DUDE!
DUDE!
Raavan rode the PUSHPAK VIMAN! It was a CHARIOT, it FLEW, it looked LOVELY and ELEGANT! You think the King of Lanka, the kingdom described as being rich and prosperous, would be caught dead riding this ugly ass beast??? If you showed me this picture without any context, I would think it was straight out of some sasta copy of Game of Thrones.
YOU DON'T HAVE TO MAKE ANTAGONISTS AND EVERYTHING ASSOCIATED WITH THEM DARK AND UGLY TO SHOW HOW EVIL THEY ARE!!!

Since adipurush made everyone talk about Ramayan; here's a rant of my own.
WHY do we scorn Vibhishan? Ghar ka bhedi, step brother, traitor, what haven't we called the man who found dharma and hence Narayan Avtaar Shri Ram? The man listened when no one else did, he realised what and who was right, if he already hadn't. Vibhishan's tale is what happens in Kaliyug, a person on the wrong path by association and ignorance corrects his path by finding God. Why is he scorned for choosing a side that is morally correct? And even if you want to say he's half asur or whatever and he has no morals, or maybe you say that he only grew a moral compass when he was about to die, but what of it? If you were fighting a war that you did not cause and you knew was unjust, why would you fight for the losing side? Being logical may or may not be selfish but it is completely understandable. Vibhishan was a man that helped win the war marginally. He helped kill his brother, his anguish is unparalleled, but remembering a man of honour and righteousness as a traitor, aren't we doing injustice to a man that was a fellow devotee? That went against his dharm as a brother to obey is dharm as a being?

RATING NANDAMURI TARAKA RAMA RAO JR’S MANSPREADS ON A SCALE OF 1 - 10
Jai is back with yet more manspread excellence, because he is incapable of anything less! Literally all the essentials are here! The aggressive stare-down, the fist PLUNGING into his own thigh, bracing the weight of his CONTEMPT, the tantalizing glimpse at the crotch seam of his very, very stressed jeans, the KILOMETERS of distance between his knees, the gaudy accessories, the glaring presence of just the absolute biggest fuckoff cock energy!!! YES!!!!! Once again, Jai reigns supreme!
We need to talk about Jai’s numerous THRONES. Raavan is more than a king, he’s the immortal god emperor of Lanka, and he pathologically NEEDS to demonstrate that in the gayest, most theatrical, over the top, campy, ballsed-out way 25 hours a day, 8 days a week. He cannot be contained!!!!! This throne is a work of art unto itself! The filigree, the ornamentation, the rich velvet, the obscene BREADTH! To have a throne like this and to just fuckin straddle it like that is the very PICTURE of manspread excellence!
A couple final words of praise: the arm seams on his kurta are AT DEATH’S DOOR, my god I’ve never seen such stress on a garment!!! And the little thumb-out variation of the fist plant is so unexpected, but I’m tickled pink! I think it adds marvelous flavor and intrigue!
FINAL VERDICT: 10/10

Kalingattuparani
A parani is particular kind of Tamil literary composition which eulogises a warrior who has killed a thousand male elephants on the battle - field. A curious thing about this genre is that it is named after the vanquished foe.
Kalingattuparani is the most famous of all paranis. Composed by Jayamkondar, the poet laureate of Kulottunga Chola, it depicts the Chola invasion of Kalinga. It celebrates the triumph of  Karunakara Tondaiman, the lord of Vandaiyar, a general of Kulottunga. Karunakara Tondaiman defeated the Kalinga king Anantavarman and planted a pillar of victory in Kalinga. However, we should remember that these are literary works produced under the patronage of rulers to appease them.
I would like to present a short extract from this great work used in the 2010 film Raavanan:
youtube
Let us begin the war Let us begin the war Soldiers on both camps shouted War cries reverberated like the roar of the ocean! Charge the cavalry here! Send the elephant division there! These war cries went on increasing!
They stringed their strong bows Rending all the directions by their noise! In the battle-field War cries struck the world dumb!
Both the armies dashed against each other Like the confrontation of two oceans; The charging of the cavalries Like the confrontation of foaming waves!
Warring elephants dashed against each other Like the clash of the mountains! Chariots charged against each other Like the clash of the clouds!
This is from Tamil Nadu

Why did Sita go with Ravana instead of escaping from him if she is so powerful?
Because the real Sita was with Agni and the Sita abducted by Ravana was her shadow Vedavati
However this Vedavati could also kill Ravana
Vedavati at once uttered a powerful Sanskrit mantra which momentarily checked the demon’s advance.
The reason Vedavati didn't kill Ravana was because that would make the purpose for Rama's Incarnation completely useless. Rama's Incarnation was taken for slaying all the demons . If Vedavati killed Ravana then Rama couldn't have killed all the demons ( because Rama would never attack the Rakshasas till they did some harm to him like abducting Chaya Sita ). This would also decrease Rama's glories .
There were more things connected here
If Vedavati wasn't abducted Rama would have returned to Ayodhya after completing his exile which would result in —
The world wouldn't be free of the atrocities of the demons
Shabri would never meet Rama
Kabandha would not get liberation
Sugriva would not get his kingdom and wife back
Lord Hanuman would never see his Lord
Vibhisana would never meet Rama and would have to stay between those cruel demons forever
