It's kind of funny (heartbreaking) that there were multiple Ravens who wanted a number, to the point where some tried to manipulate Jean into helping them one way or another, but none of them would have been next in line. No matter what they did, there was always someone ahead of them on the list. Someone who wasn't even on the team. That someone wasn't Neil. Neil was a surprise to everyone, including Riko. That someone was Andrew.

Kevin might have had to beg Riko to go visit Andrew, and Riko might have laughed at Kevin and dismissed Andrew when Andrew turned him down, but make no mistake, if Andrew had accepted and had become a Raven, he would have taken that #4 spot within his first year.

If we're being real, Andrew had more of a chance at becoming part of the perfect Court than any of those Ravens ever had. Even Jean thinks of Andrew as one of them.

The other Ravens never stood a chance.

i found riko's death pretty horrifying, actually.

yes, i understand what he did to kevin, jean, neil, and everyone else that crossed his path. i understand that there was no real hope for changing him, and that his death was the only way to end his reign but. he's still very human. he was barely an adult, never really got to be a kid but never really allowed to mature either. he lived underground too, under threat of violence. all he wanted was for his father to love him (not even love, just acknowledge). he wanted to prove that he was worthy of his #1 - desperately, dangerously so. he needed to be #1 the same way kevin did - he was just as much of an object as any other player on the team. yes, he was cruel, and horrible, and he enjoyed it, but on the other hand. what other choice did he have? he was born to be evil and taught it was the only way to win, and winning was the only way to live. he'll never know there were any other options, because he lost his usefulness, acted out too much, and was disposed of casually, by his brother who he never got to meet. riko was doomed from the moment he was born, and he spent every waking moment trying to prove himself worthy to live.

he's so human. he screams when he's in pain, he's upset when people say mean things to him, but those things arent allowed for a raven, much less a moriyama. his body jerks a little when the bullet enters his brain.

Yall ever think about how Riko forcing Neil to play backliner is ultimately the reasons the ravens lost to the foxes? If he hadn't done that the foxes defense would never have been able to keep up with the raven strikers and Riko would've won. But Riko was so obsessed with his perfect court and Neil playing the exact position he did at age ten that he handed the foxes the keys to victory.

I DO my idea is that its around the same age kevin and riko met in canon so tetsuji kicks the bucket when riko is 7/8 and riko is (very forcibly) removed from the nest and sidelined to kayleigh as a new moriyama asset from the main branch takes over the nest. riko struggles a lot with the change because he is very young and very scared and he’s used to horrible things at tetsuji’s hand, which means that he doesn’t trust kayleigh and finds kevin entirely too weird. it’s honestly really cute because i think at this point obviously 7 year old kevin wants to befriend him but riko is such an anxious ball of anger that most of their interactions are like

baby riko: what do you WANT from me. go AWAY!!!! NOW

baby kevin: (heavy irish accent) nothing i think. do you want a bite of my sandwich?

anyway i think riko and kayleigh do get along but he never really considers her his mother or even godmother, for a long time he thinks of her as his Benefactor until the child therapy starts hitting and she becomes Aunt Kayleigh and then after a few more years he can be loosely convinced to refer to her as auntie once or twice a year. his second son syndrome never really leaves him; in the upcoming years riko struggles with the idea that he’s anything But an add-on to the days and still overworks himself to death trying to be acknowledged by kengo, but it’s leaps better just from being outside the nest and having people to look out for him

riko and kevin have some rough patches, especially during riko’s first years with the days. because kevin is an easy target and riko is afraid of kayleigh he ends up letting a lot of that anger out on kevin, though obviously at this point they are children and riko’s anger manifests in some mild bullying and name calling. i think kevin doesn’t even understand it most of the time 😭 riko has been around grown ups his entire life so his adult level insults make no sense to kevin’s seven year old mind. nevertheless after kayleigh tells him to stop picking on kevin riko does respect it (first out of fear, then later because they actually get along) and they go on to become brothers with only a slight tendency towards antagonism. riko’s jealousy of kevin is still a big part of their relationship and i think even more so when college applications roll around, and he’s even more worried when wymack comes into the picture, but it never culminates into anything as horrible as hand breaking because riko has an actual outlet and a support system :) it’s mostly a yelling match that eventually turns to getting scolded by kayleigh for acting like barbarians

You know what trope should get more attention in Blue Exorcist fanfics ? Rin being posessed/brainwashed/manipulated by Satan and going full power against his friends.

Let's be honest here, Rin is a freaking NUKE in comparison to his friends and something in me needs for the to realize just how fucking powerful Rin acctualy is. And what better way to achieve that than with getting their asses WHOOPED ?

Ofcourse Rin get's snapped out of it before he can acctualy kill anyone. But he should do considerable damage before he goes back to normal.

I mean just imagine the scenario for a moment : The pure angst this would entail.

Yukio not knowing if he will acctualy die at the hands of his brother.

Shiemi just hoplessly starring at Rin's cold, dead eyes as he mindelessly hacks away at his friends.

Bon who for the first time realizes how easily Rin could've killed them all if he wanted to.

Izumo being forced to watch helplessy because nothing they throw at Rin can stop him

And now imagine the aftermath. They manage to break Rin free and get him back to normal and fuck, they were never so glad that Rin wasn't acctualy their enemy. After the battle was done and their injuries healed everything seemed to go back to normal, Rin even stopped apologizing after their wounds were laregly healed, but they'd be lying if they saidd it didn't influence them.

These days they are much more insistent of Rin being on their side if doubts came up, they were afterall the only ones to expierence what an enemy Rin is like.

Shiemi tries to stop it , but when she sees those blue flames aimed at an enemy she can't help but have flashbacks of when Rin's flames were aimed at her.

If Bon and Izumo keep an eye out for any other demons or enemies with the possibilities to control people, especially when Rin is with them, it's their problem and no one elses.

And if Yukio sometimes just stares at his brother after a nightmare of that horrible day , just to make sure Rin is himself , then that's also his problem and no one else's

if you mean horror movie related ones then not really (though i did have some thoughts bouncing around while watching pet semetary). but i do have quite a few that could be considered horror/halloweeny.

im planning on posting some of them for halloween!! i have a kandreil one where andrew is a were wolf, kevin is a vampire, and neil is a kitsune. i also have one where andrew is a ghost (posted on my account already), and one where jean is some sort of mythical creature (possibly fae angel demon etc) that is bound to riko and has to do his bidding no matter what, i have one with demon andrew and witch neil/kevin, one where riko comes back as a ghost and haunts either kevin or jean, etc etc you get the point haha. i also have some more darker ones like some about dark things riko did in the nest to hurt kevin and jean, some ones about butcher neil, serial killer andrew, again etc etc
