aka i'm bored and trying to ease back into writing so I can finally finish life after so heres a bit of my dumb annoyances to lovers scorbus fic based somewhat loosely on shadow and bone verse wesper where scorpius works with cbj at a bubble tea shop and may or may not have had reason to be rude to albus (who has definitely never met him before!!!!) <3

“He was just so rude! He was completely arrogant, he had a problem with me almost the moment I walked in the door— I’m fucked if I know why—and he was so—” “Rude?” Polly sighs, both exasperated and amused at once. “You have repeated this about six times now, Albus.” “Because I still can’t believe it! You owe me four pounds by the way.” “We both know I’m not giving you four pounds.” “We do,” Albus concedes, his shoulders dropping, “but you could at least pretend.” “I would, buttercup, but you know I have a real thing about honesty,” Polly hums. She takes another sip of her coconut tea and pauses, both for effect and to chew a couple of pearls. “Which is why I’m also going to tell you it sounds like you kind of want to fuck this barista.” Albus splutters. “Excuse me?!” “You spent a little too long describing his hair at the start there,” Polly says, “and using the word freakishly when talking about his blue eyes actually does nothing but tell me that you were paying attention.” “I was painting you a picture!” “You were writing me the beginning of an erotic novel.”
