The Korean Vegan is one of my favorite cookbooks. Last night's dinner featured its Spicy and Crunchy Garlic Tofu, it's so good!
(served with white rice, roasted green beans, and roasted blue bell squash)

This scene. I generally have to skip scenes that romanticize animal imprisonment by taking place in aquariums/zoos and I was dreading that they this show would head the same way.
It was a very pleasant surprise to see them take a different route and speak about the cruelty against whales. The show also goes on to talk about the horrific whale hunting practices and how the baby whale is hunted first in order to capture the mother whale who is known to never abandon her child.

The frozen fish comment made me so bitter because first they will kidnap an animal (whale) from their natural environment and imprison them and then feed them with other animals (fish) who have also been kidnapped and taken from their homes and finally killed. So many lives ruined and for what? For humans to enjoy a 5 minute stroll down an unnatural environment that captures and imprisons marine animals who are supposed to live in the vast oceans? What does that do except normalize cruelty?

This Korean-style 🌶️ spicy tofu and vegetable stir-fry https://www.everyveganrecipe.com/recipe/spicy-korean-stir-fry.html?mtm_campaign=srecipe_042023&mtm_medium=social&mtm_source=tumblr is a protein-rich and flavorful dish with a deep and complex heat, balanced with maple syrup and toasted sesame oil. Served over brown rice, this makes a delicious lunch or dinner, and a great option for weekly meal prep.
