads into loyal and satisfied customers, propelling your business to new heights of success.

A Place Further Than the Universe (I)
Tumblr media
word count: 401 words date: 01.20.23
The show is quick to introduce the idea of friendships born from common goals and the fear of unfulfillment.
Our four protagonists have that concern in common— that they will fail to accomplish something. Though their individual motivations may appear vastly different, it also isn't incorrect to generalize them to stem from a common fear.
Tamaki grieves a wasted youth (not minding the fact she's quite young at age 16) and pushes herself out of her comfort zone to be able to boast having any achievement to her name. Shirase has dedicated much time and energy to developing and executing a plan that would take her to the place where she'll (hopefully) find her mother. Hinata acknowledges that once she starts college, she won't have the time to create long-lasting memories, let alone from such an eventful journey. Shiraishi fears that she is destined to lead a lonely life as she continues to pursue a career that's been forced on her.
Again, different motivations that not only led them to the same place (quite literally), but also stem from the same reasoning: essentially a deep-set fear of missing out (fomo). Whether it's allowing the chance to form meaningful friendships slip by them or failing to accomplish a goal that's been worked towards... the bottomline is that they cannot fathom not having at least tried. It's definitely interesting to see four characters that had not received any influence from one another have a story that can be dilluted to the exact same dilemma.
On a note about Shiraishi— although she explicitly claims that not having the opportunity to develop relationships at all is what's hurt her most deeply, in the interactions we're shown between her and her classmates, we see that a [potentially] recurring issue is that she's often faced with people whose intentions are to use her for her status. She sees that they care for her persona and what it can offer, but not her as an individual.
In a way, though she appears happy with her new friends, she's still being used. She is the other girls' means to get to Antarctica. Even having found what she was seeking, she's sought after for what her position can offer. At its core, their friendship isn't built on the basis that she was seen as a person, but as something to gain from. (She can do so much better than them!)
