𐙚 THREE TIMES NANAMI MADE YOU CRY ⋆ ˚。
Tumblr media Tumblr media
featuring. nanami kento x reader
warning. referral to the reader as 'wife'
note. i just felt so mellow today — because a lot of sad nanami edits have been passing by in my fyp and i'm about to have a mental breakdown because of it, when i catch gege >:( a lil note, i cried writing this bcs i miss nanami so much help
Tumblr media
✴ ONE : WHEN HE PROPOSED TO YOU
it took him a short time to realize that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with you — he sees you cooking breakfast at the crack of dawn just for him before he goes to work, and he realizes that, yes, you were the one for him.
"do you want to marry me?"
your head turned to him slowly, eyes following just a few seconds after and you blinked, "i'm sorry, what?" you ask him.
nanami's eyes raised up to meet yours, "do you want to marry me?" he repeats his question calmly.
it was a day like every other — the both of you sitting on the couch, the television on yet nobody's paying attention to it. nanami has his eyes on the magazine in his grasp, and you were on your phone, scrolling through social media.
"yeah, of course i do."
nanami takes out a velvet colored box from his pocket and opens it up, you stared at him in confusion; wondering if this was a joke or not, is he actually proposing to you while you were in your pjs? but that actually didn't bother you — it was the fact he is proposing to you.
"marry me." he murmurs out softly, taking the beautiful ring out of its place, waiting for your acknowledgement.
your tears began flowing out and it took nanami by surprise, "sweetheart, i'm sorry. was it too sudden? you don't have to—" you shook your head at him, wiping your tears away.
"i'm just so . . . happy, ken."
that was the first time he made you cry.
✴ TWO : HIS WEDDING VOWS
your wedding was a simple ceremony. it was filled with fun and laughter, your loved people were there — his loved people were there, gojo and his students were there. it was just, a one fine day, really.
when it comes to the delivering of vows, traditionally; the groom goes first.
"y/n, i'm not good with my words, but you know me better than anyone else, so i assume you know that as well. we met five years ago when i bought a casse-croûte in a bakery you worked in; and if you had told me then that we'd be standing here and i'd be spending the rest of my life with you, maybe i wouldn't believe in you and told you that you were saying nonsense.
first and foremost, i would never thought that a one stop shop in a bakery would lead me to the love of my life — that day, i decided to stop by the bakery you worked in because my usual place was closed for the day, when i think about that, i get so overwhelmed; if my usual shop had opened that very day, maybe you would be standing here with another man, another man who is not me.
y/n, you are the most curious person i have ever met in my life. and i am pretty sure you are asking yourself now, what is kento thinking of right now? the answer is you. i am thinking about you now, later, and forever. from the first day you asked me if i liked casse-croûte, i have not once stopped thinking about you.
i was never a person who sought for relationship or thought of it a lot in the past, but when you came into my life. i began thinking of my future with you, making our own happy family, having kids, traveling the world, all of that. the moment i saw you take your time to wake up before me to cook me breakfast before i go to work, i knew i just had to make you my wife. i want to spend the rest of my life with you.
you love me and completed me in ways i do not know existed, and my love — i promise you, that from here onwards, i will continue to love you and every piece of you and for who you are yet to become. i promise to be your husband, your best friend, your partner in crime as you always like to name it, and your number one supporter, also as you name it.
above all, i promise to show you how lucky i am to have you in my life. i cannot wait to start a new chapter in my life with you, i love you."
it was safe to say that everyone in the room was crying, including you (and gojo, who had to be escorted out by megumi because the male was straight up sobbing loudly).
✴ THREE : WHEN HE DIED
shibuya. october 31, 2018. god, how much you dreaded every single thing that happened in there — just the thought of october coming after that year made your stomach churn in sadness.
the day a lot of people lost their life, including nanami.
nanami is a strong man, and you know so. you believed in him, never did you once stopped believing in your husband; but the whole time nanami was fighting for his and everyone's life in shibuya, you were back at home with your few months old son.
"daddy is going to be okay, yeah? he's gonna be back soon," you cooed to your son despite the rising wariness.
but no, nanami never came back.
the one to break the news was no other than itadori yuuji himself, the sole witness to your husband's passing — he knocked on your door, beaten up, although his wounds were tended to. you knew the shibuya incident scarred the young boy with something that couldn't be closed off now or maybe ever.
"he's not coming back, is he?" you ask the teen with a sad smile.
itadori broke down on your porch that day. and you, nanami's wife was the one comforting him, after all, watching someone you care die in front of you was traumatizing. but itadori blamed himself for nanami's death — he was baffled when you pulled him into a tight hug, "it's my fault y/n-san! i killed him. he's dead because of me."
as much as nanami doesn't display his affection to itadori, you were a witness to how nanami really feels towards the young boy. telling you how he wishes your son would grow up to be just like itadori, bubbly and energetic. nanami cares about itadori like the boy was his own — although failing to show it.
"did he . . . did he say anything before he . . ?"
itadori cried in your embrace, "he . . . said he was sorry. for not coming back. and that he loves you and your son so much . . ." itadori was barely taking breaths in, he was hyperventilating in your arms, "he said he was sorry that he won't be able to accompany you to malaysia."
"okay." you didn't cry as itadori was breaking the news to you, you couldn't.
nanami's death quieted you — you didn't cry the first week, still not believing he was actually gone. finding yourself sitting on the couch, waiting for the male to open the door and to call out for you, "y/n, i'm home."
but it never happened. nanami was really gone. he's really dead.
grief is such an odd feeling, you relied on itadori to look after your son for the first two weeks as you didn't find yourself in the right mind to be capable of taking care of your own flesh and blood. a day before your son was going back into your care — you went grocery shopping, to buy things both nanami and you used to buy.
it was a mistake on your part not to use a basket or a trolley, putting all the stuff on the cashier counter was hard work. and as the baby food you put on top of the pile slipped through your fingers and dropped onto the floor, splattering the contents everywhere, you can't help but to let a few stray tears out.
your silent sobs turning into a full blown breakdown in the middle of a grocery shop as everything began coming in, a reality check.
that nanami was no longer going to be there with you again, you couldn't feel him anymore, you couldn't hear him anymore, you couldn't smell his cologne anymore.
but the world doesn't stop for that, it will keep going and you had to go on with your life without him.

LOVESTRUCK, WENT STRAIGHT TO MY HEAD ⎯ S. CROSBY

The bitterness of the coffee wasn’t doing it’s job. On her third cup and it’s not even ten in the morning, Y/N waits for the next period of students to walk through her door. Taking in one of the few moments of silence she has, she refreshes the page on the sports page on the school website, itching to see her son’s name.
Carter had tryouts with the hockey team last week, he had been talking about it since the beginning of the month. He was training every day to make varsity; in leagues ever since he was ten years old every single coach and spectator could not brag enough on how much talent he had. Y/N was pressured to send him across the country, even out of the country, to go to the top hockey camps but as a single mother she couldn’t do it. She couldn’t bear to send her baby off to some strangers for a few months, and she couldn't afford to move away from family either.
But her heart dropped as she refreshed the page, pulled up this season's roster, and saw her son’s name and number on the junior varsity roster instead of varsity. She didn’t understand it, she was told by the coaches herself that he was the best kid on the ice that day. Why didn’t he make varsity?
Her questions were interrupted by students flooding into the classroom for the start of the next period. She pulled herself out of her thoughts to then teach this class period. Reluctantly though.
-
The final bell rang and that meant she was done for the day. Saying goodbye to her students Y/N started to gather papers and put them in the “to grade” folder to take home with her before tidying up some areas of the room. She anticipated her son’s arrival. Ever since moving up to high school he always stopped by her room at the end of the day to talk about school and help her carry things to her car.
“I didn’t make it.” Carter said as a greeting when he walked in the empty room. His face was defeated, his tall slender frame was slumped over in sadness and his eyes welling with tears. Out of all people Y/N knew and saw how hard he worked to make varsity his freshman year. He skated over fifty laps a day, worked on shots in the garage until way past dusk, he also started to lift more weights.
“Oh baby, c’mere,” Y/N pulled her much taller son in for a hug. There he broke and rested into his mother's arms like a little kid again. He softly cried before pulling away.
“I don’t get it mom, they told me i’d make it for sure, why would he tell me-” “Don’t worry about it son, I will talk to the coach first thing in the morning. I promise. But for now you have to play the cards you were dealt,” Y/N consoled her son in the way moms know how. Gathering her bags she gave the heaviest one to Carter to help carry out the building. They continued chatting on the way to her car, talking about school and homework he had for the week. Carter was a special kid, he deeply cared about his grade and education. He remembers promising his mom when he was younger that if he ever got to play hockey in college that he would get his degree and not go to the draft early.
Carter was a momma’s boy through and through. His dad lived an hour away so he spent the weekends there twice a month, but he’s at his mom’s house the rest of the time. Carter is also protective of his mom too. He never told her this, but he’s beat in a couple boys’ faces because they made some lewd comments about her. He’s respectful of her, more than any other man on earth ever has been. Y/N is very proud of how she’s raised her son.
“Okay son, go to practice. Have a positive attitude, don’t do anything stupid okay? I know you’re frustrated but just go into practice and do you, maybe they got you mixed up with someone else. But-” she saw his facial expressions change and get tense, she knew that he was still angry inside, “hey, don’t get mad at them. Wait until I talk and then you and I will figure something out.”
They walked in opposite directions, Carter to the athletic building and Y/N back to the school for one more item in her classroom. Hustling as best she can so she can get home, she runs into the person she didn’t want to speak to until in the morning. Coach Crosby.
She felt her body coil and tense up in anger at just the sight. She was supposed to wait until morning, but her tongue got the best of her.
“Coach! Hey, can I ask you a quick question?” she pulls him to the side, into an empty classroom where the teacher had left for the day.
“What’s up?” Sidney asked, sitting down on one of the wooden desks. He was wearing black joggers, a tight pullover with a school cap on. Y/N couldn’t help but notice how the material of his clothing clung to his toned body. He had been out of the professional league for at least two years, but he still kept up the physical shape of his body, and it was obvious by the way his pants were stretching at the seams on his thighs.
“I really don’t want to be that parent, but can you tell me why Carter didn’t make varsity?” Sidney cocks his head to the side. He’s only been on sight three months and he’s already dealing with this.
“Well, it’s my understanding that freshmen must be on the JV team, no matter how good they are. That rule was put in place before I got here.” He explained while crossing his arms over his chest, his muscles making his pullover look incredibly small on his frame. “He’s a good kid though, he’ll make great improvements this year and I'll look forward to having him on varsity next year.” Sidney said, trying to end the conversation and smooth things over.
“But…you’re the new coach. This is your program now, not someone else’s.” Y/N couldn’t really understand what he was getting at. Did he not see the potential in her son that everyone seemed to say? Did he not see the great player, the great athlete that Carter was? Maybe it was just her being a mother, and so obviously her child is the best compared to other kids. But she swore she didn’t want to be like those parents. She remembers being a kid in youth sports herself and hated parents who thought their kid should be player of the week every week. In her mind, she needed to earn player of the week because of her work ethic, not because her parents were board members.
“Right but I'm not trying to ruffle any feathers my first year. This is barely my program, I need to establish relationships before I change things here,” Y/N takes a step closer to Sidney, her hands folded in front of her.
“But you’re Sidney Crosby, who can say no to you?” God she feels horrible for doing this, she feels like…like some junior league mom whose husband has nothing between his ears. But she thinks, if she can just rile him up for a minute, startle him, then he’ll change his mind and put Carter on varsity. That’s her end goal, get her son feeling better. If that means pretending to be a horny college student again, so be it. “I mean really, they had to give you this job cause they trust you. So obviously you can do what you want, like putting my son on your varsity team.”
He sighs, looking down at his shoes. He knows what she’s doing…and he can’t believe it’s sort of working. He hasn’t had a woman flirt with him in heaven knows how long. He doesn’t even know how to respond to such a thing anymore. His life for the past almost twenty years has been nothing but hockey. Sidney’s family has been asking him for a long time when he is going to settle down with someone, but nobody ever scratched that itch quite like hockey did. But now? That he’s got a woman in front of him, a gorgeous one at that, who’s buttering him up? Maybe he’ll give in…just to see what it feels like.
“Your son is a hell of a player, Y/N. He really could go far,” His words got heavier as she got closer, he could smell her perfume, he could feel her breath, he could see her chest move up and down with every huff she took- “so put him on your team, Coach.” she put her hand on his chest softly and she sighed feeling his stern muscles. “C’mon, what’s it gonna take? Dinner and a show?”
His eyes, dark and blown, looked into hers and if he remembers what the term eye fucking means then that’s exactly what they were doing. His breaths became short but heavy as she left a heavy hand on his chest. She rubbed her thumb over his cheek, trying her best to work her charm that she used to have. She hopes she’s still got it.
He thinks, thinks, and thinks. This is a bad decision.
“My place, six thirty tomorrow evening. Give me your best sales pitch, and we’ll see about the show.”
Sidney stands up and for a brief second his nose bumps hers, an innocent touch but it makes him take a deep breath in to calm himself down. He exits the empty class room and takes long strides to get to practice, glancing at his watch he’s already a few minutes behind.
-
She’s eternally grateful that Carter is with his dad this weekend. How could she explain to him that she’s not really going on a date…but she’s going to his coach's house with plans to seduce him..but again it’s not a date. Of course, she’d have to leave out the seducing part. She put on her best dress that she had, it was pretty simple but it hugged her figure nicely. She made sure to spritz some extra perfume on as well.
The drive to Sidney’s house is silent, it’s her having fake conversations in her head about what to say or what not to say. Debating on if her seduction speech was still on date or if it’s too cheesy now. She suddenly feels like she lives in the lowest tax bracket possible when entering his neighborhood; she's never seen so many fake lawns before. She’s actually never been on this side of town much, except to look at christmas lights when Carter was younger. Now that he’s older he doesn’t care for that stuff anymore.
“Nice place you’ve got,” she said walking into his entry way. To her surprise Sidney dressed up a little bit, wearing a button up with a nice pair of slacks, the top two buttons undone for visual purposes of course. He takes her coat and her purse, hanging it up by the door. “What’s on the menu?”
“Well, I figured I'd go simple with just spaghetti and toast, with dessert to follow if that’s okay.” Sidney went into his pantry and pulled out a bottle of red wine. “This okay?” He holds the bottle in the air and she nods her head, sitting at his kitchen bar watching him pour a glass. She takes a glance at the label and she’s taken back. On her teacher salary she definitely can’t afford that brand.
Maybe she’s in over her head here- she didn’t think about any of this stuff. Suddenly she’s this woman who doesn’t have much to her name, sitting in a millionaire’s kitchen drinking wine that costs well over two hundred dollars- but damn if it doesn’t taste good.
They make small talk before heading into the dining room where he sets dinner onto the table for her, such a gentleman. Continuing the semi dull conversation she thanks him for making a meal for her, joking that she’s never had a man make dinner for her. Only half true, her dad growing up would make dinners for her family. But when she married Carter’s dad, she was the chef in the family. Not that she was complaining, it was just odd for her to be on the reverse side for the first time in a while.
“I am sorry about that idiotic rule, Y/N. Carter can easily be a varsity player.” Sidney broke the minute silence after finishing off his second glass of wine that night. She huffs, finishing her plate and scooting it away from her on the table. Was she really about to do this?
“Is there anything I can do, sidney? C’mon my boy’s in shambles, he’s thinking that he’s not as good as everyone makes him out to be,” Y/N reaches her hand out to rest on his softly. “Is there anything I can do?”
Y/N hoped he knew what she was implying and that she didn’t have to say it out loud.
And he did.
He understood every word she said and the words that were left unsaid. He knew what she was implying and he knew what she was getting at. But Sidney hated that he was willing to do what she wanted. Y/N was leaning forward on the table, getting close enough to Sidney where he could smell her perfume and her lotion mixed together, he could see a couple small freckles up close as he couldn’t see them from a bit further away.
There were no words exchanged between them, his eyes kept drifting from her tinted lips to her lustful eyes, back and forth a couple times before resting his hand on her cheek and pressing his lips against hers gently. Immediately he felt a rush of arousal- it’s just a kiss, really? He silently asked himself. He hadn’t gotten this aroused in a while, a long while.
Both parties leaned into the kiss, wanting and aching for more. They tasted wine on each other and felt each other’s temperature begin to rise. Sidney got out of his chair, lips still connected to hers, and got closer. She stood up, one hand cupping his chin and the other resting on his chest, and she leaned against the dining table. She hadn’t made out with someone in years, she hopes she’s doing it right.
She gets pushed onto the table just by the force of his body so now she’s sitting on the wooden table, Sidney standing in between her legs with both of his hands cupping her face. He doesn’t care if he seems desperate or if he seems needy, or if this is totally wrong and against almost all of the words he signed in his contract, he can’t seem to get enough of her. Sidney feels her play with the buttons of his shirt and how she begins to pull the shirt up and out of his dress pants. It was easy since he wasn’t wearing a belt.
He didn’t even know that she completely unbuttoned his shirt until he felt her hands roam all over his naked chest, her hands slowly raking up and down his toned muscles. He takes a breath and scans her body. Her skin is hot to the touch, her eyes are completely blown now and her lips are parted. “How do I get this off you?” he asked, taking a fist of the hem of her dress.
“There's a tie in the back,” she huffed out, not able to take her hands off his body. Plus, she wants him to take it off of her.
“You tied this yourself?” he asked in shock, surprised at how she tied such a perfect bow on her back with such thin strings.
“I’ve been tying, zipping, buttoning my dresses myself for the past twelve years now, safe to say I got pretty good at it.” God- has she been alone for the past twelve years? Nobody to love on, kiss on, touch on this wonderful body of hers? Sidney takes in a sharp breath when he pulls the dress off of her and he gives her body a quick scan over. Wearing a strapless bra that she’s almost spilling out of, she has on silk leopard print panties that he can’t help but notice a significant damp spot on.
“Fuck,” he mumbles, hands roaming over her soft skin. “Don’t make fun of me, it’s been a long time since I've hooked up with someone.” because that’s just what this is, a hookup. Nothing more, nothing less.
“I haven’t since I got divorced, so it's the same here.” she hooks her leg around his pulling him closer. He pressed his lips against hers again this time most softly. His hand goes down to play with the hem of her panties, “you sure about this?”
“Very sure, don’t mess with a pissed off mama sidney.” she pulls him down with her as she lays down on the table. He kisses down her body, she arches her back and lets him take her bra off. Tossing it onto the floor Sidney wraps his lips around one of her hardened nipples. She lets out a heavenly sounding moan at the action.
It’s been so long she could cum just from Sidney doing this for a couple minutes longer. One hand slips down over her clothed cunt, rubbing her sensitive and wet area. She arches her body into his, already she’s lost in a great euphoric high that she can’t even mumble words. All that’s coming out is moans and gasps.
He removes his mouth and Sidney stands up, she watches up on her elbows as he takes his pants off and removes his boxers. She bites her lip at the size - the sight - of his hardened dick in his hand. She reaches out for it herself, “you’ll give me what I want, and I promise you won’t regret it.” he thought for a moment too long, she began to doubt herself but he spoke up, “deal.”
She licks her hand before taking a grip on his cock. Slowly she starts stroking up and down, keeping harsh eye contact with sidney. She gives him a nice squeeze and a twist of her hand which makes him throw his head back in pleasure. He can only do so much with his hand, it’s nice to have someone else for a change. Y/N scoots closer to him on the table, with one of his hands he works his hand over one of her breasts softly massaging it. She leans into his touch and continues to work her hands over his hard cock.
He moves his hand from her breast down and slips it into her soaked panties. At first his fingers were a little cold but they quickly warmed up after being immersed in her sex. He circles around her clit a couple times, getting familiar with the female body again. He explores for a minute or two, his middle finger teasing her hole. The more he teases her the harder her grip gets on his cock. He pulls his hand out of her panties, they’ve never broken eye contact this whole time and he sucks everything off of his hand. God that was hot.
Sidney removes her hand from his cock fearing if she kept going he would cum all over her hand and that wasn’t what he wanted to do. He’s panting heavy now, his body forming sweat on his forehead. He pushes her down onto the table with a palm on her chest lining his cock up with her entrance, “wait do I need any-”
She chuckles, “that ship sailed a while ago, just fuck me like you mean it coach.”
With her permission she slides in and she lets out a long, loud, moan as he does it. He wants to hear that on repeat for the rest of his life, he swears. Sidney puts both hands on her hips, keeping her body steady as he rocks in and out of her, his hips meeting her every time.
Sidney allows to feel himself in her warm, wet walls. He throws his head back in pleasure and she shuts her eyes tight. Her hands come up to her breasts to add to the pleasure, fingers pinching both of her nipples as she feels his huge cock pump in and out of her small hole. He feels like he’s three feet deep inside of her, he feels lost in how good she feels. His head grows foggy each time he squeezes her.
Sidney hits the spongy spot in her tight cunt that made her gasp out in pleasure, she sang his name like a chant over and over which made him fuck her harder and harder. She warned him about her orgasm and he did the same, begging her to cum with him. A few more pumps of his cock he spilled his heavy load inside of her and she moaned loudly like a queen when he did. He pulled his cock out of her, watching his load spill out with it.
Maybe it was the post orgasm haze she was in, maybe it was the lovestruck feeling she had the minute they began making out, but minutes later she’s standing between him and the cold shower wall. His forehead pressed against hers. His fingers knuckle deep in her cunt and a hand wrapped around her throat as hot water rained down on either of them, her cunt squeezing his thick fingers while she couldn’t even say anything but his name. That’s exactly what he wanted.
The hot shower water kept her eyes shut but she knew that he was gazing at her. He was in awe of her facial expressions, how she bit her lip through a smile with every jerk he made with his hand, when she furrowed her eyebrows when she was on the edge of cumming, and how she cocked her head to the side while he kissed around her neck silently asking for more.
He took his hand away from her pussy, licking the honey off his fingers. He stayed that close to her though knowing her legs were probably jello and she wasn’t able to stand for at least a minute or two.
She took a deep breath, “got what you wanted?” she asked in a joking tone, moving her hand up and down his chest in the hot steamy shower. He chuckled, his hands never leaving her body. He palmed her breasts, he seemed to have a thing for those she contemplated, heavy lustful eyes staring into hers.
“How many more you got in you?” he asked, spreading her legs with his thigh.
“I can give you as much as you want.” Y/N answered, her hands slowly roaming down lower and lower on his chest and stomach.
“Then no, I didn’t get what I want yet.”
-
She woke up in Sidney’s bed the next morning with messy hair and sore muscles. Looking over on the nightstand the clock read 8:02 AM. She was glad that it was a Saturday and she was able to sleep in. She saw that Sidney was still asleep, he laid on his stomach with his head facing the other way. Looking over his back, studying the freckles, the faded scars. Y/N wants to stay in this moment for as long as she can.
She hates to admit but she really fell for Sidney. Not because of how skilled he was in bed, or because he could do wicked things with his hands, but she shared a few heartfelt conversations with him before tryouts even began.
He cared for the kids at school, the kids he taught and the kids he coached. He had a heart for the coming generation. He wanted them to have someone in their corner, and some kids don’t have that at home and he wants to be that. She got lovestruck in the past few months, sure she never planned on sleeping with him, she felt young again with how big of a crush she had. It went straight to her head, it all moved so fast.
God if her mother were still here she could just hear the word “slut!” come out of her mouth if her mom found out what happened. But she wouldn’t care. She enjoyed it, and she was sure Sidney enjoyed it too.
But still, she can’t help but think to herself what did I just do?
Sidney turns his head and sees that she’s also awake. Raising up he sees the time, 8:10. He doesn’t even care that he missed his morning workout session an hour late. He puts his arm around her and pulls her closer to him, tucking his head in her neck. With dry lips Sidney placed a tender lingering kiss on her hot skin.
It might be worth it for once, she thinks.

She had an idea that he had been cheating but it wasn’t confirmed until she ended up catching him in the act. It was late, she had been stuck in the library all day studying, finally able to go back to her dorm and sleep. Except she hadn’t expected to find her boyfriend in bed with her best friend. She was shocked, her jaw dropping, tears springing in her eyes, her heart in her stomach.
“Theo?” She called his name tearfully.
The two stopped and turned to look at her, Theo’s face full of regret, the only regret he felt was getting caught. Her best friend however, had started to cry.
“Y/N! I’m so sorry! You knew I liked him before you guys got together!” She cried.
“Get out, both of you.”
“Let’s talk about this, we can work through this. I love you!” Theo begged.
“You love me but you fuck my best friend! Get the fuck out of here before I kill you!” Y/N yelled at him, “And you, Pansy, you better go with him because I won’t be as soft as I will be on him.” With her last statement the two of them scrambled to get up and rush to the boys dorms. Only then did she feel the betrayal and hurt caused by two of the people she trusted the most.
The next day it was obvious to the other students as to what happened, her eyes were red and puffy and Theo and Pansy were together like nothing had ever happened. All of their mutual friends backed her and inevitably stopped talking to Pansy and Theo.
Her greatest comfort was Draco, he was there for her every step of the way, her good days and especially her bad. She was afraid to trust people after the incident, but she always felt like she could trust Draco. Maybe it was the fact that they grew up together or maybe it was the fact that he could show her the true Draco and not the facade that he put up.
As the two grew closer and closer, Theo got angrier and angrier. He was snapping at everybody, especially Pansy. Not only had he lost the girl that loved him wholeheartedly but he lost all of his friends. All for a quick fuck, the same one he lost everything to.
“What is going on with you? You’re acting like a bloody asshole,” Pansy yelled at him after he snapped at her during dinner one night. All of the chatter in the great hall ceased, all eyes on them.
“You’re a bitch, that’s why! I had everything until I fucked you! I had a girl that loved me and I had friends that cared about me! Now I don’t have that, all because of you!” Theo screamed back. Before Pansy could retaliate, Snape was standing behind the pair of them.
“Before you two continue your lovers quarrel, 20 points will be taken from both of you and a week's detention with me. I suggest you continue this fight elsewhere,” Snape droned to them.
“Stay away from me Pansy, I mean it. You fucked up my life,” Theo said before storming off to his room. Pansy chased after him but she wasn’t fast enough, her legs working overtime to catch up with him.
In the Great Hall, Dumbledore was quick to restore the chatty environment, everyone gossiping about what they had just witnessed. It had only been 2 months and it was obvious to everybody that it was a lustful relationship rather than one of love.
“I knew that wasn’t gonna last long,” Y/N giggled under her breath. Her comment made Draco chuckle.
“He cared more about getting laid than the wonderful girl he had before,” Draco added, which made her face get hot.
“Oh shut up, I’m not a wonderful person.”
“You are though, but good try.”
The next day it had seemed everyone had forgotten about the lovers quarrel. The new talk of the castle was the new couple, Draco Malfoy and Y/N Y/L/N. Theo was furious when he first saw them but then he noticed how happy she looked. She wore a bright smile, one he had never seen before and her eyes were shining brighter than ever. She was practically glowing and there he was sulking over what he had lost. Only then did he realize that he had greatly messed up and there was no chance to fix it anymore.

Reacting to GN Broken hearted!Reader
☆Staring☆ : Ace Trappola, Deuce Spade, Jack Howl, Epel Felmier, and Sebek Zigvolt
Synopsis: Yuu/MC/Reader gets their heart broken and tells their fellow first years over the phone. (Platonic rs w/ the boys) (the break up ended badly)
(I didn’t proofread this :b it’s too long and I’m lazy ehe)
——————————————————————————
Ace Trappola
Would first think you we’re kidding around so he teased and mocked you, but when he heard you’re voice crack and sniffles it dawned to him that you were serious.
“Awww such a sad tale” he teased, “Ace…” you called out in a warning tone but the sadness in your voice slipped out. “Wait you’re not kidding” he asks now completely serious, there wasn’t an answer on the other line because you were trying not to break down…
Moments later, the rickety doors of Ramshackle dormitory was kicked down, literally. “YOU’RE SERIOUS?!” Ace’s voice echoed, not in the phone though, in your hallway…in shock you ran out to see him trying to catch his breath looking like he ran a marathon
“BRO YOU BROKE THE FRONT DOOR?!?!” You yelled seeing him step on the door that was now crushed on the wooden floorboards “IRRELEVANT! TELL ME WHAT HAPPENED CUZ I CAN ASSURE YOU THIS DOOR ISN’T GONNA BE THE ONLY THING BROKEN” he shouted back…
Later that day you two talked about what happened while fixing your front door…Ace provided comfort by staying at Ramshackle with you to talk shit about your ex.
Deuce Spade
I’m gonna be honest with you, He wasn’t completely present when you told him. You happened to called him while he was studying for your upcoming test, but he picked up your call thinking that you just wanted to chat about something, not grasping the fact that this was a SERIOUS MATTER
“I have to tell you something Deuce…” you started, trying not to let your cries slip through, “Uh huh…” he answered, “It’s about…my partner…” you slowly said still being careful not to break down, inhaling preparing to tell him the bad news you opened your mouth to say something when he said “Wait sorry what was that?” sighing you shut your eyes
“No nevermind… s’fine…” you gave up “I’ll tell you tomorrow, you seem busy…” you were trying so hard to sound unbothered but a sniffle was heard by Deuce from your end of the line, he stopped what he was doing immediately and picked up his phone beside him
“Hey wait! Don’t hang up! Are you okay? Are you crying?” He rushed, now is very concerned, this made you finally broke down in tears. And also made Deuce panic he stood up from his chair and went out of his dorm rushing to get to you
“Hey it’s okay! It’s okay, I’m coming over there right now and you can tell me everything! Okay? Don’t cry!” He comforted you through the phone while running to get to the hall of mirrors. He arrived at your door step panting, hands on his knees trying to not pass out from sprinting all the way there
You let him in, gave him some water and you both sat down and talked about it, the moment he found out about the break up, and how it hurt you, two things were going through his mind One: Be there to comfort you while you’re sad and Two: Call Ace and Grimm so they can hunt down your ex and beat the shit outta him.
Jack Howl
May the great seven have mercy on your ex’s soul because he was prepared to feed your ex to the savannaclaw students. We all know Jack could never ignore his friends when they need him, especially now when you’re hurt…
“Hello?” He answers the phone while he was taking care of his little cactus garden, he wasn’t met with a reply, but he was met by familiar quiet sobs and sniffles, “What happened?” He sternly asks, all his attention is now directed in the phone call
“S’nothing serious…” you tried to defend, your voice betraying you, it was evident to Jack that it was in-fact something but he didn’t want to be pushy, “I’m gonna come over there, and you can tell me when you’re ready…” he said, gentle with his tone “Jack you don’t need t-“ “I’ll bring ice cream” he cut you off with a bribe before you can even protest, “fine” you said in defeat not being able to deny free ice cream
Once he arrived he sat down with you as you ate your ice cream, it’s a rare thing for him to do but this time he even let you play with his tail, while you were talking to him about what happened…
Hearing all of this he felt sad that you had to go through all that, but at the same time he can’t wait to see your ex at school tomorrow so he can give him a “talk” about “stuff”
Epel Felmier
He was in yet another “meeting” with Vil and Rook about something, he didn’t know what he did wrong this time but Vil was yet again scolding him for who knows what, until his phone rang and he said he had to take it. Safe to say he’s gonna have to stay for another extra 2hrs with his dorm leader after that phone call…
“Y/n, Y/n, Y/n, listen to me okay?” He said, walking back and forth the hallway outside Vil’s room, “They broke your heart, do I need to break their face?” He snapped, angered by you crying because your ex hurt you. He was aware that Vil and Rook probably heard him but that wasn’t his concern at the moment
“Epel it’s fine…” you sniffled, now you’re the one trying to calm him down. “Not it is not! Give me their number, and give me their address, I’ll make sure they know the damage they’ve done-“ he was abruptly cut off by Vil slamming his door open staring epel down with a “dont you dare” look
“please don’t, it’s really okay, I just need someone to talk to…” you said, you’re voice was hoarse, raspy, tired from crying so much, he felt bad. “Okay, okay I wont…But I will come over there though…” he said, Vil cleared his throat looking at Epel arms crossed, “I’ll come over in about 2hrs from now…” he corrected himself knowing what scolding lays ahead…
Even though he was mentally drained from Vil’s lectures, he still kept his promise and went to Ramshackle to comfort you. He was still infuriated with your ex but he’s there to comfort right now, he can be mad at your ex tomorrow…when he’s with the others…probably planning to hunt your ex down…
Sebek Zigvolt
Was suddenly not his usual self when you told him about what happened, the poor thing was so distressed by your crying self he forgot to say goodbye to the portrait of Malleus when he left his room to go to you.
“Human, don’t you know what time it is? Shouldn’t you be asleep instead of calling me? We have classes tomorrow!” he scolded a little loudly when he answered your call of course not trying to disturb his dorm mates “I’m sorry…” you said, you’re voice was weak and tiny…he felt a sudden pang of guilt in his chest when he heard you’re quiet sobs
“….Are you alright human?” He was suddenly very gentle with his tone, worried about you… “I’d be lying if I said I was” you tried to joke around to help you cope with the pain you’re feeling, He didn’t like this, “Please don’t joke about it… Do you need me to be there with you?” His voice was so soft, unlike his usual loud tone, it made you cry, nodding as if he could see you, but that was all he needed to rush out and go to Ramshackle…even forgetting to great his Malleus portrait goodbye..
When he arrived and saw you’re disheveled hair and tear stained cheeks he surprisingly pulled you into a hug, he was sad to see you like this and this is how his father comforted him when he was a child when he was upset… he was also hiding the fact that he too was teary eyed, both of you cried your eyes out while talking about it and went to school looking like bees stung your eye lids…
After that night, He hated humans even more now, with you being an exception of course
——————————————————————————
A/N: I wanted to add Ortho and Grimm but it was getting too long 😭😭😭 I DID NOT PROOFREAD THIS!! So there may be some errors, wring grammar, misspelled words or missing words.

9 days of Solomon: Humanity
TW: Angst, death and slight self harm mention, Hurt/Comfort
Tumblr media
"The Human Exchange students who have stolen many Devildom hearts" - the title of the magazine on Solomon's table. He stared lovingly, at the front page where you both posed for a picture, smiling at each other, your arms linked.
Your humanity - that was the one thing that he had sole knowledge of. He walked over to the window, watching you bid goodbye to the brothers who had come to visit Coccytus Hall.
He watches your tense shoulders relax, letting out a sigh of relief, the moment they were out of sight. The smile plastered on your face faltered as you walked into the house.
No more pretense. Now that it was only you and him again. He waited for you in the living room, opening his arms for you. You crashed into him without hesitation, breathing deeply.
"That must have been tiring?" He whispered, stroking your hair.
"Very much." You mumbled.
"Lets have an early dinner and head to bed."
"Solomon...can I sleep with you tonight again?"
"You know my answer will always be yes, MC."
It was going to be one of those nights again. You trembling and sobbing quietly, squeezing his hand with both of yours - after you thought he had fallen asleep.
He remembered the first time you did this, the sinking feeling in his chest, the searing rage in tightened fists, the devastation of seeing his bright and adorable apprentice in such pain.
You were definitely drunk from the human world cocktails you had downed in the bar. Else you would have never opened up.
"Solomon, I wish I could give you my pacts. I don't want them...I don't want anything to do with them... you're so lucky you got to live with the angels...Why couldn't Diavolo send me to Purgatory hall with you...I would have been so happy...I'm so tired of pretending it doesn't hurt..."
You were not happy at HOL with the brothers. That was the first truth bomb of many.
"I cannot stop having nightmares... I'm just a little human stuck among thousand year old celestials and demons...why am I here...I'm just a normal human... I'm *hic*...I'm so small...so insignificant...I just wanted a normal life...why am I here...why...can't I go back to normal..."
Solomon swallowed the growing lump in his throat. The way you smiled so brightly through everything, he forgot what an immense burden this would be for a normal human, how overwhelming all of this must have been for you.
"Noone here actually wants me... they're being nice to me for her...for Lilith...she's been gone for so long...and yet she is so loved...she's so lucky to be so loved...I wish..I really wish I could have that too..."
I do, MC. I love you. I love you for just you. He wanted to hold you tight and keep telling this to you. But he couldn't say it, not until you had let everything out.
"You know when I was dying...all I wanted to say a few goodbyes...I wanted to hug some people I loved...wanted to make some apologies...wanted to say a few thank yous... especially to you...But he didn't let me...he didn't let me...he made it so long and painful...why couldn't he have atleast made it quick...I wouldn't have fought to live if he just told me..."
Guilt pounded at his aching heart. He should have been there. He should have saved you.
"I'm so tired of the lies...Solomon, promise me if you run out of kindness for me one day...if you no longer want me around...please just tell me...I won't mind at all...I will do away with myself peacefully...I will cut off the pacts off my skin and give them to you if you'd like... please don't hurt me like he did...please, I just need one person to hold... without feeling afraid...please be on my side..."
Tears gathered at the corners of Solomon's eyes. When was the last time something has brought him to tears like this? He squeezed the hand you had placed in his.
You cried into his chest again tonight, silently this time. He already knew everything after all. But this time he held you tight, cooing reassurance in your ear, pressing urgent kisses on your head.
"You mean the world to me, MC. I will never hurt you. I don't need anything else...I just want you to be okay. I only want to protect you."
Your sobs were gentle now, softer, as you nuzzled deeper into his loving embrace. "Thank you...Thank you, Solomon."
"I love you, MC." The last thing he whispers just as you fall asleep, barely catching it.
You already knew more about him than anyone else. Noone quite fussed over his health and well-being as much as you. His immortality never made him less human to you. And for that he was eternally grateful.
Though the most of the humanity he vowed to protect didn't accept him - if it included you, he would happily die trying to protect it.

Dead Poets Society. 📖
10/10
— The damn tears… I can’t remember the last time i cried that much. It was absolutely beautiful. Literally made me into poetry. I’m reading and writing poetry. The impact this movie had on me is crazy. I wish i could forget about it and rewatch it again and again.
Tumblr media
— At first, i was so hyped up! These boys were going to have such beautiful minds and hearts, they were going to have meaningful conversation. Mr. Keating was a wonderful teacher and the boys were so lucky to have him. I bet those lessons made every other student’s school life a lot more interesting and fun aswell. Made me wish i had someone to inspire me like him.
Tumblr media
— This part was 🔛🔝.
Tumblr media
— Amazing cinematography, amazing lighting, amazing cast, amazing script, amazing storyline, amazing actors… It felt as if they were actually living their normal lives in that school everyday. I loved every scene and absorbed it carefully.
Tumblr media
— These two made me giggle so much. As someone who’s dealing with anxiety, i can say that we all need a neil in out lives. Because the guy inside us keeps us away from a lot of things and someone promosing us that ‘it’s going to be okay’ affects so much than you can guess. Even if that person doesn’t really do much, we feel relieved that someone actually cares our state of minds. That takes most the weight off of us.
— After i finished the movie, i scrolled through my socials and people were also crazy about these two. I didn’t really considered them as lovers but it’s one way to look at it i guess. 😅
Tumblr media
— As the movie continued, i started feeling anxious and my guts didn’t fail me again. Neil’s death was a trauma for all but Todd & Mr. Keating the most. Losing such a person that ruled the people with kindness and the leader who never asked but always needed of course made people feel empty. But losing your roommate who checked up if you’re doing fine, convinced you to do as you wish, promised to take care of you is just… So upsetting that i had to pause and cry.
— Also FUCK Cameron for what he did. He always felt uneasy with the group and tried getting along anyway. Then ruined everything as if it was his own and everyone began to feeling depressed. Mr. Keating opened eyes and Cameron had no right to poke his annoying ass in them. I hope he becomes whatever he wants to be but never seen in daylight ever again. Mr. Keating was a captain to all.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
— Todd’s poem, Neil’s play and failed confession, boys running to the woods to read their silly poems and every other scene was filmed so beautifully. Every single one of them had meanings behind them and i enjoyed all.
Tumblr media
— Everyone should watch DPS before it’s too late to feel silly things in your stomach for reading beautiful writings. Watch it before you grow up as adults.
🎬,, Oh captain, my captain. You will be missed. (Rest in peace Robin Williams.)”

Hello can I request a fluffy fic about how Jack would interact tereact their s/o while he’s using his unique magic? I hope it’s not too weird of a request
Its not weird at all! I actually think this concept is super cute 😭 thank you for the request <3 I hope you like it <3
Jack seldom used his unique magic, save for the times he desperately needed to. It took a lot of energy to maintain his wolf form, and it wasn't a very common type of magic, either. That didnt stop you from asking him to, and I quote, "Turn into the fluffy wolf again!!!" Wanting to preserve his magic (and avoid becoming your play thing...) He would find an excuse each time to gently refuse your insistent prodding.
There was one particular day though, one in which you found yourself deep in a hole of...well, stress. It was a rather difficult day, to say the least. Being the only non magic wielding student at an all-magic school, there were bound to be times you felt to be at an extreme disadvantage. You must had forgotten you chose this day to study with Jack, for when he attempted to find you in the library where you had chosen to meet, you were nowhere to be found.
Finding you crying in the garden of ramshackle was the last thing he thought you would be doing. You were huddled up in an abandoned corner of wilted flowers, hugging your knees to press against your chest as your body trembled with sadness. You heard someone approaching you, yet avoided their gaze in fear of embarrassing yourself further with tears to simply add to your "pathetic feats" of the day. You heard a gentle and familiar sigh, Jack dropping his bag and bending over to meet your eyeline.
"Rough day, I heard," Jack rubbed the back of his neck, "Do you... want to talk about it?" Shaking your head, Jack pursed his lips. He never particularly felt as if he were good at comforting people, for his actions always seemed to speak louder than his words. He wasn't used to seeing your smile fade like the wilted flowers, or hearing muffled cries escape your typically optimistic mouth. Thats when it clicked in him, the one thing he felt would be able to cheer you up...he hoped.
You heard rustling sounds before the familiar sound of magic casting, head flicking up in time to hear his chant and watch Jacks form morph into that of a great wolf with long untouched white fur. You let out a gasp of surprise as a smile quickly took over your face, Jack utilizing his now wolf form to nuzzle your cheek against his own. You opened your arms to hug him, petting the silky fur that you only dreamed of being able to pet.
"Get on," Jack encouraged, "I wanna show you something." You double checked if he was certain he would be alright with you upon his back, his response was eagerly inviting you on and insisting he was more than capable to do as much. He lowered his body for you to comfortably climb onto his back, hugging him firmly while shoving your face into his deep soft locks of fur. Determining you were secure enough, Jack ran.
He ran through the woods a rather short trip because of his sheer speed, it seemed as if only a few minutes had past before you made it to the destination, Jack allowing you to get off his back. Before you stood what looked to be an abandoned projecy, entering the decently sized house that lay on the floor between two older looking trees. The floors were crooked and the ceiling was rotting from moist wood, the inside bare of furniture and appliances. It truly seemed to be a work in progress that someone had decided was no longer worth the time.
"I found this place not too long ago," Jack admitted, "During a run. I meant to bring you here sooner after I fixed up a couple things, I think it'll make a fun hideout one day! Or a study spot for us!" You side eyed wolf Jack, raising a suspicious eyebrow.
"Are you sure you weren't trying to trick me into jogging here sometime with you to get my daily dose of exercise in?" He let out an (almost offended) chuckle.
"You're failing gym, it takes a lot to do that." He joked. You embraced him once more, shuffling your head between his shoulder blade and falling to the ground bringing him with you.
"I can't maintain this form forever," He said almost reluctantly, his heart warmed from the affection you gave him. You nodded into his shoulder and breathed in shakily, Jack laying down on his side and allowing you to cuddle against him.
"Just...a little longer," you muttered, "is it weird? I'm sorry." Jack shook his head, giving your cheek a small and affectionate lick and rubbing his soft head into the crook of your neck as if to hug you back.
"Not at all," He replied. You two remained like that for a short period of time, before Jack had to revert back to his original all too soon in your opinion, to his tall and strong human form. His arms were now wrapped around you in a normal hug, to which you responded with a kiss against the soft skin of his cheek.
"Thank you again," you smiled gently at him. Jacks cheeks took on a rosey hue, looking away shyly with a smile tugging at the corners of his lips and a hum of thought escaping them.
"Maybe I should do it more often..." You sat up in excitement, stars in your eyes as he almost immediately regret the words slipping out his mouth. There began the whole theatrics, You insisted that next time he take you on another journey on his back, or saying something silly about him being your "knight in shining fur" protecting you in a "cool" way against danger. You gushed about the stories you could write about some sort of wolf forbidden romance, and all the other things he heard you laugh about before. This time, he listened to you with love and attentiveness more than he ever had before, not realizing how much he missed your rants.
He was truly glad you were back to being yourself...silly, smiling, utterly perfect you.
~~~~~~~~~
I'm so used to writing for the third years KDHFKWJD I hope he wasn't TOO out of character! If you have any suggestions on how I could improve on this, let me know and I shall update it accordingly~ I hope you liked it and properly answers your ask! If not, feel free to send another one <3
"You have to shoot them in the head, or they always come back."
Ethan Landry x f!reader (not specified I think tho)
summary You knew you had to do this, he was a killer. You had to end this when you had the chance. But standing here with a gun to your boyfriend's head - no matter what he's done - you couldn't bring yourself to do it.
word count 1,200
warnings swearing, talk of killing someone, spoilers for scream 6, VERY immoral & unrealistic but it's fanfiction soo
a/n I'm not that happy with this so it's kinda a WIP. But just… posted. If this does get some notes; thank you for reading! I promise my other stuff is better.
Tumblr media
You had thought out all kinds of possible outcomes to the plan of waiting out Ghostface at the shrine of the two students (whose names you'd already forgotten). However, not once had you considered having to execute your boyfriend.
Beneath you lay Ethan, blood pooling from his mouth and brown puppy eyes watery and bloodshot.
Sam and Tara were fighting the only other remaining person behind the recent murders, Detective Bailey.
It had all happened too fast; Sam hit Ethan in the head with a brick before she and Tara tried making an escape through the emergency exit. In the chaos of the past moments you'd simply stood to the side, shocked that the boy you loved and had spent your past months with was the one behind the mask.
A whimper of your name pulls you out of your thoughts and your eyes clear, focusing on the curly haired boy beneath you.
There were tears running down his cheeks, chin quivering and gaze pleading, "Please… don't do this."
You shake your head to try and keep the empathy from overpowering your rationality. "Ethan, I have to…You have to shoot them in the head, or they always come back," you recall with a shaking voice.
You didn't want to do this. You wanted to go home and cuddle with your boyfriend who wasn't a killer. He shakes his head and winces, weakly clutching a hand to your pants. Your knees are shaky so you end up sinking to kneel next to his heaving chest, his hand falling to your thigh instead.
The gun in your hand is still aimed in his direction, safety off.
"Come on, baby, please," he begs, trying to look into your eyes but you avoid his gaze and look to the blood stained floor. "Ethan, you killed people I can't-," a sob leaves your mouth and you clutch your free hand over it to stop your crying.
He sobs as well and shakes his head as well as he can, "No, no, no..! I didn't want to. I didn't wanna do this. Believe me!" He cries and your heart breaks a little more. Just from the way Bailey talked earlier and totally dismissed Ethan you had a good guess at their relationship and how much Ethan had wanted to do what he's done.
You purse your lips and sniff, looking back at him. "Explain. Why did you do it then?" He breathes raggedly but he'd be able to survive - if you let him. He swallows and tries calming his breathing, hand still on your thigh.
"He- Dad made me. I just wanted him to be proud of me. Like he was always proud of… Richie," he admits, the name of his deceased brother a painful whisper. You pull your eyebrows together in confusion and wait for him to continue. His face is scrunched up - whether from the physical pain he was feeling or from the memories he was recounting.
"He told me if I wanted to be as good as Richie I had to do what he said. Follow the plan." He slowly looks at you again, pausing for a few seconds. He reaches out with his blood coated hand and clings to yours, fingers closing around your pinky and ring finger.
He felt relief and a sliver of hope fill his chest when you let him hold your hand, his thumb resting on the promise ring on your ring finger he had gotten you not too long ago.
He averts his eyes again and continues explaining, though his voice seems to get weaker by the minute. "I did everything but… killing. Quinn did that. We would switch after I chased them somewhere she could.. finish it." He winces again.
"I didn't kill anyone except Anika. And that was an accident. I didn't want to make her fall, I just wanted her to struggle! I didn't want to kill her, you have to believe me! I didn't want to," he whimpers and tears start running down his cheeks again.
You sigh and let your head fall, chin touching your chest. He deserved to pass away here, with the rest of his family.
But you love him. And no matter how many times you recall him and what he did while wearing the mask you can't bring yourself to pull the trigger.
You put the safety back on the gun and push it far enough away from you. "I should kill you," you remind him with a quiet voice. He nods and fully turns his head to look at you. He calls your name but you don't want to look up; you know you would fold at the sight of his brown eyes.
He says your name again, almost pleading now. It makes your heart ache so you look up and into his eyes. He grunts painfully as he scoots back and sits up against a display case, when he's sat up straight he reaches out and puts his hand on your cheek. His palm is cold and shaky, blood making his grip slippery.
"I love you. You made me feel like I could-" he chokes and coughs, spitting some blood to the side before he keeps talking, "-like I could be enough by just… being myself. I fell for you. So hard."
You're looking into each other's eyes when he finishes his confession, "I can't live without you. I don't want to. So please tell me you won't leave me after this."
You grimace. He may have done way less than all of you originally thought but he still ended the life of Mindy's girlfriend and one of your closest friends. You knew he felt guilty. You could see the regret and pain from knowing he had caused her fall.
But none of that cancels out that he did it.
"I love you. And… maybe I can forgive you someday. But, Ethan… Even if the others also forgive you, Mindy never will. And she has every right not to."
He nods and you both pretend not to have heard his slight whimper at your first sentence. "I need you to forgive me. I can't keep going without you…" he says again and your chest throbs. You're torn between what you want and what you should want and do.
Noone in their right mind would forgive him or even let him live. But you were in love and too empathetic for your own good. Sighing defeatedly you lean into his palm and look into his eyes, "You have one chance to make it up to me. To everyone. If they accept you is up to them, not me."
He sighs out in relief, another tear escaping him as he mumbles 'thank you's under his breath.
Hot for Teacher(s) 3
Part 2 / AO3 Link
After school practices for the Thanksgiving performance was only for the students who wanted to put a little more time into it. Apparently a bulk of the rehearsal happened during their music class and that made sense. Still, Steve was glad to put a face to some of the kids his son mentioned. The first night there had been a girl who's lip trembled at the slightest upset and Steve knew that had to be Yasmin.
"She's a crybaby who cries over everything", Shawn had said one time.
"Hm, need I remind you of all the times you've cried? Why I remember just last week-"
"We don't need to talk about that", Shawn said, properly chastised.
Even so, Steve could see how it could get a little frustrating to be in a class with someone as sensitive as that. And yet, Mr. Munson never let on that he was frustrated or anything like that. Every time the tears came, he talked her down. Which was quite the feat since he had probably been doing it for eight hours at this point.
"You're really good with the kids", Steve complimented when Mr. Munson took a seat near them to rest.
Third grade was working on their performance piece on the stage now while the smaller kids got a break. Mr. Munson smiled a bit as he scratched at his head.
"Yeah, well, patience is key, as I'm sure you know. Actually, how old are the kids you teach?", he asked.
"Middle school", Steve answered, laughing a little when he saw the other teacher's eyes get wide in fear.
"Braver than any marine, I swear. I will take spilt milk tears over the raging hormones going on over there."
Steve's brain decided to highlight the word 'hormones' which made him delayed in his response. He cleared his throat to try and cover it up. "It's not as bad as all that. I've got the babies of middle school, the sixth graders, but don't tell them I said that. And I'm lucky I've got a group there that's absolutely obsessed with science."
He met Mr. Munson's eyes and was met with a million watt smile. One that he knew was on his own face too.
"That's the best feeling, ain't it? When they wanna soak up as much as you can give?"
"The best", Steve agreed. It wasn't always candy and roses but it was all worth it for those days when everything just clicked. "Speaking of passions, did you get that approval for your ideas for the show?"
"They said I could play guitar, but they vetoed my pyrotechnics idea."
That night, Mr. Munson walked him and Shawn back to their car. And as such, became a routine for two days out of the week. Through it all, Steve commended himself for only drooling a little over him and only when he was alone.
At home, one Saturday, Shawn was humming his class' song while Steve made them lunch. He looked to the calendar and realized the show would be that coming Monday. Well, he knew that but it hit him that in less than a week, Thanksgiving break would start and then there wouldn't be much of a reason for him to see Mr. Munson anymore.
Just as the thought came to him, he looked at the school events calendar he had put in his phone and saw that there would be a Winter Dance but that it was for 4th and 5th grade only. He held back a sigh. Oh well, maybe if he got particularly antsy, he could schedule a confere-no, nononono.
He wasn't going to waste a teacher's time over nothing. Just because, what? He wanted to see him?
He said as much when he talked to Robin the next day. They were sitting in his living room, Shawn was up in his room, reading on this lazy Sunday.
"So, you're just going to avoid him?"
"It's not avoiding. I'm just not going to go out of my way to seek him out", Steve clarified. "And maybe this little crush", he whispered the word 'crush' like tiny ears were listening, "will die down."
"Mhm", Robin nodded, unconvinced. "You know they say absence makes the heart grow fonder, right?"
Steve leaned back against the couch. "There's at least one absence I'm not missing."
"...Don't tell me this is all because of him?"
"It's not because of him but...", Steve's eyes traveled to where Shawn's baby book sat on a bookshelf. Inside were the only pictures of Shawn's sire. And honestly, Steve wouldn't even have those if it were up to him. But he wanted to leave the door open just for when Shawn got older and could decide how much he wanted that man in his life.
"I don't think Mr. Munson is anything like him. Of course I don't. But I can't make a mistake like that again. If Shawn got hurt, I could never forgive myself."
Robin gave him a pat on the leg. "If you really think it's for the best."
It was. Steve knew that what was on the surface could be hiding something ugly underneath. He wasn't going to expose him or his pup to anything like that again. Mr. Munson was nice but these feelings weren't deep enough to swim in. Steve was barely getting his toes wet. He would stay high and dry and then Shawn would go on to second grade and then he would only see Mr. Munson in passing, if that.
Steve had all these affirmations in mind as he settled in to see Shawn's performance Monday. Planning ahead, Steve had told his school a couple weeks ago that he had a doctor appointment and wouldn't be coming in until later. Just long enough to pop in and see Shawn sing. As he had planned and rehearsed, Mr. Munson sat on a stool to one side of the stage, acoustic guitar in his lap.
It was all the school would allow and seeing as the kids' singing voices weren't super strong, it was for the best. Steve recorded the act, phone focused on Shawn while every once in a while, his eyes drifted to Mr. Munson.
After the song, Steve waved to Shawn, who waved back. He had told him ahead of time that he'd have to go back to work after seeing him, so that his son wouldn't be disappointed. When they saw each other at home later, Shawn's adrenaline from the day hadn't waned.
"So a lot of the other kids' parents took them home, so Mr. Munson let some of us play with his guitar!"
"Did he now?", Steve smiled.
"Uh-huh. He even taught us how to play. Do you think he teaches guitar?"
"Would you like some lessons?", Steve asked.
"Only if Mr. Munson is teaching it. He makes everything so cool."
-------------------------
Steve watched as Shawn ran ahead to go into the corn maze. Most of the corn was gone, so he wasn't worried about him getting lost as Robin went to get them hot ciders. Shawn scurried through the maze when he found someone familiar.
Robin had come back with two ciders that she and Steve sipped on while Shawn made his way through the maze.
"Dad! Look who's here!"
Steve looked up, expecting to see one of his little friends. Not Mr. Munson.
Not Mr. Munson in ripped jeans and a leather jacket.
Not Mr. Munson in ripped jeans and a leather jacket with chunky rings and his hair let loose, spilling over his shoulders.
"Dad look! It's Mr. Munson! Dad?"
"Mr. Munson! What a surprise!", Robin came in for the save while Steve was speechless. She gave him a subtle nudge that really wasn't all that subtle but that was okay because Mr. Munson was having his own crisis.
Because here was Mr. Harrington, enjoying a harvest festival, shoulder to shoulder with a beautiful alpha woman.
"H-hey, didn't expect to run into you here", Mr. Munson stuttered.
"Me neither", Steve said, voice a little breathless. He cleared it and remembered himself. "This is Robin, she's my neighbor. Robin, this is Shawn's teacher."
"Heard so much about you", Robin grinned.
Steve wanted to kick her in the shin.
"Hey, Shawn, how's about we go and pick out a pumpkin or something?", Robin suggested, grabbing his hand and pulling him away from the other two, leaving them alone.
Mr. Munson looked like a deer caught in headlights and Steve couldn't blame him.
"Jesus, she couldn't be anymore obvious."
"Did you want to talk to me about something, Mr. Harrington?"
"No, I didn't. But, I think...I think we should have this conversation anyway." Steve ran a hand through his hair.
They went to a little sitting area the farm had set up near the food booths so that they could talk. Eddie's mind ran a mile a minute, thinking of what this could be about. Both good and bad. He'd gotten a hot chocolate both to keep his hands warm and to give him something to do with said hands. Hands that Mr. Harrington was staring at right now.
"I um", he shook his head and pushed a lock of hair behind his ear. "I just wanted to-god this is hard."
"Well, let's make it easier", Eddie said. "Is it about Shawn? Is he having problems in school?"
"No, it's not about that. It's about us-I mean, there is no us but I-goddammit", Steve hissed, cheeks getting red in embarrassment. He let out a breath. "Mr. Munson, I'm having..." don't say feelings don't say feelings don't say feelings "-sensations, that aren't entirely professional. About you."
"Oh."
"And I know nothing can come of it, but I just want you to know that, to know that I'm aware of them and if I ever come on, I guess too strong, please just let me know."
"Um, for how long?", Eddie asked, hoping he wasn't vibrating in his seat because it sure did feel that way.
"Uhh, pretty much since I first met you", Mr. Harrington admitted. "And I don't know if it's because you've been looking after me and Shawn when we walk back to the car, or if it's something else but you just smell...you feel safe. And it's hard for me not too....", he trailed off, voice getting soft.
He didn't know how much that meant to Eddie. His first year of teaching, Eddie had gone on scent blockers, not wanting to overwhelm the little noses in his room. But one day he'd forgotten and things just seemed to run more smoothly when they could get a whiff of him. For Mr. Harrington to say his scent made him feel safe...
"It hasn't exactly been easy for me either", Eddie finally said. "Me too, since that first day I... But you already said nothing can come from it."
There was a hesitant look in Mr. Harrington's eyes. "Well, you know, why not?"
"Why...not?", Eddie echoed.
"I have my personal reasons for not pursuing this, but they mostly involve Shawn. If he doesn't know about it, I mean if we can hide it from most people, you won't get in trouble with the school. And we won't, you know get Shawn's hopes up if it doesn't become serious."
"Why, Mr. Harrington, are you propositioning me?" Honestly, Eddie didn't give a flying fuck what this principal thought about his private life. At the end of the day, it really was just Shawn he was worried about. He didn't know what happened to the other half of his DNA, but he knew that kids with only one parent sometimes longed for a second. He couldn't make Shawn think that was him unless this was the real deal. And he wouldn't know that for sure if he didn't give this a try.
"For starters, when we're not on school grounds, you can call me Steve."
"Eddie."
"Eddie, would you like to go out with me sometime?"
Steve's face was a mix of hopeful and confident that Eddie wouldn't be forgetting anytime soon. "I'd love to."
Part 4
There is absolutely some angst with Steve's baby daddy comin down the line. I came up with it where I come up with all my best ideas, half asleep when I wake up in the morning.
Ink and Magic - The Rose-Red Tyrant
Author Notes: So this is a sort of halfway non canon compliant what if with the overblots and their aftermath. I've been considering, for quite some time now, why the Prefect (reader) gets to see what amounts to the overblot victims memories and hear what seems to be their thoughts regarding said memories. So I guess you could say this is a kind of headcanon for what happens in those moments. This isn't exactly romantic. in fact, I would say it counts as more platonic, but it certainly can be taken as shippy. This will also be a series, though the Diasomnia section won't come out until that entire matter is resolved in game. As per usual, reader is gender-neutral. I hope you enjoy!
Spoilers for Book 1: The Rose-Red Tyrant!!
Type: Gender-neutral reader/ fic series/ Can be platonic or romantic/ fluff/ angst/ comfort/ Spoilers for Heartslabul overblot.
The ground was a brutal red. Covered in crushed and bruised rose petals that mixed with dark ink and made everything slippery.
All I could hear were the screams and shouts from those nearby, but rather than fleeing or continuing to shout directions and warnings until my voice was hoarse, I stood silently. Watching in quiet horror as Riddle stumbled, reeling from the magical attacks he’d just received from his fellow dorm-mates.
His once soft gray eyes were a violent red and wide open as he stared at me with an expression that spoke of shock. Like his entire world had just come crashing down like a house of cards around him.
He was no longer a form of horror, as the monstrosity behind him collapsed in a flood of ink that spread across the already-soaked ground.
Instead, Riddle now looked pitiful. Like a lost child. He was trembling all over, but he’d at long last stopped attacking, and I honestly wondered if he’d simply run out of steam.
But as I looked at him, an unexpected sorrow swelled within my heart and caught me off-guard as the young man looked down at his hands, still blackened with ink stains.
Bitter tears began to fill his red eyes, and his previously loud voice wavered as he began to speak, “I…. I was wrong?! But that’s…. Impossible…..”
His hands came up to cover his eyes and hide the tears that now threatened to roll down his too-pale face.
 He was no longer a creature perfectly fit for nightmares, and my heart seized painfully at his next words. So soft and broken that they were barely audible, “Isn’t it…Mother?”
 With those words, he gave a shudder and stumbled forward, his hands limply falling away from his face, which was now streaked with ink from his stained hands.
This was a Riddle I’d never seen before. One that was completely different from the mature but tyrannical young man I’d met.
 This was a young boy who was lost, broken, and one that I simply couldn’t abandon in this moment.
I didn’t know if it was instinct or something else, but something drove me forwards. Spurring me into running towards the young man, who had begun to collapse forward.
My feet slid against the inky but tattered rose petals that littered the ground. Evidence of the horror we’d all just witnessed. The other students' voices followed me as they let out alarmed cries. Ace’s voice was perhaps the most prominent as he shouted my name.
The panic in his voice almost made me want to stop even as my tired legs continued to carry me forward.
In truth, I had only one thought in my mind: that the young man in front of me, Riddle, didn’t need to be alone.
It was a truth that was whispered to me from within my own mind. Something I knew as a solid fact even though I had no proof.
I barely even knew Riddle. All I knew of him was tyranny.
But I held out my arms, catching the small young man that I now realized was quite frail despite the immense magical power he possessed.
 He clung desperately to my shirt with trembling hands, and a sob tore its way out of him. I could practically feel the cold ink staining my shirt as it seeped through the thin fabric, and we both sank to the ground.
He was exhausted, with his head drooping towards me like he could no longer stay awake. And as my knees hit the soggy ground, a wave of fatigue washed over me that promised me peace if I would just let it carry me away.
I faintly heard my name get called yet again, but it sounded far enough away to be in an entirely other world.
Perhaps it was a voice from my world, trying to call me back home.
But even with that thought in mind, I didn’t respond. Instead, I fell into a darkness that consumed me, and I slumped forward. Still holding the small, broken boy close to me. As if that could bring him the peace he seemed to so desperately need.
But I wasn’t meant to slumber peacefully here, and though the deep darkness of what I thought was deep sleep surrounded me, I was not truly resting.
I looked around in confusion, looking for someone else in this deep darkness. After all, it didn’t feel like I was alone. It felt like I was surrounded in a space that was filled with only myself and one other person.
 It was a strange sensation, one that left me feeling out of my depth as I glanced around in confusion. Finding that here, I was no longer exhausted or sore from the events that had just unfolded in Heartslabyul.
Like a glitch on a television screen, the blackness flickered, and a hazy scene appeared. That reminded me of an old black-and-white movie recording.
Even the voices were crackly.
“Happy 8th Birthday Riddle….” I frowned slightly and shook my head, wondering what I was seeing.
I had to be dreaming, but…. Something about this didn’t feel like a dream. It felt more like I was trying to sift through my memories and was instead being faced with wholly unfamiliar images.
A large woman stood, smiling down at an adorable red-haired boy whose face I immediately recognized with an alarmed jolt.
Riddle. Without a doubt, that was the very same young man who’d just attacked me, my friends, and the other members of the Heartslabyul dorm in the midst of what I could only describe as a psychotic break.
I stared in a strange mixture of fascination and confusion at the scene before me as a voice that, unlike the others, was perfectly clear began to narrate the scene that lay before me. Riddle’s voice.
It sounded like he was right next to me, but when I turned, he was nowhere to be seen. Instead, I appeared to be alone.
Alone, but I was wholly surrounded by the scene of what seemed to be his, Riddle’s, childhood.
 “I’d always wanted to try one of those tarts with the bright red strawberries….”
His voice was as solemn as ever as it calmly explained the thoughts and feelings of the child Riddle, who seemed to star in all of these scenes. But the image before me did not stay peaceful, and I soon came to realize a darker truth about what was unfolding in front of me.
I listened and watched with mounting horror as memories from Riddle’s childhood, barren of playing and fun, played in front of me like a film. Every bit of it was narrated by a numb-sounding Riddle himself.
My eyes went wide as a young, brightly smiling Trey flashed in front of me. He was accompanied by another boy, whom I soon realized was that cat-like fellow I’d met in the Heartslabyul maze. Chenya, I believed his name was.
It was then, right after their appearance, that everything truly began to snowball out of control.
Tiny Riddle finally got to experience the joys of childhood, only to be caught by his mother, who enforced even more rigorous rules on him. And it was painful to see the small child, who would someday become the young man I’d met not too long ago, weep as he was denied some of the most basic aspects of childhood.
I was beyond enraged on behalf of the small child in front of me. But what made it worse was Riddle’s voice, which was still narrating each scene even though tears were slowly beginning to choke off his voice, “But Mom… Why? Why does my heart hurt so much?”
I covered my mouth, as if that could somehow help me cope, as I listened to the young man whom I could hear crying, but I couldn’t see nor comfort.
The scene in front of me slowly faded to black, leaving me only with Riddle’s voice, begging for an explanation as I turned, searching for him in vain. But he was invisible, in this darkness, as he pleaded for an answer to his questions, “Tell me, Mom, please….. What rule do I need to follow to make this pain go away?”
I closed my eyes, shaking my head as if that could somehow help me figure out what to do, and then, like flipping a switch, it all stopped.
I opened my eyes wearily, only to find I’d been crying silently as I‘d held Riddle close to my chest. My cheeks were even still wet, judging from how cold the breeze was on my face.
Riddle himself was still asleep. His expression slowly relaxed from an upset that matched his tear-choked voice, which I’d just been listening to, to a more peaceful one that suited him far better.
And it was a relief to see him relax after having seen what I’d just witnessed in whatever that dream was.
 One of his hands was still fisted in my shirt as he clung to me like a small child, causing me to smile slightly even as I shifted to better examine him. I froze mid-motion as I heard a sharp inhale from just next to me. It was then that I realized that both me and Riddle were not, in fact, being supported by one another.
Instead, it was the young man who knelt next to us who held us upright with his arms wrapped securely around the two of us in a sort of embrace.
I looked over and made eye contact with warm, honey-colored eyes that stared at me, relief sweeping through them as I managed to croak out the man’s name, “Trey.”
He let out an exhale, a relieved smile appearing on his face as his grip on my arm tightened ever so slightly, almost like he was trying to reassure himself that I really was present and that all was well.
“Thank goodness. You’re back,” His voice was soft, more of a breath than anything, and I couldn’t help but wonder what he meant by ‘back’.
But I didn’t get to ask, and he didn’t get to continue since I heard three familiar voices both yell the same name at the same time.
“Y/N!”
I half turned, finding I was still exhausted and slumping against Trey a bit more as I spotted Ace and Deuce both staring at me in wide-eyed relief before they both took off as Cater, who was right behind them, was still turning to look at me.
The two boys' feet dug into the still-inky ground as they darted towards where I knelt with Trey and Riddle.
Deuce reached us first, hitting his knees and grasping my arms as he scanned me for injury, “Are you alright?”
His voice was trembling as he questioned me, looking up at me with wide, panicked eyes. His expression was mirrored by Ace, who was desperately asking me what had happened while Cater appeared behind them. Carefully scanning both me and Riddle.
“Hey, hey. You’re crowding them. They only just came too,” Trey’s grip on me shifted in an almost protective fashion as he spoke, and I realized I was still relying heavily on him for support.
Crowley walked up far more slowly than the others, his eyes on me and a frown on his face as he began to open his mouth to say something.
But before he could speak, one of Riddle’s hands, which had been gripping my arm this entire time, tightened slightly, and he made a mumbling sound.
All eyes darted to the young man, who slowly opened his eyes, once more a soft grey not unlike that of a dove’s feathers, with a groan.
He looked up, making eye contact with me before looking at Trey and then back at me.
Cater was saying something to both of us, but I'd tuned it out almost completely as I scanned the boy for any injuries.
Riddle continued to look up at me with hazy eyes as I carefully scanned his small form, frowning as I noted exactly how exhausted he still looked.
After a brief moment, though, he pulled away from both me and Trey. Distancing himself as his eyes slowly cleared and the gravity of the entire situation sank in.
From there, the situation devolved fairly quickly, with numerous questions being asked and reconciliations being made. Trey swept in towards the end of things, with Cater by his side like two concerned parents. Demanding that me and Riddle both go to the infirmary for a checkup.
It wasn’t until we were alone in that cold room filled with cots that Riddle made eye contact with me once more, “My… memories. You saw them, didn’t you?”
I was silent for a moment as I recalled those strange scenes in flickering black-and-white before I at last nodded, “Yes, I don’t know what caused it but…. Yes, I believe I did…. I heard you too.”
He nodded, falling silent as we waited for the nurse to enter and give us a clean bill of health. After a few moments, he met my gaze again, “I think we…. Connected for a moment there. I don’t know how, but you saw my memories and heard my thoughts. And I… I felt you there.”
I watched him quietly, not sure of what to say as he fell silent. But I couldn’t blame him. I too wouldn’t know what to say or think if some had seen my memories.
After a moment, though, he looked over at me with a troubled expression before he spoke  quietly, “If I were you, I would tell the Headmaster about this.”
I nodded, unsure of what to say since something told me neither of us knew what this meant for me or him.
“Then why didn’t you say anything?”
“What should I say then? ‘Hi, I’m Obanai, the boy from the foster home who also didn’t manage to save your sister from the fire. How are you?’”
His words offended you. But before you could leave the room, a cold hand wrapped around yours, pulling you back inside his lonely classroom. You turned to look at him, and there, the nonchalant facade that Obanai always had shattered.
Frustrations and regret masked his face as he held your hand tighter, not letting you go. And without wasting a second...
"Y/N, I didn't know how to tell you," he confessed, his voice thick with emotion. "I thought it was best to leave the past buried."
But you couldn't suppress all the reminiscence that came flashing in her head—the smell of burnt wood, the shouts of the children as they cried because their teachers were left inside, your sight blurred by your tears, and the agony the bad news had brought to you.
"You're here now, unscathed. So why didn't you save my sister?"
Your voice trembled with the weight of the accusation, and your eyes were brimming with unshed tears. You were lost for words as you felt your knees weaken. But then Obanai sighed for the nth time as he let go of you. Immediately, you felt the cold air wash away the remnants of what his hand had held earlier.
"I tried but I can't."
"No. I guess you didn't try at all."
Anger flickered in Obanai's eyes, and you clearly saw it. It was as if you've unlocked something dark in him. In that instant, you realised that you shouldn't have said that. You shouldn't blame him. But before you can take back what you've said, Obanai has already spoken up.
"Fine. Blame me. I won't say anything again because, I guess, you'll never listen to me."
"Sensei..."
"Go home. I've got lots of things to do. See you in class tomorrow."
The coldness of the breeze blanketed you as you watched how darkness seemingly swallowed Obanai's expression. You waited for a bit for him to say anything, but nothing came. So with tears running down your face, you ran outside his lonely classroom. Your heart heaved from the loss that felt like it might swallow you whole.
Tumblr media
Days have passed since you've learned the truth. And yet, the air remained on your shoulder, bearing the unspoken tension between you and Obanai. Yes, you've cried for nights once again, as if Shinobu's death was just yesterday. The devastation was too hard to bear, but you know you can't back away from what you've started.
You know your sister won't be happy to see you like this forever. Despite the storm raging within you, you came back to your senses and faced Obanai in his classes as professionally as you could.
"So, Y/N-san, what's the answer?"
You blinked in surprise as the familiar voice called your name. You stood up from your seat and faced him with oozing confidence, which made Obanai's eyes widen.
"Yes, even at freezing temperatures, water can remain liquid."
It was the first time in a while that Obanai looked into your eyes. And there, you've no traces of that darkness that he had back on that afternoon. For a while, no one has responded, and both of you just looked into each other's eyes, seemingly longing to put closure on what happened. However, Obanai looked away and spoke up with a cold tone.
"Correct."
You sat back and watched as the professor explained. But of course, you couldn't help but feel so guilty about the things you told him. Looking at him now, you just want to apologise for letting your emotions get the best of you.
And perhaps you might need to do that before your guilt turns into unnecessary anger.
Now, you're face-to-face with Obanai in his empty classroom. Yes, the professor is well aware of your presence, but he refused to acknowledge it. Oh well, not until you stood in front of him and spoke up.
"Where's Kaburamaru? I haven't seen him."
Surprise almost ebbed out of Obanai. Little did you know, but the chemistry professor was dying to talk to you. He had been longing to fix things, as he was well aware of how jerky he acted back then.
You were lost and in despair with the sudden information that he had revealed. Of course, you would react that way. Especially when he had left so much of the information unsaid.
But of course, he is Obanai. He won't let that emotion show. So, he immediately composed himself and faced you without any expression.
"Why do you care? Classes are done. Why are you here? Stop pestering me."
His words made your eyebrows crease. He's colder than usual, and that makes you feel a bit vulnerable. He has all the right to be angry and avoid you after what you did. So you clenched your fist and swallowed your pride.
"Are we seriously going to ignore the elephant in the room?"
"As far as I know, we're done with this discussion—"
"I'm a bitch for blaming you. I didn't know what really happened back then. I just assumed things. I let myself be consumed by my overwhelming emotions. I know it's not an excuse for saying those words to you but sensei, I want to know what happened. And I'm so sorry."
"I'm busy, Y/N-san. Can't you see?"
You groaned, feeling that anytime soon you'd scream with frustration. Desperate to talk to him and knowing everything that happened in the past, you came up with an idea. You leaned in on his desk and spoke up in a low tone of voice.
"If you're so busy right now, meet me at 10 tonight. I'll wait for you in that same coffee shop, Obanai."
Before he can say anything again, you've turned your back and left. If what he said back there is true, if he really cares, then he'll come.
Tumblr media
Clad in an off-shoulder blue top, a red skirt, and black rubber shoes, you found yourself fiddling with your hair as you waited unsurely for Obanai. You really can't blame him if he doesn't come at all, as, first and foremost, he is your chemistry professor. You're well aware that he shouldn't have these kinds of rendezvouses with his students.
Secondly, you've been a little shit for blaming him for the death of Shinobu and for making him feel guilty for surviving that tragedy. If you could just turn back time, you wouldn't have reacted that way.
Thirdly, it's possible that Obanai now despises you. You felt sick in the pit of your stomach at the notion of him hating you. Despite all the shit that has been happening, you can't hide the fact that you still like your professor.
His eyes—those rare heterochromatic eyes and his voice—can all send you to heaven, for all you care. Why hasn't it come to your mind that the boy before had those same beautiful eyes? So that's the reason why you have always found it so enigmatic.
But like before with science, you've messed things up again.
You felt hopeless as you looked at the time. It's past ten, almost eleven. And as if fate hated you, the owner sauntered towards you and told you that they'd be closing the shop.
Feeling embarrassed, you stood up and left, apologising for the bother.
And here you are now, standing in front of the closed coffee shop, as it started to thunder and drizzle. It's past eleven, almost twelve, and still, Obanai isn't here.
You felt your heart hurt in this situation. Tears started to fall on your cheek as you let all your frustrations get ahold of you. Of course, why would he show up?
Crouching down, rain started to pour, but you refused to leave, thinking that perhaps he'd come if you'd wait for a few more minutes.
But no, it's only two minutes before the clock strikes midnight, and yet, there's still no traces of Obanai Iguro.
Soaked in the rain, you covered your face as your sobs became louder. All you wanted to do was apologise and know what happened, and yet, it seems like it won't happen anymore.
"Y/N. Why are you here?"
Hearing that familiar voice, you felt your heart start to race. You looked up and there; those enigmatic heterochromatic eyes clashed with yours. Suddenly, you felt an arm wrapping around yours, pulling you under the protection of his umbrella.
Obanai groaned and took off his jacket, wrapping it over your shoulder.
"Why the fuck would you wait for me under the rain? You should've gone home, dimwit."
"I told you I'd wait."
"But why? Nothing will change Y/N."
"Because I want you to forgive me. Because I want to know what happened. Because I want you to... to be angry at me anymore."
"Whatever. I can't leave you like this. You're soaked to the bone. Ugh, fuck this, come with me."
Your eyes widened with his words. But you didn't complain or ask for more information. You let Obanai lead you to an apartment complex.
Yes, you didn't make any sound, even until he brought you inside his home.
"Sit there. I'll grab some towels and clothes."
Waiting for Obanai to come back from inside his bedroom felt like forever. So then, you looked around, observing his place. The apartment isn't big, but it isn't small either. It lacks colour, and yet the scent of lavender welcomed you. It's quite comforting, unlike your seemingly cold-hearted professor.
You let your eyes wander around as you shivered through your wet clothes. There are tonnes of books, and you assumed that all of those relate to chemistry. You started to wonder how many hours did he stay here to just read those. There's a lot so, what drove him to spend those time, just doing that?
And there on the corner was Kaburamaru, slithering inside his shelter.
But the thing that caught your attention was the picture on his study table. You stood up from your seat and sauntered towards it. You felt warm in your chest as the image registered in your senses.
There, you saw a glimpse of your sister's smiling face. Her beauty is immortalised in this image. And there beside her was a girl who wore braids. Memories of this girl braiding your hair like what you do to yourself came flashing in your head.
Mitsuri-san.
You looked at her little image beside Obanai, who had that small smile painted on his face. Yes, they look happy in this picture, and perhaps it was taken back when they were still volunteering for that foster home.
"What are you doing?"
Obanai's cold voice almost made you faint. You turned around, and there you saw him holding the towel and an oversized shirt.
"Nothing. I just saw a photo of the three of you."
"And who allowed you to go through my things?"
"Sorry, sensei. I was just curious."
"Whatever," Obanai said, then tossed you the towel and shirt. "Go get change. I already cleaned the bedroom so you can stay for the night. Don't worry, I'll sleep on the couch. I'll walk you home tomorrow when the storm calms down."
So, he'll let me stay? You thought as you gave him a faint smile, which made him look away. "Thank you, sensei."
After that encounter, you headed to his bedroom and looked around once again. The scent of lavender smells stronger here, but in a good way. Perhaps Obanai wants to calm himself so badly with this scent. It works well, though. Your anxiousness seemed to fade away.
His room is full of books too. But what surprised you again is the other photo on his bedside table. It was still the three of them. But here, Mitsuri was hugging him... He was smiling.
A pang of pain hit your chest as you decided to saunter quickly in the shower. Yet, even if you wanted to ignore the thought so badly while showering and even dressing, you couldn't help but wonder if he and Mitsuri were a thing before.
Possibly... They're close.
And she's nice; she probably won't say the things you told him before. Yes, Mitsuri is a great woman, just like your sister. It's just so sad that their lives ended before they could flourish for something more.
"You okay there, Y/N?"
You turned, and there you saw Obanai standing by the door, giving you a curious look.
You wanted to ask so badly, but you stopped yourself by biting your lip. But then, Obanai seems to notice. He sauntered inside his bedroom and placed the photo inside his drawer.
"I know you want to ask things. Ask now before I change my mind."
Obanai said as he took off his facemask and fixed his hair. You were astounded to see him without the facemask again. You can't still believe the fact that he's really that mysterious boy from the foster home.
"Sen—"
"Obanai."
"Oh, Obanai, are you and Mitsuri—"
"Almost."
Your face dropped; it seems like there are tonnes of secrets living inside this lad. For some reason, you wanted to know. He gave you this chance, so,
"Almost? What do you mean?"
"Mitsuri's the only girl who made me feel like a normal boy back in the foster home. But I never got the chance to tell her my feelings. I was about to confess when the fire happened."
"I'm sorry to hear that."
"It's okay. It's been too long and I've moved on. But honestly, when I first saw you in a braid back then at the coffee shop, you suddenly reminded me of her."
"Obanai..."
"But then it was just that time. Because you're really different from her."
"Of course. I'm not as nice as Mitsuri-san. Not as pretty as her either."
"Not that. You're... fuck it. You're nice and pretty... and smart, okay? Stop saying that. It's something else. It's more than your physical appearance."
"Then what? Do I remind you of my sister, instead? She raised me so—"
"Not that either. You remind me of... my younger self. Not Mitsuri or even your sister. You're like the young Obanai who hated everything for the pain the world has brought to him. The one who chose to use that loath to try to be in a better place. I'm not saying I am a hundred percent alright now. But it's just that I don't hate the world as much as I did back then. We got to celebrate little wins, right?"
His words crept into your senses and sent you a cold shiver. What does he mean? You felt like you were lost for words as you looked at Obanai and tried to analyse what you heard.
Suddenly, you felt his hands on your cheek again. There, you were sent to the first time he did this. It was when these revelations happened. So what will happen now?
Like a pack of wolves, your anxiousness started to prey on you. Your breathing slowed down, and you felt the tension in the air as Obanai leaned in to embrace you.
"I'm sorry that I made you wait. It was a jerk move."
Without words, you let yourself embrace him back, burying your face in his body. His apology sounded genuine, which made you feel a bit better.
Warmth suddenly flowed within you as you felt Obanai's hand caressing the back of your head, letting his cold fingers run through your locks. With that sensation, you weren't able to stop yourself from wanting him to stay.
"Can you stay here with me, Obanai?" You whispered, which made the man pull out from the embrace. "Why?"
"It's just... I want to know everything. I want to hear what happened."
You heard him sigh as he sat beside you. There, he looked nothing like the Obanai Iguro at the university. He looked nothing like your stern chemistry professor who is apparently allergic to women.
In this moment, he just looked like a normal guy, solid, warm but might be vulnerable. Just like how he looked back then when he was younger, but prettier.
"It's a long story."
"We have all night."
"Fine."
The night passed quickly, and yet you and Obanai didn't notice it.
He told you everything that happened back then, after the last time you'd seen him in that garden. Apparently, he was taken in by the Rengokus with Mitsuri.
He told you how Kyojuro and Mitsuri helped him come back to his senses. They are both reasons why he wanted to be a chemistry professor. It's a payback for how nice they were.
And yes, he had these little visits at the foster home by then, curious to see where the 'girl who weren't afraid of snakes' was. But you weren't there anymore, as you were taken in by the Kochos.
Time passed, and there he met with Shinobu once again as his co-worker. But back then, he had no idea that you were a part of her family. And yes, he didn't ask.
She seemed nice to Mitsuri and to him. But, of course, he didn't reciprocate well. He can't, as he was apparently 'allergic to women' or, more like, hated them, as his family, which is full of women, used to abuse him before.
He treated Shinobu as just a colleague, but never a friend.
But Mitsuri is an exemption as he grew with her. She proved to him that not all women are bad. And yes, he developed feelings for Mitsuri. But he can't reveal it, as he was too afraid. Not until it's too late.
Obanai told you that he was wrapping up his night classes back then when suddenly there was an explosion somewhere in the building. Afraid of what it might be and the consequences, Obanai ran towards it, and there he saw Mitsuri... dead.
It was too late to save her. He can't help but to wonder what if he just arrived a few moments earlier. Would his first love still be alive?
Obanai told you how it ebbed out all the remaining strength in his body. He just wanted to die.
But then he heard another voice from the room, and there he had a glimpse of an injured Shinobu, who was carrying a child. She ran towards him and told him to get the child out of the building, as she would try to look around to see if there were other children left.
And with the shock of seeing Mitsuri dead, he just followed Shinobu's orders and brought the child out to safety.
But then he realised that he shouldn't let his emotions get ahead of him, as there might be other children left inside. So then he ran back inside, and there he saw the weakened Shinobu under a fallen pillar. Obanai tried to save her, but then the girl refused and pointed towards a little girl who was crying on the corner.
She told him to save the child instead, despite all his complaints. He had no choice but to go to the little girl to save her as even if he tried every thing, there is no way that he can pull Shinobu out of the collapsed pillar. Besides, she was too injured.
"I didn't want to leave but Shinobu insisted. She told me that she would never sacrifice anyone for her sake."
Obanai paused to hold your hand as you started crying from what you are hearing right now.
"And there... your sister made me promise. She told me that if ever I see her youngest sister someday, I should do my best to bring her passion for science back. She told me that you were mad at her that day because she told you that she needed to leave for her science project at the foster home. She already knows that you'll hate science, as you might think that it is the reason why she'll die. But she never wanted you to feel that. It was no one's fault. Y/N, she loves you so much."
"Is that the reason why you gave me that notebook?"
"Yes... I always had that notebook because I always thought that perhaps someday I'd meet her sister. I actually prepared it for you in case what Shinobu said became true, and it did. I wanted to fulfill that promise so bad."
"I-I hated science because of what happened. My sister would've been alive by now if she didn't leave that night... But, perhaps that's really what we do if we love something?"
"She loves you more than anything Y/N. Always remember that. No one knew that the tragedy would happen..."
"Yes... I'm sorry for being so illogical Obanai. I am trying my best but... it still hurts a lot."
"No, it's okay. You didn't know. And you should take your time to heal yourself. There's no rush..."
"Thanks. But still... Why did you make this effort at all? Why did you want to fulfill that promise if my sister isn't important at all to you?"
"I don't know. I think it's how I dealt with the guilt of not saving those two—Mitsuri and Shinobu. I always thought that if I couldn't save them, perhaps I could help you? But I really didn't know if what I am doing right now helps you. Perhaps I should've buried—."
"Obanai, don't say that. You... you helped me a lot. And yes, I know you already made Mitsuri and my sister proud of this. And I can't thank you enough for these efforts that you've already made for someone whom you haven't met yet.."
Tears suddenly poured out of Obanai's eyes after hearing those words coming out of you. It's like the knife that has been stabbing him again and again all these years was suddenly pulled out, and there you are, trying to heal his wounds again.
You, on the other hand, realised what your sister's love could do. And you ended up crying too as you realised how wrong you were for telling Obanai that he never tried to save them. He did. He tried his best.
Seeing the strong Obanai breaking down made you feel more vulnerable, and suddenly, you felt the urge to slowly lean in and give him a passionate kiss.
Obanai was stunned. Never in his life has he experienced this. No one has ever looked at him this way after Mitsuri's death. But then, here you are now, kissing him passionately. He had tonnes of questions in mind. But then he shoved all of those and buried them deep within his mind as he let his hands slip around your body.
Warmth embraced the both of you as Obanai started kissing back, slowly pushing you down on the mattress. But then, before he got carried away, he pulled out, blushing so madly.
Drunk in passion and confusion, you opened your eyes, and there you saw Obanai trying to look away. So then, you sat and looked on your lap, feeling the regret of letting your passion take over.
"Sorry Obanai..."
"It's okay."
"I just wanted to... thank you, but I got carried away. I'm so sorry."
"Is that all that kiss was for? Just to thank me?"
His question made you think hard, because what would you answer? Is he expecting you to say yes or no? Confusion blinded you as you felt your hands start to shiver. It's just all too much for tonight.
Obanai noticed it, so he decided to drop the issue and speak up in a calmer tone. "I guess we can talk about this tomorrow. I'm sorry for scaring you again."
He was about to go when suddenly you pulled his hand again and said, "Stay with me, please."
Falling for that beautiful look you had now as you flaunt your vulnerability to him, Obanai can't do anything but agree. And there he stayed the night, lying beside you to caress your hair as you drifted into sleep.
Little did you know that as you slept, the man looked at you, thinking how he'd want to risk everything just to protect you. He touched your cheek and kissed your forehead. Obanai couldn't stop himself from taking in your wonderful image.
Questions are still in his head, especially about the reason behind that kiss. He felt his heart racing once again as he looked at you. He never wanted to be with anyone, but now he thinks he is starting to fall in love again.
All he knows right now is that he adores you, so he wanted to know you better.
Obanai stopped praying. He has never prayed since the night when he escaped his abusive family. But then this night, he prayed so hard that fate would let him be with you. He also prayed that Mitsuri and Shinobu wouldn't kill him for feeling this intense passion for you.
He wants nothing but to be there for you. Aside from protecting you, Obanai would want to risk everything to lift the burden inside of you, even just a little.
It's the least that he can do, as you gave him another chance in life and made him feel like a normal guy again. And for a while, it was peace that he felt right now as you slept on his arms.
Tumblr media
Feeling a bit hazy, you opened your eyes, and there, the scene that you never expected to see welcomed you. Obanai was there, facing you as he slept quietly. His hand was wrapped around your body, making you blush hard. The man looked like it was the first time that he had slept this peacefully in years.
Seeing him like this ignited your passion, which made you want to caress his cheek. Suddenly, faint fragments of the night came into you, which in turn made you redder than you already are. You felt your body heat up as you remembered that you'd kissed this guy last night.
Yes, you kissed your chemistry professor.
It's insane, but you also remembered how you made him confused with the words that you'd told him after. Then it finally hit you... How can you face him at class so casually again after that night? Aside from those heavy revelations, there seems to be a deeper connection that is happening with both of you now.
So even if you still wanted to lay there and just stare at his wonderful face, you slowly lifted up his arms and crawled out of bed. You sneaked towards the window to see if the rain had gone away. It was all stormy last night, but then, it's good to know that the sun is shining brightly today.
You were about to head out of his bedroom, as you badly wanted to sneak out. You just don't know how to react in front of him after everything, and you want to just escape the possible awkward encounter.
But then, just before you could make another step out of his bedroom, Obanai's sleepy voice made you turn to look at him. "What time is it?" He asked as he rubbed his eyes with his hand and stretched his back.
Gulping before you spoke, you looked at the wall clock and spoke up with a trembling tone. "Seven in the morning. I have classes around nine. I should get going." Obanai perked up, realisation coming into his senses.
"Gosh, I almost forgot... I'll cook you breakfast. Wait."
Obanai stood up from the bed, making you bite your lip. As if his intrusive thoughts overtook him, he ruffled your hair before heading out of his bedroom.
Realising that you're all alone again, inside his bedroom, you felt your knees finally give out, and you fell to the ground. How can he act so casual about this? You thought as you blushed madly.
But then, you quickly got on your feet as you realised that even if you ran back to your house to change, you'd still be late. You walked quickly to the kitchen, and there, you saw Obanai making two omelettes.
Your heartbeat rushed as your eyes met. Obanai smiled at you, which almost made you melt. He looks nothing like yesterday. It's like all the grumpiness in him was suddenly gone.
"You hungry? I'll be finished cooking in a few minutes. If you want, you can take a shower now. I have some hoodies and pants that I think would fit you."
You blushed at the thought of you wearing his clothes to the university. "Won't people notice that I'm wearing your clothes?" You asked, fiddling with your fingers.
Obanai tilted his head to the side while looking at you. "Have you seen me wear hoodies at the university?"
"No."
"Then no. Go take a shower now."
You wanted to complain, but as if you were automated to do so, you headed to the bathroom and took a shower. It was surprising to see a lilac hoodie and black pants prepared for you at the bed.
A small smile crept onto your lips. You never expected that Obanai would be this caring. But then, you reminded yourself that perhaps he is just doing this because of his promise to your sister.
Sighing, you put on his clothes and fixed yourself. You know that you shouldn't bother yourself with these thoughts, so you tried shoving them deep within your head.
You went out of the bedroom and were astounded to see the delectable dish that the man had prepared for you.
Obanai appeared out of nowhere, from behind your back. "Y/N, I've already eaten. I'll just take a quick shower, and then we'll head to the university. There's a spare toothbrush that I've prepared there. Feel free to use my comb as well."
"Yes, sir," you said, blushing, and there, Obanai finally left again.
You could see how Kaburamaru stared at you in the corner of your eye. You smiled at him and then proceeded to finish your breakfast and fix yourself.
Obanai emerged from his bedroom, and yes, the lavender smell made you turn your head towards him. He was clad in his usual formal clothing and oversized lab coat again, with that face mask.
You suddenly wanted to tease him, and so you did.
"It looks like my grumpy sensei is back."
He facepalmed and sauntered towards you. You were astounded by the next actions that he took. Cornering you on the wall, Obanai pulled down his facemask and leaned in to kiss you.
A yelp escaped from your mouth, but then you found yourself leaning in to kiss him back. It seems like your vision was filled with fireworks as you felt warmth burning at the pit of your stomach.
Obanai suddenly pulled out, panting from the intense kiss. Before you could say anything, the chemistry professor finally spoke up. "I don't think I could just be your 'sensei' after last night. If you really just kissed me just to thank me, I'll do everything to change that. Y/N. I don't care anymore, but I want you to be mine."
Tumblr media
Panting while trying to suppress all your moans, you found yourself skin-to-skin with your chemistry professor. Obanai covered your mouth as your nails dug into his back.
"Obanai... Mmmm, yes..."
"Sshh, if you'll not be quiet, someone might hear us."
Obanai bit you on your shoulder as he wildly thrusted his throbbing cock inside of you. Making your eyes roll back because of the sensation that he is giving you, a loud moan almost slipped out of your mouth. Thankfully, Obanai managed to cover your mouth before you could scream in pleasure.
But as the pleasure started to engulf you, you started to wonder. How did this happen?
Flashback:
Days have passed since Obanai's confession, and yet you still haven't told him about your real feelings. It's like, whenever you feel that you're ready, you'll end up swallowing the words back again.
So then, Obanai is still oblivious to your feelings. And when we say oblivious, it also means that it makes him more determined to court you. Yes, he is well aware that this could be wrong in the eyes of others. But then, he wanted nothing but to protect you and help you heal.
He wanted to fulfil his promise to Shinobu, but he also didn't want to commit the same mistakes that he had done to Mitsuri. He won't let things become too late before he makes a move.
At school hours, Obanai remained professional—and, of course, grumpy—to all of his students. You are not an exception to this. But then, after classes, the chemistry professor would pull you into an empty hall, away from prying eyes, just to give you your favourite snack or a flower.
Yes, he courted you like a gentleman. Even if it is behind the curtains of being acceptable to all, you can't help but fall for him more.
So then one day, when your curiosity took over, you directly told Obanai something that made him flabbergasted to the bone.
"Are you doing all of this because of the promise that you had with my sister? Because if you're just efforting for that, please just stay as my professor. I can't risk everything if I know I'll be in a situation wherein I'm going to lose more than myself."
Clicking his tongue, Obanai raised his eyebrow at you. "Here you go again with your assumptions," he said with a tone of dismay in his voice.
"I just want to be sure because, just to be clear, you don't have any responsibility for me. I'm a grown woman."
"And I'm well aware of that. I'm not stupid."
"You're not stupid, but I might be. So please just stop this if you're just doing it because of that promise or because I remind you of Mitsuri-san...."
"No. You're wrong. I'm doing this because I like you. Okay? You are good to me even if I was being an all-time jerk. You treated me like a normal guy. And it always feels like I've known you forever."
Hearing those words coming from his mouth, with the clear truth painted on his heterochromatic eyes, you felt your heart rise. And there, finally, you spoke the words that Obanai had been wanting to hear.
"I-I like you too, sensei."
"Y/N..."
Before you could reply, Obanai tugged off his facemask and snaked his arms around you, pulling you into a passionate kiss. There, you felt your knees weaken as you submitted to his strong arms. Never have you imagined in your life that the boy who saved you from being bit by Kaburamaru when you were younger would also be this man who ended up falling for you.
Taken by his emotions, Obanai slowly bit your lip, letting his hands slip under your shirt. Without caring that anyone could enter the room by now, you let his tongue slip inside your mouth, with the kiss only ending with the both of you fighting for dominance.
Heat crept up on your body as you felt his usual cold hands run on your body. With shivers running up your spine, you pulled out and looked into Obanai's eyes. Surprised by the passion painted on his marvellous orbs, you caressed his face and gave him a soft smile.
"I'm all yours, Obanai," you whispered before leaning in to kiss his lips.
Little did you know, your words flipped a switch on Obanai, giving him the strength to carry you to the table. Slowly, his lips went down on your jaw, planting ticklish kisses that went down on your collarbone. A soft moan escaped from your lips as you wrapped your hands around his neck.
That made the chemistry professor look up at you and caress your face. "I want you, Y/N." His words were vague, but you already know what he means. And yes, how could you resist those wonderful eyes and that fierce expression on his face? He was hungry for your touch.
You didn't answer; you spread your legs, inviting him to move closer to you. And there, Obanai gulped and positioned your body between your thighs. There, you slowly felt his hard member, cloaked under his pants, as he slowly grinded on you while kissing you deeply.
And there, another moan escaped your lips, which in turn made Obanai harder than he already is. "Oh, you make me want to fuck you so bad right now," he whispered in your ear, with a voice so sensual that it made you almost cum.
"I want you too, Obanai."
"Are you sure?" He asked as he ran his hands on your hair. You nodded, and there, a small smile managed to escape from his senses. Without saying a word, Obanai's hands worked up on your shirt, taking it off you. Slowly, he opened your bra, making you gasp as the sudden coldness of the room embraced you.
Slowly, Obanai removed his lab coat and shirt, making you gasp as you saw a burn mark on his chest. You touched it gently, making the man bite his lip.
You felt a pinch on your chest with what you saw. He must have gotten that burn mark back that night. So then, even if you knew it wouldn't heal it, you slowly planted kisses on it, making Obanai moan loudly.
Slowly, Obanai slipped his finger under your skirt, pulling your pants to the side. And there, he slowly ran his hands on your wet slit. "Fuck..." you mumbled as you buried your face on his bare chest, licking his scar down to his sensitive nipples.
Pain and pleasure embraced you as suddenly, Obanai slipped two of his fingers inside of you. "Fuck, so tight," he said as he laid you down on the table, spreading you open like a book. And there, his mouth worked on your nipples, nibbling and licking them as he continued to finger-fuck you with an unpredictable rhythm.
"I'm near," you whispered as he fingered you faster. But then, after hearing that, the man stopped and kissed your lips instead.
"I'm so hard right now..." He whispered, making you wetter than you already are. "Fuck me then." You said confidently, ignoring the fact that it'll be your first time if he does what you're suggesting.
"You sure? It'll be my—"
You were astounded by what he was going to say, but then you cut it off by saying, "It's mine too... And I want it to be you. Make love with me, Obanai." You said, making the man nod.
With your words, Obanai pulled down his pants, and there, his hardened cock surprised you. You spread your legs more as Obanai positioned his cock on your entrance, rubbing it against it to tease you.
Feeling impatient, you pulled him close to you and gave him a deep kiss as he slowly entered you. The pain that you felt eventually subsided as Obanai thrust himself in and out of you, whispering how he loved you.
You wrapped your legs around his waist, letting him go deeper into you. But then, just as before you could feel your climax, a knock stunned the both of you.
"Iguro-sensei? Are you here?"
Realising that the door wasn't locked, your heart thumped hard. "Fuck," Obanai groaned as he carried you from the table, still not pulling out. He kicked your clothes under the table as he commanded you to bend down under the table so that nobody could see you.
No one should see you in this state except him!
So there, you followed him and bent down under the table, with his cock still inside of you. Obanai put on his shirt and lab coat, draping them on you.
And there, your heart thumped harder. But the risk he is putting you in right now didn't stop you from feeling more aroused. He signalled for you to shut up, and there he spoke up with his usual uninterested voice, letting the student into his classroom.
"What do you want?"
"Sensei, you have no facemask," Nezuko said, surprised to see their professor like that for the first time.
"So? What do you need, idiot?"
The innocent Nezuko came in and spoke up. "Iguro-sensei, I just want to ask if you have seen Y/N. Our next class will start, but she still isn't around."
You felt a bit guilty for making your classmate worry, but then you knew that you couldn't just show up right now. Looking up, you saw Obanai flash you a 'you're dead' look that made you gulp. The professor hates it when students skip classes, and now you're skipping one to get fucked by him.
Obanai groaned at Nezuko. "Do I look like a babysitter? She's not here, can't you see? Go find her somewhere else. Perhaps she's out there slacking off or what, for all I care."
"Sorry sensei..."
"Go out and lock the door before closing it."
A few seconds after Nezuko left and locked the door, Obanai yanked you out of the table with your hair and bent you on the table.
"So, you're skipping classes now, huh? I'm going to fuck you so hard for this. Bad girl."
Obanai said, not letting you speak as he thrust deeper and harder into your wet pussy, making you moan loudly. He took off his remaining clothing again and yanked your hair harder as he grinded in his cock on your damped hole.
"Fuck, you feel so good."
End of flashback
"Obanai... Mmmm, yes..."
"Sshh, if you'll not be quiet, someone might hear us."
Obanai bit you on your shoulder as he slowly inserted his throbbing cock inside of you. Making your eyes roll back because of the sensation that he is giving you, a loud moan almost slipped out of your mouth. Thankfully, Obanai managed to cover your mouth before you could scream in pleasure.
With your orgasm building inside of you, you felt yourself tearing up. Obanai kissed your neck, groped your breasts, and played with your nipples as he fucked you hard.
"Fuck, I'm near..." He said, turning you over to face him now. There, he laid you on the floor, with your lustful and passionate eyes locked with each other. "I want to see your face as you cum." He said, and there, Obanai started slipping his cock in and out of you as his right hand worked to rub your clit.
With the overstimulation, you can't help but wrap your legs around him, pulling him down to kiss him deeply as you tear up with the sensation that you are feeling.
And there, as if atoms had collided, you felt an explosion inside of you as your sweet juices mixed with Obanai's cum. "Fuck!" He said as you bit his shoulder, letting the pleasure take over.
With his thrusts slowing down, Obanai collapsed over you, panting. You ran your hands on his hair and buried your face in the crook of his neck. Your heart is racing with the rhythm of his.
"I love you, Obanai."
"I love you too. You're mine."
"I'm yours."
Tumblr media
You looked at the sky, letting the cold breeze caress your skin. Resting on your lap was Obanai, who was petting Kaburamaru.
You looked down on the chemistry professor, and realisation hit you again. This marvellous man is yours. Who would have thought that the boy you've met at the foster home would change your life?
And there, you realised that if Shinobu and Mitsuri could see the both of you now, perhaps they would be happy. You know how those girls wanted you and Obanai to be happy before, and now it happens because you found love with each other.
And it's true, Obanai had seen his old self in you, but now it's different.
Like he had said before, both of you are not a hundred percent alright right now. But it's just that you don't hate the world as much as you did back then. And yes, you have to celebrate little wins, right?
And now, celebrating will be better, as you will get to celebrate it with the one you love every day.
Laughter once again filled the air as you all sat around a high-top table in a bustling bar, the earlier altercation with Satoru pushed to the back of your mind. The dim lighting and the clink of glasses created a cocoon that made the outside world seem distant.
"I'm telling you, the spicier the food, the better the night," Yuji said, slapping Megumi on the back. Yuji took another hearty bite of the burrito, which the bartender had boasted to be the spiciest thing he'd ever tasted.
Megumi shook his head. "Your taste is really awful."
Nobara rolled her eyes, sipping her drink. "Yuji, the only thing you're going to attract with that fiery breath is a dragon looking for its lost sibling."
You chuckled along. "Well, I guess it's time for another round of drinks. Yuji, shall I get you a shot of pure chili with a side of vodka? Or just milk?"
Yuji feigned offense, placing a hand over his heart. "I'll have you know, my palate is refined. I am a connoisseur of all things spicy and adventurous."
"Which is why you cried at the last hot wing challenge?" Nobara teased, her eyebrow arched in amusement.
"Those were tears of joy, a tribute to the spice gods."
Nobara shook her head with a grin. "Sure, Yuji. We'll put that on your tombstone."
The group erupted into laughter, and you took the opportunity to head to the bar for another round of drinks. The lively chatter of the bar guests created a soothing backdrop as you squeezed through the crowd.
Reaching the bar, you signaled the bartender and waited, idly watching the colorful array of bottles lined up. That's when you felt someone sidle up next to you. Too close.
"Hey, can I buy you a drink?" A man with a hopeful smile leaned against the bar, trying to catch your eye.
"No, thank you. I'm with my friends."
He persisted, inching closer. "Come on, what's the harm? One drink."
You shifted uncomfortably. "Really, I'm fine. Please excuse me."
Unfortunately, the man took this as a challenge rather than a dismissal. "Come on, don't be like that—."
Before you could respond, Megumi was standing behind the drunken, tipping on the man's shoulder. The guy turned, meeting Megumi's unyielding gaze. "She's not interested, buddy," Megumi said.
In a flash, Megumi's fist connected with the man's jaw, the sound sharp in the din of the bar, sending him staggering backwards. You hold your breath. Your eyes widening as the man in front of you tumbled from his chair and crashed onto the floor.
The bar erupted into chaos, but Yuji and Nobara were quick to intervene. "We should've stuck to the milk plan," Yuji muttered as he stepped between Megumi and the unfolding scene.
Nobara nodded, pulling Megumi and you back. "Yeah, because apparently, it's the cure for more than just spicy food."
With a mix of urgency and stealth, you all made your way out of the bar. The evening's earlier laughter now replaced by the adrenaline of a quick getaway.
You spilled out of the bar into the neon-lit streets of Tokyo, the cold night air filling your lungs as you sprinted away from the commotion. Laughter and shouts faded into the distance behind you. Your group weaved through the bustling crowds, blending into the sea of people until you were sure you'd put enough space between yourselves and the bar.
Finally, breathless and far enough away to be safe, you all collapsed onto a park bench under a large, sprawling tree just beside the Sumida river. Yuji bent over, hands on his knees, trying to catch his breath. Nobara was the first to break into laughter.
"Well, that certainly took a turn," she gasped between fits of laughter.
Yuji added with a smirk, "That was either the best or the worst post-dinner entertainment I've ever experienced."
You couldn't help but laugh, the absurdity of the situation hitting you all at once.
"And here I thought the evening's highlight was going to be the dessert, not Megumi's right hook," Nobara joked, slapping Megumi's shoulder playfully.
Your eyes landed on Megumi's hand. The knuckles were red. "Your hand," you reached out, taking his hand gently in yours to inspect it. "Does it hurt?"
Megumi flinched at your sudden touch. "It's nothing. Just a bit red," but the grimace that followed told another story.
Nobara, still chuckling, teased, "That's some punch you've got there, champ."
Yuji couldn't resist adding his own commentary, "At least now we have a new story to tell."
Amidst the laughter, your attention remained fixed on Megumi's hand. "Seriously, Megumi, this isn't 'nothing'," you insisted, holding his hand up to the light for a better look. "We need to get this checked out or at least properly iced. It could be worse than it looks."
"Okay, okay," he conceded, "We'll take a look at it later."
Nobara stepped closer. "You'd better follow her orders, Fushiguro, or she'll be the next one to throw a punch," she warned with a grin.
Megumi nodded, accepting the inevitable fuss over his well-being. "Alright, no arguments here."
Your eyes briefly met Megumi's and your lips formed a silent 'thank you'.
Yuji's jesting continued, "Next time you want to show off for her, maybe just try flowers, Fushiguro."
Nobara laughed, and even Megumi cracked a smile. "I'll keep that in mind for next time."
Nobara stood up, clapping her hands together. "Alright, team, where to next?"
Reluctantly, you released Megumi's hand, glancing at his face to ensure he was truly okay. "Perhaps somewhere with fewer jerks, considering the state of Megumi's hand—"
"Gojo's little treasure, so exposed."
A curse.
Before you could react, the curse lunged, its hand outstretched towards your head. Time slowed. Your breath caught in your throat.
In a blur of movement too quick to follow, Satoru appeared from nowhere. His kick slamming the curse into the wall of a nearby building with a crash that echoed through the stillness of the night. The building collapsed, burying the curse beneath the rubble.
Another curse, charging straight at you. But Satoru was faster. His arms wrapping around you, pulling you into the shelter of his protection just as the force of the curse struck both of you, throwing you several metres back into the structure.
The impact reverberated through your body as you slammed into the wall, air forcefully expelled from your lungs. Satoru's embrace barely cushioned the impact. Still, you felt his warmth. His familiar warmth. His cursed energy blazed around you like a shield. Debris rained down, crashing against Satoru's infinity.
"Are you hurt?"
Pain stabbed through your chest, making it hard to breathe. "No, I'm not," you lied, coughing through the dusty haze. Your hand hastily covering your mouth. Your fingers came away bloody. "Oh, fuck."
"Well, I hate to say 'I told you so', but—."
"You actually want to have this conversation right now?"
"You really don't want to learn, do you?" he challenged.
Satoru's hold on you loosened. "Stay down," he commanded, shifting to cover you. In an instant, Megumi's Divine Dog lunged towards another curse that materialized beside you, pinning it down and tearing its head off. Simultaneously, Satoru charged forward, engaging in a fierce hand-to-hand combat with the curse that had targeted you.
Shockwaves rippled through the air. Their movements were a blur. Strikes and parries too fast. Each exchanging multiple blows per second. Dodging and weaving. They moved with such incredible speed and precision that it was nearly impossible to keep up with their fight.
Adrenaline surged through your veins. Nobara and Yuji quickly rushed over to you.
"We should get going," Yuji said, but in that split second, Megumi's Divine Dog lunged at another approaching curse, catching you off guard. The alcohol had dulled your senses, causing you to react a moment too late. However, you weren't the only one struggling—Nobara was barely able to stand herself.
Fuck, at this rate, we're easy prey.
"Retreat!" Megumi shouted over the chaos as he fought another curse. At least he appeared to be somewhat sober and focused. However, in an instant, another curse emerged, splitting your group and forcing all of you to step back. Yuji wasted no time in confronting it, driving it away from Nobara and you.
But these were no ordinary curses. They were so fucking fast. And you too drunk.
Yuji's stamina faltered, his precision waning under the relentless pace. Sweat beaded and flung from his brow as he swung with diminishing accuracy.
Each of Yuji's strikes a beat behind the curse's lithe dodges. Exhaustion clawed at Yuji's stance. With a final surge of energy, Yuji lunged, aiming for the curse's core. But the creature dodged with mocking ease. It bounded against the building's wall, defying gravity, and launched itself in a lethal arc. Its foot struck Yuji on the side of the head, sending him flying backwards. He was knocked unconscious before the curse landed before him.
You sprinted toward him but were halted midway by a sorcerer—an enemy.
How many of them were there? Where was Satoru?
A sudden strike from the sorcerer snapped you back to reality. You barely managed to dodge it, stumbling to the floor before hastily regaining your feet. The persistent alcohol haze continued to pound in your skull, impairing your coordination.
Then, another strike came, and you had to summon all your remaining strength to evade it. The sheer force of his blows that followed stunned you for a moment. You managed to raise your katana just in time, blocking a blow that could have knocked you cold—the impact sending shockwaves through your arms.
Wait a second.
You weren't at school. You weren't on a mission. You didn't have your katana with you.
The realization dawned on you. The effects of the alcohol began to wear off. But it was already too late. Blood trickled down your arm and across your face, leaving a warm, crimson trail.
What the hell am I doing?
Nobara quickly rushed to your side, hurling nails into the sorcerers head and ending his threat. You pulled your arm back, sharp pain ripping through you as you saw the gruesome wound.
"What are you doing?" she asked, panic creeping into her voice.
You did not know either. You did not know anything anymore.
But there was no time to think.
In a split second, you witnessed Satoru's cursed technique painting the sky red, followed by the howling of Megumi's Divine Dog. Your gaze darted from the unconscious Yuji on the ground to Nobara.
Behind her the sorcerer.
Your cry too late.
She crumpled to the ground.
In the very next moment, the sorcerer lunged at you, causing you to stagger backward. The sorcerer's strikes landed with ruthless precision. The first two sending waves of pain through your body. Then came a barrage of blows that left you numb to the pain, a relentless onslaught you could no longer distinguish or feel.
Your vision clouded, making it difficult to see. Your other senses dulled by the alcohol. You knew you couldn't rely on your cursed technique in this state. All that remained was your physical strength, but even that was wearing thin.
Fuck. Think.
With a final, devastating strike, the sorcerer sent you hurtling backward. He seized you by the collar, effortlessly lifting you before flinging you at the remnants of the wall. Your head collided with unforgiving stone. Your vision erupted into darkness. Blinking slowly, you managed to regain some semblance of sight, just in time to witness the sorcerer looming over your limp form.
"You really aren't as special as you think, are you?"
Blood spilled onto the floor as you retorted, "Special enough for you to come all this way, didn't you?"
He chuckled. "And quite the big mouth, too."
Think. Think. Think. Think.
Suddenly you became aware of the river streaming a few metres away. In an instant, driven by adrenaline, you sprang to your feet. With all your strength, you lunged at the sorcerer, forcing him backwards and over the edge. The two of you hurtled headfirst into the river.
Upon impact, your senses abruptly shut down. You were completely engulfed by the biting cold; couldn't breathe, couldn't hear, couldn't see. Attempting to swim proved futile as the powerful current and your aching limbs defied your commands. Involuntarily, you choked as a torrent of water rushed into your mouth.
You didn't know how long you were in the water.
How deep you had sunk.
The neon lights slowly fading on the surface.
This is it. I'm going to die.
But strangely, it didn't feel as bad as you expected. There was no pain—your entire body had gone numb. Your mind blank. It wasn't such a terrible way to go. At least it was peaceful.
Suddenly, someone seized you firmly, and your eyes shot open.
Satoru pulled your head close to his, sealing your lips with a deep, urgent kiss. A small bubble of air passed between you. It wasn't much, but it cleared your vision, eased the burning in your lungs. Adrenaline surged through you. He wrapped his arms around your waist and pulled you both towards the surface.
Satoru hoisted you over the edge and out of the water. You collapsed, coughing and choking on the river water. Satoru, too, was trying to catch his breath as he collapsed beside you. You briefly glanced at your right arm. It was a gruesome sight and you couldn't bear to look at it.
"What the fuck were you thinking?"
You didn't respond. You didn't know how to. For a moment, you had considered that maybe dying wouldn't be so terrible—it might solve all your problems and keep the others safe.
Keep Satoru save.
"Hey, look at me," he insisted.
But you couldn't find the energy. You were too drained to feel much of anything. Satoru grasped your chin firmly, forcing you to meet his gaze. He wasn't angry. He was scared.
"Promise me this," he whispered, his thumb tracing the line of your cheek, "—when we make it through this, you'll marry me."
Huh??
You blinked a few times, caught off guard by his words.
His gaze, unwavering, held you captive. "And promise me," he continued, "—that you won't pull any more reckless stunts that might get you killed until then."
You opened your mouth, but your voice betrayed you. Piercing sounds tore through the air. Sirens blared, so loud and close that it felt like they were ringing directly in your ears. The world around you seemed to spin. And then everything went black.
****
Dawn filtered through the windows, casting a soft light across the quiet room where Yuji lay resting. You were slumped in a chair beside him. Your sleep uneasy and shallow. The gentle touch on your shoulder stirred you awake, and you blinked into the morning light, finding Satoru besides you.
"How are you feeling?"
You stretched, feeling the stiffness of your muscles, the ache in your bones. A deep, sharp pain in your arm. "I've been better," you murmured, your fingers tracing the edge of the bandages around your arm. He pulled up a chair and sat down, facing you, his gaze resting heavily on you.
"How's Nobara and Megumi?" You asked.
"They're fine." He tilted his head slightly. "I'm more concerned about you."
You averted your gaze, fingers tugging nervously at the edges of your bandages. "I'm sorry, Satoru," you said after a pause. "I was so fucking stupid."
"You're young. It's ok to make mistakes."
You shot him a narrow-eyed glance. "Don't say that. I put everyone in danger."
How could you have been so foolish? With everything that's been happening, it was only a matter of time before someone seized an opportunity to attack you. Again.
"That's why I'm here," Satoru replied, reaching for your hand. His lips brushed against your knuckles in a tender kiss. "—to protect everyone, and your reckless ass."
It was meant to be light, to draw a smile from you, but the humor fell flat. Your heart felt heavy. You saw the strain behind his eyes, the unspoken fear that he masked with a joke. It was the look of someone who had seen too much, who bore the burden of keeping everyone safe—even from themselves.
You pulled your hand back. "You know, you could stand to be a little stricter with me."
Satoru leaned back. "Stricter, huh? I've tried, you know. But I guess I've accepted the fact that I'll spend my life chasing after you, protecting you from the world."
"Sounds exhausting."
He grinned. "Not if it's for you."
Your gaze drifted to Yuji, whose features were softened in sleep. Soft rays played upon his skin, highlighting the gentle rise and fall of his chest with each steady, rhythmic breath. You leaned forward slightly to take his hand and stroke it gently.
"You know," Satoru's grin disappeared. "I have to apologize as well."
"For what?"
"I may have gone a bit overboard with my protectiveness."
You sighed, the adrenaline from the night still lingering. "Not really. In the end, you were right, and I was wrong. Maybe I am just too naive to handle things on my own."
"Naive? No, I'd say you're just unpredictably spontaneous. It keeps life thrilling."
"Thrilling, huh? Is that what we're calling near-death experiences these days?"
"Absolutely," he retorted with a chuckle. "And as for being too naive to handle things on your own—well, let's just say if being naive means charging headfirst into a river to drown a sorcerer, then I'm not sure 'naive' is the word we're looking for. Maybe 'fearlessly impulsive'?"
"Fearlessly impulsive? Only you would turn my stupidity into a compliment."
"Well, I have to find some way to make sense of your antics. Otherwise, I'm just the crazy guy running around Tokyo trying to save a girl who doesn't seem to want saving."
You met his gaze again. "Maybe that's exactly what you are."
"Ah," he said with a theatrical sigh, "—the crazy guy with the even crazier girl. Sounds like a perfect match to me."
The room settled back into silence, the only sound the rhythmic breathing of Yuji's slumber.
"So, what's your answer?" Satoru asked after a pause.
"To what?"
"My proposal," he said with a dry tone.
A sudden tightness enveloped your chest, making each breath feel shallower. Your gaze shifted to a distant point outside the window, focusing on anything but the seriousness in Satoru's eyes. "You wouldn't want to marry someone like me."
"Because you think you're broken?"
"Because I am a mess," you turned to him. "—and certainly not suited for the Gojo clan."
He leaned in, his eyes never leaving yours. "Do you really think that matters to me?"
Your silence was answer enough.
"I want you," Satoru said. "All I'm waiting for is you to stop fighting it."
Satoru's gaze was patient, unwavering, as if he could afford to wait a lifetime for you to lower the walls you'd so meticulously built.
"You don't know what you're asking," you said finally.
"But I do," Satoru countered firmly. "I want you, with all the chaos and battles you bring into my life. Even though you push me to the brink of madness sometimes. You're the person I love, and I won't hesitate to remind you of that every day."
He reached out, gently sweeping a loose strand of hair behind your ear. "I'm asking for you—all of you, for all of time," he continued. "Even if it means facing hell itself, I want to face it with you."
You found yourself leaning into the caress. His hand warm against your skin. His expression held a sincerity that made your heart race, a sincerity that made the idea of a future together seem not just possible, but real.
Yet, you were at a loss for words, unable to answer. The confession he longed to hear remained trapped behind fear. Even though every fiber of your being yearned for him to claim you as his own. Still, the vulnerability of uttering those three little words felt like stepping into the abyss.
"I've never said that I love you," you said quietly.
Satoru smiled faintly. "No need to. I see it in your eyes."
Before you could respond, a groggy voice sliced through the silence.
"Hey, if you guys are getting married, can we have one of those chocolate fountains?" Yuji mumbled, his voice thick with sleep. His eyes blinked open, unfocused, as he tried to sit up, looking from you to Satoru with a dazed expression. "With, like, an infinite supply of strawberries?"
Satoru turned to him, an amused smirk playing on his lips. "Sure, we'll have that. And not just strawberries—let's throw in marshmallows, cookies, everything."
You tried to interject. "Wait, we're not planning the—"
But the conversation was already spiraling out of control. Yuji building on the momentum, sitting up with an excitement that made you question how 'asleep' he had been. "Oh, and we need one of those bouncy castles! No wedding is complete without one. And can I be the best man? I've got some killer moves for the reception!"
Satoru laughed. "You're in, Yuji. But only if you promise to keep your shirt on during those 'killer moves'."
"And don't forget the ice cream truck! Every epic wedding needs an endless supply of ice cream," Yuji declared, sitting up straighter, his energy infectious.
Satoru nodded enthusiastically. "And about the venue—why not the Edo Castle? We need a place that can handle our kind of crowd."
You sighed. "This sounds more like a child's birthday than a wedding."
Yuji's eyes shone with a mischievous glint as he leaned toward you. "Come on, imagine it! The bouncy castle will be the hit of the night, and you, soaring through the air in your wedding dress—it'd be legendary!"
You couldn't suppress the laughter that bubbled up at the image he painted. It was ludicrous, utterly fanciful, and yet—oddly charming in its way. Turning to Satoru with a playful roll of your eyes, you conceded, "Well, it seems you've got everything planned out. You just need a bride then."
Satoru met your gaze, his eyes alight with a challenge. "I'm working on it," he replied, his voice tinged with confidence. "But I've got my sights set on the best one out there. She's a bit stubborn, but she'll come around." He winked, and the promise in his words was clear—he wasn't one to back down.
Pain.
"Fuck," you cursed as you crumpled over, clutching your arm.
The playful banter was abruptly replaced by a merciless, searing agony in your arm—the same arm that had been wounded the previous night. Shoko had tended to it, and it should have been healing, but the pain intensified, surging like wildfire through your veins.
You hastily began to unwrap the bandages, a sense of dread gnawing at the pit of your stomach. As the last layer came off, the room fell into silence. Your arm was an unnatural, disturbing shade of purple and blue, the discoloration spreading ominously from the wound.
"What the—" Yuji gasped, leaning in for a closer look.
Satoru's expression turned grave as he swiftly seized your arm, carefully examining it. His fingers gently probed the discolored skin.
"This doesn't seem like a normal injury," Yuji added. "Could it be some kind of poison or a lingering effect from a cursed technique?"
"Poison??" you echoed.
"Is it spreading?" Yuji continued, his voice rising. "I mean, could it get worse?"
"Worse??"
Satoru remained uncharacteristically silent. He studied your arm with an intensity that was almost unnerving, his brows furrowed. The absence of his usual confident demeanor was more alarming than any of Yuji's anxious questions.
"Satoru?" you asked, your voice trembling. His silence was unlike him, and in that moment, it was the loudest thing in the room.
Satoru finally raised his head. His eyes locking with yours and you saw a flicker of something in his eyes—was it fear? Terror? It was hard to tell, but it was enough to send a shiver down your spine.
"We need to get you to Shoko," he said. "Now."
****
The violet hue had spread further.
The air hung heavy with the scent of antiseptic. Harsh, clinical fluorescent lighting cast stark, sterile shadows across the crisp white walls.
Shoko examined your arm, her gloved hands carefully assessing the discolored and painful area. "It's definitely a cursed technique," she confirmed. "The discoloration and pain are typical of a curse's influence."
"How do we stop it?" Satoru asked.
Removing her gloves, Shoko glanced up, her expression grave. "The only way to reverse this is for the caster to undo it."
Satoru's jaw clenched.
"That's going to be a problem," Yuji remarked. "She... she drowned the sorcerer in the river."
"—along with herself." Satoru added the grim detail as if it was just another piece of information.
You shot Satoru a sharp glance but his expression remained cold.
"Drowned him?" Shoko moved to her desk, her mind working through the implications. "If he were dead, the curse should be gone. He must be alive somewhere."
Yuji chimed in. "But we have no idea where. He could be anywhere by now."
Shoko exhaled heavily. "Then we have a serious issue. Without the caster, this technique will keep spreading. It could be lethal."
The words hung in the air like a death sentence. Your heart raced, panic setting in at the thought of the cursed technique slowly killing you—a ticking time bomb.
At that moment, Megumi burst into the room. "How bad is it?"
His wide eyes scanned the scene, locking onto your arm, where the unnatural color stood out even more under the harsh, clinical lighting. Megumi crossed the room and took your arm, his fingers carefully exploring the discolored skin.
Satoru, standing just a step away, observed the interaction, a storm brewing beneath his calm exterior. You didn't need to look at him to sense it. His hands tensed at his sides, a clear sign of the effort it took to restrain himself.
"It's spreading," his fingers traced the edges of the discolored skin. "We need to find a cure or a way to extract it."
"We guessed as much," Satoru replied, his voice tinged with a hint of irony. His gaze remained fixed on the spot where Megumi's hands touched your skin.
After a brief silence, Yuji spoke up. "Is there any way we can locate the sorcerer? Or break the technique without him?"
Shoko gently shook her head. "Breaking the technique without the caster's intervention is nearly impossible. Cursed techniques are bound by their users, and only they have the ability to undo them."
Megumi's gaze shifted to Shoko. "So, we're just supposed to wait around while this curse eats her alive?"
Somehow you regretted trying to drown the sorcerer. Or perhaps that you had not drowned yourself successfully.
Shoko empathized with his urgency but remained practical. "I'll do my best to alleviate the symptoms and slow down the progression, but I can't promise a complete cure without the caster's cooperation."
"Wait, she can manipulate cursed energy. Why not this curse?" Yuji asked.
All eyes turned to you, the weight of their expectations heavy in the air. "I don't know if this will work."
"Try it," Satoru commanded.
The room fell silent.
You took a deep breath and focused on the cursed energy coursing through your veins. The ominous colour that had stained your arm seemed to pulse in response, as if mocking your attempts to control it.
Gritting your teeth, you tried to manipulate the curse, to command it to recede, to dissipate like smoke in the wind. But the harder you concentrated, the more the pain intensified, surging through your entire body like a searing fire. Every nerve screamed in protest and your vision blurred from the agony.
"I can't," you gasped, your voice strained as you released your hold on the cursed energy. The violet hue on your arm remained as stubborn and unyielding as ever, if not more pronounced.
Satoru's expression darkened. "I'll start looking immediately for that bastard sorcerer."
"I'm coming with you," Megumi declared firmly, with Yuji nodding in agreement.
"No, wait," you attempted to interject, but Megumi, Yuji, and Satoru were already poised to leave. Megumi turned to you. "We'll fix this. Just hold on."
Panic surged through you as the reality of their departure set in.
No.
No.
This can't be happening.
Your voice cracked as you shouted their names.
"Come back to me, you hear?"
But they left without a second wasted, their steps echoing down the empty corridor, and you remained alone in the now silent room.
So stupid.
Seconds stretched into minutes. Each passing moment added to the growing void that enveloped you. The weight of your choices pressed down, and you wished you could turn back time. But you can't.
So fucking stupid.
Your fists clenched tightly, nails digging into your palms until they started to bleed.
How could you be so fucking stupid.
Shoko unfolded your clenched fists, revealing the crescent marks your nails had left in your skin. "Easy, sweet girl," she soothed.
"It's all my fault," you murmured, barely audible. "I keep putting them in danger."
"They are sorcerers. This is the life they chose. Don't carry the burden of their decisions."
As she spoke, she applied her reverse cursed technique to your hands. The sting of the cuts faded away as swiftly as they had appeared. You clenched your fists a few times to relieve the tension.
"How long do I have left?"
Shoko hesitated, her eyes meeting yours. The pause was enough to tighten the knot of fear in your stomach. "A week, maybe."
The room felt colder—emptier.
A week.
Each tick of the clock felt like a countdown now.
Tick.
A constant reminder that time was slipping away.
Tick.
And you had no idea if you could find a solution before it was too late.
Tick.
****
Christmas at Jujutsu High was far from the festive celebration one might have hoped for, especially under the current circumstances. With Satoru and the others out there, risking their lives to rectify your mistake, the holiday spirit was the last thing on your mind. Instead, you were left in the company of Nobara and Maki, each dealing with the situation in their own unique way.
The school was quieter than usual. You sat in the common room, a half-hearted attempt at celebrating Christmas. Yet, the festive decorations appeared out of context. A small tree stood in the corner, adorned with a mess of decorations—its cheerful sparkle felt cruel.
"Well, at least we've got the place to ourselves. Who needs a bunch of noisy guys around, right?" Nobara tried to sound upbeat, but her smile didn't quite reach her eyes.
Maki chimed in. "Yeah, enjoy the peace and quiet. It's not every Christmas you get a cursed technique as a gift. Talk about unique presents."
You couldn't help but wince at the joke. It was too close to the bone.
Over the past two days, the sinister purple hue of the poison had crept insidiously beyond the confines of your arm, now tracing a chilling path up your neck and across your chest. Each morning revealed a further spread of the discoloration.
The thought that you might still have a week suddenly seemed optimistic—the reality was unfolding much faster and more aggressively.
The conversation drifted to attempts at normalcy, discussing plans for New Year's Eve, but your thoughts kept circling back to Satoru and the others. Were they all right? Had they found any leads? The worry gnawed at you, a constant reminder that time was running out.
"Hey, lavender girl. You're with us, remember? They're strong; they'll be fine."
You ignored the 'lavender girl'.
"Yeah," Maki added. "Besides, if it's anyone's last Christmas, it's probably yours, right?"
You ignored that too.
The afternoon wore on, filled with half-hearted attempts at festivity. Nobara and Maki came up with one bad idea after another. Now you decorated gingerbread cookies. It was Nobara's idea. Fucking gingerbread cookies. Each sugary smile you piped felt like a mockery of the situation.
"Look," Nobara picked up a gingerbread man. "I made a cookie version of you—starts off sweet but ends up cursed!"
A dry chuckle escaped your lips as you inspected the gingerbread man with its half-violet coating and two X's marking its eyes. It was a dark yet fitting joke. "I guess that makes it the most authentic gingerbread man here."
"And here's mine," Maki held up a gingerbread figure that was missing an arm. "It's Gojo after he comes back from saving you."
Nobara laughed. "Oh, we're terrible. This is what happens when you leave three sorcerers alone on Christmas with a bunch of cookies."
Nobara picked up another gingerbread figure, this one decorated with wild icing patterns. "And this one's Yuji, right? Looks just as confused as he does half the time."
"Yeah, but at least the cookie doesn't scream as much," Maki quipped, earning a snort of laughter from Nobara.
What's wrong with them?
Should you be seriously concerned about their mental health?
You continued to pipe icing on the gingerbread figures. But it became increasingly difficult to move your right hand. It was now fully violet, poisoned from the curse, only the fingertips retaining their normal skin color. The discomfort grew more evident with each squeeze of the icing bag. A sharp twinge shot up your arm.
"This all sucks," you slammed your hand down on the counter, the pain momentarily overshadowing. "What are we even doing here?"
Your voice echoed in the room. Maki and Nobara looked at you. In the midst of your frustration, your phone buzzed, breaking the heavy silence that had settled in the room. You glanced at the screen. It was Megumi.
"We're all okay. Might have a lead on the sorcerer. Don't worry too much."
Reading the words, a wave of relief washed over you. They were safe, for now. But at the same time, a surge of frustration and anxiety welled up within you. Why hadn't he said more? Why hadn't Satoru called? Where were they even? Did they sleep enough? Eat enough?
You hated that you couldn't do anything for them. That you were left behind; unable to do anything. The idea of baking gingerbread cookies for their return now felt like a cruel joke. Your arm throbbed heavily. You grabbed it and wished you could rip it off.
"That's it. We're going outside," Nobara announced.
Before you could protest, she was already ushering you and Maki out of the room. The cold air hit you as you stepped outside, the school grounds blanketed in a thick layer of snow. Nobara led you both to the training ground; the snow crunching under your feet.
There, she hastily thrust bows into your hands. "We're going to let it all out," she declared, setting up targets across the field. You looked at the bow in your hands, then at Maki, who seemed equally surprised by Nobara's sudden initiative.
Nobara had quickly sketched out caricatures of curses on pieces of paper. She diligently hung them on the targets, stepping back to admire her handiwork. She turned to you with a mischievous grin. "Should I draw a Gojo target too?"
You had no idea if it was a joke or if she was serious.
"Or maybe Megumi?" she continued.
"Neither," you responded just as your first arrow whistled through the air, narrowly missing Nobara and embedding itself in the target. "Yeah," Maki's bow followed closely. "Let's just focus on these," she urged.
You took your position. Drawing the bowstring back, you felt the tension in your muscles despite the pain, the cold air biting at your cheeks. Releasing the arrow, you watched as it flew across the field, striking the target with a satisfying thud.
That was much better than making fucking gingerbread.
Draw. Aim. Release. Again. Draw. Aim. Release. Again. After several rounds, you all paused, catching your breath in the crisp winter air. Nobara, retrieving her arrows, turned to you with a smirk. "You're pretty good at this. Sure you don't want to put a Gojo target up there? Might be therapeutic."
You couldn't help but smile. "No, thanks. I think I'm good without imagining I'm shooting at him."
Maki chuckled, joining in. "Honestly, I wouldn't mind a few rounds at a Gojo target myself. Just for stress relief, of course."
"You know," Nobara said as she nocked another arrow, "—this could be our new training regimen. Anger management through archery."
"Seems effective," you agreed, feeling a bit more relaxed as you lined up another shot.
Maki nodded, releasing another arrow. "Definitely better than meditation or whatever else they try to make us do. I prefer action."
Arrows flew, one after the other, finding their mark with satisfying thuds. The rhythm of drawing, aiming, and releasing had become almost meditative—a much-needed distraction. In a fleeting moment between one arrow's release and the next, you paused. The bow lowered in your hands. "Satoru asked me to marry him."
The statement hung in the air. Nobara and Maki froze. Their jaws might as well have hit the snow-covered ground.
"What? Fucking Satoru Gojo, the strongest sorcerer on earth, proposed to you?"
Nobara blinked a few times, as if to clear her vision or perhaps to make sure she hadn't misheard. "Wait, wait, wait. Are we talking about the same Satoru? The one with blindfold and white hair? That Satoru Gojo??"
You raised your bow again and aimed. "Yeah, that very Satoru Gojo."
A moment of silence passed before both of them burst out laughing. "Wow," Nobara managed to say between giggles. "This is—I mean, congratulations, but wow!"
Maki shook her head, still chuckling. "I guess this means our little archery session here is technically your bachelorette party, huh?"
"Wait," Nobara halted. "You did say'yes', right?"
You paused, your bow still raised. "I—I didn't get the chance to answer. We were interrupted."
Nobara's eyes widened. "You left Satoru Gojo hanging? Now that's something I'd have paid to see."
Maki cocked her head. "But you're going to say yes, right? I mean, it's Satoru Gojo we're talking about."
"I guess I should," you said, lowering the bow. "Shouldn't I?"
"You'd be stupid not to," Nobara shook her head in disbelief. "He's been mooning over you with those puppy eyes. I swear, I've never seen him like that with anyone else."
"True," Maki agreed. "Even I noticed it, and I usually don't pay attention to these things."
Curiosity gleamed in Nobara's eyes as she leaned in closer. "Okay, but you have to tell us how he did it. Satoru Gojo proposing must have been something out of the ordinary, right?"
You hesitated. Remembering that he had literally asked you to marry him, to stop you doing stupid things. Like trying to kill yourself.  "It doesn't really matter how he asked," you said. "At this rate, with the poison spreading, I might not even make it to the end of the week."
Nobara stopped smiling.
A sudden wave of powerful cursed energy sent shivers down your spine. You turned.
"Are you the one afflicted with the curse?"
Yuta Okkotsu approached you, a figure you recognized only from photos and the stories told by others. His presence was commanding, his gaze intense but not unkind.
You nodded.
Yuta's eyes briefly scanned the visible violet hue on your skin. "Gojo-Sensei and the others might have cornered the sorcerer responsible. I'm heading out to back them up," his tone suggesting urgency.
For a moment, the world seemed to pause. "I'm coming with you."
Nobara and Maki immediately tensed. "You should stay here," Maki said firmly, looking at you. "It's safer, and we can't risk the curse getting worse."
But you were resolute. "I can't just sit here and do nothing while they're out there because of me. I need to be there."
Yuta observed you closely. His expression unreadable as he surveyed your exposed, discolored skin, now riddled with pulsing veins. Anticipating his words, you cut in firmly, "Don't pity me. I can still handle myself."
Yuta paused, considering the situation. His gaze met yours. "I'm not in a position to give you orders," he finally said, a subtle nod indicating his acceptance of your decision.
Maki exhaled sharply. "This is insane. You know that, right?" She crossed her arms. "You can barely stand without faltering every few steps."
They were right. The poison coursing through your veins was taking its toll, sapping your strength and clouding your judgement. But the harsh reality was that, with the poison's relentless spread, it might already be too late to make a difference, no matter what actions you took.
At that moment, a sharp, icy sensation shot through your face, as if a cold spear were tracing a slow, deliberate path along the right side of your jaw. The curse crept with an unnerving stealth; silently marking its territory on your skin.
"I know the risks," you replied.
Yuta regarded you for a moment longer before turning towards the exit. "We should move quickly then. Time is of the essence."
As you followed him, Nobara and Maki reluctantly fell into step beside you. "I now know why Gojo always says you're stubborn,"  Nobara said, a small smile played on her lips. "But I like that about you."
****
You were adrift in a sea of thoughts, unaware of your surroundings or the passage of time. The journey's duration—whether it was an hour or twenty—blurred into a haze. Is Satoru even still alive? Are Megumi and Yuji all right? Are they hurt?
Stepping out of the car, you mechanically followed Yuta. Smoke and ash filled the air.
It was strange.
As you moved closer to the site, the poison within you seemed to spread more rapidly; weaving its way through your veins with a newfound urgency. Each step felt like it stirred the curse to life, hastening its spread. The world around you tilted and swayed, blurring the lines between reality and haze. The surroundings felt surreal, almost detached from reality.
Step.
The curse spread further.
Step.
The pain intensified.
The curse's relentless spread soon reached parts of your face, its insidious presence clouding your vision. It enveloped your body to such an extent that walking became an excruciating effort.
Maki and Nobara were quick to notice. They came to your aid, each taking an arm to support you, to help you—to help you walk. It's pathetic.
No got for anything after all.
So stupid.
Breathing became torturous. Your lungs seared with every breath, as if scorched by the curse itself. How much time remained for you? Hours? Minutes?
Spilled blood traced marble patterns into white snow.
Amidst this turmoil, one hope clung tenaciously to your heart—the desire to see Satoru one last time. To lay eyes on him, if only once more.
"What the hell—" Nobara stopped.
You found yourself on the precipice of what used to be a bustling part of the city, now reduced to a desolate battlefield. Buildings lay in ruins. Debris littered the ground. Smoke curled into the sky. Nothing human moved. The only sounds were the wind rustling through shattered glass and the soft falling of snow.
It smelled like burnt flesh.
For a long time, none of you could speak. You looked at Yuta, but his face was a mask.
"What the fuck did happen?" Maki inquired, her voice edged as she surveyed the destruction.
Yuta remained silent, his expression grave. Somehow, you felt that he knew only too well what had happened. When he turned to you, his gaze confirmed your thoughts without a word.
"Did Gojo do this?" Maki pressed.
"Do you know someone else, able to erase a whole city?" Nobara said dryly. She covered her nose, trying to shield herself from the acrid stench of burnt flesh that permeated the air.
"The civilians were evacuated in time," Yuta remarked, as if he sensed your unspoken fear of seeing corpses.
You remained motionless. It was a long time before you remembered how to breathe. The devastation before you too horrific to fully process. Your eyes watered. The stench was overwhelming.
Maybe it was the poison, maybe it was your mind—clouding your senses—trying to protect you; protect you from the harsh reality of what Satoru Gojo—the man you loved—was capable of.
You always saw it. Always knew that he was ruthless when he had no one holding him back. He loved the fray. Just as much as you did.
Suddenly, cutting through the haze, a familiar voice called out your name.
Then a face.
Then a smile.
Megumi.
Megumi.
The pain seemed to vanish.
You rushed towards him; heart pounding like a wildfire. His eyes widened in shock at your appearance, but you barely registered his reaction. All you wanted in that moment was to feel the warmth of his presence against your increasingly cold skin.
Your nearly caused him to stumble as you desperately clung to him. "Easy," he managed to say, his voice strained with effort. He was wounded, more severely than you had ever seen him. The sight of his injuries almost made you cry.
"Are you okay? Are you fine?" you asked quickly, your words tumbling out in a rush of worry and relief; his presence a painfully missed sense of comfort amidst the chaos.
"I'm fine," he reassured you, pulling you closer, his arms around you. You could feel the steady beat of his heart—feel the warmth of his presence—smell his scent. It felt like home. You wanted to stand forever in his embrace.
"I'm more worried about you," he said. Gently, he pushed you back just enough to take a closer look at your skin. His eyes darkened. "Fuck, why is it spreading so fast?"
"It started accelerating as soon as we got closer," Nobara added, her voice close behind you as she moved nearer.
Megumi's gaze shifted sharply to Yuta, his expression hardening. "We have to finish this now. We need to take him down."
What?
"You haven't killed him yet?" Maki echoed your thoughts.
Megumi averted his gaze. His arm still securely around your waist. You looked up at him. "Gojo has him cornered. He believes this sorcerer knows something crucial, something that could end all of this."
"And that's worth more than her life?" Nobara shouted.
"We didn't realize the poison had progressed this far," Megumi admitted, his tone laced with regret.
"You never thought of asking?" Nobara accused Megumi.
Wait.
If he's still alive, that means—
"I need to see him," you cut Nobara off, addressing Megumi. "Take me to that sorcerer."
"Are you out of your mind? We should just call Gojo and have him take care of it. In your condition, you might not even get there."
"I don't care!"
Megumi shook his head hastily. "We can't take that risk."
"Don't treat me like fragile glass, Megumi. Not now."
"Hard when you look like you're dying."
You paused for a second.
Leaning in closer, you lowered your voice so only Megumi could hear. "Megumi, If you have even the slightest feeling for me, you'll take me to him."
He looked tired. He looked sad. He looked scared. All at once, as he looked down at you. "You're asking too much," he said, his voice hoarse.
"And I know you hate me for it."
It was unfair of you. You knew it. You saw it.
However, the urgency of the situation was clear in your mind. If they killed the sorcerer, you might never get the answers you needed. You weren't stupid enough to think that Satoru would wait a second to kill the sorcerer when they called him—when they told him what state you were in. You had to be there first.
Megumi's eyes searched yours for a moment. "Then let's go."
****
The screaming was the first thing you heard.
Then the sound of punches.
Then blood spitting onto the ground.
It hurt—seeing him like that fucking hurt.
Blood stained his clothes. His white hair tinted red. Scratches across his arms. His frame marred by injuries that seemed impossible.
Amidst the debris and the remains of the battle, Satoru Gojo stood, his presence dominating the space. He was interrogating the sorcerer—no, torturing the sorcerer. His voice cut through the din with a sharp, merciless edge as he landed another bow on the sorcerer's face. Bones gave way to his force.
You, too, had lost yourself in battle. You had gone further than you should have, had hurt others when you should have stopped.  But this—
You tried not to cry.
It was odd. It was odd that Satoru did not seem to be aware of your presence as you approached. He always had an uncanny ability to sense you, often joking about being able to detect your 'reckless ass' even if you were on another continent.
The fact that he hadn't noticed you yet was unsettling. He was so lost in madness that it eclipsed everything else—even you.
And then Yuji.
Yuji looked defeated. As if he had seen death himself. He sat on the remains of what looked like a building, his head down, staring into nothingness. It broke your heart to see him like that. He didn't deserve this. Not him. Not Megumi. No one.
It was your fault. Your battle. Not theirs.
"Satoru," you whispered, blood slowly trickling from the corner of your mouth as you spoke. Megumi's hand was still around your waist, supporting you as you felt the last grains of your strength slipping away. Time was running out. You felt it.
In an instant, as if jolted from a trance, Satoru's head snapped in your direction. His eyes wide in terror with a color you'd never seen before. He was by your side in a heartbeat. Swiftly, he took you from Megumi's supportive hold.
"Oh love," he pressed you tightly against his chest, as if he feared you would vanish at any second. It almost hurt. The usual barrier of his infinity seemed to falter, his cursed energy swirling chaotically around him. His fingers trembled as they brushed against your skin, tracing the path of the poison that marred your skin.
"What happened here?" you asked.
"There were so many—too many." His words quivered in the air, a tone of vulnerability you had never heard from him before.
Your heart ached at the sight of him. "I'm sorry, Satoru—," you said gently. In that moment, he seemed more in need of saving than you. You struggled to maintain composure, the pain in his eyes nearly derailing your resolve. "—but you need to help me now."
He looked up, his eyes meeting yours. But your attention was swiftly drawn to something behind him.
Behind Satoru, amidst the wreckage, the bruised sorcerer's gaze lifted to meet yours. He sat propped against the remnants of a building. Nanami beside him, holding him in place. Despite his bruised and bloodied state, the sorcerer's bloodshot eyes gleamed with a disturbing glee. His lips curled into a smile. He smiled. He mocked you.
For a moment, time seemed to stand still. You clenched involuntarily.
Satoru's gaze flickered briefly to the sorcerer, then back to you.
"Kill him!" Satoru shouted over his shoulder at Nanami.
Nanami, poised to deliver a fatal blow.
"No!" you screamed, louder than Satoru, pushing yourself out of his grip. You tried to run towards the sorcerer. But Satoru was quick to stop you, wrapping his arms around your waist and pulling you back.
Nanami's arm cocked back, ready to strike at any second.
"Don't!"
"What are you saying?" Satoru abruptly swung you around, yanking at your shoulders, nearly making you cry out in pain. "You're dying!" he shouted. Then he turned to Nanami again. "Kill him!!"
You struggled against Satoru's grip. Fingers digging into his skin. "Fuck! Satoru, let me go!"
Nanami's arm snapped forward with blinding speed.
"There's a mole in your school."
Nanami froze. Everyone froze.
The sorcerer spoke. His teeth were stained red.
"There's a mole in your school, leaking every move you make," he rasped.
You tried to push Satoru desperately aside, but it was in vain. "Who is it?" you demanded of the sorcerer.
It was a trap. Of course it was. Every second he gained was a second you lost. But you played along. Either it was the poison that will kill you, or these people who were after your head. It didn't matter.
"Kill him, Nanami!"
Yet, Nanami hesitated.
Satoru moved to end the sorcerer himself. You reached out. Your hands grabbed Satoru's collar. "I swear to God, Satoru, if you won't let me have my way, I'll never marry you!" Your voice cracked, spilling blood as you screamed at him.
Satoru's eyes widened in shock. It was unfair. But right now, you had other worries. He cursed under his breath. His hold on you tightened as you almost fainted in his arms. Yet you persisted. "Who is it?"
The sorcerer coughed. "You're looking in the wrong direction."
He's trying to buy time.
"Nanami!" Satoru yelled again. His gaze sweeping over Yuta, Yuji, Megumi, Nobara, and Maki. They stood motionless. Either terror or tears filled their eyes.
"Who the hell is it?" You shouted as you clung to Satorus' arms, which held you back.
"You should really pay a visit to—" The sorcerer, choking on his own blood, struggled to answer.
The venomous curse within you was killing you. You could feel it. Your lungs burned as if filled with molten lead. Your vision started to dim, the edges darkening, closing in like the final curtain of a tragic play. Still you pushed further.
"Say it, you asshole!"
Then everything went black.
But it wasn't the poison.
Satoru had knocked you out.
The last sound you heard was the slicing of flesh.
I was gonna ask you for ☕☕☕ on Kim characterisations but I know that could put you at risk of assassination 💀 so free choice! Any ☕ on anything you need to get off your chest - I love u
😂 it is a choose violence game, let's play with fire 🔥 three Kim characterizations i don't much care for:
writing Kim as really old
like. hmmmm. i feel like a lot of fic out there is just really bad at characterizing young 20 yos, there are a lot of stories that write Kim's vibes like he's 38 yo or something. it's. bizarre. 21/22 yo is still so young. there's still so much uncertainty at that age and so much self-discovery to come. i've complained about this before so i don't want to just rehash that but. yeesh. some people really kinda suck at writing "kid in college" aged characters.
not letting Kim be playful
honestly, this one kinda follows on the previous point? there's a very annoying trend of writing ~older~ characters as only ever very serious. and like, aside from the irritation at the way people are really bad at early 20s vibes, people never outgrow playfulness. in canon, i'm pointing to Porsche trapping Kinn under the sheets and farting or them huffing their morning breaths in each other's faces (i love u canon ❤). but people still do ridiculous shit at 40/50/60/70/80/ALL THE AGES too. 40yo sisters who greet each other by punching the other in the boob. the 60yo neighbor who tells me my shoelaces are untied every time he sees me in sandals. the 50yo uncle who flicks popcorn in the mouths of anyone who falls asleep during movie night. there's no age limit to this sort of thing!
but while some of the ultra seriousness seems to be a weird age thing, it's like people also missed that Kim is playful? he's very intense when he's in mafia business mode and he's a nightmare to the guards (❤), but he plays along with Khun. he teases Chay. he has a good rapport with other university students. he can be more lowkey playful than others, but Kim's not made of stone, he has his fun too.
Wik being a burden on Kim
this one starts running into differences in headcanon-- like personally, i'm looking for fics where Wik is Kim's home. i've cried about this elsewhere so i'll keep it short, but Wik is the life Kim poured blood, sweat, and tears into to build up brick by brick. Wik is the life Kim wants, it's the parts of him he thinks are the best of him. i actually make the MC of the ep4 university one of Kim's best friends (i call him Green), and one of my favorite headcanons i've come up with for them is that everyone thinks Green twists Kim's arm into doing outreach events, but actually Green is Kim's connection to university news because he loves doing them but never knows who to ask. Kim desperately wants to be a source of good inspiration to others and have purpose outside of violence, and Wik is his way of doing that. Wik is not a burden on Kim (in fact, i'd argue Kim all but said he is a burden on Wik, but i digress).
so, that's my personal preference for Kim's relationship with Wik, but obviously not everyone's going to have the same characterization and that's cool. where i start to get annoyed is when people write him as very...hmm. dismissive? of it. or otherwise seems like he doesn't like any aspect of it. i straight up back click on any fic that has Kim fuck up the name of some popular musician. this is not a specific call out, but for example-- i remember reading something where there was this offhand line of Kim being like "and there's a request for a show with some other musician, wangson jack?" and just. no. back click, goodbye, nope. shit like that really starts to bug me. some of it is personal irritation at how awful a lot of english speakers are towards asian artists (which like. random fandom people are not at fault for the crimes of USamerican music reporters. but maybe consider that until people overall are less shitty and dismissive towards them, one off lines referencing real life musicians like this are better off deleted). but over all i just...really, really dislike disrespectful attitudes like that (esp for something related to the arts) and i don't want to read them in my favorite character. Kim is pursuing a career in the music industry for himself--Kim being, u know, Kim, he's going to take it very seriously and with that, also hold a lot of respect towards his fellow musicians generally speaking. at the very least, he's going to be cordial and pleasant with them because no one likes working with an asshole and Kim is trying to keep his mafia bullshit far away from his Wik goals. not everyone's going to have the same characterization headcanons i do for how much i think Kim would pour himself into music and love it, but i really don't vibe with any take where Wik is a burden on or a drag for Kim.
and a bonus ☕ because i luv u too anon: anything where Kim doesn't love his brothers or sees them as actual competition instead of the ones he wants to protect the most. this is not a surprise to anyone here, u all know how much i love brothers, but i've noticed that fandom gets kinda caught up in the chess metaphors sometimes. and to that i say: 1. Terry Pratchett yall: sin is when you treat people like things. 2. Terry Pratchett again: chess is a stupid ass metaphor for real life. 3. kp canon agrees with that. Korn is shit at playing chess. (the fucking. ep1 game. omfg. Chan is all but eating his pieces to let Korn win. i'm still howling over the scholars mate in ep5.) Korn is noticeably shit at all his hobbies that are metaphors for controlling people. which is the point! the boys fail every time they try to play his games, because you cannot play people like you would a game. every triumph is rooted in overturning the game board completely.
When Steve was eleven, he was told that he was going to die. Naturally, he burst into tears. His mother immediately pulled him to her chest, shushing him gently while his father yelled at their doctor.
“He’s just a child!”
“It’s important for your son to know that leukemia isn’t possible to survive-”
“Bullshit!”
Steve cried harder in his mother’s arms, even after they left the office.
Back home, his mother knelt down, looked Steve in the eye, and said, “You are going to live, baby. You are still going to grow up to be a smart, healthy man. You will fight that cancer and live.”
It was easy to make a promise. It was harder to follow through it.
After the urgent move to Indianapolis, Steve’s days fell into a blur of check-ups, medicine, throwing up, and exhaustion. He spent more days at the hospital than at his new school. He wasn’t sure which place was worse. The clinical words and smells with thin blankets and more sick children like him or the classrooms where apologetic teachers gave him too many lavish gifts while the other kids avoided him.
But there was one boy who declared himself as Steve’s buddy. Steve thought he would hate Theodore Munson, but he didn’t. Theodore (“Just Teddy! My full name makes me feel like I’m Roosevelt.”) never stared at Steve or asked about his leukemia or poked at his thin arms. Instead, Teddy always asked how his day went and listened to every word, even if it was a foggy repetition of hospital visits. If Steve said he was tired, Teddy never announced it to their teachers and just silently offered some cookies or juice under their desks. During recess and lunch, Teddy sat next to him and spoke excitedly about the new comics or movies Steve never had the chance to check himself.
It was always nice listening to Teddy talk. Way better than a doctor reading his statistics aloud like it was an eulogy.
When the chemotherapy inevitably snuck into his schedule, Steve cried and begged everyone to keep his hair. He was already The Kid With Cancer. He didn’t want his hair shaved off.
Nobody listened to him.
A couple days later, Steve wore a Reds cap. He refused to wear the knitted wool hat his Nana had made for him like he was five again. That would just push his classmates into bullying him for real.
He came to school late, not wanting to join the student crowd. He stopped when he saw Teddy sitting on the steps, his shaven head in his arms.
For a second, Steve thought that Teddy somehow knew and wanted to shave his hair in solidarity. And then Teddy looked up and he saw a nasty black eye. They stared at each other for a long time until both of their eyes welled up in tears.
“Your hair’s gone.” Teddy said wetly after they ran into each other for a hug.
“So ‘s yours.” Steve sniffs, daring himself to pat the buzzed scalp.
“My dad got mad last night.”
Teddy told him about his dad enough that his muffled words made Steve tighten his grip. “At least you’re not dying.”
Teddy barked out a wet laugh, “Just don’t leave me first.”
It was an easy promise to accept. Except it was already broken when Teddy never showed at school the next day. And then Steve was alone again.
I’m in remission. I still have a future. I’m going to live. Steve repeated that mantra to himself in his car, staring from afar at the ominous entrance of Hawkins High.
It had been a good year and a half since the doctors finally gave the good news. Steve was always a crier, but he’d only stared up at the ceiling in silent disbelief while his parents wept joyfully. The news never really hit him until two months later, when he touched an inch of new hair in the bathroom, and then sobbed and thanked God for letting him live.
Even if that little what if it comes back lingered in the back of his mind.
Now, he was thrown back to Hawkins, which included starting his sophomore year in person.
But old habits still stayed. Steve kept seated in his car and watched the other students walk inside while they laughed with healthy smiles. Even after the bell rang, he stayed. After a good five minutes, Steve’s courage returned and he stepped out.
He only took three steps when a van suddenly appeared, scaring the shit out of him with a blaring honk. Steve jumped back and flipped the driver off. “Watch it, asshole!” He stomped away, his mood broken further by the van’s door opening. Great, now he’s gonna be in a shouting match in front of the school-
“Steve?”
He froze. Turned around slowly.
Teddy, all dressed in some dark clothes with long hair. Teddy, who stared back at him with wide eyes. Teddy, Teddy, Teddy-
Steve wasn’t sure who ran towards the other first, but it was Steve who hugged the tightest and cried first.
“Holy shit,” Teddy laughed wetly in his ear, “Your hair-” He leaned away so his hands were placed on both sides of Steve’s head. They felt warm and oddly right. “You look so much healthier…”
Steve just smiled, a little blush in his cheeks as he said, “I got better.” He watched as the realization dropped on Teddy in real time. Then he was pulled into a more tighter and fiercer hug, already feeling a wet patch on his shoulder.
There were definitely lots of things they needed to catch up on. But Steve’s more contempt in sharing his warmth with his friend.
