omg I love alpha!! I don't speak a word of Kazakh tho :') can u recommend some other Kazakh music?

Alpha are the best, all their music is pop bangers, i need to check if they are going on a tour in between our country's cities yet 😩 would be cool to have my first ever visited concert be theirs. they have english subtitles on their title tracks in music videos in case you don't speak kazakh, but i bet you knew that jkhkgkh

yeah i'm very happy to share my favourites, i don't know that much besides Alpha's stuff tho!! usually i find a couple songs from random artists that make me Feel Things and then listen to them for several years. last time i searched for qpop was last summer, and i back then my favs were Ice Blue - Beat, ZAQ - Bar E and ZAQ - Nukteler!!

Statement from a lawyer regarding the Madmen drug case

Background: In April of 2021, Khai, Moora, Aron, and others connected to MM Entertainment, namely their producer Ruslan, were arrested for allegedly producing and selling illegal narcotics. Aron was released shortly after, not having been involved in any crimes. Madi, Mark, Rem, Young, all current members of IMZ1/Crystals, members of Black Jack, and well known MM dancers/choreographers were never connected to the case.

In April of 2022, 7 individuals involved in this case were found guilty by a court, and sentenced to terms ranging from 15-18 years (which have not yet taken effect). Moora and Ruslan were in this group. Khai was given 4 years on a separate charge of using illegal drugs, but not producing or distributing them (more on that here). He admitted his guilt and will serve his sentence. 

Recently, Moora’s sister Kamila shared on her instagram (kamila_ibraim) a statement from a lawyer regarding the case, a translation of which is posted below.

This lawyer believes that the individuals were unjustly charged, and there was insufficient evidence to justify the charges. He accuses the police of using illegal methods to obtain information and manufacture confessions, and accuses the court of violating the constitutional rights of the individuals charged. An appeal hearing will happen soon.

Will you review other Qpop songs besides 91? I like your reviews and it would be amazing to see what you think of other ones. Of course if you have time!

I would like to start doing that again. Last year when I was blogging more regularly I did do a couple writeups of songs-- on EQ's "Darumen" and Moonlight's "Mama uryspanyz," and here's me trying to wrap my arms around Kyle Ruh's discography. (He has probably released another half-dozen songs or so since I wrote it.)

It is partly an issue of time and partly one of motivation; I've been less motivated to blog in the last year or so. If I do post reviews they'll probably be here, and shorter reactions.

If you're hungry for reviews in the meantime, check out 10/10 Music, as they get to things I miss--they've reviewed Dimash singles in the past, for example.

I found qpop from some kpop reaction channels back in 2017. Before finding qpop, I didnt know where Kazakhstan was 😭 its a very big country. And I love their language, its so pretty! I'm glad you like qpop too 🥺

I kinda want to make a social media acc based on qpop, but I dont know what I would post 😅 all I know is that this genre deserves more attention.
