I call this book rating rule the tamsyn muir metric by which I mean that if you like most of a writer's work so much it breaks your scale for liking things but then you read something by them and it was simply a pleasant time, it's unfair to judge it by the level of love you have for the other stories

10 books to know you better, tagged by @tharkuun , thank you!!! <3
So I tried to pick not just faves, but actually some that feel like they'd tell you shit about me which.. yikes. Anyway. In no particular order and with many tears over having been made to choose:
Terry Pratchett - Mort It's kind of painful having to choose one (1) Pratchett book but Mort was the first one that really grabbed me, and I'm also just. Incredibly fond of personifications (in the loosest sense) of Death, so this one it is.
Richard Siken - Crush Yeah yeah, every gay tumblr user, but Siken's control over language is simply insane to me and his poetry makes me want to skip town in the middle of the night, develop some fancy drug addiction, and write until all the words are gone from my brain.
Virginia Woolf - Orlando I'm a classics bitch at heart and I love reading classics and all, but Orlando just. Idk. Did something to me, hard to explain in two sentences, but I think it actually makes up like, 10% of my soul so. yeah
C. S. Pacat - Captive Prince I'm counting a series as one sue me. I do love these books for themselves but I've also read them at a time where they just.. hit the right spot in terms of influence on my writing, I guess? You can definitely see it in a lotttt of my stuff if you know what to look for - not so much explicitly, but in the worldbuilding and the abstract stylistics it's absolutely there.
Madeline Miller - Circe * Insert Jo March gif * I just think that women. I also just think that Madeline Miller's writing and yeah, tsoa is great and all, but in my humble opinion Circe is better.
Jane Austen - Persuasion I love all of Austen's work but I think Persuasion is like, at least 50% responsible for me going absolutely feral over the breaking up & making up trope, as well as my pickiness over it (make them work for the reconciliation I want them and myself to suffer), so. I just love this book. So much.
Markus Zusak - The Book Thief I'm generally a fan of historical fiction but I don't think anything has ever touched me as much as this one. See personifications of Death... uh yeah. 100/10 can recommend.
Albert Camus - The Rebel Okay yeah it feels pretentious as all fuck to put like, non-fiction that isn't even poetry on here but then I'm a non-fiction bitch so what can you do. I love Camus, and I read The Rebel at a really formative time of my life and it's like, 75% responsible for me starting to study philosophy. Which, I mean, it didn't really work out but that's really less about philosophy and more about the people who usually study it so. Anyway. I think a massive amount of how I view both life and activism is greatly influenced by Camus and The Rebel specifically so yeah I'm that kind of pretentious bitch <3
Maggie Stiefvater - The Raven Cycle I just think that found family and platonic love <3 Also Stief's prose!!!
Ocean Vuong - Night Sky with Exit Wounds Only read this recently but I'm still reeling from it; best poetry I've read since Crush, and I read a lot of poetry. It just scraped my soul out of my chest with a blunt knife and threw it to the wolves to be chewed on before slamming it back into my body or something. Jesus christ.
I have no idea who's done this already but no-pressure tag: @emryses @schweetheart @ghostboyjules @softest-punk @clotpole @coffee-writes @atlantablack-chaotic @wynnefic and anyone else who'd like to, just say I tagged you! <3

Hello!
Your Top 5 favourite books ? Could be something that you've reread again & again or something so great that you read it once and would not go back to because it was so tragic etc?
Ahhh anon, I was actually already separately drafting a different list of books wot i like just because I feel I've been doing a lot of book hateratin' in my tags lately, so thank you for this!
In no particular order...
Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel: I think everyone's read this because it's a bestseller, but it really is that good. It snuck up on me when I first read it. I didn't really process how much I loved it until it was like months after I finished it and I was still thinking about it. I love the themes of how art and humanity go hand in hand, and how the human nature to create will persist. It's a really lovely message from, and one that feels more realistic to the real world than the general trends in post-apocalyptic stuff (which I tend to read a lot). I re-read this during lockdown season 1 because, given the uncomfortable similarities between this book and the early pandemic, I really wanted to connect with that message again. The TV adaptation is also incredible in its own right too.
Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier: I read this for the first time like last year and whether you know the story or not I cannot over-emphasise how much fun it is to read. The absolute adrenaline rush and second-hand embarrassment when Mrs de Winter gets ready for the costume party, and you know it's not gonna go well. Riveting! Horrible! No spoilers but when the reveal finally happened I felt like I'd just done a hit of cocaine. I've made a web-weaving post about this before, but elements of it reminded me so much of Phantom Thread. They're like the inverse of each other. Genuinely such a fun read.
Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck: The only book I read in school that I actually liked. I remember I started reading the homework chapters on the train home from school one day and was so absorbed I kept reading it as I walked home like Belle in Beauty and the Beast, and then I kept reading it when I got home and didn't even eat lunch I was so enraptured, and then my mam came home and found me sobbing at the kitchen table because I'd just finished it, and she was panicking like "what happened?" and I'm like "Lennie just wanted to pet some rabbit 😭😭😭"
The Book Thief by Markus Zusak: My childhood favourite. This book is sooooo beautiful. Really brutal, but I'm really glad I read this as a kid, because I think, while adults can still appreciate it, childhood is when this one really hits. Absolutely gorgeous writing. The POV coming from Death Personified is still absolutely genius to me. Another one that I binged (at a sleepover at my childhood best friends house) only to be caught sobbing at the end.
Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn: My fave of Flynn's that I've read. Gone Girl is fun but this one is just visceral. The sense of suspense and discomfort in every word of this is so palpable. Thee literal definition of a thriller. There were parts that genuinely made me flinch, but I simply could not look away.
Honorary mentions:
I always really love everything Jon Ronson writes, though idk if I'd ever call any of them my favourites. I think he has a really amazing way of getting horrific people to say the quiet part out loud, and not even realise they're doing it. His books are always so funny. Them and So You've Been Publicly Shamed are my faves among his work. His podcast series called The Last Days of August is also really good.
I'd be remiss if I didn't mention them raven cycle books because Adam Parrish is my son. I raised him. Not my favourite books except for all the ways in which they are.
Territory of Light by Yuko Tsushima: I don't know if I'd call this a favourite either, but I always recommend it to people because it's short and easy, and I don't think many people have heard of it. I picked it up on a whim when I was in a reading slump, and I just loved the way the atmosphere is built up. It also plays around with how love and resentment can coexist within a relationship, which is a theme I personally love dearly.

"You're just saying that"
ANOTHER LAWBIN DUMP BECAUSE I SHIP THEM LIKE A MAD WOMAN ITS INSANE! here is just Law being a simp for our fave straw hat archeologist, Nico Robin <3
Tumblr media
“You’re beautiful”
“You’re just saying that”
“No Im not”
Law crawled towards Robin who was fully naked and tangled in between the sheets and smiled at her. He had a goddess on his bed and today was the last day she was going to be on his ship before she had to return to the strawhats. His head bowed and his lips connected to her long slender soft legs, he peppered kisses in a straight line and went towards her thick thighs. “You’re going back to your ship tomorrow Robin-ya” he muttered in between kisses. Robin had her head thrown back against the soft pillows with a contented sigh “Yes i do”
When it comes to pleasure build-up, there was no one better than Trafalgar Law, he made her horny beyond words and he could go for hours and hours just making sure that she was satisfied and pleasured magically. Since he was a doctor, on god he knew where all the good spots were and fuck did he rub, kiss, touch and reach all these area well. All her weak spots were mentally printed in his brain and he touched her so well because he knew her body like the back of his hand.
Law didn’t just wanted to please the historian but he worshipped the fuck out of Robin’s body. She was the definition of beauty and his ideal woman. Her hourglass figure, her large bust, her porcelain skin, her long luscious raven hair, her waist that was meant for his hands, her scent when she was turned on...oh how fucking addictive she was. He could go down on her for hours craving for more and more even when the historian was sore but no he could never get enough of her. “You make me so hard Robin-ya, you look so fucking absolutely mouth watering.” he grunt out licking her soft thick thighs in long strokes. His hands were already parting her legs wide, giving the sight he’s been craving to see. She was already dripping wet for him.
“La..law-kun...please…” Robin moaned softly, her hands reached out for his head and gripping his hair ushering his face forward to her wet core. He smirked and licked her pussy with one long and teasingly slow stroke. Her head dived deeper onto the pillow at the contact even though it was minimal. “You’re already looking so fucked out my love, did i keep you waiting that long?” He teased her by bringing one digit and plunging it into her hole without warning and going at a rough pace.
“A..ahh!” she moaned and fisted his hair roughly. Law was unrelenting; he added the second...third...and fourth digits into her wet hole that was gladly accepting his intrusion. He fucked her with his fingers hard and fast never stopping to let her adjust or catch her breath. He pulled out JUST for a second much to her dismay, her blue orbs adjusted its vision to see what her lover was doing, and his actions made her whine in lust, this man was so sexy. The feral demeanor he had and the way he was enjoying pleasuring her turned her on to the point she could feel more juices dripping out from her cunt. “Fuck.., you’re dripping onto my bedsheet and soaking it baby” he groaned and admired how wet she was for him. Law gathered his saliva in his mouth and spit it directly onto her soaking cunt “Let me make it even wetter Robin-ya” he said. He shifted his position so fast that even she didn’t see this coming, he plunged his hard cock into her with no warning again. “Ohhh my god!” Robin screamed, he filled her up so good and there was no way in hell she was going to feel this type of way with anyone else. Law was not only long but his cock was so very very big and the first time they ever did this, she was taken aback like taken aback would have been an understatement.
“Gomen I cant control my...oh fuckkk you’re so tight R-robin-ya.” Law grunted aloud, he didn’t go slow nor did he held back this time, he was going to fuck her hard and long and make sure she felt him for weeks and months until they had the opportunity to meet again. He was going to wear her out and that's exactly what he was now doing.
“La...law..please..more! I-its so so so so gooood! Ahhh ah ah” whatever words she could muster out was no incoherent, she couldn't even form any proper sentence with how good he was fucking her. His length was impressive, it hit deep and reached everything that she couldn't satisfy herself and the width...mmm she worships this man’s cock. How good his dick was and how amazing the person was as well. “C’mon use your words my love, i’m going to miss you so much and i- ergh fuck!” his hands had a tight hold on her legs, spreading as wide as he could while he fuck her into oblivion. Her large breast was now being kneaded by her hands trying to maximize her pleasure even more.
“You’re so..ahhh fucking hell….sexy. Look at you right now, i could fuck you for hours and prolong this as long as I could my love” he looked down at their connection, what an erotic sight and sound. She was squelching around him and her pussy wasn’t even trying to milk him with everything he got, their juices were mixed and was dripping out of her wet hole and cum was splashed everywhere on his sheets. Oh how he would love nothing more than to capture this image and frame it in his cabin room.
His cock went in and out of hole at a vicious pace, never giving Robin a chance at catching her breath. Everything that came out from her mouth was vulgar and sinful and only her moans and his grunts echoed throughout the bedroom. “Fuck fuck fuck you feel so good around me, gripping my cock like that...so tight like- ahhh…” he brought himself down to her chest and buried his head into her giant globes and grunt out in pleasure of her soft skin and the way her pussy was sucking his cock in.
Robin had one hand gripping his sheets and one hand clawing his back trying to hold onto him to be in sync in his monstrous pace all while he was comfortably sandwiched in between the valley of her breasts. He brought his face back up and tongued her nipples that were basically calling out for his mouth, his large hands palmed the right side of her breast while he was basically making out with the other side.
Tumblr media
“La..law….kun...ahhh its too much...im g-gonna… ah ah ahhhh..” she screamed and clawed his back drawing blood, the pleasure he was bestowing upon her has become overwhelming. Law ceased all his actions and brought one hand and took both her arms, pinning them above her head and his other hand found her throat and gripped at it hard; now this was how he could get Robin to cum so hard because this has always been her kink, almost cutting off her oxygen intake brought her euphoric pleasure. “You cum only when I say you can love, are you forgetting that?” Law whispered in her ears, giving her a long teasing lick at her lobes.
Robin whined at the loss of his movements, his cock was still yet buried so deep in her hole and she was rocking back and forth trying to get some friction but his body weight kept her in check and she knew better in strength that she could never outmatch his strength especially in bed. “La..w….please please please please...ne-need to cu..cum!” she begged him desperately, her eyes were half lidded and both corners of her eyes were filled with tears of pleasure and desperation.  He brought his face down to hers and their forehead rested against each other and he locked eyes with hers, souls intertwined and orbs connected and both of them read each other like an open book.
“You look so beautiful baby, you look so good like this…” he whispered to her, face evident with pure lust and adoration. He loved this woman and he fucking knew it, there was nobody he wanted to share such passion and connection with. He wanted to pleasure her to the point of no return, making her the happiest woman alive and he relishes in her existence. “You're gonna cum so good I promise you baby” he grunt out. With that he resumed his thrust but it was even more powerful, dominant and oh so impressive. He pounded her hard and fast fucking her stupid and passionately, he gave his 1000 percent when he do her and right now he was treating her hole unforgivingly and no mercy and she was definitely going to feel him inside her everyday. He printed and branded his cock in her pussy and there will be no other man that could be compared. She whined and moaned hotly, tongue sticking out with a string of drool at the corner of her mouth, the bed shook with the rhythm of their fuck pace. The atmosphere was hot, the air was bathed in redolence of sex and passion. Sounds of his dick going in and out of her wet hole immited sloppy wet sounds that was the focus of their hearing and the unison of their sinful moans. His grip on her throat tightened and he moaned out loud at the sight and took her mouth in his and gave her an open kiss, it was sloppy and hot, their tongues fought each other and both of them were moaning in each other’s mouth.
“Cmon, cum now baby, i can feel you squeezing me so hard, you’re so good for me”
“Law...law! Law! I ahh...ahh im go..gonn! gonna cum”
“Cum for me my love” he’s raspy voice commanded her and if she was grenade, his voice was the trigger. She was sent over the edge and everything in her felt awakened and she exploded with a scream. With his hands on her neck her voice was semi blocked but this kind of orgasm remains unmatched. Robin heard Law muttering strings of curses and swears at her orgasm, she tightened and her insides was trying to milk the fuck out of his cock.
She was sent over the edge and everything in her was awakened and she exploded with a scream. With his hands on her neck her voice was semi blocked but this kinky action always had her fucked out. She saw stars and her body was instantly taken into another universe. Her legs tightened around him and were now trembling, her body still rocking with his  rampaging thrusts both rocking to the rhythm of her high.
“F-ff--fucking hell.” He grunt against her collar bones.
“La--law…” Robin whimpered softly, “Do it in me...please...i want you to cum in me and fill me up please please ple-- AHHH!” He didn’t need to be told twice, her filthy words spurred him on more and she swore he felt him getting harder.
“Fuck i- gonn...a fill you in so good..” he groaned and she captured his mouth with her open ones and their moans and grunts were drowned in the messy and sloppy wet kiss.
“Mmhmm!” Strings and strings of his load was pumping into her hole as he came the moment Robin kissed him with so much need and to simplify it….she was so fucking sexy and was the hottest woman in this god damn planet; he thought.
“Sss--so full!” she whimpered in his mouth.
Her facial expression drove him crazy, she was in a state of bliss and she was on cloud 9, only he could do her like this.
Both of them rode each other, absorbed in their high and lived for each others’ touch.
TIMESKIP
Law tossed the towel that he had used to clean Robin up into the laundry basket in his bathroom and came out to the sight of his goddess laying down peacefully. She was now looking at Law who only had a towel hugging his lower regions and she smiled, admiring his body. He was so handsome, his body was lean with the right muscles everywhere.
“You’re so handsome”
“You’re just saying that”
“No I’m not” he laughed, they were having the same conversation before their love making. He loves her. Trafalgar Law loves Nico Robin so damned much.

an interview with @easilydistractedbyfanfic (she/they)
what are you working on right now? I don’t typically take prompts, but after finding out about the Bellarke Writers For BLM Initiative and how their goal is to raise money for BLM via various fandom prompts that are requested by readers and written & illustrated by various writers and artists, I wanted to get involved. I’ve finished two prompts and am working on my third, which is a Murphy/Raven smutfic set during their years on the Ring. It’s definitely an idea I can work with - it’s over 10k at this point with a lot more to say, so hopefully the anon who requested it will end up pleased! Go check out the tumblr page and the ao3 collection - there’s various t100 pairings/ratings and you can choose the cause if you want to request a fic!
what is the fanwork you’re most proud of? I struggled with this question! My stories are all like my kids, and even if some of them could use a bit of improvement with pacing or dialogue or whatever faults I see when they age, ultimately I do love them all and I’m glad I wrote them. I do sometimes play favorites but that often depends on what I’m in the mood to read myself. That said, I really do always feel proud of my story called What You Need. It’s a darker version of Raven & Murphy, but one that I don’t find unrealistic under the circumstances of the fic. I surprised myself with where my head went on this one. In a good way, because it was really fascinating to dive into the minds of who these particular versions of the characters were.
I’m also pleased that I have over 500k on ao3 at this point. I never expected anything like this when I started writing, and it kind of blows my mind that this is my hobby now. It’s so strange to me that there are stories in my head at any given moment now.
why did you first start writing fic? I started writing in June 2018. Never wrote any fanfic before that, ever - though I did read plenty! I wrote three stories super fast, posted them all on ao3 on the same day and haven’t looked back. I think I started writing out of a combination of just really needing more content for my faves, but also I wasn’t in fandom before s5 and was quite desperate after s4 to talk to other people about Raven & Murphy. So I needed to get the stories out but also I had this hope that it would invite conversation when I didn’t know anyone in fandom.
what frustrates you most about fic writing? Just because I want to write doesn’t mean I can. Having prompts on my plate right now, I feel a real responsibility to finish them, but even when I carve time out to write, sometimes the words just don’t feel right. The muse doesn’t always strike when I have the time available. Also, it’s super ridiculously important to me that scenes and dialogue FEEL right based on the characterization I have in my head in any particular story. I can look at a scene I’ve written, especially an emotional one, and sometimes it’s just not resonating with me the way I know it could or should. It’s tough not to just push through and post it as-is, but I know that would never satisfy me, even if it means a much longer turn-around time on a story or chapter update. Often I will find that I get an a-ha moment that cracks open a better understanding of why a scene isn’t working for me, but this can take time and I have to trust in this process.
Not to preach, but it’s also frustrating when something you spend a lot of time and effort on doesn’t get much in the way of comments. I see posting fic on ao3 as a sort of conversation, so when there’s mostly silence even as the hits (and hopefully kudos) tick upwards, it can feel really...disheartening to feel like you’re talking into a void. And I say this as someone who has been fortunate enough to have regular readers who DO give feedback! I think every writer understands that they need to write for themselves first and foremost, but I wish more readers understood that feedback and enthusiasm will absolutely result in MORE CONTENT! I try very hard to follow this guideline myself by supporting and commenting on everything I read as time permits.
what are your top five songs right now? I listen to a huge mix of songs & my childhood influenced me a lot.
Some floating in my head include -
Chris Cornell’s live cover of Nothing Compares 2U Indigo Girls - Romeo & Juliet The Decemberists - Once In My Life Tori Amos - Silent All These Years The Chicks - March March
what are your inspirations (books, songs, other fic)? I find inspiration in a lot of things, which I think is lucky. One of my biggest is the characters themselves. I love getting deep into understanding who I think they are, what their motivations are and why they’d make certain decisions, whether in canon or in an AU. What parts of their personalities do they keep when they aren’t tortured and under trauma on the regular? What would happen if I change this one scenario in their lives? I could probably go on forever just based on these sorts of thoughts, but I do also find inspiration in simple things like tropes, or song lyrics and the lore of the show itself. Quite a lot of my ideas in my inspiration notebook have sci-fi themes too. A few of my stories have already touched on sci-fi topics, and I absolutely plan more of them because I love how creative that can be. I also love the idea of suspended belief - can I have sentient plant life from an alien planet that can mindread & communicate by projecting thoughts into characters' heads? Yes, yes I can! (I wrote this story, fyi - Flora Incognita, part of a series)
what attracts you to Murven? what first attracted you? Hey, do you have all day? Ha! Seriously, I could talk about this until everyone wants to strangle me! I loved Raven immediately - not so much Murphy! But I really disliked Finn, so ep 1x10 when Raven finally broke up with him had me interested. In that ep, you can see that Murphy is present, awake & nearby in the Dropship and probably overhears everything Raven says. Then he gets up and looks at her to make sure she’s still sleeping before he carries out his revenge plans. I’m not kidding - that one look absolutely and completely hooked me! Murphy was still awful then but he was so much more interesting than Finn, and back then I remember thinking how I’d really like to see them interact as two stubborn, strong personalities, because no doubt sparks would fly. And then when they did interact more, their dynamic was exactly what I’d hoped for and then some!
I love that they’ve seen each other at their worst and at their weakest and most vulnerable, yet they’ve built a strong foundation of trust, faith and understanding. They have so much in common but they’re also different sides of the coin in some ways too. Fandom talks about Bellarke being the head & the heart, but to me Raven and Murphy are the intellect & the instinct - they complement each other, provide some of the qualities that the other needs, their differences improve each other. For me, nobody gets Raven like Murphy & nobody understands Murphy like Raven. Maybe not a lot of people notice, but Raven & Murphy check in with each other a lot - Raven tends to say “I got this” but Murphy is the only person who replies to her “Do you?”. And Raven listens to Murphy’s ideas and suggestions and plans even when she’s known as the genius because she knows that he has valuable things to say. They have fun together, make each other smile and enjoy each other’s company, which is in such short supply in this show!
I know there’s parts of fandom that don’t ship them because Murphy shot Raven in s1. I have a lot of thoughts on it and have had quite a few tumblr posts about it. This is a fictional show - it does not reflect reality. I’ve been on the fringes of fandom for a long time and I know shipping doesn’t always mean yes, I want to see this relationship in real life. For me, I think it’s absolutely fascinating that someone Raven should hate has become one of her closest and most trusted friends. That she forgave him, and we as the audience get to see this dynamic change and grow, and that Murphy has always felt guilty about it even though he was being presented as selfish and out for himself - it’s such a huge, huge part of each of their character’s journeys. This is getting rather meta, but I don’t think either of these characters would have survived this long or evolved to the extent that they each have without specifically being around each other.
And I absolutely can not discuss my love for Raven & Murphy without mentioning the whole way these two LOOK at each other! OMG have you SEEN it?!?? How could I not ship them when they look at each other like that! LOL! Also, I want to keep talking about this but I’ll stop now because I truly could go on forever and anyone who follows me already knows I’m wordy.
BESIDES Murven, what’s your favorite ship in t100? Honestly, nothing else comes close to Murven for me, but I did like Kabby before the show just eviscerated their characters. I like the possibilities of Niytavia still. I can see why people ship Murphamy in the earlier seasons. Definitely think Echo/Roan could’ve been something intriguing. And I’ve got this weird thing going right now where I wouldn’t hate Murphy/Russheda, but admittedly that’s mostly about the aesthetic! I tried really hard to like other partners for Raven & Murphy since they’ve always been my faves, but I’ve been meh about all the possibilities except Luna as a partner for Raven or as a Luna/Raven/Murphy threesome. At some point I might write that. Otherwise I’d say I tend to like the friendships more than the ships.
what are some things you’d like to recommend? I always hesitate to recommend other stories & authors because I can’t stand the idea of people feeling left out if I forget to mention them! But I would like to say that I really and truly love my fellow Murven shippers who read & support my stories and who create content like fic and art and gifs and fanvids. I find so much inspiration in them even though sometimes I can’t get through 30 seconds of a fanvid before I have to pause it because the angst is too much for me!
Since you’re kind enough to ask me this question and maybe a few people will read this answer, please - I recommend that everyone educate themselves on social justice and climate change and Black Lives Matter and capitalism and unions and what intersectionality & solidarity truly mean! Vote like your lives depend on it because THEY DO!

so i did a reading challenge this year and i wanna talk about what i read
transcription under the cut
i did Popsugar 2019 and wanna talk about what i read:  Book Reccs and Anti-Reccs
1.) Becoming a Movie in 2019: Umbrella Academy (vol 1) by Gerard Way and Gabriel Ba
4/5. A fascinating take on superpowers, dysfunctional families, and the apocalypse. Can get pretty gory, confusing here and there and you have to pay close attention to panels for lore, but overall an entertaining romp.
2.) Makes you Feel Nostalgic: Circles in the Stream by Rachel Roberts
4/5. Middle grade novel about the magic of music, belief, and of course, friendship. Definitely written for kids, and has some unfortunately clumsy Native rep, but overall an absolute joy to dive into once again.
3.) Written by a Musician: Umbrella Academy (vol 2) by Gerard Way and Gabriel Ba
4/5. Ramps up the confusion to ridiculous degrees with some absolutely bonkers, unexplained arcs, but still fun to watch this dysfunctional family do its dysfunctional thing.
4.) You Think Should be Turned into a movie: All That Glitters by Rachel Roberts
4/5. Continuation of Circles in the Stream, but with more unicorns, more rainbows, and more fae, which makes it automatically even better than the first.
5.) With At Least 1 Mil. Ratings on Goodreads: 1984 by George Orwell
1/5. I understand why it's important and all but wasn't prepared for some of the more graphic scenes and the overall hopelessness of the message.  Would not recommend or read again.
6.) W/ a Plant in the title or cover: The secret of Dreadwillow carse by Brian farrey
5/5. A fantasy world where everyone is always happy, save for one girl and the princess, who set out to solve the mystery of their kingdom. Poignant and great for kids and adults.
7.) Reread of a favorite: Cry of the Wolf by Rachel Roberts
4/5. Yet another installment in the Avalon: Web of Magic series, which clearly I am obsessed with.  Please just read them.
8.) About a Hobby: Welcome to the Writer's Life by Paulette Perhach
5/5. A welcome kick in the pants, chock full of great advice told without condescension, and full of hope and inspiration for writers both new and old.
9.) Meant to read in 2018: The Poet x by Elizabeth Acevedo
4/5. Absolutely beautiful coming of age novel told in verse.  Do yourself a favor and listen to the audiobook version.
10.) w/ "pop," "sugar," or "challenge" in the title: Black Sugar by Miguel Bonnefoy
2/5. I think maybe I just don't understand this genre.  Or maybe the translation was weird. I was confused.
11.) w/ An Item of Clothing or Accessory on the cover: Our dreams at Dusk by Yuhki Kamatani
4/5. It had a lot more slurs/homophobia than I was prepared for, but otherwise is a very touching, relatable collection of queer characters living in a heteronormative world.
12.) Inspired by Mythology or Folklore: Ravenous by MarcyKate Connolly
3/5. A girl goes on an impossible quest to save her brother from a child-eating witch. Really wanted to like it more because I loved the first one, Monstrous, but it dragged a little.
13.) Published Posthumously: The Islands of Chaldea by Diana Wynne Jones
3/5. I adore Diana Wynne Jones, but this one was missing some of the magic of her other books. Not sure if it was because it had to be finished by someone else, or if I just grew out of her stories.
14.) Set in Space: Binti by Nnedi Okorafor
4/5. Powerfully written story of a girl straddling tradition and innovation, who wields power through mathematical magic, surviving on a spaceship alone with a dangerous alien occupation after everyone else has been killed.
15.) By 2 Female Authors: Burn for Burn by Jenny Han and Siobhan Vivian
2/5. Ostensibly a story about a revenge pact in a small island town, but leaves far too many dangling threads to attempt alluring you to the sequel.
16.) W/ A Title containing "salty," "bitter," "Sweet," or "Spicy": The Price of Salt by Patricia Highsmith
3/5. It's okay but I literally just never know what anyone means at any time. Are they being reticent on purpose or do i just not understand communication
17.) Set in scandinavia: Vinland Saga by Makoto Yukimura
2/5. Technically and historically accurate and well made, but the story itself is not my cup of tea.  Very gory.
18.) Takes Place in a Single Day: Long WAy Down by Jason Reynolds
4/5. A boy goes to avenge his murdered brother, but ghostly passengers join him on the elevator ride down. Stunning and powerful character-driven analysis.
19.) Debut Novel: Nimona by Noelle Stevenson
4/5. Charming and then surprisingly heart-breaking comic about Nimona, a shapeshifter who wants to become a villain's minion. Really love the villain/hero dynamic going on in the background, along with the dysfunctional found family.
20.) Published in 2019: The Book of Pride by Mason Funk
4/5. A collection of interviews with the movers, shakers, and pioneers of the queer and LGBTQ+ community.  An absolutely essential work for community members and allies alike.
21.) Featuring an extinct/imaginary creature: Phoebe and her Unicorn by Dana Simpson
4/5. Incredibly charming, Calvin and Hobbes-esque collection of comics featuring the adventures of Phoebe and her unicorn best friend.
22.) Recced by a celebrity you admire: The Emerald Circus by Jane Yolen
2/5. Recced by my fave author Brandon Sanderson. An unfortunately disappointing anthology proving that any story can be made uninteresting by telling the wrong section of it.
23.) With "Love" in the Title: Book Love by Debbie Tung
4/5. One of those relatable webcomics, only this one I felt super hard almost the entire time.  Books are awesome and libraries rule.
24.) Featuring an amateur detective: Nancy Drew: Palace of Wisdom by Kelly Thompson
4/5. REALLY love this modern take on Nancy Drew, coming back home to her roots to solve a brand new mystery. Diverse cast and lovely artwork, though definitely more adult.
25.) About a family: Amulet by Kabu Kibuishi
4/5. Excellent, top tier graphic novel about a sister and brother who have to go rescue their mother with a mysterious magic stone. LOVE that the mom gets to be involved in the adventure for once.
26.) by an author from asia, Africa, or s. America: Girls' Last tour by Tsukumizu
4/5. Somehow both light-hearted and melancholy. Two girls travel about an empty, post-apocalyptic world, and muse about life and their next meal.
27.) w/ a Zodiac or astrology term in title: Drawing down the moon by margot adler
3/5. A good starting place for anyone interested in the Neo Pagan movement, but didn't really give me what I was personally looking for.
28.) you see someone reading in a tv show or movie: The Promised NEverland by Kaiu Shirai
4/5. I don't watch TV or movies where people read books so i think reading an adaptation of a TV series after watching the series counts. Anyway it was good but beware racist caricatures
29.) A retelling of a classic: Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy by Rey Terciero
5/5. We can stop the Little Women reboots and retellings now, this is the only one we need. In fact, we can toss out the original too, this is the only one necessary.
30.) w/ a question in the title: So I'm a spider, so what? by Asahiro Kakashi
4/5. Cute art despite the subject matter, and a surprisingly enthralling take on the isekai genre. Love the doubling down on the video game skills.
31.) Set in a college or university campus: Moonstruck (vol 2) by Grace Ellis
2/5. An incredibly cute, beautiful, and fascinating world of modern magic and creatures, but unfortunately falls apart at the plot and pacing.
32.) About someone with a superpower: Moonstruck (vol 1) by Grace Ellis
4/5. Though nearly as messy plot-wise as its sequel, the first volume is overwhelmingly charming in a way that overpowers the more confusing plot elements.
33.) told from multiple povs: The Long way to a Small, Angry Planet by becky Chambers
4/5. Told almost in a serial format, like watching a miniseries, a group of found-family spaceship crew members make the long journey to their biggest job ever.
34.) Includes a wedding: We Set the dark on fire by Tehlor kay mejia
4/5. Timely and poignant, a girl tumbles into both love and resistance after becoming one of two wives to one of the most powerful men in the country.
35.) by an author w/ alliterative name: The only harmless great Thing by brooke bolander
3/5. Much deeper than I can currently comprehend.  Beautifully written, but difficult to parse.
36.) A ghost story: Her body and other parties by Carmen Maria Machado
4/5.  It counts because one of the stories in it has ghosts. A sometimes difficult collection of surrealist, feminist, queer short stories.
37.) W/ a 2 word title: Good omens by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman
4/5. Charming, touching, and comical, probably the best take on the apocalypse to date. Also excellent ruminations on religion and purpose.
38.) based on a true story: The faithful Spy by John Hendrix
4/5. Brilliantly crafted graphic biography of Dietrich Bonhoeffer, and his assistance in fighting back against Nazi Germany.
39.) Revolving around a puzzle or game: the Crossover by Kwame alexander
4/5. The verse didn't always hit right with me, but the story is a sweet, melancholy one about family, loss, and moving on.
40.) previous popsugar prompt (animal in title): The last unicorn by peter s. Beagle
5/5. Absolutely one of my all-time favorite books, it manages to perfectly combine anachronism and comedy with lyricism, melancholy, and ethereal beauty.
41.) Cli-fi: Tokyo Mew Mew by Mia ikumi and Reiko Yoshida
4/5. Shut up it counts
42.) Choose-your-own-adventure: My Lady's choosing by Kitty curran
3/5. Cute in concept, a bit underwhelming in execution. Honestly, just play an otome.
43.) "Own Voices": Home by Nnedi Okorafor
3/5. The storytelling style was definitely not my style; while the first book was slow, too, it felt more purposeful. I found my attention wandering during this installment.
44.) During the season it's set in: Pumpkinheads by rainbow rowell
3/5. Cute art, but precious little substance.  The concept simply wasn't for me in the first place.
45.) LITRPG: My next life as a villainess: All routes lead to doom! by Hidaka nami
5/5. An absolute insta-fave! Charming art, endearing characters, an incredible premise, and so much sweet wholesome fluff it'll give you cavities.
46.) No chapters: The field guide to dumb birds of north america by matt kracht
3/5. It started out super strong, but the joke started to wear thin at a little past the halfway point.
47.) 2 books with the same title: Unfollow by Megan Phelps-Roger
4/5. A brave and enduring personal story of growing up in and eventually leaving the Westboro Baptist Church. Really called to me to act with grace and kindness even more in the future.
48.) 2 books with the same title: unfollow by rob williams and michael dowling
1/5. How many times do you think we can make Battle Royale again before someone notices
49.) That has inspired a common phrase or idiom: THe Outsiders by S.E. Hinton
4/5. Definitely good and deserves it's praise as something that pretty much revolutionized and created an entire demographic of literature.
50.) Set in an abbey, cloister, Monastery, convent, or vicarage: Murder at the vicarage by agatha christie
3/5. I just cannot. physically keep up with all of these characters or find the energy to read between the lines.
ok that's all i got, what did y'all read and like this year?  (oh god it’s gonna be 2020)

If you have the time and if you don't mind, what are some books you really recommend? Doesn't have to be all time faves, but anything that pops into mind that you want more ppl to read and love, Extra points if lgbt+ , i got the whole summer with little to do and i wanna spend it reading some good quality writing and honestly so far your recs have introduced me to so many faves its unbelievable
[blushes profusely] oh wow, thank you!!!  i’m so glad you’ve trusted me enough to check out some of the stuff i reblog; that is like the ultimate compliment, i can’t even???  i don’t mind at all(!), fair warning though: i only started recording what i read partway through last year and my mind is like a sieve so i’ll do my absolute best to remember what’s sang to me in the recent past.  warning number two: i’m in an open relationship with absolutely every genre out there so i’ll try to note which belongs where so you can avoid those that hold no interest for you.
LGBT+
i’ll give you the sun.  i loved this book, the writing is fucking transformative and all the characters are so damn likable, while still being realistically flawed human beings.
the raven cycle (tetralogy).  definitely my favorite series since harry potter.  the writing, the world-building, the characters, it’s all on top-form.  i wrote a little, mini non-spoilery review of it: here, back when i was better (worse?) wordly-wise and my feels were brand new.
more happy than not.  i’m still not sure how i feel about this book.  it was hard, but it felt very true to the characters and the lingo and style matched the ages of the players and i have a lot of respect for that.
the watchmaker of filigree street.  woooow i loved this book.  i admit ‘historical fiction’ kind of makes me cringe.  it never precludes me from reading a book but it does knock it down the list by a book or five because they’re often very dense and very clunky and end up taking me ages to get through.  but this one was gorgeous.  i loved the plot, the attention lovingly placed on every character and the historical elements.  the surprise gay in an already brilliant book felt like winning the lottery honestly.
captive prince (trilogy).  okay, truthfully, i’m only putting this on here because the second book is such a high point for me.  it was never bad at any point but it had unfortunately been hyped far too much for it to live up to my, admittedly, very high expectations.  hopefully it’ll fare better with you?
everything i never told you.  i go back and forth on this one.  i like the writing a lot, i like the LGBT aspect a lot, and i like the mystery aspect a lot but there are definitely characters i would cut out entirely for sheer predictability if i could and that killed a lot of my enjoyment at the time (but i think much more highly of it in retrospect?).  so, take that as you like.
aristotle and dante discover the secrets of the universe.  if there’s a book that handles its characters with more care or respect or consideration then i haven’t run into it.  i love the way this is written and the people it’s populated with.
flying lessons & other stories.  a bunch of uber talented authors writing a bunch of uber diverse and LGBT-focused stories and, yes, that is exactly as awesome as it sounds.
the song of achilles.  it is utterly heart-breaking but so rich, honestly.
FANTASY
the diviners.  (also has a minor LGBT character, who may play a bigger role in the sequel?)  fair warning, i have not read the sequel, lair of dreams, because it is somehow still not out in paperback (yes, i read physical books, yes, i pretty exclusively read paperbacks so i can lug them everywhere with me, YES, I PRE-ORDERED THIS ALMOST TWO YEARS AGO AND IT’S STILL NOT OUT, NOT THAT I’M BITTER ABOUT THAT OR ANYTHING) so i can’t speak to that one finishing on a high note as i don’t know.  but this was the first historical novel i managed to like in a long while.  it does such a good job of fusing in 1920s lingo and dress and aspects that i couldn’t help but love it.  add in the fantasy elements and i can admit i’m the perfect sucker for it.
the scorpio races.  i’m not sure why but it took me a long-ass time to get into this book, i wasn’t flipping pages with gusto until well towards the end but - especially as i was reading so much YA at the time - i really appreciated coming across a romance that lets both people come into it as themselves and stay themselves, neither puck nor sean were ever smashed or crumpled or shaved away to fit into their relationship, which was so refreshing.  plus the water horses were fucking cool.
the night circus.  the writing, the atmosphere, the circus.  just… it is all very whoa.
all the birds in the sky.  i loved this writing style and these characters and the magical elements.
CONTEMPORARY
i’ll meet you there.  there was something about this and i just… ended up liking it way more than i expected to.  i might’ve just read it at exactly the right time, i’m not sure, but i really enjoyed it.
the invoice.  this is honestly just hella cute and so freaking surreal.  swedes, man.
NON-FICTION
why not me?  i like mindy kaling a lot.  i make no apologies for that.  plus you can read both her books in about five seconds, haha.
SCIENCE FICTION
station eleven.  i loved this book.  the way the narrative is woven is so refreshing and i wish the comic book miranda was writing in this book was a real thing more than anything else in the woooorld.
illuminae.  hot DAMN this book was cool.  the plot was rock solid, the characters were hilarious and badass and the graphics made out of text and spiraling words and just the way this thing is put together?  shit, it’s worth your money and then some.
a robot in the garden.  okay this is just cute as hell.  i can’t even with tang, he’s the most adorable robot to ever adorable.
annihilation (southern reach trilogy).  (LGBT minor characters.)  okay, honestly?  i don’t know.  this was freaking zany but i was invested as fuck in all the kookiness for reasons i can’t articulately elaborate on.
the martian.  hilarious, engaging, SPACE.  what more do you want?
HORROR
things we lost in the fire.  this is more atmospheric than anything but, damn, could this get me wishing i wasn’t reading this in the dark or looking over my shoulder to make absolutely sure no one was standing behind me.  it’s a book of short stories (by the way, i love books of short stories and i definitely realize that is not true for everyone) and each one is so well-delivered and stylized.  i really enjoyed reading this.
let the right one in.  okay, this is legit horror so definitely stay away if you’re easily squicked out but it is harrrrrd to find good horror (at least in my opinion) and this definitely, definitely qualifies.
horrorstör.  i honestly had such low expectations for this, a horror story set in a wannabe-ikea, but it ended up being so ridiculous and strange and funny that i was won over by the finish.
the girl with all the gifts.  holy unique and well-executed zombie idea, batman!
SHORT STORIES
the bigness of the world.  there were definitely ones here that hit better than others but the ones i liked, i really liked!
GRAPHIC NOVELS (i read a lot of these so, um, prepare yourself)
saga.  (LGBT minor characters as well.)  this is world-building to a degree that i’m convinced did not exist before.  just, i can’t say enough amazing things about this series and the staggering amount of imagination that regularly goes into it.
ms. marvel.  heart-warming as fuck.  it’s definitely really easy to lose faith in the world these days, luckily kamala is there to remind you that people are primarily and genuinely good.
black science.  this is another one that took just an insane amount of imagination to cook up.  i got off to kind of a rocky start with this one but the gray-ness of all the characters really speaks to me, and that doesn’t really blossom until later in the series.
spider-man/deadpool.  this was very satisfying for my super duper spideypool-shipping mind.  joe and ed did us so good, and joe basically said in his sign-off: i made it absolutely as gay as they would let me, haha.
the wicked + the divine.  (LGBT minor characters that you’re going to get way too attached to, and retroactively.  it’s awful [sobs].)  the concept for this, gods reincarnating into teenagers before they burn up their hosts after a predetermined set of time, is so fucking cool.  the humor and the characters and the plot is all just aces.
iceman (LGBT MAIN CHARACTER).  okay, so this just started.  like issue #2 was only released days ago but 1) i am liking it so far and 2) marvel did it so dirty and barely advertised bobby - an openly homosexual superhero - was getting his own series, like, i found out about it the day before it went on sale and i keep my ear fairly close to the ground (not as close as some BY A LOT, but closer than the lay person i’d say) so if you can support it, please do!  pre-orders mean a lot in terms of numbers. :))))
descender.  admittedly, this starts out rooough.  because the main character, TIM-21 (and his little dog too), are annoying as hell.  he’s an android so there’s no dimension to him so he’s booooring as all get out but i am so glad i stuck with it through to the next trade because, probably picking up on the unsustainability of him as a main character, he gets shuffled off and the side characters get the stage and they rock so hard.
paper girls. (LGBT main characters.)  i’m kind of just convinced that brian k. vaughan can do no wrong at this point.  his plots are so tight and mind-blowing and badass.
monstress.  here’s a little tid-bit about me: female comic book writers are 100% more likely to get my money and my time because they are so damn rare and this series is unique, badass, and eye-opening.
black monday murders.  i’m a little premature with this since there’s only one volume and i usually try to wait until there are at least two but i check up on a volume two a lot so that definitely means something intrigued me!
nailbiter.  okay, i haven’t read the final volume yet ‘cause i’m reluctant to let it go but, so far, a series about multiple serial killers all being from the same town has me VERY HOOKED.
i wish i could remember more but this is honestly way better than i expected to do, haha.  they’re definitely not all my all-time faves but they’re ones that have stuck with me for one reason or another and that i didn’t feel i wasted my time on, so that’s something, right?  i hope this helps get you started and that you don’t think too awfully of me when you inevitably run across ones that aren’t your cup of tea!

Hey hey, are you familiar with the TFS team from KnB? Can you make a scenario with this team please?? I love this team and I wish to see it real
Hi sweetheart! I’d never heard of this team before you told me, so I looked around. I found very little information about it, but I love it! Takao & Momoi’s friendship is one of my fave headcanons, they would rock. So, here’s a…thing? Absolutely self-indulgent and out of contest.
Have a wonderful day!
TFS Team (Takao, Momoi, Himuro, Kasamatsu, Mayuzumi and Kiyoshi), Slice of Life, Pre-MomoMayu, Bonding, References to other couples, Stupid Jokes, SomeoneSaveKasamatsuSenpai
 Bonding
“We’re here!” Kiyoshi’s loud voice echoed in the peaceful afternoon. He and Kasamatsu walked down the path of the park until they reached the tree under which the rest of team was waiting.
Mayuzumi was reading a novel, trying to shut out the, noisy, world outside. Momoi was seated with Takao’s head on her lap, as she chatted excitedly with Himuro.
“Senpai!” Takao waved his hand cheerfully, followed by the others. Only Mayuzumi decided to just nod in acknowledgment.
“Yo,” Kasamatsu curtly greeted, seating in the grass with them. In his hands, he had a plastic bag full of small treats.
“You’re all here!” Kiyoshi commented warmly, looking at them with fondness.
Momoi nodded happily, “I’d never miss a reunion!”
Takao grinned, “I’m actually surprised Mayu-chan came too, after his salty messages on the group chat.”
The boy looked up from his book and glared, “Stop with the nickname.”
Takao’s Cheshire smile widened.
“I bet he didn’t want to miss the chance to meet with our pretty manager,” he hummed teasingly.
The girl blushed furiously.
“Takao-kun!” she scolded flicking his forehead as the boy laughed loudly.
Mayuzumi’s cheeks reddened, but he remained impassible.
“I came for the free food.”
“I think it’s a lie,” Himuro argued with his fake, polite smile and Mayuzumi’s eyebrows twitched in annoyance.
“Didn’t you have to babysit the big purple baby?”
“Didn’t you have to serve your psycho emperor?”
“Alright brats,” Kasamatsu interrupted them before things went out of hand since Kiyoshi was laughing carefree at their bantering, “I’ve just arrived and I already want to go home.”
“Aw Captain, I know you love us!” Takao taunted, batting his eyelashes and grabbing the older boy’ sleeve.
Kasamatsu grimaced disgusted and slapped his hand away, “Do you want to get hit?”
“Kinky senpai!”
Kasamatsu nearly choked on air, eyes wide and cheeks scarlet with embarrassment. Himuro had to hide his smirk with a hand and even Mayuzumi snorted. Momoi tried to glare at his friend, still resting on her lap, but a giggle escaped from her lips.
“I’ll end you all.” Kasamatsu’s tone dropped to icy cold and all the boys in the group froze, internally debating if they had to stand up and run or not as Kasamatsu cracked his knuckles. Truth to be told, except for Momoi, all of them had been hit at least once by Kasamatsu, some more than others, and nobody was keen on experiencing it again; as Mayuzumi had cynically observed, the Captain’s sheer strength was probably the reason why Kise was so stupid: all of his neurons had been brutally killed.
Before Kasamatsu managed to kill anyone, Kiyoshi patted his back and put a hand on his shoulder to keep him down.
“Come on, Kasamatsu,” he smiled cheerfully, “We’ve other things to discuss today, I need them to be conscious.”
The others sighed in relief.
“You can chase them afterward.”
And then died inside.
“You’re the evilest one in this group…” Mayuzumi whispered frowning, as he imperceptibly moved away from Kiyoshi.
Kasamatsu seemed to ponder the offer and finally relaxed, resting both palms on the ground as he slouched in a more comfortable position. Still, he gave his preys a small, warning smirk.
“What are you planning, Kiyoshi-senpai?” Momoi asked, absentmindedly braiding Takao’s hair. Her face clearly showed she already knew, or at least imagine it, but wanted to hear if she was right from him.
“I’d like to organize a match against the Vorpal Swords next weekend, what do you think?” He explained, excitement showing in his eyes.
Mayuzumi cringed internally. He knew! He should have stayed home.
“Against Shin-chan?” Takao beamed, “Count me in!” He was wearing a scheming smile that made Kasamatsu grimace internally.
Himuro shrugged but behind his poker face burned a competitive fire.
“I haven’t played against Taiga in a while…”
“We’re not on their level,” Mayuzumi commented in his matter-of-fact tone.
“What,” Takao immediately replied, “Are you scared, Mayu-chan?”
“You still haven’t recovered from the last defeat against Kuroko?” Himuro rubbed it in.
“Of course not,” the boy bit back, adding colorful curses under his breath, “I’m just saying we need a good plan if we want to beat them,” he growled, before losing any animosity and turning to Momoi.
“We’ll be in your hands, Momoi-san.”
The girl brightened, clapping her hands, “Leave it to me!”
“Be careful,” Takao slyly smirked, “Mayu-chan would love to be literally in your hands!”
“Takao-kun!”
“Takao!” Kasamatsu burst, blushing.
Mayuzumi hit the boy in the face with his, heavy, novel, but the raven was too busy laughing his ass off to care. Momoi, with warm cheeks, pressed the book against his face as to suffocate him until he whined, rolling to hug her waist.
“Don’t be mean Momo-chan!” he childishly complained, burying his head against her stomach.
Mayuzumi felt the need to throw another book.
“You deserve it!” she scolded, trying to peel him off, but he chuckled, tightening his grip until she gave up, throwing her hands up.
“You’re impossible,”
“And still I’m your best friend.”
“Dai-chan is my best friend.”
“He’s the childhood best friend. I’m the smart best friend.”
She would have liked to argue but since it was actually the truth, she just shook her head exasperated, trying to mask a giggle.
“Do you like annoying people or being hit?” Himuro asked Takao, as the boy returned to his original position.
“Tatsu-chan, stop asking dirty questions when the Captain is here,” the raven innocently batted his eyelashes, “What happens in the bedroom is a secret between Shin-chan and me!”
“Oh for the love of-” Kasamatsu nearly combusted
“Disgusting!” Mayuzumi hissed, but only received a wink in reply.
“Okay, okay, let’s stop here,” Kiyoshi intervened suddenly distributing the sweets, “Eat and keep calm, okay?”
Nobody even got angry anymore when he used his parental tone, they all rolled with it and took the treat. If Kasamatsu was the Captain, Kiyoshi was the Dad of the team; it was a silent agreement.
“Kasamatsu-senpai,” Himuro asked politely, “Are you fine with the game? You have time?” His concern seemed sincere for once, so Kasamatsu nodded, relaxing his shoulders.
“Yeah, I finished my assignments for this month.” he explained taking a bit of chocolate, “And, if I have to be honest, I can’t wait to play with the brats and knock some sense into the Dumb Duo.” Kasamatsu clenched his fists with a tense, maniacal smile.
Kiyoshi could have sworn he had seen flames burning behind his friend.
“Oh?” Momoi raised an eyebrow and her eyes sharpened, “He has called you too?”
The others, except for Takao, who hid his mouth to stop a giggle, looked at the two confused.
“It was three in the morning. Three. In. The. Morning.” Kasamatsu growled, trembling from the irritation.
“Dai-chan directly crashed into my room. From the window.”
“Kise kept me on the phone for two hours. When I tried to hang up he threatened to call my roommates.”
“I had a test the next day!”
“I didn’t even want to know all those details about their love life! Why does he even run to me every freaking time?”
“I had to watch with him three basketball matches as he ranted on and on about their stupid argument.”
Kasamatsu and Momoi exchanged an understanding, icy stare.
Mayuzumi sent an interrogative glance at Takao, who mouthed “Aomine and Kise quarreled again.”
He rolled his eyes. Nothing new.
In the meanwhile, the two victims had reached a silent agreement. Funny since at first Kasamatsu couldn’t even look at Momoi without freezing.
“I want to beat their asses and make them feel my pain,” Kasamatsu admitted bluntly.
Momoi nodded, as serious as him.
“Don’t worry, you have me on the team. I’ll have you all crush them. Hard.”
Himuro felt shivers down his back and turned to Kiyoshi, “When she has this look, I think we could really win.”
“Yeah, that’s why I chose her,” Kiyoshi grinned knowingly.
“Then let’s go,” Kasamatsu, now fired up, stood up and stretched. Kiyoshi followed him,  literally emitting satisfaction and happiness.
“Where?” Mayuzumi inquired blankly.
“To train, Mayu-chan,” Takao jumped up, bouncing on his feet, “Captain needs to vent out his stress.”
“You are the one who causes me stress.”
“Not as much as Kise.”
“That’s not a compliment,” Himuro snorted and caught the ball Kiyoshi threw him.
Mayuzumi sighed and was already going to bitch about how he would have preferred to read his book, when a small hand entered his view. He looked up and met Momoi’s gentle smile.
“Let’s go, Mayuzumi-kun!” she chirped, still offering her hand.
A small smile escaped his lips as he took it, standing up next to her.
“Only this time.”
“You always say that,” she replied cheekily.
“Hey lovebirds!” Takao called laughing, already ahead with the others, “Come on!”
“Can I beat him?” Mayuzumi hissed scowling and Momoi chuckled, tugging his sleeve.
“Only at basketball, Mayuzumi-kun, only at basketball.”

A / B (i totally know which one you're choosing here kjgdsj) / L / N / T
Arya Stark: okay so this is probably gonna be long, just like the other ones lol sorry #somebody stop me. she’s hands-down my favorite female got/asoiaf character and most certainly one of the most complex characters of anything ever imo. her entire life she felt alienated, felt like she was ugly and worthless. she didn’t fit in bc she wasn’t what people wanted her to be. she loves her family, even sansa. she misses them and she longs for them, yet she doesn’t dare to dream of seeing them again bc she’s afraid that something bad’s gonna happen (and it happens bc this is got, afterall). arya develops a deep bond with her wolf *casually side-eyes the show writers* and feels like she belongs somewhere. she’s afraid of rejection, she’s a senstive girl with a lot of love in her heart. *side-eyes people who want to paint her as a brutal mass murderer, also side-eyes show writers again* i love all these sides of her character, she is so multi-layered and it makes so much sense for her character. she has dark and bright sides. another thing that i admire and love is her kindness and openmindness (is that a word?). also she’s a fucking feminist. not that kind of “feminist” that says shit like “girls are stupid, girls who like feminine things are stupid” *side-eyes show writers one more time* she admires and respects all kinds of women and befriends people who are lower in class than she is, simply bc she doesn’t care about class. she cares about people. holy shit i guess i’ll stop now before i end up writing a huge essay lol sorry.
Bran Stark: yeAH YOU WERE RIGHT IS ANYONE SURPRISED BY MY CHOICE I KNOW I AM NOT!! (i’ll probably be mixing show and book stuff, sorry in advance) okay so this boy hardly gets any love from the got fandom since the writers love to forget that he’s an actual character and not just a way to show some exposition. also the fandom is hella ableist but let’s not get into the fandom drama, maybe another day. all this boy ever wanted is to become a knight, he dreamed of it. but one day he just happened to be placed into a terrible position and his entire life changed (truly fuck you jaime tbh). being disabled is a challenge, especially for a little boy like bran. honestly before I start writing down his entire arc, i will just name what i love about him: i love his kindness, for the smallfolk, his family, his friends; i love his intelligence and resilience; i love his determination to find the three-eyed raven. i also love how good he did when he was lord of winterfell. he’s in a position now, that he never wanted,a powerful and dangerous one. he still takes responsibility bc he knows that’s the best for the world rn. honestly his chapter in adwd was incredibly dark and sad, i read it and i was getting really sad bc you can really see how much all of this affects him, and now the three-eyed raven wants bran to accept the darkness. he has a deep connection with his wolf and he sees warging summer as some sort of escapism, he can run around and he feels whole. that’s just so sad. yet he’s such a strong character with so much love to give. truly before i start crying, i just wanna say that it’s a fucking shame that the fandom doesn’t appreciate bran for more than just his “cool powers” and the flashbacks. he is a wonderfully complex and interesting character and i hate this shitty ableist annoying fandom bye (wow i got angry REAL quick).
Lito Rodriguez: look;;you know how lovely this dude is.he is just!! so!! for real tho, he is one of my fave characters in sense8 (can’t choose 1 single fave bc nOoO) and I love his arc, how he overcomes some personal issues and learns to accept and love himself as a gay man and be brave enough to state that publicly. just the way he progressed is so beautiful imo. also he is super dramatic so I absolutely #relate to that.
Nyssa al Ghul: okay so she is absolutely badass and beautiful. this amazing lesbian queen will kick your ass if you’re a uglyass gross dude trying to hit on her, she has no time for shit like that. she’s daughter of the demon and should be the rightful heir, if her dad only wasn’t an asshole. she’s also super adorable and enjoys dipping her french fries in a milkshake, even tho it confuses her. she’s everything omg.
Theon Greyjoy: okay so this boy has been through some S H I T. not everyone enjoys him but to me he has one of the most complex story-arcs in the entirety of got/asoiaf. he started out being kinda dickish, yet somehow some of his behavior is understandable since he’s been raised as a ward and therefore as a less important member of the stark household. he didn’t belong with the starks but in the end he realized that they were his true family. and then he gets back home, gets rejected by his father, fucks some shit up and ends up being tortured for several years. the horrors that he goes through are insane and he is changing completely, trauma and all. now, i love this man bc he is incredibly complex and morally grey. he did some fucked up shit but for some of his decisions you can kinda see why he did what he did. he didn’t deserve any of this, he didn’t deserve torture and sexual abuse and he almost gave up on himself and life. almost. i don’t wanna write too much here bc i’m getting emo. just know that this man is a highly intriguing character and his chapters in adwd were my favorite, by far.
Drop five letters of the alphabet in my ask box, and I’ll give my favorite characters whose name starts with those letters.
