We were too close to the stars
Tumblr media Tumblr media
mina fidges with the hem of her sweater, chaeyoung sits next to her on the balcony of their dorm.
mina's mind is full with thoughts, those type of thoughts that keep her awake at night, just like today.
her plan was to be alone, to enjoy the fresh air on the small balcony that has a faint smell of cigarettes (or weed, she doesn't ask chaeyoung what exactly she smokes).
chaeyoung joining her on the balcony in the depth of the night though, that was not planned.
maybe this is even the worst thing to happen, because this does not go according to her plan at all.
instead of leaving the cold, and returning to the warmth, mina stays.
instead of finding love in someone else, and being in love with chaeyoung, mina finds love in chaeyoung.
what's the difference between chaeyoung and the cold anyway?
both make you suffer more and more as time passes.
but mina still decides to stay.
if she decides on her own, is another question.
she is rather forced too, not being able to leave her.
it's not like chaeyoung forces her, oh no, chaeyoung problably wouldn't even care.
"he kissed me" she says, breaking the silence, breaking mina's overthinking (she doesn't know if she should thankful for that).
mina looks at chaeyoung blowing out the smoke from her cigarette.
"he kissed you?" mina repeats, it pains her to say it outloud.
"mhm" she gives a short answer.
"did you.. did you like it?" mina asks, voice shivering a little. she hopes that chaeyoung thinks it's because of the cold weather.
"yeah" she gives another short answer, again, and mina's heart aches - again.
"he took me out to dinner, it was so sweet" chaeyoung elaborates.
this is maybe the worst time for chaeyoung to elaborate on something.
"you were never gonna choose me, were you?" mina asks out of nowhere.
chaeyoung looks at her confused, a quiet "what do you mean" leaves her lips with the smoke from her cigarette.
"all those years, i somehow try to make you fall in love with me, all those years, i tried loving other people so i would finally be able to leave you" mina starts talking, some people would even call it rambling, maybe it was finally time to let everything out.
"i had so many moments thinking, oh im alright again, but i always want you when i'm finally fine" she adds.
chaeyoung puts her almost finished cigarette out.
"mina,
you know i don't like girls" she answers.
"i know" mina says.
"and i still can't seem to ever let you go"
she tries to take a deep breath, tries to calm down a little.
hope is a thing with feathers,
"i just wish you would"
in mina's case though,
"i wish i was that stupid boy"
it isn't able to fly anymore.

After Chaeyoung hadn't stopped sneezing and blowing her nose since she arrived soaking wet from the rain the previous afternoon, they decided that canceling their Sunday date would be the best option. Their visit to the botanical park has now been replaced by a day at home watching movies. The exam period is coming, so it was reasonable to make Chaeyoung stay at home so she doesn’t get worse. It takes them some time to decide, as the younger one felt guilty because they had already bought tickets, but Mina manages to convince her girlfriend to stay on the couch with a blanket, tea and a box of tissues beside her while she goes out to buy medicine, her favorite snacks and some ingredients to make miso soup.
"I'll take good care of you" is the last thing she says before kissing Chaeyoung’s lips and leaving the apartment.
She would be lying if she said she isn’t surprised to see that when she's back in their apartment, her girlfriend is still in the same place where she left her half an hour ago, only now she has a book in her hand instead of the mug of tea that now sits empty on the living room table. As Chaeyoung focuses on her book, she places everything she got in the kitchen and grabs her Nintendo to continue building and decorating her Animal Crossing island on the other side of the couch. Moments like this are the favorites for both of them, they just need each other's company as they spend time enjoying their hobbies in a comfortable silence.
They are both introverts who enjoy spending time at home playing video games, reading, drawing, writing, assembling Lego sets or watching movies. It's something they've always enjoyed separately, and since Chaeyoung accepted Mina's proposal to move into her apartment, it's become something they do together. Now, across the room, across the couch or using the other Nintendo Switch controller, they have someone with whom they share playful glances, smiles, exchange thoughts, talk about their days at work or college, about lives or share their problems. In moments like these, they just need to feel each other's presence. For them to be in silence doing their own thing while intertwining their legs under the blanket doesn't feel much different from a date outside in a nice place.
It's these things that make Mina wonder if they'll always feel this way or if it's a passing thing that will end when she gets used to living with Chae. Meanwhile, on the other side of the couch, Chaeyoung underlines the sentences in the book that remind her of Mina and thinks that she stay in this moment all her life without ever getting tired of seeing Mina in front of her focus on her videogames with the tip of her tongue sticking out, concentrating on the game, just like she does when she cooks a new recipe or when she prepares some presentation for work.
An hour later, Chae puts the book away, takes off her glasses and holds the bridge of her nose with two fingers "I can't focus, I have a headache" she complains, making Mina sit up immediately "Let me get you a glass of water so you can take a painkiller". Chaeyoung gestures for her to get back to sit with her. "Don't worry, I think I just need to get some sleep" she says as her girlfriend looks at her with a doubtful face "I promise I'll take it if my headache doesn't go away" she replies, earning an indulgent smile from Mina.
As soon as her girlfriend falls asleep on the couch she goes to the kitchen to make some miso soup, lunch for both of them and looks up movie recommendations on her phone while waiting for the water to start boiling. And of course, tea is a must.
It seems that sleep was good for Chae because when she wakes up, she seems to be in a better mood and even a bit more talkative, so they spend lunch talking about what movie they should watch. When they’re done, Mina takes care of clearing the table and cleaning the dishes despite Chaeyoung's refusal when her girlfriend tells her to brush her teeth and go back to the couch.
"Mina-chan!" she whines. "It's just a cold, don't treat me like I'm dying. Let me help you."
"Your exams are coming up and you and I both know that if you get sick now, you'll only be more anxious because you won't be able to do as much as you'd like. At least one of us has to be responsible" Mina says, giving her a scolding look, and Chaeyoung has no choice but to nod her head and follow her directions.
Mina doesn't have to explain herself for her girlfriend to get the message since the cold is due more to Chaeyoung being careless than to the sudden rain of the previous day. In the morning, when the gray clouds covered the Seoul sky and didn't let even a ray of sunshine show, they both commented that good rains were on the way and they hoped that at least it wouldn't be so heavy as to spoil their Sunday date. Exactly that date in which both should now be holding hands, smelling the fragrance of the flowers and taking a thousand photos and maybe, in the case of the art student, doing some sketches or drawings. And despite this, and despite Mina's recommendations, Chaeyoung decided to go out without an umbrella, arguing that her new raincoat would be more than enough and that, unlike the umbrella, it would not ruin her outfit. But in case that hadn’t been enough, for when she arrived completely wet down to her socks and even clothes under her raincoat when Mina reprimanded her for not having listened to her, the younger girl explained that in fact it wasn’t because she wasn’t carrying an umbrella but because she, Dahyun and Tzuyu decided to run and dance in the rain when they left the library after an intense studying session.
Knowing that her girlfriend's two best friends were involved, she wasn’t surprised by what happened. Separately, Tzuyu and Chaeyoung are quite quiet, introverted and they rather go unnoticed, but if they get together with Dahyun nothing good can happen. Apparently in one of their classes this week, a teacher lectured them about youth, art and living life, which inspired them enough for them to spend at least an hour in the rain several days later in the middle of a storm.
Considering what happened, she wasn't going to take Mina's point away, but that's not going to stop her from complaining. "Oh come on, it's a silly cold" she snorts and before she can continue speaking, she sneezes so hard that her glasses fall off. "Okay, but don't take long" she relents.
When the dishes are clean, dry and in place, Mina returns to her side of the couch and gets ready to watch the movie, but she doesn't put it on, so she looks away from the TV and when she turns her head, she meets the huge expressive eyes of her girlfriend, who looks at her like a like a kicked puppy. She laughs softly and shifts her posture to lie down behind her and be the big spoon. It’s then when her girlfriend considers pressing the play button.
Only ten minutes pass until Chaeyoung says "The movie was recommended by Nayeon-unnie, it's probably good. I didn't know she studied film in college" she says, to which Mina simply hums as she concentrates on what the characters are saying and what the subtitles say, as there are parts in Japanese that she doesn't want her girlfriend to miss. Occasionally, Mina whispers in her ear some of the lines or words that she feels are oversimplified in the subtitles, but it's still Chae who keeps talking the whole time. She describes what happened in the scene as if they weren't watching the same thing, comments on how neat the costumes are, talks about how beautiful she thinks the composition is, suddenly switches to the Japanese occupation in which the story is set, asks about something she doesn't have time to read, laughs when she realizes that just like the protagonists, one of them is Korean and the other one is Japanese, she then clarifies that in this case it is the Korean who has to learn Japanese... and Mina starts to be slightly annoyed.
She’s a person who enjoys silence and is easily overwhelmed by too much noise or loud voices, like when they get together with their other seven friends and there are a lot of conversations going on at the same time. She knows it's something she needs to keep working on, but if anything, a red line for her is people talking while watching series or movies. Just like her beloved girlfriend is doing right now, who doesn't seem to pick up on the little interest her rambling receives, being answered only with monosyllables, short sentences and humming. They have been watching the movie for a while now and she’s squirming in her seat because of the discomfort and her urge to say or do something about it. her urge to get it over with is interrupted when she remembers that the girl in her arms is sick and what she needs right now is more care, the least she can do is listen to her thoughts and concerns. Even if she has decided to share them right while they are watching a movie in each other's arms.
Just when the scene in which the protagonists share a moment of intimacy comes and takes Mina's breath away, Chaeyoung speaks and it takes all of Mina’s will to restrain herself and take a deep breath until she hears what her girlfriend has to say now. "Mina-chan, don't move away; it's cold."
And that's when Mina puts all the pieces together and moves her hand to her girlfriend's forehead. As expected, it's quite warm compared to hers and then she leans down to place her lips on her girlfriend's forehead, who without quite knowing what Mina's intentions are, smiles in anticipation of a kiss on her forehead.  "Baby, you have a fever" she says softly. "Pause the movie. I'll get the thermometer and some medicine." That's certainly not what Chae, who now had her eyes closed ready to receive the next kiss on her lips, expected to hear. Mina can't help but laugh at the sight before her, but she quickly gets up to get everything she needs from the kitchen and bathroom. After a year of dating her, she should know better.
Luckily, there haven't been many times when one has had to take care of the other while they were sick, but enough times that Mina knows that Chaeyoung starts talking non-stop when her fever starts to rise. It's something that will always make her giggle, it's an odd trait that she finds adorable. "Was I talking that much?" Chae aks to her girlfriend, realizing what's going on, to which Mina nods and chuckles. "I was about to lose it" admits the older one, making her girlfriend blush. "Sorry, I didn't realize" she apologizes and Mina shakes her head as she gets up to grab the thermometer and a couple of other things.
"Here" she says as she returns with the thermometer the box of pills, a sachet of vitamins and a glass of water. "You should uncover for a while, Chaeyoungnie" she says, using a soft voice as she tries to take the blanket she is wrapped in, but her girlfriend grabs it and looks at her with a pout "But I'm so cold". Mina laughs softly "Yesterday you didn't seem to be bothered by the cold, come on, let’s get the thermometer on you".
Mina wasn't mistaken, the thermometer after five minutes reads 39°C, and the first thing she does is pull the blanket aside this time for real and go get a towel. After taking the medicine, they play the movie back on and now that Chae is starting to feel worse, it’s no longer being interrupted by her ramblings, but by all the times Mina has to get up from the couch to re-wet the towel, until she checks her temperature again and it has dropped a few tenths of a degree. Before the movie is over, Chaeyoung falls asleep. She has replaced the blankets with her girlfriend and now is curled up resting her head in the crook of her neck, she warms her hands under the older one's t-shirt and has one of her legs between hers. Mina, now unable to move and not knowing where the remote is, ends up watching the movie alone until the last word of the credits because she finds it impossible to wake her girlfriend when she is sleeping peacefully in her arms.
Fifteen minutes have passed — maybe thirty or an hour — at this point she doesn't even know and she decides it's time to go to bed. She carefully separates her body from her girlfriend's and whispers sweet nothings, trying to wake her up. "Chaeyoungnie, let's go to bed" she whispers for the tenth time and this time she finally gets a "Hmm?" but nothing else, so she decides to take charge of the situation and gets up to pick up her girlfriend until she sees the restrained smile on her face that ends up giving her away. "You're awake! Come on, let's go to bed." Chaeyoung shakes her head and uses her sick privilege, and those eyes with which she gets anything from Mina, and asks her to carry her to their bed.
It doesn't take long for them to fall asleep, but at some ungodly hour of the night, the younger one doesn't stop moving and shivering, thus waking up the older one. Still asleep, with her eyes half open and the dim light coming through the window, she gropes her girlfriend's forehead to check her temperature and when she notices the hairs of her bangs soaked in sweat, she sits up right away and looks again for the thermometer and the towel. This time it reaches 40°C so she immediately uncovers her and places the towel on her forehead, also cooling her face and neck down making her shiver and whimper. "Mina-chan?" she asks with her eyes closed as she doesn’t have enough energy to open them. "I'm here. Your fever is up again, but don't worry. Try to sleep; I'll take care of you" she reassures her and when she sees her weakly nod her head, she caresses her face gently and runs her fingers through Chaeyoung's sweaty hair.
That's how she spent the rest of the night, cuddling her girlfriend, wetting the towel with cold water from time to time and checking the temperature, which didn’t drop below 38ºC all night long. Between one thing and another, she has had time to drink two coffees and has taken the laptop to get ahead of work, knowing that it is best to spend the day with her in case she has to take her to the doctor. When dawn breaks, Mina writes an email to her company informing them she won’t be able to attend work today, she presses enter and listens to the beep of the thermometer, checking that the temperature has finally dropped. She places the laptop on her bedside table, takes off her glasses, deactivates the alarm on her phone and finally lets herself fall asleep.
The sun finishes rising, illuminating the entire room, this time it is Chaeyoung who wakes up. Beside her, she finds her girlfriend with noticeable bags under her eyes, her glasses and laptop beside her just like when she suffers from insomnia. This time, she’s also holding the towel with which she has been using on her forehead all night long. Although the image melts Chaeyoung's heart, she can't help but feel a pang of guilt at the thought that her girlfriend has had to spend the night awake taking care of her because of her poor choices. Soon, the guilt is replaced by the warmth she feels in her chest as she looks at her girlfriend, thinking how grateful and loved she is. After a year together, she still finds it hard to believe that a person like Mina is in love. And not only in love but willing to love her even more with the hairs of her bangs sticking to her forehead from the cold sweat of fever, or like that time when, after finishing her sculpture project, she suffered a contracture and had to help her bathe for five days, or when she drank so much with her unnies that she spent half the night vomiting with her head stuck in the toilet while Mina held her hair and just like today, she then prepared miso soup for her on each of those occasions. According to her, it works to cure everything.
With a smile on her lips, she carefully strokes Mina's hair and covers her with the blanket as she feels her cold skin making her wake up. "Take the medicine. I'll make you some breakfast in a little while, give me five minutes" she hears her say in her newly awake voice. And, unlike the day before, Chae accepts the offer as she feels she doesn't have enough strength to stand for more than five minutes.
True to her word, in less than fifteen minutes, Mina enters the room with a bowl of miso soup. "Thank you, Mina-chan" she says as she picks it up and places it on the nightstand to cool down a bit. "No problem. I made it yesterday, I just warmed it up" she shrugs as the other shakes her head. "It's not about the soup, it's about everything. Thank you for taking care of me and loving me so well. I love you" she clarifies, earning a smile from the girl in front of her. One of those gummy smiles that makes her eyes practically disappear. She says nothing, simply caresses her cheek and reaches up, seeking a kiss from her girlfriend, who, instead of joining her lips with her whispers "You're going to get sick" by way of warning, a warning they are both willing to ignore. "That's not going to stop me. I can't think of a better plan than spending anothers day at home with you instead of going to work. Besides, what was that thing your teacher said for you to end up in the rain... Live, feel, eat, love, laugh, travel and kiss without thinking about tomorrow?" She teases her girlfriend again about the rain incident and Chaeyoung nods her head before kissing Mina. "I guess I'll have to take good care of you" she whispers against her lips.

Pretend Chapter 26: Eye Eye Eyes | Part 2
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Son Chaeyoung x Myoui Mina ♡ Pool date in Australia ♡ Suggestive fluff & Deep angst | Set during Ready To Be World Tour (2023) Word count: 4874 | CW: Gender Dysphoria
Read previous chapters on AO3
The sun hung low in the sky, a faded, golden disk that almost allowed you to look at it. Even though dusk was just a handful of hours away, the entire firmament burned with an intense and scorching heat that enveloped everything in an infinite expanse of bright, washed-out blue.
Mina floated in another, smaller blue infinity, facing the sky. Eyes closed, she felt the cold ripples of water lapping at the skin of her back, and the warm radiance of the Australian afternoon baking the front of her body at the same time.
Cold past behind her, warm future ahead. Her mind was still stuck in repetitive, obsessive thoughts, but it wasn’t tortuous memories anymore. It was brimming with possibility, with yearning of a different and more realistic kind. It was possessed by sheer want.
She stopped floating on her back and opened her eyes, turning to her own puddle of sunshine sitting on a sunlounger near the edge of the pool.
“Are you sure you’re not joining me?” Mina asked, not bothering to cover the tinge of neediness in her voice.
“Maybe later,” Chaeyoung answered with a smile. “The chlorine in pool water isn’t good for my bleached hair. I want it to hold out at least a couple more years before going entirely bald.”
Mina chuckled, hiding her mouth behind a small, elegant hand out of habit. Chaeyoung had complained about it before, saying she wanted to see every second of her smile without missing anything. Mina shot her hand down abruptly when she recalled that.
“I think you’d rock it. Even with a shaved head you’d be the cutest.”
Chaeyoung laughed, though something shifted ever so slightly in the angle of her smile. She looked back down and continued fiddling with her polaroid camera.
Mina shrugged off the tiny spike of annoyance in her chest and kept swimming, diving into the deepest part of the pool. It was funny, she thought, the way she’d felt like drowning constantly for most of her life. She thought the feeling would go away. She thought the weight of an ocean would have been lifted off her lungs when she threw herself bare in front of her love, of her end. It didn’t. She kept sinking, deeper, darker. Drawn into the depths by Chaeyoung’s siren song, into a bottomless flooded trench of desperate hunger. She'd been fed scraps, small kisses, reckless touches. It didn't sate her. On the contrary, her need became more pressing after the first taste. Longing caressed her heart from the inside, soft like a ghost. Cold like a knife. Mina held her breath until her chest hurt.
She emerged, gasping slightly, eyes closed. She brought her hands to her hair to pull it back in place, and was greeted with the sound of a shutter behind her. Shuddering slightly, a wave of satisfaction traveled down the curves of her back and dissipated into the water.
“For your collection?” She teased as she turned around, accidentally leaning into a sultry tone way more intense than she intended.
Chaeyoung blushed and stammered, trapped between a giggle and an unintelligibile word. “I, sorry, I mean, yeah, sorry. Like, uhh, can I?”
“Please do.” Mina gifted her a gummy smile. Heat emerged on her cheeks, blooming through the cold droplets that adorned her all over. “But for every photo, you’ll have to spend a minute in the pool with me in exchange.”
The girl grimaced, arching her eyebrows with an apologetic expression on her face. “I’d rather not. I’m very sorry.”
Mina sighed and let herself float on her back for a few moments again, letting her frustration simmer down and disperse into the water. She got lost in the endless pale blue of the sky once again. It was technically winter in the southern hemisphere, though even the Australian winter was as hot as a mildly crisp summer day in Seoul. Every so often a chilly breeze would blow from the nearby river and rake its claws across the rooftop pool area. It was deserted except for them. Mina couldn’t stand it anymore.
She turned to her girlfriend again. She had changed into a simple black swimsuit to go outside, with a bulky, oversized nylon jacket that covered her halfway down the thighs hanging loosely from her shoulders. She was bundled up on her chair, carefully arranging her polaroids on a towel so the wind wouldn’t blow them away.
“Is it that time of the month? Is that why you won’t come in?” Mina asked her.
Chaeyoung tilted her head slightly. It took a second for her to react, shooting her big eyes wide open. “What!? Um, no, it isn’t… No, it's… It’s kind of the opposite, actually.”
“The opposite? What’s the opposite of being on your period?”
The blonde girl shook her head vigorously. “Nevermind, I… I just misspoke.”
“Chaengie…” Mina gritted her teeth and got out of the pool, grabbing her sunglasses and putting them on with purpose as she walked to take a seat next to Chaeyoung.
“Wanna tell me what’s wrong?” She sat down, laying a hand on her girlfriend’s.
“...Pic first. You look too sexy with your hair all wet like that.”
Taken aback, Mina couldn’t hold her giggle in. The water still clinging to her skin felt like it evaporated in an instant. Her fingers retracted instinctually, clamping down on Chaeyoung’s small hand.
The photographer continued swapping between her phone and her clunky camera, taking snapshots of Mina, the view from her chair and them both together with one device and then the other, documenting reality with precious meticulousness.
At the mere recalling of Chaeyoung’s ‘Gallery of pretty things’ in her phone and the memories and mementos she kept as polaroids, Mina’s heart started leaping and flipping inside her. She was taking pictures for both collections. Pretty memories. Beautiful memories. She suddenly understood Chaeyoung’s fondness for pictures - these were moments and feelings she desperately wanted to sear into her memory forever.
Why ruin the afternoon prodding her girlfriend for answers she knew she wouldn’t get, at least not right now? She was probably nervous - after all, they were technically on their first proper date, and in a semi-public place where unwanted looks could be drawn to them. It was that exactly, nerves. Must be.
The sight before her caused a disobedient smile to ignore Mina's commands and bloom on her face, despite her efforts to contain it.
“Instead of a photo, I’ll do you one better.” Mina said.
“Waaay ahead of you. Been taking videos too.” Chaeyoung answered without looking up.
“That isn’t what I meant.” Mina’s voice had lowered without her permission.
A violent gust blew over them, making Chaeyoung’s hair thrash about wildly. She gave one of her soft tiger cub screams and giggled, covering the pictures she’d printed with a towel. Mina shuddered.
“Really? What did you mean, then? Do me what better?” Chaeyoung continued.
It still roused her like the first time, it still shook her from the soles of her feet, it still made the tiny hairs on her neck stand on end and the knot in her throat tighten and unravel. In the past few weeks she’d blissfully, thankfully lost the count of how many times she had kissed Chaeyoung’s plump, soft, rosy lips. How many times she’d felt the curve that fell into the corners of the girl’s mouth tug and stretch into a smile pressed against her own. How many times she’d opened her eyes during a tender and careful bite to steal furtive glances at her long eyelashes resting on her blushing cheeks. The times she’d caught her looking back with those big, round eyes with beautiful dark pupils she could fall into and never be found again.
She was no longer aware of how many times Chaeyoung had cradled her face with such care and reverence that she felt like the most valuable and fragile thing on earth. She had no idea how many seconds she’d spent feeling the girl’s round tip of her nose brush lightly against the sensitive skin of her face, locked in an embrace.
Thousands of times by now, probably. And still Mina’s soul was set alight with the same blinding brightness each and every time.
A low grunt rolled out of Chaeyoung as her lower lip was caught by a soft, affectionate nibble. Mina pushed with her face, hungry, desperate, forcing her girlfriend to lean back into the chair. With some effort, Chaeyoung pulled back, panting.
“Not… We’re not…” She looked around, her chest heaving. “We’re alone, right?”
Mina nodded and kissed her again, but Chaeyoung quickly used her hand to caress her cheek and gently guide her away again.
“You’re getting me all wet.”
Mina felt like her heart had jumped into her mouth. “What?”
“Pool water, I mean.” Chaeyoung’s face burned up in a second, blushing intensely. “Mina, I’m… I don’t feel okay doing this outside. Anyone could come up and see us. Let’s… try to keep it lowkey, alright?”
“Take it elsewhere, then?” Mina asked with a breathy whisper.
The younger girl only looked at her, mouth slightly open as if asking for more. She hesitated for a moment.
Selfish, brash and reckless, Mina took Chaeyoung by the hand and got up before she could speak.
______________________________________________________________
Ever since I was little I’ve spent most of my time alone, locked in my room.  I wasn’t really interested in people and I wasn’t good at communicating, so I spent all day with games,  knitting, legos and toys. I was perfectly content by myself. When I entered highschool I was pushed and shoved into having a more active social life, but I think I didn’t change much. My hobbies remain the same all this time later, and most of my days are still just like that: alone, locked in my room. Familiar, comforting walls all around keeping me safe and hidden.  There’s scary stuff outside.
Sometimes I feel like there’s something fundamentally different in me, though. I couldn’t tell at first, not until I ventured out and talked with other people. But it was always there. Turns out I’m pretty, who would’ve thought? Boys lined up to confess to me, but I couldn’t reciprocate. There’s nothing there for them. My classmates couldn’t understand it. Couldn’t understand this thing I have inside me. They went out on dates, got boyfriends, broke up, talked about love. Got their hearts broken, their bodies taken, their lives changed. I was tormented by a strange hunger while everyone around me feasted, but I didn’t even have a mouth to eat with.
The longing, the loneliness inside me grew until I couldn’t take it. I stole a bite. A single morsel.  I was quickly taught I mustn't even open my mouth. That I must stay safe and hidden. There’s scary stuff inside. So the hunger grew. Unchecked, ignored. Years passed, and I withdrew more and more into my room, into myself. I gave up on love. It wasn’t for me. But then I met her. My Chaeyoung. I wouldn’t say she helped me open up. Saying she turned me inside out would be more accurate.
It’s her face. Her voice. That tiny pointy tooth that pokes out from the edge of her smile. Her shadow, her very silhouette. It’s enough to shake me out of the autopilot I had settled into and start living my life again. To live it with purpose, to take control. All to steer myself in her direction. I’m locked in my room like always and she’s sitting right there at the edge of the bed looking up at me, making the walls feel like they’re a mile away. Making me feel exposed, in danger and dangerous. Her beauty mark calls to me like it’s done from the very first time I saw her, saying ‘put a thousand kisses right here.’
Lust I’ve known, and learned to suffocate. This goes beyond that. She’s earned my heart, taken it by force by merely existing next to me. And as if it wasn’t enough, she stares at me with those big doe eyes, those long eyelashes batting the air at every blink. Asking what I’ll do to her without using words.  She’s the cutest thing in the entire world, and I want to eat her up. Her soft voice. Her skinny frame. Her small hands. I adore all of it. There’s a sweet heaviness in the air. It’s so heavy she can’t lift her eyes, stuck to the floor. It’s hard to breathe. I’m trembling with excitement. I want to find an explanation, but there’s nothing there for me. Maybe it’s the way she’s always been there for me, taking care of me when I couldn’t. Maybe it’s the way she tries to cheer me up even through her own sadness. Maybe it’s how she taught me not to be scared anymore.
I don’t know what it is, but the heat that builds up in me, the cloudy daze I’m slipping into, it’s all making the room feel cold. Her loving gaze prods me onward. It takes some effort for my voice to come. “Undress me, please.” She doesn’t. Her face changes. The excitement, the yearning mirroring my own is still there inside her eyes, but her posture shrinks. I grab her hands and she doesn’t pull away. They’re warm, and small. Smaller than mine, but her fingers are long, longer than mine. I guide them to my neck and back, and this time her hands comply and shake against the knot and clasp of my bathing suit until they’re undone. I let her go. Her arms fall back onto her lap and she stares, vacant, frozen, so I take care of the bottom piece myself.
I look down in a haze, and barely recognize the naked body I see. Poised for what it’s demanding. Tensed as if prepared for straining work. Covered in the slight shimmering moisture of the pool, a cold layer of microscopic droplets that makes light bounce off the skin in ways I’ve never seen or imagined. There’s something a bit like pride, resemblant of confidence, that sparks in my chest. Laid as bare and enticing as I can be in front of the maw I’ve so long dreamt of offering myself to. There’s no reaction. She’s perfectly still.
“Chaeng-Chaeng?”
She jolted, looking up and refocusing her vision. Mina grabbed her hands with tender care. They were still shaking. The black-haired woman took a step closer to her girlfriend, who was sitting on the edge of the bed and looking up at her with fearful reverence through watery eyes.
A few minutes ago she was barely able to process the sight of Mina’s bare back, interrupted only by a pesky strip of black cloth running across it. The smooth, soft, unfairly perfect skin of her back had been an object of her obsession for years, and a cherished view whenever she used open-back clothes for a photoshoot, a concert, or right now. From barely being able to function just for seeing her in a bikini, having Mina be completely naked in front of her had caused her to shut down, if not only for the impending doom she was going to be put through. It was too much.
Mina caressed the back of her hands using her thumb. The stimulation brought her back to earth for a moment.
“Back then, at the park, I asked you to kiss me. But I had to do it myself.” Mina said. Chaeyoung looked back down at her feet.
The woman continued, raising her voice ever so slightly. “...I asked you to come with me here, but I had to drag you by the hand. I asked you to undress me and here I am in front of you, of my own volition.”
She sat down next to Chaeyoung, who wouldn’t move at all anymore.
“I don't have a problem with asking, even begging, if it's for you. But I make you do all this, and you don't even protest, and won't reject me… And yet you won't lay a finger on me either, unless I do it first.”
The younger girl swallowed coarsely.
“What is it that you want, Chaengie?”
It took her a moment. “I want you, but-”
“No, don't say but.” Mina’s voice went back down to her gentle, whispery tone, brimming with careful kindness, though shaking with impatience.
“Say it in one word, or a single sentence, but no excuses anymore. Please. I know the thing you want the most isn't me. That's fine. Tell me what it is.”
Mina was expecting to see tears, but they didn’t come. Her girlfriend clenched her fists instead.
“I just want to feel like it's okay to be me, alright?” Chaeyoung looked at her abruptly. The tears were there, a reflection in the girl’s dark pools, expanded by anxiety. They were just refusing to fall.
Mina’s heart was squeezed. “Oh Chaeng-Chaeng, you're-”
“No, let me. Let me finish, okay?”
She pulled her hands away then breathed in and out of her mouth a few times, trying to calm herself.
“What you’re saying, the thing about me not wanting you. It’s actually the complete opposite. You got it all wrong.”
“What do you mean?” Mina’s brows furrowed. She sat down next to Chaeyoung, suddenly all too aware of her naked skin in the exposed air of the chilly room. Her girlfriend, ashamed, wouldn’t lift her gaze from her own shoes.
“I mean that I’m not what you want, Minari.” The nickname exposed her vulnerability. Chaeyoung’s heart was raw and tender, trying to grab onto any sort of comfort it could find.
“I cannot be what you want,” she reiterated. “I’m not dumb, I can tell how strongly you’ve been coming onto me.”
“Well, I certainly am sitting naked on the bed we share.” Mina tried to joke to lighten the mood, but regretted instantly when Chaeyoung just nodded and pursed her lips.
“I wish I could answer to what you’re asking, Mina. More than anything, believe me, I wish I was able to give what you want from me.”
“And what is it you think I want?” Mina asked, caution wrapping each of her words.
“I mean, you said it already. You’re naked next to me. Aren’t you cold?”
Mina nodded, and scooted closer to Chaeyoung. The clothed girl’s shoulders tensed up visibly.
“We can’t. I’m sorry. We can’t have sex. And I don’t know if I’m getting ahead of myself, or if I’m just projecting, but if you want this, us, to keep going, it can’t either. Not for long.” Chaeyoung’s voice trembled into a low monotone, submerged in despondence.
“There’s no future with us together, Mina. We can’t go out in public, we can’t become official, we can’t build our lives together. And it’s not because it’s taboo, not just because we’re idols.”
An uncomfortable, churning feeling inside her made Mina shift her position. Everything had been going so well, so unbelievably perfect, that she had decided to overlook Chaeyoung's obvious distress for weeks. Now the end of her perfect world was in sight, all for pretending things were well. She left out a shaky sigh, trying to force her face to remain neutral and attentive.
Chaeyoung sniffled, then slammed her balled up fists on the bed. “Fuck!”
Mina reeled out of sheer reflex, startled out of her panicking trance. The room felt colder by the second, the kind of cold that couldn’t be repelled by clothes or blankets.
“If it was that only - the public, the scandals, I wouldn’t give a shit. I’d ask you to come hide together in some other country, or deep in the mountains where it’s just us. That’d be so nice, so simple.”
She finally looked at Mina, locking eyes. Chaeyoung’s big, beautiful smile adorned her face, though behind it stood the saddest expression Mina had ever seen on her. Her eyebrows were arched, her eyes leaked tears silently. This tiny, vulnerable girl wasn't pushing her away. She was begging for help. Mina's heart grew a size, though it was a sad and foreboding feeling.
“Whatever it is, Chaengie, we can make it work. I don’t mind if-”
“No, you don’t get it.” She raised her voice, cutting Mina off. “I’ve never… I’ve never been…”
She choked back a sob. Mina reached for the girl’s hand, and managed to brush her thumb on the back of it before it was pulled away with fearful apprehension. Chaeyoung inhaled deeply.
“I’ve never been who you think I am. I’m transgender, Mina. I'm not… Not…” Her voice sounded like she was out of breath. Barely above a raspy whisper. It trailed off into nothing, her sentence left unfinished.
There was a lack of reaction for one moment. Mina brought her feet up to the bed, hugging her knees. The silence in the room became deafening.
“Okay.”
Chaeyoung was too busy staring at a corner of the room, her mind empty. She didn’t register the answer at first.
“It kind of crossed my mind a few times. Just a suspicion, but I thought it’d be ridiculous to… Sorry, I don’t…” Mina sighed, bringing her legs back down and crossing her arms instead.
“I’ve always known there’s something weird going on with you, Chaeng. Not weird, sorry. Nothing weird about… Sorry, let me start over.”
Mina shook her head, confused and frustrated at herself, still trying to digest what was happening. She got up and grabbed a light white jacket from her open suitcase, next to the bed. Her hands shook, betraying cold, nerves, or maybe both. Her strides back to Chaeyoung’s side, however, were purposeful and self-assured now that she was half-dressed.
She reached out with her hand hesitantly. She grabbed her girlfriend’s narrow chin with delicate care. The skin of her face glistened with silent tears. Mina leaned over and placed a kiss on her forehead.
“Thank you for telling me. I love you.”
“But?” Chaeyoung whispered.
“But nothing,” Mina sighed, sitting down. “It’s hard to swallow, obviously. It’s definitely not what-”
Chaeyoung interrupted. “I'm sorry. That’s what I meant, that’s the problem. I mean, you obviously want…” She exhaled, trying not to break as she wiped away her tears.
“I told you already. What I want is you. Only you, whatever you’re willing to give me. Whatever you can.” Mina protested with a hint of frustration in her tone.
“This body can’t do that. Don’t you get it? Sometimes I look at you and it breaks my heart, because you’re perfect. You’re like, made for me.”
Mina’s heart stirred, touched but worried sick.
Chaeyoung sniffled, then continued. “And maybe I tricked you into thinking something similar, but it’s just a trick. I made you love me but what you love isn’t what I am. I’m not perfect like you. Not even close.”
Mina was now staring at the floor too, unsure of what to say. “I’m so sorry, Chaeng. I love you, really.”
“But you don’t get it. There’s no way someone like you would get it.”
Chaeyoung sniffled a few more times, disturbing the stillness of the silence they were in.
They couldn’t tell how much time had passed when Mina talked again.
“I… learned to dance before I learned how to have a proper conversation.”
For just the second time, Chaeyoung looked directly at Mina. She continued.
“Without dancing, without my body, I wouldn't know how to navigate the world. It's like a link, an interface of sorts. Between me and the outside.” She reached for Chaeyoung’s hand again, and this time she didn’t pull away.
“If I become unable to dance or if there's a disconnect, or a rift between me and my body, I'd feel very lonely. I felt lonely before I danced. And I feel the least lonely when I'm dancing with you guys, to this day.”
Chaeyoung’s hoarse, dry voice tumbled out of her throat. “You… you actually kind of get it… How?”
“You've taught me a lot, even if you don't notice.” Mina smiled.
She continued. “But you know what, your body as a middle point, it works both ways. You may feel trapped inside, but you could also, you know, let other people reach in. Let me.”
“It’s not that I’m trapped. I just… It’s… I look at you, you’re perfect. You’re all I want. And this body of mine, it’s…”
“Look, Chaengie. I have to go to the gym every other day, on top of all our practicing. I have weekly nutritionist consultations, laser hair removal every four months, dermatologist once a month. A perfect body doesn't exist. Our job is to get as close as possible, and you're the best at your job.”
Chaeyoung looked puzzled. Her eyes had already acquired a pink tone, though she had stopped crying.
Mina got up. “Look at this scar,” she touched the side of her lower abdomen, bare and smooth, right at Chaeyoung’s eye level.
“When I was 14 I got so stressed about liking girls that my appendix ruptured. My own dad took it out. I still think of him when I see it.”
“This discoloration on my shoulder? They always cover it up with makeup.” She shrugged off her jacket, not taking it off entirely. “I was 8 and fell off a persimmon tree while picking some for my mom. It's her favorite fruit. The scrape was horrible but it was worth it.”
Chaeyoung opened her mouth to ask what she was trying to accomplish, but Mina went on before she could speak up.
“This bruise on my shin is from earlier today, when I insisted on carrying your stuff. It's not permanent, but it's proof that I went out with you. It’s a reminder of our first date, for as long as it lasts.”
“And these?” She let the jacket fall to the floor. It hadn't registered earlier, but now it dawned on Chaeyoung all at once - the fact that Mina was showing her bare skin, her everything, presenting herself as she was. Not only that: she was deliberately pointing out her imperfections, and still she was perfect.
“These…” She slid her palms down her own waist, stopping at her hips near a few faint vertical lines on each side. “The dermatologist almost managed to erase them entirely by now, but these lines on my hips are stretch marks. I used to hate them. They showed up around the same time my ballet instructor said I was growing up wrong. I hated myself for it, but now I kinda like them. They’re proof I’ve grown.”
“You’re perfect, Mina.” Chaeyoung smiled through a second wave of tears.
“No I’m not. There's no such a thing as a perfect body, but yours, yours is perfect, because it's a part of you. It is you.”
Mina grabbed her hands again.
“Even if at face value you don't like the body you ended up with, it's yours, and it's been all this time. Your body's story is your story, Chaeyoung. I know you know this."
Chaeyoung looked at her with a face drenched in self-inflicted misery, but the budding start of a deeper, bigger and more heartfelt smile was evident on her mouth. Mina kept going, her voice remaining low despite the rising passion in it.
"Your tattoos, your gender and whatever you've done with it… It’s all you taking control of your body, you telling your own story through it. But even the parts that can’t be changed, the parts you can't control at all, they're still who you are. They're still part of your story. Let me be a part of it too."
Mina sat down again and grabbed Chaeyoung's head by the sides of her neck, caressing her softly behind the ears with her thumbs.
"I love you. I love you, Chaeng-Chaeng. You're the most important person in my life, you're what makes me happiest in the whole world. Nothing's gonna change that."
Mina brought her closer and kissed her wet cheeks, her nose, her closed eyes. They were slow, tender kisses that made Chaeyoung shudder slightly. Mina cradled her girlfriend's head against her bare chest. Chaeyoung was warm, soft, her thin arms wrapped around her waist comforted her back. Their slow breathing soothed each other as the sky outside burned with an intense orange tint that dyed the entire room through the window.
Chaeyoung closed her eyes, grateful to live. Her fight or flight faded into bliss, as leftovers of adrenaline and dopamine in her bloodstream clinged onto a new stimulus. She hugged Mina harder, painfully aware of her bare skin, the soft warmth radiating from it laced with her aroma. It was enough to kick her heart into a frenzy once more. She was scared again, scared of what was inevitably coming. But something else held her fear back.
Mina pulled her gently into the bed, laying down. A mass of dark, silky strands partially covered Chaeyoung's face, making her close her eyes and inhale the lavender-and-jasmine perfume with a deep sigh. With her eyes now closed, the first thing she felt was the weight shifting beside her, then a line of small kisses leaving a tingling trail on her jaw. She let herself sink.

New Girl - Twice Dahyun
Tumblr media
Requested:  Can you write dahyun x fem!reader where the reader is a new student and Dahyun has a crush on the reader and Dahyun tries to court her and after a few months, the finally start to date?
Fluff
Dahyun x f!reader ft. Michaeng
Words: 2.4k
A/N: I wrote something like this a while ago, so if you think this looks familiar, it was me!
Also, first time writing for Dahyun!
“Do you really need to do all of that?” Chaeyoung whispered, finishing some details on yet another sketch she drew in her history book. “The classes are still a month away, you’re gonna have plenty of time to prepare”.
The girl sitting across the table didn’t even raise her gaze to look at Chaeyoung. She knew her best friend wasn’t fond of studying so she made the extra effort to make summaries for the both of them.
“I like when things look pretty,” she simply answered.
Chaeyoung smiled at such an expected reply. There wasn’t a single semester that they didn’t have pretty notes to study from.
However, on that particular Friday afternoon in the library, Chaeyoung was getting bored.
“Can’t we go take a walk? A pause for you to come back filled with creativity to keep making your study notes?”
Dahyun chuckled at the effort. “Be honest, do you really just want to go for a walk?” she asked, raising an eyebrow.
Chaeyoung chuckled. “Well maybe we can go for a snack too, maybe tteokbokki, maybe soju…”
“It’s 3pm, Chae!” the older girl shook her head, suppressing a smile but grabbing all of her stuff and putting it in her backpack.
“So that’s a yes?” the other girl asked, her face lighting up at the sound of a possible dinner in her near future.
“Let’s go!” Dahyun said, getting a glare from the library lady who gestured to her to stay quiet.
“Wait,” Chaeyoung called as they were leaving the library. “I forgot my wallet”.
Dahyun rolled her eyes, “alright, I’ll treat you this time”.
“No, no!” the shorted girl replied, moving her hands fast as if she wanted to keep that idea out of Dahyun’s mind, “let me go to my dorm and get it, I’ll be here in a minute, I promise!”
As soon as the words left her mouth, she was already on her way running towards the room the shared.
Dahyun sighed at the action and leaned against the wall to wait for her friend. She didn’t have any trouble paying for the food, but Chaeyoung insisted on going back for her stuff.
She took out her phone and scrolled for a bit, focusing her attention on a couple of videos that were shared by her friends. However, when she lifted her gaze, she wasn’t sure if her eyes were okay.
Since when does the university admit angels as students?
For less than five seconds, Dahyun’s gaze followed a new girl who was hurriedly making her way towards the library.
She was the prettiest girl she had ever seen.
The girl went into the library and Dahyun’s feet instinctively walked towards her. She wanted to know her name, but as soon as she saw her a group of new students also arrived at the place, making Dahyun lose the new girl in the crowd.
“Here,” Chaeyoung said, startling Dahyun, “let’s eat now. I’m almost dying!”
Dahyun nodded, still wondering when would be her next lucky chance to see that girl. After all, the university was big enough to see someone only once.
*
Looking at the calendar, Chaeyoung sighed, “Tomorrow is Tzuyu’s birthday, what are we going to do?”
“I don’t know,” Dahyun replied, “probably getting together with the girls, eating something and then drinking a lot”.
“I like that idea,” Chaeyoung grinned, “you should be our party planner from now on”.
Dahyun threw her a pillow, “good night”.
The next morning they made their way to the supermarket and bought enough food and drinks for the girls and some guests that they could bring. It was supposed to be a small gathering in the cafeteria as they used to do every birthday.
Once everything was settled, Jeongyeon was the first one to arrive.
“Hey,” Jeongyeon said, while looking at the door, as a girl made her way in, “this is my friend, she just got admitted to our department”.
“Sorry to crash, I bought beer to compensate,” you said with a shy smile, hoping your presence wouldn’t bother them.
Dahyun’s jaw dropped to the floor, what were the chances?!
“I’m Chaeyoung, nice to meet you”.
“Dahyun,” she simply said, since she couldn’t believe you were the girl she saw the day before. The girl that left her speechless and she thought would never see again.
As you were about to sit, your phone rang and you excused yourself to go out and answer.
When you were out of the cafeteria, Chaeyoung didn’t miss the chance to tease Jeongyeon about it.
“Nice!” she said, showing her thumbs up towards the older girl who just chuckled.
Dahyun’s heart ached. She wasn’t going to get in the middle if Jeongyeon had already made a move.
“No, no,” Jeongyeon said as if she could read Dahyun’s mind, “she’s just a friend”.
“Yeah, right,” Chaeyoung replied.
“I’m serious, it’s not what you think. Just a friend”. The older girl smiled since she was just stating the truth about her new friend.
Dahyun was relieved.
“Sorry,” you got into the room again, “it was my friend. She’s coming over too. No problems, right?”
“The more, the merrier,” Jeongyeon smiled as they fell into a conversation.
As people kept arriving, you and Jeongyeon took seats in front of Chaeyoung and Dahyun. An empty space next to your seat made Dahyun want to pretend to go to the bathroom just to come back and sit there.
“There she is,” you said, waving towards the new girl who just arrived. “This is Mina,” she introduced as everyone greeted her.
But Dahyun’s attention was only on you and the way you were making her heart flutter.
As Tzuyu arrived, they started opening the bottles of beer and soju that were on the table.
“Are you strong?” Mina asked in a defiant tone.
“Of course, I am!” Chaeyoung answered, ready for whatever was going to happen.
The older girl poured a glass of soju in front of her, “one shot”.
Chaeyoung grinned and obeyed, “easy”.
Dahyun rolled her eyes, she knew that at the end of the night she was going to drag her drunk roommate towards her room and tug her to bed. Not the first time something like that happened.
As she laughed about what they were doing, she noticed you grinning too.
“So…” she said, trying to catch your attention, “what department were you in before transfering?”
Finally, those mesmerizing eyes focused on Dahyun, “oh, I actually was in Performing Arts but ended up changing to Music since Mina and I have been talking about it for a while now”
“You’ll make an amazing musician,” Dahyun blurted out suddenly, making you smile at the honesty caused by the alcohol.
“How do you know that?”
“I can see the future and your future is very bright,” she replied, trying to play it cool but failing miserably.
You chuckled since you found it adorable.
Too much to Dahyun’s fluttered heart.
“Why don’t we dance?!” Mina stood up, clearly tipsy, taking Chaeyoung’s hand in hers and dragging her to the center of the room, “turn up that music!”
“Party girls,” Dahyun chuckled, making you smile.
“You don’t dance a lot?”
“I like dancing, but it isn’t like I’m always on it,” she answered, her eyes never leaving the drunk couple dancing. Some of their friends followed them.
You turned your head to look at her.
“Won’t you dance?”
Dahyun blushed, “I don’t dance…”
“Come on,” you stood up, offering your hand, “You’re not going to reject me, are you?”
Never.
As the night went on, everyone was wasted. They had a lot to drink and the music was loud. It was one of those nights that were better than expected.
“Yeorobun~,” Chaeyoung sang, clearly drunk, with a cup of soju on her hand and Mina wrapped on her other arm, “arigatou gozaimasu~,” she said in Japanese with a heavy accent.
“They are so drunk,” you chuckled as people kept laughing with them.
“Yeah, they are…”
You stood up and looked for your purse while Dahyun tried to think about a way to make you stay.
“Shouldn’t we let them be? It seems like they are having fun”.
Both girls were giggling at each other with stupid smiles on their faces, mumbling things.
“I don’t know. What if tomorrow she gets mad at me for letting her be drunk with a stranger?”
“Chaeyoung is a nice girl, nothing to worry about”.
You still seemed doubtful.
“Yah! Y/N!!” Mina yelled, walking towards you and almost falling.
“Hey, are you okay?” you asked, patting the chair next to you asking Mina to sit.
“Never been better,” your friend answered, giving a look to Dahyun and whispering in your ear, “she’s cute”.
You blushed, “are you ready to go?” she asked, trying to change the subject.
“Yeah, I want to sleep already,” she said, her eyes partly open because of the alcohol.
“Told you she wanted to go,” you turned to Dahyun and smiled.
Dahyun couldn’t wish for anything but seeing your smile again.
“So are you leaving?”
“Yeah, let’s go, Minari,” you said, but got no answer. “Gosh, she’s asleep!”
Dahyun chuckled, “maybe we should carry her to your room. Can I help?”
You nodded and Dahyun wrapped her arms around the sleeping girl. Just as she was about to lift her, Chaeyoung appeared.
“Hands off my girl!” she shouted, as drunk as Mina.
“Shut up, Chae. You’re drunk”.
“I will carry her,” she said, pushing Dahyun aside and lifting Mina herself, “she’s my woman”.
Dahyun couldn’t believe it. Chaeyoung wasn’t that strong, yet she seemed comfortable carrying her.
“Are you sure you can carry her?” you asked, worried if she would let Mina fall.
You only got a nod for an answer, “can you come with us?” you asked, blushing again and speaking faster, “j-just in case she can’t take Mina upstairs”.
“Sure,” Dahyun smiled and followed both girls who were way ahead of them.
Once in their room, Chaeyoung placed Mina on the bed and left a kiss on her forehead.
“My job is done here,” she said, almost falling on her way back to the door.
“Thank you for bringing her here,” you said, but Chaeyoung had already gone.
“She’s so drunk,” Dahyun chuckled.
You chuckled too and your gazes met when the chuckles disappeared.
“I’m so glad I met you,” Dahyun said, not breaking eye contact.
“Me too”.
“Will I see you again?”
“Probably,” you gave her a flirty smile. “I’ll be around. I hope I can see you again”.
“We should go out some time,” Dahyun dared to say, gaining a blush from you.
“I’d love that”.
You smiled at each other in silence until Dahyun bid a goodbye.
*
“Geez, my head”.
Dahyun was already up and changing her clothes when Chaeyoung woke up.
“Are you okay? You were pretty drunk yesterday”.
“I know, I don’t remember a lot”.
Dahyun laughed, “Son Chaeyoung! How can you not remember?”
“Why?” the shorter girl sat up straight with a mortified look on her face, “what did I do?”
“You met this girl and called her your woman,” she answered, still laughing.
Chaeyoung threw herself back to the bed, “Ah… Mina…”
“So you remember her…” Dahyun teased.
"She was so pretty, I wanna see her again!”
Dahyun threw her a pillow, “who are you and what have you done with my Chaeyoung?!”
“Your Chaeyoung?” the still sleepy girl asked, “shouldn’t you ask your Y/N?”
“Oh, come on…” Dahyun said, a smile growing on her face unconsciously.
As both girls finished breakfast, they headed towards the lobby where the classroom numbers would be published.
“Come on,” Chaeyoung said to herself, “We have to be in the same class!”
She ran towards the board and looked for their names.
Son Chae Young – Room 304
Kim Da Hyun – Room 304
“We're together!” she said, gesturing her best friend to see it.
But her eyes went back to the board as she remembered someone.
Myoui Mina – room 304
A huge smile was plastered on her face.
“Why are you smiling like that?” Dahyun asked as she got to the board and looked for her own name, “hey we’re together!”
“That’s what I told you,” Chaeyoung answered, “Mina is in our class too”.
“Oh, that’s why you were smiling like a creep”.
She got hit on her arm by her friend, but immediately searched for a name on the lists.
Y/LN Y/N – room 304
“Now who’s the creep?” Chaeyoung asked her, smirking.
“Hey girls,” a voice called from behind, startling both girls, “are these the names list?”
“Yeah, I’m in the 304, you?” Dahyun asked, pretending not to know it.
Chaeyoung rolled her eyes.
“I’m in the 304, too!” you said, smiling, “Mina too. This is great!”
“Seems like we’re going to be classmates,” Chaeyoung said, “I’m also in the 304”.
“Oh really?” You asked, “Mina will be glad to know it”.
“Will she?” Chaeyoung asked, raising her eyebrows.
“Yeah… she told me she wanted to talk with you but she didn’t have a way to contact you. She’s in our room, you can go now if you want”.
Chaeyoung didn’t need to be told twice as she made her way towards Mina.
“It hit her hard,” Dahyun chuckled as she saw her friend disappearing.
“Yes, both of them. They would look cute together”.
“So we will see each other really often then,” Dahyun said, smiling at you.
You returned her smile, “really often”.
You both stayed in silence. Dahyun didn’t know how to let you know that she wanted to spend more time with you.
“I think I should go now,” you said, “I’ll see you later, Dahyun”.
Dahyun just nodded and saw how you walked away.
“Y/N!” she shouted without thinking.
You turned around and looked at her, “yes?”
Dahyun panicked, “I-I…” she sighed. “Can I be bold and tell you something?” she asked, getting closer to you and looking straight to your eyes.
“Go on”.
She inhaled a lot of air and sighed, “I like you”.
Your eyes never broke contact.
“Oh… well,” you said, getting closer to Dahyun, “I think we would look even cuter together,” you whispered shyly and left a kiss on Dahyun’s cheek.
Dahyun held her breath as you stepped back and gave her the most beautiful smile she had ever seen.
“I’ll see you around,” you said, walking towards the cafeteria.
“L-Let me treat you to lunch!” Dahyun shouted, feeling nervous out of nowhere.
You turned around again and offered your hand, which Dahyun gladly took, “let’s go!”

Introduction post
Who am I?
I don't know either if I'm being honest... Okay okay. My name is Sharpie, and I'm a Kpop NSFW writer. I mostly write smut, yes, but I also write fluff and angst and all other kinds of stuff. I pretty much only write GxG stuff, but I do write G!P!! Often. I occasionally write for NCT(all units) but I am quite new to them 😅 it's the only BG I will write... For now.
I use She/Her pronouns and I am a big dumb useless Sapphic. I love women.
Requests
Am I open to requests? Yeah. All the time!!
I can write blurbs, whole fanfics, small or big oneshots, headcanons... Anything.
Just ask me 😋 Don't be afraid to be specific, I love when it's specific 🙏🙏
Blacklisted things
I will not write smut about minors in any way. Keep in mind, these are real people.
No !nc3st. Again, real people. It's weird. Also I have bad experiences with this concept, so it makes me ick
No watersports or scat, just not my thing yk?
Main pairings
Okay so main pairings are the ones who I mostly write for. I will not do minor x adult unless there's like only a 1/2/3 year age gap. But no smut!!
I will write about other ships as well, so you can request other things obviously 😀 I also can do Idol/Reader 🙏

apartment au - dahyun's the (very normal) landlord of an apartment that protects supernatural creatures from the horrors of the modern day world. she also happens to be dating those supernatural creatures. (ot9 poly)

(nadajeong poly, mohyo, satzu, michaeng, yeji/ryujin/lia, chaeryoung/yuna)
after hours (masterlist) - at the end of a long day, when the street lights begin to turn on and the people begin to sleep, you find yourself wondering where you should go. (reader x twice)

2 new messages,
[user: momo]
'Hey'
...
'Happy birthday,
I did not forget.'
...
'meet me at han river in 10?'
...
'okay.'
-
The cold night air hits Jihyo's face, giving her goosebumps.
It's completly empty except for some couples sitting on the grass.
It makes her wish that she would be one of them.
She puts her hands inside of the pockets of her jacket.
She reaches a familiar bench.
It makes her think, about the old times.
About her first kiss.
About the confession of love in the rain - like a romantic movie that would have the watchers sobbing in their seats.
It got her sobbing too, in the depth of the night.
When she feels lonely, and vunerable.
A side of her that she doesn't want anyone to see.
She sits down on the bench, staring at the water.
She tries to lean back, tries to relax.
How is she able to relax if exactly she was the first person to congratulate her on her birthday?
"Jihyo" says Momo in a soft voice.
How is she supposed to relax when she says her name like that?
She looks up, from the water, and looks Momo in the eyes before she joins her on the bench.
They both stare at the water, without saying anything.
Even though people would describe Jihyo as someone that always has something to say, as someone that can't stay silent for too long, she has no idea what to say in this moment.
But that is nothing new to Jihyo, or to Momo, moments like these, in silence, are nothing new to them.
Jihyo decides to break the silence though.
"I only allow myself to miss you at night, I miss you in the secret -
because thats how it should be." she says, it comes out as a whisper.
It's an impulsive thought.
Momo looks at her, nods a little, then looks back at the river.
"Do you still think of me sometimes?" Jihyo asks.
She wishes she didn't ask that question after thinking about it long enough.
She wishes she didn't answer Momo's stupid texts.
She knows what her answer is going to be, something like a "no, I dont, not really."
But she is actually surprised when Momo answers.
"I do.
A lot actually"
This time Jihyo looks at Momo, without saying anything.
It feels like they are having an pointless conversation, with no goal or no end.
"Sometimes I want to text you -
but then I remember" Momo says.
Jihyo thinks she even heard a little sob when Momo said it.
But she doesn't want to think about it too much.
It's silent again, both watching people slowly leave the river.
The couples leave together, hand in hand.
Jihyo gets emotional seeing it.
"Atleast we are under the same sky" Jihyo says.
She feels the tears coming, but tries to hold them back.
"Maybe in another universe" Momo says, or rather, whispers.
And Jihyo is definetly sure that she heard a sob.
"I'm starting to forget you, I'm starting to forget us -
and it scares me." Jihyo says.
It's pointless.
This conversation.
They are both pathetically crying, like little, spoiled children that got their candy taken away.
They try to focus on the han river infront of them, they try to ignore the fact that this,
somehow is a goodbye.
"Can we have one more meaningless conversation?" Jihyo asks, even thought she already knows the answer to her stupid question.
"It's too late" Momo answers.
And she is right, she is so fucking right.
But Jihyo doesn't want it to be true.
Jihyo just wishes they could go back to talking once in a while because one of them is feeling alone in the middle of the night.
It doesn't need to be constant texting.
Just every now and then.
"I don't want to forget your voice"
She is trying to drag this out, to stop Momo from leaving.
"Or anything about you." Jihyo says, looking down onto her lap.
She watches her tears dropping onto her black jeans.
"I will look at the stars every night -
and I will think of you" Momo answers.
"My birthday wish for you is to let go" Momo says as she stands up.
Jihyo doesn't stop her when she starts walking.
She knows she can't stop her.
She knows she couldn't.
So instead of running after her, or leaving to walk to her apartment, she just watches Momo leave.
Her figure disappears in the darkness of the night.
"Anyway,
don't be a stranger." she whispers.

requests ^..^
Tumblr media
-- some guidelines to follow before requesting :)
▹ usual rules from my about me apply
▹ please specify smut/fluff, prompts, and pairings in your requests!
▹ will mostly be idea dumps or hcs — if not, i'll take quite a while to fill them (but trust that i will!!)
▹ my hcs read more like actual fics just written in dot points 🤐
▹ i enjoy writing for tzuyu most, and will likely prioritise reqs including her more, but all other pairings are still very welcomed! (i eat those rarepairs up too dw, i truly love them all! but if you're unsure you can always ask 🫶)
▹ i'm least likely to write michaeng/smut for chaetzu (i implode every time i try)
▹ i will take a significantly longer time to write smut, and do normally complete fluff reqs first
▹ MEN DNI
♡ requests: CLOSED

Pretend | A MiChaeng Story
Tumblr media
Stardom, especially being an idol, is all about pretending.
Mina knew it all too well. Chaeyoung had lived it since she could remember.
Can they keep it up much longer?
This is a story heavily inspired by real life settings and events in Twice's lives and careers, starting at a recent low point for Chaeyoung. A tender slow burn with plenty of angst, and plenty of lust that keeps failing to find release. Will these two idols ultimately find each other after a decade of mutual pining, painful yearning and secrets kept?
Read now!
My other stories: ➤ Sommelier: NSFW Sahyo one-shots in the same continuity as Pretend. ➤ Disharmonious: 2yeon focused fantasy AU where Nayeon is a magician noble and Jeongyeon her bodyguard. Enemies to lovers.

Hello author nim! I don't know if you will read this but I read all your works and I really like all of them! With regards to your poly-michaeng oneshots, usually I mostly lean more towards top!chae but it was refreshing to read your stories too! I just finished reading "darling please stay strong" and I must say that I am hooked! I am very interested in reading protective mama bears Nayeon and Mina, especially protective Mina.. it seems that Mina is not very adept at feelings, letting Nayeon take care of that part while she remains more rational.. so it's actually very interesting to read her development with regards to her new motherly feelings for Chaeyoung! I think the next chapter will shed light onto Chaeyoung's past which is something I have been very curious about... I just pray for no more angst coz Chaeyoung has been through a lot🥹 have mercy author nim!
Thank you for writing the work author nim!
Hi 🥺 omg I’m a horrible person for only seeing this now! This is the most heart warming thing to see right now ❤️ I appreciate you giving my stories a read and taking the time to send me a message 🥺 It feels really nice to see that people are still interested in my writing and my fics even when I’ve been on hiatus for about 3-4 months now (wow I can’t believe it’s been that long 😞)
Mina in darling…is probably my favorite version of her I’ve written in any of my fics. I’m not going to say too many things (because spoilers 😅) but I will say that a complicated event from her past prevents her from opening up completely to people she doesn’t trust yet.
As for the angst I’m sorry to say…but there’s going to be a lot more on the way 🙃 There will be fluff trickled in to combat it, I promise! Chaeyoung’s past and story will slowly be revealed as more chapters unfold, and some definitive answers will come in the next one actually!
I can’t say when I will post the next one (as currently it’s only about 1/4 of the way done) but you can look forward to a new one-shot later this week if you’d like, I plan on making my grand return to writing then 😉 thank you again for sending this and I hope you have a great day ❤️
P.S. A little spoiler to bide your time: the next chapter is named “where do you go when the devil always follows” 😌

Strawberry Kisses
Scenario: Chaeyoung and Mina made chocolate covered strawberries during their day together.
(based off of that tik tok skdjke)
Tumblr media
Rain pattered on the windows as a faint breeze blew through the kitchen window sending a chill down Mina's spine. She sat on the kitchen island with Chaeyoung placed between her legs as they both dipped freshly cut strawberries into a bowl of warm melted chocolate.
"Chaeng you can't eat all of the strawberries we need some to dip" Mina grabbed the blonde's hand stopping her from eating another strawberry. Chaeyoung plopped the strawberry into Mina's mouth instead causing the older girl's cheeks to heat up in a blush.
"I could spend my whole life with you eating strawberries" Chaeyoung felt butterflies at her words. Loving that familiar tingle she gets whenever she was around the Japanese girl.
Mina leaned down placing her forehead against Chaeyoung's just enjoying the touch. Chaeyoung then placed small pecks on Mina's lips causing Mina to laugh into the kids and pull away.
"you taste like strawberries" she giggled at Chaeyoung. Mina then dug through the bowl of strawberries, dipped it in chocolate and fed it to her girlfriend before kissing her on the lips once more.
