#neuroendocrinecancer #cancer #neuroendocrineRare #neuroendocrinetumors What is Neuroendocrine tumour? Whenever there is any imbalance in the working on these cells, tumors can result into which can cause neuroendocrine tumour. A neuroendocrine tumor can also produce hormones like these cells do. This is rare form of tumor and is not mostly found in most of the people. But not all the neuroendocrine tumors produce the hormone and so the symptoms may vary from case to case. https://www.omilights.com/neuroendocrine-tumors-symptoms-causes-and-treatment/ https://www.instagram.com/p/B_kGBpnnW1F/?igshid=1kv1x4pjzj4p6

An Intro To Your Medically Unblessed Blogger
My name is Alyssa and I am a 24 year old stay at home mommy to a three year old girl, L, and a super cute doggo, Otis. We live in the tundra of Minnesota with my wonderful boyfriend/L’s daddy. I am a big fan of reading, writing, cooking, rock music, makeup, tooling around outside in my chair, and making learning fun for my daughter.
I was born with spina bifida (lipomeningomyelocele). I use a forearm crutch and carbon fiber AFO leg braces for short walking distances like around the house, but when I go out I normally use a wheelchair with a Smart Drive MX2. They are some pretty awesome and expensive gadgets. I have had over 20 surgeries relating to my spina bifida on my spinal cord (multiple detetherings), bladder, and feet. It was a long road to adulthood and I am left with intense chronic pain in my back, legs, and hips.
I was surprised by two pink lines when I was 20 and my pregnancy went smoothly despite them being worried about how my spina bifida would affect it. I have a healthy and happy baby girl! She turned three in February and this September has been our first month of a Montessori based preschool program at home. I am happy to answer any questions other adults with disabilities may have about pregnancy with a disability as well as parenting with a disability. I found extremely few resources while I was pregnant and would be happy to answer any questions anyone has so they don’t feel as lost as I did!
Last December (2016), I was diagnosed with a neuroendocrine cancer. I had a tumor removed that had been growing for years, maybe even while I was pregnant. I had a hemicolectomy immediately after Christmas and 3 of my lymph nodes were still cancerous. But! My scans have been clear for eight months! I do not have to currently progress with chemo or hormone therapies! I am very young with this diagnosis, though, and we are unsure what the future holds. One day at a time. I have been following a stricter healthy diet following my cancer diagnosis. I stick to mainly a plant based diet as my system has a difficult time digesting meat and has not yet bounced back since my surgery. I deal with daily nausea and diarrhea (managed by medication, mostly) that may take years to balance out from such a large part of my intestines being removed.
This month I was informed I have arthritis in my left knee and hip. Currently I am working on a PT program to help correct my left knee bend and turning in of my foot. I have never worked on my walking mechanics in PT before and it will be a long road and has so far been painful, but worth it. I see the results of my stretches and exercises every week. My posture has improved and I am strengthening muscles in my left leg that I have never used before. I talk a bit about my PT to hold myself accountable to a program that causes so much ache, but has a positive pay out.
And that’s it, folks! That’s most of me and my every day life. I welcome most questions people may have about my disability or cancer diagnosis. Thanks for reading just a brief snippet of my medical history to get to know what makes me me a little better before I start posting more about my every day, my diet, light exercises for those with disabilities, and fun ideas for educational activities I do with L!

Emotional Letter From Irrfan Khan Talks About His Fight As A Cancer Patient
Tumblr media
Most of the people have been surprised to hear that Piku actor Irrfan Khan has been battling with neuroendocrine cancer which is very rarely seen. It has been quite a shock for the actor also. Following to the diagnosis of cancer, Irrfan has gone to London for treatment. Speed recovery is prayed for the actor by the fans and colleagues also. It is believed that Irrfan has been receiving treatment well enough to tweet and like a post occasionally on Twitter. Next movie release of Irrfan Khan named Karwaan with Dilquer Salman and Mithila Palkar is on the cards.
Recently, Maqbool actor has written an emotional letter. On the letter, he has told us that how he has been battling with cancer and why is it difficult to motivate yourself in such situations. Here are his thoughts below:
Talking about when he has first came to know about his rare disease, the Paan Singh Tomar actor has said “It’s been quite some time now since I have been diagnosed with a high-grade neuroendocrine cancer. This new name in my vocabulary, I got to know, was rare, and due to fewer study cases, and less information comparatively, the unpredictability of the treatment was more. I was part of a trial-and-error game.
I had been in a different game, I was travelling on a speedy train ride, had dreams, plans, aspirations, goals, was fully engaged in them. And suddenly someone taps on my shoulder and I turn to see. It’s the TC: “Your destination is about to come. Please get down.” I am confused: “No, no. My destination hasn’t come.” “No, this is it. This is how it is sometimes.” The suddenness made me realise how you are just a cork floating in the ocean with UNPREDICTABLE currents! And you are desperately trying to control it.”
Regarding the mental trauma, the actor has told us, “In this chaos, shocked, afraid and in panic, while on one of the terrifying hospital visits,I blabber to my son, “The only thing I expect from ME is not to face this crisis in this present state. I desperately need my feet. Fear and panic should not overrule me and make me miserable.” That was my INTENTION. AND THEN PAIN HIT. As if all this while, you were just getting to know pain, and now you know his nature and his intensity. Nothing was working; NO consolation, no motivation. The entire cosmos becomes one at that moment – just PAIN, and pain felt more enormous than GOD.”
During treatment at London, Irrfan has gone through a lot of trouble physically as well as mentally. So, he shares his experience by saying “As I was entering the hospital, drained, exhausted, listless, I hardly realised my hospital was on the opposite side of Lord’s, the stadium. The Mecca of my childhood dream. Amidst the pain, I saw a poster of a smiling Vivian Richards. Nothing happened, as if that world didn’t ever belong to me. This hospital also had a coma ward right above me. Once, while standing on the balcony of my hospital room, the peculiarity jolted me. Between the game of life and the game of death, there is just a road. On one side, a hospital, on the other, a stadium. As if one isn’t part of anything which might claim certainty – neither the hospital, nor the stadium. That hit me hard. I was left with this immense effect of the enormous power and intelligence of the cosmos. The peculiarity of MY hospital’s location – it HIT me. The only thing certain was the uncertainty. All I could do was to realise my strength and play my game better.”
About real battle, Hindi Medium actor Irrfan Khan has said “This realisation made me submit, surrender and trust, irrespective of the outcome, irrespective of where this takes me, eight months from now, or four months from now, or two years. The concerns took a back seat and started to fade and kind of went out of my mindspace.
For the first time, I felt what ‘freedom’ truly means. It felt like an accomplishment. As if I was tasting life for the first time, the magical side of it. My confidence in the intelligence of the cosmos became absolute. I feel as if it has entered every cell of mine. Time will tell if it stays, but that is how I feel as of now. Throughout my journey, people have been wishing me well, praying for me, from all over the world. People I know, people I don’t even know. They were praying from different places, different time zones, and I feel all their prayers become ONE. One big force, like a force of current, which got inside me through the end of my spine and has germinated through the crown of my head.
It’s germinating – sometimes a bud, a leaf, a twig, a shoot. I keep relishing and looking at it. Each flower, each twig, each leaf which has come from the cumulative prayers, each fills me with wonder, happiness and curiosity.
A realisation that the cork doesn’t need to control the current. That you are being gently rocked in the cradle of nature”

Oh, hello, 2017
I sincerely apologize for the unanswered calls, texts, messages, emails... I've been in survival mode for a couple of months now. We finally started getting some answers so here's what's been up.
Our dog broke a declaw so we took him to the vet on the 2nd... needed surgery. While they were doing that surgery they biopsies what we thought was a fatty tumor and it was cancer. Thank God he broke that declaw bad enough to need surgery because they caught the cancer early and he should be all good now - stitches even came out yesterday.
At the end of December I had a gallium scan (new PET/CT for NETs) which was negative and an MRI of my spine for ongoing pain in my back/hip. Despite two months of physical therapy and the area getting stronger, the pain wasn't getting better. The MRI noted something in my pelvis so I asked my GYN to take a look. She ordered an ultrasound which showed a 6cm complex cyst, the the follow up pelvic MRI showed it as well, so I was referred to a GYNONC.
Besides the pain I've dropped about 15lbs since Sept/Oct, started flushing on Thanksgiving, and have been so dead tired like I was when I was first diagnosed. Like can't get out of bed tired. Taking a shower is an accomplishment tired. Not a comforting combination.
At first the GYNONC recommended a follow up ultrasound in three months but after a physical exam and going through my history that option went out the window. Apparently neuroendocrine cancer loves the ovaries. This cyst inside my ovary is sitting behind my uterus in the cul-de-sac... which happens to be the very place I had a tumor before. It's hard and could very well be the cause of a good portion of my pain. So surgery is scheduled for Feb. 7th to remove my right ovary and tube. I'll be first on the docket and should be home the same day, and apparently stealing the one ovary won't mess with hormones or any of that stuff - the other just picks up the slack. He offered to do the surgery on Tuesday but I see Dr. Woltering on the 31st and feel like it's an important appointment to keep. This could be a benign cyst, in which case it still needs to be removed due to its size, or it could be a sneaky NET... we'll find out in a couple of weeks.
In the meantime I’ll be playing with my dinosaurs with the little man.

Shah Rukh didn't helped Irfan Khan in London
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Recently, news came that SRK is helping Irfan Khan battling with Neuroendocrine cancer. News was that SRK gave his keys of house situated in London to Irfan Khan. Now there is a new turn in this case. Irfan's spokesperson said that there is no truth in such reports. According to a statement released by the actor's spokesman, '' news about SRK and Irfan is just an imagination of a mind of a man who has run this statement. There is no truth in such reports. " Shah Rukh and Irrfan Khan are good friends, but the news that King Khan's giving keys to the Irfan and the keys of London's house is false. The news was that before going to London for treatment, Irfan's wife, Sutapa, had called up Shah Rukh and told him that Irfan wanted to meet him. Sutapa called Shahrukh to to meet at her Mud island residence in Mumbai. Shahrukh, who is shooting in Mehboob Studios, is only a short distance from Irfan's house to meet him. Both spent two hours together. During this, Shahrukh not only encouraged Irfan but also gave him the keys to his London house. Irfan accepted this after quite insinuating it. Read the full article
