Did you know that you’re supposed to leave the sticker on the Imperial Leather soap so that it doesn’t get mushy in the shower? The scent is so addictive and no, it doesn’t smell like leather. It’s slightly spicy, faintly like cinnamon, or myrrh, and then soapy, musky. You know when you get back from a vacation and realize how much you missed some of your things…. Like this Keratin Works mask which is so smoothing that it’s like straight-up sorcery. I love it, and this brand. I’m using the @amika Overnight Hydration treatment again and it’s so light and weightless. I sometimes even use it on wet hair and let that air dry. I know I posted about the @xotreatmentroom Wink brow and lash serum but after talking to Annie, who formulated it, I found out that it has 5% of each of the two peptides that actually effect keratin. Do all the other serums use this much, 🤷🏽‍♀️. Fenty Beauty blotting powder is in rotation. It’s great for setting makeup or sunscreen. Totally clear. Sets but doesn’t necessarily prevent skin from getting oily again. New Murad sunscreen is a @lookfantastic_ca exclusive. It’s completely clear even though it’s all mineral. A few empties. I haven’t posted in a while because I got tired of the constant roundup of these but now I’m back… I mean it was summer so sunscreen finished regularly, which is to be expected and I still have a few open because I’m still out and about. Anyway, let’s start with a couple of rose-scented hair products I finished. If you’re a hair person, @christopherobinparis has the best scents and they are on the strong side. I do like that. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If you're looking for a rose-scented hair product, here are 2 options, and you really get what you pay for. The @aveenoca Rose Water and Chamomile Blend Shampoo has a nice rosy scent, but it doesn't last. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The Christophe Robin Volume Conditioner with rose extracts smells strongly of rose water, and not only will you smell it in your hair for days, it'll give you a little scent bubble to enjoy too. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Some people don't like a long-lasting hair product smell, because they're going to add more perfume on top, and in that case, the Aveeno is perfect. You get a fresh rose scent in the shower and that's it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I also finished the @charlottetilbury Push Up Lashes mascara. When you see that a mascara doesn’t give oomph like it used to, it’s time to change it out. The huge tub of Keri is from last year. The @muradskincare sunscreen is totally clear and I have a reel of it posted. @larocheposay sunscreen is a fav and the @neutrogenacanada Skin Balancing cleanser worked well and smelled so good! Kind of fresh but earthy. I like the clay in it because it left my skin matte but it wasn’t too foaming so I didn’t find it to be drying. I would definitely use this again. Day 32 of 365 Over the years I have used several products by @muradskincare Love the eyecream … the multivitamin oil (still a fav). So when got a chance to try Murad Rapid Collagen Infusion treatment I was super excited to try it. The aminos and collagen in this treatment helps in reducing the appearance of fine lines/wrinkles. It also helps gives skin a boost if hydration. I used it as part of my PM skincare routine first as the last step prior to applying moisturizer. I had so much hope but this just did not work. It pilled really bad. At first I thought the serum may be causing this so I tried it without serum but it still continued to pill. I then switched to using it in my AM skincare routine and it was still the same result 🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️. It even came out clumpy from the bottle after a few uses. Overall it was not a good experience. Not sure if I want to try it again. In fact, Murad is a brand that I always have my eyes on but never seem to delve much into. I don’t know why that is because I actually have tremendous admiration and respect for Dr. Murad himself. And, fellow skincare blogger Caroline Hirons is a superfan of the brand (and the man!). . I’m intrigued by the new, edgier products Murad has introduced in the last two years. Murad’s latest innovations include two Retinol treatments — Retinol Youth Renewal Serum and Retinol Youth Renewal Eye Serum. . The Retinol Youth Renewal Serum seems like an effective Retinol formula and I’ve enjoyed using it. I’m never sure if Retinol is doing anything for me but that’s only because I’m #blessed with great skin to begin with. Notably, the formula is not “clean” (which is perfectly ok with me) and it does contain fragrance and colorants. Why?! They don’t negate the pro-skin health goodness of the serum, though, including anti-aging Retinol, replenishing lipids and antioxidant botanical oils and extracts. . Retinol Youth Renewal Eye Serum is my fave of the two. I love a gentle Retinol eye cream and this baby is light, hydrating and refreshing — perfect for daytime use along with sunscreen, of course.
