My desire need, no seriously, it's started to spill out my sides for a Trigun blog coincided on the same day with wondering what the fuck TOMBI meant XD
Tombi is the title of the opening theme song for Trigun Stampede, and as I sifted through the internet, I doubted the results I was seeing, unsure if my research skills were up to snuff.
UNTIL! I came across this description: In Japan, people call the Black Kite “Tobi” or “Tombi,” and neither is wrong.
Tumblr media
The moment I saw the pic, I heard in my head the piercing bird cry from the song. EUREKA! What else could it be!? Mystery solved, right!? I think so. ^^
But I wanted to dig deeper. Why the Tombi? What could the symbolism be here?
On Bird Life International, I turned up an article about the Black Kite by none other than HIH Princess Takamado.
Notable quotes are as follows: "Reviled in Japanese culture and beyond for its scavenging behaviour, the Black Kite is a misunderstood raptor. Find out how its biggest flaws are actually its biggest advantages - both for its own survival, and ours."
"In Nihon Shoki, or the Chronicle of Japan, there is a story of a certain golden-colored Black Kite. It perched at the tip of Emperor Jinmu’s arrow, blinded the eyes of the enemies by emitting light and finally led the emperor to victory. Thus the Black Kite used to be a sacred bird, but has come to assume a negative image - probably since it became dependent on human lives. The bird is able to coexist with human beings only because it is too cautious to us to be tamed. This characteristic may give it even more of a negative image."
Sacred. Dependent. Reviled.
I can't help but connect this symbolism back to Vash through the song title. whispers Also the golden color. pats babygirl's head
Nai accuses him of becoming dependent on human lives in ep 11. And Vash himself repeated what he heard from Rem in ep 9, that plants can't survive without humans.
Look, am I super projecting? Maybe. But that's the whole point. My Trigun ferality has bubbled over to the point of escape XD
TL;DR Vash iz birb

Random thoughts on Knive's Theme
Listen, I'm totally fine if Knive's song is literally something him and Vash created together. A song that's solely theirs. Their proof of love and connection as brothers in the past...
But I'd also love if the reason it sounds comforting to Vash is because Rem sang/hummed them that song when they were babies. Being so young, he remembers hearing it, but not why/where he may have heard it from since they grew so fast. The song was something Rem used to reassure her newborn sons, because she had no idea how else to calm them down. She was all alone before them, and now she has people who she can love and care for. The Trigun manga even has Kite whistling/humming a song that reminds Vash of Rem. He even says it was a song she had once sung. Man.... Knives will be so pissed if he found out the original composition of the song he believes he wrote for only himself and Vash was actually created by Rem xD I need this misanthropic man Plant with 150-years worth of denying his mommy issues to just break at that revelation.

My current top 15 Anime and why
Because why the fuck not. I'm doing top 15 so that I have some variety behind it. Otherwise I would just be gushing non stop XD
Apparently numbers go big now - AND THEY GO SMALLER IF YOU TRY TO TYPE IN THE SAME LINE AS THEM???
comparison:
15
15 -
DA HECK????
(Edit: I was going to colour all the numbers because I wanted a rainbow. WHY THE FUCK FOR THEY CHANGE TO SMALL WHEN YOU COLOUR THEM??????)
Guess the titles of the anime get a small heading. Anyways. Onto the actual list!
15
Technoroid OVERMIND
Ayo. Starting out with a really random one. So if anyone were to look at my Anilist then they might be a bit confused. I decided I'd keep movies out of here as well as anything I haven't specifically finished. Also takt op. Destiny needs a re evaluation.
Anyways. This premise is so sick and I feel like they managed it really well. The characters were all really fun and the music was fantastic which is honestly the most important thing about Idol shows. I really like idol shows but often struggle with the stupid drama in them that just leads to seasons upon seasons that didn't need to happen or wouldn't actually happen.
In this they're just androids. The fantasy twist works so well for the genre and I honestly don't know why it isn't done more often. This way they can bullshit the drama and it actually makes sense.
Honestly my favourite character was Kite. He was great and his voice always gave me shivers. Especially his piece in the closing. Damn.
I don't want to go into full reviews with this, rather just gushing about things I like and stuff. I really don't think this got the recognition it deserves - probably because of it's deviation from the norm - but it would be cool to get some sort of sequel.
(Edit: There's a manga releasing apparently. Imma check that out.)
14
UniteUp!
Continuing on with the trend of idol animes apparently. UniteUp! was so good. As I mentioned in my Reviews while I watch of the show, it felt so grounded and real that other idol shows just don't seem to capture. These were all real people with real problems dealing with real life.
I also like how we had such a large cast of characters but it never really felt overwhelming as they focused on group dynamics and specific individuals rather than trying to cram every single person into their own arcs.
Once again the music was fantastic and by god was this show pretty gay. Honestly I don't know what the sentiments of others are, but the Anela duo definitely weren't straight and neither were Akira and Daiki. That bath scene says it all.
Anyways. If you want a fun time with a really solid idol anime, please check it out. I saw earlier that we're getting a season two soon. I am so looking forward to it.
13
Trigun Stampede
Damn! I don't even know what to really say about this one. The visuals are absolutely stunning - there is no doubt about that. The score and the characters are excellent. And how dare they leave us on that cliff hanger.
I have absolutely no history with this story and still need to watch and read the originally but I am really looking forward to seeing how the story adapts between the three.
You can ask my partner. I've already said we're watching everything trigun related as soon as we are done with our current show.
I'm really looking forward to season two. And especially seeing how this all pans out. Apparently there will be tears according to the fandom. Concern.
12
Re-main
Damn this show came out of nowhere for me. I watched it quite awhile ago and have been meaning to rewatch it again.
The premise is definitely a sports anime but honestly so different. All because of one thing. The fact that he is an amnesiac is such a fascinating concept to work with - especially with how he was before (trying not to spoil - can't remember when this comes up in the anime)
And then the ending?? Damn. They seriously set up that cliff hanger and I really hope this show gets a sequel.
I really can't say too much about it without giving away some spoilers but damn does it change up the formula and do it so fucking well.
11
Given
Given is great. Such a pure but heartbreaking portrayal of love on one side with such conflicting but also nurturing views on the other. Having the different realtionships throughout this is really well done how they all bounce off of each other. Especially when they entertwine it with the music.
As it is said. That is how they communicate - through the music.
I'm busy catching up with the manga and really hope the anime continues with it.
Also the fucking is just fucking gorgeous. It has no write to hit you that hard.
Also - something else that shouldn't be allowed to hit you that hard. Damn Mafuyu has had a difficult past. We love how he learns to heal and grow with Uenoyama at his side.
Anyways, moving on.
10
Bakuten!!
Okay. Who said a sports anime could be this pretty.
I love the art style and the music throughout all of this. I love the portayal and the evolution of these character - seriously all their arcs are great. The interactions of the team is so tangible and real.
I watch a lot of sports anime and I often struggle with some of the drama used within the sports - it feels like the only thing that ever fuels the story is the matches. Whereas in Bakuten - the character seriously fuel the story. You can understand their motivations much more than just - I want to play this sport and be the best!
I also feel like they really captured everything really well in the movie. The whole concept of wanting to sore is great and really well executed.
I also love the interactions they have with the other team. It's not just a once off competition or practice match that they face each other. We actually get tangible characters for the whole team and see how much they two teams are similar to one another. It's a very healthy rivalry that isn't normally this expanded on in sports anime.
9
Sasaki and Miyano
Yesssssss. These two are just absolutely amazing. Their whole story arc and relationship is just tooth rottingly sweet. They bounce off of each other so well.
And I love the fact of how slow the actual story is. They meet at the start of Miyanos first year (from what I know - I still need to read the novels) and sasaki's second and they only end up confessing just before graduation happens. It really plays out well and is so healthy.
There is no problematic elements like in so many BL stories which is such a breath of fresh air. And the fact that sasaki is very specific about making sure to maintain boundaries to ensure that miyano is comfortable is also excellent.
On a slightly different note - I still need to see the Hirano and Kagiura movie. Been dying to watch it. I've been keeping up to date with both manga and both of these stories are amazing. I love the dichotomy of the two stories and how they are coming to their own realisations of their feelings in honestly very different ways.
I also recently watched the dub of the anime due to some videos on tiktok. Fucking hell it is absolutely hilarious. Kellen Goff as Sasaki has no reason for being that good. Seriously. Damn.
8
Link Click
On a completely different note. Damn this one makes you questions your own morals and reality as you know it.
I really don't want to get into this one much as I do believe watching it blind is the best way to go.
The art style is fantastic and that opening hits like a truck it is so good. The characters just click (pun not intended) and you just understand their motivations and don't know which side to side with most of the time. It brings about such high moral dilemmas that will seriously mess with your brain sometimes and there is one episode that will likely make you cry.
Anyways. Season 2 has just started airing and I am so ready for it.
7
Buddy Daddies
Why did a show about two queer platonic dudes who adopt a child while beings assassins hit so damn hard.
The show jumps between episodes with backstory and episodes with them just being good dads and it is balanced so well. This anime won't end up getting a sequel most likely with how it ended but damn I wouldn't say no to one.
Rei is my favourite character and I relate to him far too much. His interactions with the world are so fascinating and his whole arc with Miri is honestly some of the best media I've seen.
I absolutely loved watching this show weekly and it always brightened up my day when I realised a new episode would be up.
If you would like further thoughts on this one then check the Reviews while I watch on it for more chaos.
6
No Game No Life
So. This was the first ever anime that I ever watched. It was a random recomendation from a friend. Look at where we are today.
This show is honestly just so fun. The characters are silly and the whole plot is just absolute chaos. I really enjoy the games aspect and how it was all incorporated into the world.
I can't even really say much about it. It is just a guilty pleasure of mine and will always hold a special place in my heart.
Also. Please can it just get a second season already.
5
Assassination Classroom
So. Unlike everything else on the list - this one I only finished really recently. My partner and I were watching it together. And to put it out there straight away. I cried. That ending was far too emotional.
I really enjoyed the humour throughout the whole thing as well as the constant underlying dread of the whole situation.
They also really played out Koro-senseis backstory really well. The teasing to it was excellent. I must say though that one of the twists seriously came out of left field. Like damn.
I've just recently bought the boxset and am reading through the manga. Once again. It's absolutely amazing.
Also the openings of them all jumping are absolutely fucking hilarious and you can't tell me otherwise.
If you want to know what officially sold me on the show was just in the first episode. (Note we watched in dub)
Tumblr media
Don't ask me why but I found this to be the most hilarious thing ever. The absurdity and the line delivery was magnificent. I annoy my partner by quoting it atleast once a day.
4
Life Lessons with Uramichi Oniisan
Speaking of comedies. This show has no right to be this good. The absudist dead pan comedy in the middle of whats meant to be a TV show is such a random premise but just works so well.
Due to the nature of the show, the characters are extremely relateable. I especially love Kumatani and Kikaku.
If your on the same side of anime tiktok that I am then you have definitely seen/heard snippets of the dub.
I think this was the first anime that I originally watched in sub and then tried it in dub and actually enjoyed it. (I often find that whatever I originally watched it in is the only one I can watch it in - it's very difficult for me to change it)
The voice acting on both sides just works perfectly for the show. And that final episode and how they did it was the best thing ever.
Please just give it a try.
3
Angel Beats
Okay. Time for a hard hitter. This comedy like assassintaion classroom is fucking excellent but will make you cry, like damn.
In complete and utter contrast to No game no life, this was the second anime I had ever watched. I had found a video that gave some suggestions and thought I would give this one a try. When I say it destoryed me, I mean it literally. I constantly think about the end of this and I absolutely love revisiting it.
The twist and turns along the way are fascinating and I love how each one alters the characters and the narrative. Each of the characters feel unique - even the lesser developed side characters - with fascinating and complex backstories.
The whole thing just makes you question your own place in life.
2
Moriarty the Patriot
Another one I just randomly tried because I saw a video on tiktok. The first episode immediately pulled me in. I thought it was just going to be some simple detective story (At the time I didn't know much about Sherlock Holmes and who Moriaty was so I didn't have any of that to guide me into this story.) But nope.
I keep saying this but in this one I really mean it. The characters are built so well. The dichotomy between William and Sherlock - as the fandom would probably agree - is just amazing. How they bounce off of each other - i don't even know how to really descirbe it.
Honestly just go watch it.
And if you enjoyed the anime - please go check out the manga too. If the anime was done well - then the manga is done to lamost perfection.
This show was what got me into reading and then eventually buying manga. I now have every single one that is out.
1
Yuri!!! on ICE
Did I make the title gay? Yes.
Okayyyyy. This is just going to be me going on about how much I love this show. Bare with me.
So I was in an anime watching slump just before I picked up this show. I had been seeing some videos popping up talking about it and decided to give it a try (this was in 2020)
I immediately fell in love with this show. Literally everything about it. I ended up rewatching it three times over the course of a week. It got to a point where I was so upset that there wasn't more content for it that I just cried for half a day. (Ask my partner - it was chaos)
This show is the reason I now read fanfiction - all because I found a way to technically have more content for it.
This show holds such an important place in my heart that I sincerely cannot express it properly.
If you've never watched it - go give it a try. It would mean a lot - and hopefully one day we might get a season two.
----
Thanks for reading, if you managed to get to this point. I find it interesting how my explanations managed to slowly get shorter throughout the list as I just started becoming more emotional than factual.
I hope you enjoyed it and maybe grabbed a recommendation or two. If you'd like to know more or hear me ramble on more about anything in particular then please let me know.

Do you mind if I ask your top 10 favorite characters (can be male or female) from all of the media that you loved (can be anime/manga, books, movies or tv series)? And why do you love them? Sorry if you've answered this question before.....Thanks...
It’s no problem, I love answering questions like these!!! But also that’s a RRREAALLLYYYY hard question for me bc it changes depending on what I’m currently obsessed with lollll and it’s even harder for me to rank from least favorite to favorite so,,, if you don’t mind I’m just gonna keep it to anime/games and list like off the top of my head in no particular order!! If that’s ok:
-Yusuke from YYH (I’m a sucker for the “punk guy with a heart of gold” trope and also the first episode/chapter where he shows up to his own funeral and gets shocked at how much everyone misses him is like,,, the only anime/manga scene that actually makes me cry lmfao. It added a lot more depth to his character as well and I thought it was cool that Togashi managed all that in literally the first volume)
-Illumi from HxH (his design is iconic and I just think he’s cool. It’s honestly mostly the design… I wanted to only do one character per series for this post but Chrollo and Kite are also up there)
-Jolyne from JJBA (funny, badass and kinda relatable in a way??? Like I’m not very confrontational at all but somehow I just. Get her. I also love the way she speaks lmao)
-Spike from Cowboy Bebop (Looking at my blog theme I bet you could never guess! there’s a lot of reasons I like him but to keep it brief I just think he’s very fun to analyze bc his character is so complex if that makes sense?? Also he’s hot which is a bonus)
-Ginko from Mushi-shi (just seems like a cool dude!! Helpful and knowledgeable)
-Vash from Trigun 1998 (How can you NOT like him,,, I immediately liked him since his intro in episode one lmao. Forever mourning the loss of his accent in the 2023 version)
-N from Pokémon (This one’s the hardest to explain for some reason but tbh I just think that he’s cool! His backstory and mannerisms are really interesting and as a Pokémon fan it’s nice to see when they get really creative with the human characters! Also keeping true to my one character per series rule here but Guzma and Team Skull as a whole are also hilarious and I love them)
-Majima from Yakuza (specifically the version from 0, but I like all of them. He just makes me laugh lmao which is super fun!! But he also shows that he’s actually a very respectable guy on a lot of occasions, which bumped him up for me. Oh also his intro in 0 IS SO GOOD)
-Klavier from Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney (I’m ngl I just think he’s hot but also he made me laugh a lot… and it was always just generally really fun/interesting whenever you got to talk to him in game)
-Otacon from MGS (Like a lot of other characters on this list it just started with him being really funny. I mean come on you really can’t beat a character introduction where you hype the dude up to be this super serious science hacker guy, and then when you finally meet him he pisses his pants and rants to you about anime… Aside from that his codec calls are really fun, Otasune is a good ship, and his character development as he ages is also interesting)

Brotherhood in Stampede & Wolfwood as Kite
I love Trigun, it’s one of my favorite things, but thematically it is a bit of a mess. I think this is just par for course when you’re releasing something serially, like manga in magazines. Nightow didn’t set out knowing exactly where everything would go. He had a direction and the rest fell into place in the process, and some things didn’t get the time at all (when did Elendira join Knives?).
Stampede, despite its flaws, is all about these themes. It sets out to revisit Trigun under a lens of siblings. Stampede is about Knives and Vash first, and everything else is extra, rejecting the original which buried the lede on Knives for quite a while. Where does this put Vash and Wolfwood? I think it’ll be hard to say where their relationship ends up when it’s clear that the brotherhood angle is the thematically important one, and Wolfwood’s brother is Livio. (I’m praying that Elendira and Legato will be arranged in a similar way, as siblings.)
My jaw dropped in episode 7 when he puts his hands on this pressure release valve, taking on the role of Kite in the sand steamer arc in the manga volume 1.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
To me this act changed everything about what I knew about Wolfwood. For Kite, this act is desperate and foolhardy, but done out of a desperate need to protect the things he cares about and make up for his mistakes. He does it to rescue his father’s sand steamer, but Wolfwood is doing it to rescue the orphanage itself.
Merging Wolfwood into Kite is a reminder that this Wolfwood is a child.
In the manga, Wolfwood is recruited by the Eye of Michael as a boy, told he’ll be “fixing up churches,” then trained to kill using stuff that speeds his metabolism. The manga is vague about his age but Wolfwood says he left the orphanage six years ago, so it’s reasonable to conclude that he’s eighteen or twenty. In Stampede, he could be as young as twelve. We don’t know how long it’s been, but it can’t have been very long. Wolfwood and Livio are both children in the bodies of adults.
This doesn’t actually change Wolfwood’s character much between the manga and Stampede. Wolfwood was always too young for his work, manga Wolfwood is just more weary and experienced. Stampede!Wolfwood has already come to terms with doing terrible things out of obligation, but it now has everything to do with Livio himself rather than the orphanage children as a whole. In my other post I noted that Wolfwood and Zazie talk to ingratiate themselves to Vash, which takes on a different light when you consider that Wolfwood is putting on his strong big brother Niconii persona in the performance.
I’m really interested to see where the bond between Vash and Wolfwood will go, considering all of this. Wolfwood’s arc in Stampede has played in fast-forward. Wolfwood was helpless and relying on Vash before Vash could depend on him for much of anything. The balance is already out of wack. I can’t wait to see what they do next.

Trigun Stampede ep 4-7
-THIS CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR ALL OF TRIGUN-
✨Character thoughts time✨
1. Wolfwood my boy, my lord, my baby girl is back and all is well.
2. He feels very loyal to his original character I like it
3. Him and Vash are back on their buuullllshit
5.LIVIO!!!! He made it in!!! He was never in the original anime!!!
6. I’m glad that the full story of wolfwood is getting put out there and all but it is kind of making the series feel incredibly rushed
7. I like the character development that Meryl is getting so far and her move from bystander to involved
8. I was so absolutely not expecting Zazie the beast this early in, and he’s got a much longer, more involved role
9. Legato you blue bastard I hate you. But I’m untested to see if we’ll get him original backstory and motivators that didn’t make it into the old anime like we got wolf woods
10. This version of Vash isn’t nearly as goofy and the og and I kind of miss it. He has his moments and I like his character but it feels a little sad
11. They did not need to make Monev the gales backstory that fucking sad, I have yet to recover and suspect I never will
12. Vash communicating with the plant had me in tears, I don’t know why, but it was indescribably touching. Especially with the way he turned to the others and looked shell shocked
General thoughts about the episodes now
1. Making the sand worms a bigger thing and problems is really really cool tbh
2. The fact that the “spacefaring age” is more common knowledge and talked about really opens up so many possibilities. I hope we still get the old colony in the sky still
3. A whole sandsteamer episode and no Kite I’m upset
4. THEY HAVE THE BAD LADS GANG BUT NONE OF OUR LOTD AND SAVIOR BRILLIANT DYNAMITE NEON???? THE AUDACITY
5. The sandstorm was a minor(?) plot point in the original so I’m curious as to what they are going ti do with it in this
6. There’s a lot of characters I miss but I think they’re are doing a good job with this version tbh

i thought tristamp ep 7 was goofy, but it sucks they did all that on the steamship. im not actually going to compare tristamp to the 90s anime, since that arc was the first part of the anime i was aware of not liking as i watched, but when i read the manga i was like "oh, this actually has a point... and is good!" Early trigun eps before knives is introduced w his gung ho guns, there were a good amount of normal antagonists, corrupt officials, bounty hunters, bandits, etc., and the series did give off a vibe of redemption for characters, but it cut out a few significant moments (im not really sure why tbh, maybe to stretch the anime out more?),
but here w vash implying smth abt his own origins:
Tumblr media
we've got some nice mentions of rem:
Tumblr media
mr neon guy mentions july, this disaster concerning vash is foreshadowed, and they have an honor bound duel, neon guy backing down from killing vash when he was weak:
Tumblr media
vash does his angel stuff, the series revealing the plant (which either the anime did in the ep before or later when him and wolfwood save that girl??)
Tumblr media
and i think the original anime made it a bit less meaningful removing these moments, but stampede somehow feels like it does the opposite? they add some of these moments, but its now without meaning. stampede feels like its forgotten people exist on no man's land/gunsmoke, so kite's not there, and he's not one of the early characters changing. vash's ideals and pov implying hes different (not fancy glowing markings show up on his face) dont happen/ its not subtle. july hasnt happened yet in stampede, but the bad lad gang are without a leader in stamped and... dont do anything, neon guy was significant as a person on the planet, a wacky antagonist, but not as extreme as one of knives' minions, being able to stand down and command his men to do the same. vash is able to interact w the plant in stampede, but it seems like theres no reason for it, unless it just has the ability to put on the breaks, as opposed to powering the ship before, i can say a whole lot more abt the change from an angelic appearance, but that's for a different post lol. the choice for ep 6/7 to take so much from this arc in the series is just incredibly strange... esp if u think abt the timing. i can say its goofy, but also it makes no sense

Okay, going to start posting the Best Of for my Trigun/TriMax notes by volume. Note that this was my second time reading Trigun and all reactions are off-the-cuff; any hindsight-based commentary will be in italics. Also, there may be CWs I missed, but I did try to note things as I went.
Trigun Notes: Volume One
Trigun #1.1: The $$60 Billion Double Dollar Man
Injuries 603, murders 72, oof.
“This week’s satellite” like radio reports as a primary news method?
Screaming at the fact that he knew they didn’t have bullets and basically dared them to shoot him.
Trigun #1.2: Looney Tunes
Meryl: talking loud enough will give me authority, right
“More than 50 of our plants have died” due to a system bug…LOT of plants [Note: I do still wonder if they meant individual plants, because they seem a lot rarer in later adaptations. Then again, this is only the second chapter, so it might just be a continuity issue?]
Trigun #1.3: Hard Puncher
Stop backseat dueling y‘all, he knows what he’s doing
This man can do full splits after 100+ years, damn lmao
“Officially designated a localized disaster” is the FUNNIEST resolution and IDK why the ‘98 anime didn’t keep that
“Very nice to meet you” “Likewise, I think” LOL
Trigun #1.4: Popo
Mild CW for this chapter, but one character lies about having been sexually abused.
“How long do you intend to follow me?” “Until we retire, probably” “Okay, perfect *runs*"
“That was more than I deserved, maybe” Lot to unpack there, buddy!
Trigun #1.5: Assault
“They sure are good (especially that big one)” Milly supremacy
“You’re like those people from the big fall over 100 years ago. A nice person” So kindness is seen as a legit rarity here
Brilliant Dynamites Neon sure is a gang leader name
Trigun #1.6: Die Hards
Meryl + Milly coming out of the dark to beat up some dudes = SO ominous lmao
“I’m gonna need all the empty spots in my soupy brain” Oh, mood.
Vash using tough love on Kite = always hilarious
Trigun #1.7: Rem
Vash smiling sheepishly after he beats a guy in a fight…angel man…
“You’re far too easy on the whole human race” Kite citing everyone’s sins and Vash responding with “Then start all over again. [...] Your ticket to the future is always blank.” AHHHHH
“He’s got a helluva arm and the devil’s luck.” Just gunslinger things.
Trigun #1.8: Duelist
No bodies found at July, even with the city leveled; Vash doesn’t remember anything but the aftermath. [Note: At the time I thought this was the same thing as how in the '98 anime there weren't any casualties but...nope............TriMax made it worse.]
Trigun #1.9: Between the Wasteland and Sky…
Meryl: eff it, retail therapy
“Do your nerves even work?” Yes, but his baseline pain levels are a 4, so…
“You’re glorious, sister” right when he called her a brat earlier, lmao
Heart/breathing DO synchronize, because his vitals stop when hers do–wings not visible between panels, maybe representative of the Plant recognizing Vash as a sibling? [Note: could be reading that wrong, though]
“Maybe this is what it means for people to go on living. This must be what she believed, why she traded her life for everyone else’s!” So he’s still struggling with that as a concept, oof.
Trigun #1.11: Son
“People do say that strangers’ faces all cook the same” Oh, Milly
People: betray their families Milly: Chooses violence
Father makes the point that Morgan only wants the land to have it but won’t cultivate or respect it; Badwick more worried about his parents’ safety [Note: Honestly you could easily read an environmental theme into parts of Trigun with very little effort.]
“Guns are our second-to-last resort” Ma’am what is your last resort???
Trigun #1.12: River of Life
“This is not the time to come apart like this. Fight, Meryl!” My girl!!!
“What are you gonna do with a derringer and a stun gun?” “Would you care to find out?” YES, BITCH
Meryl’s “?????” at her gun = classic
Theme of trusting others even if you don’t understand or agree with their path, believing in others in a family setting–ohh, hurts a bit in light of Wolfwood and Knives!!!
