Some Venus ideas
seriously debating on adding Venus to FW so here's some early designs. (like i'm not sure i'll keep the eyebrow marks, they look kinda funky at times). Mostly b/c them having another sister would be adorable. And it would piss Draxum off, which would be hilarious (for reasons i'll explain.)
some more about her under the cut. But it's mostly just random brainstorming i did at 3am
18 yo (3 years older than Raph)
Mutated Ornate Wood Turtle (using some of Lou's DNA.) (so no spider traits.)
Technically their Half sister since Big Mama's not her mother. (not that that will stop Mama from mothering her. She'd get her own room in the hotel and everything : ) )
Was mutated 'first' to test the mutagen.
She was 5 when the boys were mutated.
Venus got misplaced during resulting explosion. eventually found and taken in by the Library Bats. Which is exactly what pisses off Draxum b/c he knows exactly where she is but the bats refuse to give her back to him lol. And no one messes with the bats. (he's got thrown into the kiddy room several times for trying lol)
she's very quiet, shy, and very anxious about and unsure how to socialize with people in general. (✨social anxiety✨)
I don't think she's much of a fighter. like at all. Pretty sure the only way she would fight would be mystics (ie standing in the back taking magic missile esc pot shots wizard style.) she might actually be more of a pacifist than anything. I'm getting the feeling that she wants little to do with fighting or violence personally. Like she wouldn't judge her siblings on it, but she doesn't want to participate. (the only exception being that if someone/thing is hurting said siblings. b/c once she's emotionally attached to those kids, anything seriously trying to hurt her siblings do not get the luxury of her just standing by.)
that's about it.
and a meme about how thoroughly this au is going off track.

As You Wish, Chapter 9
Tumblr media
Summary: When arriving at Camp Silver Star, Abby Floyd was anticipating a summer of adventure with an ocean separating her from the three people she loved most: her mom, her Uncle Bob and her Aunt Natasha. But after a run in with Charlie Seresin, an extremely familiar looking and irritating camper in a different cabin, her summer plans take a turn that neither girl ever could have expected.
Trigger Warnings: reader's children are described as being blond with green eyes because genetics are wild and Jake's genes are strong, reader is canonically Bob's sister (but biological relation is never discussed), reader goes by Buttercup and is tattooed, poor military references, references to cancer and chemotherapy, cursing, preteen shenanigans, anxiety

32nd Street Naval Station, 13 years ago
Jake’s gulp was the only movement he made as he lined up amongst the other aviators and sailors, on solid ground again for the first time in six months. It was sweltering hot in San Diego and even the lightweight material of his khaki uniform did nothing to prevent the sweat from dripping down his neck. All he wanted was to get changed into some shorts and a t-shirt and grab a beer at the Hard Deck, knowing he would be reuniting with the other members of Dagger Squad after half a year away.
He, Javy, Bob and Phoenix had been deployed together, thank god, but he was anxious to see everyone else, a thought that would have rocked him back on his heels even a year ago. He still wasn’t known as the greatest team player they had, but he had surprised even himself when he had bonded with the other aviators he was stationed at Top Gun with. Payback’s wife had been expecting when they left, Fanboy’s mom going through chemo, while Rooster was left to run training simulations with Maverick, and Jake wanted to hear about all of it.
Yet, he was left standing in formation as those around him started to disperse, their family members and friends tapping them out. Jake allowed himself a little sigh as he saw people searching left and right for their loved ones. Once upon a time, his parents would have made the journey out to release him from his duties, but they were older and more hesitant to fly now. He knew his grandfather would have made the trip from Texas, but he hadn’t even mentioned it to the man. Jake straightened his shoulders. Hopefully, Javy’s mama had made the trip. Auntie Thea loved Jake almost as much as he loved her, and he knew that she would tap him out if she saw him standing there.
His shoulders almost drooped when Stella, the tattoo artist Javy had been seeing for a few weeks before deployment, approached and nearly tackled his best friend. Shit. There went that plan. Natasha’s sister had already tapped her out, the two of them smiling back at him teasingly as they strolled away, leaving Jake and Bob standing there amongst the other crewmen who hadn’t been found by their loved ones. While it wasn’t necessarily a big deal, and while he knew that Nat would feel like shit and apologize if she found out he was the last one standing there on the tarmac, a heavy weight settled over his heart. There was nothing more disheartening than to realize you had nobody to welcome you home after six months at sea.
“Bobby!”
Jake almost winced. Even shy, quiet Bob Floyd had someone there who cared about him. He watched out of the corner of his eye as the woman—the beautiful woman, too beautiful for Baby On Board Floyd to be able to pull—hugged the WSO tightly, officially releasing him from his duties.
“Hey kiddo,” he heard Bob say softly, hugging the woman gently. “How’ve you been?”
“Excited to have finally finished my masters,” she shrugged. “And looking forward to getting to spend some time with my big brother before diving into the post-grad job search. So, how was it? I know you can’t tell me much, but how was it?”
Bob chuckled softly. “Let’s just say, I’m glad to be home.”
“I’m glad you’re back too,” she replied, giving him a slight nudge as he bent to pick up his gear. “So, what’s the plan for tonight?”
“I think the squad is planning on getting drinks tonight at the Hard Deck,” he offered as he shuffled his bag onto his shoulder. “They’re probably already there. Well, most of them, anyway.”
“Why most of them?” she asked as they slowly started to walk away. “Did some of your other friends get deployed too?”
Bob shook his head as they passed in front of Jake, lowering his voice. “I don’t think so. Some of us are still waiting to get tapped out, though.” Bob shot Jake an apologetic glance, and his friend followed his gaze.
“Is he one of your friends?” she asked quietly. Jake’s eyes strained against the sunlight as he stared dead ahead, trying to look as nonchalant as possible as the tarmac grew more and more empty.
“I guess you could say that,” Bob murmured. “That’s Hangman.”
“Ohhh…” Jake could almost imagine the dawning of realization on the woman’s face as she remembered the less than flattering stories Bob had undoubtedly shared with her. “I’ll be right back.”
Jake blinked as the woman appeared right in front of him, smiling softly. “Do you not have anyone to tap you out, Hangman?” she asked quietly, eyes soft and bright. Jake couldn’t bring himself to look away. “Oh right, you’re not supposed to break formation or talk or anything until you’re tapped out, right?” She placed a warm hand on Jake’s shoulder, and he allowed himself to relax. “There. That’s better.”
“Thank you, ma’am,” he murmured, bending to grab his bag.
Bob stepped closer. “Hangman, this is my sister.”
She rolled her eyes and offered him her hand, stating her name with a smile. “I’m pretty sure introducing me as his sister was supposed to be some sort of warning for you not to mess with me,” she whispered slyly to him, sticking her tongue out at her brother as he sighed.
“I would never, ma’am,” he smirked over at Bob and lowered his head over her hand, kissing the warm, silky skin softly.
“I already regret everything,” Bob muttered as the three started walking towards the parking lot.
She grinned at him, and Jake felt something inside himself stir. It wasn’t often that the mere sight of a pretty smile gave him that feeling in his chest, but something about Bob Floyd’s sister smiling at him made his heart feel like he had just run back-to-back marathons.
“So, Hangman, do you have a ride to this Hard Deck place?” she asked as they approached a rental convertible.
He found himself smiling back at her. Not his signature smirk or his flirty grin, but an actual Seresin Smile. “No, ma’am, I don’t. And please, call me Jake.”
“Jake…” the sound of his name on her lips made something in his brain short out, and he found himself wanting to get to know everything he could about this woman beside him.
The dopey smile on his face must have given him away because Bob groaned again. “I really regret everything.”

Hotel Zaza, Downtown Austin, Texas, Now
The days after their Zoom call had been hectic, to say the least. Bob had been able to coordinate flights that would put them in Austin Friday night, so they could be ready for their meeting on Saturday afternoon. Rooster had kept in contact with Natasha and given her the name of the hotel that Savannah had insisted they stay at, because it was her number one choice for a wedding venue. Buttercup’s agent had been able to get them adjoining rooms in the hotel, pulling the ‘fairly famous and well-off author’ card when the hotel had balked at the last-minute reservation.
Charlie was immensely grateful for her aunt and uncle organizing their trip, because she had spent the days between the call and the flight getting to know her mother, as Charlie this time, not as Abby. It was even more wonderful than getting to know her the first time, and she felt a bit silly about her fears that her mother wouldn’t love her if she wasn’t Abby. If anything, Buttercup’s adoration for her had only grown once Charlie had started acting more like herself. They had spent the whole flight to Texas chatting and giggling, watching old movies and sharing stories about their lives. By the time they disembarked in Texas, Charlie felt even closer to her mother than she had before.
Now, however, she was seeing a brand-new side to her mother, one that she wasn’t even sure Abby had seen before.
Buttercup’s hands were folded tightly under her chin as she surveyed the contents of her suitcase, her weight was shifting back and forth, and her breath was coming in short gasps.
“I-I don’t see why it matters what I wear, Nat,” she murmured, her wide eyes scanning over the clothes that had been neatly tucked into her rose gold case. “It’s just my ex-husband, his new fiancée, and my daughter.”
“Because it’s your ex-husband,” Nat replied with an eye roll. “Pull a Princess Di and revenge dress the shit out of him!”
“Language,” Buttercup murmured, though there was no real heat behind the warning. “It doesn’t matter anyway, Nat.”
“Then why’re you shaking in your boots?”
Buttercup backed up and slumped into one of the armchairs in the suite. The room was sheer opulence, large and clean and beautiful in a way that Charlie had never seen before. She had to hand it to her, Savannah sure knew how to pick her potential venues.
“Because I haven’t seen him for over a decade and he stopped answering my calls about the custody arrangement and now he’s getting married to someone who is arguably way too young for him and here I am, still single and unable to recognize that our daughters swapped places!”
Natasha sighed, but Charlie stepped in front of her mother before her aunt could say anything. “It’s going to be okay, mom,” she said. “Abby and I will be there, and so will Uncle Bob and Auntie Nat, and Uncle Roo and Uncle Javy.”
Buttercup chuckled tearily. “Look at you, Charlie. Talking me down.” She sniffled. “I’m sorry, honey. I need to pull myself together. You don’t need to be parenting me.”
Charlie giggled. “I’m not. I’m just telling you what you told me when I was freaking out about the lecture I’m probably gonna get from Dad.”
Buttercup giggled and pulled Charlie into a hug. “I love you, baby.”
“I love you too, mom,” Charlie pulled away. “Why don’t you pick something that makes you feel good to wear? That way you feel confident when you see dad again?”
Buttercup grinned. “I like the way you think, honey.”
Standing up, Buttercup moved to her suitcase and dug around, eventually pulling out a lacy green dress with a gold chain belt.
“I wore this to my first book signing,” Buttercup grinned. “Forest Windows won a Women’s Prize for Fiction that year, and I’ve considered it my lucky dress ever since.”
“I think it’s perfect,” Charlie smiled.
Nat grinned. “It’s no LBD, but you look hot in it, and that’s all that matters.”
Buttercup rolled her eyes and stepped into the bathroom. “Thanks, Nat. I’m going to shower and get dressed. Did your father text you to say that he had arrived yet?”
Charlie shook her head. “No…he didn’t. I’ll check in with Abby and see what their ETA is.”
“Sounds good,” Buttercup smiled, the tug of her lips still strained but not as stressed. “I’ll be out in a bit.”
Once the door had clicked shut and they could hear the water running, Natasha turned on her.
“Your dad still has no idea, right?”
Charlie nodded quickly. “Abby, Javy, and Rooster have kept him and Savannah in the dark. Dad still thinks he’s with me, and he has no idea that we’re waiting for him here.”
Natasha nodded grimly. “Your mom’s gonna be in there for a bit, hyping herself up. What’s Abby’s ETA?”
“They’re five minutes out,” Charlie confirmed, checking her phone again to check Abby’s shared location.
“Okay. You go down and meet up with Abby, away from where your dad can see you, okay?”
Charlie rolled her eyes. “Yeah, I know, Auntie Nat. That was my part of the plan.”
Natasha playfully shuddered. “You’ve got so much of Hangman’s attitude in you, it’s spooky sometimes. I’ll go let your uncle know to keep your mom occupied in the room until we give him the signal, then I’ll head down and be ready to run interference if I have to. Ready?”
Charlie’s heart leapt. “Ready.”
Tumblr media
“…and then we have a meeting with the florist at 4 pm, and they’re a high-class place, so no mucky cowboy boots and jeans, okay, Jakey?”
Abby held back her gag as Savannah droned on about her wedding itinerary. She had been talking about it since they left the ranch over 3 hours ago. What should have been a 2-hour drive at most had stretched on because Savannah had to keep getting out and taking pictures to ‘document the experience’, and each time, Abby had to control her eye roll. It wasn’t worth it, and, besides, there were three things keeping her Zen.
1. She’d promised her dad that she would try to be accepting of Savannah. As upset as she and Charlie were about how he had handled things, and as much as Savannah turned her stomach, she wanted her dad to be happy, so she had agreed to grin and bear it for the duration of the visit.
2. Rooster and Javy were there, and while Rooster might have fallen asleep within minutes of hitting the road, Javy was awake and keeping her entertained with dramatic eye rolls and faux gagging every time Savannah opened her mouth. She wasn’t sure if her father had caught on to their antics or not, but Abby was sure having a good time.
And, most importantly, 3. Her family was waiting for them at the hotel. She would finally get to hug her mother and tease her aunt and uncle about all the stories Javy and Rooster had filled her in on.
Jake sighed and pulled into the parking lot of the hotel. “Yes, Savannah. I promise I will be dressed appropriately.”
“Thank you, sugar,” Savannah flounced and exited the car, leaving her two suitcases for her fiancé to unload.
“Dude, I—”
“I know what you’re about to say, Coyote, but don’t. Okay? Just…don’t start.”
Rooster yawned and sat up. “Sure, Hangman. Whatever you say. C’mon, kid. Let’s let your dad and Javy deal with the suitcases while we go check out the pool.”
“Is that okay, dad?”
Jake smiled tiredly and waved his hand at them. “Yeah, you two go have fun. I’ll catch you for dinner, which we are having with Savannah’s parents, okay?”
Abby smiled through her held back groan. “You got it, dad. See you in a bit!”
Grabbing Rooster’s hand, Abby practically dragged him through the lobby and into the elevator.
“Abby says they’re in room 513,” she said excitedly, and watched as her uncle jabbed the round elevator button with an elegant 5 painted on it.
“Are you sure Javy will be able to keep it together?” he asked her as the glass elevator sped upwards. “Dude’s been acting jumpy since we left.”
“He wouldn’t dare tell dad anything! He was trained just the same as you were, Uncle Roo. I’m sure he can keep it together for a little longer.”
The elevator came to a rest on the fifth floor and Abby practically sprinted through the slowly opening doors, hanging a right and skidding to a stop at room 513.
“Here goes!” Abby chirped as she knocked on the door. Her heart leapt as the door creaked open, revealing Bob, his phone pressed to his ear.
He smiled brightly when he saw her, and held up a long finger. “Yeah…yeah, I’ll call you back when I can, okay? Okay…me too. Bye.” He tapped the red button and crouched, Abby falling into his arms. “Hey kiddo.”
Abby’s chest expanded as she clutched her uncle. “Uncle Bob, I missed you so much!”
“I missed you too, kiddo.”
He stood, Abby still hanging onto his neck as he nodded over her shoulder at Rooster.
“Bradshaw.”
Rooster nodded back. “How’s it going, Bob? Where’s Nat and Charlie?”
“Downstairs, keeping a lookout for you.”
Rooster nodded as Bob finally put Abby down and reached out to shake his hand.
“We must’ve just missed ‘em,” Rooster mused, watching Abby as she ducked around Bob to glance around the room.
“Where’s Mum?”
“She’s in the adjoining room, kiddo. She might be having a bit of a panic attack right now, but I’m sure the sight of you will calm her down.”
Abby grinned up at the two men and bolted over to the door, tearing it open with a loud call of “Mum! It’s me!”
Bob chuckled as Rooster shook his head. “And I thought Charlie was high energy.”
Bob nodded as he pocketed his phone. “She is. I guess they both are.”
Rooster nodded and leaned back against the closed door, a heavy silence weighing over the two men. Once upon a time, they had been friends, allies, partners. Now, they were little more than strangers, two people roped into a scheme by two preteens.
“So, Nat’s downstairs?”
Bob nodded. “She and Charlie are trying to find a way to separate Hangman from this fiancée of his. Is she really as bad as Abby is making it out to be?”
Rooster shuddered. “Remember all the girls who would hang around the Hard Deck and try to flirt with anyone in a uniform?”
Bob nodded gravely, his skin crawling at the memory. “I do.”
“Savannah is about twenty times worse than that. Javy can’t stand her either.”
Bob blinked. “Is Javy downstairs too?”
Rooster nodded. “Yeah, why?”
“Do you think it’s a good idea to have him and Nat bump into each other downstairs?”
Rooster’s eyes widened, but, before he could speak, Abby raced back into the room. “Uncle Bob, Mum’s not in there.”
Bob blinked again. “Are you sure?”
Abby rolled her eyes. “Of course I’m sure, Uncle Bob.”
Bob’s cellphone was back in his hand, pressed to his ear after a quick dial. “Yeah, it’s me. Where are you? I thought you were still getting ready?...Really? Buttercup—” Bob pulled the phone away from his ear and stared at it. “She hung up on me.”
“What did she say?”
“She went to go get a steamer from the lobby for her dress. She didn’t want to wear something wrinkled.”
“And she couldn’t have gotten someone to deliver it to the room?”
Bob shrugged at Rooster’s question. “She probably needed some air.”
It was Abby’s turn to dig her phone out of her pocket and dial. “Charlie? Yes, we’re here with Uncle Bob, but Mum is heading down to the lobby right now! You and Auntie Nat need to run interference!”

'cold turkey' but i rewrote it - part two!
summary: the festivities have begun! but you forgot the drinks. whoops. wc: 2k+ a/n: I almost cut this short at like a thousand words but I knew in my SPIRIIITT that I wanted to add more twists and turns to this thing. It's a bit rushed but let's just say I'm very glad I did! if you feel like it: comment your favorite holiday-related dishes :) part one part two
“Traffic was nuts today,” your older sister Alanna sighed as she hauled a carton full of cans of soda over to the kitchen. She looked up and saw Miles, who smiled and gave her a quick wave. “Oh my god, Miles?”
“One and only,” he replied. “Been a minute, ain’t it?”
The woman set the carton down on the floor. “When did you get so big? You're taller than me!”
Miles shrugged. “Growth spurt.”
“Alright then, nice seeing you,” Alanna turned and joined you on the couch with that glint in her eye and smirk that appeared only when she was scheming. “He’s mad cute now, right?”
You rolled your eyes and sighed, “ ‘Lana, no. Not happening.”
“Come on, I’ve seen the niggas you been with and he’s literally your type–”
“Can you lower your voice? He’s right there!” you yell-whispered.
You craned your neck to see if Miles was listening. His head was down, all focus seemingly directed towards cooking beans.
You turned back towards Alanna. “Anyway, he’s Jeff’s kid. I don’t want beef with Jeff or his mama if we break up. They literally live around the corner, do you know how awkward that’s gonna be?”
“So pessimistic,” Alanna’s lips were upturned into a pout. “How you just met him and you already imagining the breakup?”
“I’m being realisti–”
“The beans are done!” Miles’ voice interrupted.
You called out, “That’s great, thank you so much! I’ll see you later this evening?”
He emerged from the kitchen and began to put on his sneakers. “Yup, lookin’ forward to it,” he stood up and made direct eye contact with you as he smiled. “Good luck with med school.”
With that, Miles grabbed his jacket off of the hook by the entrance, and left.
Your sister watched the door shut behind him with a satisfied grin. “He likes you.”
“No he don’t,” you retorted, keeping your eyes glued to your socks. “You want him to like me.”
The image of fluttering lashes and the scar on his cheek returned to you. How Alanna could tell even without her knowing about that little encounter was a mystery.
“Well, either way, do what you want,” she rose from the couch with a sigh of resignation. “I’m just saying he seems sweet. Now, help me decorate, and I’ll let you make the playlist after.”
You perked up at the thought of having DJ privileges and hopped to your feet. “You got it!”
-
Only half an hour had passed since relatives and family friends began trickling in, but you were already exhausted. One more inescapable hug and barrage of questioning, and you swore you’d have a breakdown.
Ding dong!
“I’ll get it!” you announced, narrowly escaping being accosted by one of your aunts as you made a beeline for the door.
It was Miles again, this time with company.
“Welcome back,” you greeted Miles and stepped back to open the door wider. “Hey Mr. and Mrs. Morales!”
“Y/N! It’s been so long, tú eres tan guapa!” Rio Morales briefly took both of your hands in hers before entering, tugging Miles along with her.
Jefferson Morales was the last to go inside. His warm smile was a stark contrast to his wide, imposing frame. “I see Miles didn’t burn your kitchen down,” he laughed heartily. “He wasn’t too much trouble?”
Not in the way you were expecting.
You shook her head politely, “No, not at all! He even helped me finish dinner.”
Jefferson’s eyebrows shot up in surprise. “Well, that’s good to hear. We really appreciate the invite.”
“No problem,” you nodded as you shut the door.
“Y/N!” Alanna rushed up to you not a moment later, looking mildly panicked. “Do you remember where you put the drinks? The alcoholic ones, I mean.”
Your eyes widened. “Fuck, I think I forgot to buy them.”
“...Now, your mother was going to nursing school at the time, so she had to…”
Jefferson’s deep voice carried over the music, catching Alanna’s attention. He stood near the tin of mac and cheese telling a story that–judging by the look on Miles’ face–he had told several times before.
That same smirk from before spread across her lips. ‘Do what you want’, sure, but a little helpful push wouldn’t hurt.
“Miles, do you wanna help out Y/N again? She forgot to go out and buy drinks.”
He perked up, relief written all over his face. “Yeah, it’s no problem! I’ll drive her.”
You narrowed your eyes at your sister, but didn’t push back. “That’s cool with me. I’ll go get my sweater.”
-
You squeezed your fingers nervously as Miles turned the key and brought the car roaring to life.
What could you possibly say to him? ‘Hey, so we almost kissed earlier. Thoughts on that?’
“What kinda drinks y’all need?” his voice ripped you away from your thoughts as he pulled onto the road.
You didn’t answer, your eyes fixated on the motion of his hands spinning the wheel.
“Y/N?”
You blinked.
“Huh?”
“What kind of drinks are we looking for?”
“Oh, um, wine and cider and shit,” you waved a hand in the air, “Stuff that goes with turkey.”
“Cool.”
The ride was quiet, largely because you were busy racking your brain trying to think of something–anything–to fill the silence with. You’d already asked about school, and you knew Miles’ parents. But what about him?
He stopped at a red light, drumming his fingers on the wheel.
“So what do you do, like, outside of school?”
You winced. Small talk was not your forte.
Miles didn’t seem to mind though, appearing deep in thought before he answered, “I draw, when I got the time. Sing a little on the side.”
“I believe you. You look like you have a nice voice.”
An impish smile played on his lips. “Is that your way of saying I’m cute?”
“I…” the words were trapped in your throat. Part of you didn’t want to tell him the truth outright, but he was smiling at you and the sparkle in his eyes made you feel funny.
“Maybe. Don’t get your hopes up, though.”
He raised an eyebrow. “So there’s a low, but non-zero chance.”
You snorted, “Alright, physics major. The light’s green.”
“Oh, shit. Thanks.” Miles focused his attention back onto the road and continued driving.
You didn’t say anything more for the remainder of the ride, but he caught you staring at him every now and then through the rear view mirror, curiosity written on your face.
Soon enough, he pulled over in front of the supermarket.
“Think you’ll find ‘stuff that goes with turkey’ in here?”
“I hope so,” you laughed, unbuckling your seat belt, “My sister’s gonna put me in the dirt if I don’t.”
“Well, good luck!”
Miles unlocked the door, and you set out on your mission.
Luckily, it only took you about twenty minutes to locate a bottle of moscato and some hard apple cider. Just as he saw you emerge from the double doors, though, a familiar buzzing in the back of his head tipped him off.
Really? On Thanksgiving?
A man wearing an inconspicuous black ski mask and hoodie stood waiting by the entrance, ready to strike.
“Yo, empty your pocke–”
Miles swung into action the moment he spotted the gleam of a firearm.
You yelped as a string of white web shot out from seemingly nowhere and yanked the gun from your assailant’s hands.
“It’s the holidays! C’mon, man!”
“Spider-Man?” Your jaw dropped at the sight of the masked hero.
He was perched on top of a low building right next to the supermarket, only his white eyes and the bright red streaks lining his suit visible in the pitch-black of night.
“At your service, ma’am!”
With a quick salute, he was gone as suddenly as he’d appeared. Like, literally gone. You didn’t see him leave.
You let out a deep exhale and made your way back to Miles’ car, but you couldn’t see him in the window. A pit began to form in your stomach, until a voice made you jump.
“Hey, you alright?”
It was Miles, who had somehow appeared at your side without a sound. He was out of breath, leaning his elbow on the side of the vehicle for support.
Your eyes narrowed. “I’m…fine. Are you okay? Where’d you go?”
“Bathroom,” he lied. He pointed towards the bags you were holding. “Need help with those?”
You handed them over without a second thought. “Definitely. You know this nigga almost robbed me outside the store just now? Then, right as he’s about to pull a gun on me, guess who shows up?”
Miles grinned knowingly. “Spider-Man?”
“Showed up quick as hell! Even on Thanksgiving, can you imagine?”
“Crazy.”
He opened the door to the passenger’s side for you to get in.
“Thanks.”
Miles did a slight bow, allowing you to catch a flash of red and black peeking out from beneath his jacket. You had assumed that he was wearing a turtleneck at first, but upon closer inspection–
“At your service,” he said with a grin before making his way over to the driver’s seat.
As you shut the door, Spider-Man’s voice returned to you.
At your service, ma’am.
The rest of the way home, you replayed both sentences in your head, alternating between the two and replaying the night’s events.
Miles had just so happened to reappear mere seconds after Spider-Man had said the words. They even shared an accent. You considered the absurd possibility for a moment; the police chief’s son being the masked vigilante would make quite the headline, almost poetic in its irony.
Too poetic.
But just as you were about to let it go, Miles went over a speedbump, causing a jolt that made something begin to slip out from his jacket’s right pocket.
Black, red and white.
You pondered how to broach the subject once he pulled up in front of your house, when a lightbulb went off in your head.
Reaching over to the red button that released your seatbelt, you pressed it halfway, over and over again.
“Miles, I think my seatbelt’s stuck. Help me out?”
Miles removed his own with a click. “Sure, lemme see.”
He leaned over and reached the passenger’s seat with ease. His breath hit the side of your neck as he moved closer, making your heart rate quicken, but you maintained focus.
What mattered was that he was in close quarters. You had to see the suit.
“Got it,” Miles said once he released your not-actually-stuck seatbelt. “You’re free–”
Before he could move any further, you grabbed the collar of his jacket and unzipped it halfway.
“I knew it!”
The look of sheer terror on Miles’ face sealed the deal. Here was Spider-Man, in all of his glory.
“Are you…gonna…tell anyone?”
His voice was hushed as he spoke. Almost small. You looked into those round, glassy eyes and felt a wave of guilt.
“I–no, of course not,” you shook your head. “I just…I needed to be sure.”
He relaxed, some of the humor returning to his face. “And now that you’re sure?”
A cheeky grin spread across your lips.
“I guess I should thank you.”
You tugged at his collar one more time and brought his lips crashing against yours.
After getting over the initial surprise, Miles brought a hand up to caress one side of your face and deepen the kiss. Your other hand reached up and brushed the cold metal of one of his stud earrings before you snaked your arm around his neck.
Miles was the first to pull away, zipping his jacket back up.
“I don’t think I can stay in this position for that long,” he smiled. “We gotta get back inside with these drinks.”
You sighed, head still pounding with adrenaline. “You’re right, let’s get outta here.”
By the time you made it up the steps, Alanna was already holding the door open. She gave your face a good once-over and stifled a laugh.
“Did you two have fun on your little adventure?”
You took one of the bags from Miles and held it up like a trophy. “Yup, mission accomplished.”
“That’s not what I meant, baby,” she gestured towards her lips and mouthed “your lip gloss.”
Your eyes widened as she snickered, and let the two of you in.
“Don’t worry, we’ll fix it in the bathroom. Hurry up!”
A few makeup wipes and a liner touch-up later, you emerged from the bathroom just in time for dinner.
Out of all the chairs strewn about the living room, you ended up seated between Miles and Jefferson. The former kept quiet, save for the occasional joke or wink thrown in your direction. Jefferson kept inquiring about your studies, which would then bounce back to Miles’ studies, which Miles then would somehow deflect back to you. Any and all conversation with Jeff became awkward, considering you had just made out with his son.
The party ending felt like a weight lifted off of your shoulders.
You stood at the entrance, waving goodbye to the steady stream of guests as their conversations stretched on, even from their cars. The Morales family were the last to leave.
After his parents went down the steps, Miles stopped in front of the door.
“Hey,” he smiled and tilted his head.
“Hey. You ready to go? I’m not letting you stay the night,” you teased.
“Wasn’t planning to, I promise. I just wanted to ask…”
He shoved his hands into his pockets. “When are you goin’ back to campus?”
“Monday.”
Miles winced, “Damn.”
“I know, I literally gotta start packing to-night! It’s a nightmare!”
“In that case,” he took out his phone, and held it out to you gingerly. “Can we keep in touch?”
You accepted the offer, rapidly entering your digits and saving them under your name. “Worried about me spilling your secret identity?”
“Absolutely. I gotta keep an eye on you from now on. Like witness protection, but backwards–”
“Miles, vamos!” Rio called out from a distance.
“I’m coming, mami!” he replied before turning back to you. “See you winter break?”
You planted a kiss on his cheek. “Maybe. Non-zero chance.”
"I'll take it."

Christmas Special with Eri!Reader? Reader is celebrating her very first Christmas Together with her large family, as she came in next to Odin wearing the cutest little Santa Outfit (With a lot of her family members squealing and cooing over how cute she is and taking a bunch of pictures) and Reader asks “I’m supposed to say… Trick or Treat?” (Everyone fell to the ground from having heart attacks)
Thor tells her ‘Not quite… Wrong Holiday’ and she keeps getting it wrong, as she gifts Shiva some eggs she painted and telling everyone ‘In sickness and in health’ as she throws some rice (She’s wrong again, but no one is chastising her for it, rather they find it precious)
Zerofuku excitedly and rapidly told Reader all in one go about all the types of Holidays and Celebrations, resulting in her getting them mixed up
How does everyone react to Reader’s gift being a gigantic toy sword (She’s holding it up and smiling excitedly at her Big Brother Thor because now they match! (This makes Loki and other relatives *The men* a little jealous because she’s not trying to match with them!)
Reader calls Loki who’s wearing an Elf Outfit a ‘Leprechaun’ (Making some of her family members cackle and try to keep in their snickers) which Loki is sulking in the corner, but Reader hugs him, making him instantly feel better
Reader’s in awe of meeting ‘Santa’ (Zeus dressed as Santa) as she gifts him the Cookies she made with Mama Eve (Everyone is taking pictures)
-It was your first-time celebrating Christmas with your new family- it was your first time celebrating it period and everyone was excited, wanting to make it extra special for you.
-When Loki entered, wearing an elf costume, “We’re here!” eyes quickly turned, seeing you dressed up in the cutest little Santa dress, peeking out from behind Loki, “I’m supposed to say trick or treat, right?”
-Instant heart attacks from cuteness had several of your family members collapsing to the floor as Thor came over, giving you a soft smile, ruffling your hair gently, “Wrong holiday.”
-It was so cute how you kept mixing up the holidays, mainly because Zerofuku had confused you after he had told you about all the different holidays, as he wanted to share the joy of all of them with you.
-Everyone thought it was cute, not having the heart to correct you, as you seemed so happy handing Shiva some painted eggs you had made with Loki and Buddha before tossing rice around, “In sickness and in health.”
-Apollo held you on his lap after you have him some chocolate hearts, “You look so cute dressed up like the Y/N- you match with Loki!”
-You looked up, a bit confused, “Does Santa and a leprechaun match?” Roaring laughter took over the room as Loki couldn’t help but pout lightly, he was an elf- not a leprechaun!
-You presented your present for the gift exchange: a stuffed Santa bear Loki helped you pick out that was almost as big as you were- you looked so adorable!
-Everyone was gawking only moments later as you were holding a giant toy sword, your prize in the gift exchange, but instead of looking scared or upset, you were smiling, looking up at Thor, who had been the one to bring it, “Now I match with you!”
-That wasn’t fair! The others all wanted to match with you!
-“Ho-ho-ho!!” you flinched at the loud voice before you turned, seeing Santa himself, not realizing it was Zeus dressed up and your eyes went sparkly, “It’s Santa!”
-Round two of cuteness related heart attacks!
-You were a little shy approaching him, not knowing him, which everyone thought was adorable as you were holding a bag of cookies you had made with Eve, as Eve had told you that Santa loves cookies.
-Zeus was struggling not to keel over from cuteness when you gifted him the cookies before he picked you up, asking you what you wanted for Christmas, “I want to celebrate like this with everyone all the time.”
-Oh sweet sprinkles you were too precious! You were going to kill all of them as everyone was quickly cheering, promising you that they would always celebrate with you, making you smile warmly, it’s all you ever wanted- to see everyone happy too!

mary campbell winchester who doesn't necessarily regret her demon deal, because she loves john, she does, in a deep and intense and preternatural way that scares her, sometimes, if she looks at it head-on for too long, but sometimes....
sometimes she just misses what she lost. what she traded in exchange for john. to have his snapped neck put back to rights and the breath put back in his lungs; what has to stay dead because she wanted john alive more.
she misses her parents when she has to clean out the house without him. she calls her cousins, campbell kids semi-settled within a day's driving distance, and four of them descend on lawrence to gut the house of everything hunting related before john gets it in his head to help her. she misses her daddy when she puts her hands on john's chest and looks up at him with real, actual tears trembling on her waterline and tells him she needs to be alone to pack up her parents' things. she misses her mama when john tucks her hair back from her face like she's something delicate and worth protecting, something that wouldn't trade two lives already lost for his.
it all has to go, everything hunting.
they pack it up into cardboard boxes and plastic milk crates -- the books, the journals; the cb radio set in the den and the armory behind the false wall in the bedroom; thousands of rounds packed in ammo cans labeled with her daddy's neat draftsman's hand printed on strips of masking tape: CONSECRATED IRON. SILVER -- PURE. SILVER -- ALLOY. COPPER -- STANDARD. her mom's correspondence book of every hunter they've ever known, the names and numbers and home addresses of people who sat at the campbell's dining room table and bled with them and died for them all throughout mary's entire childhood.
most of the clothes in the closet get donated, but mary keeps the box of baby clothes her mama had kept tucked up high on a shelf in their bedroom closet, in case she someday has a little girl with john's dark hair and the winchester name. she keeps the memory box with her first lock of hair and the jar of her baby teeth and the tattered scrap of her crib blankie. she keeps her dad's letterman sweater and her mama's canvas jacket with the padded shoulder where a rifle's meant to rest. she wants her daddy's wristwatch, but it goes into the pyre with the rest of his effects. their wedding rings, her mother's engagement band, all of it; mary watches it all burn down to smoldering cinders with her parents' shrouded corpses.
mary keeps what she has to -- her knives (one for every birthday since she turned ten), and a few handguns. john knows she and her parents were big into "target shooting", so it's not implausible she'd keep a couple. but most of it goes to her family downstate, redistributed amongst the campbell clan. she keeps the slim leather-bound volume printed in 1932 with detailed runic symbols and protective sigils, the sort her mama used to draw with magic marker on the underside of the insoles every time mary got a new pair of shoes. (she misses her mama when she does the same thing to the tiny shoes she puts on the baby boy mary named after her.)
she misses her daddy, who never gets to walk her down the aisle. he's not there to give her grief about "that goddamn nightgown of a hippie wedding dress; jesus, mare, you gettin' hitched today or you just roll outta bed?" or do his best to scare john shitless "as is a father in law's prerogative, damnit!" but then make sure his tie's on straight, 'cause john hasn't got a dad to do it for him.
she misses her mama worst when she's pregnant -- the first time with her little angel, her baby boy with ten perfect fingers and ten perfect toes and two-thirds of his grandmama's name on his birth cert. and almost worse with sam -- john stayin' nights on a cot in the back room of that damned garage and herself to blame for it (he shouldn't'a said that, but she shouldn't've drawn her pistol on him like that, either; not with dean in the next room, sprawled out on his belly on the rug in front of the tv), eight months pregnant and huge as hell, dragging the garbage cans to the curb at five o'clock in the morning with dean on her hip 'cause he'll scream if he's set down even for a minute, and her housecoat coming open at the front and mary wants to sit down in the new-mown grass and weep, she's so goddamned tired, she wants her mama, she wants her daddy, she wants to go back and change her mind and have them flanking her on either side at john winchester's funeral. she wants her mama to brush back her hair and give her a kiss on the forehead and tell her everything's gonna be alright, and she wants her daddy to admit that john was a decent boy even if he was a civilian, and she wants to trade all of them -- her husband and her son and the baby rolling like a hoopsnake inside her -- for her family back.
(she'll feel different in a few hours. after she and dean have gotten a little more shut-eye, and she's made breakfast that caters to the demands of a bacon-obsessed toddler but doesn't also make her wanna hurl, maybe they'll go see john. see if she can't win john's forgiveness with the guileless screams of delight her sweet boy will no doubt give his daddy, and a few kicks from baby to the hand john will inevitably rest on her belly. but for the moment she thinks, oh, god; I should've let him die.)

sentimental over you
summary: sometimes your fiancé's insomnia has its perks. namely that he'll let you sleep while your daughter and him have a little one on one time. rating: g, it's literally a baby on big daddy's chest. like what was i gonna do to it. pairing: big daddy elvis x female reader word count: 867 warnings: fluff. talk about elvis's insomnia. babies being babies and not sleeping like adults with nine to fives. it's tame, i'm being silly with these warnings. though there is unsafe sleeping practices in that a baby in any bed that isn't a crib for the first chunk of their life is technically speaking a no-no in the us now. author's note: literally blame this on the at least two times i saw someone come into- god i think it was daisy's and tam's inboxes mentioning elvis and babies and being adorable. i just wanted to write fluff and this has been in my head since i read those things. also i did mention curly hair in relation to the baby so know this is meant to be both for poc and non-poc readers.
Tumblr media
Elvis would like to argue that both times he's had a child, first with Lisa, his Yisa and then with little Crystal, Lisa's lil Crys-Crys- he hadn't actually planned for them to come when they did. Lisa coming nine months to the day of his and Priscilla's wedding and yours- well yours right after you had just gotten engaged. You could have been married for when she was born but you had put your foot down, telling Elvis that under no uncertain terms were you going to be walking down the aisle with your belly as round as it was in a wedding dress.
You haven't gotten married yet and there's a nebulous promise from both of you to each other that once Crystal is sleeping through the night comfortably you'll get married. At the rate she was going, you and him would be an old married couple without the marriage part before she decided it was a cool thing to sleep. You've gotten used to waking up in the middle of the night and it used to be to feed her but nowadays it's just to have her look at you with eyes so blue you swear no part of your genes even entered the equation when it came to figuring out her eye color. Sometimes she's crying, other time she's just making noise but tonight- tonight you find yourself sleeping past your normal wake up time. Tonight you find that you sleep past the midnight hour, the witching hour for your daughter and into the early morning hours of 4AM. What wakes you up is the low murmur of your fiancé singing.
You blink slowly, your eyes trying to focus in the low light of the room. It takes you a minute or five to actually notice that it's not just him in the bed next to you, that there's a soft cooing noise being made on his chest. Crystal doesn't sleep with the both of you ever, unless she's sick and even then one of you is usually awake to make sure she's alright. Last you had checked when you put her to bed in her crib she was fine, there was no real reason for her to be making noises on Elvis's chest. Elvis is too engrossed in singing to your daughter to notice much of anything in relation to you waking up and hearing him sing a version of one of your favorite Ella Fitzgerald songs does bring you a bit of joy that you don't want to pop just yet by announcing your awake state. When he stops his hand moves to play with your daughter's hair, taking note of the curls starting to finally grow. The jury was still out on how tight they would be but you were hoping for a potential middle ground between your hair and Elvis's.
"Ya gonna go back t'sleep lil one? Gonna let Daddy put ya back in your crib all nice and comfy?" He whispers to her, almost trying to bargain with her like that was ever something that worked with babies. Crystal's answering whimper as he starts to shift in the bed to attempt to get up answers for him. "Gotcha, ain't gonna move from this spot I guess. Gonna have mama wake up t'you all curled up like a cat on me. How we gonna explain that t'her?"
You can't help the tiny giggle that escapes your lips at the last part before you see Elvis's head turn to look at you with Crystal's head following suit, blinking slowly. "Satnin. You supposed t'be sleepin'."
You hum, moving a little closer so that you can nuzzle noses with him and then with your daughter. "Was. Singing woke me up. She been up long?"
"Half 'n hour. She's gettin' drowsy. Gonna have her out like a light in no time." He says with all the confidence in the world. "Go back t'sleep. We'll be here in the mornin'."
You shake your head. "Sing us both to sleep? Maybe even yourself?"
Elvis looks at you and looks at your daughter- your daughter that both of you made together- and exhales. "Drive a hard bargain y'know that?" But he aquises nonetheless, moving his arm out so that you can scoot closer, and place your head near Crystal's on his chest and a soft kiss to her nose. Your arm drapes across his stomach, pulling him closer as you hear him start to sing again.
Crystal falls asleep first, a small yawn leaving her body before she burrows into Elvis's chest, turning it into a warm and comfy little pillow. You feel your eyes starting to droop soon after but then you hear a light snore coming from Elvis instead of singing. You glance up and a smile crosses your lips, he fell asleep mid-song. You follow soon after and the next time you wake up it's to the first rays of sunlight entering your room casting a light on your future husband and your daughter's face that makes your heart full to bursting.
Maybe a few more minutes of shuteye wouldn't hurt. After all, they'll be there in the morning- the later morning.
They were.

a dream of a dream
Elliot has six when he first dream about Narnia. He was twelve when he found it.
Tumblr media
Elliot was six when an enormous thunderstorm wake him up in the middle of the night, he jump out of his bed and run to his parents bedroom. His mother Susan trapped him into a hug quickly, she knew how much her boy hated big noises.
The boy snuggles by his mother sides of the bed, the place just a few months ago was occupied by his father.
Susan kiss his forehead and ask him to sleep but when the storm doesn't stop for a couple of hours they decided to get up.
Elliot could see that his mom was tired but she take him to the kitchen and prepare tea anyways, and listen to him talking about how the other boys in the neighborhood make fun of him for being a coward.
"being scare doesn't make you a coward" his mother says.
But is not just the storm. He felt scare almost everyday since his father die. He was scare that her mother could die too and then he'll be alone.
"You know, I got scare too" says Susan after a long silence. Elliot make a sad smile thinking that his mother is just saying things to make him feel better.
"no you're not, you're brave mama" says Elliot taking a sip of his tea "you're a grown up and Simon says grown ups doesn't get scare like little babies... Like me"
"grown ups get scare, baby. Is just... Not about the same things... Or show it the same way"
"were you scare when dad die?"
Elliot could see the way his mom tense her shoulders at the mention of his father, she wasn't really talkative about him since he pass, maybe it hurt too much, maybe she's suffering like him.
"of course"
She murmured. Take a sip of her own tea.
And with a deep breath tell him "just like when a lost your uncles and aunt"
Elliot eyes sparkle with enthusiasm, he heard stories about his mother siblings before, from aunt Alberta in family reunions or old friends of his mother, a lot of stories with no relation between them except that the four of them were really close.
But she never talk about them and eventually people stop asking about them too.
So he wasn't sure if ask would be the best choice right now.
"You know during the war we... We used to play around the house so your aunt Lucy doesn't get scare" she tells with a smile, but not a sad one "I don't really remember who came with it first but... We pretend that we were in this magical land called Narnia where we were kings and queen with no war or adults to tell us what to do"
"how was it?" he ask "Narnia"
She told him about the woods, the creatures, the cities, the nobles and the magic.
About the stones, and the songs, and the caves.
The parties, the food, the friends and the enemies.
She told him about the Lion.
Later that night in the comfort of her mother bed, Elliot dream about that Lion, playing with him in the coast feeling that they know each other for a very long time, deep down in his heart he felt that was true.
Elliot was twelve when his mother was called by the school, he was failing three classes and got into a fight.
He could hear from outside of the principal office how his mother says the teachers that he's not like that and them telling her how she's wrong.
"Don't get me wrong, Mrs Evans" Elliot heard one of his teachers voice, probably the only one who isn't using a angry tone "Elliot is a great kid but he spent too much time daydreaming"
The trip back home was quiet.
Elliot thought that his mom would be more angry, he was expecting a scream or a disappointing look but instead he got silence?
When they enter the house Elliot took the risk of asking.
"mom are you angry?"
Susan sighs "yes, Elliot I'm angry"
She interrupt herself.
So that's why she wast talking, she didn't want to scream at him, she was struggling with how correct Elliot from something she is sure is her fault.
"why on earth did you punch Simon? I thought you were friends"
"he's an idiot. he's cruel and boring and he started!"
"is this about your stories again?"
"MY stories??"
Suddenly the conversation became full screaming.
"You were the one that tell me is good to believe in something and now you're angry because I do it and you don't?!"
"Don't talk to me like that!" she hated when he get like that, it reminds her of Peter in the worst way, so stubborn "You can't spend your life in a fairytale"
"Is not a fairytale! I know!" he scream trying not to cry, it's ok when other kids say things like that but it hurts when is his mother "It's not my fault that everyone is death inside!"
Susan laugh from exasperation, now he sounds like Lucy, like the morning before the accident when she didn't want to go on that train.
"Oh my God are you even hearing yourself now?! You sound... You sound..."
She didn't want to say crazy. He didn't want to heard crazy.
Of all people, not by his mom.
So he run to his room and slammed the door behind him, let himself fall at the floor with his back in the door.
He cried for a long time, hugging himself. He felt alone, like there was no one in this world who understands him, not even the woman who he though could always count.
She was worried, he guess, it most be hard having him as a son.
Maybe if wasn't here his mom wouldn't have to worry so much, she didn't have anyone to lay on after all.
Elliot crying were interrupted when he felt a cold breeze entering the room, he look up at the window in front of him, the curtains were almost in the roof. He get up decided to close the window when he saw outside.
The woods.
"Imposible" He muttered to himself before going out of the window.
It was Narnia.

Technically this isn't Toon Patrol-centric, however since we've explored Poppy's and Shiny's relationship with Lottie in other AU's, I think it's high time we talked about the gals in OG universe (if you want to of course ^^)
Of course, Lottie is your OC, so whether these are canon on her/your end is all up to you. But here are my thoughts if you'd like;
I think how the girls found out about Charlotte depends on their relationship with the weasels by the time she was left on their doorstep. I got three possible scenarios depending on how tight knit they are with the group.
If Shiny and Poppy didn't know the TP at all... Well they wouldn't know about Lottie until after they gained the boys' trust. Simple as that XD
If the weasels were just starting to come around to the gals, then it probably took a week or two for them to tell Poppy and Shiny. Both because they are still getting used to these two women in their lives, and also because Smartass became a father in one night. They all need a bit of time to adjust XD
If the girls are actually dating Psycho and Greasy, then oh hell yeah, they know right away. I can picture Greasy actually going to call Shiny's work place just before going back to bed and telling her that something pretty big happened, and he'll explain more in the morning like the gossiping bitch he is XD. Poppy also gets the same call in the morning- possibly by Smartass asking her about his list in case he's missinv something... though, ngl I've had an imagine in my head that I've wanted to write where Poppy was actually in Psycho's bed the night Lottie was brought into the house, and she's basically there for the entire thing (Waking up with a shriek when Smartass fires out his front door, following Psycho downstairs despite how very concerned she is about seeing a body, seeing a baby on the porch instead, etc). Though I don't want to impede on your fanfiction and world of course ^^
You and I both know that Poppy is offering her services as much as possible. For one, she loves kids! She'd be happy to help out ^^ and two, she uh... She loves her friends and boyfriend. She really does! But uh... She is also aware of the fact that they may not be the best prepared for a baby XD oh, and just like Stu, Smarty's, and Wheezy's mums, Poppy calls just to check up on Lottie. Psycho gets to know how his boss and comrades feel XD she might come off a bit smothering with how much she tries to help, and I wouldn't be surprised if Smartass actually wound up snapping at her at one point, but she dies truly mean well.
Shiny... Well, this isn't like a deal breaker thing between her and Grease. But she is pretty shocked about all this. After she gets her laugh out (*looks at baby Lottie* *looks at each individual weasel before landing on Smartass* "So, who's the mama~?" "Why'd you ask me first!?"). She's gotta hand it to Smartass for not shipping the kid off to a foster house, that's for certain. But it is going to take her some time to used to the fact that there is a b a b y in the house now. She may not even hold Lottie at first because holy shit, that is a tiny, brand-new-to-the-world weasel. In this house. I can kind of see her being hesitant to hold Lottie similar to how Robin was to hold Lilly and Marshall's baby in HIMYM. Though eventually, she got to hold Lottie for the first time... And she didn't give her back for almost two hours XD
As much as Poppy loves Lottie... She also doesn't approve of Psycho just claiming her as his/their own XD she'd be helping Smartass try to reign Psycho in as much as possible.
Of course, since Smartass is the father, he's supposed to be the one taking care of all the paperwork related to the baby (like getting Lottie into school), I can't help but think about them going to Poppy a lot for this stuff since she is the legal friend XD she doesn't like- pretend to be Lottie's real parent at PTA meetings, but Smartass has asked her on what would be the legal course of action to deal with annoying PTA mums before. Just- how to act the part of a civilian father XD
Shiny hanging out with Lottie when she's 'arrested' by the Toon Patrol!! She's gotta stay inside their house for a certain amount of time before she's 'bailed out' and can rejoin society, so why not?? She and the little rugrat will get into loads of trouble with Lottie's plotting mind and Shiny's experience and willingness to cover for her neice. Greasy and Smartass won't know peace XD
If Poppy and Roger are related, oh you know she's the bridge between the weasels and the Rabbits. Next to Lottie and Ritchie, of course XD she's trying to get Greasy to leave Jessica a l o n e ("She is a married woman, Greasy!! The mother of your neices' best friend!!"), and she will tackle-hug Psycho when he's chasing her cousin around at family outings. Meanwhile, Shiny is just kicking back with the kids and enjoying the crazy show, ("Man, you're guys' families are insane, huh? Wanna go get ice cream before people realize you're related to them?")
When Lottie joined the navy, Poppy was absolutely crying proud, we'll-miss-you-so-much tears on the dock. And telling Lottie to take care of herself and take it as easy as she can (despite... You know, going into the navy XD). Shiny was also proud and sentimental, but she didn't cry or fret. She just gave Lottie one final hug and told her to kick ass on that ship ^^ and that when she got home, they all were definitely having a fun girls night to help her relax the military driven mindset she'll develop.
That's all I can think if at the moment unfortunately. But I hope you like these and that I didn't overstep ^^ feel free to ignore of course ^^
You are absolutely not overstepping, I loved waking up to this! :D :D :D
First of all, I love the idea of Poppy being there with Psycho the night Lottie was dropped off!! I would love to hear more about that if you have thoughts!!! 💛💥💕💛💥💕!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Omg- Shiny finally holding Lottie and then not letting her go for hours? XD Ahhh, that is so so so cute!! XDD And MAN- Poppy's and Shiny's responses to Lottie joining the navy are so so sweet and my heart is so so warm !!
!!! I want to add stuff, I hope thats okay!! ^^ Here are some imagines/thoughts I've had with Lottie, Poppy and Shiny.
Imagine one day Rena turns up to see Adult!Lottie, and Smartass isn't around. And Poppy isn't around. And Stupid isn't around. And Wheezy's not around- no one is there, except Shiny. If Poppy had been there then Lottie might have allowed Rena to come closer and talk to her (Though lord knows, Rena would have nothing good to say. Rena's the kinda mother to only come find her daughter if she needs a transplant or something.), but since she's at Shiny's bar with her Lottie feels absolutely no qualms in telling Rena to leave. Lottie's kind but she is her fathers daughter and she's tough as nails and, yes, she has a hateful side- and Rena is on it. And since its Shiny she's with, who she knows will encourage that if thats what she wants (No questions asked), she feels perfectly comfortable showing it. And Shiny doesn't pester her afterwards over whether she's okay or not, either. I just like the idea of Shiny allowing Lottie to be her tough, hard-ass self.
Imagine if Rena came when Lottie was little and Shiny was babysitting her. I need to know what you think Shiny would do/how she would react XD
Imagine Adult!Post-Navy!Lottie telling Poppy how cool she thinks she is and how much respect she has for her!! Cuz like- Lottie truly does think Poppy is an amazing amazing person and she has just as much respect for as she does for Smartass and thats saying something. She thinks much higher of her then any of her uncles, thats for sure. "Poppy you're literally the coolest, don't underestimate yourself." "I'm a quiet seamstress sweetie. I'm not tough like Shiny, or Smartass, or Greasy, or you- " "Hey. You're kinder then any of us and that is infinitely better then anything the rest of us have, trust me. Case closed." Lottie's voice is gentle but not to be argued with. Cuz my goodness, she has so much awe and respect for Poppy!! So so much!! She genuinely thinks Poppy is the coolest person XD Lottie has her priorities straight!
Imagine Teenage!Lottie sneaking out of her house to go on a date and Shiny and Greasy are supposed to be 'babysitting' her while the others are all out. Shiny catches sight of Lottie slipping past them in the dark while Greasy's engrossed in the movie in front of them and Lottie's eyes go wide. She points to the back of Greasy's head and holds a finger up to her mouth. Like stay. quiet. He will rat her out to her dad in a heartbeat. What happens next? XD
And a simple, fun (for us XD Not so much for Poppy 😅) one- Imagine Child!Lottie asking Poppy and Smartass together why she doesn't have a mummy. Imagine Child!Lottie asking Poppy if she's her mother. What does Poppy do when Smartass is just like... 'not it' and looks pointedly down at a newspaper? XD

Some sketchy designs for the apprentice crew of the Mapleshade’s Vengeance rewrite that in all likelihood i will literally never finish.
Some design notes and headcanons:
Birchpaw is based on a fawn for reasons i cannot explain but I promise make sense in my head
Ravenpaw’s just a lil emo boy. The cloud on his chest represents how he has fully devoted his heart to the heavens.
Frecklepaw’s based on an adder >:D
Maplepaw’s got proportionally the largest eyes of any of the crew, and they stay big even as she becomes an adult. This at first gives her a naive look, but then it just kinda becomes unsettling.
Birchpaw got the pelt of his dad, but the build, fur type, and disposition of his mama Shinecloud; Frecklepaw has the opposite. It’s not easy to tell they’re related at all, but the giveaway is the tabby marks and the Big Ol Ears.
The four (+ Applepaw and Reedpaw, who are also a major part of this rewrite) grow up in a time of upheaval in the clans--not long after the No Murder rule was introduced-and not long after SkyClan was driven out. (This might break some things timeline wise, but the warriors timeline is one of the most hellish things to ever drag its way free of satan’s asshole so I don’t care.) The adults are all rumbling about what it truly means to be a Clan cat, the role violence has in their society, and what duty they have to cats outside their clan. The apprentices all form their own beliefs on this:
*Maplepaw is the kit of a dead rogue the clans found on the border. She doesn’t really consider herself an outsider, considering the Clan is all she remembers, but she hears the whispers of the elders and senior warriors about how bringing in an outsider at a time like this makes ThunderClan look weak. [This influences her decision to lie to Frecklewish later.] She works hard to prove herself, but she’s impulsive, hot-tempered, and can act malicious. Isolating herself further is the fact that her ideals do not match those of the traditionalist ThunderClan, which is only further compounded when she saves Reedpaw and befriends her and Applepaw. The three of them sneak out and form a club they jokingly dub the ‘Secret Resistance’. Maplepaw wants to change the clans for the better, and make them see they’re all just cats on the inside. As she grows older, she does more and more dubious things in the aim of this goal, till it all comes crashing down after the exile and the river. [Fun fact: this is influenced by canon Mapleshade’s desire to stop RiverClan and ThunderClan’s wars with her kits, which is both an admirable goal and...very naive, to say the least. This is an interesting part of her character, which I think isn’t touched upon much in canon or fanon.]
*Maplepaw is bi and crushes on both Reedpaw and Applepaw; warriors society has terms for gay people but not bi people [bi erasure real 😔] which leaves her very confused.
*Frecklepaw is very similar to Mapleshade in temperament, but there’s one key difference between the two--Frecklepaw is raised by Oakstar. He’s a staunch traditionalist to try and mask his SkyClan roots through his father, Gorseclaw. The two quickly become rivals, though Birchpaw is always there to soothe arguments when they get too vicious (until he isn’t.) Frecklepaw initially wasn’t the best fighter, but she trains hard so she’s able to match Maplepaw in spars. As they grow older, this rivalry only intensifies as Frecklepaw develops a onesided crush on Maplepaw [which is part of why she’s so eager to raise kits with Mapleshade later]. Mapleshade doesn’t find out about this till they’re both in the dark forest [because rewrite starclan aren’t any less pieces of shit than canon starclan].
*Ravenpaw has an unusually strong connection to StarClan, almost like Jayfeather. He spends a great deal of time ruminating on the words of his ancestors and ancient discourses, believing that only they could know what the right path is to take at any given moment (and he becomes the kittycat version of terminally online). He strikes up a relationship with Birchpaw after receiving advice from Acorn Fur (the cat that Moth Flight denied having a mate to because she, a single teenage mother in a brand new role with adhd and no reliable babysitters and Four Goddamn Kittens, couldn’t manage her work/life balance nobody could. Adhder here and just one baby is hell got damn). This is part of why he’s so furious at Mapleshade and reveals the secret even though he knows the kits will suffer for it--he was hurt and betrayed when it was announced Birchface had sired Mapleshade’s kits, and is now angry she made him ever doubt his partner.
*Birchpaw is the heart of the group, the glue holding them together. When he dies, it all falls apart. Another reason Mapleshade lies to Frecklewish is that her frenemy drew away after his death, and she selfishly wants the fierce closeness they once had back. He’s kind of a Greypaw figure--jovial, cheerful, charming, not the smartest, flouts the rules. He doesn’t have strong feelings on the code one way or another, but he does have strong feelings for Ravenpaw. He sent the omen because he sensed that Mapleshade’s kits would be found out and wanted to tell Ravenwing to keep them in *ThunderClan; this tragically backfires.
god, I love these pathetic flawed losers so much but only the version of them that exists in my brain ya feel me

Stacey Creely: High Heeling Her Way Through the 40s of Life
Tumblr media
It was finally all quiet on the 57-acre campus along Knox Lane after commencement sent 85 young women and men last Sunday to whatever their next step may be and Linsly's leaders hung up their formal graduation robes for another academic year. But then? Yup, that’s her. Yes, the pretty one with the big smile. Yes, her – the lady with the flowing dark hair and the really high heels. And that’s right, she is the writer of that blog, too. Ya know, the one that delves into those topics that men pretend to ignore but never really can. That, ladies and gentlemen, is Stacey Creely, who in fact, seldom holds back when it comes to what she knows something about. Like Linsly, and being an Italian woman, and a mother of a daughter, and a wife of a man who is definitely the Yin to her Yang. Creely is the director of public relations, the assistant director of admissions, and an educator at The Linsly School, and her professional home along Leatherwood Lane also has become an unpredicted locale for the 1996 graduate of Central Catholic High School and her family. In fact, her daughter, Olivia, will enter her junior year at the college preparatory school come August after earning honors while playing three sports during her second year in high school. So, unexpectedly, Creely’s life has been a black-and-orange existence as a member of a Wheeling community that’s not understood very well despite its 209 years of history, but when given the chance, she happily offers details so impossible dreams can become inevitable realities. Stacey and her husband, Eric, have one daughter, Olivia, who will be a junior at Linsly come August. What did you think of Linsly as a high school student? When I was in high school, I honestly didn’t think much about Linsly at all until we played them in football because it was a huge city rival, and as we know, one that continues to the present day. I can remember painting my face and going over to the Wheeling Island Stadium with my friends for the big game. My mom went to Wheeling Central when it was St. Joseph’s Academy, my Aunt Doris went to Wheeling Central, and my cousin Kristin was a year ahead of me there, so it was a natural progression for me to attend as well.  I graduated from Central in the class of ‘96, and at that time the rivalry between Central and Linsly got pretty heated - to the point that when I interviewed for my current position at Linsly with then Headmaster Reno DiOrio, he called me out on it. When I was a senior at Central, the night before we played Linsly there was a huge bonfire, and a lot of my friends were going. It was in October of 1995, and at the time I worked at Oglebay Park on the weekends. I was scheduled to work “Boo at the Zoo” the night of the bonfire and I remember begging my mom to let me call off work and go. Well, my mama knew best, and she absolutely refused to let me go. So, I went to work. The next day I remember Mr. Duffy, our Dean of Discipline and my golf coach at Central calling a lot of seniors into his office. You didn’t want to make Mick Duffy angry, I”ll tell you that! Apparently, things got really out of hand and some of the seniors made a bad decision and decided to go to Linsly’s campus and deface the football field and The Aviator statue. From that point on, Linsly and Central didn’t play each other in football for many years. The day I was interviewed by Mr. Diorio, I was very happy that I didn’t go to that bonfire! My dad was a steel worker - he worked for Wheeling Pitt at the Yorkville mill for more than 30 years, and I guess Linsly was just never in our consideration set of possibilities. I think so many people think that a Linsly education isn’t accessible, and having worked there now for almost 20 years I can tell you that is simply the furthest thing from the truth. The Linsly Admissions Office works with families individually to help make a Linsly education possible whether it is through need-based financial aid or our named scholarship program that is endowed by so many generous alumni. I was the first in my family to break the tradition to send my daughter to Linsly and it has been a blessing to be able to give her the gift of a Linsly education. She will be a junior there in the fall, and is absolutely thriving at Linsly, taking advantage of all the opportunities they have to offer. What are the tallest high heels you have ever worn and did you make it through the night without falling? Hands down, the tallest high heels I ever wore and didn’t fall down (thank God) was when I was a model for Rock the Runway, a fashion show by Bob Bailey benefiting the YWCA. It was a 70s theme fashion show, and my heels were ridiculously gorgeous Jessica Simpson black sequin platform 6-inch heels. I was rehabilitating from a knee injury and I was terrified that I would fall flat on my face on the runway! Somehow, I made it down the runway and back without falling! It was a great event for a great cause, and I was really proud to be part of it. Stacey and Eric have been married for 21 years. What are the main reasons why you’ve decided to write and publish an online blog? I’ve wanted to write the blog for a long time. When I was in grade school at Corpus Christi, I was the editor of the 8th grade school newspaper. When I was in college, I worked on The Tower newspaper at Bethany College. Today, at Linsly, I have the opportunity not only to do marketing and communications for the school, but I also am the advisor to the school newspaper, The Linsly Line, and I teach Creative Writing as an elective. I think writing is just part of who I am. It’s my calling. So I decided to start a blog, findyourselfafter40.com, because I really want to use my passion for writing to create a supportive community of women over 40 and give us an authentic voice. What I have found is that most women my age are so busy taking care of their families, running from athletic fields to dance practices, and rushing off to work, that they have set their own dreams aside. They aren’t taking care of themselves because they are too exhausted taking care of everyone and everything else. We have some AMAZING women over 40 in our local community and I want to partner with them and tell their stories and also tell mine. I am really focusing my blog posts to focus on topics that are important to women just like me - the busy, working moms who want to know hacks on healthy recipes that they can make quickly or the best beauty finds on a budget. I want to support them and lift them up and give them a voice. My blog is in its infancy, and I don’t know exactly where it will go, but it’s an adventure and I am excited to find out! As an Italian Mother, what lessons are most important for you to teach your daughter? SO MANY THINGS. As an Italian mother, the most important lesson that I can teach my daughter is that family is first. Period. My family is very small, but we are extremely close - almost too close at times! I grew up with my cousins who are like my sisters and now they take care of Liv as if she is their own daughter, and that is such a blessing. Loyalty is such an important character trait to me and I’ve taught her that as well. I also want to teach her to be independent and strong. I think too many parents fall into the trap of teaching our daughters to be “good girls.” I don’t want Olivia to be a good girl. I want Olivia to be an independent girl. I want to teach her to be strong, to have values and standards and self-confidence and most importantly, to truly know her own worth. I want to teach her that life is tough, but that she is tougher. I also want to teach her that life is short - that she needs to follow her own arrow and make her own path to do what makes her happy.  I also want to teach her to never leave the house without making her bed and putting on lipstick and earrings. And meatballs. I want to teach her how to make homemade meatballs. That’s what my Italian mama taught me, and I hope I can instill those lessons in my daughter as well.  Creely loves to cook all of the recipes her mother taught her as a child, and now she's teaching her daughter, Olivia. If you are asked to prepare the one meal you make best, what meal would it be? This one is tough! I think if you would ask my family, they would say my chicken parmesan or my homemade Italian wedding soup. But my signature dish is my stromboli! We have a tradition every Christmas to make homemade meatballs and strombolis with my mom and Liv. It started with my nana, and we honor her memory every holiday season by making meatballs and baking stromboli. Olivia has really taken over the stromboli making, though, so I’m super proud of that. My house smells like heaven, and my mom and Olivia and I work all day cooking and laughing and listening to Frank Sinatra holiday music. And, of course, there’s a little bit of wine. I gotta ask for your Family Web AU, out of all the boys, it's canonically shown that Leo is the least likely to really trust anyone he has/had a bad feeling about so quickly (also that maybe he can hold a grudge longer than his brother), example: Draxum with the "You threw me off a roof" (because yeesh that stuff can cause some nightmares lemme tell ya) and of course, Big Mama.
So what was his realization when he put 2 and 2 together and figured out where they all came from/who their spider traits came from? I doubt positive. And would he be one of the first to trust Big Mama, or the last?
She must want to get to know who her son is/became, because no one has ever outsmarted Big Mama before (so it all makes sense that of course the only one who could would be one of her own children), but as much as Leo loves his brothers (and his.... "mother's" *gosh that's still weird* tendencies to beat up Draxum), he doesn't really know how to feel about her. How would she react? And what about his brothers? Or would he hide it from them as well as he hides his insecurities?
Well i'm glad you asked! because you're right, it's very much NOT a positive reaction from Leo. (which is one of the many reasons he's the main pov of the fic lol.) In fact, when he first figures it out, he decides that can't be the answer and starts looking anywhere else. He doesn't even tell his siblings what he found out b/c he is so sure he has to be wrong (he very much wants to be wrong.)
But eventually he's exausted every other answer and found each one lacking, he has to except that this is correct. Big Mama is their mom. That he has to tell his siblings that the very untrustworthy spiderlady that keeps trying to capture them, is their other parent.
In the end, he's definitely the last one to trust Big Mama, despite being the first to figure it out. (Mikey trusts her first, almost as soon as he heard they're related. Raph very shortly after. Then Donnie, and eventually Leo.)
And Big Mama would definitely want to get to know her kids, especially the clever boy that used to mimic her during meetings and is now outsmarting her at her own game. But she'd know he didn't trust her, it's not exactly something he can hide. He didn't trust her before, a change in relations isn't going to make that go away, not for Leo.
But eventually he'd see that she was trying. That she very much does want to have that family relationship with all of them and trying her best to prove she cares (even if her way of going about it is a little odd. (ie. Battle Nexus NY definitely is one of those attempts. Like she pared the boys up with people they looked up to (at least for Mikey and Raph) then gave them challenges that showed off their talents, all as a debut to the battle nexus which she personally cares a lot about. Was it a good way of showing she cared? no. Was it an attempt? yes. Did she learn that maybe trapping all of NYC into an orb to show off how amazing your kids are probably isn't the best way of doing so? also yes.)
he'd see that she doesn't have any ill will towards them, that despite the misunderstandings and mistakes she is learning from them, even appologizing when necessary. And the fact that she listens to his suggestions, eventually puts her in his good books.
thanks! : )

Epel, Seven, Jack, Azul, and Took asked singer Yuu about their family and yuu shows a photo of the whole family on their phone, them seeing alot of them wearing military/police uniforms from four generations of the family and behind it's the family farm house, and that not all almost all the males looked very intimidating and very tall and the woman's are either average height or short
Like the guys thinks it they married their crush their son would be giants but kinda scary and their daughters would be short but cute
Badass family
Also idk if you misspelled a name but idk who Seven is-
But I'll do the other boys!
Also this reminds me of my family with the men being tall and the girls being short.
You decided to show your boyfriend the different people on your family so if they ever do meet him he's prepared. Their dad was a military commander but retired after a few years in it since her mom didn't want her kids to not know their dad. Their brothers took after their dad, one being in the armed, air, and marine forces. They all got bulky because of their dad's big stature sure Yuu was tall but not like their dad, their rounded like their mama.
Epel:
He thinks it's so bad ass! He wants to meet your brothers and dad! But they look so intimidating that he might pee himself if he actually meets them. He can relate to Bing short since his family dosent grow that tall. After tell you your father taught all of you how to fight close combat and with guns, He wants to know even more about your family! Tell him more! You guys also had a farm? What did you grow?
When you did have kids with him he was jealous because he only got a grow spirt to make him 5"8' and your (same height, taller, shorter) but when the kids came they were a whapping 6 to 7 feet tall with muscles. Your daughters were tall too but were on the softer side, you did what your dad taught you to your kids. Your eldest song has his temper and has fought lots of men hitting on you and getting too close to his siblings. When the reunion happened the youngest shy little thing got under Jack's youngest girl and with other kids of their friends. They even happy she got her out of her shell.
Jack:
He gets reminded of his own family in a way since all the males are bigger then the females most of the time. But both are strong. His tail wags when you tell hims oldies of your dad being a leader in the army. His grandpa was a commander too (headcannon). So he knows some close combat and how to use a gun. But he dosen't need a gun when he can throw punches.
The kids were beef cakes and Jack took them to the gym to work out if they wanted. They were all 6 to 7 feet tall and the his daughters were short but they could still pack a punch. He's happy his kids can defend their family. The little fire cracker of a girl is the most scary out of her siblings. She got's her grandma's fire on her mamas side of the family. She bit a kid for trying to be mean to her siblings right infront of her. When a reunion happened she ended up friends with Epel's, Deuce's, Ace's and Sebek's kids. They were a little rag tag team.
Azul:
Lowkey freaked out but kinda use to it because of the Tweels parents and family. His family is more on the rounded side like your mom. But was kinda jealous since he wants to be taller too but he just wants to know about your family so he knows everything and can impress them.
When the kids came and grew he got flash backs to Floyd and Jade speaking of they like the tall and short squishys. Azul let's them do whatever if they want to lean combat he'll let them if they want to learn how to run a restaurant like him he'll let them. Floyd and Jade are the best uncles to them, they wrestle with then when they first started to learn how to fight. The kids were chubby but when the boys grew they got slightly taller then The Tweels. He was happy for them. The girls still can fight just like their brothers but get underestimated a lot. Your twins that are almost like Floyd and Jade always stay by their younger sister, she's the brains to their brawns. She's just like her dad. Making contracts with other kids. She's 2 years younger then the 5 year old twin boys but she knows how to put people in her place. When a reunion happened she got all the kids in a contract but Rook's kids. She's friends with Jamil's kid since he actually wasn't scared of her and her brothers.
Rook:
His family also was in some type of Military and also Archery. Some were even guards to the Royal family at one point! He loves to hear about your family defending and attacking stories. When you show him a picture of your family with all the men beefed up and you and your mother and sisters all round he smiles. He asks if your children would be like that and you say yeah probably. He then starts to sing poems of your unborn children.
He was so happy when the kids like the Archery and hunting like he did! He taught them everything he learned over the years and you also taught them hand combat and how to use guns if needed. When there was a reunion and everyone could bring he kids everyone was surprised to see 4 boys and 1 girl. The boys were tall and Beefy with scowls to ward off anyone looking at their mama or sister wrong. Their younger sister was the little sunshine but has mischievous glint and her eyes. When a younger boy picked on her she flipped him over her shoulder on the grass. Her brothers whooped and Rook made sure she was ok. Yuu then talked to the parents and they apologized profusely. All the kids are friends with Epel's and Vil's.

Jimmy O’Doyle was sweet, and handsome; tall, and strong, and with this gorgeous blonde hair that he either styled relentlessly or just somehow dried perfect on its own.  Sure, his nose was a little big, but you found it endearing, especially when his smile was even bigger.
Most of the girls in Knockemstiff had a crush on Jimmy— maybe it was his looks, maybe it was the fact that he drove one of the nicer cars in town— but he was either oblivious or uninterested.  He seemed to keep to himself most of the time, though he'd always be polite and carry conversation if you approached him.
Well, not you.  You never approached him.  It made you a little too nervous.
Therefore, you had no plan when he approached you after church one Sunday.  You didn't even realize he knew your name, until he used it to get your attention with a tap on your shoulder.
"Oh, hey Jimmy," you mumbled back, looking up at him and chewing your lip.
"I like your dress," he informed you with a tilted smile.  You looked down at it— yellow, with a white gingham on the skirt— and felt your face getting a little warm.
"Oh, this?  Thanks, um, it was a gift from— from my stepdad."
"Oh, was it your birthday?"
You shook your head.  "Not for a few more months, he just bought me something to be nice."
Jimmy nodded, and there was an uncomfortable silence before you suddenly blurted out: "I like your tie!"
"Thanks!” he beamed.  “I got it when I went to—”
"Time to go, sweetie," your mother interrupted to inform you, motioning to the parking lot where Sheriff Bodecker was opening the driver's side door of his patrol car.  (Yes, he drove the three of you to church in the fucking patrol car.)
"Just a minute, mama," you smiled back.  “What were you gonna say?” you asked Jimmy.
“Uh, I was just gonna ask you somethin’...”
“Well, what is it?”
He scratched the back of his neck, looking away for a moment.  “Just if maybe you wanted to, uh, go for a drive sometime or somethin’...”
“A drive?  Yeah, sure,” you smiled, feeling a giddy nervousness bloom in your stomach.  “I’d like that.”
“Yeah, me too,” he nodded.  “I’ll pick you up tonight?  At 7?”
You pictured Jimmy appearing at the door with your mother and Lee sitting in the living room.  “Um, no, I’ll meet you somewhere.  At the corner of Bailey and Hillside?”
“All right,” he smiled.
“I’ll be the one in a yellow dress,” you winked.
“I’ll be the one in the blue Cadillac,” he grinned.
Your mother called to you again and you waved goodbye to Jimmy, feeling your cheeks warm as he waved back.
“What was that all about?” she asked as you got into the back seat.
“Oh, he was just asking if I’d wanna join the choir,” you lied quickly.
“Well I hope you said no!  I wouldn’t want you to embarrass yourself,” she smiled.
“Of course, mama,” you nodded, shooting Lee a glance that said ‘do you see how she is?’
He looked back just for a second before starting the car, and you knew he understood better than most.
//
You had a plan to tell your mother and stepfather that you were going to meet some friends for dinner, but they never even asked where you were going.  Certainly made it easier to slip out and begin your walk to the corner where you planned to meet your date.
You had your yellow dress on like you said you would, but you didn't wear the white cardigan that you had on over it at church that morning.  It was a warm night anyhow, but you hoped it would be a little more mature without it.  Not revealing or anything, but a little more daring.
Hopping into Jimmy’s passenger seat made you feel like the most special girl in the world, though you knew it wasn’t actually that big of a deal.  You let yourself get excited anyway.
The conversation was pleasant, if nerve-wracking.  At first, you kind of hoped some other girls in town would see you in his car and get jealous, but as you two got to talking and you appreciated the scenic drive, it wasn’t so important to you anymore.  Jimmy asked where you wanted to go.  You just told him to go anywhere.  You weren’t exactly offended when he decided to take you to the closest thing Knockemstiff had to a ‘makeout point’: it was just a nice park that had a lot of open space and a cute little creek down the middle.  Knowing what this implied, you felt your face warm up slightly.
“Is it okay if we just sit in here and talk for a bit?” Jimmy asked gently.  “I rather like getting to know you.”
“Yeah, I’d like that,” you nodded, “I like talking to you, too.”
It went on like that for a while, talking about all sorts of things that were mostly unimportant.  Jimmy went on a bit of a ramble about baseball, which you normally found terminally boring; it was interesting when he talked about it with so much passion, though.  And he returned the favor by listening to you talk about politics which was probably just as boring to him.
“I’ve never known a girl who knew so much about the world,” he said, seeming impressed.
“I don’t think I know that much,” you shook your head, “I just listen to the radio.”
“I listen to the radio, too, but it must not be the same station as you,” he laughed.
An awkward, but not necessarily uncomfortable, silence fell over the car.  You wanted to make a move, but you didn’t know how.
“Maybe we could turn on the radio now,” you suggested.
“All right,” he jumped up, leaning forward and turning his car radio on.
And dear, I wonder if you find love an optical illusion, too?
“Oh, I love this song,” you admitted.  “I don’t have a record player, but I think if I did I’d only have Billie Holiday records.”
“You should come over sometime, I have a lot of records,” Jimmy offered.
“Does that mean we’ll have a second date?” you asked hopefully.
“Does that mean we’re having a first date, right now?” he returned.
“I was sort of hoping so,” you smiled nervously.
“So was I,” he agreed.
Are the stars out tonight?  I don’t know if it’s cloudy or bright…
Your mind wandered as you feared that somehow, Jimmy would see right through you— see who you really were.  And if he did that, he’d never want you.  You knew that.  You figured Sheriff Bodecker would go out of his way to make sure you knew that, if he ever found out this was going on.  But he wasn’t going to find out, you decided, because he had no way of knowing and you were grown anyhow.
‘cause I only have eyes for you…
When you snapped out of your thoughts, you realized Jimmy was leaning in towards you; and though you felt oddly guilty for no good reason at all, you closed the gap and kissed him.
It was gentle and sweet, nothing like the kisses you were used to.  Some materialistic, status-conscious part of you (probably the part that was related to your mother) was over the moon to be kissing the most popular young man in the whole town.  Most of you, though, was just happy to be kissing a boy that you liked, and that liked you back.
And secretly, a very teeny tiny part of you was thinking of someone else.
“You are so beautiful,” Jimmy whispered into the kiss.
“Really?  You think so?” you whispered back, smiling.
“Everybody does,” he answered as if it were obvious.
You kissed him deeper, the smallest moan slipping out as his hands moved over your waist.  You gasped a bit when his hands moved to grab your breasts.
“Is this okay?” he asked quietly.
You nodded and kissed him again, whimpering softly as his hands massaged you through your dress.
Arousal was starting to awaken between your legs, and you felt your hips pushing down against the seat a little harder, seeking stimulation.  Gingerly, your hand started to slide up his leg, and you both gasped when you felt his erection underneath the corduroy.
He quickly took his hands off you to open up his trousers, pulling his cock out and sighing a bit when your hand wrapped around it.
You could tell it wasn’t as big as the Sheriff’s— not as long or as thick— but it still felt good in your hand, and Jimmy still looked beautiful with that look of pleasure and shock on his face.
“Damn, you’re…” Jimmy moaned, almost in disbelief, as you started to stroke him.  “You’re incredible.”
“Touch me again,” you pleaded gently, biting your lip when he reached up to pull the top of your dress down a bit— just enough to expose your tits and grab them again.
You got lost in the moment, with how good his hands felt on you, and how nice it was to kiss him, and how much you wanted him to come all over your hand.  So lost, in fact, that neither of you noticed a car had pulled up behind his until there was a tap at your window.
It was the Sheriff, shining a flashlight into the car.
“Shit!” Jimmy gasped, shoving you away and tucking himself back into his trousers while you pulled up your dress to cover yourself and turned off the radio.  Your stomach sank and you thought you could probably vomit right then and there.
“Roll down the window, please,” Lee requested, and you awkwardly cranked the handle until it was halfway down.
“I’m sorry, Sheriff, it was—” Jimmy began to explain.
“What do you want?” you interrupted, glaring at Lee.
“Just wanna make sure you’re both alright,” he answered sternly.  “It’s gettin’ pretty late.”
“It’s not even ten,” you announced with crossed arms, “and you aren’t supposed to be workin’ tonight.”
Jimmy stared at you with wide eyes, somewhere between impressed and terrified that you were standing up to the Sheriff.
“I’m gonna have to ask you to step out of the vehicle, ma’am,” Lee snarled.  You sighed and rolled up the window again; Lee stepped out of the way so you could open your door as you got out.  “You, stay in the car,” he instructed Jimmy, who nodded fearfully.
The second you shut the door, Lee was pressing you back into the side of the car and staring you down.  You were terrified of him, actually, but you refused to show it.
You whispered to him harshly, hoping Jimmy wouldn’t hear your exchange.  “Go.  Away.”
Lee chuckled, in an angry sort of way.  “Givin’ some schoolboy a tug in his car, huh?  In the dress I bought you?  Thought you were better than that.”
“It’s none of your business,” you asserted.
“Everything that happens in this town is my business,” he replied, “and everything that happens to you is my problem.”
“It wouldn’t be a problem if you weren’t a jealous creep who followed me around,” you hissed.
Jimmy stepped out of the car, and both of you turned to look back at him.
“Everything alright?” he asked, and you weren’t sure if he was asking you or Lee.
“Can’t say that it is,” the Sheriff shook his head.  “Way I see it, this is public indecency for the both of you.”
“Sir, we didn’t mean to—”
“I’ll let you off with a warning,” Lee told Jimmy with a disappointed frown.
“Thank you, Sheriff,” you mumbled.
“Not you,” he turned back to you with a sigh.  “I'm afraid I'll have to detain you.  Can't give you special treatment just cause you're family.”
“What?!” you squawked.
“You heard me, girl.  Hands behind your back."
“You can’t be serious,” Jimmy protested.
“Didn’t I tell you to stay in your vehicle?” Lee remembered angrily, and Jimmy hesitated but obeyed.
As he cuffed your wrists, his hand drifted downward, cupping your ass and giving it a firm squeeze.
"Lee, don't…" you pleaded softly, "not here."
"Not here?” he whispered against your ear, making you shiver.  “Then where, princess?  You're never at home anymore.  When am I s'posed to make my girl feel good, huh?  When are you gonna take care of me?"
"You can take care of yourself," you grimaced.
"Oh, I do.  After your ma falls asleep," he chuckled.  "I get my cock off all by myself, thinking about you and your tight fuckin' hole."
You whimpered as he started to gather your skirt, rubbing his hands on your legs underneath.
"And what's this with you calling me Lee?  You know it's Sheriff in public, and Daddy at home."
“I’m sorry, Sheriff, I was just—”
“Come on, let’s get you to the car,” Lee grumbled as he roughly guided you to his patrol car, all but tossing you into the back.
“Where are you gonna take her?” Jimmy asked as he leaned out of his window, not seeming to have noticed the way Lee was touching you but still obviously uncomfortable.
“Home,” was all Lee replied as he got in the driver’s seat and slammed the door shut.
Of course, as he started to drive, you realized that was a lie.  He drove down winding roads in tense silence, until he pulled into a clearing in the woods and turned off the engine.
“You fucked up real big tonight,” he informed you as he turned back to look at you through the caged partition.
You just looked at your skirt, that damned yellow and white gingham that had gotten you into this mess.
“Get out, get in front of the car, and bend over the hood.”
He leaned back to open the door for you from the inside, and you shivered from the sudden blast of cool night air.  Lee watched you through the windshield with a dark glare as you walked around the car and laid yourself down over the hood.  The metal was cold; cold enough to seep through your clothes and make you shiver.  The whole world looked sideways when you saw it from this angle, but truthfully, your whole world felt completely upside down. You just waited like that for a moment— and it was the best he’d ever done to make you feel worthless, having you wait patiently for him to do what he was about to do to you.
Eventually, he stepped out with a gruff instruction not to move.  When his form was no longer visible in your peripheral vision, you felt him pressed up against the back of your legs as your skirt started to slide up.
“I try to be nice to ya,” he grunted, “treat you right, buy you things.  And what does it get me, huh?”
You didn’t say anything, because you were sure anything you would say would just make it worse.  With your skirt flipped up completely now, you could feel the cold autumn breeze on your legs as he pulled your panties to the side.
“I’m startin’ to think that kindness doesn’t go very far with you.  You like it best when I’m mean, dontcha?”
His belt made that terrible clinking sound as he opened it, and you felt his cock rubbing through your folds.
“Normally I would get you wetter first, but I think this’ll just have to do tonight.”
He pushed forward and it fucking burned.  You cried out, breathing through your teeth as you tried to bear the pain.  Behind your back, your nails dug into your palm.
He didn’t slow down at all, though, and fucked you faster and harder in spite of the sting.  Determined to get a reaction, he slapped your ass, too.
“Daddy!” you sobbed.  “It hurts!”
“You could’ve avoided it,” he yelled angrily.  “It didn’t have to be like this, but you wanted to act like a fuckin’ whore, and now you’re gettin’ treated like one.”
“I’m sorry!” you cried, wet tears warming the cold metal of the car beneath you. “I’m so sorry, daddy!”
Lee grabbed your hips tighter, surely enough to bruise.  Disturbingly, you felt yourself getting more aroused— it made it less painful physically, but so much more painful mentally.
“Told ya you like it rough,” he laughed.  “You’re already clenchin’ on me, I can tell you’re gonna come.”
You tried to shake your head, but he was right.  He reached up and pulled your hair roughly, making you yelp.  Even that made a pleasant tingle run down your spine, despite the fact that it hurt so much.
“You’re so fuckin’ close, princess,” he groaned, leaning down and watching your face closely, “you’re gonna come for your daddy, right fuckin’ now.”
You heard a twig snap before you knew what it was.  "What the fuck?!" another voice called out.
It was Jimmy, standing off just a few feet away in disbelief.  You closed your eyes, unable and unwilling to look at him in this moment.  Lee just sighed as he slipped out of you, stuffing his cock back into the pants of his uniform and zipping back up.  "You didn't see anything, kid."
"You… you're…” Jimmy stammered, “that's your stepdaughter!  The hell is wrong with you?"
"I said," Lee growled as he crossed the distance between him and Jimmy, pulling his gun from its holster and holding it under the boy’s neck, "ya didn't see nothin'."
"Don't hurt him, Lee, please!" you sobbed.
"Hey!" Lee yelped, turning back to look at you.  "You, shut up!"
"Don't talk to her like that!" Jimmy protested.  Lee responded with a swift backhanded slap, hitting Jimmy with his gun in the process.
"You'd better learn how to respect authority, son, and real damn soon before somebody hands your ass to ya.  I'm not doin' nothing wrong with her, I'll have you know.  She's of age, and I'm not forcin' her to do it.  She likes it,” Lee bragged, “begs me for it, day and night.  Frankly, I can barely keep up with her.  Now, get on and mind your business, and this won't be any trouble for you."
Jimmy hesitated a little, glancing over at you for a moment.  “You’re a sick bastard, Sheriff,” he sighed as he shook his head.
Lee just grinned, almost like he was proud of the title.  "Tell me somethin', Timmy—"
"It's Jimmy."
"Yeah, whatever— you kissed her, didn’t ya?"
"Yes."
Lee laughed, grabbing the boy on the shoulder as if they were old chums or something.  "Oh, kid, if only you knew where that mouth had been."
Jimmy looked disgusted as he glanced at you and then to the ground, before turning away to storm off into the woods.  Lee seemed so proud of himself as he walked back to you, pushing you down since you’d started to lean up off the car.
"Now, where were we?" he purred.
"I hate you," you sobbed, "I hate you!"
"Oh yeah, that's right— you were about to come all over my fuckin’ cock."
He quickly got himself back out and shoved into you again, hard and brutal thrusts slamming your hips forward painfully.
"I'd better not catch you with another stupid fuckin’ boy," he growled.  "You don't know how mean I can be, little girl.  You don't know everything I could do to them… you don't know everything I could do to you."
You tried your best to apologise again but the strength of your sobs made you nearly unintelligible.  Worse, you were so close to coming that you were starting to see stars.
"You're mine now, ya hear?" he moaned against your ear.  "Nobody else in this town is gonna touch you, or they'll have to answer to me.  Don't even want 'em lookin' atcha."
Your orgasm made your legs feel like jelly, your whole body going limp as all the energy to fight left you.  He kept fucking you strong and fast, overstimulating the most sensitive places inside you.  Your eyes rolled back in your head, your thoughts became fuzzy and distant, and all you could feel was overwhelming pleasure buzzing under your skin.
"Yours," you moaned weakly, "just yours, daddy…"
"Fuck, gonna come," he warned you, "gonna fill you up, sweetheart."
You nodded, the danger of that prospect feeling distant and abstract, while the best parts of it felt so close and tangible.  He groaned as he pumped his load into you, thick and hot and warming you from the inside out.  When he finally slowed to a stop and pulled out, you could feel a gush of it leak out of your opening and run down your thigh.
Silently, he uncuffed your wrists and helped you up off the car, sliding into the backseat with you with a quiet shut of the door behind him.  Something about the overwhelming sensations of it all, and the way it went from so loud to so quiet in just a moment, and his sudden switch from cruel to gentle, made your eyes water until you couldn't help but bawl.  You threw yourself into his arms and sobbed, clutching at his chest.
"I'm so sorry, daddy," you whimpered, "I didn't mean to do anything wrong…"
"Shh, it's okay, sweet girl," he cooed as he stroked your back soothingly.  "You know I only get upset like that cause I want the best for you."
"I know," you sighed, "I just wanted to be normal, you know?  Have a boyfriend like the other girls do, somebody I could marry someday."
"I get it," he nodded, "I don't blame you.  I wish we could leave this place, and start over where nobody knows where we are.  But you know I couldn't leave Knockemstiff… not when I'm about to win this election."
"If you can win here, maybe you can win somewhere else," you suggested.
He turned to look at you, a look of pleasant surprise on his face.  "You sayin you wanna run away with me, princess?"
"Umm…" you stalled.
"I know you wanna get away from your ma.  Hell, so do I.  You understand why I needed a wife though— people trust men with wives more," he explained matter-of-factly, "and not wives that are more than 20 years younger than them."
"So it was all a way to get reelected?"
"I was lonely too.  Marriage didn't fix that though.  You did."
You looked up at him and couldn't believe the way you felt when you did.  Sometimes you hated him even more than you did before he married your mother, but at times like this, you loved him in a way you'd never loved anybody before.  You wondered if maybe hating somebody like that sometimes was just the way love worked.
"Come on, sweet girl, let's go home," he suggested softly, kissing you on the forehead.
You nodded as he got out of the back and returned to the driver’s seat, starting the car.  Laying down, you watched the tops of the trees through the window— though it was quite dark out and there wasn’t a lot to see— and felt your eyelids get heavy.  Drifting to sleep, you dreamt in vivid colors of abstract things that you could never explain with words if you tried; though you couldn’t have known it, Lee watched you sleep in the rearview mirror, and did some dreaming of his own.
//
Midnight snacks; the least of your many bad habits.
You emerged from your room in your summer nightgown— which meant it was as thin as it needed to be for the heat outside— and stepped carefully over the floorboards you knew to creak the loudest as you made your clandestine trek to the mint-colored refrigerator.
As you moved through the living room to get to your destination, you jumped when a figure shifted in the darkness.  Realizing it was Lee, you relaxed (mostly).
"You scared me," you giggled.  "What are you doing on the couch?"
He groaned as he sat up, rubbing his head and looking a little exhausted.  "Uh, nothing… what are you doing up?”
“Just getting a snack,” you admitted, “hope you don’t mind.”
“Don’t stop on my account.  I was thinkin’ of a beer anyways,” he shrugged, following you to the fridge as you opened it.  His shirtlessness was a little distracting as he stood behind you, looking over your shoulder and reaching around to grab the glass bottle.  Settling on a leftover slice of cake wrapped in saran, you set your bounty on the counter while Lee opened and took a sip of his drink.
“Is it good?” he asked you once you’d acquired a fork and scooped a bite of the sweet, sugary dessert into your mouth.
You nodded, smiling but trying to keep your lips together to avoid spitting the food out.  It was a few days old but somehow it tasted better than it had when it was fresh— maybe it was that it was cold on a hot night, or maybe it was that you’d had to navigate a nauseatingly-boring baby shower in order to get some the first time.  Your mother insisted on dragging you along to all kinds of ridiculous community events like that.
Your next bite was more ambitious, because you weren’t exactly worried about eating in a ladylike manner when it was past midnight and you were eating cake in your pyjamas.
“You got some frostin’ on your nose,” Lee informed you— but before you could wipe it off, he took his finger and swiped it right on the tip of your nose.  You felt yourself blush a bit as he licked the blue cream off of his finger.  “It’s sweet,” he announced, “but maybe that’s just you.”
As warmth bloomed in your chest from his kindness (even if it was cheesy), you felt a little bolder to press him about what was actually going on.
“Why were you really on the couch?” you asked softly.
He paused for a second, taking a long, slow sip of beer as he thought, but finally answered.  “I got kicked out of the bed.  Your ma… well, she doesn't handle rejection very well it seems."
"Rejection…?" you encouraged, feeling a bit nervous suddenly.
"I wouldn't sleep with her,” he clarified.  “And now I'm sleepin’… here."
You swallowed, even though you weren’t eating at that exact moment.  "Why… why wouldn't you sleep with her?"
He smirked a little.  "Sweetheart, once you've had a taste of rare meat, you never go back to well done."
The comparison to meat was demeaning, even if you came out on the flattering end of the metaphor.  Still, you took pity on him as you saw how uncomfortable the couch looked.
"You could sleep in my bed, you know,” you offered awkwardly.  “I mean, it's not as big as yours but… it's definitely bigger than the couch…"
He smiled at you in a way that made you wonder if you'd made a mistake.  "You're too sweet, darlin'.  Even for your own good."
The rest of your cake and his beer was forgotten as you walked with each other to your bedroom, now both of you avoiding the creakiest boards.  You couldn’t ignore the way he shut the door behind you as quietly as possible— another reminder that, though neither of you were saying it, that this was the sort of thing you didn’t want to be overheard.  The secrecy of it all made your spine tingle, and you liked it.  Who knew a good girl like you would learn to love breaking the rules so much?
It wasn't as strange as you'd expected to have him in your bed.  A little cramped, maybe, but also oddly nice.  He cuddled up to you, and you felt small but safe in his arms.  When his lips pressed against the back of your neck, you whimpered softly; and when his fingers started to trail down between your legs, you moaned a bit louder.
"Gotta be quiet, pretty girl, don't want anybody else in the house hearin' ya…"
You'd never known how good it could feel to be touched until Lee touched you.  His fingers found every delicate spot and slowly took you apart until it became near impossible to stay quiet.  So quickly after invading your body, he invaded your mind as well, and now he was all you could think about.  Not just in moments like this, disturbingly, but damn-near all the time.  It wasn’t that you forgot everything you hated about him, but more that you forgot how to feel the hate and instead could only logically try to convince yourself to hate him still.  Logic was long gone, though, as he kissed your shoulder and pushed two thick fingers into you.
"You're so wet, honey, you're gonna spoil me," he purred softly against your ear.  "Want me to love ya good, sweet girl?"
You nodded quickly, smiling wide.
He smiled back as rolled you onto your back and slipped between your legs, pushing his pyjama pants down.  You preened when you felt his cock start to slide over your pussy.  When he suddenly pushed in, you gasped and arched your back.
"Shh," he soothed, "it's okay, baby, you can take it.  You're so good, princess, my good girl…"
You whimpered but kept mostly quiet as he thrusted deeper, nearly all the way in.  Was he always going to be this much of a challenge to take?
"Keep those legs open real wide, honey, show me how bad you want it," he purred.
Your head craned up to watch his cock disappearing inside you, only to fall back again as he pulled back and pushed in, over and over, fucking you slow but deep.
"Daddy," you whimpered softly, "feels so good, please don't stop…"
He kissed you, cradling your face in his hands.  "Not gonna stop, princess, 'm right here, not gonna letcha go…"
You clutched at his shoulders, feeling so full that it almost hurt but you loved it, god you loved it more than you could’ve ever believed.  You loved the feeling of him inside you, like you were made for each other.  You loved his little breaths and moans, and knowing it was because of you that he felt good.  You loved it, even, when he went a bit too deep and your arms shot up to push him back, only for him to grab your wrists and hold your hands above your head.
"My girl," he whispered into your ear, "my girl, my girl, my girl."
And shockingly enough, you loved being his girl.
"I love you, daddy," you sighed, so quiet that you were afraid he wouldn't hear you.  But he did.
"Say it again," he requested.
"I love you," you repeated, "I love you so much, daddy."
"I love you too, princess," he answered with a smile, "more than you can imagine."
He kissed you as his thrusts gained some speed, your walls already fluttering each time he pushed all the way in.  You knew he felt it because you could tell that he was still smiling into the kisses he placed on your neck and shoulders.  You knew he was close, too, because it was his cock beginning to swell and flex within you that pushed you over the edge.  He helped you stay quiet by wrapping his hand around your neck and tightening until you started to see stars.  It made everything stronger, so much so that it quickly became overwhelming as tears quickly began to pour down the sides of your face.
He was quick to comfort you though, relaxing his grip and wiping the tears away with reverently-whispered praises.
“Don’t pull out yet, daddy,” you requested softly, wrapping your legs around his hips when you felt that he was trying to pull back.  “I like feeling you inside me…”
He kissed you again, gripping your thigh tight, and stayed that way until you finally agreed that he could go— and who were you to say how long you made him wait?  It felt too good to let him go so soon, even if he was exhausted.  As soon as you nodded, though, he was slipping out and sighing.
"Fuck it, I'm not gonna wait any longer," he groaned as he laid back onto your bed, staring at the ceiling, "I wanna make you mine for good."
You laid your head on his shoulder, looking up at him and admiring the little details of his face that you could only see when you were this close.  "I thought you said you'd never leave Knockemstiff."
"I don't think I have to.  What's the point of bein' the Sheriff if I can't marry who I want?"
You bit your lip a little before replying to that.  "You really wanna marry me?"
"Of course I do, princess,” he smiled proudly, looking back at you.  “Might have to wait a while if I'm s'posed to save up for another one of them diamond rings…"
"I don't need one, long as I have you," you decided confidently.
"You're too good to me, sweetheart," he smirked, kissing your temple softly.  "Can't wait to spoil you the way you deserve."
“How’s that?” you pressed, drawing abstract shapes onto his chest with your fingertip.
“A bigger bed than this,” he laughed.  “A nice car— if you want your own, that is.  You know I’d love to have you shotgun with me in the patrol car as much as I can.”
“You’d really get me a car?”
“Of course, after a little while.  What kind would you want?”
“A red one.  A real glossy red one.”
“Alright,” he smirked.  “How about I getcha somethin’ else fancy— pearls, maybe?  A girl like you deserves to wear pearls every day.”
“You think I’d look good in them?”
“Mm, especially if you weren’t in much else.”
“Okay, I could wear pearls if you bought them for me.  Maybe I’ll be one of those wives who’s wearing pearls and heels when her husband gets home from work.”
“Fuck, talkin’ like that’ll get me hard again, princess,” he groaned.  “Anythin’ else you want?”
“...I want a baby,” you admitted softly, embarrassed to even say it.
“I’ll put one in ya right now, sweetpea,” he purred.  “Well, maybe not right now, I need a minute or two but… I could’ve already gotten you pregnant, you know.  I’m no good at pullin’ out when it comes to you and that tight little pussy.”
“Is it strange if I sort of hope you did?  Get me pregnant already, I mean.”
“Not at all,” he shook his head, “at least not to me.  But I’m a little stranger than most.”
“Yes, that’s the impression I get,” you giggled.
“Maybe it’s strange that I think you’d look beautiful pregnant, all round and glowin’, with my baby in ya…” he trailed off, clearly imagining it.
“Maybe it’s strange that I think you’re the most handsome man in all of Ohio,” you winked, snuggling up closer to him.
“That is most certainly strange,” Lee laughed.

I am: back on my bullshit again
People were looking for a part 2 so have more Basilio x OC stuff. Spoiler warning for Verdugo: Takutan because this story heavily references its lore and events! The comics are known to be darker in tone, and so is this fic, so heed the warnings above. No Taglish version this time, Darling niyo pagod na 😩
This was supposed to be a simple job.
Get in, rough up House of Arko’s operation while Bossing is paying them a visit in their mansion, get out, and watch as Bossing confronts them about it at the next social gathering they’ll host.
But nothing was ever simple about the aswang, right?
Now there’s a huge one trying to eat Basilio alive.
“Damn it, Basilio. Your recklessness is a bad habit that’ll bite us in the ass later!” his older brother berates him.
“Yeah, yeah, whatever! Now might be the right time to call for backup kuya,” he strains, attempting to pull the  magubat’s jaw apart with his superhuman strength. His fingers slip from the drool and it almost bites his hands off.
Crispin’s busy with a horde of mailap, taking turns in taking pot shots from him in the shadows. “We should’ve taken a page from Carlos’ book and brought palm fronds. Who should we call?”
“What about Maliksi?” Basilio suggests.
“What’s one tikbalang to all these aswangs? We need something bigger, maybe a higante to take on that magubat!”
“Gago, a higante can’t get here as fast as a tikbalang!” Basilio snaps.
“Mas gago ka! What about that playmate of ours from when we were kids, y’know, the one that tipped Bossing off about this whole trafficking operation anyway? Think she can fly her way here?” Crispin growls, shooting down a mailap who was foolish enough to ambush the more cautious twin from above.
Ah, yes. Sabina.
Boyish, intimidating, hard to figure out- but still hot enough to flirt with, despite being aswang; that’s how Basilio would describe her. This Sab was a far cry from the Sabina Marie he once knew years ago, the one who used to wear an all-girl Catholic school uniform, shyly shared her snacks and books with him, and kissed him farewell when her mama told her she’ll not be coming with her to meetings with the lakan anymore.
A few days after they caught up with each other, she turned up at the Diabolical not too long ago with a flash drive for Alex’s eyes only. She didn’t even breathe a word to him, much less look at his direction, but Basilio could only surmise that it’s his fault.
“Sabina? Well, manananggals who follow the queen can shoot. It’s- ungh- worth the shot!” Basilio answers back, straining as he gets swatted to the side with one gigantic claw. “You make the call, my hands are full!”
“Give me your phone, I don’t have her Facespace.”
Basilio looks down from several feet, and gives his brother a sheepish smile. “Uhhh, okay, but she’s been seenzoning me.”
From behind his mask, Crispin frowns. “What did you do?”
“She might’ve seen me tagged in Ammie’s story when I was supposed to watch her gig. I got there when her set was ending, and she was pissed.”
Grumbling, Crispin takes his frustrations off on a mabangis charging towards him, a flurry of bullets raining upon its body. “What did Bossing say about getting personal with informants?”
“What? It’s Sab. She’s-”
“An aswang who might have an ulterior motive in helping us. Tangina Basilio, think with your head sometimes! The one between your shoulders!”
Distracted, Basilio failed to stop the jaws of the magubat from closing in on him. As quickly as his reflexes allow, he tosses his brother his phone.
“Just call already! Tell her it’s an emergency.”
The older Kambal flies up and extends his free hand to catch it. Crispin launches Basilio’s Facespace app and begins to search for their informant. He found her under the name Sab Evasco. Crispin pretended not to see the string of messages Basilio left for her, all left on read.
Her phone rings. One time. Two times. Three times. Crispin dials again. Twice. Thrice.
Someone picks up. He puts the call on the loudspeaker.
There’s someone strumming a guitar in the background, accompanied by a drumset’s cymbals. They come to a halt and Crispin hears a frustrated woman’s voice from the other end of the line.
“Ulol gago, fuck you Basilio, you can tell me if you’d rather go on Starbreaks coffee dates with a wind girl than watch me play.  I’m a grown woman, I can handle a simple ‘no’. I’m not in the mood for your games! Now fuck off, I don’t want to hear from you. I have a gig to practice for.”
Basilio cringes as he listens to Sabina’s tirade. Crispin guns a charging mabangis down, and his mask dematerializes for a brief moment, just enough for him to mouth to his brother “Gago ka talaga.”
“Sabina, it’s Crispin. We could use some backup here. We’re being swarmed by aswang.”
The sound of a guitar being unceremoniously dropped and the mad shuffle to catch it can be heard from Sabina’s line, followed by quick footsteps. Sabina talks again, calmer this time. “What? Couldn’t Basilio get his own ass on the phone and tell me himself?”
With an exasperated expression, Crispin turns on the camera, and points the phone at Basilio, who’s caught between the magubat’s jaws. “He said you were ignoring him, and he can’t get on the phone right now, as you can see.”
The Kambal heard her fumbling with more equipment, which sounded like a guitar case being zipped up and carried. A brief argument with her bandmates follows, then Sabina talks again.
“I’ll be there. Stay on the line.”
Now they wait.
As much as Crispin wanted to help his little brother, his hands were full with the wave after wave of aswang coming after them. They’re relentless. This is their food supply the Kambal are cutting off, after all.
“Any luck with Sab?” Basilio asks, attempting to shoot the roof of the mabangis’ mouth.
The bullets barely penetrate the thick membrane. He’ll need to transform the Armas Infinitum into a more powerful weapon to lobotomize the gigantic aswang, but seeing how he’s separated from his twin, it’s impossible at the moment.
“She said she’s on the way. She’s still on the phone. Here!”
Crispin throws the phone back to Basilio, who catches it with one hand, while his other arm continues to struggle with the magubat trying to swallow him whole. He tucks it in his breast pocket, and he jumps near the row of the magubat’s front teeth, prying it open with both arms.
Through the aswangs’ growls, Basilio could faintly hear a woman cursing and the jingling of keys from the other side of the line.
“Hey Sab! It’s Basilio. Sorry again about missing your gig.”
“Shut up and hang tight. If I didn’t care for you at all...” Sabina snaps. Basilio could barely make out the words Sabina was saying due to the wind and sound of traffic. “I’m on my way.”
“Ngh, can’t you come any sooner? I heard that aswang intestines are nasty.” Basilio pauses, realizing his mistake. “No offense.”
“I said zip it. Isn’t it enough that I went out of hiding and agreed to be Trese’s informant? Now I have to be your backup too?”
“Working with Bossing has its risks. We made that clear, princess.”
“Don’t call me that.”
There’s more turbulence and wind from Sabina’s line. If Basilio guessed, she’s now flying to the scene. The Kambal’s struggle with the aswang continued until they heard their informant’s voice through the speakers again.
“Big bad war demigods can’t handle a single fucking magubat?” Sabina deadpans, the turbulence and noise no longer accompanying her voice. “Open the fucker’s mouth wide. Make sure he’s facing east.”
“Kuya! She’s in the area, help me pry the jaws open!” the younger Kambal shouts to his older brother, who dodges a leaping mailap and quickly flies up to his aid.
“What’s the plan?” Crispin asks, and Basilio shrugs.
“I don’t know, she just asked me to do it!”
Before Crispin could question Basilio, a shot rings throughout the building, and the magubat collapses. The Kambal let go of the heavy jaws and flew away, watching the near-twenty foot aswang crush a few of its regular-sized kind. Upon closer inspection, a bullet has torn its way through the roof of its mouth. It’s a clean shot. The magubat isn’t regenerating, much to the Kambal’s surprise.
It’s a pleasant surprise, nonetheless.
“That’s for trying to eat my brother,” Crispin spits, kicking the dead aswang’s head.
Soon, more of the aswang started dropping like flies, too. Razed by bullets from an unknown assailant, the House of Arko aswangs started to panic.
“Wait a minute, I know manananggals who follow the queen can shoot, but Sabina is a sniper? Do you know about this, Bas?” Crispin exclaims, tearing his eyes away from the dead magubat to face yet another wave of mabangis.
“No! Damn, she’s using special bullets too. Where’d she get those?” Basilio mutters. A mailap attempts an ambush attack, and before he could react, Basilio watches it get shot mid-air as it attempts to jump him.
“You’re mine,” Sabina hisses, her voice crackling through Basilio’s phone speaker, smooth through the static.
Her emphasis on the word “mine” made goosebumps ripple through Basilio’s arm.
“Hot. Could you say that again?”
What he got instead was a groan. “Fuck, don’t distract me Basilio. I’m not here for fun.”
“You seem to be having fun shooting House of Arko’s minions though.”
“Fair. You two better look for the hostages. I have a bone to pick with this lot.”
The Kambal looks at each other, and nods. Glass shatters as they fly out the building’s windows, to the upper floors. After taking care of the guards, they saw them. Men and women in cages, all naked, and herded like livestock.
“Please, help us,” one of them whimpers, crawling to the front of the cage and grabbing Crispin by the arm. She’s dirty, and her belly is swollen. Basilio turned on the lights and they saw it clear as day: most of these women are pregnant. It didn’t take a genius to figure out what was going on.
House of Arko farms their food, breeding humans like livestock, and harvesting fetuses from them.
Sirens are blaring outside, both from police cars and ambulances, waiting for the hostages to be rescued.
All is well, or so they thought.
“Fuck!”
The cry came from their informant’s line.
“Everything alright?” Basilio asks her after fishing his phone out of his breast pocket.
“There are a few of them who found my vantage point. They’re heading towards my position.”
“Get out of there already, the hostages are secure.”
“They saw me. I can’t let them report back to Mama Grande and her sons that a manananggal is helping you. Suspicion would fall on my clan.”
Crispin nudges his younger brother. “I’ll handle the hostages and wait for Bossing. You make sure our informant’s alright.”
“Way ahead of you kuya,” Basilio replies, taking his guns out and flying out the window.
Under the pale moonlight and the city’s lights, Basilio spots a group of aswang scaling a dilapidated building east of him. On the rooftop, he sees it. Wings black as night, flattened against the concrete. Sabina lies prone and is aiming her scoped hunting rifle downwards, picking off the advancing horde one by one.
“Time to play.” The demigod rushes in and makes bullets rain on the hostiles.
He takes out a mabangis approaching their sniper from her blind spot. Those who didn’t die from being shot fell to their death, regeneration halted either by his or Sabina’s doing.
Basilio descends on the rooftop, and he walks his way towards the manananggal. His mask dematerialized, and the wind tousled his long hair. Just to be safe, he kept a pistol in one hand.
Across him, Sabina takes out her wireless earbuds and puts them away. Then, she slings her rifle on her shoulder, safety on. With her wings, she crawled towards his direction, like how a bat would move. Then, uses her wings’ sharp claws to plant herself on the concrete, a feat regular bats couldn’t do.
“Thanks for the help, Sab. About that gig…”
Before any more words could come out of his mouth, Sabina holds up her forefinger and presses it against his lips. “Shh. No more apologizing about the missed gig. Just make up for it. You owe me.”
Basilio nods, smiling at her. He watches as Sabina fishes out a box of cigarettes and a lighter from her vest. She’s wearing a black, long-sleeved polo shirt underneath it, and its sleeves are rolled up. Her shirt was unbuttoned just enough for him to catch a glimpse of lace peeking through. For all her boyish, edgy posturing, her choice of underclothes is girlier than what Basilio expected.
It almost makes him want to unwrap her like a Christmas present, but he’ll keep that thought to himself.
“Nice outfit. You were rehearsing in that?”
“We had a presentation for a class. No time to get changed. Now there’s a hole in the back, so I might as well wear this more often on future operations,” Sabina replies, placing a stick of Marlborough Reds between her lips.
“I’m in the mood for a smoke and maybe a chat,” she continues. “Join me?”
Basilio nods.
“How did you know about House of Arko’s human trafficking thing, anway?”
“Believe it or not, it was a hunch,” Sabina explains, black fingernails scratching the sparkwheel several times. “Ugh, fucking lighter dying on me again. I just had it refilled… must be the wind,” she growls.
Basilio couldn’t help but chuckle at her frustration. “A hunch?”
“Hmm… maybe hunch isn’t the right word. It’s an educated guess. Mama Grande loved serving boiled fetuses to her house guests, correct?”
Basilio nods, waiting for Sabina to continue her explanation.
“I suppose that it’s my place to judge if their mothers didn’t want to raise them… I’m a manananggal, for fuck’s sake. But there’s one red flag House of Arko failed to hide. From what I can tell, those fetuses are around five to eight months old.”
Sabina’s lighter finally lit up, and with a triumphant laugh, she lit her cigarette. Then, she carries on with her explanation.
“Most abortions happen during the first three months of pregnancy. It’s rare to see expecting parents get rid of them that late.”
“So? What does that have to do with the whole thing?”
“House of Arko serving older fetuses could mean one of two things: either all, and I mean all of the abortions they performed are from those who are truly in need of one that late, or they’re getting them from another source, possibly an illicit one. They don’t have the most benevolent reputation, so my intuition tells me it was the latter. So, I paid the place a visit and recorded what I could. I guess I should be thankful that your bossing found that blurry video trustworthy enough,” Sabina concluded, watching as the victims were clothed and herded into ambulances.
Dumbfounded, Basilio scratches his head. “Wow. Glad you’re on our side. How did you know that three month thing anyway?”
“Research and personal accounts.” Sabina’s response is clipped. Cold. Abrupt. It only raised more questions than answers.
“Personal accounts? You’ve met people who got them?”
There’s a flash of regret in Sabina’s eyes; regret that she opened her mouth and let him know more than needed. She cuts him off. “I can’t put my informants’ identities in jeopardy either now, can I?”
Per his older twin’s advice, Basilio’s finally using the head between his shoulders. “No offense, but you’re a manananggal. Y’know, known for eating babies? Hearing that from you is suspicious.”
“Yes, I am,” Sabina says through gritted teeth, glaring at him. “I can assure you, I’m following the accords and I’m not exploiting loopholes like what House of Arko is doing. I’ll reveal everything in due time.”
“Alright, keep your secrets. For now.”
A tense silence has befallen them.
“So- '' the manananggal blows a cloud of smoke away from Basilio, “-is this going to be a regular thing? Because if it is, I might finally quit smoking. Nicotine makes my hands shaky. Can’t risk accidentally shooting your ass.” She pauses, looking at him in jest. “ I’d rather do that intentionally.”
“You’re breaking my heart, Sabina Marie,” Basilio retorts, clutching his chest in mock pain.
They share a laugh over it, the mood lightening up.
Basilio looks in the distance, taking in the view of the cityscape. “Maybe you should quit. Singers shouldn’t be smoking in the first place.”
“The tar helps me belt out raspy screams, but yeah, you’re right,” Sabina chuckles.
“So, when is this next gig?”
“Next week. In Ilocos Norte. All the way up in House of Arko’s ancestral home.”
“Should I take that info to Bossing?”
“Yep. It’s open to the supernatural public anyway, so it's not like I’m giving you top secret info. Even the wind tribe is invited, despite their bad blood with my clan. Hopefully things won’t get physical. Most of my sisters are still bitter over how they blew us away when my mom- I mean, Inang Reyna decided to side against the Treses.”
So that explains some things.
“I dunno, maybe I should bring Ammie so I can watch the two of you in a catfight.”
Sabina elbows him in the chest, hard.
“Not funny at all, Basilio. I don’t even know her personally! It’s you I was pissed at.”
Now he grabs his chest in genuine pain as he croaks out an apology. “Sorry.”
“Whatever. Bring whoever the hell you want, just keep your distance from me when you decide to go. Even my father’s going to be there. I need to be on my best behavior.”
The demigod turns to their aswang informant, interest piqued. She’s divulging a lot of information. Perhaps he can sway her to spill more secrets.
“Didn’t know that the Reyna Manananggal had a king.”
“Oh, no. She’s not the type to share her power with a man.” Sabina pauses to take another hit of her cigarette. “I meant my biological father. Villaceran.”
Now that was unexpected.
“You drop bombshell after bombshell whenever we meet. Tomas Dominic Villaceran’s your old man?”
“Look at me. I’m almost the splitting image of the guy. If there’s one thing I’m grateful for, it’s inheriting his good looks.”
Basilio grins. “Can’t deny that. Most of the manananggal kuya Crispin and I encountered look...”
“Hideous, I know,” Sabina says outright. “You still haven’t seen that side of me, so don’t be too quick to judge my sisters.”
Basilio treads carefully, knowing that he might be prying on a sensitive subject. “So, about Villaceran…”
“I’d rather not talk about him. Our relationship is… strained.”
Giving her a sympathetic, understanding look, Basilio nods. “Right. Never mind.”
Another interval of silence passes between them. This time, it’s a little somber.
“So, does this party have a dress code?”
“Yeah. Filipiniana. Wear a barong. It’s one of those pretentious events that attempts to make House of Arko more appealing to the masses or whatever. Manipulative assholes.”
“You can just refuse to go, Sab.”
“I could, but being Trese’s mole among the aswang means I have to attend clan activities to supply more information. That also means attending every single party those Arko fucks throw.”
“You really hate House of Arko, huh?”
Looking towards his direction to meet his gaze, Sabina’s eyes are filled with a sea of emotions. Hatred, indignation, and something Basilio couldn’t quite place.
“Why wouldn’t I? Mama Grande raised boys who can’t take no for an answer. The Arko brothers have no respect for us manananggal. As if we weren’t fetishized enough in Manong Karma’s stupid aswang dating book...”
Sabina clears her throat and calms herself down. Bad blood between aswang clans could mean war. Basilio knows he should take that to the boss. His gears are turning tonight. He asks Sabina questions that could risk her support.
“Is that why you agreed to be an informant? You wanna bring House of Arko down? Then what, your clan will fill the space they’ll leave?”
“What? No, I have no desire for power, not like how Mama Grande or my own mother does anyway. My personal gripes with them aside, the House of Arko wants to ‘unite the aswang under one banner’ with no respect to the other clans’ autonomy and customs.”
“So you wanna protect your clan?”
“That’s one of the reasons, yes. Mama Grande’s been trying to play kumare with mom- I mean Inang Reyna-” This is the second time Sabina slipped and called her mom. She clears her throat and composes herself. “And I need to stop that. Inang Reyna already made the mistake of going against the Accords once. Allying with the House of Arko will ruin us further.”
Basilio leans in closer. “And what are your other reasons?”
Sabina looks at him for a few, quiet seconds, and looks away. “I’ll reveal them-”
“In due time. Yeah, yeah, I can take that as an answer. So, making you sing in that event is a result of them being magkumare?”
A defeated laugh bubbles from Sabina’s chest. “You got it.”
“I’m surprised they didn’t invite sirena to sing.”
Sabina rolls her eyes and tosses the butt of her expended cigarette on the concrete. Basilio took it upon himself to crush the embers under his heel, seeing how her lower half is hidden someplace else.
“Oh please, this is House of Arko we’re talking about, Bas. They believe aswang are superior. Letting them shine would take away the spotlight from the aswang. Mama Grande asked for me from Inang Reyna so they can gloat that even aswang can make better singers than the famed sirena. Ugh, I doubt my singing style even matches the performance they want from me.”
“Oh yeah? What kind of performance are they going for?” he asks her.
“Now that’s another secret. You have to show up to find out,” she hums in response.
Turning away from him, Sabina checks how many sticks are left in the box. Two. She takes one and lights it up.
“Screw it, I’m going cold turkey. I guess this will be my final box. Maybe for tonight. Maybe forever.”
“Then maybe you should stop with the stick you’re smoking and throw the last one away,” Basilio suggests.
“Are you mad? That’s a waste of money!”
“Still counting your blessings even with your mama’s wealth huh?”
“Old habits die hard.”
Sabina blows smoke away from Basilio’s direction. The wind made it waft to his face anyway, and she mumbles a quick apology. He shrugs it off. Not like the adverse effects of secondhand smoke affected him anyway. Hank smoked and was polite enough to turn away too, but Basilio can still smell it. He didn’t mind it. Still, Hank had told him and Crispin that it was a tough habit to break, so he never touched a cigarette.
Not until now.
Basilio takes the box from Sabina and picks up the last stick with his lips. Then, he inches closer to her.
Ironically, in an attempt to help an old friend quit her smoking habit, Basilio engages in it himself.
Little did he know, a new bad habit was forming between him and the little lady before him.
“I’ll make sure it won’t go to waste then. Light me.”
Sabina raises an eyebrow. “Just don’t start at all. Give it back.”
“One smoke isn’t going to get me hooked, princess.”
Brows knitted together, Sabina chastises him. “Take it from me, bad habits start with just one little taste, Bas.”
“One little taste never hurts anyone...”
“One little taste could leave you wanting for more.”
Basilio can feel himself getting hot under the collar. He’d never thought an aswang of all creatures could make him feel all bothered, yet there he was, getting turned on by her choice of words.
“Princess, are we still talking about cigarettes, or something else?”
Hearing his question, Sabina exhales sharply through her nose, cheeks dusted pink. “Maybe both. Whatever. Come here.”
Black fingernails scratched at the sparkwheel. Sparks were flying, but there was no flame. The cigarette remained unlit.
“Well, it looks like fate isn’t letting you smoke, so better just give me the damn cigarette back, Basilio.”
With a sly look, Basilio closes in on her, and presses the end of his cigarette to the embers at the end of hers, linking them together.
To his surprise, Sabina is neither backing away nor babbling defensively like she usually does whenever he gets close. Instead, she presses her chest to his, a challenging look in her half-lidded eyes. She wasn’t wearing her glasses like usual, giving Basilio an unobstructed view of her heated gaze. Was it bloodlust or desire? Either way, it got his blood pumping.
“You’re chattier than usual tonight,” Basilio comments. “Bolder too. I like that.”
In the form she’s in now, Sabina’s eyes glowed an eerie white, and aside from the wings sprouting from her back, little horns sprouted from her scalp, the root concealed by her crown of short, wavy hair. Basilio didn’t pay mind to her dangling guts, instead, his eyes were transfixed on that cute little lace bra again.
Through the layers of cloth between them, he can feel her heart beating. Basilio faintly remembers the taste of human and sigbin hearts.
Now, what does aswang heart taste like?
A dark part of his psyche- perhaps from being Datu Talagbusao’s son- wanted to tear it out of her chest and eat it to find out.
Basilio felt the urge to taste all the battles she fought through her blood, and possess her heart in a way no other person can.
The memory of seeing his father tasting his mother’s blood inserts itself in the present, and the fear of turning into the monster he was is enough for him to shake that thought away.
Basilio tries to focus on something else.
His eyes wander to Sabina’s mouth. He might’ve imagined something else between her dark lips, in place of the cigarette. Something bigger.
Something of his.
Sabina’s been pliable tonight. Perhaps he’ll push his luck with her one last time.
“So, any plans tonight, dear princess?”
“Unless you intend to treat me like one, don’t call me that.”
“I’m done with work, so if you want me to make good on that and make up for my mistake…”
Giggling, Sabina flies a few feet away from him. The black wings on her back are translucent against the pale moonlight. They almost looked like a dark shade of red.
“Go tell your brother about the information I gave you for now, then meet up with me afterwards. I hid my lower half in an alleyway behind that motel,” she tells him, pointing to the building’s direction.
“If you’re lucky, you’ll get to rearrange my guts. Literally and figuratively.” Sabina continues, a naughty smirk blooming on her lips.
Taken aback by the pun, Basilio laughs. “I didn’t think you were capable of dirty jokes.”
“You should know by now that I’m full of secrets and surprises.”
Grinning darkly, Basilio finishes the rest of his cigarette as he watches her fly away.
“And I’ll uncover them all, dear princess.”

A Third Submission to the Imagines Society”
(League of villains meets an Autistic child with a quirk that is the definition of too good for this world and then some)
You were a tiny thing when Twice, Toga and Magne stumbled across you at the park, staring intently at what looked like your shoes with your back turned.
Magne summarized that you were most likely around 5 or 6 years old based on the kindergarten uniform you wore, the adorable hat hanging on your back while your (h/l), (h/s) (h/c) was out and about. Usually, the tree would lose interest after a while and go about their merry way.
But there was something about you that made them stay, Toga’s curiosity getting the best of her as she skipped over to where you were on your knees, she then peeked over a shoulder to see you staring in awe at butterfly that was softly moving it’s wings while resting on the petals of a blossom planted in the nearby garden.
It was one that she had never seen before, well at least in real life, but the sandy blonde remembered that she had once seen it on the internet somewhere.
It was a monarch butterfly, and last she or anyone else knew, the species were hanging by a thread and close to extinction over the last 56 years. She had admit that the pictures were close to nothing compared to the real thing as Toga watched with starry eyes at how the orange colors splashed with black and white glowed in the sunlight.
Magne herself, followed by Twice then decided to follow toga’s lead when she began to giggle like an actual schoolgirl instead of the blood obsessed vampire they knew and loved. The two peeking at the sight of both you and Toga being the surprising perches of a collection of what looked to be more Monarch butterflies that seemingly appeared out of no where.
And one of them was perched right on the tip of Toga’s nose.
Meanwhile, you had taken notice that you had a butterfly watching buddy the second you felt her crouched down next to you, your glowing (e/c) eyes staring at her with curiosity before deciding that she was interesting enough for you to deem her harmless, despite not knowing the truth.
Because in your young and innocent head, anyone that appreciated butterflies as much as you did was a good person and/or possible friend in your book.
She looked at you when she felt your eyes on her and gave you a big smile, which from what you learned meant that she was happy. So that meant that she likes you too. You smiled widely back and a series of bright rainbow colored balls of light lifted themselves off your little form, your quirk creating more butterflies from them while your new friend’s eyes sparkled.
Your quirk was called Wonder, the specialist who gave it that name having been inspired by the same emotion felt after witnessing you use your quirk at first hand to bring a rat back to life after it had been killed by a mousetrap, and later on when they returned back to the room to see that it had been filled with butterflies flying beautifully above them.
Nowadays, you mainly used your quirk to create butterflies.
Why?
Because butterflies made you happy, they made you calm, they took your worries away... and watching them was akin to what your therapist at the orphanage called stimming, your hand movements if you easily became overwhelmed resembling a butterfly flapping it’s delicate wings.
You were also fond of anything that felt like the texture closest to what you thought butterfly wings looked. However, this obsession was also the reason why your were ostracized by the other children, ignored completely by them at the worst despite how hard the workers at the orphanage tried to explain what your condition was.
You didn’t understand why the workers had the need to get the other kids to like you, if you wanted friends, you’d get some yourself on your own.
And you never understood why you had to take speech therapy, wasn’t writing in your notebook enough? You hated loud noises, they scared away things, things that are... nice.
Things like butterflies and rats and rabbits and deer, which meant that you couldn’t appreciate them anymore if they left.
So, why was there a need to make noise or let alone talk? You could never control how loud your voice was anyways. You didn’t care about how sometimes you overheard the caretakers at the orphanage whispered things about how alien you acted.
Which led to where you were now, little you having completely forgotten that you were separated from the other children heading back towards the orphanage after school had finished when you eyes spotted a flower that looked familiar until your quirk manifested the butterfly.
They sounded as if you were broken as a human.
When in reality you weren’t, you weren’t broken and needed to be fixed. At first it made you believe those words, but the moments where your eyes caught onto anything relating to those paper thin wings that radiated with the colors of the rainbow, you’re mind went to an alternate world where those who spoke about your strangeness were nonexistent.
It was then that you remembered seeing the same flower from the picture book at your school, the pink and green flora being the type of chosen roost for the orange, white and black insect to rest on if they got tired.
You never knew how much time passed when you felt your new friend’s presence near you until you turned around silently to see a schoolgirl older than your smiling peacefully at your creation, who then smiled at you.
Smiles meant something good, right?
Your quirk activated instinctually, your subconscious telling you to make your friend happy again by creating more things that made her happy, like how butterflies made you happy. You watched as the manifested insects flew over to the girl and rested on her shoulders, two nestled on the wild hair of her twin buns and one on her nose, the sensation of it’s delicate wings tickling her skin bringing a giggle out of her.
You copied her, giggling as well as you knew that laughing is what friends did. The exchange between you two led to a pair of others appearing behind your friend, the both of them watching in awe at how gentle you were.
Meanwhile in their perspective, Twice and big sis Magne were in awe.
This was a side of Toga that the pair had never seen before, so their interest in you grew steadily as they approached you both, seeing that the number of butterflies had grown the closer the became, the same orbs of light appearing to change into other species before the skies above the park had clouds of multicolored wings flying above like a piece of artwork created by nature.
It felt like a blessing to witness a sight like this, a much desired peace accomplished after so many months of being on the run from heroes and the police.
Twice jumped up and began to comically twirl about among the flocks of winged bugs, his splitting personalities having been silenced by the Nirvana he felt surrounding him, only stopping when he heard a few giggles left your mouth while you tried to keep up with him and Toga’s free styling dances without a care in the world.
The four of you not caring that you were getting strange looks and even scowls from those who crossed your paths in order to get a better look at the butterflies conjured by your beautiful quirk.
By the time the sun had set, you and your new friends had collapsed onto the grass, laughing in between breaths from all the fun you shared in those hours of innocent fun.
And you were the one to give that sense of childhood purity of fun back to them without realizing it. In your mind, you were happy that you had finally made friends by yourself as with a kick of your short legs you sat up and turned to the one closest to you, a tall woman with sunglasses and short hair the other two called “Big Sis Mag”.
You poked her cheek and she turned her face towards yours. Taking a deep breath, you decided to try something new that you hadn’t done or were comfortable with.
You: (Yy...yourrr n....nnamme!).... (Your Name)!
It was hard at first, being silent for most of your childhood being the reason as to why you sounded like a newborn attempting to say their first word. But the pride you felt as you pointed to yourself when you said your name clearly on the second try was amazing.
“Big Sis’” eyebrows shot up in surprise, and you understood why she was shocked as the only noises you made were giggles and squeals.
You: (Your name)!.... B-big sissy... Mmmmmag! Fr...friends! T-t-too...Toga! Fri..ends! Twi...Twice! Friends!
All three had unknown expressions present while you gave them a wide toothy grin that you had never given anyone except for your mama.
Twice: I think I’m gonna cry.... No, I’m not! Grow a pair!
Twice cartoonishly wept through his mask, tears that would only exist within an Animé pouring from the eyes of his black and grey mask before stopping almost immediately, his face changing to that of a stoic man drawn in comic books.
Toga just smiled at Twice, before a weak tug on her cardigan pulled her attentions to you, your arms held out wide and with an excited glow to you. You always remembered the warmth your mother’s hugs were growing up, how safe and loved you felt when your adorable self tackled her leg in a weak koala hug before she pulled you into her own arms.
Toga: Oh does (y/n)-chan want a hug?
You nodded and tackled the blonde, arms wrapped around her neck with you cheek pressed against hers, something your mother called “cuddle bumps” as you hated it when someone kissed you.
You: C-cu-cuddle bu-bumps!
Twice: I want cuddle bumps! No, I don’t that’s weird!
You nuzzled your cheek against hers, the teenage girl internally squealing and hugging you back as she was overcome with a sense of some maternal need to protect you and the light your little self emanated, both figuratively and literally as your quirk caused you to glow a warm pink color.
Toga playfully stuck out her tongue towards him, when an idea came to her.
—————
Shigaraki: And the most logical thing that you could ever think of in that moment.... was to bring this brat home?!
Toga’s cheeks puffed up as she hugged your little form from behind while you fiddled with your quirk, a manifested butterfly perched in the palm of your hand. You loved the feeling of your big sister’s soft cardigan as she hugged you.
Toga: Of course, Shiggy! I mean they’re an orphan left behind by those “caretakers”, we even waited to see if anyone would come looking.
Twice: Yeah, it was so nerve wracking! I was bored beyond belief....
Shigaraki let out an aggravated sigh, knowing that you had wormed your way into the hearts of the most in the league, Dabi being the first to cave when you used your quirk to soothe the pain in his burnt skin. He didn’t know why, but the fire quirk user’s eyes softened when you gazed up at his skin and your smile faded, a look of genuine worry that he possibly never experienced in some time as your tiny hand went up to hold his hand with the both of yours.
The rest of the already shocked league watching as an aura glowed from your small form, the glow then moving up your arms and finally covering Dabi in the glow before then pulling away into orbs that popped like soap bubbles filled with fireflies.
Dabi reacted in a way that not even he could describe as all the unbearable burning pain his scars brought him disappeared, a strange surge of.... calm washed over him.
It was the kind of calm that one would feel when a powerful storm dissipates, allowing the warm sun to bathe the earth once again.
And it was the type of calm that brought a heavy exhale out of Dabi, almost as if he had finally learned to breathe, tears falling down his cheeks and startling him, a hand shooting up to touch his wet face and pulling it away to see what was falling from his eyes.
This... made the tears fall harder.
Dabi had long forgotten what it felt like to cry actual salt water tears instead of blood. A relieved upwards tilt pulled at his lips as he fell to his knees before you, no words exchanged, just glances and a gentle grip of your joined hands.
You: No pain?
Your concern overweighed your struggling speech, your free hand raising up to hover next to his cheek. He chuckled softly, allowing you to place your hands onto his face.
Dabi: No pain. All better.
Your quirk was befitting for such a gentle, caring and kind being as you.
To put it simply, you could restore a person’s injuries, negative outlook on life due to traumatic experiences, and even their lost sense of morality via through your touch, being in your presence, or even by witnessing your creations first hand.
This was your power, a quirk that purified the evil living within this cruel world.
You could literally restore a person or persons lost sense of morality, your quirk changing a sociopathic killer into a saint seeking redemption just by spending an hour with you.
Your quirk also allowed you to heal any kind of wound or cure any illness, it could even replace missing limbs and the like as long as you kept your focus.
And it was meant to be protected.
Which is why you were taken into the protection of the league of villains, the only group of people who were the first to actually care for you after your mama’s passing, and didn’t speak badly of you or your condition.
Because they didn’t mind that you were autistic, they didn’t see you as broken or wrong. How did you know that they didn’t ostracize you?
They told you.
Twice: You, broken? Ha, that’s fresh! At least you don’t have more than one voice in your head...
Toga: My quirk needs me to drink the blood of the person i’m going to transform into in order for it to work, and because of that, I was pushed away by everyone for how creepy it made me look.
Magne: Anyone would be proud to call you their kid with a drop of a hat. So what if your special needs, it doesn’t make you any less human, sweetie.
Dabi didn’t say anything when you asked, in your broken speech, if you were broken. Instead, he just ruffled your hair and let you wear his jacket all day.
Compress: This world is filled with imperfections, but who is to say that imperfections are ugly and unwanted. To me, imperfections are where true beauty lies as it shows that despite their flaws, they try again and again to make themselves better.
Spinner: Kid, I am a walking talking lizard with pink hair and a desire to follow Stain’s path to create a society where only those who embody the traits of true heroes like All Might are allowed to become heroes.
You didn’t know how to react as he continued.
Spinner: If anything, you are the most normal out of all of us, so don’t go hating on yourself because you’re brain is wired differently. You’re perfect just the way you are.
Magne: Aww, that’s so sweet of you to say, Spinner!
Spinner: BIG SIS MAGNE?!?! HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN THERE?!
Toga: Enough to know that you give the best pep talks!~

You are [Y/N]; you’re the only daughter and the backbone of the [L/N] family. Your father passed away a year ago, and your mother has been ill ever since you could remember. The years went by like a blur; there wasn’t anything interesting during your years of living. You never really feel connected to the townspeople. You always stay with your mother and learn things from her, such as cooking, sewing, and other housewife-related chores.
The only people you know are the old women that help your mother and take care of you; you consider them like your aunts and grandmas. Your thoughts were broken by the voice of your mother. “When will you get married, [Y/N]? Women at your age should find a man to settle down with and have children.” You sighed. Ever since your father passed away, she’s been nagging you about finding the right one, get married, and having children together.
“Mama, you know I don’t feel connected to anyone in this town; no one even talks to me other than Aunt Agathe and Belle.” You replied as you’re cutting the fabric. Honestly, you’re grateful that Aunt Agathe offers to take care of your mother. You go town to town selling clothes, fabrics to get money, and the medicines for your mother’s illness. You can’t imagine leaving your mother all alone in your house without any help.
“I think this is good; I hope Belle likes it,” you said, sighing. An old friend of yours decided to ask you to make her a dress, she was very persistent about making her a dress. You want to decline it because you don’t think you are as good as the top designers, let alone for a princess, but Belle won’t take no for an answer. She insisted that she wants you to be the one to make her the dress. Luckily, you weren’t in a time crunch or making the dress in a specific style for an event, it’s just what Belle wants to wear in a day-to-day outfit.
“I’m sure she will; you two have been friends ever since you were a child. You know what she likes. She’s such a simple girl.” Your mother said, trying to lift your spirits, cupping your face and squish your cheeks. “How beautiful you have grown. I can’t believe you’re the same shy girl that always hides behind me,” she said. Suddenly being sentimental, which wasn’t uncommon lately as her sickness got worse. The mood was quickly interrupted as she turned away from you and coughs to her arm.
You grab her and lead her to sit down on the chair, “I go make some tea for you” you said and went to the kitchen. Your mother turns to look at you and just shakes her head before closing her eyes.
You packed everything that you need, you decided to buy the medicine after sending the dress to Belle. Aunt Agathe luckily agrees to take care of your mother while you go to the town over to buy the medicine.
“I’ll get going now!” You shouted and turned your body to wave goodbye to your mother, “yes, and be careful out there!” your mother replied, and with that, you’re off with your horse, Josephine. You are very nervous, it’s not every day you got to go to the castle, let alone making a dress for the princess. You would be lying if you say you didn’t envy Belle’s luck, it’s been a few years since she’s met Prince Adam, broke his curse, and then got married not long after.
After a while of riding, you’ve arrived at the gate of the castle with guards guarding it, you told them what you’re here for, and they let you in. You saw Belle and a servant waiting for you, you climb off from the horse with the dress in your arms, the servant takes your horse to put them in a stable, so you and Belle can catch up and go inside the castle.
You wouldn’t say you were close to Belle; you both don’t have much in common. She’s a lovely company to have while you’re cutting fabrics or stitching; she would read the book aloud to you as you work.
“How was your mother?” She asked as you two arrived at her and Adam’s shared room; you were awed by the size of the room. It’s almost as big as your home. “Oh! Um, she’s fine, though her condition is getting worse by the year. I’m going to buy the medicine after this.” You answered her as you gave her the dress. “Try it out first and tell me what you think!” You said as you push her to change.
You look around the room, admiring everything; you stop as you hear footsteps behind you. You saw Belle in the dress you’ve made for her. “So, what do you think? Anything you would like to change? Is it too tight or too loose? Is the fabric itchy?” You bombarded her with questions as you see her twirling around, “relax, the fabric feels nice, and it’s just perfect for me,” she answers as she places her hands on your shoulders.
You sighed out of relief, “if that’s all, I will get going then, as I said, I need to buy my mother’s medicine, and thank you for buying from me.” You said; Belle replied with a nod and hugged you before you took your leave. The servant shows up with your horse. You thanked them as you got up and went to the town.
You weren’t quite familiar with the route; you constantly check the map to make sure you weren’t lost. You probably should have gone back home instead of going straight to the town from the castle. It’s gotten dark, and Josephine is getting tired. You decided to rest for a bit; you get off of her back and let her take a break as you continue to look at the map and marking down.
Suddenly you hear wolves howling, which sends Josephine into a panic. You quickly try to calm her down, but the howling continues, she quickly runs away. You ran after her, not wanting to lose her; you call out her name, hoping that maybe she will slow down; you can’t see well in the dark and soon lost her. You slow down to catch your breath, trying to calm yourself down.
You don’t know where you are; you wander, trying to hear a sound of a horse or anything. You didn’t see where you were going and slip on the ledge and slide down to the bottom; you groaned in pain. You look up and try to climb up, but it was ineffective. You quickly look around to find a way out, you hear a growl from behind you. You turn around and saw a massive creature right in front of you. It slowly approaches you, and you instinctively step back every time It gets closer to you until you were cornered.
You put your arms up to shield yourself from an upcoming attack from the beast, “are you lost?” A deep male voice pierces into your ears; you blink a couple of times and slowly put your arms down to look at the beast. “W-what?” That’s all you said as you continue to look at him, trying to see his features. He didn’t look like a man; he was far from it. He is a hairy beast with horns on top of his head.
“Are you lost?” He asked again and turned away from you, feeling uncomfortable under your gaze. “Oh, um, yes. I fell while trying to find my horse, Josephine. The sounds of wolves howling startled her, and she ran away.” You replied awkwardly. The beast just replied with a hm, you decided to ask him something, “do you know the town nearby the castle? Villeneuve? I live there.”
“Yes, I do” he answers you, and with excitement, you clasp your hands together, “thank you! Would you lead the way?” You said as you get closer to him, he is your chance of going back home! “Follow me,” he said as he walks away, and you do as he said but stop dead at your track as you felt pain around your ankle.
You hissed in pain as you sit on the ground to check your ankle. There were some minor wounds, scratches from the rough slide. You try to take another step, but the same pain comes back. “Stop doing that. You will only add more damage to your ankle. Here.” You see the beast kneel to your level, “I’ll carry you instead.” You hesitantly wrap your arms around his neck as he grabs your legs and stands back up, giving you a piggyback ride to your way home.
You took a deep breath and mutter ‘thank you’ to him. He didn’t say anything and keeps walking.
The silence is deafening, it’s killing you. You think of something to talk about. “my name is [Y/N], what’s yours?” “you can call me whatever you want” You sighed, so much for an attempt. “Then I call you Beast,” you said, and he just grunts as a response. “We’re going to my...home first. Get your ankle fix.”
You nodded and close your eyes to rest for a bit.
