My work schedule is changing from monday tuesday days off to sunday monday days off, which means my family is going to force me to go to church again, which will cause me an understandable amount of mental anguish as I return to like. Being ritually told to burn in literal hell for being gay by a guy who doesn't even know I am and claims to love me and want the best for me and like etc etc religious trauma that makes me so violently miserable I have to puke three times a day to get through it, but I get to leave my full day of church at 9 30 at night to go to work and take sommelier classes for free and 😏😏 kinda sexy

AITA for not telling my girlfriend something wasn't kosher?
We normally share food when we go to eat somewhere. I (23 M) know that she (2- F) gets triggered (literal definition) when she breaks the rules of her religion and it sends her into a spiral of needing to purify and fix her mistakes. She's very faithful to a fault and I can respect that.
I respect it so much that I haven't told her that when we shared the chicken bake at costco last month I learned it has bacon in it (I didn't know at the time and I finally looked up what was in it). We should have looked it up the first time but we assumed it was safe because none of the other foods on the menu at costco had bacon on it.
I feel bad about not telling her but does she need to know? She'll take days of constant prayer and cleansing and I don't want to say it's frustrating but she barely takes care of herself while she's doing it unless it means it'll get her "back on track" (her words). She won't eat, she won't sleep, she won't shower.
I would tell her if she wasn't as frantic about it, and I'll probably warn her when she forgets about that incident and we go to costco again and she begs for part of my lunch.
I will also mention that in Judaism, you're forgiven if you happen to break kosher under certain conditions (too poor to eat kosher, physically disabled, unaware of ingredients, etc) so from an outsider standpoint this would be a non-issue.
She doesn't like that rule though and tries to keep kosher as much as possible, even if it means she sometimes can't eat it. That's why I'm thinking if she doesn't know/remember then she'll be safe and won't have to hurt herself to get "back on track".
I get it if I'm the AH though.
What are these acronyms?

Iran protest.
I never ask for reblogs but this needs to be reblogged. I'm not seeing many reblogs or posts about this in my feed. Whatever is happening in Iran, needs exposure to more and more people around the world. In the name of religion and morality, an innocent lost her life. We can never even know how many people have already lost their lives in the past years.
They talk about morality but do the most disgusting thing. It shouldn't be "Morality Police" when they are moral-less themselves and beat an individual to literal death.
Nobody can tell you how you want to wear your hijab or if you wanna wear it at all. It's about respect from the heart. And it is great shame on the Iranian government for trying to hide everything.
I'll add more posts as I find them. If you have something to share, please do it or link other posts for me as well!
Note: I have attached more links in the reblog, look for them as well!

Daily update post:
I have to start this one with the sad news that the hero who saved others by stopping the terrorist yesterday, despite being stabbed in several places (including in the neck), has passed away. His name was Uri Moyal, he was 51 years old, he leaves behind a wife and three kids. Yesterday, the number of wounded was still not fully clear, today it's confirmed that in addition to Uri, the terrorist managed to injure 2 more people. In the pic below you can see Uri holding up a lifetime achievement award. At his funeral today, his daughter Sapir mourned him: "Thank you for being a dad, who was also a teacher for life. There is no one who knew you and didn't fall in love with you."
Tumblr media
The German press has reported (so far I've only managed to find this English source) that this week, the antisemitic, genocidal slogan "From the river to the sea" has been found painted in Arabic on the site of the 1972 kidnapping and massacre of 11 Israeli athletes by Palestinian terrorists. I'll point out that recently, the grandson of one of the murdered athletes was attacked (he had several bones in his face broken) in Berlin by an Arab anti-Israel activist.
Tumblr media
A terrorist attack was prevented from happening, when two Palestinians, carrying a big knife and a sword, were arrested on their way to a Jewish community in the middle of the night. They're currently being questioned.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After Canada and Sweden, now Australia has also announced that it will renew its funding of UNRWA. I may sound like a broken record, but this is morally broken. They KNOW that UN agency is complicit in countless crimes of helping anti-Jewish hate and violence, the IDF evidence uncovered thanks to the war are just the tip of the iceberg when we're actually talking about decades of complicity, and resuming the funding without any changes, without even an investigation into this being completed, means these countries don't even care about looking as if they care about Jewish and Israeli lives. It's beyond ccontemptible. So. Canada, Sweden and now Australia, whenever these countries' heads tell you that they care about human rights, know that this includes, "but not for Jews."
Tumblr media
And because I mentioned the long, long complicity of UNRWA (and many in charge of or dealing with it), here's the CEO of the NGO UN Watch explaining it better than most can, because they have been working for years on calling attention to the wrongdoing of UNRWA:
There's this common lie spread by the anti-Israel crowd, that everything was just peachy between Jews and Muslim in the Middle East, until Zionism came along. This is a blatant erasure of repeated discrimination, persecution, forced conversions, expulsions and massacres perpetrated against Jews living in Muslim majority countries for centuries. The ethnic cleansing of the entire Middle East of Jews (other than in Israel) is only the climax of that long history of antisemitism under Muslim rule, exactly like the Holocaust is just the climax of the long history of antisemitism under Christian European rule. And yesterday, I came across another reminder.
Tumblr media
I was listening to an interview with Rabbi Abraham Cooper, an American rabbi, about the discrimination he had recently suffered during a trip to Saudi Arabia. I'd read the headlines, but hearing him tell it in his own words (in amazing Hebrew, might I add) really drove it home. He was heading a US delegation meant to inspect the state of religious freedom in Saudi Arabia, when he gets a phone call from the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, telling him that the Saudis have laws which must be respected, and which dictate that no one but "the members of our religion" (meaning, Muslims) can walk around publicly displaying signs of their religious identity. In other words, Rabbi Cooper was told to remove his kippah (the head cover religious Jews wear). Rabbi Cooper asked the official on the phone, whether he was sure, and tried arguing against this decision. When the demand was reaffirmed, Rabbi Cooper responded that he wouldn't take off his kippah for the Soviets decades ago, and he wouldn't be taking it off for the Saudis, either. That meant he had to leave, and so the delegation had to end its visit. This isn't a small incident of anti-Jewish discrimination in the 1930's, in an Arab country where no one would even bat an eye at that. This is a Saudi official, speaking to an American Jew, in 2024, during an official visit, meant to check the state of religious freedom in that country, while Saudi Arabia is doing its best to present a more tolerant, modern and progressive image for the world. And this still happened. There is a long tradition of antisemitism in the Middle East, it doesn't simply disappear even when Jews were forced to, and the attempts to deny it with the excuse of "But Zionism!" are antisemitic, too.
Tumblr media
This is Hadar Gadol.
Tumblr media
He's an Israeli author, a practitioner of alternative medicine, and as a reservist, he serves as a casualty officer (an army official who lets a family know that their loved one was killed in combat, in Israel a casualty officer also continues to work with and support the family after the initial notification, kind of like a social worker appointed by the army). In January, IDF soldier Mark Kononovich was killed. A few weeks ago, as party of taking care of the family, Hadar took Mark's dad Alex on a tour of the last army post where Mark and the friends who died with him had slept. In the middle of that, Hadar got a heart attack. Alex happens to be a doctor, he recognized the signs, administered some first aid, and made sure Hadar would be taken to the hospital to receive the treatment he needed. This is Hadar after being released from the hospital, visiting Alex to thank him (you can also see Mark's younger brother in the pic):
Tumblr media
During this visit, Alex told Hadar, "You took our case as very close to you, you felt it like we do, very close to the heart." I have no doubt their bond is gonna be there for years to come. Hadar is actually not the first Israeli casualty officer I've heard of, who collapsed and was in need of hospitalization since Oct 7, just the latest. I think that in a way says something about how acutely Israelis feel the pain of the massacre, whether we personally lost someone or not.

So, I post that Good Gay Shit and y’all throw unadulterated thoughts, headcanons, and whatnot into my asks.
That’s it.

If you somehow missed it in my bio:
MINORS DO NOT INTERACT.
I will not interact with asks from ageless blogs.
Also, please don't come here to lecture me or anyone else on this blog about real world religion. I've done my time, and had my fill.
Now I write fanfiction about boys topless, oiled up, kissing each other probably.
This blog is just for fun- have a go!
Which brings me to my final point: I will also casually filth dump on here if and when the spirit moves me.
Man's gotta scrub their brain of Unholy Shit too.
Anyways, welcome to the Confessional and enjoy your time here x
I look forward to speaking with you.
~ Quick addition! ~
Because this has happened quite a few times already, I’d like to make it clear:
Please DO NOT send real world shit into my asks. I won’t interact with people’s real life trauma.
It’s a huge mental and emotional load for me to answer heavy shit, plus vicarious trauma exists, and that’s not the goal of this blog.
Keep it fun, y’all ❤️
If you need help, please seek your local GP or mental health professional, or reach out to friends and family. There is no shame or harm in doing so. We all need help, it’s part of being human x
Thanks again, my dears.

that's it for jötun design party! i had so much fun seeing everyone's designs. the most difficult part was picking the winners, but i got there in the end! here are the winners, why i picked them, and the prizes they won!
as i will not be using this account anymore, i'll leave this as the pinned post and link to This Post as well as the #orientalism search for anyone who may stumble upon this blog in the future ❄️
Tumblr media
Jötun Design Party Winners
First Place
Prize: full-body drawing of a character (original or otherwise) of their choice. I have your discord, and will contact you when I have the time to start and complete your drawing!
@therese-lokidottir
Tumblr media Tumblr media
elegant and cohesive, it's clear that a lot of thought was put into the world and culture of jötunheim. every design is distinct and filled with personality while still maintaining a singular aesthetic. looking at these designs together, it's easy to imagine how the characters might interact with each other and their vibrant world.
Second Place
Prize: half-body drawing of a character (original or otherwise) of their choice. Please message this tumblr with your preferred method of communication (Discord, Instagram, or Tumblr itself) and I will contact you when I have the time to start and complete your drawing!
@ak800
Tumblr media
looking at this design, it's easy to tell how much love, time, and effort was put into it. with elements that mirror loki's canon moteifs altered in ways that feel cozy, it's undeniable that there was a lot of thought put into the jötnar as a people. they mirror asgard in a way that directly contrasts the claims we see the aesir make of them, while still feeling like a separate and distinct culture with their personalized magic, unique horns, and clear social dynamics
Third Place
Prize: bust-shot drawing of a character (original or otherwise) of their choice. Please message this tumblr with your preferred method of communication (Discord, Instagram, or Tumblr itself) and I will contact you when I have the time to start and complete your drawing!
@corvusartchronicles
Tumblr media
while deceptively simple, this design is thoughtful and paints a very different picture of jötunheim than we are used to seeing in canon. this design implies a combination of mythologies, which we are very used to in marvel, while giving love and thought to a vivid world of religion which is not often given the same respect as norse or greek mythology. protected from the weather in a way that would not make a temperature-sensitive frost giant overheat, loki's design is full of love for both fantasy, and the very real people who often inspire it 💞
Tumblr media
it means the world to me that as many people participated as they did and i really hope that this contest helped make this fandom a more inclusive space in some way
picking the winners for this was SO DIFFICULT. so under the cut, i have also enthused about some of the submitted designs because i wanted to be able to share my thoughts on more of them. i'm so sorry that i wasn't able to get to everyone!!
treacheroustrickster
Tumblr media
all of those shades of green? i am in love
red tichel!!! was this a callback to loki's red hair in mythology? I AM IN LOVE EITHER WAY!!!
i know it's based on a canon design and russian ashkenazi fashion but the hair jewelry just looks so in-place here. if it was cold enough outside that i needed to layer my clothes then i too would prefer to wear my metals in my hair where it wouldn't feel cold against my skin
newsted
Tumblr media
this one specifically is just so ROYAL to me. far more than most of the entries! it has my heart
the riding pants >>>
the fingerless gloves >>>>
this design, with the minimal layers of clothing mixed with the warm cloak, makes me feel like it's designed to keep loki protected from the cold winds that comes with riding horses at high speeds in the winter
vvviktor
Tumblr media
NY FRIEND I LOVE THE DETAILS
the embroidery on the sleeves
and the idea of loki in bronze instead of gold is one that i adore. i associate gold so heavily with asgard AND with loki that whenever i try to design jötun lokis, it's incredibly difficult to pick whether to use gold or not. bronze is the PERFECT solution to this
also shut up the feet literally are not bad
du-ed
Tumblr media
HOOVES!!!!!!
okay cuteness aggression aside i think this is such a smart idea for the jötnar.
it helps with that balance of showing them in minimal clothing to get across their lack of sensitivity to the cold while also actually protecting them from the snow they are likely at least knee-deep in half the time
like yes. just yes
of COURSE they would look like this it just makes sense to me
imreaallyasorry
Tumblr media
look at this. JUST LOOK AT IT. what more do i need to say
its perfect. i will be following you on my new account
this is the cutest thing i've seen in my entire life
also the staff/scepter is so cool, it's gorgeous, that's MY moon queen and magic theatre
unityrain24
Tumblr media
this one is SO COOL, it's my absolute favorite out of the designs you submitted.
it looks so warm and sleek, and the idea that travel wear is so different from everyday wear makes me wonder just how harsh the conditions on the planet are.
i'm an absolute sucker for designs that are distinctly alien like this and it has my heart i love it so so much

27.12. Lucifer - Christmas cards (18+)
Tumblr media
    ༺☆༻
A/N: So we've made it to the end ^^ Hope you had an awesome holidays! Thx for your support on this event and just a reminder: my requests are open for anybody! Oh and Happy New Year, guys! ^^
⟡ Masterlist ⟡
₊˚⊹.* The Yule festival of Hell *.⊹˚₊
‎‧₊˚✧ 18+ Minors Do Not Interact‎ ✧˚₊‧
    ༺☆༻
Lucifer never liked celebrating Christmas for a rather obvious reason. Of course you want to respect that, but you just hate to see him be miserable while everyone around him is celebrating. Or worse yet, celebrate yourself while he's just hiding in his dark chambers.
So this year you've decided to help him take his mind off everything and just enjoy the cozy atmosphere of the season. Yes, you decorated, but you've made a point to exclude all religious imagery. That proved to be easier task than in the human world.
Currently you're sitting together and watching some movies about Santa Claus, since that's the only Christmas genre where religion isn't shoved down anyone's throat. There's a plate of cookies you've made together on the conference table in front of you. Finding out that Lucifer is an amazing baker was a welcomed surprise for the both of you.
Suddenly you're interrupted from your watching by Morax, knocking on the inside of the door leading to the living room. “I'm sorry to interrupt, but I've been asked to deliver you all these Christmas cards immediately.”
Lucifer seems annoyed, so you answer instead of him: “Sure! You can set them on the table, here. Oh, and take some cookies for you and Buer with Marbas.”
Morax courtly sets down the bag full of Christmas wishes and takes three gingerbread creatures from the plate you're holding up to him. You can tell he's cautious, not wanting to aggravate Lucifer.
“Happy holidays, Your Majesty.” he takes his leave with a bow.
“I... don't want these.” Lucifer sighs sadly once Morax is out of sight and earshot.
“Okay. I'll just go through them and write down the names of demons to which I'll then send a thank you note. You can just continue watching and I'll take care of everything.” you kiss his cheek and open the bag. The cards come flooding out of it and you're already starting to regret your decision.
Equipped with a pen and a notepad you tell yourself that you won't read any of those actual wishes or you'll be writing down names until the next year. That proves to be hard as many demons hide their names in the actual wishes or don't sign them at tall.
Yet still everything goes well, until you get to a Christmas card from the Red Lump family. It has a photo of almost every member on the front of it. Despite all the red lumps you're able to find Ppyong immediately. He's happily grinning while holding something that looks like a chocolate bar.
The sight itself puts a smile on your face too. You open the card to read its contents. This family deserves their holiday wishes read since they're the ones who helped you settle in after your initial arrival to Hell. The happy scribbling inside is so adorable and somehow every family member managed to write something on the rather small space of paper.
Smiling even wider, some tears swell in your eyes and you chuckle to yourself. This doesn't go without notice from Lucifer. His eyes are immediately trained on your face. You're tearing up. You might even cry from how cute the card is. Are you gonna cry?
Lucifer is now breathing heavily. The sight of your glossed over eyes makes him wish for more and rushes most of his blood south. If the card isn't gonna make you cry, he for sure will. Either with pleasure or pain, he doesn't care.
You notice his stare and quickly realise your mistake. His face is red and his chest is hevaing up and down. All of this only from tearing up.
In the blink of an eye you're pinned do the seat underneath you and Lucifer's face is so close to yours, you can feel his hot exhales and freezing inhales. He's looking you in the eyes, maybe for more tears to come out. His slender hands start travelling over your body and one of them grips you by your neck. The other hoists your leg around his hip.
“M-more tears... Give me more tears.” he demands and slowly grinds his growing boner onto your thigh, reminding you how huge he is.
“L-luci!” you mewl out and blink your eyes to allow the previous glossiness to turn into tears. Maybe he will go easier on you?
“More!” he starts tearing both of your clothes off.
With both your bodies naked, you realise what Lucifer intents to do and a slight panic takes over your body. More tears running down your cheeks only seem to rile him up more.
“Luci! You're way too big. There's no way it would fit!” you plea in your panicked state, which seems to hinder the demon above you. He stops for a moment and then quickly takes your leg off his hip, joining it with your other leg.
Holding your legs together he pushes himself between your thighs, making sure to at least slide along your pussy since he can't be inside. You're the only person he's let in since his fall and he doesn't want to injure you.
The sight you get is slightly awkward and yet still hot. Lucifer kneeling with your legs over his shoulder and the tip popping up between your thigh as he deliciously drags against your clit.
“Cry some more pretty tears for me, Y/N.” Lucifer asks, now slightly more composed than before and reaches down to stroke your cheeks, still sticky with the previous tears.
Still overcoming the initial panic, shedding a few more tears is an easy task and yo you allow yourself to cry a little bit. Seeing just a few more droplets makes Lucifer speed his grinding up as he's holding your legs together in a slightly painful hold.
You're getting close and accidentally let out few sobs, which seems to excite the demon above you even more and soon enough your thigh are getting pounded, bringing you faster to climax than you'd expect from this position.
And sure enough, you do come within a few moments which makes you tense your thighs up and in turn trigger Lucifer's orgasm.
“C-can I taste your tears?” the demon pulls out from between your thighs still hard and bends down to intently stare into your eyes, awaiting an answer.
    ༺☆༻
But wait, this demon also has a gift for you!
"You're the only light in my life since my fall. You deserve to wear a halo more than me."

"All right, then, I'll go to hell”
Huckleberry Finn's friend Jim, a runaway slave, has been locked up in a shed and has been sold. Huck is thinking about what to do and remembers what he learned in Sunday School of what happens to folks who assist runaway slaves.
“People that acts as I’d been acting about [Jim] goes to everlasting fire.”
(After all, the Bible is clear: “Slaves obey your earthly masters with respect and fear”- Ephesians 6:5.)
Huck decides to write a letter to the lady from whom Jim ran away to let her know where Jim can be found. Huck believes he'd been close to going to Hell for aiding Jim as he fled his enslavement, but now Huckleberry feels washed clean from his sins. Then Huck starts thinking of all the good times he had with Jim, and how he is now the only friend Jim has, and yet he is going to betray Jim. He looks at the letter he had written.
“I took it up, and held it in my hand. I was a trembling, because I'd got to decide, forever, betwixt two things, and I knowed it. I studied a minute, sort of holding my breath, and then says to myself: "All right, then, I'll go to hell"- and tore it up.”
This is the moral climax of the book Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. Huck makes a moral choice based on his own valuation of Jim's friendship and human worth, a decision in direct opposition to the things he has been taught.
I feel the LDS Church puts queer people in this same quandary. We aren't equal to the other humans around us. We must live in a way that doesn't fit our orientation or gender identity and then we can go to heaven. But should we dare fall in love with someone and spend our life with them, or choose to love ourselves and express how we experience our gender identity, then no Celestial Kingdom for you. You're forever cast off to one of the lower kingdoms.
How many queer Latter-day Saints receive comforting messages from God that it's fine to move forward, that they are created this way? How many fall in love and then have to make this terrible choice of heaven or the person they love? How many can trade in their dysphoria if they will accept themselves and live authentic to their identity? How is it the thing that feels the most right and brings the most joy is also the thing which our religion strictly forbids?
We're reminded that there's eternal joy if we can struggle to deny ourselves in this life. But then we read in the Book of Mormon that "men are that they might have joy," and yet I'm to go without? I need to be miserable now in the hopes of joy once I'm dead?
"All right, then, I'll go to hell"

If you had to pick one film that was your favorite from each unit of your Queer Cinema Syllabus, which ones would they be and why?
The Queer Cinema Syllabus grew out of a conversation that @shortpplfedup and I were having about what queer works I would show to a prospective BL fan, which eventually led to the creation of @the-conversation-pod. Captain Hands here has decided to run the gauntlet and has reached Unit 2.
Unit 1: Coming of Age Post-Moonlight
Tumblr media
It's definitely Pariah (2011). This movie and Moonlight (2016) are having a complex conversation about Blackness and Queerness that feels so resonant to me. It's so rare that we see lesbians of any sort treated with this much complexity and sympathy in a contemporary setting. The complex web of lesbian interactions here isn't matched that often, and the only other movie that comes to mind it The Watermelon Woman (1996).
Unit 2: Race, Disability, and Class
Tumblr media
Probably The Way He Looks (2014) because it's an easy layup to introduce folks to the genre. The intersection between Leo's blindness and his queerness gives the newer person multiple things to think about and forces them to consider how queer people are more than just their queerness. I also feel warmly about this film because it was a project we followed all the way from short film to movie, and I love that we were able to get the entire cast back.
Unit 3: Faith and Religion
Tumblr media
You haven't gotten here, but this is where things start to get especially heavy. I think for this section I'm going with The Wise Kids (2011) because I really like the way Stephen Cone approaches the struggle with faith queer and non-queer people have in evangelical spaces. There's an honesty that I really admire. This is not an easy film, but it's lingered with me for over a decade.
Unit 4: Heartbreak Alley
Tumblr media
This is the section of straight losses. I don't know that I ever want to watch it again, but I would probably select Bent (1997) as my favorite because the idea that we could still love even in the greatest of horrors spoke to me. I also think the performances in this adaptation are phenomenal.
Unit 5: Lesbians
Tumblr media
I think we just passed Lesbian Visibility Day, so happy birthday, lesbians! This is actually a difficult selection because there are so many great films in this section. I think, today, I'm giving it to The Handmaiden (2016), but I almost chose Bound (1996).
Unit 6: Gems
Tumblr media
I don't even need to look to know Big Eden (2000) is in this section. This section whips ass all around, but Big Eden is my favorite because there's just so much love all over this movie, and every new fact I learn about the BTS of it makes me love it more. Arye Gross and Eric Shweig did not have to go as hard as they did in this movie. The director left that choice to them a veteran actors and they did that 23 years ago. Nothing but admiration and respect. This is one of my most beloved films.
Unit 7: Asian Film Warm-up
Tumblr media
This is a difficult selection because I think it depends on my mood, but for now, I'll go with The Stranger by the Shore (2020). This is a very Japanese take on second-chance romance. I like the way Japan approaches the quiet internalized homophobia that grips us. Some of the same things in Minato's Laundromat can be found here. It's also gorgeous and approaches sex in a frank way that I really loved.
Unit 8: Yaoi
Tumblr media
Once again I don't even need to look to know that it's Yuri!!! On Ice (2016). This show is so goddamn gay. I know people feel like it was censored because of the kiss, but these two proposed to each other. It's what sports anime wishes it could be with the open queerness on display from so many characters. It's beautiful and so much fun.
Unit 9: Boys Love
Tumblr media
I will not be selecting a favorite BL, but I will say that I really love The Boy Foretold by the Stars (2020) and it's a movie. I loved that we had a femme lead for once and that they explored what faith meant for femmes. It's a film that took the romantic lead's gay awakening very seriously and explored what being together might look like in a sequel called Love Beneath the Stars.
I'm looking forward to you completing the syllabus!

The story of how Mordred called Merlin mom and then proceeded to call Arthur dad and now he's adopted into the family
Author: Me aka @dalazygamerneko
Inspired by @tongjaitongjai merthur idea, check out it out here: 🐓x🐦=🐣
♤•°•♡•°•♤•°•♡•°•♤•°•♡•°•♤•°•♡•°•♤
It was ordinary day. Birds were singing, training went well and the maids were busy but happily chatting.
Nothing could go wrong Mordred thought as he made his way to the afternoon roundtable meeting when he came across Merlin or Emrys as he is known amongst druids, quickly he hid into an alcove and gazed in envy at Lord Emrys, no, Merlin smiling and holding a little boy in his arms.
It's moments like these that he wished he knew his mother longer but he could barely remember her. He watched quietly at the soft look in Merlin's eyes and utter joy upon the little boy's face as they hugged each other, Mordred wondered if his mother would've looked at him the same way Merlin did.
He sighed, leaning back against the stone walls Mordred couldn't help but want to revert back into being a child again just so Merlin wouldn't gaze coldly at him, albeit he probably deserved it for the words of hatred he said in his youth. He knew now Merlin never meant to lead those knights towards his camp. That the warlock was only trying to help Morgana.
"What can I do to earn your trust?"
Mordred shook his head, he'd think of something maybe ask one of the knights for help? He's noticed that Sir Lancelot and Sir Gwaine are closer to Merlin than the other knights.
'They're also the most protective of him' Mordred thought dryly, a crease upon his brow as multiple ideas popped into his mind and many he shot down knowing it won't work.
"Well, I'll just have to hope the triple Goddess guides me." Mordred mumbled, he looked out into the hallway, Merlin was gone, most likely doing chores for the King.
Mordred chuckled as he continued walking, he would never understand the relationship Emrys and the once and future King had with each other. There were times they seem like close comrades begrudging in their respect for one another and then other times they would argue fondly like any old married couple.
Not surprising when plenty of townsfolk as well as even the nobles have speculated in the past if Merlin was being courted by Prince Arthur, to any outsider it certainly looked that way therefore Merlin was given the "mistress" treatment.
Now everyone are wondering(more like waiting impatiently) when will the King announce his engagement to Merlin.
"If I remember correctly, doesn't Sir Gwaine have a bet going on?"
Mordred pondered. 'Yeah, I'll definitely join in. There's no way they're NOT together. I mean, I've seen the lingering stares they give each other as if there is no one around them.'
Soon he was at the doors leading to the roundtable meeting, nodding at the vigilant guards they let him through. His eyes slowly moved over the knights, nobles and some commoners before landing on Merlin who was standing behind the King's chair.
An unassuming figure, most often underestimated but to those who know magic deeply or follow the old religion, Emrys entire being is a vast ocean of wild magic swirling in such a magnitude that no mere mortal could ever understand or harness the power Emrys wields.
Then he locked eyes with Merlin, there is no icy stare thankfully, yet he can still see a hint of wariness in his Lord's gaze.
He bowed his head in acknowledgement before finding a seat next to the gossiping pair Sir Percival and Sir Gwaine.
"I could be at a tavern right now, drinking and charming the barmaid Stella instead I'm stuck here." Gwaine said with a miffed face, his hand gripping the air imagining he was holding a mug of ale.
Elyan who sat across from Gwaine raised an eyebrow, "Isn't Stella old enough to be your grandmother?"
Gwaine smirked whilst shrugging. "Just like wine the older one gets the finer they become, besides she has experience, I'm sure there's a thing or two she could still teach mmph—"
Leon had reached over to clamp Gwaine's mouth shut.
The ginger haired knight had just about enough of hearing Gwaine's tavern tales of debauchery to which he thought was an inappropriate topic to be discussed or heard at the roundtable meeting.
"Sir Gwaine, leave your nightly talks at the tavern only, please."
Gwaine pulled Leon's hand away and smiled cheekily at the older knight.
"Oh, but wouldn't you like to know? Stella has mentioned she likes ginger haired men with beards and I bet she could show you—"
"I am going to strangle you—"
Gwaine leaned back avoiding Leon's hands from trying to keep him quiet again.
"Sir Leon I never knew you were this kinky, I think dear old Stella would like to feel your big strong hands—ack!"
Leon finally got him, unfortunately the meeting was starting, so Gwaine was safe from being throttled by him. However, tomorrow morning during training he'll get his chance.
Mordred along with the rest of the knights chuckled at Sir Gwaine's antics and Sir Leon's annoyed expression.

What fans say:
Beauty and the Beast:
This is the only animated film ever to be nominated for regular best-picture*. It literally is responsible for the creation of the best-animated-feature category. It was Howard Ashman’s last work and his biggest passion project, and I would argue that there’s a strong reading of the film as a metaphor about the stigma and shame of aides and Visual Queerness that Ashman was experiencing at the time. It’s also one of the best works of hand animation that’s ever been committed to film before or since. In the ballroom scene you can watch the dynamic camera angles they move through and the way that all those ruffles on Bell’s dress swirl so perfectly and naturally. That shit is so complicated, most animators wouldn’t even bother, but it was all hand-drawn(!!), cell-by-cell by James Baxter, yet another absolute titan of the industry that had his hands on this film.**
Soundtrack fucks and the animation pussy is poppin
*Mod note: it was the first but two others have been nominated since (Up and Toy Story 3)
**Mod note 2: I'm leaving the videos for next round, but because submitter wrote so much about the scene, I'll leave the link here
The Prince of Egypt:
First of all, don't let the fact that it's a religious film put you off, because there is SO much to love about it. Gorgeous animation? Check. Amazing soundtrack (composed by Hans Zimmer)? Check. Wonderful scene composition? Check. A compelling take on the classic religious story that does much to humanize and expound on the characters in a way that brings them to life? Check. Powerful scenes that will take your breath away and can be appreciated regardless of whether you're religious or not? Check. Dreamworks' passion project at the time with a lot of obvious effort and love poured into it through all stages of the production process? Check. The Prince of Egypt has done so much to rewire the brains of 2-3 generations of children who grew up in religious families, myself included, and damn it all if it doesn't go hard with it. Vote for the Prince of Egypt.
The animation is GORGEOUS! The music is FANTASTIC! It makes you want to CRY!
The first time I watched it, the opening theme was playing ("Deliver Us") and I realized it was the first time I'd ever heard my culture's music in a major film. Also, the animation is simply beautiful.
It's a thoughtful adaptation of one of mankind's oldest stories. The music slaps.
The music? The script? The animation? Everything? How they blended the 2D and the CGI, how they animated the water and fire, the songs, the 3D sequence where Moses becomes a hieroglyphic carving on the wall, the imagery matching the gods invoked in "Playing with the big boys" sequence, the last plague being animated as mist that gets bigger the more lives it takes, how they managed to make the featureless desert SO pretty, the parting of the red sea animation that took 2 years to make (and looks amazing!), how it's a very respectful adaptation of (the first part of) the book of Exodus, how they managed to have ALL the people consulted for its religious importance agreed on at least one thing (Moses saving a random person rather than Miriam), Tzipporah (all of her), how Miriam has her timbrel on her last scene (and it's even Miriam's song playing!), how they researched how blood was slathered on the doorposts (hyssop) and how the script on the tablets for the 10 commandments would look, how it doesn't shy away from the blood and death. That part on the bridge of When you believe where the children start singing in Hebrew (Mi chamocha)? 11/10, no notes, fantastic, amazing, showstopper!
It's the only religious movie I've ever enjoyed. The creators consulted with multiple leaders of different religions to make sure it was as accurate and representative as possible
It's a well knwon classic that tells the story of the Exodus without being fucking boring and has legendary songs. Literally it's the Prince of Egypt. My favorite scene is the one where he parts the sea obv
The perfect storytelling structure, the voice acting, how you can tell what a character is thinking by their facial expressions alone (not everything must be said aloud), how very much HUMAN each character is, the use of color and lighting, the music and incredible lyrics, the style of animation...favorite scene impossible to choose! Yocheved's lullaby when she sets him adrift in a basket? When Moses meets Miriam again as adults, and she sings the lullaby, the same lullaby he always hums, triggering his memories and causing him to remember? The song Through Heaven's Eyes as he fits in with Tzipporah's people and falls in love with her? The PLAGUES?! Btw. This is based on the Exodus story with artistic liberation used to stay true to the message, but you can be of any faith (or lack of faith; I myself am agnostic) to enjoy the movie. In the end, it is simply a compelling ans human story.
That opening, god the song “deliver us” goes so hard it immediately hooked me. The scene of crossing the red sea is universally loved and iconic because of how beautiful it is but the rest of the movie goes so hard too, especially with the wall paintings depicting children being killed like.
I love the scene with the plagues song
Oh my god it's such a gorgeous film and a wonderful retelling oh my god and the music is also amazing
Banger music. Banger animation. Jewish. What can't she do? I feel so strongly about this.
Combined 2D animation with early 3D animation beautifully, and has an amazing soundtrack. Also the Plagues song slaps.

Ramadan Special
NON BINARY READER
First disclaimer, I'm NOT a Muslim, so I use google and a lot of websites to write that headcanon, so I DEEPLY APOLOGIZE for ANY mistakes, please let me know if I did something wrong/incorrect and I'll correct it as fast as I can!
Why do I do an Ramadan special  when I'm not an Muslim? 'Cause it's only fair for my  dear friends from another religion to have the same treatment as my own religion, so cause I did an Christmas special, I'll do an Ramadan special as well.
So as a Christian I wish all my Muslim friends, a happy Ramadan, may all your duas come true this Ramadan!
Ramadan Mubarak! <3
Enjoy it D. and thank you so much for helping me with the intel <3
Oh and dear, if you're reading this, I was just as embarrassed as gromsko, much love  😂
Ghost:
- he knows that for you it is an incredibly important period, so it hurts him even more to leave you alone during this time because of his job
- if he is not in the country due to his job and has the time, he will call you just before iftar to either wish you a good evening or to be there via FaceTime
- if he is at home, he helps you during the day to prepare food for the evening so that you can have a nice time together with friends and family in the evening
- if you are not feeling well, it is not a problem for him to take over your household chores, because he has the highest respect for what you do for your faith and seeing you happy is the most important for him
- during ramadan he also keeps some distance physically so as not to tempt you
- he would even sleep in the guest room if you want it
- it is important for him not to do anything wrong and therefore he learns through you, other muslims and many books what he has to follow and what he is allowed to do and what not, which what  he can help you and so much more
- expect him to sit next to you, almost asleep just to eat suhoor at 3 AM with you
- he doesn’t give a something when you tell him that he can go to sleep early, he stays awake for you no matter what, no matter how tired he is
Soap
- as a Roman Catholic, he is familiar with fasting, however, it was a surprise to him how big the difference are
- he was a bit confused at the beginning, not knowing exactly what he could and could not do.
- when he found out that you were going to fast for a month and therefore abstain from water and food for a month, he was already panic-stricken that you would die because of the dehydration.
- however the fear subsided after you explained it to him and he felt really stupid
- if he is not at home during ramadan because of his job, he will make sure you are near your family/friends or that you can go to his family to break the fast
- he is a really good cook and his dishes are always very good, he doesn't like spicy food but he will cook anything for you, you just have to tell him what you want.
- if you are not feeling well during Ramadan, he will make sure that he can at least make your life more comfortable
- but expect him to avoid you physically like the plague itself
- he loves you too much and has too little self control to keep the relationship between you "normal" so he tries to have as little physical contact as possible, after all he doesn't want you to commit a sin or anything like that
- while you are fasting, he is also fasting while he is at home, he thinks it is unfair that only you are fasting and so he goes along with it
- but if he goes on a mission he apologizes a thousand times for not fasting as well.
Alejandro
- he is quite awkward at the beginning concerning the topic.
- México isn't a country with  many muslims and therefore he simply lacks the knowledge.
- however, it is important to him that you know that he supports you in every aspect of your life.
- accordingly he learns a lot about your religion to not look completely stupid
- but he was really awkward the first time
- he did not know what he is allowed to do and what not
- in his base there was always music playing, when he found out that you were not allowed to listen to music among other things, he made sure that as soon as you entered the base there was no music to be heard anywhere
- when he found out that you were in fact allowed to listen to music, he felt so stupid and you teased him about it endlessly
- he even arranged for you to have your own little room on the base, which looked towards Mecca, where you could pray in peace, if you ever spent a longer time on the base
- he also tried not to drink or eat in front of you, nor to say any swear words in that time
- he would also gladly do the cooking for you if it was too much for you and you needed time to rest or pray.
- he avoided physical touch with you like the plague, cause he knew himself and he wanted everything but to commit a sin
Rudy
- he is a little awkward at the beginning, in México there are not many Muslims he could have learned from, so it is new territory for him to learn more about you, your culture and religion.
- The first time he experienced Ramadan with you, he was confused why you didn't have breakfast with him in the morning as usual
- he then offered you something to drink, which you also declined
- and when you told him that you were not allowed to eat or drink anything for a month, he died inside.
- but he didn't make a face cause he didn't want  to hurt you and just nodded with a smile.
- when he went to work that day, the first person he talked to was Alejandro.
- he talked to his best friend about how unhealthy it was to not eat for a month, but he was way more worried about you not drinking anything
- three days without water was bad, but a month?! How did you survive that before?! He was sure that you must be a super  human to go a month without water.
- he came home that evening at the time you broke your fast, and was shocked to see so much delicious food
- that confused him, he thought you were not allowed to eat and drink anything?
- after you explained it to him he understood and at the same time was so incredibly relieved and ashamed
- he also keeps his distance during Ramadan and the most you might get is a kiss on the cheek if you don't allow him to give you more attention
- but as soon as Ramadan is over he makes up for all the attention he missed during that month.
Price:
- he has traveled a lot in his life, got to know many people and many religions and is accordingly enlightened
- especially because his "adopted daughter" Farah is muslim herself
- he tries to be with you during this time, but his job doesn't allow that most of the time, so he at least tries to call you or write you an sms
- if he can't make it at all, he records a video and sends it to you so that he can be there too
- but if he is at home, he does it for you out of solidarity, because he was once not allowed to eat solid food for two weeks and was so mad at everyone who ate in front of him
- he even gives up smoking, which is incredibly difficult for him, but nothing is too hard for him when it's for you
- he is also an incredibly good cook, so you are not alone in preparing food for your whole family and believe me, even your family loves his food
- the hardest thing for him though was to avoid physical contact, because his mind quickly darts to something else and he knew yours was too, so he kept his distance.... Unless you allowed him that certain something after sunset.
Laswell:
- She has several friends who are Muslims, so it's not new territory
- she has already celebrated iftar with all of them, helped her friends to cook and is really good at it
- when you cooked together for the first time during Ramadan, you always let her taste the food to know if there was anything missing in the spices
- for that you had cooked all the dishes you would cook during Ramadan before it so she knew what they should taste like
- she also tried to avoid eating or drinking in front of you and also stopped smoking in front of you
- for her the worst thing was not to have as much physical contact with you as before, but she knew how fast your mind was elsewhere and she did not want you to break your fast because of her
Valeria
- she did not care much for religion, neither for her own nor for any of the others
- for her religion was only the strongest means to oppress people, because it threatened consequences after death and put pressure on people during their lifetime
- she saw it as the perfect means to control people the way you wanted to
- however, she knew that you were faithful to your religion and that it was important to you, which she did not understand, but she accepted it for you
- she also made sure that you had a quiet place in her villa where you could pray in peace
- the principle of fasting was not really understandable to her but it did not make much difference to her since you usually ate something after sunset anyway
- although she is not a fan of religion, she still tries to be there for you and support you
- what really annoys her is that she has to stay physically at a distance
König
- a few of his old colleagues were Muslims, which is why he partly noticed it, but other religions did not interest him very much
- his religion was more than enough for him, he didn't need to know anything about others, after all his was already too much for him!
- However, this changes when you told him about your religion, explained it to him and why you are fasting and all the other things.
- he listens to you attentively and tries to remember as much of it as possible
- he has the highest respect for you that you manage not to drink or eat anything during the day for a month, he had tried it for five days
- the food had been an easy one, he had had many missions where he had no food for a long time, but drinking had been the problem for him
- he could not do without water during the day
- the worst thing for him was that when he was at home he couldn't have that much physical contact with you anymore
- but after Ramadan he will make up for all the physical contact he missed, so be prepared.
Makarov
- for him religion is only a means to legally oppress people to make them compliant without getting violent
- he likes the principle of religion itself, because in his opinion it makes people stick to something for centuries
- For him, it's the same thing he did to people
- when you told him that you were going to fast, he was confused and didn't really understand
- you had to explain it to him and you could see in his face that he was not the biggest fan of it
- according to him it was just impossible to know if you had time to eat at night, after all you lived with him
- however, when he saw that it hurt you the way he treated your religion, he made sure that you could fully concentrate on your religion during this time
- he tries to support you in his own way, which may not always be correct but he tries his best
Gromsko
- he himself had a few colleagues who were Muslims and with whom he celebrated iftar, but only when you lived with him did he really realize what it actually meant
- he made you a Ramadan calendar like you made him an Advent calendar at Christmas
- he filled it with things he knew you would like, different sweets and a lot of other stuff
- he also helped you with cooking or did all the housework when you were not feeling well
- he also helped you cook and prepare for breaking the fast
- he found out of his own that you were not allowed to listen to music, he made sure that there wasn’t music playing anywhere
- that confused you, cause he was always listing to some Taylor swift song and when you asked him about it he told you confused himself that you weren’t allowed to listen to music, which made you giggle
- you told him that you were allowed to listen to it, but that you had to avoid it a bit, to focus more on praying and your religion
- he was SOO embarrassed that he had misunderstood it
- he helped and supported you wherever he could

i binged mo in like 2 days omg... i feel like a walking zombie rn how am I supposed to go on AAAAAA my heart is pounding LIKE??? it gave me SOO MANY EMOTIONS CRYINGGGGG this is The Atla Fic Ever
but more importantly, I just want to say that this fic is changing my perspective on religion. im athiest, and quite honestly I've never been able to truly understand religion. I'm a strong believer in science, so religion just has never made sense to me. reading mo though, and connecting with a character who believes so deeply in his religion, and seeing how overall, religion is meant to provide guidance to understanding the world and forming morals, I feel like I've grown a lot of respect for religion in general
it's still hard for me, because a lot of my experiences with religion (or I should say, christianity/catholicism specifically- I feel like I should make it clear that I don't judge people for following religion, I just have never seen/understood the appeal) have been with people around me who are religious and therefore very homophobic or anti-abortion etc. I'm not trying to start political discourse ofc, but experiencing that consistently has not really put religion in a positive perspective for me
but reading mo and taking lots of time to think about religion in general, and how I do have friends who are religious and still supportive of lgbtq+ ppl, or who are even queer themselves, I feel like maybe I've grown as a person to become more open minded towards religion. when someone tells me they're christian, honestly I find myself closing up around them. I don't want to make it obvious I'm queer because I feel like they'll judge or disapprove. but I think that's an unfair assumption to make
I think religion, and how it ties into a people's culture and history, is beautiful. I worry that I'll always be wary around christianity, but I'll continue trying to keep an open mind. I understand now that the original beliefs of a religion and the actions of some of its followers are not one in the same, and that the teachings of a religion can call for peace while some followers ignore this. I realize that I should not judge an entire religion simply because there are some practicers who deliberately misinterpret the original teachings
I know the religions in mo are not quite the same as the ones that I am uneasy around. but nonetheless you've helped me see religion and its followers in a new light. and for that, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I am so excited to see how the story continues, thank you for taking the time to write and continue this story for as long as you have, and for helping people like me expand our worldview and become more enriched
Ah, OP, I'm really pleased to hear that it's been a meaningful experience for you. I know a lot of people have complex relationships with religion. In fact, I think anyone who doesn't have some complexity in their relationship with religion is probably a rare specimen.
Powerhouses like Christianity are hugely affected by the amount of institutional power they've enjoyed, and you know what they say about the impact of power. But there are a lot of beautiful ideas there, too. If you're ever looking for a way to encounter more than the political powerhouse of the church, I recommend reading about liberation theology - and specifically (Catholic Priest) Gustavo Gutiérrez's A Theology of Liberation.
That all being said, I don't want to undermine the fact that there's a lot to be wary of in religious tradition, especially around perspectives on gender, sexuality, and such. It is not my perspective that these things are baked into religion specifically. It's that anything that links us to the what-came-before is going to include the problems of what came before, and religion has a lot to do with tradition, so it often falls into that trap.
I just happen to also rate the part of religion which is also about being in relationship with past and future, about continuous revelation, about liberation and obligation, about living life with consciousness and constantly asking what it means to be human and what we owe ourselves, one another, and God.
Anyway, this was barely coherent, but it comes down to: thank you for sharing. :-)

Red Flags in Witchcraft Books/"Information"
Take it with a grain of salt as usual. A read a good amount of them, own some, returned some... I'm not the master of what these books entails, but it's just about taking what resonates with you and your energy craft in general, and leaving out the rest. For beginner witches, there's no end all be all book. A lot of witchcraft books are going to be biased about something on what they believe and what they practice. However, there are SOME things that you do need to know by the book when it comes to topics like proper crystal/stone care, essential oils that are toxic to the animals in your home, what ingredients you should not smoke for health reasons... And even some ends on high magic where you need to do the ritual as read, drawing in the sigil as descripted to pull off something very traditional and ceremonial -- these I don't mess with. If they are of tradition to how some cultures/religions use them, they must be done by how they do it with respect and understanding. Just use practical common sense. .............. These are some of the practical things that made me put down a witchcraft/occult book and return it/throw it away: 1. Authors bragging they are masters of dragons/transmutations/faeries/demons/angels, etc. (So many of them...) While giving out beliefs as if they're absolute facts. Example: "Heaven and dragons are located in the center of the Bermuda Triangle. I know this because I'm a dragon master and they all listen to me because I was a high priestess. There's 14 clans and I'm in all of them. There are pink dragon clans, star dragon clans, warrior clan--" 2. Additionally to the first -- believing they're the ONLY ONES that can help people and they have no one else to turn to, or they are the only one who can truly have this ability. My way or the highway! (Seen a lot of these too) 3. Bringing in radical politics that has nothing to do with witchcraft. It's exceedingly annoying and unprofessional, especially when it has nothing to do with what I'm looking for. 4. -Extreme absolutes. 5. Initiation into a cult, and comparing everyone else outside of them as stupid, or even easy prey to manipulate. Personal experience: A "high priest cultist" once tried to initiate me and gave me his book. I won't say who it is, but he belongs to a cult where they saw themselves as superior beings, and humanity are just livestock to them. (They don't think they're humans) They promote rape/manipulation/child grooming because they believe it was their birthright to rule humanity. 6. More trivial whining, less information about the craft. 7. Claiming being something with how you're born with, makes you automatically better than the others. (Aka: Class A narcissism) Glorifying something that has no advantage of disadvantage, but only because it pertains to the author. These have nothing to do with witchcraft or being a better person. I immediately don't trust anyone who does this. One upping is never a good sign to get information from -- and they give off/bad vibes anyway off the bat. Examples: "Being bisexual makes you more likeable towards faeries than straight/gay people." "Being neurodivergent/normal makes you more psychic than normies/neurodivergent people."
"Being (insert race) makes you more psychic than (insert race)."
8. Replacing medical needs with witchcraft. 9. Treats spirits as if they're servants. ---- I'll add more or edit things when I get the time. I hope this helps.
