honestly romo sokeefe with qp-cognate sofitz and friends-with-hashtag-undertones keefitz has THE MOST potential as a relationship if they would all get over themselves and maybe move past some of the amatonormativity. they're all so reasonable AND so reckless and at any given time two of them are egging eachother on to do some dangerous shit while the other is like "maybe we wanna live through this" because each of them draws the line in the same for a different reason, they all have something different that makes them the safe-option guy. If they each would give the orbe two am equal voice in their minds at a given time they could probably come up with some really great compromises in priority, and then throw in the rest of the gang and you've got plan-making central.

If each of these three deleted the idea that only one of the others must have their full attention, or that they have to hold back what they're really thinking to preserve whatever precarious bullshit they have going on, they'd be literally unstoppable. I know it takes alot of work to get there and they v aren't really in the right place for that and they aren't meant to be perfect, but like that's what character growth is for and I'm confident the b the of them are smarty enough combined to get there in the end.

It had actually been months since Romo had seen his best friend. They communicated every few days through text and there might have been one phone call but suffice to say it had been a while since they’d really caught up and spent any quality time together. 

I met someone. I’ve been seeing this girl. You’ve gotta meet her.

That was something that had nearly become a mantra in the last few weeks of their exchanges and Romo knew with certainty that his friend had to be getting serious about this woman if he was ready and wanting her to meet his friends.

They’d met more than a decade ago. Shortly after Romo’s release from prison and his campaign against the state for his wrongful conviction, he’d come into the tattoo artist’s new shop and the conversation that took place over an hour of ink forged a lasting friendship. One that most wouldn’t have pieced together.

Without a doubt Romo fit the bill of his troubled youth and criminal history. Those tattoos that covered much of his arms, chest, legs, and yes even his neck told the story of gang affiliations as a teenager and then a life of someone trying to make it up from the streets of East LA. His best friend was cut from a nicer cloth; born and raised in a more affluent neighborhood, educated at private institutions, and aside from a few pieces that Romo had done for him was much cleaner on the eyes.

Meet me Thursday night at the bar. I’m bringing her.

So there the tattoo artist was at the bar waiting for the couple to arrive while he sipped on a Corona after a long day at the parlor. At first when his friend had walked in he couldn’t get a good look at the woman trailing just behind him as his friend led the way through the not yet full bar. Romo had left his seat near the billiard tables and stuffed his hands in his pockets as he waited.

Hey man, fuck— we’ve gotta stop leaving months between hangouts, his friend had said as he’d thrown his arms around Romo. A chuckle had left the wrongfully convicted and he was about to voice his agreement when she came into view. For a moment he stared at her blankly his brain in overdrive as he figured that Kelia must be the new girlfriend while he gave his friend a squeeze and then pushed him off.

“Careful now we wouldn’t want your girl to get the wrong impression,” Romo teased managing to look away from Kelia for a moment before his dark gaze returned to her. “This must be the one, huh?”

what I wish had happened but didn’t: abby actually working hard for her and bonnie to have a relationship, caroline hating on DE in s4 for the RIGHT REASONS and reminding elena of the fact that she did not "jump into bed" on the first date but was assaulted, elena being free of the [redacted] brothers and regaining agency in s4, sheila having more of a presence on the show (and replacing the s*lvabros/al*ric as PRIMARILY BONNIE'S CARETAKER because she would prioritize her granddaughter first, but also protecting the rest of the scooby doo gang as well she'd also teach bonnie to value her self worth and not allow them to step all over her), BONNIE BEING ALLOWED TO MOURN the same way her white friends were allowed to, a motivation for bonnie outside magic, more love interests for bonnie, bonnie/qetsiyah interaction, caroline having motivations/storylines outside of male love interests, at least half the characters on this show being queer, luke parker being allowed to actually date men, nora realizing her exgirlfriend took the side of valerie's abuser over valeria and that she can do better/dating bonnie, katherine and nadia exploring their mother-daughter relationship, the mikaelsons and bonnie securing some kind of alliance

what happened that I wish hadn’t: d*roline (do i need to explain), tyler!klaus (it could have been an opportunity for michael trevino to show off his acting skills the same way nina dobrev did by playing multiple characters in one body, but instead the writers just had to go there), the second KC biting scene (which was completely unnecessary/recyled idea and totally could have been handled differently), katherine pursuing stefan instead of prioritizing her daughter

what i wish had happened but didn't: klayley basically "adopting" davina in some sense; and i wanted cami to be dark!cami for a little while longer so klamille could parallel steroline. also klayley exchanging platonic gestures (klaus's hand on hayley's shoulder, her hand on his arm when she told him kindness=/= weakness) should definitely have been utilized more.

nothing new by the strike i listened to the strike a lot this past year. a lot of their songs have a fabulous tempo that is perfect for furiously typing or running or cleaning or highway driving

this hell by rina sawayama when people talk about an anthem, this is the type of song they mean. anthem IS its genre. i jam, i groove, i sing along. i wanna do the two-step like in the music video

supercut by lorde i don't listen to a whole lot of lorde but supercut has a perfect late night driving echoing in the blue headlights atmosphere, with the echo of the vocals and the staccato in the bridges, it's very satisfying

Donato Porpora (as if there's anyone who doesn't know that by now..)

He is soo!! He's sadistic bastard yet still a loving dad, he's the most powerful non kakuja ghoul around, he is so so extremely smart, he's in jail and holding the very people that hold him captive by the balls and still avoided being executed even after 15 years. He is Everything, I love him sooo much and he is My Dad.

Least Favorite character:

I used to have this group of characters I disliked that I called the T Gang and they were Torso, Tsuneyoshi, Tokage and Touka but I actually love the first 3 and og Touka (still hate her :re self), so that's no longer applicable lmao. If I have to choose, it's probably between King and :re Touka.

King is one Kaneki's alters, from about the middle of :re on. He is one insufferable, self righteous, hypocritical, egoistic bastard that no longer serves any purpose in the plot apart from. you know. being there. He's an asshole to his people and even more to his friends. He looks at the horrors and says "I have the power to stop them but eeeeh why should I. Let's stop the only person who's trying, instead!" I hate him as a person and as a character.

As for Touka, I still like her in og, she's amazing, she's driven and she's strong with a strong character with a dream and a goal. And in :re?? She's reduced to Sad Housewife- oh wait no look she switched to Abusive Housewife- oh wait look she switched to Sexual Harasser But Makes It ~Sexy~ Housewife- oh look at that she's being written out of the story after she got married and knocked out. Damn who could have predicted that.

In Touka's case, it's mostly a case of Writers Hate Women, though, so I'll say King is my ultimate least favorite.

5 Favorite ships (canon or non-canon):

Utaren (Uta/Yomo Renji) - my all time OTQP

Matsurie (Washuu Matsuri/Urie Kuki) - I love you power imbalance, I love you D/S relationships, I love you one-sided love, I love you willfully becoming another man's dog, I love you closeted flamboyant men of high social status with a hidden identity that could be made disappeared by their own family in the event of disappointment

Shuuneki (Tsukiyama Shuu/Kaneki Ken) - I ship it exclusively if it's og Kaneki (either Kuroneki or Shironeki). Shuu deserves better than :re Kaneki.

Nishikimi (Nishio Nishiki/Nishino Kimi) - the only canon pairing that matters

Amoneki/Amonhaise (Amon Koutarou/Kaneki Ken or Sasaki Haise) - platonic/soft-romo

Bonus: Maruchika (Marude Itsuki/Washuu Yoshitoki) - lowkey but painfully

I don't like the revisionist history that Shuu always had teal hair and that the purple was an anime invention. The below illustration is from 2013, so before the anime. Ishida drew him with purple hair on more than one occasion, another one being the Past novel cover.

felt like drawing the strangetown teens as mystery inc (aka, the gang) from scooby doo - i tried to stick primarily to personality, though the more i thought about it the more i realized that there’s no real way to be completely accurate to personality and dynamics given the nature of sims and my own personal interpretations of both properties involved...
