redacted headcanons if they were filipino 🇵🇭
please bear w me and my scattered thoughts😭 also credits to @pandoraroid for the vincent hc it's so real
- when the shaw pack gets together they do the family gathering thing of making the kids have a dance competition for money
- angel doesn't know how to commute (public transportation) and david would have to come along with them on a jeep to help them learn
"davey ikaw pumara para sakin please nahihiya ako" "kaya mo yan, dali lalagpas na tayo oh"
("davey can you make the jeep stop please i'm too shy" "you can do it, cmon we're gonna miss our stop")
- at a jollibee birthday party david would always help the shaw kids win the "bring me game" . that shit is SERIOUS for him i would bet
- milo would overdress all the time  . kahit anong ganap he will be layering IN SPITE of the heat. he'd also be called "estetik" and he HATES IT  .
(estetik: from aesthetic, used to make fun of people who dress up)
*(kahit anong ganap: whatever event there is)
- also, milo and sweetheart ukay-ukay dates perhaps. . . . but i think they'd both get carried away because they'd be blessed by the ukay gods and forget they were ever on a date
(ukay-ukay: secondhand shops in the ph!! mainly clothes)
vincent and lovely  . aircon humor x kanal humor CMAWWNN. the vampire houses alone r so extra and fancy vincent would for sure have the conyo/filipino rich ppl accent too like.
(vin telling lovely abt his first summit): vin: "ok so inisip ko like, paano ako gaganti kay william during the summit, right? so i decided i was going to show up looking like as the, pinaka-antithesis of what he wants me to look like."
lovely, absorbing nothing of what he just said: "HUY antithesis???????"
(vin: "ok so i thought, how am i gonna get back at william during the summit, right?; ...looking like the (most)antithesis of what he wants me to look like.")
(aircon humor: humor associated with wealthy people, priv school kids, "out of touch" humor
kanal humor: "public school humor" , vulgar and relatable
conyo: someone who speaks filo+english in a pretentious way, mostly due to being raised wealthy . idk they always have that rich ppl accent)
- i can't imagine guy being filipino no matter what i do. however, i think honey is for sure filo (projecting) and they wld have a complete filo friend group  . honey wld still have that gruff exterior but their walls r down, and their friends would joke that honey and guy r the "nonchalant x oa" pairing and guy wld have NO clue what they're all talkin abt.
(oa: over acting, usually used negatively to call someone dramatic, but with the "nonchalant x oa" it's kinda similar to the introvert x extrovert trope)
- when honey brings guy along to hang out w/ their filo friends, he just looks at them mesmerized 90% of the time they're all talking . afterwards, when they ask abt it, guy says that honey is way more expressive when they speak in filipino and he thinks its rlly cute (IDK. I FEEL THIS ONE IN MY BONES .)
- i also have a hc that honey likes to draw so . stem strand/course to art course pipeline baby (many filipinos can relate🔥🔥🔥)
general idea / kinda just a joke but honestly it'd be so hard to allude to being a vamp in the philippines .
"pag natamaan yung balat ko ng araw, nasusunog ako" "beh nasa pinas ka, lahat tayo nasusunog"
("when the sunlight hits my skin, i start to burn" "beh you're in the philippines, we're all burning")

Your Odysseus has an odd habit of disappearing for days only to show up suddenly as if he never left in the first place. Why? You're not sure. This place is fairly isolated, you don't know where he could be going. Yet you didn't have it in yourself to ask him to stop. It seems as if it brings him some comfort.
Occasionally he brings back things for you. Usually they're valuable items, mainly some sort of jewelry that you've tried to return to their owners. Though some seemed to have no owners. Those would also fit you a little too nicely. Yet Odysseus never said anything about it, seemingly uncaring about what you do about the gifts he brings back for you.
Yet for all his aloof and seemingly distant nature, he sems to know instinctively what you need and when you need something. Though perhaps that's just a common trait? You've seen people with Space Marines mention how their Space Marines all seem to have a sixth sense when it comes to them. Maybe your Custodes is the same?
If only there were others like you. Some days you felt jealous of all those people bonded with Space Marines and Chaos Marines. For all the different varieties among them, they were still all Space Marines and Chaos Marines. Even the rarer ones, at least there were plenty of other people in similar enough situations that they can find out what's normal and what isn't.
You? You haven't found a single person with a Custodes. Is it because Custodes are truly that rare or because the few people with a Custodes simply aren't prone to posting about it on the internet?
Odysseus rumbles softly to you, getting your attention. He bends slightly to enter your home. Him being taller than normal Space Marines meant that he would bump into things others wouldn't.
Watching as he crouches down with a hot water bag wrapped with a soft towel. Oh! You take it gratefully and hold it to your abdomen. Your cramps were mild and easy to ignore but of course he would notice without you saying a single word.

Hi! This is probably going to sound very rambly but I'm really confused and my thoughts are all over the place
The Ricardian xenophobia and anti-Welsh prejudice against Henry VII's ascension is so sickening to see, but it's also ... extremely baffling? In my opinion, there's no other reason it could have originated other than Ricardian double standards.
Because..the Yorkists *also* had Welsh heritage. Edward IV emphasized his Welsh lineage as much Henry VII did and much earlier (highlighting his descent from Llewellyn, utilizing the prophecies of Cadwaladr and the struggle between the Red and White Dragon, etc). The first Welshman to be ennobled since Owain Glyndwr’s fight for freedom (William Herbert) was during his reign, and the fact that very few Welshmen bothered to obtain letters of denizenship during that time (literally *one* person from 1467—1483, and while one is obviously still too many, it's a significant drop from his predecessors and should absolutely be noted in a positive way) is a clear indication that he did not make much use of the Penal Code. Which is a good thing, obviously! Yet for some reason, this is conveniently ignored, even though we know for a fact that David Powel believed that Henry VIII’s Welsh heritage was from his mother Elizabeth of York rather than his father.
The Yorkists *also* had Irish heritage through Elizabeth de Burgh, Countess of Ulster & wife of Lionel of Antwerp, which is also conveniently ignored for ... reasons.
And the comparison between Elizabeth of York’s “English Plantagenet blood” versus Henry VII’s “Tudor blood” which I have seen from some Ricardians is so bizarre to me. Apart from her Welsh and Irish connections through her father as discussed above, Elizabeth of York’s grandmother was from Luxemburg. Her grandfather began his career as a simple English knight. The Woodvilles, as usual, are simultaneously vilified and entirely disregarded when talking about the supposed "end of the Plantagenets.
So like...I'm a little confused WHY people assume that Henry VII's ascension heralded this massive change in terms of nationality or bloodline? Like you mentioned, he was also directly descended from Edward III. His grandmother was the Queen of England, his uncle was the King of England and his mother was one of the wealthiest English heiresses of her time. And Owen Tudor was given letters of English denizenship after his marriage to Catherine of Valois, which would have passed to his sons and grandson.
Of course, when talking about the Plantagenets/Yorkists, I mainly focused on Edward IV and his children, which probably why it's barely taken into account. When people fantasize about the so-called “purity” of the Plantagenets and Yorkists, they’re mostly (99.9% of the time, tbh) talking about Richard III, the emblem of "Englishness" (🤮) in the Victorian era and other eras (although he's certainly not the only one - Henry V, Henry IV to an extent, Edward III, Richard Lionheart and Henry II are all viewed in a very similar way), and mindlessly swallowing Richard’s own propaganda again Henry VII.
(While this isn't completely related, I wouldn't feel comfortable sending this ask without it so I hope it's okay and it doesn't get too long. To be honest: the Tudors are ALSO seen as symbols of English nationalism by an overwhelming majority. They are probably the most famous and well-known English dynasty; a vast number of English history books literally start with the year 1485; the red-and-white Tudor rose is one of the most memorable symbols of the English monarchy; and a vast number of people view that era as the "golden age" of England; Henry VIII and Elizabeth I Tudor are probably the most well known English monarchs of all time. So I certainly don't feel comfortable believing that there's a one-sided negative view against them because that's objectively not true; they're seen in a very positive manner by the vast majority of people. Which is why the contrary claims are so confusing to me - they're so vehement, but they also make no sense whatsoever, and they're completely opposite from the positive and glorified view that - overwhelmingly imo, at least internationally - opposes them)
Sorry if any of this isn't framed properly, English isn't my first language. I can send an ask to clarify anything it it's too confusing to understand 😅
Hi! Sorry for taking so long to reply! I must admit that I lost you there in the end (sorry) but I think I got the gist of your ask. There are a couple of views regarding the 'Welshness' of the Tudors. Some people disregard it entirely because of the things you said by the end of your ask: Henry VIII's break with Rome and Elizabeth I's triumph against the Spanish invasion/armada have been regarded as hallmarks of the making of British (and by British, read: English) culture, as much as Henry V's fight against the French, for example. Of course, Henry VIII and Elizabeth I were not (culturally at least) Welsh, so I would find it equally weird to claim that 'Welsh' was the defining Tudor trait.
As Dr Adam Chapman highlighted in this podcast episode, there was no such thing as 'Wales' as a well-defined country. Welsh identity was cultural, political and based on language. What made Henry VII Welsh was not some x-times removed ancestor, but the fact that he spent his formative years 'in the most Welsh place imaginable' (William Herbert's household), that he most likely spoke Welsh, famously enjoyed Welsh culture (Welsh mead, Welsh music, openly promoted the cults and celebrations of Welsh saints such as Saint David & Saint Armel), promoted Welsh servants, and the fact that he was embraced as Welsh by the Welsh themselves.
But mostly, I think many people do not know that the Tudors were originally Welsh at all! Mostly, people who bemoan that aspect — even if, technically, only one Tudor monarch was Welsh — are the ones who like to romanticise Richard as the last true bastion of Englishness such as Philippa Gregory, Rosemary Jarman, John Ahsdown-Hill, Sandra Worth etc. It is ironic, as you said, because the Yorkists also had Welsh heritage, and when push comes to shove you'll find plenty of ricardians saying Richard was 'more Welsh' than Henry VII because of some ancestor x-times removed, even though Henry had a Welsh grandparent, was born in Wales, was raised in Wales, and grew up in a Welsh-speaking household where Welsh cultural traditions were held. Apparently, being Welsh is terrible unless it's time to say Henry VII was fake Welsh or was less Welsh than the Yorkists.
Tumblr media
(never mind that Henry VII was also descended from Llewellyn the Great)
Tumblr media
(also stupid because Henry VII never claim to be descended from King Arthur)
It doesn't matter if they don't consider Henry VII to have been very Welsh (or Welsh at all) because suddenly being Welsh is too cool for such an uncool guy like Henry Tudor. The Welsh people of his time viewed him as Welsh. He had all the right conditions to compete for the prophetic mab darogan title as explained here, and that's something considering a part of the Welsh people had been willing to accept even the Yorkists for the title at the time they were against the Lancastrian crown. Edward IV explored that advantage on some occasions, especially when it came to legitimising his rule via prophetic discourse.
However, as stated by Gruffydd Aled Williams, if Edward IV 'did not excite overmuch enthusiasm among the Welsh bards' (in the number of poems produced), it seems like Richard did not even come close to that. It's not that we find very few poems praising Edward's brother (I wonder if there are actually any), it's that the Welsh poets were especially harsh on Richard — he was compared to King Herod (who ordered the killing of the first-born sons), and called unchristian names such as 'saracen'. He was also called ableist names such as 'little Richard', 'deformed Richard', 'little raider', 'small Richard', 'feeble-bodied', 'little ape' and so on. From 1483 onwards, the bards who once had their loyalties divided between Jasper Tudor and Edward IV/William Herbert, unanimously united in Henry Tudor's favour.
Again, cultural identity mattered a lot, which seems to be conveniently forgotten when they decide that it's actually cool to be Welsh. Most of the time they don't seem to see it as good quality, though. The aspect of cultural identity matters when they like to explore the idea that the Tudors were not culturally English, so they didn't know and respect English traditions. It's not uncommon to see the claim that Chilvary died with Richard at Bosworth — Sandra Worth's “at Bosworth Field died the Age of Chivalry” — as if Henry VII didn't extensively engage with chilvaric performance (x, x) and discourse (x).
In my opinion, the real problem with this kind of discourse and re-imagination of the past is, of course, the very real anti-immigrant and English nationalist sentiment that has gained so much currency in Brexit-era England. Henry VII & his family are dead, they can't be offended by any of that — the immigrants who are associated with diseases according to that kind of rhetoric, for example, are not.

Okay I so appreciate that you have nuanced opinions on both William and Kate and Meghan and Harry. But I have to say I think Kate is fully aware about her uncle and what he says. I don't think his interviews or columns were necessarily sanctioned by Carole or Kate but I do not think he was told not to either. I think his opinion appeals to a population of monarchist and old Brits that the Middletons and Kate want to have behind them. I do not think the Gary and Samantha situations are similar because I believe if Gary was really told "no" he would stop. It seems like it's the Middletons MO to be a DM columnist at some point in their royal adjacency. It can be argued about how much autonomy Kate has over things that are said, and I think you've mentioned before that Kate may be more innocent than many think. I would argue that she is very aware of the profile that has been created for her and could have done much more to help her clearly vulnerable sister in law. They did not need to be best friends but it certainly seems that she allowed the powers that be build her up while being very cognizant of the real outcomes of what that could look like for Meghan.
Oh, I think Kate is aware and knows what her uncle says, don't get it twisted. I don't think she wants Gary to stop and he just won't. I just believe that Uncle Gary overstates his closeness to her for his own financial gain. I'm not sure if he's estranged from her, but the nature he writes about her is as if he was her second father which I highly, highly doubt. The fawning obsession he has for her is just . . . not a normal attitude to have towards your niece and I think he's exaggerating a lot of it. That article he wrote would be creepy if a husband or SO wrote it, let alone an uncle:
How Kate manages to spin all those plates simultaneously, with the eyes of the world on her, is almost superhuman.
I think it helps that she has never sought the limelight. She doesn't seek attention, that's not Kate; in fact, she's almost the reverse.
Wikipedia ought to have a picture of her under its entry for the words 'kind' and 'thoughtful'.
That's who she is; it is in her DNA and her bones.
I think the Middletons don't care to silence Gary because he's not saying anything that threatens them, quite the opposite. I have to admit, I do think it's stupid to believe that they're sending him out to push their narratives when they have their own comms team and media connections that are far more effective. That doesn't mean that they don't agree with him or believe he's saying good things, I just feel that he's doing it for himself mainly. He keeps talking about how it's the Middleton family lifestyle that changed William for the better and highlighted the contrasts between him and Harry: the Middletons might think they gain from this type of portrayal, but it's just bizarre and sycophantic. No real professional PR campaign is behind Gary's antics.
I think for Gary it's a total ego trip/masturbation session where he gets to fawn over Kate and credit his/Carole's "Middleton Unbring" as the future of the royal family despite all his firsthand stories of Kate being +20 years old. It gives Thomas Markle vibes where they played an active role in the upbringing and now think they're owed credit for making this person "everything she is."
It feels it's the Middleton family template that William will be using to raise his own family. We should celebrate the Middletons and the impact they have.
William certainly has: he's always ensured that, unlike other Royal in-laws, the Middletons are a non-negotiable inclusion
One thing I can't stress enough (something interesting) is how this narrative puts the Middletons in direct conflict with Charles and Camilla. It wasn't long ago that Charles felt the Middletons had too much influence over William's family life, and felt that they were prioritizing Carole over him. This again makes it crazy that the Middletons are so short-sighted and egotistical that they can't tell that Gary is more trouble than what he's worth.

A Character Analysis of Bob and Mike
And (mainly) what it means for Mike and Will
The parallels between Bob and Mike are made quite obvious for casual viewers in the show. They're both head of the AV Club, interested in science and puzzles, etc. But, I wanted to look a little further into their similarities because I believe we can understand Mike and his relationship with Will a little more.
The Crazy Parallel
There's a popular motif in Stranger Things revolving around the word crazy. Specifically, it's definition. For multiple reasons, the word crazy symbolises in love.
In s2.ep2, as the kids are trick-or-treating and Bob and Joyce are dancing together, Bob proposes that he and Joyce move away to Maine together. Joyce is initially wary of this, and Bob dismisses it as a crazy, drunken idea. Joyce states that "It's so hard to explain", and "This is not a normal family".
Later, in the same episode, Mike and Will have their 'crazy together' conversation. The scene starts with Will trying to explain the 'feeling' to him. Mike doesn't understand initially, but quickly catches on as Will describes it as being like a 'View Master caught between two slides'. Throughout the conversation, Mike tries to finish Will's sentences, showing him how desperate he is to understand Will's explanation.
Mike asks him if it's "Like the doctors say, all in your head?" Will replies saying he doesn't know. Proceeding to instruct Mike not to tell the others, because they wouldn't understand.
Mike then says "Eleven would".
This all builds up to the famous:
"I don't know, sometimes I feel like I'm going crazy,"
"Me, too"
"If we both go crazy, we'll go crazy together, right?"
"Yeah, crazy together."
This conversation parallels three romantic couples from the show; Bob and Joyce, Hopper and Joyce, and Jonathan and Nancy.
Firstly, as I stated earlier, Bob and Joyce also discuss being 'crazy'. Joyce says that Bob won't understand, that it's not a normal family. However, in s2.ep5, after Will is admitted to hospital, Bob finally understands. This is similar to how, in Mike and Will's conversation, Mike doesn't understand what Will is trying to say at first, but figures it out eventually. Bob says he's crazy, but Joyce can't reciprocate it.
Next, it has multiple parallels to Hopper and Joyce.
In season 1, Hopper, amongst practically everyone else, believes everything Joyce is saying about Will is just all in her head. Later in the season, they talk about living a normal life, and feeling safe. Hopper and Joyce, in season 3, talk about going crazy. However, there are multiple times throughout the show where miscommunication (not understanding one another) leads to them fighting.
Finally, Nancy and Jonathan, the couple they parallel the most. Nancy was initially with Steve, who she could fit into the 'societal norms' with, before she got with who she truly loved; Jonathan.
Flo told Nancy that "Only love makes you that crazy, and that damn stupid."
And, in season 3, when they're fighting, they say:
"I guess we just don't understand each other anymore".
Here, we see the Three Rules for Love in Stranger Things:
You must defy the norms if you want to find who you truly love
Communication and understanding are key aspects to a healthy relationship
You are crazy together
The only pairing in the show that demonstrates all of these requirements is Mike and Will.
Let's check how they fit into these rules:
In the 80s, a gay relationship was not considered normal. Mike is convinced by pretty much everyone that he romantically likes El (Lucas, Dustin, Nancy).
Mike and Will clearly understand each other throughout the show. They have trust and faith in each other (Obvious in season 1: Will telling Mike he rolled a seven, Mike believing that Will can hide from the Demogorgon).
"Yeah, crazy together."
Let's check how M!leven fits into these rules:
Mike's clothing reflects his parents in s3, representing him following the normal. His Mom, Karen, falls for someone named William, straying from her socially acceptable relationship.
There is a major lack of communication between El and Mike. In season 1, it takes them a long time before Mike actually wants her to stay with them. In season 2, Hopper is the main cause of their miscommunication, however El still spies on him and doesn't communicate with him properly when she can. In season 3 it is most obvious. Their conversations are filled with missing pieces and unresolved complications, El spies on him, etc. El doesn't even understand when Mike is trying to tell her he 'loves' her, even after she overheard him saying it in Hopper's cabin. At the end of season 3, Mike doesn't understand what she's talking about when she says he loves her. The lack of understanding and communication is an extreme focal point of their relationship.
They are not crazy for each other. When Mike tries to tell El he's crazy (in love), she doesn't understand. When Mike tries to tell Will he's crazy (in love) he understands completely. He also is wrong when he says "Eleven would (understand)", because she doesn't understand when he tells her he's crazy (another point of not understanding).
They don't. As simple as that. Lots of relationships reflect Mike and Will's, but none compare to it.
The IT Parallel
When Will is having dreams of the Mind Flayer, Bob believes he can help him. He reminisces of when he was a child, and had nightmares about a clown.
This is a noticeable parallel to IT, where Finn Wolfhard (Mike) plays Richie, who is tormented by Pennywise (a clown). At one point in the film, Pennywise is chasing Richie, telling him he "knows his dirty little secret" (his attraction to his best friend, Eddie Kaspbrack).
Bob advises Will to, rather than run from his nightmares, tell them to go away. He tries doing this, but fails and is caught by the Mind Flayer.
If Bob is symbolising Mike, he is telling Will to suppress his feelings (tell them to go away), like he (Mike) did, but Will fails. Mike manages to direct his feelings for Will onto El, but Will can't run from them.
The only thing that needs to be resolved between Mike and Will is their disagreement in season 3. However, I will mention a few things about the fight:
Their fight is not cut off (like M!leven 'love' confession scenes).
There is nothing major left unsaid (aside from an apology).
It is not a lack of communication and understanding, but a lack of resolution (which is common amongst healthy ST couples).
This needs to be resolved, though, in order for them to return to a healthy relationship. It is likely this will be the conflict early on in season 4, and once it is resolved their romantic relationship will be more unavoidable (in a positive light, though. Not unavoidable with 'no option of divorce').
Mike and Will check-off the Three Rules for Love:
Not normal
Understanding
Crazy Together

✒️ please!!
Send me a ✒️ and I'll pick a poem I think you'd like
After flipping through my notebooks I decided to go with my first instinct for you, which was "A Toast to the Alchemists" by Laura Gilpin. This poem hasn't been published online officially, so they're aren't a ton of sites that have it that I could find with a quick Google search. However I've attatched photos of a reddit post with it along with my version in my journal.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I picked this poem because of its themes of time and the passage of time, as well as magic and giving emotional significance to the most mundane and clinical of things (atoms and elements). In other words, taking magic from the world around us, especially through a lens usually seen as lacking wonder or whimsy. Also vibes, I mainly did it based on vibes.
Some other poems I considered in my search/additional recommendations are listed under the cut:
If you liked the writing of this poem, and haven't read it already (or have) I definitely recommend "The Two-Headed Calf" by Laura Gilpin. It's by the same author and is her most famous poem and is fairly well known and also soooooo good. So good.
Poems with similar themes:
Poems with similar themes to "A Toast to the Alchemists" are
"Dusting" by Marilyn Nelson 💘 (literally cried to this. To be fair it was 10 minutes after I finished the HDM finale so it was mainly because of that but still. Great poem.)
"The Sciences Sing a Lullabye" by Albert Goldbarth
"Ozymandias" by Percy Bysshe Shelley (90% sure you've read this one its the time theme but inverted and it's great if you haven't)
Rejected picks/Poems that gave me Anu vibes (many for no particular reason):
Poems by Ted Kooser for some reason??? NO idea why they're very different from the ones above but some of my faves are "Selecting a Reader", "In a Country Cemetery in Iowa", "The Constellation Orion" and "Flying by Night" (I'm v much questioning this pick now but I'll keep it up here just in case)
Honestly a bunch of random unrelated stuff was popping out at me ("Listen" by Miller Williams, "Cartoon Physics, Part 1" by Nick Flynn, "Snow" by David Berman) and like a million billion more which I all got from the same anthology (Poetry 180, edited by Billy Collins) so if you want to read a bunch more poetry, based on vibes alone, I'd say look for the book, the website, or the sequel. The poems from that book aren't too similar to the one above but it's really one of two books I generally recommend people right off the bat (it was my lit teachers favorite lol) because it's meant to get young adults and teens into poetry and introduce contemporary poetry in general. Idk how much poetry you've read whatever but even if you aren't new to it it's still a good compilation of late 90s/early 00s poetry that makes you think but isn't super long/totally incomprehensible
Anyways that got WAY longer than I anticipated or anyone probably wanted but poetry is an obsession of mine and recommending poetry is much more complicated and harder that it looks, even for the people you know best in the whole world AFTER interviewing their opinions on poetry, not to mention how difficult it would be for internet friends on tumblr. But anyways there's a couple poems, I got the vibes as close as I could with the poems I had on file. (Although i do feel like I'm missing something big 🤔) Anyways thanks for the ask Anu! Hope you thought my pick was alright!
#and please for the love of god dont feel pressured to read ANYTHING on here i spend hours and hours reading poems so when i rattle off names#like that its very much me bouncing along like a frog eating skittles hopping from poem to poem to poem#based on vague vibes and feelings#also also also i already knew this when i made this ask game BUT. recommending poetry is like trying to juggle with your eyes closed because#you just KNOW you just KNOW there is a group of perfect fall in love poems out there but theres a million factors you have to take into#account to find them. like theres theme theres rhyme theres rhythm theres style theres readability/directness#and you have to try and predict someones opinions on all of that while also trying to gauge their level of patience on topics like#age of poem clarity use of standard language and spelling experimental features and line breaks#when a use of any of those they dont like can turn them off a poem entirely#like we were asoue fans together so youd probably like something with ambiguity and could tolerate a more classical look#BUT then comes in the length factor and also a bit clarity plus we have to remember theme and i cant think of any poems that fit that idea#with a theme you would like that i would feel comfortable recommending (because some poems are good but also difficult)#and i LOVE difficult poems theyre my besties but i always hate them during the first 3 reads at least and who has time for that if you dont#have poetry brain disease like i do#anyways. thats a very long way of saying. i tricked you into asking me to ramble abt poetry mwahahahahahahaha#also if anyone out there feels like theyre someone who rambles a lot about their interests to others and can at times feel a little guilty#abt that the poem “To The Sea” by Anis Mojgani talks a bit about that from an outsider pov#blah#poetry tag#answered#jacobsnicket

Some Michael headcannons:
Bisexual trans man
Acts tough and looks intimidating but is a huge sweetheart (could be trauma related)
The head technician and one of the managers (he is also on the pa system)
In charge of maintenance
Henry hired him based on skill, not because he's William's son
Really fucking remorseful over his siblings' deaths even though they weren't really his fault
Chewing gum habit is really bad
Is Kasey, Brianna and Eddie's biological dad along with Aiden
Kinda hates Christmas because of trauma but also because of the workload
Will just find lost kids running around and bring them to Henry to help find the parents
Sunny is his service dog and is a good girl
Aiden and Henry bought her for him
His favorite animatronic is whoever didn't try to kill him and Foxy (so the Glamrocks, Helpy and Foxy)
(Maybe The Puppet, trash and the gang and mediocre melodies too)
Is actually really fucking scared of baby because holy shit did she manipulate him
Has scars on his arm from a springlock accident (during sister location)
(It was the suit from night 4)
Will just throw up during panic attacks
Is the reason the company has a therapist
Boy does he trauma dump
He will just spend 4 hours explaining everything that happened in gruesome detail
The ghost kids like talking to him because he understands how fucking painful it is to die and not be able to get help
He will just fall asleep in his office and scare the shit out of everyone else, especially new hires, because it looks like he just fucking died
Let's curious kids ask him questions about the company or himself
Doesn't mind kids staring or talking about him
Knows French because of his mom and Spanish because of Aiden
Also knows Russian and Korean
He can dance really well
Usually eats alone
Moved to New York after sister location
His limbs (mostly his hands) will just fall off
Comes up with holiday themed costumes for the animatronics and staff
Programed a speaker system into the animatronics that sounds like the animatronics are actually singing
(It's basically him playing a song through the program, the animatronics scan the lyrics, separate them based on color coded lyrics and then sing when they're ready)
He's smart but he's also dumb as shit
Mans will put salt in his coffee AND make a whole ass program for shows from scratch
Plays piano and drums on a separate stage next to the animatronics
Has dyed his hair to differentiate himself from his dad
Probably has facial dysmorphia because he looks identical to William and is probably terrified of being just like him
Like he'll look in a mirror for a few seconds, see his father's face instead and just freak out
Since Frostbear's voice box is probably frozen, Michael either, hooked up a speaker to a microphone that he uses to perform through Frostbear or dresses up as him to perform
(He has stage fright so he probably wouldn't be performing without something covering his face, that's probably why he's kinda thankful for the pandemic)
Like he has a reason to cover his face that isn't facial dysmorphia or his fear of being like his father because of how eerily similar they look
Has some kind of hearing aid/ear bud type thing because of an accident (probably from all of the screaming animatronics because holy shit they're loud)
It's mainly for you know, hearing, but there's a certain mode on it that allows it to be used as an ear bud while still being a hearing aid
Smokes semi-regularly
Came up with the idea of having a separate stage away from the animatronics for the human performers
Is probably one of the only ones who are skeptical of the fact that THEY SEND KILLER ANIMATRONICS AND THE MAN WHO LITERALLY KILLED THEIR KIDS TO PEOPLE'S HOUSES
"I just keep hitting shit and it fixes itself."
Bought Eddie's teddy bear (amply named Teddy) for him and is usually the one fixing him up
Actually wanted to be like William when he was little, now he's utterly petrified of even the thought of being like him
Will just carry helpy around one of the locations in a backpack
He didn't apply to a set location, he just gets sent wherever maintenance is needed
Is Nessa's supervisor during the night shift
I don't think he's gotten much sleep, in general not just recently
He and Mangle will just vibe in the back room when he's not needed
He and Henry were pulled out of the fnaf 6 fire
His skin went back to normal and he got his organs and bones back thanks to God or some shit (in other words, nobody fucking knows, least of all Michael himself)
I feel like he would have repressed emotional issues
The ghost kids are actually really sorry for mistaking him for his father and almost killing him
He forgives them
Is Henry's nephew with Summer (my Mrs. Afton) being Henry's sister
Exclusively calls William "motherfucker"
I know the phantom animatronics were hallucinations that were probably caused by the failing vent system, but him having (or being misdiagnosed with) Schizophrenia could also explain it
Has thrown soda cans at the animatronics
Built the glamrocks with the purpose of helping kids safely escape (and for holding cake and piñatas but that's kind of a secondary priority)
His right arm once got caught in a really heavy, metal automatic door under the pizzaplex and had to get it amputated
Gets cold very easily because he used to be a fucking corpse
Literally can't sleep between 12 and 6 am
Might be underweight because I don't think he really ate when he was a skinsuit or after the fact
After a near death experience, he always hears, "you won't die, but you'll wish you could."
I think William didn't really give him a lot of attention when he was a child so now he will work himself to the bone just to get even the tiniest bit of approval
Henry knows this and makes a conscious effort to give him approval whenever he can
He and Summer were involved in a car wreck close to Christmas time
He literally cannot stomach the franchise's pizza, he will throw up if he eats it
It's because it's all he would eat for dinner as a kid
William was basically like, "just eat at the Pizzeria." everytime he asked for food and now he can't eat it without throwing up
Dumping syndrome (foods digests too quickly meaning food moves too quickly from your stomach to your duodenum/small intestine)
Usually takes public transit to work because he fears that he'll get in a car crash like the one that killed his mom
Most of his mannerisms are trauma responses or something he picked up from his parents ( + maybe Henry)

Who the baby daddy? Descendants; Carlos Edition.
Tumblr media
Suspects #1 and #2: Jasper and Horace Badun. Mainly Jasper. They are the main suspects because they are Cruella's henchmen and are around her alot. Don't have much evidence other than that. They'd be on the isle.
Suspect #3: William Clayton. He's an animal hater, so he and Cruella have that in common and they're both crazy. So the idea of them hooking up at least once isn't too crazy. So he's a possible hit and it makes sense that he wouldn't claim Carlos because he's a bit of a dick. He also doesn't seen to care about Clay Clayton, his son, that much in the books-- though I guess that's because we don't see him all that much, if at all. He'd be on the isle as well.
Suspect #4: Jean Pierre le Pelt. He's a furrier and, he and Cruella have similar interests and personalities. He's definitely a strong candidate and he looks a little similar to Carlos. I.e the eyes and hair. He'd be on the isle as well.
Suspect #5: Isaac Heller. He's one of the former magical authors in ouat. He had a thing with Ouat's version of Cruella de Vil and who's to say that he didn't with the descendants version as well? He's mainly a suspect because he was a love interest for Cruella so they could have had a kid. He's a villain too, so he'd be on the isle.
Suspect #6: Prince James Nolan. David's twin brother in ouat. He had a thing with ouat Cruella in the underworld and he's a villain, so it's possible that they did the nasty and had a kid. Plus he doesn't seem the fatherly type, which would explain why he's not around if he is the father. He'd also be on the isle .
Suspect #7: Mr de Vil. Cruella de Vil's husband. Not much is known about him just that he's a furrier and is spineless in the book. He's married to her, so Carlos could be his kid, though it might not be very likely.
Suspect #8: Syndrome. He's a villain and would be on the isle. He's great with tech and socially awkward, and had freckles. He also had a small and skinny stature as a kid so it's not completely unbelievable that he could pass these traits onto his presumed son.
Suspect #9: Dr Doofenshmirtz. He's a mad scientist with a skinny stature and a sad complicated childhood. He'd be on the isle if he existed in the same universe and although his inventions never turned out how he wanted, they were great. Plus he's not a bad guy, he just does bad things and he's been married before. So is it really thay far of a stretch to assume that he's a possible candidate?
Suspect #10 and # 11: Stanford Pines and Old man McGucket. Both are genius old men and inventors who are good at building things put of practically nothing in some cases. Olf man McGucket is thin and has a similar stature to Carlos. Both have done questionable things in the name of science that could be considered villainous and both have been bullied, mocked, or overlooked. And both were meekish. Like Carlos. So it's a small possibility. They're also good at research and value their families even if they are a bit selfish at time, and are willing to lend a helping hand. Like Carlos.
Suspect 12: Doctor Undergear. He's a stereotypical Disney mad scientist with white hair who could be Carlos' father for obvious reasons. Plus if I remember quickly, he was a villain, so he'd be on the isle and he was old. So.. possible.
Suspect 13: the big bad wolf. He's a villain, most likely on the isle, and has a similar stature and body type to Carlos. He has brown eyes like Carlos and it's implied in the descendants verse somewhere that Carlos can speak dog. So maybe Cruella and he had a Fling, and Carlos was the result? Who's to say?
Suspect #14: Professor Farzboom. A villain, mad scientist, love interest that met Cruella de Vil on a dating website. Again, brown eyes, similar staure, and a genius. He's definitely like Carlos and had a thing with Cruella, he could be the baby daddy.
Suspect # 15: William Smee. He has brown eyes, white hair, and is the sidekick of a villain and we know for a fact he's on the isle. He's old and could have had a thing with Cruella. If this is true, this would mean that Sammy Smee and the smee twins would be his half-brothers. He's kind and compassionate, and seen as weak like Carlos too.
Suspect #16: King Candy. Short, thin, brown eyes, whitish hair. Tech guy. Literally reprogrammed a game so he could be the star. He was a villain and would be on the isle if he exists in the same universe. Maybe he passes it on , along with the candy thing, to his possible son -- Carlos de Vil.
Suspect #17: Lewis Robinson. Thin, shortish but grows taller. Similar facial shape to Carlos and has freckles. He's an inventor and some of his inventions have gone wrong despite being brilliant. Maybe when he grew up something went wrong with one of his inventions again and he got sent to the isle for it? Don't know why he'd hook up with Cruella but hey, desperate times call ror descendants measures.
Suspect #18: Hiro Hamanda. Similar smile and body type. Brown eyes. Similar facial shape. Young genius Inventor turned superhero. Maybe his attempted murder thing got him sent to the isle and he hooked up with Cruella while drunk (as an adult of course) and Carlos was the result? Also, loves sweets and he's easily excitable and blunt. Both are gamers and nervous yet daring at times.
Suspect #19: Varian. A kind compassionate kid with a knack for trouble who enjoys sweets and loves animals. He's an alchemist and an inventor at 15, and he has a pet racoon. He committed treason against Rapunzel while grieving his father who was stuck in stone but eventually, he sees that he's in the wrong and owns up to his mistakes-- saving and working with the others once again. What if when he was older and the isle was beimg made, he was shipped off for his past crime and met Cruella? Carlos is biracial so it'd make sense not to mention they both have similar statures and facial features, and similar hair styles. Both are animal loving invenors who are taken for granted by those around them and mocked, bullied, and seen as weak. It's a strong possibility.
20. we have Milo Thatch. He's a nerdy thin genius with brown eyes wh's a social outcast at first. He's got a good head on his shoulders and his friends/coworkers take him for granted at times. He also fell in love with a magical person, so... it's a fine possibility despite the fact that he probably wouldn't be on the isle.
21. Bruno because he reminds me alot of Carlos. And again because Carlos is biracial. Plus he gets along with animals without the whole animal gift and his name was originally gonna be oscar.... sooooo...
Author's note;
The characters who were minors in their films would be grown up in this by the time Carlos was conceived.

Jack afton isnt m e a n t to be a similar lookalike to dsaf jack, right?
i mean they're both very o r a n g e
Oh god no, he wasn't actually meant to look like that Jack tbh. I honestly just wanted to give William a brother that was older, that was pretty much the intention back when he was being made. I didn't purposely make him orange just to make him look like the DSAF one, because back then I often drew William as purple like Vincent ( rather coincidental, I know, but I deadass forgot DSAF was an actual thing until a month later that I realized. )
I promise you this one's actually alive and not dead by springlocks, and no it wasn't actually meant to be a reference for dsaf either. They're both separate characters and not meant to look like the other, which explains some differences in personality and how socially awkward he'll appear to be. ( I also just have some bad memories of dsaf too, so I try not to associate with it either. Would be great not to bring up DSAF again, thanks. )
He's been orange since he was like 15 basically ( Mainly cause he tries to burn a possessed bear and the bear got back at him for it ) so like, way longer than DSAF Jack as well. Plus this one doesn't have much of an intention on sticking around either with the jobs, William offered the position while Jack's visiting over at his house so that's why he's working there to begin with ( might as well make some cash while he's there, even if the pay is still not much )
I'll probably redesign him to avoid the confusion, but I'll see.
just to clear up ^

Other than two or just one being up to help the company, I believe so. I could also ask the ones I know, though..I don’t exactly wish for them to risk theirselves nor feel forced to help, more when they already went through bad things.
-C spoke bluntly about that, but he didn’t specify too much about it. He could ask the people he took under his care and adopted but..that wouldn’t be something a good father would do, Right? Besides, they all already went through so many things, it wouldn’t be fair for them to suffer more because of him and the company. Michael’s actions were..quite confusing in a way, Was C supposed to do the same things or just do the things he is used to do now? C wasn’t too sure, but he knows that he shouldn’t ask things related to his family and those photos. Mayhaps, they are similar in a way? C absentmindedly crossed his arms, taking a moment to think as he listened to Michael. Eventually, his right eye went back to blue, as C seemed to be calm.-
It would honestly be nice to watch that kind of show to have a better idea, if that’s possible. As for hobbies, I’m not..exactly sure. I tend to sing, but mainly help people and both Sir and the company in general. Other than that, I’m not sure if putting people under my care and even adopting some can count as a hobby or not. What about you? ..I also must say, that talking with you is both nice and enjoyable, even calm in a way.
-C said, seeing no reason to lie about that along with expressing those last words the best he could do, just to let him know that. C didn’t really think much about himself or anything like that but, at least he did his own choices when he puts someone under his care and even adopts despite only one person called him ‘dad’. Either way, it was nice to have his Sons and be capable to help that Whitty.-
"Very fair. Besides, just because they're on your side doesn't mean they'd want to risk their lives, and that's perfectly fine." Frankly, he wished he'd have said no to William, when he tasked corpse with putting her back together. In the end, it was them that ended up needing to be fixed. Ironic, huh? He'd noticed the shift in eye color, but he wasn't going to ask. Not only did Michael not know what it meant, but he needed to register it first. After all, the only... Previously people individuals he knew to do that were the animatronics. Corpse really needed to talke these pictures down... Well, except the ones with Chris and mom. He didn't know how to feel about Elizabeth anymore, and that made seeing them everywhere... Kind of awkward. Corpse had already forced William out of them, so that was fine. "Hm... Well, a new episode of it should be airing today, if I remember correctly, so if you really do want to we could watch it together? And I'm not sure if anything besides the singing counts as a hobby. Pretty sure the rest just counts as... Things you do? In a way?" The topic of adopting was a bit... Uncomfortable, for the undead, but he kept his discomfort well hidden. After all, he'd had a lifetime to perfect that skill, William never did like people disagreeing with him, even if they never vocalized it. "What are my hobbies? Well, making things. I was a technician, and I guess building things always stuck with me." It was exactly the reason he had a room dedicated to collecting metal, both ones that he'd found and that were left over from one of his passion projects. "Other than that, watching TV, though I don't know if that counts as a hobby." At C's honesty, Michael paused. "You.... Huh." They smiled under his mask. "Agreed. You're... Pleasant to talk to, really." Maybe... C was clearly not human, the eye color shift was enough to tell. Would he mind? "... I have something to show you, actually. It.... Might be a bit disturbing though. Do you want to see it?" He lifted his hand to his mask, rubbing it nervously.
