Eddie Munson is gay and not enough people talk about this!

Now that I have your attention let me explain, while yes I’m a Steddie shipper this isn’t the only reason why I believe eddie is gay.

Eddie has some questionable fashion choices, one being a bandana in his back pocket, but what if it wasn’t just a fashion choice but more likely a gay code?

Which is how we come to my main and strongest argument is simply that he uses “hanky code” - which is basically shoving a bandana into either of your back pocket to communicate with fellow gay men that you’re gay. (Kind of like the “friend of dorathy(?)” thing) which was used in the 80’s.

Eddie has a black bandana dangling out of his left back pocket which according to the hanky code means he’s a top and into S&M

Also apart from playing D&D he doesn’t really have anything about him that would give him the label freak, and even then D&D seems to be a well known game with at least 9 known people playing it, but yet Eddie is the only one who got dipped “the freak” (Eddie “the freak” Munson)

So isn’t it more likely that at the time of the 80’s (aka 70 during which time he probably got the name freak) and a place like Hawkins (a little town with a bunch of old people) the reason he was the freak was because he was in fact a homosexual?

(I probably don’t need to enlighten anyone that this argument was based on homophobia during that time period)

Furthermore you can’t tell me that not a single girl would be interested in a guy who can play guitar and has decent to good looks (depending on your type of course), at least some crackheads would try to get with him for free drugs, but he doesn’t have a girlfriend at all so the most logical answer is that he doesn’t want a GIRLfriend.

And to all the people saying he was flirting with Chrissy, idk I personally saw that into sweetening her into buying something, calming her nerves to make sure she’ll end up actually buying. Which imo is clearly shown by the fact the second she calms down he instantly goes back and tries to cell her drugs.

I won’t decline that their scene was cute and I loved Chrissy and if she would’ve stayed alive for a few episodes they probably would’ve ended up being great friends but you all have some delusions if you think Eddie was just flirting with Chrissy /j

And before you come at me with “why wouldn’t they just state that he’s gay”

Well well well, they didn’t state it for Robin until Steve asked her out, and even then it was only because of the truth serum, they also never said Will was gay yet you all know.

And Eddie doesn’t really know any of those people (apart from his d&d members, but you don’t talk to kids about your sex life) so why on earth would the first thing -after already being hunted down for a murder- be stating he’s gay? He couldn’t know robin was gay or that Steve would be alright with it, so worst case could’ve been that they could’ve been homophobic and would rat him out because of this. So better safe than sorry. As well as obviously it would be kind of a weird timing to randomly come out to people.

the funniest meltdown ive ever had was in college when i got so overstimulated that i could Not speak, including over text. one of my friends was trying to talk me through it but i was solely using emojis because they were easier than trying to come up with words so he started using primarily emojis as well just to make things feel balanced. this was not the Most effective strategy... until. he tried to ask me "you okay?" but the way he chose to do that was by sending "👉🏼👌🏼❓" and i was so shocked by suddenly being asked if i was dtf that i was like WHAT???? WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY TO ME?????????? and thus was verbal again

i genuinely don't care how good a piece of ai generated art or writing looks on the surface. i don't care if it emulates brush strokes and metaphor in a way indistinguishable from those created by a person.

it is not the product of thoughtful creation. it offers no insights into the creator's life or viewpoint. it has no connection to a moment in time or a place or an attitude. it has no perspective. it has no value.

it's empty, it's hollow, and it exists only to generate clicks (and by extension, ad revenue.)

it's just another revolting symptom of the disease that is late stage capitalism, and it fucking sucks.

i still remember clearly one of my first interactions at pride with a 40-something member of the lgbt community. I asked him if I could take a picture of him with the bear flag (because I was really happy to see it irl for the first time!) and he asked, "are you feeling like a she-bear a little bit?"

and being gay almost exclusively online back then aside from maybe two friends, I was shocked by that question. me? a 19 years old kid who thought themselves to be cis and bi? I was basically the polar opposite of what a bear is.

but now, six years later, I see it. I'm fat, I'm hairy, I'm shamelessly a dyke, I'm masc. yes I'm butch, but fuck it, I'm also a she-bear. that guy was right. I hope he's doing alright and he knows he's changed my view on labels forever.

He had once entertained the idea that he wasn't really a Drake, a very long time ago when he overheard his mom and dad arguing and some words were said in the heat of the moment, but to be honest Tim always thought the obvious culprit of anyone being his dad would most likely be Bruce (Bruce even admitted he had a small fling with his mother but that was two years before her marriage)

But before little Tim's curiosity could really take hold on the idea, he had saw on the news Robin performing a Grayson flip and the hint of Tim not being a Drake left his mind. Robin was Dick Grayson! And if he was Robin that had to mean Bruce Wayne was Batman!

Then well... his stalking of the Bats started and the rest became history.

But now, as Tim was staring at his own DNA test, something he never bothered to do until that damned Demon brat wanted to make sure he was ONLY blood son of Bruce (and doing a DNA test something even Bruce never thought of doing due to well… how he was towards Tim during his first months as Robin)

He kinda needs to find out who this Daniel Jackson Fenton is.

(Tim finds out he isn’t a Drake, but also not a Wayne (because Damian wanted to make sure he was only blood son) but is instead a Fenton)

Sometimes I think about how Adrien, throughout the series, constantly grapples with his fear of abandonment. Gabriel conditioned him to believe that any love he receives is purely transactional, and that to earn affection he has to prove his utility. Adrien is constantly trying to prove his worth to his father for scraps of affection, and Chat Noir infamously crumbles on-screen any time he feels as though he is replaceable to Ladybug. It's a constant insecurity of his, like everyone will just dump him like a sack of potatoes the moment they find out how useless he is.

Meanwhile, all Marinette wants to is ensure that Adrien is happy. Because she loves him. She doesn't give two shits about how """useful""" he is. She holds him and tells him that she will never abandon him (both as Ladynoir and as Adrienette), and her fantasies are about saving him, not about him being "useful" to her. Throughout their relationship, Adrien is forced to disappoint Marinette constantly for reasons outside of his control (amok commands), and yet Marinette is still there for him.

At Adrien's lowest point, when he is forcibly torn away from everyone who had ever showed him genuine care, locked away in an all-white room and at his most "useless", right after disappointing Marinette and unable to even join the final battle or contribute in any way, she still saves him. She still loves him. Because he doesn't have to prove anything to her. Because he is loved and cherished for who he is, not for what he does, and that love is not conditional. Adrien's "happy ending" at the end of the first arc wasn't about him finally proving how useful he can be, because he never actually cared about being useful — he just saw it as the only means to feel loved and needed. Instead, in the end, he found out that he was loved and needed no matter what.

eight-episode seasons becoming the norm, shows being cancelled after their first or second season altogether, corporations not spending a single dollar to promote their renewed shows, corporations deciding to renew based on how many people binge it over and over and over again... this is the slow, choking death of media literacy.
