Uncharismatic Fact of the Day
Although they may appear to give birth to live young like a mammal, whale sharks are actually ovoviviparous meaning that they fertilize and hatch their eggs internally. A single mother can produce up to 300 eggs, and each one is 30 cm (12 in.) long-- twice the size of an ostrich egg!

AVNJ on youtube is having a invent a fish contest so I made the False Orca Shark!
Here’s the bio I wrote for this dude:
Kingdom: Animalia Phylum: Chordata Class: Chondrichthyes Order: Orectolobiformes Family: Lucemaculidae Genus: Occisornus Species: O. falsus
The false orca shark (Occisornus falsus) is a slow-moving, bottom feeding carpet shark that feeds on mostly sea grass and detritus. False orcas live in tropical epipelagic waters. It ranges in size from 16-23 ft long, making it one of the largest extant shark species, behind the whale shark and basking shark. It is also comparable in size to a small orca whale, which it imitates in appearance and behavior. Evidence suggests that the false orca mimics the orca whale as a defense from predators. The false orca’s other defenses from predators include their large size, and their tendency group in schools of 2-8 individuals. Though theses schools look similar to a pod of orcas, their social dynamics are much simpler. The false orca feeds by sucking plants and decomposing organic materials from the sea floor into its downward facing mouth. It has sensitive barbels that can detect food through touch and chemoreception. False orcas are very gentle and rarely, if ever, attack humans.

sharks are an elasmobranch fish, a subclass of cartilaginous fish. there are eight orders, or families, of sharks that are categorized by their biology !!
shark orders within elasmobranchii:
classifications;
heterodontiformes(bullhead or horn sharks) - five gill slits, a dorsal fin with a strong spine and flat and sharp teeth in their mouth. an example of this is horn sharks.
orectolobiformes(carpetshark) - five gill slits, 2 spineless dorsal fins, an anal fin and spiracles(paired openings which take in water and ventilate the gills) near their eyes. an example of this is whale sharks.
lamniformes(mackrel sharks) - five gill slits, a large mouth with several rows of teeth, two dorsal fins, and anal fin and the ability to maintain a higher body temperature than the water around them. an example of this is great white sharks.
carcharhiniformes(ground sharks) - five gill slits, moveable eyelids which protect their eyes from injuries, two spineless dorsal fins, an anal fin and a large mouth with sharp teeth located behind their eyes. an example of this is hammerhead sharks.
squaliformes(dogfish sharks)- found in nearly every marine habitat, they have long snouts and a short mouth, five gill slits, two fins, and no anal fin. an example of this is spiny dogfish.
hexanchiformes(primitive sharks) - six or seven gill slits, one dorsal fin, an anal fin, thorny teeth and most live in deep cold water. an example of this is frilled sharks.
pristiophoriformes(sawsharks) - long snouts similar to saws, five or six gill slits, two dorsal fins, no anal fin, wide pectoral fins, transverse teeth and most of them live in tropical waters. an example of this is longnose sawsharks.
squatiniformes(angel sharks) - flattened bodies, a mouth with dermal flaps in front of a short snout, nasal barbels, eyes and a spiracle on the top of their head and no anal fin. an example of this is angel sharks.

Uncharismatic Fact of the Day
Don’t step on this carpet-- it just might bite back! Carpet sharks are masters of camouflage, spending hours lying on the ocean floor waiting for unsuspecting prey to pass by. These sharks are also known as Wobbegong sharks-- the word Wobbegong is thought to come from the Australian Aboriginal language Dharug and means ‘shaggy beard’ referring to the tassels lining its mouth.

How about a bamboo shark? Was thinking on making an oc of it but I don't wanna it to be inaccurate to Oardivian lore, what would make more sense for Orectolobiformes to do?
Any shark is perfectly acceptable as an Oardivian alt mode :> sharks are the second most common altmode behind marine mammals.
