Can I please have some facts about Coraline?
Wow,I never thought someone would be interested! I gathered a few fun facts, and while I’m sure they’re easy to spot, these are fun to tell to the new viewers:
•To start it off,the movers who were unpacking Coralines family furniture were modeled and named after Joe and Jerome Ranft, who worked on Nightmare Before Christmas:
•The dollar that was handled over to them has the image of Henry Selick on it,director of Coraline:
•Wybie Lovat is not part of Neil Gaiman’s novel-he was created so that Coraline won’t talk to herself( in the book we read about her thoughts, but it’s much harder to do so in film).
•The medal of Mr Bobynsky is real one: it was awarded to the Chornobyl disaster liquidators(fun fact:the power plant is called ChOrnobyl, not ChErnobyl since it was built in Ukraine,so Ukrainian spelling style applies). His exposure to radiation explains Bobynsky’s blue skin and unwell mind:
•The “jumping mice” are also real. They are native to the south of United States:
•During Coralines first encounter with Other Mother, when she asks Beldam what rain is she talking about,we see a quick appearance of lightning which looks suspiciously like a hand. This is not a coincidence, as the hand is closely associated with the witch (this sign appears in the cup during the foreshadowing of Spink and Forcible; her severed hand chases the heroine at the end of the movie):
•It’s a pretty well known fact, but on the cake itself we see that “home” in “Welcome home” has an “o” written with a double loop, which according to pseudoscience called graphology means that the person who wrote it is lying. Thus,Coraline is welcomed but it isn’t her home:
•Here’s my own little theory: each time Coraline crawls through the tunnel to another world, it dims, until all the colors disappear and the true essence of the pathway is revealed - a cobweb with children’s toys in it(a trap for kids). Now it might be just a trick of light, but it’s interesting to think about nevertheless:
•The audience gets hints of Beldams fairy/witch nature throughout the film; the first time is when Coraline finds a well surrounded by a circle of mushrooms, which in the beliefs of many people was associated with fairies who lured people into them(sounds familiar?).The second time is when she was given a stone with a hole in it by Spink and Forcible. This rock is often called Hag stone, and is believed to serve as a protection against evil spirits. It is also believed that you can see through the guise of a witch by looking through the hole(exactly what Coraline did to find the eyes of missing children):
•Now,the bug theme in Coraline is really prevalent, and later in the movie we can see that Other Mother is heavily associated with spiders.Meanwhile Coraline has similar thing going on-she wears hairpin resembling dragonfly, who are known for eating spiders.Because of this, the game of predator and prey is turned on its head:
That’s it for now, hope these were interesting for you!

Hey are you okay you've been laikaposting
I am not!!!! I am not okay!!! Why did they do that to her!!!!! What the fuck does a dog care about science and progress and exploration!! What does any of that mean to a dog!!! Less than a warm bed!! Less than a scratch behind the ear!! Less than being loved!!!! She got in that pod because she TRUSTED them and they sent her off to bake to death!!! In space!!! Space seems like such a cold place to die. Especially for a dog. A million miles from anyone to call her a good girl or pet her fur or throw a ball for her. They had no plan in place to bring her back!! They sent her out there Knowing they were leaving her to die and they did it anyway!!! Yeah yeah "she advanced science she was a necessary sacrifice she was a hero" SHE NEVER WANTED TO BE A HERO!!!! SHE WANTED A WARM BED AND A FULL BELLY!!! SHE WANTED TO BE LOVED!!!

► + Sagitta, say something in a stereotypical cowgirl!
"Minotaurs are cowgirls! They are-"
"Actually, they're referring to..."
Whisper whisper whisper.
"I-I've never heard of such human speech before. But since it's a command I can't simply ignore, I shall... attempt to imitate their speech pattern."
So she cleared her throat and...
"H-Howdy, partner. S-Still up for a good kickin'?" She even tried imitating the Southern accent.

7 and 8 for general!
BG3 COMPANION!TAV ASK LIST
(BG3 spoilers below!)
7. Do they have their own personal quest that spans the course of the game? Can it take different branching paths depending on the choices the Player Character makes?
She does have a personal quest as I envision her as an origin companion. I haven't hammered out all the details, but similarly to Shadowheart, it’s about either rejecting or embracing what her patron asks of her. This is the first time in twenty years that Laika has been without his influence, and she’s very much enjoying it. You can push her to reconcile with Cthulhu which makes her more powerful at the cost of her morals (such as they are) and freedom. If you push her to break her pact, she will end up free and happy, but powerless. Her connection with her patron in this universe depends upon her already having a mostly dead mind flayer parasite in her brain, so to free her from her contract, you'll have to remove it. You can do so by destroying the brain at the end of the game.
Reconciliation, brain destroyed: Laika is punished for her failure to carry out Cthulhu’s will and is enslaved in his realm of R’lyeh for a thousand years.
Reconciliation, brain dominated: Laika siphons power from the brain in order to enact her patron’s will.
Removal, brain destroyed: Freed from her obligation to her patron, Laika is able to relax for the first time in two decades. She eventually continues to pursue magical knowledge, now in a less costly way. (I like the idea that depending upon how you play the game up to this point, she’ll have a different path. I can see her wanting to become a bard after rescuing Volo!)
Removal, brain dominated: After being promised that her connection would be severed but watching Tav refuse to do so, Laika leaves the party in disgust, hoping to find another way to break her contract.
Crown given to Raphael: If Laika is alive to see it, she’ll throw her lot in with him and become one of his warlocks. Switching her subclass huh…
8. What do they say when the Player Character asks them to stay in camp?
> I need you to stay behind at camp for now.
“And miss all the fun you’re having?”
> We’ll join up with you later.
“As long as you don’t run across anything interesting without me there to see it.”
How about when the Player Character asks them to come adventuring again?
> I need you in my party.
“Finally! Let me put away my book first…”

Dogblr Questions
#6: Did you grow up with dogs?
I did not! Ironically, I spent most of my childhood cynophobic. I briefly lived with a toy poodle, dachshund, and springer spaniel but didn't really become more comfortable with dogs until I met a GSD that my father's roommate owned and he didn't give a flying fuck I existed unless I had cheese and that worked lmao
#26: What's your dogs' favorite game to play inside?
Raven's favorite game inside is burying her own toy (usually a squeaky ball) under blankets, dog beds, etc then screaming at it and digging until she "finds" it to then toss for herself. Alternatively, yeeting massive buffalo horns and screaming at/punching them.
Kalfu's favorite, on the other hand, is literally anything involving food. So he has a variety of puzzles and feeders he can smack, flip, toss, lick, sniff, etc. He also loves finding tiny soft squeaky toys from the hide-and-seek type toys and running to the couch as fast as he can with it to death shake and nom.
#74: Share the first picture you saw/took of your dog
This was the first photo I saw of Raven! She's the one on the bottom right.
And the first photo of Kalfu <3
#75: Share your favorite picture of your dog
I have so many! If I had to pick...

I have to know who is the more strict parent over Coraline and wybie’s kids
Hello! As for their stages as being a Parents
They're BOTH strict, due to their experiences that gave them a terrible trauma that they'll gonna bring it subconciouslly into their practice
•Coraline reacts and expresses a lot when their kids did something unpleasant to her ears at first but by the end of the arguement, she'll calm down, understands and connects with her children more than Wybie
(Why? Well, she had parents, she can easily understood a child's perspective)
ON THE OTHER HAND-
•Wybie is a bit more of a passive-agressive when it comes to finally taking a strict decision, the kiddos must follow it. If he says No, DON'T DO IT. (And you should follow it)
(He's with his grandma and most of the time Mrs. Lovat was super strict with him, esp. from the movie of you see how he behaves towards his grandmother? He's scated as heck😂 whenever she calls him, he's pretty obedient.)
He won't change his mind not if there's no other reason, unless Coraline would discuss about it with him.
But he still kept that calm personality he had most of the time

7, 12, and 13 for Darius? :D (@comfycozycirrus)
Omg I am so sorry @comfycozycirrus I didn't see this until I was about to sleep yesterday and I was too tired to respond vnskxn
7. Who makes the other laugh more?
Surprisingly, Laika does! Since they've known each other for a long time, she got a pretty in depth idea about his somewhat "odd" sense of humor. That being said it's not always outright laughter, normally just a small chuckle. Still counts!
12. Who's more protective?
Darius 1000%. I can't super go into the whys, as a lot of them has to do with the Laika story I've been writing, but do know that he's basically been burned before when it comes to loved ones being hurt. Actually, after a specific moment in my story, he becomes a bit too protective for like 2 months haha
13. How do they express their feelings (Words, visual art, a song, etc.)?
Darius expresses his love with actions, affection, and gifts. For example, Darius often does a small squeeze when holding Laika's hand, a silent "I love you." Also, being real, he definitely has a lot of money. He will always get gifts, mostly clothing, but for Laika there's also a plush thrown in every now and then. He's not the greatest with his words, he never was, but he does still say I love you, just not as often as the hand squeeze thing. Also nicknames. Nicknames for everyone.
Laika shows her love mostly through words, actions, and affection. She gives Darius a bunch of kisses throughout the day, does small favors or chores around the house or workspace, and says I love you a whole bunch. Leaving the room? "Be right back! Love you!" Thanking him? "Thanks! I love you!" It's everywhere. Sometimes for some people he'll make them a special little song + illusion combo.
Ask game
