I haven’t been to the Boston Public Gardens since I was a junior in high school, in Boston to tour Boston College, and so I took my time walking all around it on such a beautiful day. One thing I really wanted to see was the statue that’s in honor of Robert McCloskey’s iconic children’s book Make Way for Ducklings, and I literally sat in a bench by said statue for a solid 15-20 minutes, scrolling Twitter, while I waited for parents to stop draping their infant children all over it for their Facebook/IG photos. 

(I should note that the kids who clearly read and loved the book freaking out about the statue were adorable and endearing; I just found the parents posing with their kids who don’t even know where their noses are a little odd, as they were clearly trying to angle to get the best possible photos.)

If nothing else, it’s a glorious place to visit in the height of the fall foliage in early November.
