Hot 4am take but I feel like if we want to get people more interested in making their yards a more habitable space for wildlife like insects, we have to acknowledge that ‘Don’t want bugs in your house’ is still a 100% fair and valid point of view. ‘Loves nature’ and ‘doesn’t want roaches spiders and mosquitoes in the house’ aren’t opposites.
And with that in mind, when we propose to people that spraying pesticides around houses is Not A Good Idea, Actually, I feel like we need to give an alternative asides from ‘deal with it.’

One mistake I made a lot when I started learning English was writing both the auxiliary and the main verb in past tense—as in, "Did the rain stopped?" My English teacher had to really drill this grammar point into my head, she was like "the point of 'did' here is to indicate past tense, there's no need for another time marker." Me, genuinely baffled: "Why not?" Teacher: "Think of the 'ed' in 'stopped' as having migrated to the beginning of the sentence and become 'did'. So it's no longer in 'stopped'." Well I was sad to see it go. I pointed out that in French you'd say "The rain (itself) has it stopped?" and 'the rain' feels welcome to stay even though the whole point of the pronoun 'it' should be to replace it in a quicker way. But it would be sad if the noun & its pronoun never got to hang out together so we keep both <3
My teacher had a British look on her face that made my middle-school self wonder if maybe she thought my language wasn't optimally designed, and then she said that in English it would feel clunky to give the same piece of grammatical information twice, and "if you use 'did' then the -ed in 'stopped' doesn't add anything." That just sounded offensive, I mean since when do letters need to add something to a sentence? isn't it enough that they adorn the end of words & frolic with the others in friendship. If it bothers you so much just don't pronounce them. Idk, "did the rain stopped" felt so right to me. In the end my teacher said that "The rain has it stopped?" with the redundant pronoun is the more formal French phrasing anyway, and I was like yeah true we'd rather say "is it that it (itself) has stopped to rain?" and I felt like this really proved my point and I think she felt the same way

“Anakin/Vader has 6 movies, a long running cartoon series and a zillion comics and books about him why do you want a live action series starring him?”
Because Hayden Christensen has an outstanding face and is hot as fuck with a lightsaber hope this clears things up!

i know a lot of you are feeling like this was wasted effort, the entire fight but let me tell you something - before this, all i had were shows that baited us openly and us, knowing full and well what was happening, still supported those shows and settled for crumbs because "it was the best we could hope for". the actors, cast and crew made fun of our art and fics, not even hiding their disdain, and we just shrugged through it all.
then ofmd came along and gods, a brown lead? who thinks he's unlovable and then the show goes on to show me that he's the most worthy of love? he's a genius in his field and clever and kind and quirky and full of love? an older queer discovering love so much later in life? not crumbs? explicit representation? the cast and crew gleefully laughing at homophobes and racists right alongside me and people who look like me? even the antagonist honours the pronouns of the nb character?
it was cancelled and it's devastating and take your time to grieve but it wasn't for nothing. some of us were here back when things were worse. and are still living in places where queer rights are LOL. it means something to get two seasons of this, it means something that they made love while fireworks went off, it means something that we were on Times Square, it means a lot. take pride in that. YOU did that. All of that.
It didnt mean nothing.

does anyone else get so upset when you think about all the things that happened to your f/o... all the things they went through? all the things they haven't healed from? the pain that they may still be enduring? how you can do your best to help them but you can't protect them from everything. so you just love them the ways they needed before, how they deserved. and you see them happy because they finally accept, at least in some ways, that they do deserve it. they deserve love like all beings do
