It had been months since you'd seen Hunter, so of course you and Phee were there when the Marauder touched down in the Archium. Wrecker waved to you both as the ramp lowered, beckoning to someone inside the ship.
Hunter said they were bringing someone with them, but you didn't expect the cadets-- the children --to look so bewildered when they stepped off the ship.
"They're so young," Shep said softly, and you wondered how round and baby-faced they must have been when they left Kamino, the only home they'd ever known.
The three cadets lingered on the steps of the ramp, looking around in earnest while Wrecker waited patiently.
"It smells like Kamino," the tallest said as you approached.
"Mox, did you see the ocean? D'you think they'll let us go swimming?"
"You can do whatever you want here!" Wrecker laughed encouragingly. He gave you his classic thump on the shoulders, and you smiled. It was the happiest you'd seen him since they lost Tech and Omega.
"Hi," You introduced yourself to the cadets, "What're your names?"
"I'm Deke. This is Mox, and that's Stak." The shortest of them stepped forward, while his brothers watched you warily.
"And I'm Phee Genoa, liberator of ancient wonders," Phee smiled warmly at them all.
"Welcome to Pabu," Shep said, "I'm the mayor here. We have a warm bed and fresh food for all of you."
"Thanks," Mox, the tallest, said softly. His arms were crossed over his chest, and Stak's hands fidgeted at his side.
"Wrecker, why don't you and Phee show them the island? I reckon they're as hungry as you."
Wrecker chuckled softly and nodded towards the ship, catching your drift. He beckoned for the kids to follow him. They seemed to trust a clone more than other humans, but that was understandable.
"Have you boys ever heard of Skara Nol?" you heard Phee asking them.
"What's that?" Deke asked.
"It's a big mountain, filled with lots of puzzles!" Wrecker said, waving his arms to demonstrate.
At that point, you'd stepped aboard. The warmth of the sun dissipated as you were enveloped in the Marauder's dim lighting. Hunter sat at the navicomputer to your right, half asleep and blanketed by a hazy blue glow.
"Those boys aren't the only ones who could use a home-cooked meal, you know." You said, putting more weight into your steps so he wouldn't be surprised by your approach.
"I assume you've brought some, then?" He said.
You rolled your eyes and took the canteen of gumbo from your bag.
"Only when you step away from the computer. It won't do you any good to spill it all over Tech's equipment now."
Hunter sighed, and set another diagnostic to run through the files.
"We've got another lead," He said, turning away from the computer. Your heart fluttered at the note of hope in his voice.
"The Intel from the Durands was too old, the kids were all that's left of that lab, but we scraped some data from one of the data banks. We think it could tell us where Hemlock took Omega."
You handed him the spoon, and Hunter tried to eat politely, but it soon gave way to his hunger as he shoveled spoonfuls into his mouth without waiting to chew.
"Careful, you'll make yourself sick," You warned him, "You've been eating too many rations. I'll have to send you off with some real food this time."
Hunter looked up at you, and you used your thumb to wipe some sauce from his chin, but you couldn't quite meet his eyes.
"You could always come with us. How's your leg doing?"
The only reason you hadn't gone with Hunter and Wrecker when they set out to find Omega was because your femur was broken in the same railcar crash that took Tech. Phee had promised to look out for you and keep you from getting too bored while they scoured the galaxy. Despite your protests, you knew that in your injured state, you couldn't be much help at all.
So you made yourself useful in Pabu. You sewed clothes to replace those lost in the tsunami, you looked after children while their parents rebuilt, you made your family's old gumbo recipe for those who were too tired to cook at the end of the day.
Those like Hunter.
"What about the kids? Deke, Mox and...Stak?"
Hunter nodded, "Shep said there were some families on Pabu who could take care of them for now, he even offered to take two of them into his own house."
"Oh," You said softly, "That's kind of him."
Setting the empty canteen to the side, Hunter squeezed one of your hands as it hung at your side.
"Everything alright, cyare?"
"Oh!" After so long without him, you forgot how well he knew you.
"I just...I was hoping we could take them in, take care of them."
Hunter's eyes softened, and finally stood. "I'll admit I thought about it myself, but..."
"Not while Omega's still captured," You finished for him, dropping his hand and folding your arms.
Hunter's thumb brushed against your cheek, begging for you to look at him.
"You remember that night on Ord Mantell, right?" He asked.
You pouted, bottom lip jutting out, "We spent a lot of nights on Ord Mantell." Too many, to be precise.
"You know the one I'm talking about," He cupped your face in both hands, and you looked up at the dark circles beneath his eyes.
And you did know the night he mentioned. It was a full moon, so you could actually see the moon high above all the neons and smoke from the city. Hunter had made you a promise then and there, and you made one to him too. Nothing like marriage, but something like it.
Biting your lip, you reached up to run your thumb over his crows' feet. His eyes closed, blissfully relaxed beneath your touch. You knew how much he needed to find her. He could never forgive himself if anything happened to you, to Wrecker, or any of the cadets they'd just saved.
"I meant what I said that night," He whispered, eyes glistening as his forehead rested against yours, "We'll have our own family some day, something Kamino and the Empire won't ever be able to take from us. We just have to wait a bit longer."
You sniffled just a bit, and buried your face in his chest. You wrapped your arms around his torso, and when he wrapped his arms around you he leaned more of his body weight on you than he usually did. He felt frail, delicate even, like too much pressure in one place would snap him in half.
Hunter needed you, and you needed him.
"I'm coming with you," You whispered. He sighed with relief.
"Let's bring her home."

Namesake (Anakin Skywalker and Anakin Solo)
Tumblr media
"Anakin?" He murmured, "You... You named him after me?"
"She pulled the childbirth card on me," Han chuckled, holding up Jacen so that he could get a good view of the baby in the bassinet while Jaina stood on her tiptoes and held onto the edge of the cradle.
Leia smiled smugly, "Jaina is named after your mother. It's my turn."
"I think it's wonderful," Padme wrapped her arms around Anakin's and placed a kiss on his cheek. Anakin could only stare at the child in complete awe.
"Congratulations, Leia," Luke leaned over the bed to kiss his sister's forehead, slipping a box of chocolates onto the nightstand.
"Thank you," Leia grinned, helping herself to the chocolates while Jacen and Jaina were distracted with their baby brother.
"Can I hold him? Pleeeeeeease?" Jaina begged.
"You need to be sitting down, okay princess?" Han said. He motioned to plastic cushioned armchair in the corner, half-hidden behind a fake plant that was supposed to liven up the room. Jaina scrambled across the room, and once his feet found the ground, Jacen was hot on her heels, trying to share.
"Gerroff!" Jaina smacked a hand across Jacen's face.
"I wanna hold him too!" Jacen insisted.
"I wanted to first!"
"Jacen," Padme smoothly scooped Jacen up into her arms for the time being, "Jaina asked first. It wasn't nice of you to to try and keep her from doing what was asked of her."
"But I wanna hold him too!" Jacen whined.
Leia sighed, sinking back into the pillows. Han quickly fluffed up two of the spare pillows, sliding them behind her back to make her more comfortable.
"Now while I'm sure your baby brother appreciates all the attention, if you two are gonna fight over him, Nana's gonna have to put you in timeout."
"Hey, why do I have to be the one to put them in timeout?" Padme glared at her son-in-law.
"Because Dad's the fun one," Luke chuckled unhelpfully.
"Because I can't enforce anything right now. I have to take care of my wife, who has just been through a long and arduous birth. Also, you're their grandma, they'll actually listen to you."
Padme sighed, "Fine. If you two don't behave, you'll get timeout."
"NO!" Jaina and Jacen both protested.
"I'll be good!" Jacen said, "I promise! I wanna hold the baby too!"
During all this commotion, Anakin had made his way over to the bassinet. Despite all the noise, his namesake wasn't fussy at all. Little Anakin looked right back at him with his big infant eyes, as blue as the skies of Tattooine, with hair as sandy brown as the Dune Sea to match.
"Do you want to hold him, Dad?" Leia asked softly.
Anakin took a step back and shook his head, "Jaina asked first."
"I asked first!" Jaina echoed in delight. She was seated on the chair, as patiently as a three-year-old could, with her little pigtails swinging back and forth as she bounced in excitement.
Leia smiled, "Han, dear, would you go get me my nerf sausage sandwich?"
"Yes sweetheart," Han's eyes twinkled at the familiar banter with his wife and kissed her forehead.
Leia nodded to her father as Han set on his errand, "Would you mind passing the baby to Jaina, dad?"
She was just as clever as her mother, with his stubbornness to match.
Anakin knew how to hold babies. He'd carried Luke and Leia throughout the Rebellion against the Empire, protecting them against the blaster bolts from determined bounty hunters and zealous inquisitors set on impressing the Emperor.
He'd held Jacen and Jaina when they'd been born too, shielding them from the monsters under the bed and teaching them about their connection to the force.
So why did this child feel so exceptional? So different?
Anakin lay his namesake along the length of his prosthetic arm, his hand under the delicate cranium, and balancing him there there with his other hand.
"Hey kid," He whispered, slowly making his way across the room to Jaina.
Little Ani stared back at him, wriggling insistently with tiny "Eh, Eh," noises of effort.
"He's so quiet," Padme murmured appreciatively.
"For the love of force, do not jinx us," Han begged.
Anakin knelt next to Jaina.
"Make a cradle with your arms," He instructed, and waited until Jaina had done so before gently placing her baby brother in her arms.
"If you keep your arm under his neck, you can support his head. Then he can look up at you."
Jaina squinted at her brother.
"He has blue eyes."
Anakin chuckled, "Yes, he does."
"But me and Jasa have brown eyes!"
"And Momma and Papa!" Jacen added.
"How does he have blue?" Jaina was utterly perplexed.
"Hey, I have blue eyes!" Luke pointed out.
"And so do I," Anakin leaned in close so that Jaina could see.
Jaina leaned in closer, and Anakin slipped his hand under Little Ani's head just in case.
Jaina shook her head, "You're eyes aren't blue. They're gray."
Padme couldn't hold back a snort at Anakin's expense.
"Okay, okay," Han said, "Why doesn't Jacen have a turn?"
After Jacen had gotten a chance to hold the baby and Han had snapped every angle the holocam would let him, the twins were utterly bored. Luke took them in search of the mess hall, leaving Anakin and Padme with Leia, Han, and the baby.
Padme was seated in the guest chair, cooing at her newest grandchild, and Han sat on the bed with Leia, watching everyone tiredly.
"Do you need us to leave you to your rest?" Anakin asked his daughter.
Leia shook her head, "Later, probably, but I'm just glad we're all here now."
"We can bring the twins back again later. If we end up having to move again, you won't do anyone any good being on bed rest," Padme reminded her.
Leia bit her lip nervously, and Anakin saw something shimmering in her eye.
"We'll have a lifetime to spend with this one. I promise I can always wait."
A tear slid down Leia's cheek, "Yeah, yeah, a lifetime..." she raised a hand to wipe it away, but Han was already there.
"Oh sweetheart," He whispered.
Tears streamed down her face as Leia reached for her baby. Her throat was too tight to speak any words. Padme placed Little Anakin in her arms and Leia held the newborn close.
Anakin breathed in deeply to control his anger. Palpatine had groomed him and stolen his entire childhood, marring it with sly suggestions and half-baked advice, excusing actions he couldn't come back from. He would not let the same thing happen to his grandson.
Anakin knelt at the side of her bed and placed a hand on her knee.
"It's going to be okay, Leia, I promise."
In the relative quiet of the room, a vision opened up to Anakin and his daughter. Three young Jedi, standing on the horizon, lightsabers blazing from their silhouetted forms as an endless stream of starships shot by overhead, representing thousands upon thousands of Jedi, rising to take the place of the old Jedi Order.
The last time Anakin had one of these visions, it prophesied the downfall of the Jedi, and his own potential to fall down the path of the darkside. He had not let himself succumb to one of these visions in many years, even after Luke insisted that he spoke with the apparition of Obi-Wan, Anakin's beloved brother. But this one was different. This one spoke peace and comfort to Anakin and his daughter.
As the vision faded, Leia drew in deep breaths to calm herself. She had seen the same thing that Anakin had.
The future of the Jedi.

Luck (Jaina Solo x Zekk)
a request from the lovely @rai-knightshade. it is really so nice to have someone to fangirl over Jaina and Zekk with now. divider by @djarrex. gif by @princes-jasmine. (neither of you have to read this i promise i just needed to make sure i gave credit)
Tumblr media
“Jaina!” Jacen felt it a moment before Zekk saw Jaina fall.
She landed in the middle of the dock as the blaster bolts grew closer, curling in a fetal position. Zekk leaped out from behind the decommissioned GNK droid, creating a beautiful arc with his sizzling orange lightsaber that deflected the lasers into the scorched metal rigging.
Zekk could feel Jaina's pain flooding the Force, along with the anger and rage of the smugglers they were chasing. This group had managed to steal an ancient Jedi holocron from an unsuspecting scavenger on Coruscant, and the Zekk and his friends had been sent to intercept them before they could make their sale on the black market.
Tumblr media
Tenel Ka had the lead, as always, and Jacen was right behind her. Lowie had been bringing up the rear, but with a wookie bellow he leaped overhead, shielding Zekk and Jaina with his golden blade.
Lowie bellowed, and Zekk mentally translated before Em-Teedee could pipe up. He dragged Jaina behind the GNK with him, cradling her head as he reached for her injured leg. Lowie barked an approval, pressing forward with the others.
Blasterfire shot by their hiding place. Zekk jerked his arm to shield Jaina, and she grunted in pain.
“Sorry, sorry,” Zekk apologized hastily. Her foot was definitely not supposed to bend in that direction.
He made a split-hair decision and activated his wrist-comm with his nose so that he could keep a good hold on Jaina. “Keep on them, guys, I’m taking Jaina back to the Lightning Rod.”
“Roger!” Jacen replied.
“Oh no, no you’re not,” Jaina pushed Zekk back and grabbed her lightsaber again, “I can still-” She attempted to push herself up onto her feet, but her leg gave way and she fell over Zekk’s shoulder. The others were blocking most of the laserfire, giving him an escape path.
Jaina grunted as he ran, slamming her fists against his back. "Put me down you overgrown tree!" She shouted.
Zekk ran faster as a blaster bolt landed by his foot, "I mean if you have any better ideas for getting you to the ship when you can't walk we can always discuss them in a committee."
"I AM NOT A COMMITTEE!" Jaina gave an unladylike screech as they left the firefight behind. Zekk called on the force to help him run , trying to remember the route back to the hangar where they left his ship.
He felt Jaina fold her arms in an attempt to pout. “We’re in concourse C, hangar forty-nine.”
Zekk silently thanked her, and moments later he was opening his ship’s ramp and willing it to go faster.
“You can put me down, you know?”
“What, like you’re gonna get yourself up the ramp without any support?” Zekk smirked, and she elbowed him in the ribs.
Once safely on board, Zekk set Jaina in the bunk and hurried to the cockpit to start the takeoff cycle. They needed to be able to make a quick getaway once Jacen and the others got the holocron.
A loud clanging noise from the hold tore him from the cockpit. Jaina had fallen out of the bunk, attempted to walk, and promptly tripped over Zekk’s toolkit.
“Jaina!” Zekk tried to settle her into a sitting position on the cot, and she huffed.
“Just because I hurt my leg doesn’t mean I can’t help,” She pouted. Zekk began to search his greasy excuse of a ship for the medkit.
“You’re right, it doesn’t mean you can’t help, but it does mean that you need to rest and not agitate your leg.”
“It’s not that bad-” she insisted.
Zekk tore the medkit out from under the pile of robes and pointed at her foot, “It’s twisted ninety degrees to the right and you can’t put any weight on it,” He declared sharply.
Jaina frowned, but said nothing.
Zekk tried to remember the force healing lessons from Tionne as he prepared to splint Jaina’s leg. He couldn’t ignore the small whisper of “Ow, ow, ow, ow,” that escaped her breath as he gently eased her boot off. If it was going to heal correctly, it needed to be rotated back into position.
“Well, Doctor Zekk?” Jaina folded her arms crossly again.
Zekk sighed, “This is gonna hurt.”
She groaned, “I hate you.”
“I know.” He nodded, “Put your hands on my shoulders.”
Reluctantly, Jaina unfolded her arms to place both hands on Zekk’s boney shoulders. She took a deep breath, trying to shake out all the tension in her muscles.
“You ready?” Zekk asked. Before she could not, he quickly turned her foot into the proper position. Jaina took a deep breath to mitigate the pain, and she gripped his shoulders so tightly Zekk imagined she might rip them from his neck.
He gently massaged her ankle, trying to ensure that the bones were aligned properly before he wrapped it up. She could get proper treatment at the Temple’s medical bay once they got back, but Zekk didn’t want to make the Med-Droid’s job any more difficult than it had to be.
Once Jaina’s breathing had calmed down and her grip on his shoulders had eased up, Zekk took the extendable splints, measuring them to her leg and her foot, holding them into place with ribbons of yellowed gauze. No sooner had he tied the bandage into place, than his comm began to go off.
Jaina accepted it before he could free his hands.
“What’s up?”
“Hey guys! It’s Jacen. Um, what hangar are we in again?”
“Concourse C, Hangar forty-nine!” Jaina and Zekk exclaimed together.
A minute later, Lowie was co-piloting for Zekk, and the ramp just barely closed on Jacen’s heels as the smugglers caught up with them. Jaina rolled her eyes as Jacen proudly presented their coveted treasure.
“I wonder what’s in here…” He murmured, attempting to twist the corners of the glowing blue cube to activate it.
With a tug of the force, Tenel Ka yanked it from his hand.
“Master Skywalker specifically requested that we refrain from activating the holocron until he is present,” She reminded them.
“Yeah, but Jaina and I are both Skywalkers, so that counts for something, right?”
Tenel Ka raised one eyebrow at her boyfriend.
“You’re also Solos, which gives you the worst luck in the galaxy,” Zekk said. Lowie chortled in amusement.
Before Jacen or Jaina could make further argument, the alarms warning of approaching ships blared, and Tenel Ka slipped the holocron in the velvet-lined container Master Skywalker had given them for such purposes. Zekk and Lowie made the jump to hyperspace, and relief flooded the force. Despite injuries and getting lost, and the Lightning Rod’s constant rattling, they had made it out alive.
Now all that was left was the adrenaline-fueled, anxiety-inducing eight hours until they made it back to Yavin IV.
Lowie sat in the cockpit, tinkering with Em-Teedee, and Tenel Ka insisted that Jacen’s snoring wasn’t bothering her meditation, so Zekk went back to check on Jaina.
Jacen had her bundled up in one of the light blankets like a doll, and she didn’t have the energy to toss them aside.
“How’s the leg?” Zekk grinned, leaning over the bunk.
“It’s fine,” she shrugged, “I feel loads better.”
“Uh-huh…” Zekk slowly nodded. “Did you eat your rations earlier?”
“Most of them,” Jaina pointed to the plate of Jacen’s latest concoction from the food processors, “I got real thirsty.”
“Lemme get you-”
“No!” Jaina sat up quickly, and her volume made Zekk jump, watching her curiously.
“I, I mean, I can get it myself-” Before she could toss aside the blankets, Zekk gave her a gentle push back into the bunk.
“No,” he said firmly, “I can get you water. It’s no problem.”
Jaina slumped back against the mattress, and Zekk tapped the water purifier a couple times to get it working.
"You don't have to do stuff for me," a small voice muttered.
Zekk's ponytail swung around to smack his face as he spun to look at Jaina.
She lay on her side, tracing patterns into the fabric of the cot mattress.
"Your leg is broken. Of course I'm going to help you do stuff."
"I can get myself a glass of water." Jaina's hand stubbornly curled into a fist.
Zekk turned his whole body to face her, a cup of water in his hand.
"Can you?" He hummed in amusement.
Jaina lifted her head to glare at him.
"You said you can do it yourself. Come on, I dare you."
Her lips tightened into a frown, and she tossed the blanket to the side, revealing the splint strapped to her leg.
Zekk smirked as she swung her good leg over the side of the bed, struggling to pull the splint after it. He even kicked one of the crates of parts out of the way to make it easier for her.
Jaina grabbed the hanging net that held larger weaponry to pull herself to her feet. She stepped forward on her bad foot, and Zekk resisted the instinctive urge to stop her, even as the Force cried out in pain.
Jaina was good at hiding what she was feeling, but she still bit her lip at the pain.
Zekk raised one eyebrow. Jaina refused to look at him, her face slowly turning red as her breaths deepened.
It was like swinging from branch to branch in the trees back on Yavin. She could do this. She grabbed onto two loops, hanging on for dear life, pitifully hopping forward. She flushed darker, painfully aware of Zekk's eyes carefully watching her.
Zekk's smug satisfaction was slowly becoming concern as Jaina stubbornly crossed half the distance between them, determined to prove her independence. She'd even forgotten the use of the Force in the process.
Her foot knocked against the crate, and as the air was ripped from her lungs, she let go of the net and fell.
Zekk dropped the cup of water in order to catch her. He knelt on the floor with a tangled heap of Jaina in his lap. Her face was hidden in his greasy flight vest in embarrassment.
"Come on," Zekk whispered, his hands tucked under her arms, "Needing help doesn't make you weak, and it doesn't make me think any less of you. I promise."
Jaina nodded against his chest, as if she had known all along.
"Thanks," she mumbled.
Zekk kissed the top of her head, "I love you, you scruffy-looking nerf herder."
"Yeah right," Jaina tugged on his vest, "You're the scruffy one."
Zekk pulled Jaina to her feet and ruffled her hair, pulled out a bit of leather to tie it back from her face.
"Repeat after me: I am a strong, independent woman."
"I am a strong, independent woman."
"But I need to take a nap."
"Kriff no."
Without warning, Zekk wrapped one arm firmly around Jaina's back and the other behind her legs, sweeping her up into his arms.
"You stupid tree!" Jaina sputtered up the same insult from earlier. Zekk ignored her, gently laying her on the bed. He lifted up the covers, and slipped in beside her. Before Jaina could register what was happening, Zekk had his arms around her chest, pulling her face to face with him.
"Jaina, go to sleep."
Jaina's jaw snapped shut before she could catch flies. Zekk's hand cradled the back of her head, tucking it beneath his chin.
"I can still take you," she insisted
"Yeah you can," He agreed, "Goodnight Jaina."
"Good night," she mumbled. She rested her cheek against his chest, listening to the distant thump of his heartbeat. As she focused on its rhythm, the throbbing in her leg began to fade away.

If you could get to know and/or write with another writer (or more) who would it be?
Hey there! Sorry for taking all day to answer this. You really got me thinking and I didn't want to give an answer halfway just to get it done quickly.
I would first and foremost want to write with my dear friend @photogirl894. As a fellow major fan of The Bad Batch, I think a mutual love for this show and the characters would make way for an awesome story, and plus, the way that she can bring her original characters to life is stunning to me. Y'all should read her works, such as Sun and Rain (Hunter x OC) and Mirrors in the Force (Kanan x OC)
I would also love to get to know @freesia-writes since I know the love for TBB is also mutual. I'm so in love with the way she writes Crosshair particularly.
Another writer I respect greatly is @nahoney22. Not only does Honey capture each bad batcher fantastically well but her personality is top tier and I think everyone should get to know her.
@darthzero22 is very dear to me as well, and we share many fandoms besides Star Wars that we have bonded over the years with. She is a kind, wonderful soul who writes beautifully and I'm honored to know her.
Of course @lizartgurl your writing does not go unnoticed as well!!
And there are so many other writers I'd like to give a shout out to! @eyecandyeoz @eloquentmoon @firstofficerwiggles @arctrooper69 @rowansparrow @arctrooperechy @emperor-palpaminty @dragonrider9905 @angelltheninth @imabeautifulbutterfly @justalittletomato and I'm sorry if I forgot anyone!! Y'all are incredible and getting to know any of you / write with you over fandom love would be AWESOME!
Thank you for this ask, Lizart!! I had a lot of fun giving this little shout out :D

Since FFXIVWrite is over now and I have a bit of spare time, I thought I'd put together a little post about the characters that where the subjects of my writes this time around, so here we go! First off, I'll start with my WoL:
J'ard'a Ornbalt
Tumblr media
Ard was raised largely by his father, with some help from his grandfather. That said a lot of the time he was largely unsupervised, which he spent wandering Ul'dah and became fast friends with some other children who spent their time stealing from the purses and stalls of those who seemed to be living comfortably. This exposure to the markets also drew him to find his dream: making jewelry. He spent a lot of time at home experimenting with cheap materials and the odd small gem his father found while mining. He eventually turned to adventuring to earn some spare coin to afford better materials, and unfortunately started just in time to be confronted with the Calamity. Fighting outside the city's gate's scarred him, and he renounced adventuring with no intention of returning to it ever. However in the intervening years between the Calamity and the start of the story he failed to gain a foothold as a jeweler, and barely managed to maintain enough gil to live let alone keep his shop going. This is where he hit a breaking point and had to return to adventuring which would lead him to the events of the msq.
I use to have an RP variant of him, but some of the issues he had as a character made him a bit too difficult for me to use in public, so I actually fairly recently dumpstered that version of him and used a few seeds of that to make a new character: Fukume
edit: Ok I've tweaked him a bit and he now has an rp friendly non-wol realization if anybody wants to interact with him as a non-wol.
Fukume Tamaya
Tumblr media
A member of a family of artificers that once served a Hingan lordship both as the crafters they where and also as agents of espionage. After being removed from the service after a changing of the family head, they moved to Eorzea where they opened their shop. She's not very expressive, and tends to keep her mind toward the family craft.
Cota Uurtsaina
Tumblr media
My punch lizart. She was brought to Ul'dah with her father when they moved down from the Hellsguard village their ancestors made their new home after being banished from the Kagon tibe. She's actually quite smart, despite acting a bit silly most of the time. Her greatest weakness is sweets, most especially cakes. She tends to work a few odd jobs, usually as muscle.
Yukimura Takeuchi
Tumblr media
A vassal to a Doman clan. After the first Doman uprising he began wondering the land thinking the clan fully destroyed, but some time ago he discovered the heir to the clan had been secreted away and brought him back. Currently he is helping guide the young heir and restore the clan's land and holdings. He is boisterous and something of a battle junkie, but is unerringly kind.
Parcemel Duboix
Tumblr media
Son of a vicious pirate. He was raised harshly by his father, and never knew his mother. He escaped as a boy, setting his father's ship ablaze and risking death rowing to Limsa. There, he made a living using the one skillset he had been taught: violence. After some time he moved to Ul'dah to start over, and met his future wife. He's largely settled down now, typically only taking the occasional well paying contract.
Gaenabi & Munini
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A brother and sister.
Gae was found in the Twelvewood as a child by the woman who would become his adoptive mother. He was found succumbing to disease, and when he awoke he was mute and had no memory of his life before. After growing up, he took after his adoptive father and became a Wailer.
Munini was always the curious sort, and as a child would regularly take apart whatever she could get her hands on and put it back together into something new. Eventually she invented an aethertech tablet for Gae that would project whatever he wrote on it into the air to help him communicate to most people.
Amarantos
Tumblr media
An artificial living person created at some indiscernible time. She's doing her best to live a real life while trying to figure out her origins with what few clues she has.
Kuhjo Guinocont
Tumblr media
Kuhjo grew up on an orphanage in Ul'dah and was made to serve the thaumaturge's guild to help support the orphanage. She fled the city after killing an adopter that was secretly paying the orphanage owner to 'adopt' children into forced labor. This led her to work as an engineer aboard an airship owned by a logistics company. After a failed mutiny, she developed an alternate persona that sought vengence against the planner. She has since regained herself, and now works as a mortician.

Okay great!
So can you please do a request where Roy is still on the team and has a huge crush on f!reader but is always standoffish because yk, clone or whatever, but then one day he sees someone else flirting with her so he gets jealous (in a healthy way) and confesses?
Thank you!

Quick apology anon because you were so sweet with your asks and I repaid with radio silence but I hope you enjoy this piece, short as it may be <3
"Your face is as red as your moniker, my friend," Kaldur chuckled into his mug of tea.
"Is not," Roy muttered, though there was no energy behind his grumbling. He was still focused on you as you danced around the kitchen to some pop rock song, waiting impatiently for the cookies to be done. You were far from American Idol worthy, but it might as well have been a siren song the way your voice haunted his dreams as well as his every waking moment. And Kaldur knew it.
Kaldur shrugged, and nodded to Wally as Kid Flash paraded into the kitchen, "Whatever you may say, my friend."
"Hey sweet cheeks!" Wally crooned.
"Sup, Wall-man?" You tossed your batter-covered microphone (read: spoon) into the sink.
"My heart rate, for one," Wally wiggled his brows at you as he began gathering condiments and ingredients for his patented colossal sandwich.
"Oh, are you okay?" You asked.
"Never better, babe." Wally's nicknames never phased you. He flirted with everyone, there was no heart in it, but you wished that some of Wally's confidence would rub onto Roy. With his cursed skill with arrows, it was safe of you to sat that he'd successfully avoided being pierced by Cupid's.
"Are you gonna save some for the rest of us?" You asked as Wally piled ham, turkey, and three types of cheese on his bread in a very specific pattern.
"You know I'd do anything for you, beautiful!" To prove it, Wally set aside two slices of bread, meat, and some cheddar for your own sandwich.
That made something in Roy snap.
He marched across the common room, and inserted himself in between you and Wally.
"Forget him. I'll take you out to a proper meal."
You felt the heat rush to your cheeks as Wally's grin stretched across his face looking between you and Roy. Over on the couch, Kaldur spat out the sip of tea he'd been unfortunate to be drinking.
"R-Roy? Are you...are you asking me out on...on a date?"

Hey! I was wondering if I could request a HunterxReader. Something where Hunter is like really possessive over reader with like another guy? Or one of his brother getting a little too close for his comfort, nothing nefarious, just lite teasing.
Thank you in advance.
Again, you’re doing amazing sweetie!
Me reading this request:
Tumblr media
I hope you enjoy this one!
Man After Midnight (Jealous!Sergeant Hunter x Reader)
Notes: Hunter POV, The Return of The Kyle™, guy gets handsy with reader and Hunter does something about it, alcohol consumption, bar fight, 79s, feel free to check out my personal 79's Playlist here. Spoilers tagged for the gif. Y'all do not know how long it took me to find a season three gif for this one.
Tumblr media
Whenever the squad convinced Hunter to join them at 79's, he tuned out the noises and smells to the best of his abilities. The overlapping of a million voices, all too similar to differentiate, the body odors and cologne, the pounding bass of the pop music, it could get to be too much.
But when you asked him to join you, he couldn't say no. He was powerless to the pleading in your eyes and the joy in your smile when he finally said yes. Or it could have been how Crosshair commented on how good you looked in the new outfit you'd bought for clubbing, but he'd never admit it.
The six of you crowded into a booth at the back of the bar, farthest from the speakers. Hunter made sure that he got the seat next to you, only for Tech to remind you that it was your turn to grab the drinks from the bar. You smiled at Hunter apologetically as you tried to climb over him without bothering him too much. He had a better idea though, and gently placed his hands on your waist, easily lifting you over his legs and placing you on the outside of the booth.
Wrecker gave a wolf-whistle at the wide-eyed look on your face, and you quickly looked away, running over to the bar as fast as you could through the crowd.
The others were chuckling as Hunter frowned. Had he messed up? Was he too forward? He didn't consider himself a shy person, but he'd been so sure that you were sending him signals that you were interested.
"Hmm," Crosshair hummed.
"What is it?" Hunter sat up.
Cross smirked, "It seems our resident civilian is attracting some attention."
Hunter quickly scanned the crowd, looking for you. Halfway between the bar and the squad's booth, drinks spilling out of your arms, you were stopped talking with a senate guard. What one of them was doing here was beyond him, but Hunter didn't like the way he was looking you up and down, and half-blocking you from the booth. He wasn't even offering to help you with the drinks.
Hunter slammed his hands on the table to push himself out of his seat and marched over to you, shoving the guard to the side.
"Let me help you with that," He said, taking Wrecker's boilermaker and Tech's martini from where you had kept them expertly balanced.
"Hey, excuse me clone-"
"You're excused," Hunter rolled his eyes at the senate guard and nodded you towards the booth, "Let's go."
"Thank you," You said softly, but he heard it all the same. And you were smiling at him, so he hadn't totally messed up.
The two of you handed out the drinks to their respective drinkers, and Hunter herded you back into your seat.
"Who was that?" Wrecker asked, downing half his drink in one go.
You shrugged, "No one in particular. I think his name was Kyle?"
Hunter huffed. He couldn't tell himself if he was annoyed or amused by this revelation. Of course the smarmy senate guard would have a name like Kyle.
The evening carried on, Wrecker ordered more drinks, Echo found some old friends from the 212th, and Hunter could hear Tech rambling to a very interested Rodian woman who listened to him describe the nesting habits of rancors with stars in her eyes.
You, of course, were on the dance floor. You were always dancing around the Marauder, humming to yourself as you cleaned up your workspace or made the caff. Whenever Hunter saw you dancing, it felt like all was right with the world.
He spotted Kyle across the room. Hunter was surprised he'd stuck around, the senate guards typically didn't deign the clones to be good enough company to make the way across town to 79's.
But Kyle wasn't paying attention to any of the clones. His beady eyes tracked your every movement out on the dance floor. Hunter felt a rumbling in his chest, like a reek warning others to stay back.
Kyle, of course, couldn't hear it, and even if he could, he probably would have ignored it anyway. The senate guard shouldered his way through the crowd on the dance floor, announcing his presence by placing his hands on your hips.
Hunter heard your yelp of surprise and grit his teeth. He launched himself from the booth and marched across the room. Several startled patrons hopped out of the way when they saw the look of pure rage on his face, but all Hunter could focus on were your protests as Kyle grinned.
"Really sweetheart, I'm just trying to give you a compliment, is all!" Kyle laughed as you flushed in embarrassment, trying to push him away. Kyle's grip tightened on you, but Hunter grabbed him by the shoulder. When Kyle turned with a smart quip, Hunter decked him across the face.
"They said no!" He snarled, his arm out in front of you like a shield.
A few clones gave out supporting cheers as the senate's flunkie was laid out across the nearest table, but Kyle wasn't the only one present. Two more men, decidedly not clones, approached Hunter menacingly, trying to defend their friend. He saw them coming, but he had to take a hit from the first one so that the other could get close without suspecting too much. Then Hunter took the both of them with one swing.
"Hunter!" You cried out. A crowd was gathering, and Wrecker was trying to make his way over to you and help Hunter out.
Hunter placed his hands on your shoulder, standing in between you and Kyle.
"You alright?" He asked.
"What?"
"Look out!" Someone shouted. Hunter shielded you with his body to see the senate guards standing up.
Kyle pushed himself to his feet, though he still leaned unsteadily against the table.
"You're gonna regret that, meatdroid!" He snarled, blood dripping down his chin from a broken nose. Kyle charged towards the two of you, but Hunter stepped to the side at the last minute, catching Kyle by the collar of his dress uniform. It was tight enough already, but with Hunter gripping the fabric, Kyle had to gasped for air. Hunter swung him around and right into his would-be bodyguards.
"No fighting! No fighting!" the steward droid waved its arms, but no one was paying it much attention. Wrecker caught the three stooges by the scruff and happily carried them out the door like a mother tooka, dropping them on the veranda where they could hail a hovertaxi.
Once he was certain that Kyle was taken care of, Hunter turned to you.
"Are you alright?" He repeated.
"Am I-?" You shook your head, "You have a black eye!" You pointed out, as if Hunter wasn't wincing every time he blinked.
"Just a scrape," He insisted.
"If I had a credit for every time-" You were too upset to even finish your thought, but you grabbed Hunter by the lip of his chestplate, pulling him over to the bar. You asked the serving droid for the medkit, and brought him back into the bathroom stalls.
"That was incredibly stupid of you. You know what kind of trouble you could get into if you hurt them too badly!" You made Hunter sit on the edge of one of the sinks so that you could treat him properly.
Hunter sighed, "Trouble seems to find me regardless of whether I do anything or not."
You fixed him with a death glare that made it clear he was better off not saying anything until you were done treating his wounds, superficial as they may be.
"Don't do that again, you hear me?" You slathered bacta over his eye, and dabbed some on the cut on his lip. Fortunately, there was one more ice pack in the poorly-stocked kit, so you snapped it in half to activate the cooling gel.
"Sorry cyare, but I'm afraid I can't make that promise."
You froze, the ice back an inch above his eye. He could feel the air cooling around it, and gently took the ice pack from your slackened grasp, pacing it against the swelling skin.
"Hunter," You gasped, "don't say things like that. Even for me, it's not worth the risk." Your hands were shaking, so you busied them by packing up the remains of the medikit.
Hunter grit his teeth as you turned your back to him, "You are worth every sacrifice I have made. Every shot I've taken, every nightmare that haunts me, every humiliation I've had to endure from those miserable excuses for sentient beings," He waved the ice pack in the air, trying to indicate Kyle and his flunkies.
"It's worth it," He insisted, "Just to see you smile."
He heard your heart beat faster as you swallowed the lump in your throat, and he knew he'd gone too far.
"I... I didn't know you felt that way..." You whispered.
Hunter hopped down from the sink and marched out the bathroom door. He needed a nice, stiff drink.
A couple of the other clones gave him strange looks for the eyepatch, and a few who'd seen the fight asked if he was okay. Hunter ignored them all, trying to flag down a steward droid.
"Hunter!" You shouted his name above the din of the music. He decided it was best to ignore you too.
By the time you finally made your way to him at the bartop, he was halfway through a drink he'd regret in a couple hours.
"What do you think you're doing!?" you demanded, hands on your hips.
"Having a drink, what's it look like I'm doing?" He grunted miserably.
"You can't just tell me you love me and walk away like that!"
Hunter spat out a mouthful of alcohol all over the serving droid, leaving his tongue and his nose burning from the taste.
You, however, were unperturbed by his reaction, folding your arms across your chest.
"Now are you going to ask me to dance or not?"

Soaring (Tahiri Veila x Anakin Solo)
So I watched The Bad Batch and now my brain is nothing but Star Wars. I have happily gone through all the prompts I've reblogged here and started writing little blurbs. Requests are still open!
You’ve said you’re going to leave, but I don’t want you to go and if I don’t say something now…
Tumblr media
Tahiri stood at the end of the ramp, one foot on the cool metal of the Falcon, the other with her toes still curled around the grass of the landing field. Anakin and his father were still waiting for Jacen and Jaina to come back with their things, but Tahiri knew that if she moved another inch, she wouldn't be in control of her words and actions.
Her heart pounded in her chest as she watched Anakin explain the nuances of the debate between the Mon Calamari and the Quarrens. His ice-blue eyes shone in the setting sun and his hands darted back and forth to illustrate his explanations. Tahiri begged the force that he wouldn't sense how much she loved watching him explain things.
"...Of course, Mom could totally handle this all by herself, but she says it shows Mon Cala how important this debate is to the New Republic if we're all there. But I'm pretty sure she needs us to keep dad awake during the proceedings." He said.
"I'm sure you could help too, if your mom needed it," Tahiri put in, "You're good at coming up with solutions that no one else does."
Anakin grinned back at her, and was it just her imagination, or did he blush?
"Hi Tahiri!" Jacen and Jaina approached the Falcon with their duffel bags slung over their shoulders, waving goodbye to their friends watching from the hangar bay. Tahiri frowned, she'd been hoping for at least a couple more minutes alone with Anakin.
"Ready to go?" Jacen beamed up at his little brother. Jaina gave Tahiri a hug that was almost instinct, and Tahiri couldn't help but return the embrace with fervor. She'd be lying if she said that one of the benefits of being so close with Anakin Solo wasn't the friendship of his brother and sister.
"Yeah," Anakin sighed, despite being so excited about the debate just a moment ago, "I guess I'll see you later, Tahiri."
"See you later, Anakin, I love you!"
"Love you too!"
Tahiri didn't realize what she'd said until Anakin replied in kind. And then both Jacen and Jaina were looking at them with the smuggest Solo grins Tahiri had ever seen. Anakin's face was so incredibly red beneath his honeyed mop of hair, and Tahiri thought she would evaporate from the heat she felt in her cheeks.
"Krakana got your tongue?" Jacen ruffled his brother's hair before darting deeper into the Falcon to hide. Jaina took after him with a cackle.
Anakin took a step to run after his older brother and sister, but stopped himself, turning to smile back at Tahiri.
"I can't wait to get back," He told her.
Tahiri inhaled sharply, and ran up the ramp. Before he could react, she placed a quick kiss on his cheek, and ran back down. By the time Anakin had processed what had happened, the ramp was closing, and his father was yelling for him to strap in.
"I'll see you when you get back!" She waved as the ramp shut.
Her heart was still beating powerfully, but with each beat she felt lighter than air. She was fairly certain it took off with the Falcon as it soared over the Massassi treetops, up higher and higher towards the gas giant of Yavin.

In The Garden Would You Trust Me? (Wrecker x Fem!Jedi!Reader)
This was written for @imarvelatthestars for the @cloneficgiftexchange Di, I hope you enjoy this one!
Notes: No warnings, Jedi reader, injured Wrecker, tending to injuries, self-disparaging Wrecker, discussion of trust, Wrecker feels bad about himself, but you're there to make him feel better.
Tumblr media
"I am so in love with her right now," Wrecker held his head in his hands, keeping his head upright so that he wouldn't have to look away from his general. Your lightsaber cut through the droids that had ambushed them like shaak butter.
Tech coughed sharply and waved his flashlight, "Wrecker, eyes on me." He needed to see if his brother had another concussion. Wrecker hesitated, so Tech finally grabbed his chin, forcing his brother to let himself be examined.
"We've gotta get him out of here!" You were suddenly standing over them, and Wrecker stared at your hand on his shoulder, unaware of the dorky little smile tugging at the corner of his mouth.
Hunter, however, didn't, and couldn't resist a conspiratorial grin beneath his helmet, "We can hold them off, can you get him to safety?"
Tech missed Hunter's intentions, "The general is the most formidable of all of us, if anyone is going to press forward with the mission is should be her-"
Hunter gripped Tech's shoulder tightly, "The general has the medical training to take care of Wrecker for now, but she doesn't have your prowess with technology."
"Hey!" You teased, though it was true. No one could best Tech's skills with hacking and reprogramming.
"Still, It would be quiet unorthodox if the general was unable to ensure the completion of the- ow!" Tech batted Hunter's hand from his shoulder.
You laughed softly, "A true leader protects their people," You said wisely, "Besides, if I can't count on you boys to take down this prison outpost, who can I trust?"
Wrecker felt a bit ashamed at that. Did you mean that you couldn't trust him? He did tend to get a little overexcited from time to time, but you always picked him to stand by your side and to stay with him to disarm any explosives you encountered on your missions. Had he been mistaken in thinking that meant that you trusted him?
Tech humphed, "Very well. Though we should move quickly, another wave of droids is making their way towards us."
You nodded and slung Wrecker's arm over your shoulder.
Surprisingly, the rest of his body followed, laid across your shoulders like the spoils of a hunt. If Wrecker hadn't been in love before, he was a goner now.
"See you at the rendezvous, boys!" You bid farewell to his brothers, and then Wrecker was flying.
He'd seen you use the force before; leaping to incredible heights, deflecting a hailstorm of blasterfire, calming the angriest gundarks, even making a tiny flower bloom right before his eyes, but it was another thing entirely to experience it for himself.
You'd explained it to him before: the force was an energy field that connected everything together. He could almost feel that energy field himself in this moment. The air around him tingled, like right before an explosion was primed to go off. Is this what you felt like all the time? It was exhilarating.
You came to a stop some klicks away from the Separatist outpost the others were supposed to infiltrate to find the Wookie prisoners and lay Wrecker down to rest against the trunk of a grand wroshyr tree
"How's your head?" You asked.
Wrecker shrugged, "Dizzy, but it doesn't hurt right now."
"Are you nauseous?"
Wrecker shook his head, and instantly regretted it, "Whoops, now I am."
You pushed him backwards until he was sitting on one of the large, exposed roots, and helped him lean forward to bring his head between his knees.
"Stay like that until it feels better, focus on this leaf and try not to think about throwing up." You placed said leaf on the ground between his feet, and as he looked at it, Wrecker felt his headache fading. You were a lot better at this medical thing that Tech was, more patient, more gentle.
"You're a good medic," He mumbled.
"Why thank you," You grabbed a stick that could serve as a temporary splint for his leg, comparing it to the size of his leg to see if it would hold.
"I wish you could be our medic all the time, you're way better than Tech." Wrecker continued, trying to focus on that one leaf like you'd said. It was still a little blurry, but it was getting better if he concentrated.
You giggled, "Then who'd be your general?"
"Hmm, good point." Wrecker hummed, "I like that you're my general."
You ducked your head, staring intently at his twisted ankle. "I do too, Wrecker."
Wrecker sat up. He couldn't hear very well with only one good ear, but your quiet tone sounded...off. You were never that quiet. Even when Hunter was trying to sleep, you always spoke in a more exaggerated whisper, always making sure Wrecker could hear.
"You okay, General?" he asked, not sure why he felt so shy. Was it true then? Did you really not trust him to do a good job and that's why you were always hovering next to him?
"Huh? Oh yeah, I'm fine!" You insisted. You tore a few strips of fabric from the hem of your robes, wrapping it around his leg as fast as you could.
"Yow!" You wrapped it a little too tightly, and Wrecker yanked his foot out of your grasp.
"Sorry! Sorry, I wasn't paying attention!" you blabbered out apologies, quickly unwrapping the bandage so that you could adjust it. You bit your lip, but your nerves had already spread to Wrecker, who anxiously tapped his fingers against the wroshyr roots while he waited for you to finish bandaging his ankle.
"General?" He started, trying to speak calmly so he wouldn't spook either of you again, "Do you trust me?"
Your hands froze, "Do I what?" Finally, you looked up, puzzlement in your radiant eyes.
Wrecker's heart did a summersault and he gulped.
"I know I can be a bit...a bit much, and sometimes I miss things that are obvious to people like Tech, but I just-"
Both your comms beeped insistently, interrupting Wrecker's heartfelt confession. It was Hunter.
"General, how are you and Wrecker?"
You answered with another curious glance at Wrecker, and he felt embarrassed for even asking.
"We're alright, Sergeant, we're out of danger and getting him all bandaged up."
"Good. The wookiee prisoners are free, and we've handed out the extra weapons we were able to carry."
Wrecker sighed heavily. He was missing all the action! What good was he all bandaged up and stuck on the sidelines? No wonder the General didn't trust him.
He stood up, with every intention of marching back to the outpost to help his brothers, to prove to you that he could be just as reliable as Tech or Hunter, but his ankle just wouldn't support his weight. It slipped out from under him, and he pitched forward.
"Woah!" You were under him in a second, arms wrapped around his torso to keep him from falling face-first into another complex root system.
"...Is everything alright?" Hunter asked over the comms.
"We're fine, hold the outpost for now, and wait for General Windu's regiment to meet you." You cut the comm, and adjusted your hold on Wrecker so that you could look up at him.
"I can't leave you alone for a second without you getting into trouble, can I?" You asked.
Wrecker tried to dig the toe of his boot into the dirt, "I don't mean to, general."
"I know you don't," You grinned at him, and kissed the tip of his nose.
Wrecker froze, heat gathering on his cheeks.
He wasn't thinking. He knew he wasn't, but he never had much of a filter in the first place.
"You're beautiful," He whispered.
Your face went bright red.
"Thank you," You said softly.
You were both silent as you helped him sit back on his throne of roots, and you knelt in front of him, squeezing his hands to grab his attention before his thoughts could start to wander again.
"I trust you Wrecker, I promise. More than even your brothers."
"More than Hunter?" Wrecker asked in surprise.
You nodded, "I promise. Never for a second think that I don't trust you, because I do. Why do you think I always ask you to be my backup every time we have to split up? It's because I know I can trust you to watch out for me the way I look out for you."
Wrecker rubbed the back of his neck with one hand, "Well, I trust you too, General." He said.
You sighed, and opened up your arms, "Get over here, you big goof," you wrapped your arms around his neck, and even before Wrecker could reciprocate, you pressed a kiss to the side of his head.
Wrecker enveloped you in his own arms, holding you close. He may not know exactly what this meant for the two of you, but he might have to get injured more often to find out.

I'll give Crosshair a break with this one 😘
Warnings: Mostly fluff, slight body horror (pregnancy). Crosshair learns more about babies, Dad Crosshair, Pregnant reader.
Cold Winter's Night (Crosshair x Pregnant!Reader)
Tumblr media
The blackout was an inconvenience more than anything. Crosshair was able to see a bit better in the dark than most humans, but squinting into the dark for too long without a visor of some kind strained his eyes.
And so the fire roared long into the night as Crosshair kept watch. Without the constant hum of electricity in the background, and the snow continuing to fall in heavy drifts outside your cabin, it felt too quiet. He didn't like it. He wished he could fall asleep as easily as you did, your head resting on his stomach as you curled around your belly beneath half a dozen blankets.
He gently stroked your shoulder as you slept, giving his hands something to do. You shifted in your sleep, and the blankets slipped off your belly as you stretched out a cramp in your leg. Crosshair reached down to tuck the blankets around you again, and stopped.
Your belly was moving, stretching in a couple spots like something was trying to break out.
It stopped just as suddenly as it had started. Crosshair blinked, wondering if his eyes were playing tricks on him or if he was just going crazy. Then it happened again.
"Sarad, sweetheart, wake up," He jostled your shoulder harshly.
"Mmm, Cross, wha-?" You mumbled, still half asleep.
"I think you have a parasite or something," He panted heavily, thinking of the report on Geonosian Brain worms Tech had read to him as an attempt at a horror story. They still kept him up at night sometimes.
You blinked up at him to clear your blurry vision, and Crosshair couldn't help but think of how this was not the time for you to look so cute.
"I have a what?" You asked, pushing yourself to sit up.
"That!" Crosshair pointed at your stomach as it started to move again.
You watched the jostling and stretching for a little bit longer than Crosshair was comfortable with, especially when you didn't start freaking out like he was.
"Crosshair, that's just the baby," You said at last.
"What?"
You laughed softly, and lay back down with your head on his lap. You gently took one of his hands and placed it against the baby bump.
"Baby's been a little active lately. They're just stretching, trying to get used to having so many limbs."
"It can do that?" He asked.
You nodded, "It's the sign of a perfectly healthy baby. They've been doing it more often because it's been so cold, and it gets the blood flowing more."
Crosshair relaxed his hand against your belly, feeling the baby kick firmly against his palm.
"Does it hurt?"
You half-groaned, half-laughed, "Sometimes. I'm kinda used to it at this point."
Crosshair looked at you in awe. "You are so much more terrifying than I give you credit for."
You grinned back at him, "I know."
Crosshair leaned down, gently pressing a kiss to your forehead and then your lips.
"Go back to sleep, Sarad. I'm sorry for waking you."
"Are you going to go to sleep too?"
"Yes, dear," He sighed. You nodded, satisfied with his answer.
As your eyes fluttered shut and you snuggled closer to him, Crosshair leaned over to your belly, whispering so only the baby would hear.
"I'm glad you're not a parasite, but you need to settle down so your mom can get some sleep, okay?"
You giggled, and Crosshair flashed you that little heart-melting smirk he knew you loved.
"I think baby might be able to do that. For one night."

Alone Together (Tech x Reader)
Notes: no warnings, just fluff. I promised to post this a long time ago and I forgot so here.
Tumblr media
"Darling?" Your face flushed with heat as Hunter smirked at you. You couldn't just pretend you hadn't heard it either.
"Yes, Tech?" You called up to the cockpit.
"Would you mind giving me a hand up here?" Your beloved boyfriend asked.
"Coming!" You jolted out of your seat as if you'd been shocked by a stray wire, leaving the boys snickering in your wake. Their snickers hardly bothered Tech, and usually they didn't bother you, but their teasing combined with Tech's pet name did make you flush significantly.
"Hey," You said, leaning against the pilot's chair. Tech was beneath the console, as always, to check the connection with the Marauder's wings.
"Hey yourself," Tech chuckled from beneath the console.
You knelt down next to him to try and get a look at what he was working on. "What can I help you with?"
"Hand me the hydrospanner," His hand came out from beneath the console, pointing in the direction of his toolbox. You took the long tool from its spot, and placed it in his hand.
"Thank you darling," He purred, just like the Marauder's engines. He used the spanner to adjust a couple of valves, and you were still kneeling next to him.
"Is there anything else you needed my help with?" You asked, growing more and more confused.
The tinkering noises stopped for a moment.
"Would you mind closing the door?" He asked.
Now you were even more confused. You closed the door, cutting you off from the rest of his brothers, but Tech still wouldn't come out from beneath the console.
You sat down in your spot, resting your head against the console, and stared up at the ceiling for a moment while Tech continued his work. Eventually, your gaze made it's way back down to your feet, parallel to Tech's legs.
Giving in to the temptation, you nudged his leg with your foot. No reaction. A stronger nudge, his leg shifted away just a bit. You nudged him again, harder, and Tech pulled himself out from under the console to sit up, meeting your eyes all too quickly.
"Yes, my dear?" He asked, goggles a hair's breadth from your lashes.
Your breath caught in your throat for a moment.
"I-I should be asking you that," You stammered.
"Pardon?"
You crossed your arms, "Why'd you call me in here to help if you were just gonna make me sit here while you do all the work?"
Tech's eyes widened as something became clear to him.
"I...did not call you in here to help me," He said, "I just...I noticed we haven't been spending as much time together, so I thought that...you would sit with me? While I fixed the wings?"
Oh.
A sudden rush of love for your boyfriend flooded your heart, and you cradled his chin in your hand.
"You could have just told me that, silly!" Your breath escaped your lips in a huff as you kissed his nose.
"I'm not good at that," Tech pouted. You laughed and kissed his forehead.
"We'll work on it," You murmured, finally placing a soft kiss on his lips.
He smiled against your lips, "Does that mean you'll stay with me while I finish the repairs?"
You cradled his face in your hands, "Of course, my love."

Notes: No warnings, sick child, discussion of death, female reader. The Pergil lullaby is from @marierg. Not beta read, I wrote half of this in a fitful haze as soon as I got this ask, promptly lost it all by hitting the wrong button and couldn't recover it, and then re-wrote it in an even sleepier, more fitful haze. You shifted your hold on your toddler to keep him from slipping out of your arms, gently bouncing him as he cried, hoping it would help him go back to sleep. It had been two days without sleep, so you were willing to try anything
"Oh baby pergil, little baby pergil, flying through the sky..." You murmured beneath your breath. This was your fifth time singing through the song, but it seemed to be working,
And then your comm began to glow with an impending message.
It was one in the morning, but you were too tired to wonder who could be calling you at this hour. Plus, you could use the distraction.
"H'lo?" You asked.
"Are you sitting down?" It was Kix. Dr. "Medical comes before sleep", who would turn right around and scold you for not getting what sleep you could get with a baby.
Fives was starting to fuss, now that you weren't serenading him. "I can't, I just got Iv'ika to calm down, and if I sit down it'll make it worse."
"Look, I've got something important to tell you, and I really think that you should sit down before-"
"Is someone dead or dying?" You asked.
"For once, no," Kix laughed half-heartedly, "Are you sitting-"
"Are you gonna tell me whatever this is or not?"
There was a beat of silence on the other end of the comm.
"We found Echo."
Your stomach twisted, pushing everything out f your stomach and up your throat, threatening to make you vomit.
"Don't- don't- don't you dare joke about that," You snapped. The sudden sharpness in your tone made Fives cry out.
"I'm not joking, look-"
"Did Jesse put you up to this?" You demanded as your eyes began to sting with more than just the lack of sleep, "Tell him he's a mir'sheb-"
"Jesse doesn't even know yet! Rex told me to-"
"You're all a bunch of miserable old men, and I never want to speak to any of you ever again."
You hung up before Kix could hear you sob. Fives was already crying, and you had to be strong for him, like you had for his whole life.
You held your son tightly, caressing his sweaty hair while you focused on singing lullabies, not about the dead father of your child. In your hand, your comm kept buzzing as Kix and even Jesse tried to call you back. Until finally, you blocked them, and Rex too for good measure, not even bothering to read the messages they tried to send you.
Fives fell asleep about an hour later, and you pondered your reaction.
Rex and Kix weren't the type to play pranks in the middle of the night, and Jesse might have been a bit of an arse, but he wouldn't prank you like this, would he? Not even Fives would have gone that far, especially not when it came to the life of a beloved brother.
Could Echo really be alive?
You'd have to worry about that later. Fives was asleep, and you had work in a couple hours. You had to try and get some sleep while the opportunity was fresh.
Tumblr media
Your woke to the smell of your mother making breakfast. She immediately came in and took Fives from your arms, cooing to her grandson while she changed his diaper. You took a quick shower and smeared on some makeup to cover the dark circles under your eyes. When you stepped out of the refresher to get dressed, your mother was singing one of the lullabies she always used to sing to you.
"I think his fever's broken," She smiled at you, and you felt a bit of the huge weight lifted off your shoulders.
"Be good for Nana, okay?" You told Fives. He was a bit fussy, but nowhere near how he was last night. You could breathe easy at the office, even though you were almost late, and let yourself focus on fielding calls from agitated customers and filling out the proper files for each complaint.
You were still exhausted, though, so as you made a fresh pot of caff your mind wandered back to Kix's comm last night. You should really just apologize to him, but you felt so embarrassed. Ever since Echo died, the boys of the 501st had been there for you. Holding your hair back while you threw up from morning sickness and learning how to cook so that you could nap and have a proper meal when you woke up. In the end, pride kept you from unblocking them then and there, but as you made your way back to your desk with a cup of caff, your mother commed you.
"Mom, is everything okay?"
"Honey, there's a group of clones here to see you. lots of them."
A shiver ran through you and you groaned. You were gonna get an earful from all of them, weren't you.
"Tell them I'm on my way. I'll be there in a minute."
"Do I have to let them in?"
You paused. Your mom could be blunt from time to time. She was a wonderful mother and an even better grandmother, but she still wasn't used to the idea that you'd had a child with a clone. Having been a single mother herself, she got protective real fast. It was probably best that they stayed outside.
You apologized profusely to your boss for leaving early, and ended up playing the desperate single mother card. The sloppy makeup job and the faint perfume of sick baby that was following you everywhere as of late certainly helped sell the act.
When you got to your apartment, Rex, Kix, and Jesse were waiting, along with six other troopers. Four of them wore dark gray armor, while two had armor that was more white like the standard trooper armor.
One of those troopers looked at you with wide eyes, and you couldn't blame him. You had to look as much like a ghost as he did. He had the same nose shape and facial structure as all the other clones, but he was incredibly emaciated and pale. His white armor looked to be the kind that they gave civilians in the field, and it was clearly padded out in some places to help him fill out the bodysuit.
"Did you have to bring everyone and scare my mom half to death?" You sighed to Rex.
"Hey, they insisted," Jesse waved to the squad of new troopers dismissively and held out his arms for a hug. Given everything that had happened in the last few days, you accepted the comforting embrace without question.
"We tried comming you to tell you we were coming, but for some reason our messages won't go through," Rex placed his hand on his hip, all business.
You folded your arms and glared at Kix. "That'll happen when you call someone at midnight to pull their leg."
"I wasn't pulling your leg!" Kix sighed in exasperation and grabbed the emaciated trooper's arm, pulling him to stand in front of you.
You took a step back, "Um, hi?"
"Hi," He said softly. He coughed to clear his throat and repeated the greeting in a firmer tone.
"Well, what do you want?" You asked, oblivious to the revelation that was right in front of you.
Rex sighed, "You'll remember Echo, right?"
You stopped. you looked the emaciated trooper up and down, but refused to look him in the eyes.
"Rex," You took a deep breath, "Please don't do this to me. Not today-"
"But it's him!" Jesse exclaimed, "We found him and rescued him on Anaxes!"
"We?" One of the dark-armored troopers demanded, flicking a toothpick at Jesse.
"Well it's easier than explaining ev- Is it really so hard to believe that after everything karked-up that's happened to us, something good might have actually happened?"
"Boys," Rex said sharply. He nodded down the hall, and most of your little group ambled off to give you some distance.
"Cyare..." The trooper who everyone said was Echo reached out his right hand towards you, then returned it to his side. It wasn't much of a hand anymore, there was a scomplink attachment in its place.
"Cyar'ika, you're trembling," He noticed, a hint of terror in his voice. You kept your eyes on the floor. He was one to speak, how could he even stand on those wobbling legs?
His helmet fell on the floor as his left hand--still a hand--came up to cradle your cheek, wiping away a single tear.
Don't cry, you told yourself, don't cry, don't cry, don't cry.
With that tender touch, you finally allowed yourself to look him in the eyes.
A million men had the same brown eyes as Echo, but none of them shone when they looked at you like Echo's did.
"Prove it. Tell me something I've never told anyone el-"
"You talk in your sleep. It's probably because you need a cup of tea before you go to bed."
Your breath caught in your throat.
"I wanted to name our son after Fives, but you said he'd get to big a head about it."
You managed a laugh, "He did get a big head about it."
Echo chuckled, and the scomp on his right arm rested against your arm as he pulled you closer.
"I told you I wanted to marry you as soon as the war was over, and you tried to convince me to move it up until after my last mission."
You gasped out a sob, wiping your runny nose on the sleeve of your blouse. Echo wrapped his arms around you, and you pulled him even closer.
"So you really named him after Fives?" Echo gasped, pressing kisses to the crown of your head.
You squeezed him as tightly as you dared. When you hugged him before he left for the citadel, Your arms almost couldn't make their way around him. Now you feared that if you held him the wrong way, he'd snap like a twig.
"It was what you wanted, what else was I supposed to name him?"
Echo took your chin in his hand, fiercely pressing a kiss to your lips. You could feel a year and a half's worth of loneliness and longing behind the passion in that kiss. All the fear, pain, and isolation the both of you had felt without each other. You almost couldn't bring yourself to stop kissing him. If you stopped kissing him you thought you might wake up in the middle of the night with your crying baby on your chest.
"I want to meet him," Echo said in between kisses.
Your heart fluttered. Echo was going to meet his son. Fives was finally going to meet his dad.
"Yes, yes," You gasped, and grasped his hand, pulling him into your apartment. It was almost exactly the same as the last time he'd been there, with the exception of all the baby toys strewn about and the holos of you and Fives hanging on the wall.
Your mother was in the kitchen, spatula in hand, making dinner and watching the door at the same time.
"Where's Fives?" You asked her.
"He's asleep, but-"
You ignored her protests and brought Echo into your room.
Fives was just waking up when you opened the door. He'd lost his pacifier while tossing and turning, but that allowed Echo's first view of his son to be the big, wide-toothed smile he gave you.
"Hello precious boy!" You swooped across the room and swept him into your arms. He had a bit of a cowlick from the way he'd slept, and you tried to smooth it back, but it didn't do much.
"Fiv'ika, there's someone you need to meet," You whispered calmly, "Can you be a good boy for mama?"
Fives didn't say anything, but he buried his face into your neck, cooing softly.
You brought him over to Echo, who stood in the bedroom doorway, spellbound at the sight of the two of you. You had never been able to see how Little Fives' eyes looked exactly like Echo's, but now that you had them next to each other, the likeness was unmistakable.
"I...I don't know if I can hold him," Echo held out his arms. You could see his heart, struggling not to break as he watched you cuddle your son. Your son. Yours and Echo's. A proper family now.
"Sit on the bed," you nodded. Echo did so, and you pushed him back against the pillows so that you could lay Fives on his chest.
Fives blinked his dark brown eyes at Echo, drinking in the not-so-stranger's face. Echo stayed as still as possible, like a sniper in wait. The baby wasn't as heavy as he expected, and he was scared to hurt him. His hands were made for combat and firing weapons, no for child rearing.
Fives' head dropped suddenly, his forehead smacking against Echo's collarbone.
"Yow!" Echo gasped in surprise, but Fives wasn't upset. He rubbed his face against Echo's neck, just like he had with you.
"He likes you," You said, lying next to Echo. You placed your hand on his upper arm and squeezed.
"He likes me?" Echo asked.
"He does," You whispered, tears brimming in your eyes, "And guess what?"
"What?" there was a hint of fear in Echo's voice. Today had already been a very long day for the both of you.
You rested your head on Echo's shoulder, close enough that you could press a kiss to Fives' dark curls.
"I like you too."
