I'm having Star Wars thoughts tonight

I haven't heard much, if anything, about this ship before today. But I saw a fanart today of Luke Skywalker and Lando Calrissian. And I just, like... I love that.

Lando catches Luke at the end of The Empire Strikes Back, and gets him in safe. Luke hasn't met Lando yet, and in his pain-addled haze, he's being held by the most handsome angel he's ever met. And then once he's better healed, he meets Lando properly, and gets all flustered. Lando thinks it's pretty adorable, but there isn't time to pursue anything right then. He has to go with Chewbacca to figure out how to save Han.

But then there's time between Episode 5 and Episode 6. Luke is training, and Lando is searching. But they have to communicate about Han and the plan to save him. And yet... along the way... As they have these correspondences, they chat a little bit, learn more about each other... They sort of fall into like with each other. And then as they go through saving the galaxy together, they fall in love. It's gentle, and sweet, and Lando is supportive as Luke starts up another Jedi temple. Luke makes sure Lando is safe when he goes out doing space piracy things.

Han teases Lando about falling for the wrong twin at first. They think it's so funny that they're basically brothers in law.

In canon, it's kind of a sad ending. The disaster with Ben happens, and Luke is so ashamed, and he runs away. He can't bear to face Leia and Han, and not the man who loves and trusts him. And then Luke returns from afar to aid the resistance... and is gone before Lando can see him again. They only meet again after Leia is gone and the First Order is destroyed.

Rey is on some mission, working with some of those shadier characters. Lando shows up to provide some guidance, and then so does Luke, blue and shadowy. They stare at each other for a long time, and Lando is just heartbroken that he can't seem to touch Luke. But seeing him and getting to speak with him is good enough. He doesn't need an explanation anymore, he's heard it from Rey, which leaves plenty of time for stories and sweet whispers until Luke has to fade back for a while.

I imagine there's some kind of larger afterlife where they can find each other again. Luke teaches him how to reappear as a Force Ghost, and they have fun watching the new trio get up to shenanigans. Like their Dads.

"Lando, what's wrong?" I asked, noting the subtle shift in his demeanor ever since I posted that photo of myself. His response came curtly, tinged with an uncharacteristic edge, "Nothing, Y/N, just drop it." Yet, the tension in his voice spoke volumes.

Sensing there was more beneath the surface, I pressed gently, "Are you jealous?" The question hung in the air. Lando's denial was swift, but not entirely convincing, "No, I'm not jealous. It's just... you're mine, and I hate it when people comment weird stuff like 'mommy' or anything as if you belong to anyone else."

His words carried a possessiveness that I hadn't encountered before, mingled with a hint of vulnerability. As he spoke, I could sense the insecurity lurking beneath his usually confident exterior.

Moved by his admission, I stepped closer, enveloping him in a comforting embrace. Our embrace spoke volumes, conveying a silent understanding that transcended words. And in that shared embrace, we found a moment of respite from the complexities of our feelings, a sanctuary where our connection remained steadfast and unwavering.

boat naps

August 9, 2021

Grey fixed her white bikini as she got back onto the boat having been swimming around for awhile.

A lot of friends and teammates were all at the lake house for one more lake weekend before going back to school or hockey.

Grey grabbed her towel ringing out her hair and drying of her face, yawning feeling tired from being in the sun and water all day.

Luke who had been getting back on the boat could tell she was as tired he walked up behind her wrapping his arms around her waist pressing a kiss to her cheek, not caring about the PDA as everyone else is in the water and it’s only them on the boat. Grey relaxed in Luke’s arm.

“Do you want to lay down Lizzie?” Luke soflty questioned gently tracing shapes on her bare stomach.

“Please.” Grey whispered being extremely exhausted.

Luke layed down on the boat seat that was long enough for him to full lay down, he opened his arms and Grey quickly fell into them.

Grey shuffled around and buried her head into his neck, Luke gently put his hands into her hair feeling her fully relax against him and let out a soft sigh.

Luke slowly drifted asleep holding his girlfriend in his arms.

The rest of the boys had got out of the water along time after Luke and Grey disappeared, Jack got on the boat first shaking his head seeing the two fast asleep cuddled together, Jack is not even surprised as Grey and Luke can fall asleep anywhere they always have.

“Ah! That’s where the love birds went.” Trevor cheekily smirked having seeing the two be in love for years and have been teasing them nonstop since he found out they finally got together.

Cole rolled his eyes at Trevor plopping down on the boat bench.

Ty laughed at Quinn smacking the back of Trevor’s head stopping him for teasing Grey and Luke anymore.

Quinn sat in the captain’s seat and started the drive back to the lake house.

The boys all grabbed the stuff as they boat parked at the dock and started jumping off.

Quinn was the last was one on the boat seeing Grey and Luke still fast asleep, he bent down running a hand through Luke’s crazy curls making Luke slowly wake up, “Moosey, we’re back home if you wanna go inside.” Quinn saw Luke slowly nodded and Quinn stood back up and headed back up to the lake house.

Luke rubbed his face waking up slowly, he slowly began to rub the back of Grey’s bare thigh slowly waking her up, “You wanna go inside?” Grey sleepily nodded, Luke shifted her in his arms at sat up so her legs were on either side of him and her arms wrapped around his neck, he stood up and Grey legs tightened around him but continued sleeping as Luke started carrying her into the lake house to continue their nap.

headcanon post idea: everyone’s reactions when you tell them you’re proud of them (ex. after a tough mission or bc they’ve been having a hard time mentally/emotionally)

Although she’s used to the spotlight from being royalty and a revered leader in the rebellion, Leia isn’t very used to genuine praise. She’s usually the one praising someone else (or yelling at them, more likely) and the most she’s gotten in the last few years is a quick “good work” when she delivered the plans for the first Death Star before the Battle of Yavin. So when you first make her look you in the eye and genuinely tell her that you’re proud of her, she freezes for a minute. The last time she really heard that from someone who meant it was her parents, so it hits her a bit harder than she expected and she doesn’t completely know what to do with the feeling. She’s so used to being the rock for everyone else – and keeping her inner thoughts a secret was part of her job and how she stayed safe for a long time – that she takes a while to show any sort of big emotion in front of people, and even then will only do so in private. She gives you a small smile, nod, and quiet thanks before redirecting the attention to you, how much you helped, and says how she’s proud of you. But she will concede to an “I’m proud of us” before giving your shoulder an affectionate squeeze.

Luke also hasn’t heard a genuine “I’m proud of you” in a long time (not that the OT gang isn’t proud of him, they just typically don’t say it in words), but he tends to be a bit more emotionally available than his sister on a more regular basis. He can’t keep the emotion off his face and for a second, you’re afraid you said the wrong thing as his big, blue eyes start getting glassy. It means the galaxy to him, especially from someone who knows everything that happened with Owen, Beru, his father, and the emperor, not to mention all the weight on his shoulders in regard to rebuilding the Jedi Order from scratch. He collects himself soon after, but still gives you a warm smile and “thank you” before wrapping you in a tight hug. He tells you he’s proud of you as well and there isn’t anyone else he’d rather have on his team, holding the hug for a bit longer than you expected (but you, of course, would never be the first to let go).

Han pretends to be affection-averse, even though he isn’t – but, hey, he’s got a reputation to maintain. He splutters for a minute before recovering and saying something along the lines of, “Yeah, I am aware how awesome I am, kid, and I’m glad you’ve finally realized it, too. Ya know, I’m gonna remind you that you acknowledged my greatness next time you get on me for somethin’ – in fact, here,” he holds his comm right in front of your mouth and hits record, “why don’t you say that again so I have some proof?” You bat the comm away and tell him how insufferable he is before you both go back to what you were doing before. But, when he thinks you’re not looking, you can see the dopiest smile across his face.

Lando takes it the most in stride. He looks surprised for a minute, before smiling, thanking you, and putting a hand on your shoulder and giving it an affection squeeze and light shake. “You’re not so bad yourself,” he says before remarking on how you two make a great team, even going so far as to list specifics of exactly why you work so well together. He wraps his arm around your shoulders as the two of you walk back to base, a new spring in his step that you can’t deny is adorable.

Chewie (platonic) immediately says something in Shyriiwook that you think (hope?) sounds happy before enveloping you in a bear hug that almost crushes your ribs. You hang on for dear life, half laughing and half struggling to breathe, patting the Wookiee’s back before begging him to put you down before he accidentally crushes you. He mumbles something that almost sounds like the cadence of an apology in his language before setting you down and affectionately petting your head.

R2D2 (platonic) chirps, whistles, and wobbles on his two outer legs happily and is then adorably glued to your side the rest of the day. Han and Lando tease you about how you’ve found yourself your own personal servant, but Leia and Luke think it’s adorable, and even Luke comments on how much R2 loves you when he’s out of earshot. C3PO translates at some point, telling you how much R2 appreciates the compliment and that he enjoys working with you before the astromech is zipping away again to refill your water bottle for the third time.

C3PO (platonic) gives you a surprised “oh, my” before thanking you profusely. He even gives you a little bow and says, “You’re too kind. I enjoy our work together as well and you do a marvelous job at everything you set your mind to.” You give him a smile and a thanks before turning back to what you were previously doing, laughing quietly to you overhear him walking down the hall going, “Oh, Master Luke, you won’t believe what just happened!”

“You’re cheating and using the force to read my mind!” Lando said laughing.

“You forget that Chewie told me about your exploits together and that was well before he met me or Leia so yeah I can do basic math Lando no need for the Force.” Luke said grinning. Lando noticed a bit of a blush in Luke’s tanned face and his heart leapt.

Lando and I walked hand in hand up to my childhood home, Lando had just finished the F1 2023 season so we thought it would be a good time to go see my family considering my brothers Jack, Luke, and Quinn were all home which is a rare occasion that all 4 of us would be home at the same time since Jack, Luke, and Quinn were all in the NHL and I was a social media person for the F1 team Mclaren

we all sat outside near the fire like old times Lando and I on one couch, Jack and Quinn on the other and Luke sitting on the floor because he wasn't fast enough. I couldn't help but shiver as the cold wind hit my body "Here, let me hold you. You look cold," Lando said softly, wrapping his arm around me and pulling me close.

I couldn't help but blush feeling warm and safe in Lando's arms. Luke glanced over at us and gave Lando and me both a look "Don't worry about Y/N. She's tough as nails. She grew up playing hockey with us," Luke Spoke with a smirk. Quinn chimed in, "Yeah, she's practically immune to the cold."

I rolled my eyes at their antics, but couldn't help but feel grateful for their presence. They were always there to lighten the mood, no matter the situation. Lando took it all in stride, laughing along with them as he wrapped his arm around my waist protectively. "Well, I still think she could use a little extra warmth," he said, shooting me a playful wink.

I blushed at his words, feeling a rush of affection for him. Despite being thousands of miles away from home, he always managed to make me feel safe and loved.
