i think that would be the best tv series i've ever seen!!

hey!! thanks so much for your enthusiasm, I also think it would make a great TV show! the short answer is that there are no concrete plans for this, but if you're interested in more specifics, read on!

so, there's a few things at play here - the first is that with the current strikes, I can't work in TV in any capacity! so everything else I say here is for some hypothetical future when all the big companies finally agree to pay people fairly! here's hoping that future isn't far off.

the other big piece is that it is very, very hard to sell something into TV, especially for someone like me who has no TV experience. there are people on here who are much smarter and more experienced about this kind of stuff than I am, but unless you're a very big deal, you can't just approach a network or streamer (like netflix) with a TV project. typically, you need a production company or a studio first, who "option" your idea, which means signing a contract with that studio that says you'll develop the idea with them and them alone for a specific amount of time. then you build a pitch, maybe attach talent (showrunner, director, lead actor, depending on what you're coming in with) and then you go out and pitch to the networks/streamers. and then, if you're lucky, it gets purchased and then, if you're really lucky, it actually goes past the development stage and gets made.

The Bright Sessions has been optioned a few times already actually, and has been pitched to all of the major networks and streamers (the last time was 2021). no one bought it! once something has been taken out to that extent, it can be hard to take it out again, but never say never! I would still love to see it someday.

#i think several other reasons the breaks in between tour dates and albums feel dry include #constant fandom policing to the point where people avoid interesting discussions out of fear their words will be twisted #people ignoring newer content creators' work which discourages them from sharing their creations #nitpicking the content we DO end up receiving and/or begging for the next 17 things instead of appreciating it #people prioritizing stan wars instead of enjoying the music and community #and along the same vein fans acting pretentious as if they're too cool to be here 🍅#and of course people spoiling everything for the others (misbehavior at sessions or people ruining midnights mayhem with me)#fandom is what you put into it i guess so the only way to make these breaks more bearable is to turn things around #btw i don't think there's anything inherently wrong with taylor taking breaks at the end of the day she is a human with her own life #i do expect more promo in april (i actually think there hasn't been much because A) rest and B) let other artists have their moments)#but i also understand people missing her and missing the liveliness this place has when stuff IS happening

i was gonna write a longer diatribe about capcom's imposed limitations on their female characters for the sake of player eye candy but really what i wanted to say is that i'd love to write more of ada living on the opposite ends of the suave femme fatale persona she projects on assignments that have her more in control . days off or off-days where she is a little more disheveled, a little bit high, carrying on her life of crime shedding the mask but retaining camouflage as the spite & cynicism that underline her professional detachment bear teeth . mostly because this comic's imagery (x) is exactly what i picture in my mind for the darker sides of ada's existence, lower stakes, lower paying jobs for people who could never grasp in their hand the fate of the world, a no less draining release from the times she was forced to decide between her survival & death on a scale she cannot comprehend . also i'm a sucker for crime thrillers, give me more .
