How do the girls get along

Pretty great actually!

Jenny and Kim are very good/close friends, since they met relatively early compared to others (they actually met each other first out of everyone, then others at one point and another) and had a shared adventure sometime after the ends of their respective shows (wink wonk).

But, their first meeting was not actually very um, positive. There was some conflict, but after it was resolved both of them gained a very solid friend for life!

Jenny, was glad to meet someone else (beside Brad) who treated her like a person/normal teenager (instead of an 8th wonder of the world or a freaky robot) and not to mention she got a fellow superheroine girl friend! After Misty, she kind of missed having someone like that to kick butt with (considering that like, 70% of her friends are dudes) or just hang out.

Kim was fascinated by Jenny, not because she is a robot (tho she does think its pretty cool) but because it kind of gave her a contrast to her own life in a weird way? Like, Kim was a normal teenager who got into superheroing on accident and just went with it, while Jenny was created with a goal of being Earth's defender but rebeled to have some sort of normal life. And now they both live those weird semi-normal lives, that led them to meeting each other.

Jun is around 5-6 years their junior and while they met each other much later on, when Jun was a little older (like not 11-12 age of the show), she still kind of looked up to them and both Jenny and Kim felt an instant kinship with the girl.

Before she met Jenny and Kim, Jun only knew a couple other guys as fellow heroes/magical protectors (guess who ;D lol), and while she had plenty of female role models (Ama/Jasmine being the most prominent) and friends, she kind of enjoyed meeting some cool older superheroines to bond with! It also helped that despite the age difference, both Jenny and Kim never looked down at her when it came to superheroing/fighting, but respected her abilities and expertise (considering that Jun was practically an apprentice to her Ama since at least 8-9ish of age, when her powers first awakened, she has a lot of experience).

They both are kind of like cool older cousins to her, who travel a lot for their work and come visit to hang out often and tell/share stories about their adventures. Their and her lines of work while similar, also run in completely different circles (human/interplanetary vs magical/supernatural), so its always a treat to hear about the things they do.

(And yes sometimes she feels jealous about the fact that both of them get to travel all over the world, and despite the developments, more often than not she has to stay town locked and limit her excursions to magical realms.)

Silly thing, but Jun absolutely adores Jenny, for one simple fact that she can travel to space just like that (she and Danny, fellow astronaut/space fans, share that, despite the fact that Danny kinda can travel to space just like that too.)

Taking Care of All Might

Warnings: None. There’s nudity but it’s not described. He’s just having a nice bath while you wash his hair, because I’m a sucker for intimacy.

When the door opens, you can already tell it’s been one of those days. Mostly because you watch the news whenever he’s out on patrol, but even if you didn’t, the way he just stands in the doorway, hovering, like he doesn’t deserve to step inside his own home is telling enough.

It could be any number of things holding him there, the top-ranked hero keeps himself to a higher standard than anyone else in the world.

“Come on in, honey. I made your favorite.”

Toshinori sighs, but doesn’t argue, and begins taking off his shoes in the genkan.

“It smells delicious,” he lies, uninterested in food or the smells of it since he had the the total gastrectomy. He tries to put on a cheerful grin anyway, because he’s All Might. You raise an eyebrow, but don’t hold it against him.

To take off his shoes he has to take off his whole suit (Bless David Shield and his design choices) so when your sunflower steps in the kitchen and puts his arms around you, he’s practically naked.

You sigh into his chest, listening for his heart and the slow ebb and flow of one lung.

He seems equally relieved by the physical contact, breath deepening and the tension in his arms going away, if only slightly.

“C’mon, eat. Then bath time.”

Toshi nods, and sits down at your kotatsu. It’s much taller than a normal one, so it doesn’t warm your legs as well, but it’s better for your his long legs. He hums in relief, the warmth probably feeling amazing on his sore muscles.

“So, how was your day today?” He tries, as he looks at the food. He fiddles with his chopsticks restlessly.

“Oh, the usual. I saw this really cute dog, do you want to see her?”

“Of course!” You stand up and move to Toshi’s side, scrolling through your phone with one hand and plucking up some food from his plate with your chopsticks.

“Open for me?”

“I can feed myself,” Toshinori protests.

“Do you want to see the dog?”

Toshinori sighs, but opens his mouth, like a baby bird. He grumbles slightly as he closes his mouth and takes the bite, but brightens considerably when you show him the picture.

“She’s so cute!” He melts at the fluffy little thing, so adorably furry that you can barely even see her eyes in the picture.

You want to say something cheesy like “but not as cute as you!” But you’re trying to make him take care of himself and not starve, so that takes precedence in your mind.

“Open.”

“Again?” Still, Toshi sighs and opens his mouth. Eventually he gives up altogether, laying down his chopsticks and letting you feed him until he’s holding a giant hand up and shaking his head.

“I think that’s all I can handle, dear. But thank you.” He gently guides your hand down.

“Anything for you.” You kiss his knuckle, and he still blushes like a schoolgirl. He wipes his mouth when you release him, coughing slightly. Thankfully there’s no blood this time.

“Bath time?” You suggest.

He nods, agreeing, and follows you to the bathroom where he takes off what clothes remain, his underwear and his pair of socks. You have to get the water going, so he sits on the toilet to wait, grasshopper legs bent out awkwardly. For now, you settle on the floor in front of him while you wait for the water to get warm, and you begin massaging his feet.

Toshinori moans lightly and hangs his head back, knowing better than to try and protest by now.

The knots are like steel, and you know you won’t be able to get them out in a single sitting. Not unless you had a few hours, and you know his hyperactive self won’t be able to sit still for that long. Even when he’s supposed to be sleeping, he’s up and down all night…

“I think the water’s warm,” Toshinori points out lightly.

You release him and he gets in, using the handlebar you insisted you needed for yourself. He narrowed his eyes at you, but eventually relented. It’s nice having someone who’s so skilled as a handyman around — a bit surprising, too. Who would think the greatest hero of all time would be so good at such a thing?

Of course, his skill with a hammer and some nails aren’t the only thing that attract you to him, as you carefully pour warm water over his downy-soft hair.

He practically melts into the sensation, groaning. It makes something flutter in your chest, watching those blue eyes disappear under the shadow of his brow to let just the tips of his blond lashes reach out into the yellow bathroom light. The hardness of his face softens, gritted teeth relaxing as the aches and pains seep out of him. His pale skin flushes into a more healthy color from the steam, and makes him look far more vibrant than he had when he stepped in your door. Poor thing.

You lather your hands with shampoo, and just as carefully wash his hair, careful to not get any soap in his eyes. It’s amazing he doesn’t have to wear glasses after all of those years of sun exposure and working relentless hours as a hero. Just goes to show it’s all just genetics.

“Thank you,” All Might murmurs when you’re done rinsing out his hair.

“You’re welcome. Yell if you need anything, yeah?” You’re planning to leave him to soak, but long, skinny fingers grab your wrist, lightning-fast.

“Wait! Can you… Uhm, can you sit here with me?” Toshinori turns shy, looking away and not making eye contact. You chuckle and push his wet bangs back, kissing his forehead.

“Sure thing, just let me go grab my book.”

He sighs in relief, especially when you come back, a pillow and a book under your arm. Your free hand finds his, ignoring the dampness, and he rests his face against your arm.

He won’t say “I love you.” He’s too scared after a life of losing people. But you think you can feel it, in moments like this.

Kaito trying really really hard to put his protectiveness aside giving miu some growing room by distracting himself with dating and hanging out with people he barely is able to tolerate due to his experience in the other world, wince dating and making friends is what normal highschoolers do.

Miu developing very /very/ messy feelings regarding Kaito seemingly having no more time for her, while at the same time pushing him away when he does since that's just how their dynamic has always been as siblings and she wants him to feel like everything is fine with her, get really mad at girls he brings to the house, her even worse ability to relate to other people her age. . Also gender stuff unrelated to the main plot.

Takuma and Ryo being the only still decently well adjusted ones.

Shuuji developing a bad rebellious streak due to his father treating lopmon like a stray animal at the best of times.

Saki having anxiety since, now that she's improving in her physical self she has to prepare for rhe future.

Aoi being a mess with the fact their group is starting to drift apart due to their own issues and worrying she won't have anyone that really /gets/ her if they do stop talking together.

The concept of Kaito trying too hard to be a "normal" kid as a distraction from Miu even though he's clearly bad at it and doesn't like doing it is honestly really interesting. It's almost funny in a fish out of water way, but also really sad thinking about him being stuck with nothing but fake friends after having spent time with real friends.

Pretty much everything you said about Miu is like,,,exactly how I imagined she'd act post game? Like yeah Kaito being clingy annoyed her, but that doesn't mean she wants him to never be with her. Not having friends her age AND having this new distance between her and someone she's used to having around a lot would be really isolating and tough. I actually talked a little about this one before. Lowkey love that pretty much everyone seems to agree that this kid has gender stuff going on.

I actually imagine Ryo would have a similar problem to Aoi. He went to camp to make friends because people at his school already didn't like him, so drifting apart from the friends he DID make would be hard for him since they're all he has. Well, other than Kunemon.

Takuma probably would be the most relatively well-adjusted person here but he is still a kid trying to pretend life is normal after having to save the world so ladfkjakj idk maybe as former team leader he'd be a little adverse to taking responsibility for things for a while. Y'know like having trouble finding ordinary things in his life important compared to saving the universe. I think I accidentally just described ant man quantumania never mind ignore me.

Shuuji WOULD have a rebellious phase. He didn't go through an entire self-acceptance arc to watch the other half of his soul be mistreated ToT It'd probably be a bit awkward tbh tho like sunk cost fallacy is real and I don't think he'd want to throw away everything he's worked for academically when he's this close? Local rebellious bad boy still top of his class? But then again what better way would there be to spite his dad than failing aldkfa idk

I actually. Really really love that idea for Saki. Her being someone who didn't plan about the future before because she didn't know if she'd even have one now realizing that Life is Happening and she doesn't know what she's doing. Obviously she's still young but tbh can confirm that at any age it's extremely stressful when everyone seems to know what they want and where they're going but you.

What is a squad mom without her squad ToT It probably would be jarring for Aoi going back to school with classmates that just take advantage of her after having friends who truly appreciated her. Being unable to feel the same way about her old "friends" anymore.

Honestly I think they would all be afraid of drifting apart. In a lot of ways, most of them are each other's first true friends who care about them and not just for the masks they wear or the help they can give. None of them WANT to move on from each other, they just don't have the time, and most of them don't go to school together. ...Digimon Tri Joe moment. Joement.

Not to be extreme but dear God hold onto hope.

Things will be better one day. People will sing and dance in colorful clothes under dazzling lights again. A parent will rock their child to sleep on a quiet night again. A grandparent will teach their grandchild to cook a family recipe again. People will laugh and cry and love and grieve in the most mundane of ways once more. This will happen no matter what you believe, but hoping and believing in such things will ease your heart and kindle your resolve to see it within your lifetime. Have hope, and you will give life to the world you hope to see.

Baby boy brother birthday photos from last year that I just realized I never uploaded!

#cats #also hopefully it's not weird to still post photos of George (the brown cat) even after his death a little while ago. I just have so many #beautiful old pictures of him that I still love but just never had the time to sort through or upload (my cat photos folder on my #computer had like 450 pictures in it or something lol... SO many). I feel like it's kind of just honoring or appreciating him #and not actually strange or anything. like what am I supposed to do. delete them?? I want to share them still because he is beautiful and #perfect ! idk. aNYWAY. Also this is their 2022 birthday when they turned 14 years old. (even though I think when I posted #their 2021 bday I might have said they were 14 then too. I was off by a year lol). 2023 when they turned 15 I unfortunately #was feeling kind of sick at the time and didn't really have the energy to do the decorations like I usually do. So they just got a few #treats and stuff. But I didn't know that would be george's last birthday lol. :/#They also do not really know or care though. they're cats who cannot process it or know the concept of birthdays so. eh #I still have no idea how these got lost on the computer though. Like I had them fully edited ready to post but just sitting in a folder??#Since MARCH 2022 lol... ??? the folder was in another folder of pictures so maybe that's how I overlooked it #But it's my 'once every 4 months computer organizing and clean out time' so I was going tghrough looking for pictures #I could drafts posts out of or sort or etc.#They got lots more treats for this birthday because one of my friends actually game me a few gifts for them #elderly boys.!!!!#I used to write in the little caption/image description sections to talk about them all individually but at some point tumblr broke that #feature and for so long they never saved or weren't visible so I stopped doing them and just ramble a bunch in the tags instead #but I kind of miss them. Idk if I'll get motivated enough to finish this but here's somewhat of an outline synopsis thing for another KP So the Drama rewrite but this time inverted :>

• Both mutter over how sappy the school is getting cuz of the prom. Kim's dropping hints and Ron's just jealous no one is paying attention to him (open your eyes dude!!)

• When Bonnie tries to bully her about going with Ron, Kim tells her it's better to go to prom with someone who actually cares than an on-off partner

• Kim's casually shopping with Ron when she notices a new ad for cuddle buddies. She gets excited (since there's no picture) but tries to hide it. Ron tells her it's ok to like the things she Iikes. She can't wait for them to come out!

• Wade calls about Killigan who's trying to get the Centurion project again. Kim and Ron go to him and manage to stop him, but someone (Eric?) swoops in, winks at them, and disappears after stealing it. Killigan is mad at them. "And ye call yerselves heroes?!" Wade tries to dig where it went and who took it, but to no avail.

• Kim's really trying to hint about going to prom with Ron, maybe not even hinting and blatantly talking about going, but he doesn't think much of it. Or seems like he doesn't at least. Not like they haven't gone before, even to date-like places like the wedding. "It might be a bit awk-weird but why wouldn't we go? We've gone to dances together before." (He's in denial, too scared to think of actually going with her. Thinks he shouldn't have hope of anything more. Also change is scary.)

• When Kim stops him to properly ask him about going (the mood is perfect for confessing at a quiet corner or smth) but then Piper appears and trips, dropping her stuff around. She has some nerdy stuff that grabs Ron's attention, and the three continue walking and two of them continue talking. Kim's immediately annoyed.

• They talk about her later. Ron's smug about Kim's jealousy over "his friend Piper", enjoying the attention

• Later Kim and Ron run into Piper at Bueno Nacho as well, and the two get into it again. Kim's very suspicious due to her jealousy, so she starts asking her questions, acting innocent. Her mom is a teacher, her dad has a radio show (but she never listens to it cuz he's embarrassing), she loves video games and comics and does some freelance coding/design to get money?

• Ron's impressed and Kim's even more annoyed. She later asks Wade to do a bg check on her, insisting she's not jealous. Wade doesn't believe her cuz of that, but agrees to do it anyway. Drakken asked Big Daddy for info on fake identity making people and they made her a small profile. She's from Europe? British?? (Piper cuz of Billie Piper lol, maybe Billie's her second name? Or even first but she goes by Piper?)

• Nothing suspicious at first glance so Wade just tells Kim she's overreacting again. She still keeps her eyes open and goes along with their nerdy plans for a while, trying to keep up and not lose him

• Some time later Piper meets them at school and obviously starts flirting with him. Again, he's enjoying the attention, but trying to explain to Kim that they're just friends. Piper counterfires and confesses then and there.

• Ron looks between the girls (who are glaring at each other) and runs away, yelling that he'll think about it. Cue epic monologue with Rufus.

• He's been over the unwritten rules, and he says that Piper seems like someone he could actually be himself with - down to earth, nerdy and chill. He did try to act cooler than he was at first (a habit with girls, it's gotten better but still), but she told him he's fine just as he is. Maybe he should go for it so he could get back to normal with Kim? He says that he does have feelings for her but it's just made things more awkward lately. He's doing this to get over Kim and back into the safety of the friend zone. Change is scary and he doesn't want to take the first step.

• And so Ron and Piper start dating. It's barely different from how they were (casual gaming and chilling and eating) but now there's more physical contact. Piper's all over him and it's making Kim sad instead of angry.

• To make things worse for her, the new Cuddle Buddies were revealed (she forgot due to Ron stuff), and 1. They're super ugly and 2. Merch of them will be sold at Club Banana. Kim dashes over to see necklaces, bracelets and rings with designs of these ugly creatures, and the store is getting filled with tweens, hipsters who love ugly stuff, and enthusiastic collectors who want every Cuddle Buddy thing ever. She's pushed out of the store. "This feels familiar", or smth.

• She's sulking with Monique at BN. Ron and Piper are there too, and the girls are giving them the side eye. They don't notice.

• Kim wonders if she should have taken the first step after all. Monique tells her she could have, but Ron taking it would've meant he's more ready for it. She reminds him of the moodulator stuff, which embarrasses and frustrates Kim. She wouldn't be as over the top when she's herself! Kim says that she's scared too. She's already been rejected once, after all, and everything's been a bit more awkward since then. There's tension. There's clearly something there.

• Then Kim starts ranting about the plushies and the merch and Monique's just as mad. She has to deal with the barrage of annoying customers every day after all.

• Meanwhile Piper's either feeding Ron or doing some stupid food stunts with him. Surprisingly, he's not that into it after a while. "Kim would try to stop me", but he immediately shakes the thought off and gets more into it and closer to her. He was supposed to get over her. Rufus is doing his thing and enjoying their new pal, but looks at Kim a bit sadly.

• At school Kim's giving space to Ron and his apparent new gf, so she hangs more with Monique. They do get called on a weird mission together as usual. Shego's been spotted at a local supermarket trying to grab every teen magazine there is. They stop her, but Drakken drops in and they escape. They work fine as usual, but Kim's a bit more snappy and distant? Ron's trying not to gravitate towards her, since he misses her a lot. He ends up teasing her and boasting?

• Another similar occurrence to the BN one happens when Ron and Piper are gaming and he laughs to himself about how Kim sucks at video games. He has to reprimand himself again. He's feeling guilty about missing their usual chill night. Meanwhile Kim's just at home, studying, reading or watching tv or smth. Lonely "Ron-night"?

• Later at school Wade calls Kim and tells her not to call Ron yet. He thinks Piper is sus after all. Kim tries to wave it off and let the two have fun, blaming everything on her jealousy, but Wade insists. He could not find her parents anywhere, no records on them. No radio show. Her record is miniscule as well. He hasn't dealt with fake identities that much but can recognise one. She's sus.

• Kim's conflicted. Happy that maybe things can still be fixed, sad that things have gotten this far. Should they look into it? Should they tell Ron? She asks Wade what they should do. He will do more digging for now.

• Prom night is approaching, and Kim's stressing out. She's sad she's gonna end up going dateless, sure, but she wonders how she should tell Ron something's off with his date without it sounding too jealous. She confronts him before he leaves in his dumb blue suit.

• He's a bit taken aback, yeah, and smugly comments that she seems jelly, but Wade beeps in, confirming Kim's suspicions. "Ok, cool. Now what?" They start throwing around ideas to figure out who or what she is and what's going on.

• Wade also brings up the Centurion project. It hasn't resurfaced since they first lost it, and Piper didn't seem to wear anything like it. When they think about what Drakken's doing, Kim points out the magazine stuff. Ron notes that he has no idea where she lives. Wade says that he's been tracking her (Ron raises an eyebrow at Kim at that), and that she disappears at the mall every day. They decide to follow her the next day. Kim's wondering why Ron's so fine with it all.

• They try to act normal at school, Ron's still dealing with Piper to the best of his acting ability, and after school they say their byes (she gives Ron a kiss on the cheek) and act like they're leaving only to hide and follow Piper. She goes to the mall, straight into Club Banana. Kim follows her in, but loses her in the crowd.

• "What if she just loves to shop or works there?' "She doesn't come out unless you ask her to or she has to go to school." "Oh."

• Wade says that while they were following her, he's been digging into CB stuff, and found out that Shego has somehow become the CEO/president or whatever. He finds a clip of the obviously mind controlled previous boss who's signing some papers in front of a snickering Shego. They get ready to meet the new boss. Kim gets out her yet to be tested battle suit.

• They're wondering about the evil plan, but that clears up as they drive past several children and some adults wearing Centurion-like battle armor. They're still unsure about what Piper's role is in this. Wade tells them that there must be some sort of a command signal since the armored people don't seem to be able to control themselves.

• They head over to the CB HQ, and are met with Shego, Drakken, some new goons and people wearing the armor. Kim recognizes one of the goons as the one who winked at them before. "Oh, you like this one? 901, get the girl!"

• Epic fight stuffs, Ron accidentally makes the armored people shoot the new goons, revealing that they're syntho-drones. Ew.

• Kim's asking for the usual villain monologue, and Drakken starts going. They just wanted to ruin everything she cares about, but she was too jealous and nosy and ruined everything too soon. He points at Eric, saying that they had one prepared for her, too. Both Kim and Ron are disgusted. Ron: "Piper's a syntho-drone??! Ew!!!" Kim: "I knew there was something off about her from the beginning!" Shego: "Just admit that you were jealous and how lucky it was that you ended up being right." Ron kinda looks at Kim hopefully, but she just shrugs somewhat casually, adrenaline covering her nerves. Not like Shego needs to know.

• More fighting, even Piper appears, and she and Eric start throwing punches at Kim and Ron. They manage to stop them, causing them to fall in top of each other. They look at each other in surprise, get up, move to hold hands, and leave. "That's why I was worried about the AI with these things, D." "Oh shut up." While that's going on Wade tells Ron to dig through Kim's backpack and he fishes out a USB killer, tosses it to Kim, and they run into what seems like the main office. She jams the stick in and the whole system goes down, which seemed to work on the armored people as well, based on Drakken's cursing. "I knew we should have gone with 901 instead!"

• Shego and Drakken are soon arrested, and Kim and Ron drive back quietly, until Kim asks why he wasn't devastated by Piper's "backstabbing". She would have been if she was in his shoes. "I did have fun with her, don't get me wrong, but... (leans forehead on her back?) it all made me constantly think of you instead. Heh, would have been real scummy of me if she wasn't a syntho thing." Kim's baffled, and when Ron doesn't elaborate, she determinedly drives back home. She tells him to go get ready for prom.

• They get there, awkwardly hold hands and are pushed onto the dance floor, and they continue their chat. "I was super jealous btw." "I noticed. Actually made me kinda happy, sorry." "Pffft. I'm sorry too. I was too scared to take the first step." "So was I, I never actually really took it." "Well, close enough." They do a silly dance move like a spin and/or a dip, and look at each other, giggling. Kim then gets more serious. "What would you have done if she was real?" Ron: "I could ask you the same, you were so green eyed they almost started to change colors." She just rolls her obviously natural green eyes affectionately as Ron places a hand on her cheek, leans in and they finally kiss.

FIRST DRAFT DONE. for realsies this time!

Also I graphed the word count by chapter because I'm a nerd like that

#20 515 words total - not too shabby #some chapters are certainly weaker than others #I kinda lost my grip on reality near the end there #but I also wrote the chapters out of order so it'll be interesting to see how the strong/weak ones distribute #I'm low key terrified to read it all at once #but that's something to deal with tomorrow #today I'm just going to be happy about finishing the entire first draft #two weeks ago I decided to pretty much double the chapter count on a whim #and while the first 6 chapters took me a month to write #I wrote these last 6 (I had to completely rewrite one of the original 6) in two weeks #I'm proud of that #the chances of me actually posting this in time for caffrey-burke day are really high! and that's very exciting #girlblogging #girlwriting #wc.ct

Putting Darcy in a Batman-like role in Powers and Prejudice just made sense from the beginning. It gives him a more grounded, serious outlook as opposed to Bingley's optimistic exuberance. It gives Lizzie a chance to misinterpret him--because he's non-powered, and often fights superpowered criminals, she assumes that he's prejudiced against her family, and believes Wickham's claims that Darcy supports measures to oppress superhumans. But I've struggled with the fact that this messes with Darcy's canon character arc. We've still got Lizzie's arc of learning she's misjudged him, but there's not a corresponding arc of Darcy learning to let go of his pride, because he's not in the same position of superiority. He's one of the only non-powered people in this story, so he doesn't have a reason to hold himself above others, because objectively they hold a lot more power than he does. He can't really be prejudiced against superhumans, because he works with Bingley, and because we still have to have Lizzie's arc of learning she was wrong about him. And we can't have Caroline joining him in looking down on Lizzie and family for their superpowers when her own brother (and possibly her whole family) is superpowered.

But I think I can lean on the fact that he's a well-established hero with a lot of experience, who's taken on the mantle of a vigilante who means a lot to Pemberley. He's proud of his legacy and responsibility, and is inclined to distrust young would-be superheroes as reckless glory-seekers, especially since he's just experienced a huge betrayal by Wickham. He may not hate superhumans, but he has to be very careful about who he trusts, because if he's wrong about someone, his lack of powers makes him vulnerable. He trusts Bingley and his sisters because he's worked with them a lot. But Jane and Lizzie and their unrestrained sisters and their mother who openly wants them to gain fame? They need to do a lot to prove themselves worthy of Darcy's trust, and they're doing an awful lot to make him distrust them.

Yet Lizzie manages to impress him. Her powers aren't as threatening as the other girls', because they're just an escalation of things that normal people can do, and her use of them isn't, like, liable to break his bones or anything. At first, he dismisses her as just a normal civilian who gets in the way, but she proves herself an asset in a fight, and as someone powerless who's undergone extensive training to be able to hold his own against supervillains, Darcy's impressed. He's freaked that she's able to track down their base of operations and uncover his secret identity so quickly, but he also recognizes the amount of skill that takes and understands she would be useful in Pemberley. And there's the small matter that he finds her skills and her fine eyes very attractive.

Caroline is proud of her family's superheroic legacy (her family's not among the elite of the superhuman community, but she did attend Mansfield), and thinks these upstart kids should get out of the way and leave the hero work to the professionals. She can usually count on Darcy to hold the same view, but when she tries to put down Elizabeth Bennet, she finds that he's weirdly reluctant to criticize her.

So when it comes to the character arc, we have Darcy proud of his position, and doing everything he can to keep Bingley away from the Bennets, while falling in love with Lizzie. Still accurate to canon. And when he offers Lizzie a position on his Pemberley team, she's aghast that he thinks she'd join him after the terrible things she's done to Wickham and Jane and the horrible things he's said about her family. So Darcy can learn that his caution has really been paranoia and was more driven by pride and prejudice than he cared to admit, while Lizzie can learn that Darcy did have good reasons behind everything he did and that she's judged him too harshly. I think it tracks. It fits everyone's role in this universe and hasn't broken canon. I'm glad, because it would have been murder to reshape this universe after everything has been built around having Darcy in this role.
