Happy national anti-terrorism day!! Hopefully Ladybug and all the other miraculous heroes will be able to put an end to Monarch's reign of terror soon!
How do you think he will be defeated? Will that be the end of any villains terrorising Paris or will somebody else step up to take his place??
Being told that my character hasn't been cleaning themselves properly in at least ten days was honestly the worst and most shocking part of the game. Gale and Lae'zel can go on about how they like your musk all they want, it doesn't matter. Ten days of wandering around and fighting? We camp next to a river? And yet???

The villain groans and rolls onto her side. It’s still dark out. Surely nothing important can be happening at this time. She’ll ignore it.
Bzzzzzzz!
Ugh. No, it can wait. No job can be that serious when the moon's still out.
Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!
The villain leaps up and snatches her phone from the nightstand. She taps blindly at the screen and brings it to her ear with an incensed “what?”
“Bonjour, amigo,” says the voice on the other side. The other villain. The villain gave him a coffee once—and this is how he repays her endless kindness? Cruel.
“That’s two different languages, you dimwit,” the villain snaps. “What the hell is so important at” — the villain glances at the clock blinking on the table — “quarter to four in the morning?”
“Damn, is that the time?” the other villain says brightly, as if the villain just said it’s time for lunch and not the middle of the goddamn night. “Yeah, okay, look. I don’t mean to get you involved in my maniacal plans” — the villain can imagine him waving his hands rather manically as he says it — “but could you get to the old town hall in, like, half an hour?”
“What—”
“And bring some of your guys.” The other villain coughs a laugh that crackles the speaker. “Your goons, your lackeys. Whatever you call them.”
“I’ll bring a couple of my henchmen,” the villain corrects pointedly, “if you tell me what this is about.”
The other villain goes quiet for a moment. “I’ll give you half the payout if you don’t ask questions.”
Ooh. A fun little mystery and a pile of cash. The villain was never adverse to a little puzzle. “Whatever. I’ll just let [Supervillain] know I’m coming then I’ll get—”
“No!” the other villain cuts in hastily. “No, don’t tell him. It’s a, uh... a surprise.”
“A surprise,” the villain echoes flatly. “You’re an atrocious liar, you know.”
“Half the payout for no questions.”
Something to solve in her free time. “Fine. I’ll be there in an hour.”
“But I said—”
“Half the payout,” the villain drawls, “half the effort. See you in an hour.”
The other villain makes a noise that half resembles a “fine” and hangs up without another word.
The villain sits in silence for a moment, letting the night’s chill rush over her bare feet before begrudgingly hauling herself out of bed.
Half the payout for her silence. The other villain better hope the reward for this is huge.
solitary hero au: why doesn't marinette go to school? did her parents pull her out when chloe started bullying her or...?
HIHI THANK YOU FOR THE ASK I LOVE ASKS!!! GIVES YOU A KISS ON THE CHEEK
The short answer is: Marinette is now Paris' only hero and their last line of defense against the akuma! She has no partner to rely on to handle the akuma in her absence, and no insurance that people won't discover her identity if she needs to bolt out of class. So, she's become a hero full-time in order to remedy this.
I can't imagine that her parents would be happy with this arrangement, though, and the fact that their 14-year-old daughter will be quitting schooling to train to be the solitary hero of Paris as well as the guardian inheritor of an entire practice of magic-- well, it wouldn't sit well. They may have even turned away the Order at first, but if they were to do that I think Mari would at length chase after the Order behind their backs and accept the mantle of the Miraculous by herself. Begrudgingly, and eventually, her parents would have agreed to support this, but would have been very uncertain about it. I can't decide right now whether Mari would keep living with her parents or come to live with the Order, but maybe she splits her time? Remains to be seen I think.
I feel Mari would be constantly restless and yearn for the connection that school can bring though. She would, of course, not miss the bullying, but sometimes she sees her friends in the distance and daydreams what would happen if she could be there with them too, if only for a day. What would change?
She signed up for this, though. She can't-- she won't-- go back until the threat of abused magic is defeated. And of course, until the threads of reality spinning the makeup of the universe stop singing to her too.
This name is hilarious and you’re about to find out why.
It really bugged me at first because I couldn’t figure out how it related to dogs or canines at all. But I knew the second part of the name comes from the word “formidable.” In English, it means powerful/capable/intense in a way that commands respect or fear (I.e. formidable opponent). In French, it can be the same, but also translates to “tremendous,” “amazing,” “terrible” (if you’re wanting a negative connotation).
Those definitions definitely go with how Felix sees himself (and he is definitely a formidable opponent).
But I was drawing a blank on “flair” or how else the name could refer to anything canine at all. So I just googled “flairmidable meaning” and see if someone else in the miraculous wiki figured it out lol. And they did!
Someone in a miraculous discussion post said “flair” means a dog’s sense of smell. I did some more googling to fact check it just in case, and found that it’s almost right: “flairer” (a French verb) means “sniff,” and “flaireur” means “scent.” Since Fetch is a tracking power, it’s a good connection to how dogs track.
Okay, now here’s the funny part.
“Flair,” by itself, also means “instinctive aptitude or ability for doing something well. Add that with “formidable,” and, well…
Felix literally went “hi I’m Talented and Powerful” to an entire team of superheroes and no one bat an eye (well, except Chat, but he was on jealousy brain).
(Then he proceeded to prove that he was exactly that. What a legend.)
say hi to me
i don't know, i just remembered being so much
brighter, i guess
cigarette ash like wildfire
burning holes in the nighttime
open scars feel like barbed wire
white lies flying high like a ceasefire
dropping flags on the shoreline
this is as far as i can feel right
'cause what you don't know can haunt you
and all we ever wanted was sunlight and honesty
highlights to want to repeat
let's get away from here and
live like the movies do
i won't mind when it's over
at least i didn't think for a while
don't drag it out
living like that doesn't mean a thing
so let's, make a great escape
and i'll be waiting outside for the getaway
it doesn't matter who we are
we'll keep running through the dark
and all we'll ever need is another day
we can slow down 'cause tomorrow is a mile away
and live like shooting stars
'cause happy endings hardest to fake
and i wanna let you know
i wanna let you go
but i just can't bring myself to speak
but this is how it goes
the end credits, they roll
this bridge was built over kerosene
but we can watch it
and all i ever wanted was sunlight and honesty
highlights to want to repeat
let's get away from here and
live like the movies do
i won't mind when it's over
at least i didn't think
so let's run, make a great escape
and i'll be waiting outside for the getaway
it doesn't matter who we are
we'll keep running through the dark
and all we'll ever need is another day
we can slow down 'cause tomorrow is a mile away
and live like shooting stars
you can wish away forever
but you'll never find a thing like today
