Kai potentially over time due to the stress and pressure of being the perfect green ninja for Wu starts to get draconic looking. Patches of hidden scales that he can only hide with make up for so long. Before somebody finds them on him. Ninja don’t have scales and fangs. That’s reserved for villains.

I've been trying to figure out when Kai would start to show his draconic heritage, and I like the idea of having it be brought out purely by stress.

Really goes to show just how badly Kai is doing; he's been worn down so much he's experiencing something that happened to Nya bc she would have died otherwise.

He'd definitely freak out, going to extreme lengths to keep them hidden, possibly even trying to pull them out at first, before realizing that they just wouldn't stop growing.

And once he sees Nya again, and Wu tells him that her appearance is bc of Garmadon using Dark Magic on her, Kai absolutely panics. He's been growing scales just like the ones covering Nya; was Garmadon somehow able to curse him? Was he going to turn on his team and Wu?

And of course, the extra stress just causes him to start changing more.

How creepy can your dark magic Misako get at times?

She doesn’t ever really, I can’t really see why she would be.

I’m of the opinion that dark magic in Ninjago is less based around creepy, evil stuff and more around ambition and a drive for power (though obviously certain parts of it are less well intended, like the element stealing spell Clouse and Chen used). Misako wants the power to save her family from the Green Prophecy, and she’s in ambitious in that, but there’s not really anything to make her creepy.

Good question! I had thought about a pig like in the movie, but then there’s Pigsy who IS a pig so it might get confusing. So I just didn’t sketch that part out and left it up to interpretation. The pig one suits him tho because of how he eats I suppose lol

Hopeful Date

Just a snippet of an idea discussed on two separate Discord servers with @draw-of-the-moon, @mostie01, and @rain-bow-donkey, wanting to keep my writing skills sharp!

Okay, remember what Monkey King said. Confidence is key.

Qi Xiaotian took a deep breath in, paused and prayed he wasn't sweating over his rented suit, and let it out. It was fine. He was fine. Sun Wukong was managing the bidding and Xiaojiao was in the audience as a bid to make sure he didn't end up with a creep.

A creep that was paying for a date. With him.

Okay, step back. How did he get into this situation? Right, Wukong had asked him to be the star bachelor in Monkey Magic, the environmental charity that Wukong ran to help nature reserves across China, and the annual bachelor auction. He had agreed because, one, it was for a good cause and, two...well...

He hadn't really dated since he became the Monkie Kid.

He had a good reason! One, he was really busy with what he had and knew that he didn't need a romantic relationship to complete him. On the other hand, Xiaotian honestly got a little lonely sometimes, watching Pigsy and Tang's rare lovey-dovey moments. He knew, again, that he didn't need a romantic relationship, but he did want to find someone that he could share a life with.

So, who knew? Xiaotian took a risk and moved the curtain. Wukong was starting his speech to begin the auction, taking the form of a handsome man with really badly dyed blonde hair. (Apparently, it added authenticity.) He could see Xiaojiao's green tux, his bestie sipping on a drink and considering the stage.

He also saw the person who walked in last.

Before his heart could get up from its trip, there was a boom of "LET'S SEE OUR MEN!" The curtain lifted, and Xiaotian was suddenly blinded by the spotlights. Applause rolled out, and Xiaotian managed a wave, blinking dots out of his vision.

It was just in time to get a better look at the person who had made his heart skip a beat, sitting down at a table near the stage. And... wow. Xiaotian knew that, if they switched places, he would bet for this guy in an instant.

They were handsome, dressed in a gorgeous black dress with a v-neck deep enough to reveal pecs. They had long, flowing scarlet curls that framed an angular face that looked weirdly familiar and dark eyes, lined with purple eyeshadow and kohl, that met his. Xiaotian looked away with heat in his face, not in time to see ruby red lips purse into a sharp-toothed smile that made his knees weak.

Huh. Maybe this wouldn't be so bad after all.

question, for venomous teachings, why did you change Kai and Nya's pasts so that they grow up without the other?

Well, my original idea had them grow up together like in cannon, and get separated by the Skulkin kidnapping Nya like in cannon.

Things were going a lot closer to Cannon, but with Wu working to make the Ninja celebrities and leaning into Kai's desire to be the Green Ninja and eventually pretending that Kai really is the Green Ninja.

And then @mostie01 sent in an ask comparing Wu to an evil stage parent, and I kinda latched onto that thought
