Another life was taken unfairly. And it will continue until they've murdered the better half of the arrested protesters.
Tumblr media
I knew tweeting #stop executions is not going to stop the regime. We've done it all before. As long as they see the worse they could get for commiting genocide is a tweet from eu spokesman they're going to keep killing us in the streets, in our homes and in the prison. They're not even fired from women's committee in united nations, can you believe that? Well fuck the regime, and fuck the foreign politicians. There's another call for demonstration and there's going to be more deaths and arrests. Biden and Josep Borrell can buy popcorn and watch. We won't stop until the last one of us is murdered.
This is a tweet from an Iranian citizen that speaks all of our minds

[Image translation: For 43 years, the world powers waged fake war on mullahs based on their own benefits. Now they just condemn and sanction. When are they going to call their ambassadors home and fire mullahs' ambassadors?? Ok I get it, when this regime killed all 80 million of us they're going to make a statement and say "this regime is reformed now, they don't have any oppositions"!!! ]

Yeah, fine. Nobody wants to be reminded about how bad Biden is. So here's one I made about Obama. We will return to our regularly schedules programming of mocking whoever is currently in charge just as soon as democrats lose interest in my message the day after the election x.x check out @usauthoritarianism

as far as lok is concerned, i think that others have said this before, but the shoddy writing of it all, and the mistreatment of its awesome characters - i believe it reflects on bryke's political & social leanings as cis-white men with political beliefs not so dissimilar to the biden-type democrats we're having today - and it doesn't reflect well on them! idk just thinking on how lok dropped the ball on addressing political topics - both period-wise (during 2012) and currently, right?
i mean, yeah, but it’s also weird because atla (for the most part) set such a good precedent, so the politics of lok just feel so confusing if we are to interpret it as an extension of the politics of avatar in any way. ideologically, lok is such an incoherent jumble of ideas, that mostly amounts to liberal bullshit. i’ve always thought that if atla is a perfect bush-era text in the sense that it challenges & confronts (US) imperialism, lok is a perfect obama-era text in the sense that it seems quite progressive on the surface, but look even slightly deeper and it becomes clear that the status quo isn’t being challenged, it’s just been painted over with a glossy sheen.

I like. wasn't still upset about a couple awful professors I had freshmen year. like this was a funny story at this point
until ratemyprofessor let me know my reviews were deleted! they don't provide the TEXT of the deletions, or the reason. And maybe I did write something mean in a way that would conflict with their guidelines, i can't definitively deny name calling at this point though I don't remember doing so
So you better believe I replaced reviews of Only Art 1010 Professor At This School, Who Teaches His Opinion As Fact And Gets Nasty If You Disagree (likely removal reason: 50/50 chance of something along the lines of "masturbatory" was in there, because he also used HIS OWN ART as an "objective" example of good art) and the guy who 1) refused to believe I was absent due to a stomach bug, 2) was REAL sure it was a mental health issue, 3) decided it was His job to make sure it was dealt with (NO I'm not telling you what antidepressant I take or switching to a new one on your recommendation!), 4) got mean when I reiterated that it was a stomach bug and also, a music professor is not qualified to determine that in any way shape or form 5) reported me to the wellness center AFTER the semester ended (like a month and a half after the conversation happened) that I was suicidal (I was not, and I DEFINITELY didn't indicate such to him)
and i am actually angry about it again!

Upon assuming office, President Richard Nixon reportedly told his staff that foreign policy was to be handled by the White House, "not by the striped-pants faggots in Foggy Bottom."
The offensive language apart, such uneasiness about the State Department appears to be the rule rather than the exception. Recent presidents seem quickly to have concluded that, except for the Secretary and a handful of others, people in State are not to be trusted. Many New Deal, Kennedy, and Carter Democrats believed State to be hidebound and resistant to progressive policies; many Eisenhower, Nixon, and Reagan Republicans were convinced it was infested with suspect left-wingers and liberals. Regardless of party, presidents often are predisposed to blame State for unauthorized leaks of sensitive information.
— Foreign Policy, Spring 1987, "Why State Can't Lead"

Ex-Obama White House: “Killing of 4,000 Palestinian kids wasn’t enough”
Videos surfaced online on Tuesday showing a former adviser to former US President Barack Obama making Islamophobic remarks and harassing a food vendor in New York.
The videos, posted on the X website (formerly Twitter), show former US government official Stuart Seldowitz making provocative remarks about the Prophet and the Koran. He is also heard saying that killing 4,000 Palestinian children in the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas is “not enough.” Seldowitz says:
“If we killed 4,000 Palestinian kids, you know what, it wasn’t enough. It wasn’t enough.”
In one video, Seldowitz accuses the seller of supporting Hamas and calls him a “terrorist.” In another video, he refers to his “friends in immigration” and mentions “Mukhabarat,” apparently referring to the Egyptian intelligence service. He says, while the vendor repeatedly asks him to leave, stating he doesn’t speak English:
“The Mukhabarat in Egypt will get your parents. Does your father like his fingernails? They’ll take them out one by one. Tell me why I should go? I’m standing here. I’m an American. It’s a free country. It’s not like Egypt.”

this is your daily reminder that it's been over 65 years since cuba overthrew batista's US-backed fascist dictatorship and the US is STILL keeping cuba in extreme poverty using an "embargo."
back in the 1950s, using US funds and US-trained soldiers, batista (not castro) removed most of cubans' rights, including the right to strike, censored all media, and used secret police to torture and publicly excute anyone who protested his dictatorship. In a document released by the CIA in 2005, it stated as many as 20,000 people were killed. In return, batista gave control of most of the arable land to the US. during the revolution, this land was reclaimed and redistributed, which means that USAmericans can now sue anyone who "traffics" in this "confiscated" property.
Despite US sanctions being an "embargo," the US also fines foreign companies for doing business in Cuba, meaning it's effectively a blockade. Despite Obama lightening some of these restrictions, Biden has done little to undo the tightened policies from Trump's administration.
In November, the UN called for the 31st time (!!!) for the US blockade to end, supported by 187 countries and opposed only by the US and its bestest buddy (I'll let you guess who).
Cuba has been in economic crisis for years. Monthly income in Cuba is $30-60. There is very little food and it is hard to purchase anything like toiletries, clothes, and over-the-counter medicines. Domestic production is down because they don't have the resources to sustain them. The US has been intentionally impoverishing and starving Cuba for decades, and they continue to make it clear that it is not going to stop.
So, yeah. US democracy is a joke, end the US blockade on Cuba, and fuck genocide joe.

How Democrats learned to defend Israel’s ethnocracy
For a very long time, the United States worked diligently to stay away from the tense debate over Israel’s ability to be both a Jewish and democratic state. Even as Palestinians cried out about their lack of freedom and basic rights and their lives proved that a state having an ethno-religious character was mutually exclusive with it being a democracy for anyone not of that ethnicity, and even as…
