Androphit, The Omniscient Trial-Keeper
Race: Sphinx
Birthplace/Homeplane: Amonkhet
Status: Alive (Standing Azorius Guildleader in the 38th district)
**Backstory Summery:** Originally an Amonkhet sphinx Androphit went by their dead name of “Travophit”. Travophit worked in the Trial of Knowledge and under Kefnet as trainer of new viziers. Travophit sparked after finding a small group of their new vizier’s had lost their minds after experimenting with scrolls that Kefnet had hidden away. Travophit saw this opportunity to ditch their old identity. Adopting the name Androphit, Now She attempted to hide within the Kaldadeshi Wilderness of Peema in the small river village of “Combondi”. This is where she was given the identity of “The Keeper of Combondi” by the villagers who saw her as a guardian. She in turn would set up her own trials of knowledge nearby in honor of her old god. Here she would teach the members of the village skills she taught to prepare for the trials. She eventually would have a run in with the planeswalking aetherborn bounty hunter, Srinavas after a bounty was placed on her head by the planeswalker and head of the consulate Dovin Baan. To escape she would cast an invisibility spell upon herself and planeswalk away. Androphit followed the strong Aether to Arcavios, and more specifically the college of Strixhaven, Here she would study at Strixhaven academy. During her studies there she majored in Extraplanar Observations. During her studies she witnessed the Hour of Devastation. Androphit quickly returned to Amonkhet to help how she could yet it was far too late. This is where she found that Ravnica was Nicol Bolas’ ultimate goal. She rushed over to Ravnica, she wanted to help prepare the city for the incoming war. Androphit was quickly welcomed into the Azorius Senate and promoted to standing guild leader after showcasing her plan to build a series of trials specifically made for Ravnica. During the war of the spark thanks to her preparations and the help of her magically bolstered group known as “Crop Akh-Id”. The invasion within the 38th was expertly handled. Allowing Androphit and Domahelix to assist the 10th district in their standoff. During which she had a fortunate encounter with Srinivas, Who was weakened by some magical force. Here she would ambush Srinivas, stealing nearly all of his essence. Androphit left Srinnavas a withered blip of an Aetherborn with just a few hours left to live. After the war ended Androphit returned to the now liberated Kaladesh. Returning to Combondi to revisit and explain her departure and her wishes for the Combondi trial of knowledge. Androphit, along with the village a combination of Mathmagic, ancient Amonkhetan sorcery, and good old fashioned Kaladeshi ingenuity they created Treskhet’kophit, The Knowledge-Born. After the completion of the Magitech Sphinx Androphit returned to Ravnica to resume her position as the Omniscient Trial keeper.

The M.O.M commander product gave us a new cards related to planes walkers in expertness and paths. While the expertness cards are interesting but straight forward, the paths I think a low for more interesting creative with regards to fan walkers. So my question is, what is your ocs path?
Been enjoying thinking about these card design questions. I decided I wanted to figure out Desz's path and talent. So here's what I drafted up:

Random Planeswalker Prompt Engine v0.1
Find random inspiration for a new Planeswalker character. You might interpret the chosen cards literally, or might interpret them more abstractly.
This card represents your Planeswalker's Past. This is where they're from, or a significant formative event in their youth. Maybe it is directly related to how their spark ignited. It may contain inspiration about what type of creature they are as well.
This card represents your Planeswalker's Present. This is what they can do. It might represent their mundane skills, but it probably represents an aspect of their magical ability.
This card represents your Planeswalker's Future. This is what they want. This might be something they want to accomplish, learn more about, or even destroy.

Is there something your ocs gets homesick for? A person, a place perhaps a particular food they cant get anywhere else or a festival they can't attend anymore?
Ayden- He misses his time at Thraben Cathedral. He misses the stained glass windows, the stately stone walls, the high ceiling, the sound of hymns reverberating around the interior. The death of Avacyn created a big disconnect between him and the Avacynian faith. And now that Thraben is overrun with undead, it's not even like he can visit. He also misses the Cathar group he traveled with before his spark ignited. It was the first time he felt like he had a family once everyone got used to each other. It wasn't exactly good times while traveling with them, but the sense of belonging he had left an impression. But half the group is dead and a few don't even remember him anymore because they allowed themselves to be possessed by spirits to protect themselves from Emrakul's influence.
Corrine- She misses her parents. While she disagreed with their devotion to Avacyn even when she had disappeared, she still loved them. They remind her of a time when she wasn't jaded with society and when she was relatively carefree (hard to be truly carefree on Innistrad). She also misses their wonderful cooking. While what they could get wasn't anything fancy, she has fond memories of it.
Sylene- She misses her connection to the Worldsoul. It felt like she lost a part of herself when her spark ignited and severed that connection she had known all her life. Since dryads have an innate connection and are able to access the memories of those who have become one with the Worldsoul, it was very jarring for her to lose that.

New oc/fanwalker idea—Veena, a Simic microbiologist who shares a symbiotic relationship with the manatrophic microbes colonizing their body.
Since the little prokaryotes feed on (and can synthesize) mana, Veena wears a containment suit (inspired by old fashioned diving suits and modern hazmat suits) that they designed with the help of an Aether engineer on Kaladesh. Although they wear the suit to prevent their symbiota from spreading too much and becoming an eldrazi-level threat, they can be pretty handy when it comes to handling magical materials like etherium and lazotep. With a few modifications, they might even be able to feed on glistening oil….
Might draw them again!!!!

Fic authors self rec! When you get this, reply with your favorite five fics that you've written, then pass on to at least five other writers. Let's spread the self-love 💞
Luckily, I have written at least five things! <sigh of relief>
In no particular order:
Once Was Lost - The start of it all. I still “enjoy” the feeling that the inevitable approach to the gallows gives.
To Tame A Tiger - We are all miss Blaseball, RIV, and all that. I wasn’t as active as I would’ve liked, but I’m still proud of this piece, and how it gives a bit of character to an underrepresented player.
Future Past - While Once Was Lost is the start of things, this is where a little of the meat of the story starts coming into play.
Pulling Loose The Threads - Escalation is the name of the game here, and shows a solid link to the established canon, which I’m always wary about doing.
Holiday In Eorzea - Not just a Dead Kennedys reference! This is easily the most ambitious thing I’ve written to date, and it’s far from over. The sad thing in my mind is that it comes after a lot of other parts that are yet to be written. But sometimes, stories have their time and demand it.
Thanks for the ask, @brasideios! I’ll leave the floor open for anyone else who would like, but I’d like to hear from @kosmosxipo , @mossy-kit, and @cyndakip - Talk some Spit!

So, Sezashi has official art of him now, by @reubenyeoart! You can find the full art on their blog. There's been relatively little of him on this blog, though you can find his sheet if you dig a bit you can find his quick sheet.
In short, a Kamigawan Orochi and former merge-keeper, who's magic revolves around duality, allowing him to double or halve objects and beings, and some aspects of them (within limits). The art demonstrates one possibility of it here, with him having two bodies at that moment.
He's a proponent of harmony, of the coexistence of both of Kamigawa's world, of its progress and of its traditions. With the world slowly merging, he's worried where that might lead, and is interested in other worlds that thusly have met, merged or coexist with others to see what he can learn from them and how it might apply to his own.
And then March of the Machine happened, and now a large number of planes have had experience of others, and a poor one at that. He himself was wounded fighting during the events, though he eventually woke up from cryptic dreams having been healed and tended to.
He's not sure what he should do now, probably travel and see the consequences of the invasions for himself, but there's also plenty left to resolve back home.

Forzrand Lorris
Forzrand Lorris was born into a poor family within the 38th. Forzrand grew up near the line of contention between the Selensyan and Gruul guilds. Due to this while never directly targeted his guidelines family repeatedly found themselves caught in between the guild disputes. So at the young age of 14 he enlisted himself into the Boros Legion as a stablehand the krovods. When he turned 16 he was promoted to lead stablehand of the oldest flight of pegasi in the 38th, Flight Lawsky. At 18 he joined the areonaughts in hopes to become commander of Flight Lawsky one day. Finally at age 32 he fulfilled this goal.
As the commander of the flight Forzrand became a name known by every criminal of the 38th district. On the eve of his promotion’s anniversary a Dimir Assassin during an ultimately unsuccessful attempt on his life, managed to take out his right eye with their dagger. Instead of celebrating, Forzrand contemplated his new role in the legion. He was finally at the top, and that came with a hefty target. After the event Forzrand grew to be known for becoming the record holder for most arrests made by a single person within the history of the 38th.
Once again this accomplishment came with it’s tragedy. His record breaking arrest came at the price of his beloved steed Apovana. The criminal, a gruul giant by the name of Dorndiskorn using the tree, slammed Apovana out of the sky killing her immediately. Forzrand never felt the same, despite his new record he had lost half his vision, his hope, the goodness of people, and now his only companion. He vowed to Apovana he himself would die fighting the chaos of Ravnica.
During his latest arrest Forzrand was in pursuit of the speaker of Hall Skyclaim, Visri Alamora, A known fugitive with connections to the production of the highly illegal cytoplasm. As she ducked into the undercity the flight pursued her despite the concern of Forzrand’s squadron. Leaving their steeds behind the squad followed her into the Forgotten Zinote where she had been conducting her experiments. Forzrand cornered her at the base of the zinote deep into the original seas of Ravnica. Cornering her she panicked and attempted to open a floodgate yet was unable to. As Forzrand cast a spell of binding Visri sparked, Her cytoplasmic filled body erupted, coating the entire squadron. Their genetics began to ripple and mutate. Forzrand watching his entire squad face a fate far worse than death due to his decisions was the nail in the coffin. Forzrand Sparked alongside Visri. His sparking immolated his squadron, reducing them to ash, and freeing them from the fate he had brought upon them. Forzrand’s spark through pure vengeance alone followed Visri. The two quickly found themselves in the large world of Wynndryffs.
While we will go over the events of Wyndryffs later a few vary important details need to be said. Forzrand did not end his chase, he knew Visri just as lost as him. lucky for him he landed in the capital city of Brustifort. A revolution had just began and needed a leader. Forzrand happy to obliged created The Boros Legion, took down the government establishing it as his own. and set off on his manhunt for Visri Almora who had been busy building her own cytoplasmic army thanks to the lack of proper guild law and the fact there were more then enough subjects in the thick jungle she had landed in.
Flash forward to War of the Spark. Forezrand hears the beacon go off. Despite his current affairs he cannot help but aid his home. returning home as Forzrand, The One Eye Judicator. He had formed a new idea. He would find a planeswalker from each guild. together they would travel to Wyndryffs and take the land turning it into what he aptly called Ravnica β. So during his aid he sought out some of the most well known planeswalkers in the 38th. firstly approaching Octavio Winnotta who happily agreed. from there it was a matter of time until a representative for some of the guilds was found. Besides himself, He had found a leader for The Azorius Senate, House Dimir, The Orzhov Syndicate, The Cult of Rakdos, and The Selenya Conclave, He dared not bother finding a representative for the Gruul guild who he had developed a feverish hatred for throughout his life. As for the Simic Combine, Their leader had already been established.

A bit of a odd question this time around. So I been reading some magic story recently and it made me remember a scene where Gideon was training the Gatewatch as asked them to give him their best shot. Nissa proceeded to summon an elemental and punt him. So that got me thinking what would it look like if you oc gave Gideon their best shot.
I know I have missed a few of these lately. My apologies!
This one I really have to put some think into.
For Desz that best shot would probably look a bit like Nissa's best shot, though with a little more planning and getting Gids into the right spot. Desz's duplication magic is useful in a lot of situations, but requires some creativity to give a big "best shot". I think it would likely be something like the old cartoon anvil gag. Get Gideon in the right place, duplicate something hefty and have it drop onto him. Orethroz isn't the strongest when it comes to magic, he can cast a large variety of spells, but none of them are particularly powerful (in terms of game mechanics he can cast only 1 mana value spells within the colors he is aligned with). He is however in possession of a powerful sword (a blade of selves). So his best shot looks like many of him charging at Gideon from all angles, something of a swarm tactic.

Before MKM spoilers really pop off, I need the world to know that I am the sole inventor of the idea of a vedalken investigator in a trenchcoat. It's my fanwalker, Firellan, wonderfully illustrated by @bace-jeleren, and now shared with the world for the first time!
Tumblr media
I commissioned this about a year and a half ago, was delighted, and then squirreled away the PNG. Why not share it then? Idk.
Thank you to Bace for this awesome piece! After I successfully sue Wizards, I'll grant you full creative control over Kaito and the Wanderer. My best Azorius lawyer is on the case.

Do forgive me for the more esoteric question this time, but it has been bouncing around in my head for sometime now. One of my favorite tropes is the psychic head space, that when someone with mind reading abilities enter deeply into another's mind that they enter a psychic space that represents that person. Such as someone who lived their entire life in the military their psychic head space take the form of the army base they lived on, or someone with a very reserved personally head space might be a a tightly back cube with containers for all their thoughts and memories. The best example of this would be the Psychonauts games. So my question is what dose your ocs psychic head space look like?
I really appreciate that you still send me asks even though I take forever to answer them. I've been in a bit of a funk with my MtG OCs and really haven't been focusing on them. But this is a very cool ask.
Ayden- Initially his head space would've looked like an exact copy of Thraben Cathedral. Now, it's look like a combination of Thraben Cathedral, Vitu Ghazi, and Theran temples. Strong stone walls with stained glass windows surround the space with cultivated nature entwining around marble columns that seem to reach impossibly high, their capitals ending is storm clouds, and an open and airy interior with a ceiling that looks like it opens directly into Nyx, gently illuminating the space. Memories would be visible as stills in stained glass murals, leafy topiaries, and gleaming bronze statues through his temple headspace. Where an altar would be is instead a large pool of water as smooth and clear as a mirror reflecting the starry ceiling, which serves as Ayden's mental scrying surface.
Callum- Callum's mental headspace looks like a library vaguely reminiscent of of the Biblioplex, but that's where the similarities end. Callum's mental library would give a real librarian a heart attack. It's orderly to him, but to an outsider it seems like orchestrated chaos. Books and scrolls that constitute memories and knowledge are ordered in way specific to Callum's needs and whims, so they may change suddenly and fly off to different shelves and sections as his mind sees fit. Even entire sections of his mental library may move or stay floating in midair as he is figuring out where it would fit better in his headspace. A lone Cogwork Archivist roams the stacks in a never ending search for specific things Callum is thinking about, seemingly lost at all times yet still finding what it's searching for.
