final thoughts on games today:
Tl;dr: london is going to have Issues with a capital I, paris is fine and will be better w hanbin, boston were okay and them losing just solidifies how fucking scary and well-oiled nyxl is rather than boston being terrible. Titans, like usual, have no respect for their opponents and could be even scarier /if/ they wanted to be, valiant pops off sometimes but cant do it consistently, shock looks rusty and dallas needs to pocket decay even harder than they already are to win games.
london: i see a lot of potential in them, but until they gain confidence they’re c tier for me. They seem overcoached and lost when they aren’t unable to go through with their set plays, of which they way too many for each map. When they were able to play their game, they cycled their ults well, but were easily forced out of their comfort zone. Bernar tried his best to carry, but jmac looked lost and wasn’t able to bait nicodgh’s walls at all, that might be a problem w coordination w sanguinar for speedboost tho. babel wasn’t quick enough to get his walls out in time, though they were great when he did. Glister and highly tried their best, sanguinar seems to play very individualistically which gave london chances, but fdgod just outplayed him mostly. Once teams figure out how to play vs them they’re fucked unless the coaches move away from set plays and unless the team builds more confidence. This team is going to suffer with hero pools if they don’t fix something quick. London honestly and truly has a TON of potential, but not the coordination or confidence or coaching to utilize it.
paris: they’re gonna be scary as they get more coordinated! Can’t wait til they can run at full strength w better tanks. They made good adaptations and looked good doing it. Nicodgh’s walls were sick, nosmite looked great, fdgod is a fragger, xzi clicked heads and greyy and hyp did good too. Benbest i didnt watch. I really like what i see with this team, but we haven’t seen them at full strength so i dont feel like i have much to say about them. Definitely a dark horse for me. They should thrive with hero pools.
nyxl: nyxl looks as dominant as ever. They’re coordinated, smart, aware, turn impossible situations around, and quickly shut down every win condition boston had before they could even execute it. Though whoru’s mei is def the weak link for me (his walls kinda suck. I think theyre just giving him stage experience here tbh. His genji slaps tho), him and sbb/nenne are a scary duo, everything that can be said abt jjonak and anamo has been said already (They are the best. They are the best. They are the best.), and mano and hotba are both doing excellently. I dont feel that this is their optimal meta, but nyxl has showed a lot of willingness to adapt to their opponents and make swaps, which i like. I’m not worried for them in hero pools, though they might stumble a bit. They’re solidly in S tier for me now
boston: This is gonna be controversial (and take this w a grain of salt cuz im plat.) but boston played better than i expected cuz im a pessimist and was expecting them to get completely rolled, and they at least showed some signs of life. They’ve clearly scrimmed a lot of different comps and looked at least vaguely competent in them, which is more than dallas valiant and london can say. They tried to go for a lot of clutches which never rly worked. they tried to adapt, but nyxl outmatched them and kinda drove them away. Axxiom and fusions were coordinated and i liked their dive, their double shield not so much. boston dps were holding their own, swimmer and myunbong were too, there’s not rly a carry on this team. axxiom i think is being slept on tho. They could definitely kite better and coordinate more, and make faster/smarter swaps, but they at least looked pretty synergized. They were clearly outmatched but they def looked better throughout the whole series than london did vs nyxl after the first 2 maps. Boston seems like a B- tier team to me, but they could be better and i do want to see them play more before im certain abt this. I’d call this a quality loss despite the scoreline
vancouver: Titans clearly didn’t prep much for this match and didn’t respect valiant as much as they should have. There’s no weak points on this team, just that all of them went for clutches they shouldn’t have and got punished for it bc they assumed valiant would be weaker than they were. Titans hate being methodical but are great when they are. When they subbed stitch in, they went for more dumb plays it seemed like, so i bet sms is the one keeping them chill. Fissure’s playing bumper style (taking space and dying for it) but quieter, which I like, bc it means they can pocket haksal harder and let twilight go for more plays. Good adaptations, great plays, great synergy, once titans got their feet under them and downloaded valiant it was over. Their dive was soooo clean. Nothing to be said about this roster that hasnt been said already (theyre the best). This is classic titans and im glad to see losing bumper hasnt completely stopped them from doing dumb shit, cuz even if it hurts me to watch its fun. They should be absolutely fine with hero pools, S tier.
valiant: Valiant only have one comp and theyre Very good at it, especially in the mirror, but theyre having trouble adapting to titans. They have very high highs and very low lows, they also try to clutch sometimes and fuck up. When the team pops off theyre sick, when they dont they… dont. Gig is a madlad. I do like that they prepped for the titan’s bap strat on lijiang and shut it down entirely, that was very good coaching, but they weren’t able to adapt to non-mirror matches after that. They might get fucked by hero pools bc they didn’t show anything successfully other than rein/dva variations, but we’ll see. I'm finding them fun to watch and I'm interested to see if they can consistently maintain their peak play. B tier, i think their weaknesses are more exploitable than boston’s but that boston would lose to them. Id compare them to hunters last year but if hunters played meta
shock: I didnt watch this match super close tbh. Shock looks strong as usual, but they stumbled far too much for my liking when they let doha and decay get value but otherwise incredibly dominant. Architect’s ana got sooooo much value as the series went on, beautiful sleeps beautiful nades beautiful nanos etc *chefs kiss.* i dont think shock prepped super hard for them, and they rly couldve adapted better on horizon and won that map, but it was overall dominant. They seemed pretty rusty honestly but theyre still good, but they should be pissed they got fullheld on horizon. I’m not going to draw any conclusions from this game when it comes to shock bc its one game and its their first game back. S tier, they’ll be fine with hero pools.
Dallas: Dallas looked way better than yesterday, when decay and doha were unleashed and it was less about taking space they were monsters. Tank play was better but not great, glad theyre not making note play rein anymore. Decay is a god and doha played around him really well and his walls were sick. When decay couldn’t play mccree and couldnt get support, there was nothing dallas could do. Gamsu… seemed a bit tilted and used ults he shouldnt have. There were also communication issues, it didnt seem like trill called some of his shatters which meant the team couldnt follow up. They weren’t able to adapt that well without set strats, and other teams will use that to their advantage. Once a team figures out how to shut down doha and decay the game is over. C tier, will struggle in hero pools
right now rankings for me go titans, nyxl shock in S tier, glads in A tier, toronto, paris, valiant, boston in B tier, dallas, london in C tier

Wonwoo: Out of Luck
Anonymous asked: hi :) do u have requests open? if yes, can i send u a prompt for a wonwoo smut? :D Ok, so the prompt is "give me your hoodie and fuck me in it" lol dont ask and maybe for gamer!wonwoo? 👀👀 If youll feel inspired for this, thank you! ♡
Tumblr media
Characters: Wonwoo x female reader
Genre/warnings: pro gamer/overwatch league au, a little bit of fluff n angst but like it’s honestly all just mostly smut lmao (fingering, oral)
Word count: 4,147
Summary: Wonwoo has a lot of weird superstitions as a pro gamer, but he has two big ones: fucking you in his jersey before any games he’s particularly nervous for, and always wearing his lucky sweatshirt under his jersey during every game. However, when his team loses for the first time to yours, he fears that his lucky sweatshirt has run out of luck. So you decide to put some of your luck into it.
a/n: since I already have a gamer!wonwoo series, I decided to just put it in that universe. hope you don’t mind, anon!!
You walked into Wonwoo’s room after Minghao let you into their team house, the first thing greeting you being your boyfriend’s back. Of course, he was wearing his Serpents sweatshirt, which was completely black with the bright red printing. There were snakes that went down both arms, but the thing that your eyes were always drawn to was the ‘WONU’ printed on the back with his jersey number below it. Ever since the team manager gave the Serpents those sweatshirts before the recent season began about two months ago, Wonwoo’s worn it just about everyday.
“Doing something?” you asked with a small smirk.
Wonwoo turned, his glasses pushed up the bridge of his nose as he looked at you before he went back to scouring his floor that was already covered in clothes. He’d only been back in the team house for a couple months, but he already made a mess of his room.
“I can’t remember where my jersey went,” he replied in almost a mumble as he scratched the back of his head, making a bigger mess of his curly hair. “I didn’t leave it at yours, did I?”
“No, I gave it back after the Soonyoung incident,” you replied with a slight chuckle at the memory -- even if it did embarrass the hell out of you and you couldn’t look Soonyoung in the eyes for about two weeks. “Speaking of Soonyoung, is this why he won’t let you live with him and Chan?”
Wonwoo scoffed, bending over to shift through sweatshirts and t-shirts, “Please, have you seen his room? He’s messier than I am.”
“Why are you looking for your jersey anyway?” you questioned as you went to sit in his gaming chair, pulling your knees to your chest and wrapping your arms around them. “You don’t play until Thursday, and it’s Monday.”
Your boyfriend turned to look at you, a smirk that made your stomach do flips gracing his face. His voice was lower when he spoke.
“We’re facing the NYXL on Thursday, and I need all the luck I can get until then -- starting today.”
You never knew what it was with Wonwoo loving to see you in his jersey -- and loving even more when you wore it while he pressed you into the mattress or bent you over his desk or had you in his lap in his chair -- but you never complained, and you especially weren’t now since you barely even had the time to see Wonwoo in person in the last two weeks.
In an instant, you were up and helping Wonwoo search for his jersey, making him laugh at your eagerness.
-
“I think Serpents versus Warriors is a match everybody always looks forward to,” you could hear one of the casters saying as your team walked through the crowd and up to the stage. “Because of the known relationship between WonU on the Sozhou Serpents and m0chi on the Busan Warriors, people look forward to seeing this game.”
“Yeah, there’s something about watching a couple kill each other in a video game that really seems to rile everybody up,” the second caster agreed. “The matches between Serpents and Warriors might be even more popular than seeing the two home teams go up against each other.”
You just smirked to yourself, giving hi-fives to the fans on either side of you. Yuta in front of you turned his head to give you a playful smile before he carried on to the stage, following Jihoon, Jeonghan, Mingyu, and Hongbin up to the computers. As you passed by Wonwoo who sat at the very end of his row of computers, you smiled at him and shot a finger gun at him, making him blush slightly and roll his eyes.
It also made the crowd coo at both of you, which you ignored as you went to sit in your seat that was four away from Wonwoo.
Your coaches prepared you for this game ever since the Serpents’ first game. They were on a winning streak -- Wonwoo insisted it was the sweatshirt -- but your coaches were planning to bring that to an end. You and Wonwoo both knew well enough to not let the game get between you, which you learned that the hard way, so whether you beat him or not wouldn’t matter.
Keeping all of that in mind, you put on your headset and prepared for the game.
“So _____,” Mingyu spoke up, “what are the stakes between you and Woo?”
“What stakes?”
“If you win, are you getting a face full of mattress tonight?”
You heard the whole team groan, with Hongbin reminding Mingyu that their comms were being recorded, and Jihoon breathing out a, “Please just shut the fuck up.”
-
After the signing, you asked Mingyu to drop you off at the Serpents’ team house. You had been congratulated all night, as well as getting asked how Wonwoo was feeling about his team’s first loss of the season.
“Nobody likes losing, but he’s fine with it,” you shrugged even though you didn’t really get to see his reaction other than ‘shaking his hand’ at the end of the match which was actually him giving you a quick kiss and putting a childish pout on his face.
“He’s just happy he lost to his girlfriend rather than some other team,” Mingyu scoffed, sliding the poster he was signing over to Taehyung on his other side.
But now you were able to have a real conversation with him about the game -- although, judging from the texts Chan sent you, you were sure Wonwoo was losing his mind for whatever reason.
Not many people stayed at the team house anymore. Soonyoung and Chan had their own place they stayed when they did have to be in California for most of the year, Tao lived in his own apartment, and you had never really seen Sanghyuk around much at all. So as far as you knew, it was Wonwoo, Junhui, Minghao, and two or three other boys from the roster that you knew but only really interacted with while making the walk of shame out of the house in the morning.
You went up to Wonwoo’s room, only to find it empty. You frowned, turning around and trying to think of where he would be. Did he even come home? Maybe he went to Chan and Soonyoung’s.
“Hey, Hao?” you spoke up when you saw the Chinese player walking out of his room and down the hall.
He paused where you were, smiling at you, “Yeah, what’s up?”
“Where’s Woo?”
“Um...” he paused as he tried to think, his glasses starting to slide down his nose when he slightly scrunched his face. “I think we went to the practice room for a bit. He might be streaming or something. He was really sulky after the match, though.”
All you could do was sigh and thank Minghao before you made your way back downstairs and walked through the large house until you got to their practice room where they usually held scrims. You knew Wonwoo was probably upset over his weird rituals not working, but you’d also never seen him upset over losing before. You weren’t really sure what to expect when you saw him.
Entering the room full of computers, you saw only one person inside: Wonwoo. His back was to you while he clicked away at the computer, clearly in the middle of a game. He occasionally mumbled something to himself, but you couldn’t hear what it was. You just knew it wasn’t in reply to Twitch chat because he only had one monitor to work with in the practice rooms.
“Hey, Wonwoo?” your voice was quiet and almost timid as you approached him.
It wasn’t that you were afraid he would snap at you, but you were afraid of somehow upsetting him further since you were the one who ended his winning streak.
He let out a sigh, running a hand through his hair and knocking off his headphones as “DEFEAT” showed up on the screen. His head laid back against the chair as he groaned, rubbing his face with his hands as you continued to make your cautious approach.
“I lost it,” he groaned.
You shrugged, leaning back against the desk as you gave him an apologetic look that he couldn’t see behind his hands, “It was just one match.”
“No, I mean my luck!” he clarified as he dropped his hands and looked up at you with a pout that you couldn’t help but melt at. “My luck is completely gone! Now I’m on a losing streak!”
“I doubt your luck is gone, Woo,” you chuckled.
“You took it,” he whined, gripping your hips to pull you closer before he buried his face in your stomach. “Ugh, it was probably from Monday.”
“But you beat New York, remember?” you reminded him as your fingers moved to play with his hair. “We didn’t do anything after Monday.”
The two of you had a ‘no sex before we face each other’ rule because you refused to give Wonwoo any sort of luck -- even if you didn’t believe that sex or his dumb sweatshirt made him any luckier. But it also just made sex after your game that much better.
“That was the last of it,” he insisted, his voice muffled by your body. “The rest of it went to you.”
All you could do was laugh softly, “What do you want me to do about it?”
“Give it baaaaack,” he whined.
“Wonwoo, I--” you paused, suddenly getting an idea. It might’ve been pretty stupid since it would feed into both of his dumb superstitions, but you would still get something out of it for yourself. You smirked, lightly gripping your boyfriend’s chin to make him look up at you. “I have an idea...”
“Will it make me win again?” he asked, a pout on his face and even in his tone. “Will it make my sweatshirt lucky again?”
“Maybe...”
He instantly perked up, “What is it?”
You bent down, whispering as seductively as you could manage, “Give me your hoodie and fuck me in it.”
You felt Wonwoo stiffen, and a soft groan came from the back of his throat as his hands tightened on your hips.
“Oh my god, why didn’t I think of that before?” he asked, though it was mostly to himself. “Get the door, okay?”
While you rushed to the door to lock it, Wonwoo stood up and took off his Serpents sweatshirt, as well as his white t-shirt that was underneath. When you turned back around, you saw Wonwoo wasn’t making any moved to remove his black joggers even though you could already see a small bulge forming in them.
He gestured for you to take off your own shirt, which you quickly did as you walked over to him. Your Warriors jersey was dropped, landing carelessly on the floor while you reached to un-clip your bra as well and toss that over onto another monitor.
“Arms up,” he instructed with a soft smile as his eyes raked your naked torso.
You stood in front of him, arms raised over your head. Wonwoo helped put his hoodie on you, chuckling when your head poked out of the top hole with your hair a mess. You couldn’t help but giggle, pushing the hood back and fixing your hair as best as you could.
While you did that, Wonwoo’s fingers moved down to your joggers, tugging on them until they made it far enough past your thighs to drop to the floor on their own. You suddenly felt arousal shoot through you, the realization of what was about to happen in the Serpent’s practice room. Somehow, the fact it was in the practice room only turned you on further.
Wonwoo gently pushed you to sit down in the chair he was just sitting in. He would’ve preferred doing this in his room, but he didn’t want to make the trip through the house and up the stairs -- plus there was less of a chance of being heard in the practice room. Not that he really cared if you were heard in the moment, but it made things less embarrassing afterwards.
Dropping down to his knees, Wonwoo’s eyes never left you. His eyes scanned over your body and how you bit your lip in anticipation, watching his every move. His tongue darted out to went his lips, always loving the look of you in something that was his -- especially if it belonged to his team and had his name on it. He felt that it really drove home that fact that you belonged to him.
“You always look so good,” he mumbled, dipping his head down to your clothed core as he put one of your legs over his shoulder.
You sucked in a breath when you felt his finger hook your panties and push them to the side. One of your hands went to his hair when you felt his plush lips wrap around your clit, sucking and licking softly. The finger he used to move your underwear aside teased your entrance, making you wiggle your hips as much as you could just to get it inside you. Wonwoo chuckled softly, the vibrations against you making you moan out quietly as he slid his long digit in easily, curling it and pumping at a steady pace.
You swung your other leg over the arm of the chair, opening your legs further to give Wonwoo more access. He smirked against you, lifting his head a bit to speak.
“Eager?”
You weren’t even going to deny it, nodding your head shamelessly. He couldn’t help but laugh deep in his chest before he brought his mouth back to your clit. He added a second finger, your other hand that was gripping the other arm of the chair going to his hair as well. You whimpered his name softly as he scissored his fingers inside you, feeling how wet you became so quickly. The room was quickly filled with squelching sounds as his fingers moved in and out of you, pumping at a faster pace.
“Wonwoo,” you whined, your head falling to the side as you watched him eat you out.
“Hmm?”
“Fuck me.”
Wonwoo’s eyes darkened, pulling away from you. His fingers slid out and he put them in his mouth as he stood up, seeming to decide how he wanted to do this as he sucked your arousal off of his digits. You stayed perfectly still as you watched him, waiting to see what he’d want you to do.
His eyes drifted to his phone that was still on the desk, softly buzzing and glowing to life with a text. With his glasses on, he could see it was from his groupchat with Soonyoung and Chan.
Hoshi: so
Hoshi: hows it feel to lose to your girlfriend
Hoshi: hows it feel to have your winning streak completely obliterated by your own girlfriend
Hoshi: 😏😏
You watched as Wonwoo’s eyes narrowed before he looked at you, almost glaring at you.
“Sit on the desk,” he ordered, nodding his head toward the space between two of the monitors.
You got up from the chair and positioned yourself on the desk between the monitors, your hands pressed on the space behind you to prop you up. You lifted your hips as Wonwoo hooked his fingers in your underwear, sliding them off your legs in record time. He had this new fire ignited in him that you’d seen before when you’d beat him at almost anything that you’d turned into a competition or when he had a particularly rough stream or match. It made you excited, arousal starting to drip down your thighs.
Wonwoo bent down to get a condom from his backpack before he stood up and pushed his joggers and boxers down just enough for his erection to spring free. He tore the condom wrapper open before he rolled the condom down his length, stroking it a few times to get it fully hard as his eyes scanned over you a few times.
“I can’t believe you ended my streak,” he grumbled, his eyes locked on yours as he stepped forward to align himself with your entrance.
You giggled softly with a cocky smile, “Angry?”
“No,” he scoffed as he thrust into your sharply, causing you to gasp and sit up straighter. He smirked at your reaction as he added, “just annoyed.”
He set a pace that was much faster than you anticipated, having to put your hands further back on the desk near the wall just to steady yourself. His hands gripped your hips tightly, keeping them in place while the rest of you rocked back with each snap of his hips. Your head dropped back, just inches from hitting the wall, while your eyes were half open to look up at him.
Wonwoo’s hands slid up from your hips, moving under the hoodie as they traveled up your torso and to your breasts. He kneaded them roughly, his thumbs rubbing over your nipples and making you moan out his name.
“Come on,” you breathed, a lazy smile on your face as you moved one hand to hold onto Wonwoo’s shoulder, your legs wrapped around him as well, “you can do better than that. I beat your team and fucked up your winning streak, and this is the best you can do?”
“Shut up,” he grunted, moving one hand out from under your clothes to put against your neck. He didn’t squeeze it, he just rested it there as almost a threat.
“Holding back in-game first, and now this?” you teased, raising an eyebrow as a soft moan fell from your lips. You knew exactly what you were doing, and it was working judging from the way his eyebrows set lower on his face in concentration. “No wonder you lost, Woo.”
Wonwoo gripped your thighs with both hands, pulling you forward in a sharp tug. You slipped to your back on the table, nearly hitting your head as you gasped. Wonwoo’s thrusts sped up as he put one of your legs over his shoulder, drowning out any teasing words that you wanted to say and replacing them with mewls of his name.
“Is this what you wanted?” he asked, groaning at the way you clenched around him at this new angle.
You nodded, shamelessly admitting it.
He bent over you, cupping your cheek with one hand while the other moved back to your hip, “You’re the biggest pain in my ass.”
His lips pressed to yours as his hips kept their fast, rough pace. One of your hands moved down to rub your clit in fast circles, chasing the high that you were so close to. His mouth moved down your jaw and to your neck, leaving wet kisses as he nipped and sucked at your skin.
“Fuck, I’m close,” he hissed.
“Me too...” you whimpered, raising your hips as best as you could in your current position.
Wonwoo sat up straight again, his fingertips digging into your hips as he moved his hips as quickly as he could. You could feel your eyes threatening to close as your orgasm approached, your back arching off of the table.
You came with his name coming out in a high moan, followed by whatever profanity your brain could think of, your eyes closing as Wonwoo rode out your high while also getting himself to his own. Feeling you clench around him pushed him over the edge, high, breathy moans falling past his lips as his hips began to stutter.
After the two of you had managed to come down, Wonwoo slowly pulled out of you and removed the condom, tying it up as he made his way over to the trash. He adjusted his bottoms while you just laid on the desk and tried to catch your breath.
“You alright?” he asked with a soft chuckle, leaning over to look at your face.
“Yeah,” you breathed, taking the hand he offered to help pull you up. “Feel better now?”
“I wouldn’t have been so worked up had it not been for your big mouth,” he told you with a laugh, poking your stomach as you stood up.
“Listen, we both needed it,” you insisted as you grabbed your underwear and put them back on before you put your own joggers back on. “Do you think your hoodie is lucky enough now?”
“Eh, maybe wear it for a little longer to make sure your luck rubs off on it.”
“You just like seeing me in your clothes.”
“You say that like it’s a bad thing.”
-
“It’s all tied up, and this last round will decide who wins: the Suzhou Serpents or the Chengdu Hunters,” the castor announced as the clock counted down.
As always -- unless they were playing -- you went to the game with Hansol and Seungkwan. Despite the fact Seungkwan still insisted he wouldn’t root for “the enemy”, Hansol was very supportive and cheered for the Serpents anyway -- including the rival tank duo that Seungkwan still refused to warm up to.
“They’re close to winning,” Hansol said in your ear above all the yelling as the two teams ran out of spawn. “Do you think they’ll do it?”
“They better,” you sighed. “I can’t be forced to wear that sweatshirt 24 hours a day again."
While you did like wearing Wonwoo’s clothes, you didn’t want to be stuck in a hoodie when you were in LA. You had become a walking waterfall from how much you sweat just stepping outside, especially since the sweatshirt was black.
“I hope the Hunters win,” Seungkwan said for the umpteenth time, pouting as he watched the screen.
“You wanna see _____ in the Serpents jersey some more?” Hansol asked.
Seungkwan’s eyes widened, realizing it was a catch 22 -- he either wanted Wonwoo’s team to lose which would result in more Serpents apparel, or he wanted them to win which would mean he would be cheering for the enemy. You and Hansol just laughed at him before turning your attention back to the screen.
It was back and forth a lot, but it was finally down to 99% on each side. The Serpents had control of the map, but the Hunters could flip it at any time. You were standing up with half the crowd, shouting encouragement at the team you were rooting for. Hansol joined you, but Seungkwan stayed seated, contemplating his decisions.
Finally, somebody stepped too far off the point, and the overtime bar went down in a second, half the crowd going absolutely wild. The arena changed to the colors for the Serpents as the team stood and patted each other on the back for their victory.
As the Serpents walked across the stage to shake hands with the other team, Wonwoo’s eyes met yours in the crowd, flashing you a wink.
You left with Hansol and Seungkwan while Junhui went down to be interviewed. You went to the lobby to wait for Wonwoo while a handful of fans had gathered around the three of you, asking for pictures and autographs that you smiled and agreed to.
Finally, you felt an arm wrap around your waist as lips pressed to your temple.
“You did it,” Wonwoo grinned, pulling you closer into his side.
“I’m glad that whole crisis is over,” you told him. “It was silly.”
“Oh, _____!” you heard somebody call your name.
You turned around to see Soonyoung jogging over to you with a smug grin -- only letting it fall when he saw Hansol and Seungkwan beside you. Still, he went up and stopped in front of you, giggling to himself before he spoke.
“You left something in our practice room the other day,” he told you.
Your eyebrows furrowed while Wonwoo just gave him a puzzled look. Nobody had known you were in the practice room except Minghao, but they assumed you were just in and out.
“I did?” you asked, sure that you had brought everything home with you.
Soonyoung reached inside his half-zipped backpack, pulling out a bra that he let dangle on his finger by the strap. Your eyes widened as your cheeks heated up.
“This,” he began, swinging it a bit, “was on my monitor.”
You quickly grabbed the article of clothing before stuffing it in the pocket of Wonwoo’s hoodie. Seungkwan and Hansol were snickering behind you, Wonwoo joining in even though he knew he’d gotten caught about having sex in the practice room. But hey, it wasn’t like his underwear was found in there by his friends.
You glared at your boyfriend, growling under your breath, “I’m getting you back for this.”
He just smirked, “Can’t wait.”

the new plat chat ep came out and they were talking abt nyxl and,,,,,, excuse me while i just rant abt owl/nyxl for a second,,,, putting under a read more,,, if u wanna see me yell abt smth useless that u probably dont know/care about, you were warned 🙇🏻‍♀️
OKAY SO first of all im annoyed we got rid of flow3r,,,, i think his doomfist was very average and could have been developed into a top tier one if we had a better coach. pine was just bound to leave tbh and like,, im upset but im not that upset bc he did nothing for us this season ://///
AND MEKO LORD MEKO I MISS U BUT LIKE THEY WERE RIGHT meko is arguably an amazing d.va and within the few sigmas in owl he was very good but idk,,,, i think that this move was very good for us and signing hotba was just *chefs kiss* ive loved him when i watched him on charge and tho charge didnt make it past playins he was still arguably the best player on that roster besides nero
and i think nyxls play style will be extremely more dynamic, theyve constantly played passive and defensive and like,, i know in football its like ‘defense wins championships’ but like,,, that is not fucking true in owl,,,,,, like you need to have amazing players, a solid coaching staff and with overwatch you have to be aggressive and the players rlly carried the fuck out of nyxl with their skill but i like that we signed hotba because with him we can play offensive but we can also choose to play passive (which is our wheelhouse) when we want like we would have the best of both worlds ??? so im excited for that
whoru,,,, hes a wild card honestly BUT i think that libero (and they pissed me off saying libero wasnt top tier bc stfu) can carry with genji and doom which whoru can play,,, and i think that having the two of them on the roster allows for one to play home games and one to play away games or even just have a rest ya know and then sbb and nenne can carry on widow and tracer and other dps that libero and whoru cant play as well so like,, our dps is solid tbh
im still so fucking annoyed that we havent signed a support yet,,, like besides the starting two we have an underaged player that cant play until over half of the season is over like ?!?!?!?!?! yea jjonak is a fucking machine and anamo is... anamo,,,, but like they need rest,,,, you cant just have them play so many games back to back,,, travel and train like ??? theyre gonna get so fucking burnt out and then we will shit the bed
so the casters put us at 2 (for now) and like,,,,, im actually thinking we will be top 5 and we will still be a top tier team but like,,, every time the fans get comfortable with nyxl they just throw some wrench in it and just are bad and i dont wanna get too comfortable but they also said that nyxl dont have that pressure anymore from s1 bc of jjonak getting mvp and everything that happened in s1, going into this season there isnt really any pressures, i mean they wanna win but now its like theres no super high expectation (like they is for shock and i sincerely hope shock shit the bed this season uwu) but im actually excited and i think they will get more wins than they got this year (they got 22 wins this year and 6 losses)
so like,, this was a useless rant but i wanna say i love nyxl and my esgb and lets go for another atlantic title bois 🥴🤪

@cada5h replied to your post “re: the rjh and tobi interviews, briggsy has a very good point on...”
Not trying to start an argument but from my perspective and the perspective of others on this its exploitative in the sense that OWL is literally making money off their tears and devastation, and that esports is new and finding its foot in the world. I watch sad movies, horror movies, devastating documentaries all the time . Theres a difference between those and what OWL has done. Now that's just my two cents.
I think I’m just struggling to understand what exactly is exploitative about it beyond “they let them cry on broadcast”. It’s a voluntary interview, in which rjh and tobi consented to being interviewed and during which did not ask the interview to be ended early, and neither did production make the decision for them and end the interview.
My point is the same as your last sentence: there is a difference between sad movies and the voluntary rjh + tobi interview, in which the interview is actually about the players’ feelings and not our own. And, it is presumptuous of me, but much of the outrage and backlash I’ve seen seems to be coming from a place of “I do not personally like to see these players be upset on camera because it is upsetting to me personally” instead of a place of “the camera is invading these players personal spaces and overriding their agency over their emotions by interviewing them when they do not want to be interviewed”.
Did OWL force these players to cry? Did OWL seek out the most devastated players for the intention of broadcasting someone crying? Did OWL force players to be interviewed? How, exactly, did OWL orchestrate this for the purposes of money and views? To keep this one short, I do have a post walking through some of my views on the decisions production did make.
I’m just struggling to see how it’s exploitative because I cannot, at any place, figure out where OWL production forced rjh and tobi to do anything or intentionally created this moment.
Briggsy’s thread talks about the dangers of over-empathy to the point of starting to encroach on the agency of the players themselves. Is it the Shock’s call to say that London should not be interviewed as the losers? Is it our call as fans? Is it production’s call to decide that their volunteer’s interview should not continue and cut it off in the middle?
OWL is a sport that involves real people, and there will always be devastated players because someone has to lose. If you want to avoid making money off sad players, you need to make OWL into WWE. That is, you need to script everything in advance. But, naturally, we can’t do that.
I don’t particularly see what production did wrong. Is it the very concept of loser interviews?
I ask the same in which like: it is exploitative for Project Runway, America’s Next Top Model, GGBO, Chopped to interview the people who are going home this week, people who are just as emotional as rjh and tobi were? Was it exploitative to interview the dry-eyed players of Seoul, Glads, Spark, Titans, Shock last week? Was it exploitative for NYXL to create their video of the post-game after the semis loss to Philly last year, which also showed the players just as emotionally devstated?
Nobody is outraged about any of these other things I listed, so I don’t know why the rjh and tobi interviews are different, other than rjh and tobi got emotional to tears and they chose to go through the interview.
In the end, interviewing the losing team is a good thing to do. It lets these players have a last moment to speak to their fans at the end of a disappointing outcome. It gives them the chance to express their gratitude, their willingness to do better, and their hopes that next season will be better. The only mistake OWL made, I think, is the timing of it. They should have allowed the Player of the Match and final comments before these interviews to give the players a couple of minutes.
Personally, I don’t think the concept of letting a player, even one who is devastated to tears, speak on camera is wrong. If the player volunteered for it, and they are willing to accept all outcomes of that including crying on the broadcast, is it their choice to make.
It isn’t, in my opinion, up to us to criticize production for allowing these players to voluntarily make that choice.

liz owldesk’s overwatch league s2 power rankings! come enjoy my probably wrong takes~~
(ranking s-tier to c-tier. note that c-tier doesn’t mean a team is bad! this is just a comparative measurement. i think that every team this year will be competitive. also, the order i wrote them within the tiers means literally nothing, it’s not like from best to worst within a tier or w/e, just assume that if they’re in a tier it’s all a level playing field.)
S-Tier -
Spitfire
former championship team which has made no roster changes
got coaching struggles under control towards the end of s1 so no problems there
S-Tier players there’s no question about it
birdring’s wrist will be fully healed (hopefully)
has a top tier tank line which is a plus a lot of teams don’t have
NYXL
set the standard for play in s1 across the board
top tier dps players
incredible teamwork
idk people act like because they lost once they’re no longer good and i don’t agree with that so i’m putting them here because without proof they’re still a top team
Fusion
runner up of s1
has incredible players at every position, seriously
especially supports, their support line is so good
again, nothing has changed since the end of s1 so they’re still good
also they’re gonna have sado all season this time which is a big plus
Shock
as opposed to other teams who has stayed the same, shock have made a TON of improvements.
they have all the players they had at the end of s1, plus crusty the best coach, and then the pickups are insane
the pickups!!! they have striker, they have smurf, they have viol2t,,,,, Holy Shit Dude
every weakness shock had they fixed, like, 10x better than they even needed to
moral of this: shock is looking so. so fucking good.
A-Tier
Dragons
complete overhaul which turned into a mostly korean roster
some seriously good players dude
CoMa is like, a crazy good lucio just wanted to address him specifically
looks to be a great team, but i’m not confident enough to make them s-tier
(no idea how they’re gonna play together, i love them all but some of them are on different skill levels and i don’t know the coaching so i’m gonna wait and see)
Titans
RUNAWAY
RUNAWAY
they’ve been considered the best korean talent for a long long time
most recently won contenders s2 but has won/been runner up for a TON of big name korean tournaments (cough apex come back cough)
crazy good tank line, dps, supports,,, just good all around
plus they have such a good coach (former fusion uni)
still, don’t know how different owl is from contenders so they might struggle a little
gonna list them a-tier for now. but if they’re not s-tier by the end of stage two, i’ll fucking,,,, idk. be very surprised.
Gladiators
same as last year, when they were a-tier
“but what about fissure!!” you may say. “what about fissure?” i answer. look, this isn’t his meta, and r0ar is very very good. the glads are gonna be fine.
Dynasty
they finally have a main tank thank god
only one tank, bc marve1 doesn’t exist. he can’t. he just can’t. Please don’t play marve1.
anyways, pls dynasty don’t clown
Charge
they held their own against dynasty so if dynasty is a-tier i guess so are charge
i did not expect to put them here, believe me
anyways, eileen FUCKS rio FUCK chara FUCKS shu FUCKS
as complicated as my opinion on happy is, he also FUCKS
good team all around :)
Spark
a mix of the best korean and chinese talent
guxue and krystal are both so good
and then iDK (legendary), godsB (legendary), adora (legendary)
basically they’re all great and it think they’re gonna do well if they get over communication issues
this is my biggest gamble on this list
B-Tier
Reign
this is PURELY on the back of the daco/pokpo tank line
also erster is good and i’ll even say nlaaer and kodak can help too
mostly here because this is the team most likely to have drama
i mean gd dafran jesus christ
but if the team can get through it then i think they can be pretty good
Valiant
this one is gonna be a controversial one please i’m so sorry
look, they’re literally at the same place they were last season
i think they’re gonna do well, but there’s so much new talent in the rest of the league idk,,,,,
there are some crazy good players on this team but i’m not confident in their coaching :/
Fuel
most of their problems from last year are gone
new flex tank player
if brig stays meta, they have mickie
effect is back !!
good coaching staff
they look like they have a real chance this season i’m happy
Hunters
this may or may not be bias
but it’s got yveltal, one of the best chinese main supports, as well as yangxaiolong and lateyoung
also no language barrier
idk their coaching staff unfortunately but if they’re good this team has a lot of potential
Uprising
look we all know the drama that happened with this team
striker: “the most memorable present i have received is moving to shock”
also, they lost a lot of the players who led them through that insane winning stage
still, they have gamsu, notE, and aimgod. Also blase now.
hmmm idk i don’t want huk to have anything. also outside of notE and gamsu i don’t see this team doing particularly well.
however i put them b-tier bc of gamsu and notE
Eternal
this is the collection of EU’s best talents
seriously this is creme de la creme of EU talent rn
they’ve got soOn, sdb, kruise, and so many other super experienced players
this is sorta a cautious placement, it all depends on how the contenders players adjust to owl play
i’m hoping they’ll be above b-tier! but i don’t know how EU contenders play stacks up to owl and even korean contenders play so i can’t say anything with confidence
so. here they go.
C-Tier
Justice
look i love wizardhyeong, janus, and ado as much as the next guy but
this team is a weird mismash of a bunch of different people, none of them considered top-tier, with a bunch of language barriers and it’s also got one of the least amount of players of any teams
i’m so not confident in this team. at all. so here they go.
Mayhem
this team tears my heart apart because. sayaplayer. but also. x***er.
still, it’s saya + mid to high tier korean players + tviq + scrimbucks xepher
i don’t see this being a good team
please someone buy out saya i want him to be on a good team.
Outlaws
i’m gonna get flamed for this so bad please don’t
look, this is another team that is in the exact same state as last season and. they weren’t great last season.
the support line is their biggest weakness and they’ve done nothing to fix it
just accept that this team is like, mid-tier at best
Defiant
a full korean team
it also does have owl veterans
honestly if this was s1, i could see defiant being a top tier team ! but it’s not to be rn
i just can’t see defiant beating any s-tier or even a-tier teams
:(

OWL Season 2 Preseason Ranking
20. Toronto Defiant
I really wanted to put Washington here because I have no faith in that team.  But the Toronto has a main tank I’m unfamiliar with and Main Tanks were extremely important in OWL way before goats meta.  I see Neko and Envy and it really inspires me.  I see Bishop and I’m like wow.  But Bishop doesn’t really have a history of winning in Overwatch lately.  From London to Cloud9 he really hasn’t been producing W’s.  I like the roster a lot and maybe the meta shifts heavily in there favor but right now I don’t think Neko can fix a frontline issue.
19. Washington Justice
I do not like this roster.  The late addition (they were all late) of Gido and Ado really inspires me but if Ado wasn’t enough to get Shanghai 1 W than he won’t be enough in what mite possibly be a more difficult season. 28 games and more down time in between.  Well rested players, highly practiced, and prepared for there matches.  Janus is really strong in this lineup and so are the coaches.  I guess this roster would do pretty good in NA contenders.
18. Chengdu Hunters
I don’t trust the roster or the process.  Highest level league play does something to teams with potential.  It chews them up and spits them out.  Maybe this is the good side of the Chinese scene that Shanghai never showed us in season 1.  I probably have them ranked too low but what the Dragons did in season 1 worries me.
17.  Guangzhou Charge
Either this team will be surprisingly good or really bad.  It really depends on the coaching staff and how well they are supported by the org. A lot of there season depends on Rio and how well he works with the different players on the roster. They mite catch themselves halfway thru the season and start playing well.
16. Florida Mayhem
I like the roster a lot.  I know BQB was accused of boosting but he’s extremely talented.  xepheR is really good. Solid DPS, decent tanks, good supports (hopefully way better than last year).  Coaching staff and org staff still seems really small.  They could surprise people depending on the meta.
15. Boston Uprising
Huk, Could be worst team in the league.  Three main tanks.  Poorly coached and managed.  Extremely talented players.
14.Shanghai Dragons
I don’t want to rank them this low but I’m floating 3-4 teams around this spot.  They haven’t won a game in OWL yet.  Hopefully they have a nice schedule of lower level teams and they can produce some quality wins.  Org seems ready to commit this season so I expect huge problems will be scorched away quickly.
13. Seoul Dynasty
Fissure is cool I guess.  They have a balanced roster, experienced team, and a schedule system that will highly benefit them.  Older players mite not listen to new in game leadership this far into there careers. I’m not very confident in there synergy and I wanted to rank them a few spots back.  They do have piles and piles of talent tho.
12. San Francisco Shock
If we remove all the DPS players from the roster and look closely will see some problems.  Mid tier off tanks and mid tier main tanks.  New season same problem.  One of there main tanks need to play at a higher level.  Off tank can exist well enough if there main tank plays well enough.  Support trio could be strong depending on the meta.
11. Houston Outlaws
I have my personal disagreements with how they play.  I’m a fan of them and they upset me from time to time.  In a goats meta having someone like Spree who can slide into that 2nd DPS spot and play Zarya is amazing.  They won’t use Spree like that.  Houston is going to fuddle thru the season and end up worse than 11th.  Could easily reach top 8 if they make good decisions before matches even start. They prepare pretty poorly and depend to heavily on classic 2/2/2 roster lineups to play the game.  Polar opposite of what the Eastern OW scene has been doing lately.
10. Atlanta Reign
May have similar issues with Houston.  Roster has built in solutions to potential problems but the team mite not use them.  I’m very big on the roster even without Dafran.  Front line has synergy.  Backup Academy front line also has great synergy.  Supports are questionable but Academy support duo is extremely experienced and reliable.  DPS is very solid for a trio.  Has 1 map sub potential which can be very powerful in OWL.  Team is built to work no matter what.  Mite not be lead in right direction to succeed.
9.  Los Angeles Valiant
There mistakes finally show up in there results.  Remember when “development” was a big part of there OW decision making???  Suddenly you have an APEX coach and his players are at the top of the roster. This team goes as far as Kariv can take them while covering every hole on the roster. Honestly if this team finishes top 4 with Kariv starting at DPS he’ll deserve OWL MVP.  \
8. Dallas Fuel
I’m very high on them and very low on them at the same time.  Added players, added coaching staff, re commitment to the team on a whole. Schedule change will be huge for them.  New season same problem.  What happens when a projectile meta happens???  They’ll be able to play it but main players who aren’t as good as the bench players will have to play or bench players will have to step into major roles.  Could cause problems with how well they’ll play this season.  Dallas and Seoul need to remember how to win to be successful again.
7. Vancouver Titans
They will have problems.  May it be there org or just how there playing.  They will struggle.  But this team has too much experience and inner support to just fall apart.  Where the org or players fail the fans and team will pick up.   They won’t get this far and go down without a fight. The talent difference will start to show throughout the season but they will overcome it as a team.
6. Los Angeles Gladiators
I got a little down on them but than I remembered how well they play.  The support trio will play well no matter what. Surefour will show up.  Decay and R0ar will show up.  Void should be better this season if they don’t want to play Bischu.  Will win games like they’ve been here before.
5. Philadelphia Fusion
I got a little down on them.  I love what Elk will bring to the team but he’s just a Lucio.  Poko is the only off tank.  When will Eqo run out of talent?  Will they even play Fragi during goats meta?  But they are a force of nature.  Carpe won’t give up.  Much like the Gladiators they’ve been here before and it will show.
4. Hangzhou Spark
I am extremely high on this team.  And also a huge X6 Gaming fan.  Krystal and Godsb (a widow god).  Ria and Nosmite AND Guxue if they want to mix up the main tank role.  I love this roster and its potential.  Mite step into the league like NYXL.
3. Paris Eternal
Maybe I forgot to rank them a few spots ago and just put them here (maybe).  I was very high on France in the OWWC and was a little disappointed.  The roster and staff is fucking stacked to the roof.  From Kruise on Support leading the team, Main tanks Benbest and Lhcloudy, and to the stacked DPS lineup of Soon and Shadowburn.  If OWL ever goes into a Dive meta they will near the top.
2. New York Excelsior
Hmmm.
Hmm.
Could be #1.  They have the roster to go 28-0.  But its 28 games will bigger breaks between games this season.  I like to think that benefits the next team the most.
1. London Spitfire
Back to back champions?  Barely any change to the roster and that’s ok.  The biggest offseason addition was the change to the regular season format.  Strong new teams should challenge London but I knew a few will bow before the world champions.  Look out for a repeat.
Conclusion
I wrote this far too fast and without enough research (LOL I guess).  I’ve watched a lot of Hangzhou Spark players already on X6 Gaming.  We already know how good some of these teams already are.  This is mostly speculation.  And meta shifts could turn this list upside down at any moment.

Thoughts on every owl team
Alright, now that two weeks have passed (currently the match between Vancouver and San Francisco is going on) I want to give my thoughts on every team, and their current performance.
 1. New-York Excelsior. (4-0)
Not much to be said about this team, they are still the best team in the overwatch league. Their team synergy is unmatched, and they are already looking to go undefeated. Nenne was a great addition to be the Zarya in this goats meta. This team is looking to win this stage 1.
2. Vancouver Titans (3-0)
Former Runaway that joined the owl this season. The team itself is good, but as the Charge showed, they have weaknesses. What I do not like about this team are their ego and cocky attitude. I never enjoyed watching any team acting like they are hot shit and that they are the best. Having confidence is one thing, treating your opponents with disrespect is heinous and unsportsmanlike. Will this team is looking good, their very attitude will be their downfall.
3. Paris Eternal (2-0)
This European team is proving that they are one of the strongest when it comes to this meta. Their teamwork well together, and we still need to see if they go head to head against the best of the best of this league.
4. Atlanta Reign (2-1)
The Reign is an interesting one for me. I previously thought that with the inclusion of Dafran, that this team would suffer from one of two things. Either Dafran becomes the XQC of season 2, or they have a similar ego problem to other teams who are currently underperforming. But, seeing a lot of their games, I’ll say this, the Reign, as good as they are, seem to be there for the ride, they are having fun and are great at what they do, So, they are definitely a team to be reckoned with.
5. Seoul Dynasty (2-1)
The Dynasty are looking much better then they did last season. The acquisition of Fissure is a game changer for them, and they might be living up to the hype they had at the start of last season. But, seeing their lost against Fuel, it still feels like this team needs to come together.
6. Toronto Defiant (2-1)
This team is living up to their branding release, everyone is treating them like a subpar team that won’t get to playoffs. While it is still early, Toronto has shown that they are more than capable of being playoff worthy, and they are looking to live up to their name.
7. Chengdu Hunters (2-1)
Just like Toronto, Hunters have been pushed down by casters and analysts for being a subpar team, but they have shown that they are willing to break the meta to rise to the top. They have a long way to go, but, no one should underestimate this team any longer.
8. San-Francisco Shock (1-2)
This team suffers the Titan’s ego. But, contrary to the Titans, the Shock play fairly, they are all about acting like they are the best and look to prove it by treating their opponents fairly. They are looking better than last season, but they are far from being the best.
9. Philadelphia Fusion (2-2)
The runner up to the championship title last year aren’t looking too good, well they never really did until it really mattered. Remember, this was the team that Shanghai brought to map 5 a few times. And just like Jayne said, their goats is bad, and so I do not predict this team to be any good this stage.
10. London Spitfire (2-2)
The championship winners, oh how far you have fallen. You looked horrible at the start of the season, and your goats is....questionable. But, the last two matches have proven they are slowly coming back, but they have a lot of work to do to get into the playoffs.
11. Hangzhou Spark (2-2)
The Spark is interesting to me, they have flair and charisma, and while it might look like the Titan’s ego, it is more confidence in their synergy. They are scrappy and bring their own unique style to overwatch. But, they have a lot of work to do to fix some of their mistake, notably ult management.
12. Dallas Fuel (2-2)
Inconsistent. Both match you lost, you got wiped, and both match you won, you went 3-1. But, they acquisition you’ve made during off season are showing to be amazing. You have the potential to be in the playoffs, and if AKM and Effect’s attitude are anything to go by, you are just looking to have fun and improve, good luck Fuel.
13. Guangzhou Charge. (1-2)
I haven’t watched much of this team, but I know they are one of the two that actually try to go out of the meta. Unfortunately, they didn’t have much success like the Hunters.
14. Boston Uprising (1-2)
This team is...bad. Trading/Transferring a bunch of your players is fine and all, but so far your decisions haven’t really brought results. Hell, your ex main tank gave shanghai it’s first, ever win against YOUR team. Congrats Boston, you will be forever known to be the ultimate fuck up.
15. LA Gladiators. (1-2)
See Boston Uprising. Trading Fissure might have been his wish, but it came to bite you in the ass so fucking badly. And so your team is back to where it was before Fissure.
16. Florida Mayhem (1-2)
Florida is looking much better this season, but they still need to work on some issues before being taken seriously.
17. Shanghai Dragons (1-2)
HOLY SHIT YOU’VE WON!!!
In all seriousness though, Gamsu was a godsend to your team, his second game and he gave your team the first ever Shanghai win. It’s a sweet, sweet victory, and Gamsu looks so much happier with you than he ever did in his time in Boston. You have a lot of work ahead of you, but you can only go up from here.
18. Washington Justice (0-2)
I don’t know how to feel about this team, their main tank looks good...I think? There must be a reason NYXL was willing to let him go. I’m going to be honest, I have no faith in this team, they...don’t look good.
19. Houston Outlaws. (1-3)
This is the third, and worst team that has the Titan’s ego. Except, they can’t prove jack shit. From Jake apparently taunting the enemy in the chat during matches, to Muma screaming he is the best main tank in the world on stream, only to get his cheeks’ clapped, Houston is fucking horrible. The reason why I’m so fucking mad at this team is that they can’t recognize how bad they are, and neither can their fans. Let Danteh play sombra and tracer, let Spree play Zarya, and for fuck’s sake fire Rawkus and his endless feeding ass already!
20. (0-3)
The once underdogs of the league are not what they were once were, they... well bad. However, their match against the Spark and Defiant show that they can be at the top, and really, their score don’t do them justice. There is...one glaring issue with this team, Fate. Fate and Space were one of the best tank duos last season, what happened? Fate looks like he’s throwing all the time, he’s always the first to die, he almost wastes his shatter every time he has it. I’m...disapointed, Valiant used to be my team last season, and it’s heartbreaking to see VALLA fall so quickly.

OWL Predictions (4/18)
New York Excelsior 4-0 Philadelphia Fusion
These teams played off at the beginning of the stage and the match was the same result. I have seen nothing from Philadelphia in between that time that shows me they can complete with NYXL now. It just sucks that they they have to play them twice in a stage.
San Francisco Shock 4-0 Toronto Defiant
San Francisco have been successfully clearing out their competition ever since the end of Stage 1. Toronto just got 4-0 swept by the Fuel, and the Shock is even better than the Fuel. im37 will look good on whatever hitscan they allow him to play despite the 4-0 sweep.
Florida Mayhem 0-4 LA Gladiators
I hate to predict so many 4-0 sweeps, but that’s what happens when the the top 4 teams are all playing in the same day. LA Gladiators did not look as solid against Valiant, but the Mayhem are at the bottom of the leaderboard and things do not look up when you have to play the Gladiators a week after being swept by New York.
Vancouver Titans 2-3 Dallas Fuel
I know I know bold prediction, but I gotta give hope to my favorite team. It is not just bias that makes me feel it’s possible though. OGE has looked insane recently with the addition of Note on the team. The flexibility that Note brings in too makes it look like a new Dallas team. It’s probably a long shot, but if Dallas was ever gonna beat Vancouver, it would be today with the momentum they have coming into this

Q: What do you think before starting the game? M: I usually think pretty simply - I think about the practice that we done, all the strategies we came up with and how we work as a team on stage for the matches. That’s what I think before I start the game.
Q: If you could go anywhere in the world all expenses paid, where would you travel? M: I really like beautiful beaches- I really want to go to places with a beautiful beach. Boracay (Philippines), I really want to go there.
Q: If you could spend a day with one of the OW heroes, who would it be and why? M: Tracer - because I often use tracer a lot when I’m playing games and I don’t think I have any reasons other than that.
Q: If you could have a home in any Overwatch map, where would you live? M: I would have to go with Kings Row because the night scenery for that map is very, very beautiful
Q: Do you have any hobbies outside of gaming? M: After coming to LA- I really enjoy shopping, or going to movies or hanging out with other players on the Overwatch team. Q: Any players you’re close to? M: Gido
Q: How does your family feel about being a professional gamer on OWL? M: When I first started as a pro gamer, my parents couldn’t believe it since I was a regular kid who just loved gaming. And now I think things are still the same. They don’t really treat me any differently. Q: But do you think your parents are more proud of you now? M: Actually my father is actually sort of  more proud me that I’m a pro gamer. Because I hear when he goes to work he shows his coworkers and friends that I’m a pro-gamer.
Q: What about Overwatch made you want to play, and eventually go pro? M: I’ve actually really wanted to become a pro-gamer since I was very little. I always wanted to pursue that route- and I’ve always loved gaming- but it was a little bit hard- but after starting overwatch I was able to make that dream come true.
Q: Which hero is your favourite hero to see on your team and why? M: I would have to choose Widow because Fleta on Seoul Dynasty is a very very talented Widowmaker. So when he uses Widow, our team could actually trust him and play our game.
Q: What is the pro-player life like? M: Since it was my dream to become a pro player, I actually really really love- I’m really thankful for this career. But at the same time after becoming a pro-player- it’s not as easy as it seems or as I thought. .
Q: What is the highlight of your OWL Career? M: If I have to choose- when we were fighting against LAG (Stage 3)-- Fleta was out of that game because of some health problems- so I had to go in as Widow and I played really well.
Q: You seem to be a real good friend with NYXL’s Jjonak- is there any other players you’re close with? M: Carpe and Meko I’m really close with. Q: How did you guys get close? M: So I actually have a lot of players from other teams I’m close with and the reason why I’m close with them is because some of the players- we used to play on the same team before the league started and we’re all gamers so we play a lot of games together- that’s how we got close.
Q: How did you get the name Munchkin and why the number 27? M: Before using the name munchkin, I used to go with the name called Roadly (?) - there was a time I had to change my username. My older brothers,my friends and my peers told me to use Munchkin. Number 27 is from my birthday- I was born on March 27- so that’s why I went with 27 Q: What did you do on your birthday? M:For my birthday, it was not too long ago- I actually had a lot of good food- I ate some cakes, hung out with my friends and I had a great time.
Q: What do you think your spirit animal is, and why? M: I actually never thought about this- But if I were to come up with a spirit animal right now- the spirit animal would be Munchkin- there’s a cat called Munchkin. It kind of goes with my name and everything so I’d go with thee Munchkin.
Q: Who is your favourite non DPS Hero to play? M: I would choose Zarya because it’s kind of a hit-scan hero and not. Which is why I really like to use Zarya.
Q: What is your favourite thing about being in Los Angeles (if anything)? M: Very fresh air- and I really like how LA has KoreaTown. I often go to K-town on the weekends when I have spare time.
Q: Do you love anime? M: Yes- I actually watch a lot of anime since middle school. Q: Fave? M: One Piece!
Q: Who’s your favourite teammate? M: It’s really hard to say because I’m really close to all the teammates - but if I had to say- I’d go with Gido.
Q: Who is your favourite player in OWL to fight against? M: Instead of a favourite- I want to choose a player who’s very meaningful to fight against. Which is Carpe- I really look up to him and I consider him as one of the best OWL players.
Q: Thoughts about Pineapples on Pizza? M: I actually really love it. (Hawaiian?) So whenever I get pizza I always ask them to get pizza that has pineapple on it.
Last Words from  Munchkin: “So first and foremost thank you to all our fans for your love and support. I know this season, we haven’t done a lot of dominant plays and we’ve had a little bit of struggles here and there. But we’ll continue to practice and try harder to show better performance, better games moving on into the next season as well.”

Tumblr media
well, i’ve discovered a number of things so far. the first thing is that it has become incredibly difficult to keep up with social media with my current schedule, and the second thing is that out of the three social medias, i think i neglect tumblr and youtube the most.
i think the reason for that is because i tend to use my phone most for my social media platforms, and mobile tumblr is sketchy af (but we all know that anyways). also, it takes time to make videos which i may not necessarily have. so, my apologies in advance for all of my social media lapses and absences.
the thing is: as much as i love making content and doing the things that i enjoy, i’ve come to realize that the fun just… drains out of it when you feel like you’re required to do it. the same for goes for school; i love to learn, but i dislike the pressure that the rules and grades and peers set around me. i think that i’ve done the same thing to myself for social media. i’ve started to think along the lines of having “perfect” pictures and “perfect” videos and “perfect” posts all the time. if it’s not good enough, then it gets trashed immediately.
i’ve been struggling through three video files: one for how i write my math notes, one for an updated handwriting video, and one for a “vlog / study with me” overview of january. there are the typical troubles: video clips from my phone aren’t converting nicely or being transferred over to my computer, adobe premiere pro shuts down randomly, and i forget to save. but also, there’s that incessant voice in the back of my mind telling me to start posting and start uploading before you disappoint the thousands of people out there.
as for tumblr, it’s just that i constantly forget to send my photos from my phone to my computer because i detest using tumblr on mobile.
and it’s this mindset that i’ve been living with for the past couple of months. and i’ve realized that it’s so incredibly bad for me. i shouldn’t put this imaginary pressure on myself to get the idealized content out there. i still feel absolutely shitty for not doing the things that i said i would do on time, but the fact is: i am only human and this is not my official job. i need to stop beating myself over something like this.
don’t get me wrong: i still adore chatting with you all, and i love making creative content. i just need to remove the pressurized atmosphere that i create for myself about and around social media.
looking back, i think that i’ve made a lot of progress. i left behind my mentality around follower / note / like count a couple years ago, and that’s been incredibly relieving. i guess i’ll be waiting for the relief to come around for this thing too.
i’ve been posting a lot less edited photos in instagram and posting whatever i want with it. i’m trying to keep up the work, but this weekend, i just let my video files go and decided to restart instead of trying to salvage it for the fifth time. it feels like a breath of burning, fresh air, and i still feel a lot of regret over it. but it’s better. i’m getting better about it.
on a side note: i’ve been doing terribly in terms of remembering to feed myself on time. i’ve been sleeping more consistently at an earlier time, but tbh, midnight is not early (but earlier than 2 am). my skin has broken out terribly after trying out the ordinary’s niacinamide serum. but!! i’ve been having fun watching the overwatch league matches, especially nyxl, london spitfire, and seoul dynasty teams. i’ve been drinking more water, and i’ve cleaned my room a lot more often which is keeping my mind clear and tidier? i’ve had some good laughs this month too.
hope you all have been doing well since the last time we chatted :”) i cannot thank you enough for your love and support. school is stressful as always, but when is it not? i hope that you’re doing okay in terms of life and stress and everything else. take care!
love, seo ♡

interesting things from tactical crouch’s interview w toronto assistant coach/analyst barroi on 1/19
barroi talks about why the team failed last year, the atmosphere/coaching of the new team, beast and nevix and why he believes in them, and the meta. [link to the full podcast]
on why the team failed last year
team atmosphere was biggest problem which lead to stellar retiring, tried to "better" atmosphere by trading envy to shanghai. going mixed roster didnt improve atmosphere and it just spiraled
Said toronto was beating everyone in scrims in stage 1, barroi thought they were a 4th place team and just got unlucky w getting shock in playoffs. Emphasized this several times during the podcast
team wasnt built for atmosphere, "long-term sustainability," was built to perform well but exploded "sooner than expected" and they HAD to make changes which was where they made bad decisions and it spiraled.
biggest thing he learned was coaching was all abt psychology, keeping morale up, small things to do to keep everything working, learned its HUGELY important
last season toronto's structure wasnt as great as it is this year
barroi was part of the roster building, thinks building a roster the way they did will always fail
implied toronto scrimmed way way too much last year and burned everybody out
noted specifically that ivy was nervous onstage even in later games
on the new team’s atmosphere/chemistry:
new team made for morale and high team atmosphere, all personalities will mesh well. that was the most important thing and its been working insanely well. everyones not best friends but its working well.
happy with the players and environment they have, thinks adding an extra element might disturb that not in current plans to add anyone else. they are thinking abt contingency plans tho, have plans in case of emergencies
some competitiveness in the roster, but not a high level. Doesnt like the idea of an a and b roster bc every day is a high pressure environment where the better squad will start
Toronto scrims 2 blocks a day 6 days a week. do 3 blocks sometimes but not every day. def lower than highest hours of scrims in the league since some teams do 3 blocks a day.
when asked if fefe drives the coaches/players differently responded with "YES."
fefe is rly good at motivating people, rly knows how to "get to people." may not be the biggest brain but knows his stuff and knows how to create a good environment. "hell of a difference" compared to last season (sounds like drama w bishop to me!)
everyone in coaching staff has their own role, like a venn diagram, bc of how specific their structure is. everything is really efficient
there's never been any discipline things on toronto yet, theres rules for scrims but no ones broken any of them yet
doesnt think toronto is gonna be a top 5 team. thinks maintaining a top roster + taking team psychology into account is very difficult
its possible that toronto could hit a really high high, but its a low possibility
last season barroi was worried abt pressure on stage bc everyone was silent, atmosphere was different, is not at all worried now. thinks the team drives itself very well, points to kariv and beast as motivators and nevix and logix as people who will never perform bad under pressure
on beast and nevix
beast is a huge motivator and a really fun guy for the team, keeping the team atmosphere up. has a huge competitive drive, learns REALLY fast and takes any and all feedback. theyre putting more and more emphasis on beast's role and more responsiblities bc theyre really satisfied w how he performs and learns. thinks beast is a very good pick for them
people on roster were chosen for specific reasons, beast was chosen bc he's super competitive.
beast is kind of person where having a backup mt would motivate him even more, he wouldnt shut down if he was benched he would fight for the starting spot
nevix is "not the best player in the world" (in response to reddit saying he is the best player in the world). has been a good asset to the team, goes to the coaches/teammates most w questions. rly wants to prove himself
on the meta
in scrims sometimes offtank plays orisa now since mt is playing something else
"2 big archetypes" everyone is running in scrims. poke and rush comps. rush is reaper/mei/orisa/rein/lucio moira/bap. poke is mei hanzo, dif flex sups, orisa, no lucio. variation within those comps but its only those 2. the comps play very differently despite having similar heroes bc of dif win conditions and styles. poke is map dependant, wins over rush when speedboost cant close gap fast enough. theres not a core meta comp thats as ridiculous as goats, tho rush is similar to goats.
teams playing junk, widow, probably double sniper, more diverse than past but again 2 archetypes of comps. running one or the other is very team/style dependant, for instance shock is probably sticking to rush and nyxl is probably sticking to poke based on their histories. wont talk abt what toronto runs
dive is map dependant, not smth you want to do all the time bc the other two comps are very good, rush is a natural counter to dive. doesnt sound like hes scrimmed dive comps often. sees dive having a place and being good at times but thinks its very team and map dependant. map and team both have to be good for it for it to work. dive is not the third archetype. if you have a good sombra vs poke, dive could work but was kinda like /shrug
havent scrimmed any teams in asia, which makes sense
thinks this season is exciting bc of scrim bubbles, nobody knows whats happening on other regions. each bubble conforms to one thing, may be different may not be, one may be superior but nobodys gonna know til they play each other.
yiska thinks theres gonna be some wild meta diversity since some teams have long breaks and can afford to grind out new comps, also bc there will be patches
misc things i thought were worth including
theres a german player coming to owl who hasnt been announced
apparently not a lot of other teams have that kind of good structure. Also mentioned that toronto’s scrimming outlaws
yiska brought up the csgo(?) team moscow 5 as an example of how the best teams can crumble completely and become bad under the stress of travel
roky is the person who grinds ranked most on the team, nevix is 2nd
barroi thinks defiant will place better than 13 (in response to tactical crouch thinking theyll place 13th), things would have to go “seriously wrong” for them to place lower. Thinks theyll have a strong first half and is sure if they do that the 2nd half will be even better. Convinced theyll at least make playins
barroi thinks chengdu will do fairly well especially w the scrim bubbles. Thinks they’ll be one place below defiant maybe.
difference between coaching completely mixed roster and a 1 language roster, dont have to put as much emphasis on making sure everyone understands each other. depends mainly on the philosophy of the head coach, which changed so its different. probably the same without the head coach factor tho

Now I’m Gonna hit you with a barrage of names (cuz i’m curious) so get your fingers on that keyboard ready! Ryujehong, Miro, Tobi, Fleta, Surefour, Taimou, Jjonak, Fissure, Carpe, Profit, Shadowburn, and Poko!
Ryujehong
Alright, boys, hands down. Jehong was the reason I got into OWL to begin with. He was the first pro I looked up to because his Ana is so amazing. Seriously, I absolutely love his Ana. His performance on Lunatic-Hai was also great, so yeah. I was actually a little surprised to see that he’s a little bit like the team dad for Dynasty (mostly bc he’s the oldest member if I remember correctly- and bc he’s the team captain)! Honestly, I’m actually a little bit conflicted which golden weapon I should get next since I kinda want D.Va’s golden weapons (because of Mickie) but at the same time also want Ana’s rifle because of Jehong.
Miro
Honestly, I may or may not prefer Kuki to him. I might actually prefer Kuki to all of Dynasty’s tank players but nonetheless, I love me some Miro plays. Miro has a really lovable face, actually. It screams “Winston player” for some reason and I really don’t mean it in a bad way. I just look at him and go “Yeah, that man looks like he plays the monkey.” He’s extremely fun to watch but on the other hand I probably have a short list of tank players in the league that I find even more enjoyable to spectate, one of them being Fissure- but we’ll get to Fissure later, haha.
Tobi
I loved seeing him play Mercy in stage 1. I know, he’s known to be a Lúcio (and Torb) main and that he wasn’t all too comfortable on the Mercy. I’m happy that he gets to play his frog man more now. Supports are usually my favorite players on any team, and that statement is very true when it comes to the Seoul Dynasty roster. I hope Tobi will still see as much playtime as he does right now after Gambler can actually play on stage, though. Oh, I almost forgot to mention that Tobi posts a lot of aesthetically pleasing selfies on his Instagram. Just a fun fact, lmao.
Fleta
Pew pew! Fleta on that Widow. Fleta on that Genji. Fleta on that– this guy, man. This guy just pops off all the time. Hero pool? Enormous. Quality of gameplay? Damn high. I respect Fleta for being such an amazing DPS player. Puts him on my list of favorite players in general even though he doesn’t play my favored role. I get so see him play so much during the matches (due to the stream usually showing DPS players more than others) and hell, boy. He never disappoints me.
Surefour
Hair game too strong, man. I like Surefour but again, DPS players aren’t really my cup of tea. He got me rooting for the Gladiators alongside Bischu and Hydration but honestly, I’m sometimes a little bit “eh” on him. I don’t know.
Taimou
Ugh, Taimou. Not a fan of him. One of the reasons I had restraints to support the Fuel. He often came off as toxic in the past but as I see things at the moment, he’s bettered himself. Gives me hope that xQc will also find a way to make life easier for a Dallas Fuel fan because as of right now I feel inclined to keep my support for the team way more subtle than I want it to be. Regardless of his personality, I have to respect his Widowmaker because hooooonestly, I respect every Widow player in the league. Those guys could snipe me from across the map lmao.
Jjonak
One of my favorite support players (even though he’s second to Ark on NYXL) especially on Zenyatta. He makes solid plays, does a great job supporting his team and that’s about it. Jjonak definitely gets the “Toki fucking loves support players” bonus.
Fissure
FISSURE MY BABY– LA Gladiators don’t deserve him. He is SO FUCKING GOOD. Did you see his moves in the last Dynasty vs Gladiators match? He definitely got the short end when he got transfered from Spitfire. First he doesn’t get playtime on a team he used to play with for so fucking long and then he has to go to one of the objectively worse teams there are? I understand that he wasn’t happy about that transfer. He deserved better.
Carpe
Carpe is probably the best ladder player in the world but doesn’t seem too comfortable in a pro league setting. It happens, man. I still love seeing him play. He is- admittedly- one of two players for whom I actually sit down and watch the Fusion matches.
Profit
Profit’s plays fucking pay me, alright? He’s not only cute but also extremely skilled and he’s my favorite player on Spitfire only second to Birdring (well, he was my 3rd most favorite player on Spitfire when Rascal was still on the team). It takes a lot for me to prefer DPS over support players but damn, keep it up, man.
Shadowburn
In context of the Seagull ask I answered, Shadowburn is my preferred Genji player. I was probably only more drawn to him because of his edgy as fuck name but he is actually really charming. I adore his playstyle and his love for dogs. Seeing him smile for once makes me feel happy, to be fucking honest because Shadowburn is like the master of pokerfaces. I hold him in high regards and I really hope his team will do great things.
Poko
Gotta catch them all, Poko-mon. Great D.Va player. His ult game is way too strong, dude. Like, c’mon. The way he places his ults is fucking goals and you know it. You know it. Other than that, I don’t have a strong opinion on him. He just exists in my mind somewhere.

I still enjoy playing Overwatch.
Much of how I think about and analyze the game has changed since open beta over 2 years ago.  And here are some of the things that I have had to realize:
Never assume it is the fault of the rest of my team.  Nothing I do is perfect, so I have no place in blaming the rest of my team for a lost point or match.  The one thing I can control is how I play, and I have to make adjustments to my own play style.  Most of the time, I found that team fights are won better by supporting the rest of my team, even while playing as DPS.
No matter how good, my team will still lose games.  The winner of each match is the team that makes fewer errors.  Even look at the best teams in Overwatch League, who are seemingly the top teams in the world.  London Spitfire lost most of their matches halfway through the season, but came back and won the championship.  NYXL won 2/4 stages and won the most matches out of every team in the league, but lost in the semifinals.  The perceived best can still lose, and the perceived losers can still win.  It’s all a matter of who makes fewer mistakes when it really matters.
Phrasing.  Just the manner by which I say words in team chat have a huge impact on how the rest of my team functions.  There are plenty of resources out there regarding positive team chat, so look them up if you need help with this.  If my team lacks a certain hero, I will ask, “Is it possible for us to play [hero name]?”  “Can anybody here play [hero name] comfortably?”  This is far better than asking, “Soldier, can you swap to D.Va,” because that statement is based on the assumptions that:
The Soldier was not performing his job well enough to support the team during fights
The person asking Soldier to switch heroes knows better than the Soldier player
The person asking Soldier to switch heroes knows that the Soldier player can, in fact, play D.Va to the same skill level as in the current match
And these assumptions are not necessarily true.  Maybe the Soldier player wants to work on his mechanics or positioning.  Maybe the Soldier player wants to test their skills that they learned and apply them in Competitive.  If he wanted to switch to D.Va, he would have done so if I had posed the question, “Can anybody here play D.Va comfortably,” because if I ask directly if he can swap, he will take those assumptions in mind and is likely to feel offended from those assumptions that are loaded into that question.
Performing my role.  I learned super early on as a Mercy main that healing the team and damage boosting teammates has a far higher chance of winning team fights over pulling out my pistol and fighting the enemy.  Mercy’s mechanics demands that she only perform one thing at a time: heal, damage boost, or fire projectiles using her pistol.  Any second that is spent on using the pistol in team fights on full-health targets is a second of healing that is not going into a teammate who has better positioning and better damage output than Mercy does. This is especially true of using Valkyrie during team fights: if I initiate Valkyrie, my team knows to play together because they know that they will all receive chained healing and damage boosting for the next 15 seconds.  However, if they hear me use Valkyrie and they go into the team fight while I try to use my pistol to take down a Pharah who is currently pocketed by the enemy Mercy, my team is not receiving the healing that I could provide to all five of them.  For each second, they will be losing out on 60 health (soon to be 50 health per second), up to a possible 900 healing (soon to be 750) across my teammates.  Most characters are 200 HP, so just a few seconds of concentrated fire from the enemy will likely remove at least one of them from the fight.  If I had provided healing to them instead of trying to fight the Pharah one-on-two, they could all survive together and remove the Pharah for me, or at least zone her out of the team fight. The point here is to perform my role as Mercy: to provide as much healing as possible to my teammates.  Damage boost when they are full health and dealing damage.  Only use my pistol when there is nobody else around to heal or damage boost.  The same goes for any other character: As Reinhardt, use the shield to protect teammates.  Use hammer only as a tool, not a weapon.  Reserve the charge ability for very specific targets, and not directly into the enemy team.  Perform each action with purpose, and not just to be power-hungry and make a big play.
