it's makani's birthday.. and his members are stressing the hell out! | ft. nct sei & nct ensemble
"since when did he want this?"
"don't ask me! i didn't buy the gift!"
hikari is trying his best to not let the stress of everybody speaking, moving around, and setting up stress him out, because he's literally the one baking the cake and if the cake's ruined the whole birthday is ruined.
getting all members of nct into makani, zixin, and minjae's one apartment is originally what they planned, but then they realized that was not that amazing of an idea, because of a bunch of men in this apartment meant for three people is kind of a nightmare and a claustrophobic hikari cannot deal with that.
so they decided to improvise. the rest of the 127 members will distract makani while his amazing and sweet nct sei members prepare his place for a party.
"it doesn't have to be so even, hi" seojun comments, noticing the way hikari is trying to perfectly decorate the cake with the icing in his hands, slowly layering it to make sure the lines are perfectly across. "seriously, maki won't care".
"yeah but i care".
"we're literally gonna dig our hands through that, no need to make it all pretty".
hikari pauses, then pouts. "but i want it to look pretty, because presentation is important".
"not when your gonna watch makani fuck this shit up in the next hour or so" minjae states much more seriously than he intends, and hikari stares at him like he just said something crazy.
"why the hell did jungwoo buy him a whole mall?" xavier inquired as he stares at the sheer amount of gifts jungwoo got for makani, they practically made up half the gifts given to makani.
"oh i definitely know why" zixin says, biting into the sugar cookie he'd stored into the fridge. seojun looks at him like he was insane, having no idea what he meant and why he decided to say that.
"just.. forget it seojun".
"done!" hikari screams, letting go of the icing he was using to decorate the cake. he then looks to minjae, who immediately knows what he means. minjae rushes to hikari's side with the candles, and the two get to that.
"how come he got so many gifts? i didn't get as much as this for my birthday".
"stop complaining".
"i'm not complaining, i'm commenting on my observation".
"well stop commenti—"
"he's coming!"
minjae startles, almost knocking over hikari, who was holding the lighter. that would've been a horrible incident. "i'm sorry" he whispers, glaring at zixin.
"what do you want us to burn down the house?"
"that's what the text said!"
"well don't scream it! he's gonna hear us!"
luckily, hikari is done lighting the candles, and there won't be any more risks of the dorm lighting on fire, hopefully..
"happy birthday!"
when makani walks through the door, he blinks so blankly that it almost looks like he's bored, he yells when seojun decides to wrap his arms around him and pretty much squeeze the life out of him.
"seojun your killing him".
"actually i'm okay, just trying to process" makani allows seojun to melt into his arms, he loves him too much to tell him otherwise anyway.
"jaehyun is horrible at distracting people by the way".
xavier chokes on his spit, not expecting that comment of all things.
"happy birthday" hikari smiles at the older, side eyeing the cake he made, seeing it was now really pissing him off.
"i kind of can't move".
right, seojun is literally keeping him in this position, he can't move.
"just a few more minutes".
"are you trying to kill me?"
"yep".
