Honestly anon, I am confused about this topic myself. I really want to believe they were having protected sex from day one, especially since even when they started they weren't explosively having sex with each other (Kash and Angie). But with how often they were having sex in random places (and go for a round 2 and possibly round 3), I don't see them always carrying at least 3 condoms in their pockets... and we can see on screen Ian just kinda slips in during early season (under the bleachers for example) so my guess is that canonically they aren't using condoms, or at least not always. /:

BUT, this is my wishful headcanon so they use condoms as long as they fuck other people. Meaning after Ian's metal breakdown, when he starts going to the clinic regularly and they live together (at the Milkovich house or Gallagher house) they both get tested and just go bareback from there. (I know this isn't really canon compliant but fuck it, my babies have safe sex.)

I think it symbolize a level of commitment for them and how comfortable they became with each other (and Mickey with his own sexuality) because this is another level of intimacy and trust.

Also, Mickey is a cumslut and he enjoys it very much (when he isn't busy with his internalized homophobia). And Ian is such a possesive mf that he enjoys seeing his cum on Mickey from the first time they touched, but now seeing it in Mickey? it's so addictive it should be illegal.

thoughts abt gallavich in the recent episode.

miickey mickey mickey... clearly not into byron and is doing this in front of the gallagher house to make ian jealous

the way he opened his eyes at the end sealed it, he was too smug.

ian, to my surprise, wasn't overly jealous or possesive, he knew mickey needed time snd some space

but some of mickey's dialogue was just wack, like the lines about loving byron and 'true love' im cringing

at least by the end of the ep mickey's toned it down, probably bc he's truly not getting much out of this besides a rich place to stay

ian listening to debbie and lip, doing what they tell him is best, is totally ian and its sad

he really... doesn't know himself well so many insecurities, so much doubt in himself and his decisions and place in peoples lives.

Favourite Female: Fiona Gallagher. I was not a fan of the way she was often written in the later seasons but I still love her. And to be fair, I feel that way about most of the Gallaghers lol

Notp: Mandy/Lip. They were both awful for each other. He treated her like shit and used her for sex. And she was overly possesive of him and ran over his ex out of jealously. I also hated pretty much every guy Fiona dated except for Mike lol
