Talking Niobe with one of my friends and it was noted that Bhaal ruined a perfectly good bard. Look at her! She's got anxiety!
Honestly writing her urge attacks like ocd intrusive thoughts and panic attacks works.

just went to the most craven coronation I hath seen with mine own eyes. the new king (my uncle, of course) drowned himself in sin as if his predecessor my father had not perished a mere two months past. i'd wish my sullied flesh would melt or that the Everlasting had not fixed his canon against self-slaughter. my mother stains herself in his presence. frailty, thy name is woman

Apollo may be a god, but Lester's brain is very human, with some very human security risks.
More doodles from that fic idea where Niobe kidnaps Lester Apollo and brainwashes him into thinking he's her human son, to get some long overdue revenge on Leto.
Niobe's covering her bases. She's not just relying on Circe's magic manipulating Lester's memories, she's stacking those effects with some hypnosis & even some (banned for being dangerous) attachment therapy techniques. Poor Lester's head is gonna be such a mess, it's gonna take more than water from the River Mnemosyne to sort him out.

I didn't even finished reading the plot of Trials of Apollo before my mind went 'another identity for Skull! Awesome!'
He's my little purple dude and I love him
So....
Its one trial? We are going with the Amnesic!Skull trope and throw the poor dude in River Lethe?
Also...
Apollo may be one of the 'nicer' ones, but we can't forget Achilles, or Marsyas, or Coronis or Niobe or Kassandra...
Kawahira is doomed
And LUCE omg! Seer my ass
Iris would be the one responsable for the Dying Will Flames? Rainbow and all? Or Prometheus?

As a teacher, what has been your fave shakespere play to teach your students? What interesting themes do the kids these days pick up on or connect with? Has there been any interesting insights your students have brought that have surprised you?
Thanks for the question! So I haven't taught English since before the pandemic, because I finally found a school that doesn't reserve the history classes for the coaches (this kept happening to me when I moved back to the States, I'm dual certified, so I'd get hired for history and they'd move me to English when they hired a coach. This happened like 3 times), which is great for me, I vastly prefer teaching history. But did teach a lot of English previously and I'd say the answer really depends on the group of kids, their reading level, how much they'd been exposed to previously.
There's a reason high schools usually start off with Romeo and Juliet in the 9th grade. The story is not difficult to follow, most teenagers are familiar with the concept of forbidden romance, and the themes are age appropriate. I've taught King Lear, which is one of my personal favorites, to a group of very advanced and very keen 12th graders (so 17-18 years old), and I think even they were too young and lacking the life experience to really get it (it's kind of unfortunate that by the time King Lear hits hardest, which imo is once your own parents start aging, most of us are not reading Shakespeare anymore. Very few people read it outside of a school setting, nerds on tumblr notwithstanding). So it can be objectively more rewarding to teach a relatively basic play like Romeo and Juliet, than to teach a more advanced play like King Lear, even though I like King Lear better, simply because it's more suited to the age group.
But probably my favorite play to teach is Hamlet, which I've taught in both 11th and 12th grade. Hamlet is a broody young man, he's home from university and his life sucks, his asshole uncle has married his mom, he's pretty sure his dad was murdered, his girlfriend literally kills herself, there's a ghost, and no one is listening to him. It strikes a good balance in that it has some great soliloquys, including the famous "to be or not to be," that you can really dig into, but which don't get too far into the weeds and don't require a whole history lesson to understand. There are allusions, but they're mostly mythology based (like Niobe, all tears, Hyperion to a satyr) which makes them easy for the kids to look up. Importantly, it asks age appropriate existential questions about life and death (what's the point in living when you're miserable, is suffering noble, what if death is not better), stuff that teenagers grapple with. Macbeth is also good to teach because it's quite exciting with all of the murder, betrayal, and of course the witches.
It's been four years since I last taught English so it's hard for me to remember any specific insights from the kids at the moment but I will say that in general, one of my favorite lessons to teach each year in the Shakespeare unit was on the use of language. The kids fucking loved learning iambic pentameter. One of my favorite things to do was write a couple of lines on the board (I usually used two lines from Julius Caesar which were the same lines my own English teacher used to teach us when I was in school Poor man! I know he would not be a wolf/But that he sees the Romans are but sheep) and get them to beat out the meter on their desks. They thought it was so cool that iambic meter has the same rhythm as the human heart, and that it is more or less the natural rhythm of our speech. When we'd read the plays, I'd catch them tapping out the meter to themselves to test it out.
In general, I enjoyed teaching Shakespeare, but it was also a struggle. It's very hard to get kids who, for the most part, do not read for pleasure to read a whole play in early modern English. Mostly their reading consists of short passages as part of standardized testing, and they're very resistant to the very idea of Shakespeare, which they write off as old and boring. As a teacher I had to work very hard to make the text engaging enough to push past that wall and while there are always kids who are just not going to get there, every year I taught Shakespeare I was always pleasantly surprised by how many kids would get fully invested. I guess it's just fun when the kids are actually into the story. The themes are great and all, but Shakespeare wrote these plays to be entertaining and it makes me really happy when the kids are entertained by them.

Can you tell the difference game from mine version or LO/RS ver
Note that I do not own the characters from the Greek Myth, I was doing this for fun.
(Fun fan her design is heavy based on Lady Dimitrescu from Resident Evil Village)
My Niobe
Niobe is the was a daughter of Tantalus and of either Dione and Niobe was the wife of Amphion and the sister of Pelops and Broteas, she is the mother of 14 children (one of them has names, her sons Amphion and Amyclas, and her daughter Meliboea).
Likes: her 14 children, enjoys watching mothers having their families being killed by her children, music, eating mothers’ womb right in front of them, bathing in mother’s blood, and eating.
Dislikes: Leto, Apollo and Artemis (you know what happened), watching mothers being happy round their families and losing her children.
Friends/Allies: her children.
Enemies: Leto (because she sentenced her twins to kill her children) Apollo (because he kills her 7 sons) and Artemis (because she kills her 7 daughters)
Personality: she is a very cold, harsh and a very prideful woman, she would proudly say how amazing her children and she doesn’t really care about everyone, but she is not always like this. She was a scared woman who has been put pressure on by her family to give them a powerful heirs and the most beautiful heiresses, and she needs to be perfect, when she give the most beautiful 14 children, she is now proudly campaigning her children to Leto’s twins. Leto knows that she is using her children for selfish and prideful ways and not in a loving mother. Leto sets her twins to kill all of Niobe’s children to teach her lesson and Leto turns her into stone, but Niobe comes back and she gets revenge on rich mothers to make them suffer just the way she is suffered in the past.
LO Niobe
She is there to be the poor and innocent victim of bad Leto and Apollo.

Ellis Walker, Epictetus in Poetical Paraphrase 49
XLIX.
Avoid, if possible, th' impertinence Of those who prostitute their eloquence: Who with a long harangue from desk or stage Both the rich mobile, and poor engage: For what advantage are you like to gain, By hearing some one a whole hour declaim, While Alexander's justice he commends, For murd'ring all his best and trustiest friends? How are you better'd by a tun'd discourse Of Phalaris's bull, or Sinon's horse? Or a description that's design'd to shew The various colours of the heavenly bow, In a discourse almost as long as it, Which the vile trifling scribbler takes for wit? What wisdom can you learn from Circe's hogs? From Hecuba turn'd bitch, or Seylla's dogs? From weeping Niobe transform'd to stone, Or bloody Tereus feeding on his son? But if in manners you're oblig'd to attend, Because perhaps the author is you friend; Or if that tyrant, custom, bring you there, Be grave, but not morose, nor too severe, Nor play the critic, nor be apt to jeer; Nor by detraction seek inglorious praise; Nor seem to weep, when he your joy would raise; Nor grin, nor swear, when some sad passion tries To draw the brinish humour from your eyes; Nor to the company disturbance cause, By finding fault, or clamorous applause; Be sober and sedate, nor give offence Or to yourself, or to the audience.

O that this too solid flesh would melt,
Thaw, and resolve itself into a dew!
Or that the Everlasting had not fix'd
His canon 'gainst self-slaughter! O God! O God!
How weary, stale, flat, and unprofitable
Seem to me all the uses of this world!
Fie on't! O fie! 'tis an unweeded garden,
That grows to seed; things rank and gross in nature
Possess it merely. That it should come to this!
But two months dead! — nay, not so much, not two:
So excellent a king; that was, to this,
Hyperion to a satyr; so loving to my mother,
That he might not beteem the winds of heaven
Visit her face too roughly. Heaven and earth!
Must I remember? Why, she would hang on him
As if increase of appetite had grown
By what it fed on: and yet, within a month, —
Let me not think on't, — Frailty, thy name is woman! —
A little month; or ere those shoes were old
With which she followed my poor father's body
Like Niobe, all tears; — why she, even she, —
O God! a beast that wants discourse of reason,
Would have mourn'd longer, — married with mine uncle,
My father's brother; but no more like my father
Than I to Hercules: within a month;
Ere yet the salt of most unrighteous tears
Had left the flushing in her galled eyes,
She married: — O, most wicked speed, to post
With such dexterity to incestuous sheets!
It is not, nor it cannot come to good;
But break my heart, — for I must hold my tongue!

Aether Notes, from The Clan of The Stars
~Author(s): Niobe (myself), assisted by my good friend/star sister, Nebula -Page 1-
We have recently assimilated new dragons into our clan, as many have recently. An old Arcane spacecraft crashed down onto Sornieth, turns out that Nebula and I’s lovely star father tossed ALL of a species known as “Aethers” into space. They are paper eaters, and apparently had eaten the only instructions given to him by our father. Which were on paper. Paper that he surely must have known they would eat. Sometimes I wonder if I’m really blessed at all to share power with our deity. (Nebula speaking..er..writing whilst my sister is eating a snack, we are indeed blessed, Niobe is still getting over her whole self-crisis thing she had a year ago. Arcanist, if you are peering down as I scribble this, I apologize for my sister.) I will speak with Nebula later. Anyways, as I was saying, these spacebound dragons have finally returned to our grand home. The current population upon the ship is comprised of dragons who have never even touched the grass beneath their claws before. They’ve also never eaten a properly home-cooked meal like the ones our lovely leader’s family prepares each day. They were dazed and all very nervous as many of us in the Arcane Flight rushed to their aid. I personally was viewing the “shooting star” close up when it suddenly veered into the earth nearby. I requested Amethyst find Sunfire so that we could also provide first aid to any injured in the crash An interesting sight for sure, parents holding their mysterious six-legged fluffballs close to their chests as they were escorted to safe and dry land, young Aethers chittered and shouted excitedly as they pointed and stared at all of the dragons and flora surrounding them. Their very first time seeing Sornieth from a ground-level view. Many clans have offered to take Aether families in until they figure out what they want to do, and as always, Amethyst was happy to help out a poor dragon returning to or joining us here. As she’d done with our Obelisks, our Abberations, and the three newly christened clan members: all Undertides. The Undertides have only recently joined us, so it’s certainly jarring to have yet another new (technically ancient) species joining us. But I have to admit, I’m excited to see what these new friends have in store for us. Welcome to the clan, Skychaser and Starseeker, we are incredibly excited to bring you home.  (Nebula again! SO excited!! They’re so chattery and psyched about literally everything, just like I was!) ... My sister is still chattery and psyched about everything on Sornieth. Even if it isn’t new to her anymore.

I'm playing Path of Neo now and there is nothing funnier than getting to the backdoors hallway and meeting Smith there, smug dramatic entrance and everything, while knowing that like half an hour ago he was already s(k)ulkimg there and complaining to any passers-by (poor Niobe) that he's got everything ready yet his date isn't showing up! >8(
fjdjsksk "Enter the Matrix is canon" may not add much to the franchise overall. but where would we be without Smith's pouty little "damn. not who I was hoping for :/"

So Niobe met Gortash about 5 years after he sold karlach to Satan for a corn chip, they had a year of UST where she couldn't and wouldn't fuck him for his own safety and they finally slept together right after that divine pact protected him from the wrath of Bhaal. Poor Ketheric was all "please try to wait until I leave the room" and didn't enjoy his part in a profane wedding.

A woman who is very polite and well mannered but had a vulgar mouth when she's pissed off with joui 4 please…☺
hi anon, sorry it’s a little bit short but I hope you like it anyway -niob
Gintoki:
he is surprised, but not as much as you might think, he has a foul mouth himself and does not think of holding back when he gets provoked
when you two first get to know each other, he tries not to curse in front of you and is on his best behaviour, but only until you snap for the first time in front of him
no matter how polite and well-mannered you are usually, somehow, he already knew you had it in you and deep down he feels a twisted sense of satisfaction that his hunch was right
he once purposely messed with you to see how far he can go before you snap but he learned quite quickly that it’s not recommendable to piss you off, but thinks it is hilarious if others make this mistake and get cursed at by you
Katsura:
Katsura’s chin drops when you curse in his presence for the first time
he is completely in denial that someone so polite and well behaved like you starts to curse like a sailor out of nowhere and his first assumption is that there is a doppelganger who tries to ruin your reputation
there is just no possibility that you can take those obscene words into your pretty mouth (at least that’s what he thinks)
after coming to the realisation that there is only one of you and you can do both, being polite and curse when it’s appropriate, it destroys the image he had of you
Takasugi:
Takasugi is not very surprised and even if he was, he does not show any reaction to your cursing
he couldn’t care less whether you are being polite or not towards other people
what makes him smirk however are the bamboozled faces of anyone around you who did not expect such harsh words from you
Takasugi would never say or do anything to purposely piss you off but secretly anticipates your next outburst at whoever irritated you
and sometimes when he has a really bad day, he deliberately sends a poor fool your way in hopes they would say or do something stupid in front of your eyes just for a change of pace
Tatsuma:
Tatsuma did not even notice that you behave differently, anyone is able to curse, right?
only when someone points out to him that you usually do not curse, he realises that he indeed has never seen you like this before
he still does not see the problem and finds it even entertaining to watch whenever you rip someone into pieces as long as he is not the one who gets cursed at
even though he tries to avoid getting on your nerves, it lies in his nature to annoy people unintentionally and therefore gets cursed at by you from time to time
