TBH I’m pretty confused about the description, “Tom breaks up with Star and is not prepared for the consequences”. Like there’s been no recent reason as to why Tom and Star would break up, they’ve been THRIVING in the past episodes.

Like this is the last appearance with Tom and Star,

Do they look like a couple who is going to break up soon?

Like they’ve talked about their major issues in Lake House Fever and have actually made progress to better their relationship, and are being a pretty cute couple in public. I don’t see anything currently that would break them up, much less Tom breaking up with Star.

I mean if “Lake House Fever” didn’t happen and they didn’t sort out their main issues then I’d be more inclined to believe that they’d actually break up now, but they have, well, at least put their issues out into the open and have actually made efforts to work on them.

And besides, I’m sure that the episode description is misleading, like with 50% of the other titles.

Starco: Canonicity War

After watching Infinity War, I feel like I gotta say something Dominic Bisignano and Aaron Hammersley, combined are Thanos, the Infinity Gauntlet is a weapon to sink a ship, The Infinity Stones are the ways Starco can be uncanonized and murdered, The Avengers are Starco fans and their fan children, The snap called "The Decimation" is uncanonizing Starco with episodes such as "Bon Bon the Birthday Clown", "Starcrushed", That Silver Bell episode, and "Curse of the Blood Moon", and the half of the Avengers that are decimated are all of the Starco fan children. Yes, I’m still salty, but like I said before, they hate the ship. And their actions shows it. Sorry if I sound salty, but Starco deserves better. They’re the heart and soul of this show and these two are ruining it. #JusticeForStarco

How do you feel about jantom in general?

it’s kinda overrated and i don’t really think it’s the kinda relationship that suits tom at all?

Like i kinda think his character is better suited to being in a relationship with a lot of affection, trust, and especially in his case....someone who puts in the effort for him as much as them.

This has never been something I can ever see coming from janna.

Janna’s not a terrible person, but she’s never canonically been the nicest or most affectionate people on the show. And like i know the show did attempt to make it out like she did care all along by the end of season 4, but at the same time....this is also the girl who tormented marco for quite some time for her own fun.

i feel like if they intended for janna to be this troublesome girl who secretly cares about her friends, they needed more episodes, cause janna doesn’t really have an arc in this show.

She’s mostly comedic relief with a touch of plot relevance when she’s needed, she never felt set up to be this kinda character/much less any kinda love interest.

I’m more picky when shipping janna because i don’t want her partner to be someone whose not going to be happy with someone like her around, marco for obvious reasons, and tom because Tom does not handle relationships that put him down very well and I don’t think Janna ever reached a point where i could see her truly see her become this sympathetic affectionate person who truly cares.

They sorta kinda tried to give an end to an arc that never really felt it existed mostly, it was a lot of janna kinda being janna for most of the show, topped off with an attempt at trying to make her more meaningful and that was about it.

i’m not opposed to trying to make her character like this, the show just didn’t really make me believe any of the sort.

All if not most of her interactions with tom are either fighting or annoyance, and the two don’t really seem to have much in terms of chemistry. Like in the end, they got along to get what they wanted and to make sure the other made it out alive, but the episode wasn’t much pro-jantom. They’re kinda more like those friends who find the other annoying but get along sometimes.

There’s not even enough interactions after that really make it out like they secretly really care about the other, they don’t interact much in general after that or before. 

Like the only reason i love tomco/tomstar/stomco as much as i do is because the show absolutely showed me those relationships could bring out the best in tom’s character, as they were milestones in making him who he was.

If they hadn’t butchered tomstar for no reason, that one could’ve done so much for both tom and star as people, and they started off so well too.

Marco in s2 did so much for tom, and he and tom’s relationship i still think is one of the better written in the show’s because i actually care about it and it feels like it does nothing but good for both parties and provides tom with what he clearly needed.

Stomco, god that would’ve been neat.

But the fandom goes on about how jantom is one of the best relationships in the fandom with all this real chemistry and connection, but like...those two had one episode, that they spent mostly fighting and really not liking each other as tom texted his gf.

And everything else is mostly fanwork.

like, tomstar and tomco are some of tom’s most meaningful relationships, barely anyone wants to talk about those or write for them or do stuff for them. But they do want tom to get together with the character he has the least chemistry or connection with throughout the series.

People can do as they wand, it’s just a little frustrating.

I like a good crackship as much as the next person, like go crackshippers, ya’ll have fun. in this case it’s just a little annoying all of tom’s meaningful relationships are entirely brushed aside for a character he barely talks to.

Sure, janna is a gothy girl and tom’s a demon, but i don’t think that alone makes them an incredible relationship. Tom’s a nerd whose incredibly soft and kind and kinda a loser tbh and the show didn’t really make much of an effort to show me why he and janna would ever function.

Tom’s too nice to enjoy much of her harassment towards marco, his best friend he’d die for, and the idea of janna messing with him the same way marco was messed with...i can’t help but find that incredibly uncomfortable after all the stuff tom was put through. Dude’s already got enough self loathing issues, I don’t find the comics of janna messing with him and invading his privacy charming particularly for that reason.

Tom’s got such meaningful relationships with star and marco, these two made him what he is, and helped him grow, and get through the hard times, and provided him friendship, and showed him people cared about him. (Even if the show tried to butcher that by the end by acting like those friendships meant nothing)

and janna.....wanted him around for mostly selfish reasons with little care about him and they got along alright just to get their stuff back and that’s mostly it.

in a way, it kinda hurts that the relationship the fandom cares about the most....is the one that’s least memorable and least beneficial to tom and his character and it’s treated as the greatest thing out there when it’s just not close.

People can do what they want of course, i can’t like...change anyone’s minds on it, i just wish more people did more with tom and star and marco, and tom’s relationships with them. Because they’re far more interesting and far better for tom in general.

Jantom is popular because people wanted starco, it feeds off starco, the entire reason it got popular was to ride off another popular ship regardless of anything else. It didn’t really earn this much attention because of much else, and it’s fair to assume if starco didn’t make it popular way before s4 no one would care much about it.

and people can do what they want, not trying to crush anyone’s ships or anything.

But at the same time, i think it sucks the relationships with the most meaning and most potential, are the least used and least respected.

anyone these days making tomco, stomco, tomstar, kellco, or jarco stuff has all my respect, because all those relationships were so much more intriguing for the characters involved and i wish more people made stuff exploring them instead because the show was just BEGGING to do more with them.

The show didn’t need jantom, janna didn’t need tom for an arc she didn’t really have and there isn’t much janna could provide tom at all since he’s already way beyond her.

But it could’ve shown more respect to the relationships that tried to have a real impact meaningfully on it’s characters.

Like i’ve seen 50 comics about starco/jantom, it’s been done, it’s been overdone.

I wish more of that attention went to a lot more of the other ships.

Star VS the Forces of Evil Ending - Are they kidding me?

I mean, I'm not really surprised after what we've been through in Season 4... but this is still bizarre

- Star, it's true... me and MHC acted like dumbasses but it's not too late, let's stop Mina together, you did defeat Toffee after all... NO BECAUSE MAGIC IS UGLY DESTROOOY IT MUM

- I'm not even sure where the heck the first evil unicorn and corrupted violet magic came from but... who cares, it's spread and they are all turning evil now, Tom as well

- so apparently it takes 3 magical queens and ghost queens to turn magic into green goo by merely repeating the whispering spell all over again... but Toffee managed on his own and he had no mastery over magic? Anyway, whatever, I was a fool hoping that anything regarding Toffee's achievements will make sense (or remain a pivotal plot point)

- yes, trust Glossy, I'm sure he isn't lying and won't suddenly pop up in the future... his track record is poor but nobody questions him, they don't ask for answers

- so monsters and Mewmans can't live together? Blame magic. Blame MHC. Blame Moon. Blame Mina. Blame Mewni itself. I guess they will do much better on Earth... after all, it's not like there will be more obstacles to face there... and I'm sure Earth military will be glad to welcome inconsiderate flying pony heads or giant monsters wrecking havoc to cities... or giants spiders in need of prey

- magic was trouble so it can no longer protect monsters or Mewmans on Earth. But humans will be privileged anyway and probably racist - they have tech and their world has been just thrown into unknown chaos so how can you blame them...

- OK Moon, so you were worried about Mewni because (maybe) Eclipsa displaced too much Mewmans? How do you enjoy total anarchy on EarthMewni?

- Magical High Commission needs to die because they are just the worst. Look at their bones. So cool. Evil privilaged racist finally dead

- Mina gets a free pass, suprisingly. Makes sense. I'm sure her views will convince many humans... now that the worlds have merged. She might even become a president now that I think of it...

- No Septarsis so... if their kingdom was part of Mewni dimension I guess they're finally on their way to become the true Reptilians running Earth from the shadows? From within chaos comes order and so on...

- Starco! How magical! Neglected Starco development, full switch to official Starco at the last minute and now they finally brought two worlds together with the power of their love! But where is the happy ending if what they created is essentialy chaos far worse than Mewni (with magic and monsters) ever was?

- just... no... words... I guess magic is shit but it's only alright when it serves as a cosmic power to merge Marco and Star's worlds together no matter the cost. FUNNY.

- also they are dumb teens hence it's somehow alright to play around with different ships in S4, even though it's long overdue to resolve the Tomstar situation but... once the Starco switch happens both Star and Marco are totally fine with abondoning their families FOREVER just to stay with their true love in the other world. Eh... sure...

So yeah, just no words. What the crew was even thinking in Season 4? It was just a big shipping drama and anti racist / anti magic /pro monster fest, in black and white colors. But even those themes fall flat in the end and feel like a clusterfuck. Also, forget about intriguing lore, coherent plot, decent pay-offs... those things don't matter anymore so Season 4 is more like an alternate reality with fan service elements and the crew doing whatever they want because it's fun. At least we got to explore Eclipsa's family and they were lovely but that's it. I wasn't really satisfied as Starco fan, I wasn't satisfied as fan of many other characters because I hated what they've done with them, I wasn't satisfied with the final message (what's even the message HERE???) and I got no answers, no interesting lore... just meh. I'm really sad how it turned out, REALLY.

My Thoughts on Kellyco

Now, I won’t be as active as I used to be. CotBM did a real number on me. That and I’m not proud of the way I behaved afterwards. I didn’t watch this weeks episodes of Star Vs and I’m not going to watch next weeks. I really need some time to reflect and work on myself. By the way, did you know that seahorses that they mate for life? Can you imagine shipping a seahorse with another seahorse and knowing it’s going to be canon?

But for now, here are my thoughts on Kellyco (Marco x Kelly) and to be honest:

I don’t have any.

I know it’s weird. I’m the angry starco guy. That’s my gimmick. It’s who I’ve become. I should be ranting and raving and swearing and being all like “Fuck you, Kelly. You bitch. You betray me.” But honestly? I’m more...meh.

It’s not that I don’t care about starco anymore. That’s not it. My problem is that I care too much and need a healthier way to deal with this. It’s just that Kelly leaves such little impression on me as a character that I just don’t care what she does. At all. To me, she’s just a placeholder. She barely is a character. With TomStar, I get mad as hell. My blood boils in rage and fury. I fucking hate TomStar. But with Kellyco, it’s kinda like a boring pro wrestling match. I don’t really care and I’m just waiting for it to be over. It’s weird to see people angrier than me about this. They’ve been building this up since Lava Lake Beach and I’m just as bored with it then as I am now. I’m just staring at the time, waiting for it to end. Just a waste of time. Just giving Marco something to do. It’s padding.

I’m starting to think season 4 isn’t very good.

Tom is constantly looking for validation. He asked Star multiple times of what he’s done is something Marco would’ve done/if he did a better job than Marco. Even in Butterfly Follies Tom called Marco to make sure Star didn’t say he was stupid, yeah it was funny but it showed he was insecure about her feelings towards him. He’s unhappy in the relationship too. He just wanted Star so he could feel like he won her back but their relationship fizzled out a long time ago.

Being insecure is not a “bad” thing per se: it’s a flaw, obviously, but it’s not something that’d spell the doom for their relationship on its own. The real issue is that Tom has always been seeing (at least since Blood Moon Ball) his relationship with Star first and foremost as a source of validation, and his role as a “boyfriend” as the only possible kind of interaction he can have with her, and an extremely idea of who a boyfriend is at that. We have seen this in Is Another Mystery: Tom insists to go with Star looking for Buff Frog, but he’s not doing that to spend time with her, and even less to genuinely help her (until the end of the episode, that is), but because he thinks that spending time with his girl is a boyfriend’s job --> if he does that he’s a good boyfriend ---> if he’s a good boyfriend he’s a good person. He’s missing a lot of passages in between, he’s not thinking that in this case “spending time with Star” meant “helping and supporting her practically and emotionally in something important to her” (again, at the end of the episode he DID finally do that). Same thing happened in Monster Bash.

It wasn’t even about wanting Star back as a trophy, he wanted her back because she was his only proper source of validation. And that’s very unhealthy. 

Luckily in the S3 finale he got a first taste of what helping your friends for the sake of it feels like, and was happier than ever despite having been sucked and punched half to death all day.

But what do I know, maybe I’m just biased against Tomstar and pro Starco.

Every ship has their episode. Starco with “Blood Moon Ball”, Jarco with “Bon Bon the Birthday Clown”, Ostar with “Cheer Up, Star”, Tomstar with “Club Snubbed”, Tomco with “Friendenemies”, Janstar with “Girl’s Day Out”, Marcapoo with “Running with Scissors” and Kellco with “Kelly’s World”, but we’re missing a ship here, a ship that needs a proper episode to sail on, the right kind of plot to steer and with a good plot to enjoy the ride, that ship is Jantom! Finally! An episode worthy of debunking the trope for “Ships That Pass In The Night” (pulls the boat horn) All aboard!:

*Junkin’ Janna-PrinceThomas Lucitor, the demon boyfriend of Star and heir to the throne of the Underworld is hanging out for the first time in forever with Janna Ordonia, the nightmare fetishist and amateur hypnotist of Echo Creek! The reason being that Star is out on an important meeting with Eclipsa with the MHC and Janna has asked Tom to hang out. Just the two of ‘em, no Star, no Marco, no Pony Head, no Kelly, no nothing! Just Jantom! Sweet!

Minus tagging along on adventures with Star, Marco and the gang, Janna has been “boot sledding” in a giant suit of armor boot in a junkyard while she’s been on Mewni. Janna could’ve called over Marco, or Kelly or even Pony Head to join her, but she chose Tom, why? You’ll know soon enough. Meanwhile, Star and Eclipsa are waiting impatiently for the MHC to arrive so they can have the meeting already. Uh, it’s an emergency! So why the f*** aren’t they there!? Are they being passive-aggressive with them!? They continue to wait while trying not to food poison themselves from Sean’s donuts (after what happened in “Yada Yada Berries”, I could see why Eclipsa would be wary of eating things from others).

Over to Jantom again, Tom was enjoying himself (after getting off his compact to text with Star. Thank you Janna!), but then a crow starts flying over, wait a crow!? Uh oh! Except for Janna, it’s a pest cuz it keeps stealing her boot (and possibly other parts of the giant suit of armor she must’ve used before) and wants Tom to shot it. You know, I’m sure Janna could’ve taken care of that bird herself by makeshifting a sling shot to throw a rock at it or using her hypnosis to put it to sleep, but nooooooooooooooooooo she wanted Tom to use his demon powers to shoot it instead! He refuses as it’s just a harmless bird and is disappointed that it’s the only reason she called him to hang out (besides, he went through character development). “We all have a purpose, Tom”. Well what’s your purpose Janna? Huh!? Did Daron read my reviews and pointed that out to me on why I kept saying what’s Janna’s purpose? 🤔.

Janna gets upset with Tom over it and throws his compact in the boot when he tries to rat her out to Star. The crow takes the boot, wow! Strange crow! Is this how Mewman crows are? But Janna won’t let him have (and Tom won’t “let him have it” either) and clings onto the boot as he flies away with it. The crow then drops the boot and Janna, but Tom swoops in and Superman rescues her. Okay, yeah, that’s a little Jantom tease for the fans, I get it, I get it. There was no moment as Janna points out their prioritizes for the getting their stuff and so they follow the bird. Back with Star, the MHC finally get their a**es in and Star gets into a fight with Rhombulus when he tells her to put away her compact which she refuses (what happened to their friendship back in “Crystal Clear”? Oh wait! I remember now, “Swim Suit” happened (hisses through grind teeth)). They tell Eclipsa that there’s a dark magic force in the Monster Temple they’re sensing and they automatically assume it’s her doing it and want her to stop...............that’s it!? That’s what the “emergency” meeting was for!? Pointing out the obvious! HELLO! Mewni to MHC! Eclipsa always uses dark magic. What’s next!? There’s a hybrid in the house!? Oh wait, THAT’S METEORA! Ugh! How aggravating! Glossaryck, just fire them already, will ya!

Jantom follow the crow to the ruins of Butterfly Castle where again Janna tries to get Tom to just shoot the damn bird already, but he still refuses, so Janna just goes to get the job done herself, but the crow suddenly turns into a huge hammer beaked fiend! Hold up! That crow is magic!? WTF!? This freaks out even Janna! Tom swoops in again and sacrifices his compact and saves Janna (awesome moment there). He finally shoots the f***ing bird, but it only leaves a scar on its eye, so they just do what’s logical.RUN! In the end, Star was glad Tom actually now “has a life”. I knew damn well that was Mina’s crow now she’s up to something and I think that’ll be in “Cornonation” too. Don! Don! Don!

No sparks between the two in this ep, but at least they still worked together and had some fun. I think I now know what Janna’s purpose is now...............................she’s there to make Starco happen! Think about it! In “Out of Business” she made a second “Baby Marco with wheels for hands” for her, in “Curse of the Blood Moon”, she had used hypnosis to get Marco to stop eating nachos to have a fit body for Star and now she’s trying to get Tom to realize he can be happy without Star! Honestly, I read a fan mention it and I think it’s subtly said. Janna seems “Anti-Tomstar” from what I saw, but that’s either cuz Tom wasn’t listening to her on the whole “No Star” rule or she’s not big on fluffy romance. She kept telling Tom to get a life! And she’s right! He needs to get a life! Ever since we first saw him in the show, he’s main character trait was “Get Star back!” and when he got her back, he was “Star minded”! Guy has no other priorities, but Star this and Star that, Star, STAR, STAR! F***ING ENOUGH ALREADY! I’m not saying Tomstar should end (even if it might be foreshadowed), I’m just so glad Janna’s the only one with balls in the show to slap some sense in Tom! (maybe even physically do it too please) I actually like her more now cuz of that! Okay, maybe I’m being too harsh, I mean, Tom said he doesn’t have any friends from “Friendenemies” and cuz he had anger issues, but now that he has some friends like Marco and Janna and learned to control his demons, it still isn’t enough for him to get him to shut up about Star :P. And I guess he did do some things without Star before like get rid of his anger issues (“Demoncism”) and playing video games (“Naysayer”), but it just didn’t seem like it was enough, you know? Janna’s doin’ just fine on her own and doesn’t rely on someone to seek validation and Tom needs to learn that! She’s got friends in Jackie, Marco, Star and she has tons of hobbies so she’ll never be bored. She don’t need no significant other and if she does, least she has life! With the MCH, I don’t know how deep they have those poles up their a**es, but they need to start showing their new queen some respect and not wasting her time with nonsense with the obvious and going through a meeting to explain that. I’m sure it was probably cuz of what happened in “Swim Suit” with Rhombulus and that Eclipsa’s Pro-Monster. For the unknown dark magic force, they said the dark magic wasn’t from Glossaryck or Star, Eclipsa and Meteora, but they still assume they’re aware and behind it. Is it Mina? But she’s in Butterfly Castle! Speak of the devil, I’m tots positive she’ll be in the “Cornonation” ep cuz like I said in the last review, it’s half hour, so we’ll get plenty of action shots from her in her giant knight armor trying to annihilate Eclipsa. Wonder how she’ll be defeated? Mina I mean, not Eclipsa! Lol! Will she be redeemed? Killed off? Taken that steroid spell off her? Who knows?

Do you have any kind of guilty pleasure when it comes to the show/fandom?

I barely believe in the concept of guilt or shame with regards to what you enjoy.  If something makes you happy, feeling bad about that just seems unhappy and unhealthy. Yes, there’s exceptions, both in terms of content (if something was ethically or legally troublesome, or if it harms other people) and practice (standards of appropriate conduct in the world, e.g. I’d feel shameful/guilty if I put on a Star Butterfly wig at a professional academic event) but overall if you’re seriously made to feel bad about what you like by friends or family, that’s their problem not yours.

The closest thing I have to a guilty pleasure in the fandom is the thoroughness of my filtering/blocking system. I definitely derive a sense of glee from filtering every single tag related to other ships or fankids and blocking every account that posts anti-Starco or pro-Tomstar/Kellco/whatever content or opinions in the Starco tag or even just people who post content that annoys me. I have probably 230 tags filtered on Tumblr + a few dozen accounts blocked, 400+ accounts blocked on IG, and a handful of accounts blocked on DA. And if someone I don’t want to block (because they make Starco art) posts something else in the tags, I have my adblocker completely remove the thumbnail for the post. Once upon a time I might have been less trigger-happy with it and kept some form of openness for the sake of dialogue with those with differences of opinion, but at this point I’m completely over it. I want to see Starco, and I don’t want to see anything not Starco, and if you’re in my way of doing that then you shall be removed from my line of sight.

Let's pro/con this week's episodes of SVTFOE. Pro: Jarco has officially broken up and sank, so we're close to getting Starco. Con: It looks like TomStar is a new problem so that's a thing. Man, just when it looks like Starco fans win, we still lose in some way.

Hm I still think Starco will win the day in the end but yeah this does complicate things...

Well startom is dead or at least in coma, and starco is on the way being building in a much better way than before, any thougths?

the thing is, tom and star both love each other and want to be together, but Star has some personal issues she needs to work out.

Star’s not ready to move onto the next chapter of her life, she keeps holding herself back and making excuses for her to not go forward,  and instead of going forward in her life, what does she do?

She goes right back to earth.

Tom is ready to move forward, but Star is scared to because she’s unsure of what she even wants now that she’s free.

She can do anything in the world that she wants now, and it’s overwhelming, now she doesn’t know what do to with herself and she feels safer doing what she knows then doing what she needs to do.

Star can’t stay in the same place forever, she needs to figure herself out and she needs to move forward.

It’s not fair to Tom for her to hold back their relationship and it clearly breaks his heart she’s not sure about going on this trip with him, to move forward with him.

This doesn’t mean the end of tomstar, regardless of next week’s episodes. As Star could patch things up with him later on, because she needs to.

(And if you go with the swap theory, tom being on a break is a good excuse to kidnapp him without the characters suspecting a thing)

and things will most likely work out between them anyway.

But Star NEEDS to get her life together if she wants to be with Tom, and not force him down because of her own personal issues.

I mean i did say this before, but i expected the show to throw a conflict in between star and tom for the finale to deal with.

if they have a strong enough relationship, then they can make it through and still end up endgame, but that relies on star.

this episode doesn’t dismiss that being possible, like i said before….this season has been…oddly pro tomstar focused? Tom and Star’s relationship is kinda been dealt with in a ton of episodes to the point they kinda get more focus…then star and marco kinda have?

Yeah, Beach Day? The episode all the starco fans dreamed of getting? It actually has very little to do with starco itself. It had more to do with Star and her obsession with the photo, and that she relied so much on it to give her hope…and now that hope is wiped away and now she can’t rely on it to help her feel better about the future.

Tbh, the closest these eps got to starco was….Jackie telling marco not to ruin his relationship with Star because she’s a special person. And a few gags about marco being mariposa’s dad and star’s baby (Though that’s really only said by Ferguson), there was also a lady who thought they were a couple but Star tells her they aren’t and waves it off.

Yeah, the show really doesn’t talk about star and marco much as a couple. They’ve had some lines and hints that could be going for it, but the characters themselves don’t really care or react to it.

We don’t really see marco and star legit start having feelings for each other, they’re kinda doing what they normally do and the show hasn’t really focused about them dating.

I mean, the problem here is, we know the rest of the episodes are a BFM style arc, if we’re supposed to believe Tom’s break up with Star next week IS real, the  then canon starco would have to literally happens hours or days after star just got out of a serious relationship….

and that doesn’t sound right.

It doesn’t sound healthy for Star, and it it kinda seems mean to do to Tom to literally have his girlfriend date his best friend….right after he broke up with her.

yeah that….that’s kinda a problem.

The show’s weird but if it’s going for realistic and wants to respect these characters, Star should not be jumping from boy to boy.

Yeah, it’s just, Star and Marco are not really “Being built up”, because the show doesn’t focus on them having any new feelings for each other, most of the “Build up” seems to be one off lines by other characters, not really star or marco themselves.

The episodes just don’t really focus on the idea of them being together, so yeah they kinda don’t have much build up in that department. When they removed the curse, they did remove all their previous build up, because star and marco don’t really show much of it anymore and the show itself makes little effort to prove to us they are building them up?

I dunno, build up is one thing, characters making jokes or remarks about them is another.

Tomstar has oddly way more build up for an endgame, while star and marco kinda still seem to be in the friendzone….and don’t really seem to mind it at all since they don’t really think or talk about the idea of them being anything more.

That’s the thing i mentioned in the early parts of this post.

Tomstar is star moving on with her life, and when she tried to cop out of it…..she went back to marco.

Star has some things to figure out, but if she cares about Tom as much as she shows she does, she needs to be honest with him and she needs to sort her life out and stop hiding from the next chapter of her life by forcing herself back into a previous one.

Shipping Starco? Cool. Janco? Tomco? Jarco? JanTom? Janstar? Tomstar? Whatever the name for Star and Jackie is ‘cause I haven’t the foggiest idea? Cool. They all have their cute elements, their pros and cons, their ‘OK, yeah, I can see that happening’ or ‘WTF are we even talking about the same characters’ scenarios. I particularly don’t give a single flying fuck about shipping at the moment and it’s part because I think there’s more important things that the show needs to talk about and part because I have long since grown weary of the shipping wars, but...you know. Shipping’s cool. Ship away.

Drawing porn with characters depicted as kids? Not cool. If I’m realistic, I know people are still gonna do it ‘cause creeps are an unavoidable faction of the internet users but it doesn’t make it any less gross. I’m not even gonna go into the arguments defending said images ‘cause...I’ll make myself sick. Just. No. I live in a country where girls are getting pregnant at fourteen and, you know, at one point one just has to ponder whether this attitude with pushing sex onto children like it’s the only way in which two people attracted to each other can bond is related to it. ‘The proof of love’ is a common way for people to refer to sex here, for Pete’s sakes. Because, you know, nothing says I love you like stripping down your relationship with another person to a question of whether you can give them sexual pleasure or not. If it’s toxic for adults, imagine for children. At fourteen you can barely find your own ass with both hands, much less be ready for sex. If this were a Law and Order episode, Benson and Stabler would kick your freaking ass.

((I honestly find very funny how anything even vaguely non-straight in media is, by default, percieved as inherently sexual and bad  but this kind of thing is often portrayed as romantic...and in this case in particular, ALWAYS portrayed as romantic))
