a sort of organised analysis of The Gifted characters

pt. 1: Pang

(this analysis includes episodes 1-13 of season one and 1-7 of season two, so it probably isn’t completely accurate, but i tried my best. also please excuse grammar or spelling errors that i might’ve made cuz i write these late at night when my creativity sparks lmao)

Characteristics and qualities in the beginning of season 1

Even in the very first episode, Pang already showed some idealistic qualities. He always thought that the school system wasn’t fair, and he always tried doing the right thing (or what he thought was the right thing). His idealism wasn’t as extreme in the very beginning of the show, since he wasn’t as confident in his abilities. He probably didn’t have much interest in changing the school system when he (and the people around him) saw him as a dumb kid from classroom 8. Getting into the Gifted Program was what affected his idealism to the point where it became a fault.

Before he discovered his potential, he was most likely very confused about his “academic rank”. He was in classroom 8, yet he was in the Gifted Program... but he hadn’t found his potential yet. I can imagine him questioning his worth and how significant he really was; he was also one of the first kids in the gifted class to outwardly express how they felt about the unfair treatment of the ordinary students compared to the gifted students. This was probably because he got to experience both ends of the unequal treatment, unlike the rest of his gifted classmates.

In terms of intelligence, Pang is street smart. In episode one he thought of a distraction to not get caught stealing the test. He also used the egg drop parachute to save his phone. He is innovative and can create ideas and identify problems. In episode one (again), he noticed that Wave was sweating and seemed weak. He also noticed Ohm’s bloody nose and Mon moving a locker full of weights. He was aware of shit... but he’s not very aware of other people’s feelings... at least not fully.

Pang’s friendship with Nac hits different after the pangwave fight but anyways... Pang knew that he didn’t use the cheat sheet, and he couldn’t tell Nac anything about the Gifted Program, so he probably didn’t fully understand why Nac was so upset when he technically did nothing wrong. Nac even said he wasn’t upset that Pang was in the Gifted Program. I think that’s why Pang never talked it out with him and just kinda exploded at him. Even though he may see himself as empathetic, it’s really just him being idealistic. He mistakes his ideals about equality for empathy, when, in fact, those are two separate things. When it comes to individual people, I don’t think he’s very good at understanding them thoroughly enough. Nac’s reasons for being upset with Pang are realistic and valid. He’s in class 1, Pang’s in class 8, yet Pang was the one who got into the Gifted Program. Nac gave Pang a cheat sheet, and even though Pang denies using it, he couldn’t really believe that he got in with the grades he has. And on top of that, Pang doesn’t even tell him what happens in the class. Nac feels used and excluded, but Pang wasn’t paying attention to that. He ended up blaming the unfair system, which was just a factor of the conflict, but never took a moment to look at what he himself could’ve done to help the conflict, or even what he might’ve done wrong. but issokay cuz pang is a smol bean and i love him

Characteristics and qualities in the middle - the end of season 1

Lets talk about Pang discovering his potential in episode 6. He first noticed it when he told Nac to bang his head on a metal bar. This wasn’t the first time he used his potential on Nac, though. In the first episode he used it on him and said something like “don’t talk to me ever again”, and so Nac didn’t communicate with again him until episode 6. This was when Pang used his potential on him saying “why can’t we just talk it out?” and Nac was finally able to communicate his frustration. Nac was blaming Pang for shit he didn’t do and it was unreasonable, according to Pang, but Nac didn’t know the full story. If you look at the way Nac sees things: Pang is in the Gifted Program, Pang used me to get into the program (because there’s no way he just got in without using my cheat sheet), I got punished when Wave provoked me and Pang tried playing hero, as if he was some perfect angel. Pang has new friends, he has no use for me anymore, I don’t need him either, I find new friends, Pang suddenly joins in, everything goes haywire, my anger and frustration towards him explodes, and he just ignores what I’m feeling and tells me that I’m wrong and that I’m an asshole. Like I did something wrong, and he’s perfectly innocent. Lmao Nac is salty af. And he has a good reason to be. Pang doesn’t understand Nac’s thinking, and on top of that, he makes almost no effort to understand. His beliefs blind him into thinking he’s done no wrong.

Now lets talk about his actual potential, and how it affects him. His ego and self esteem rises, but Pang doesn’t notice it. It’s explained in the end of season 1 that the reason Pang lost is because he wanted to do everything on his own because he thought that only he was able to defeat the director. His ideals and his ego are very closely connected. Pang teams up with Wave because he thinks that Wave will be the most useful to stop Director Supot. Now, I don’t think Pang doesn’t care about his friends, but his actions are neglectful. When Pang teams up with Wave, he tells none of his other friends about what he’s doing. He doesn’t tell Namtaan or Ohm, literally his two closest friends, and convinces himself that he’s doing it to protect them. News flash, he isn’t. He’s trying to be a hero. His ego rapidly increasing might be because of how he was constantly ridiculed when he was in classroom 8, and suddenly he gets this power that makes him “superior” to ordinary people. Another possibility is that his ego was already big, but we he only showed it/applied it when he was trying to take down Director Supot.

Now lets talk about the season 1 finale: Pang becomes aware of his ego through the director foiling his plan and humiliating him. This is a big part of his development as a character. Ofc in season 2 he still has a problem with neglecting and doing things solo, but he become a little more aware, and for 2 whole year’s he’s able to somewhat-effectively lead the gifted gang in their fight against the anti-gifted.

Characteristics and qualities in season two (up until episode 7)

Lets discuss: Ms Darin. aka ms loser. Remember in the beginning of episode 7 where he trusted her cuz of what she said and he noticed her actions (oop remember this trait from before? he’s aware of shit!), but it turned out it was all lies. He eventually got back on track after Third showed him the truth, and was smart enough not to trust Ms. Darin after that. I wanna guess that the reason he started trusting Ms. Darin so easily (other than what she said and did) is because he was in distress from failing Korn and Time. He needed some support, and he wouldn’t let his friends support him because “im a hero blah blah blah i dont wanna worry my friends they dont need to help me with my burdens cuz i can do it on my own :D” season 1 Pang type shit. Ms. Darin was an adult who seemed trustworthy enough, plus Director Supot was gone, and he was the main antagonist in season 1, so isn’t everything only gonna get better now that he’s gone? Plus when Grace said that he sounds like the adults lksdjlkjslfjjsdf THAT HIT ME.

Now I wanna talk about him with Chanon. I’m praying that Chanon is pure and not corrupted because if he is he might’ve used Pang and might do so in the future too... but let’s not focus on that. Pang finally has a mentor-figure in his life that he looks up. Someone to balance out his ego and show him that he can’t do everything on his own. yeah that’s all i have to say about that.

Punn. “You’re done, Pang.” Yeah lets talk about that because holy mcnuggets. Punn knows Pang well enough to know how intensely idealistic and passionate he is. Once the director is gone, Punn is like, bitch u got nothing else to obsess over MOVE ON. He’s basically saying Pang’s existence was so heavily tied with fixing the school system that when eveything’s fixed, he’ll be “done.” It’s similar to Five from the Umbrella Academy, where his whole life was set on fixing the apocalypse that he felt that life had no meaning without an apocalypse to prevent.

Now let’s talk about PangWave... I truly believe that Pang sees Wave as his equal, as his friend, and as a person whom he cares for deeply. His ego and idealism, topped with all the stress he’s going through (by himself), are dangerous towards his relationships. Wave feels used by Pang, and explains how Pang only comes to him when he needs his help, and avoids him when he disagrees with what Pang thinks. Pang is so fixated on his ideals and beliefs that he will do anything to make sure they become a reality. He’s obsessed, and it’s sooooo bad for his relationships with others. It shows that even on Namtaan’s bday, he can only think about “doing the right thing”, because that’s his number 1 priority. PANG JUST GIVE URSELF A BREAK PLEASE TAKE A METAL HEALTH DAY JUST SLKJFLSDKJJD MEDITATE OR SMTH.

I could type for several hours longer but I think this is enough word vomit for this post.

Summary

- VERY IDEALISTIC !!!! TO A FAULT

- He has somewhat of an inflated ego, but uses his ideals and beliefs to cover it up and convince himself that he is a “good person”

- He overworks his brain by never thinking of himself or other people’s emotions and focuses on his idealistic goals and his idealistic goals ONLY.

- He’s very aware of the things’s around him, and is street smart, but he’s not as aware when it comes to other people’s feelings and thoughts.

- He cares for his friends, but his extreme idealism ends up hurting them, and in turn hurting himself and further encouraging him to self-isolate.

- Independent, but this is mostly due to him thinking that he can handle problems on his own and he doesn’t want to get others involved.

- He is becoming more aware of his wrong actions, hence him apologising to Wave about going after Korn without him, but not enough to actually prevent these wrong actions.

- didn’t talk about this much but GUILT!!! I can tell that he feels immense guilt (especially in the latest episodes) whenever one of his friends get hurt and he’s very involved in what got them hurt. However, when it comes to hurting people emotionally, his guilt is tricky to read. At least for me it is lmao. Cuz he doesn’t always fully understand his friends’ feelings because he can’t always admit that he’s done something wrong, but with the recent pangwave fight he definitely felt some type of guilt there. Or maybe it was frustration? idk skjdflajsdfl someone else step in on this one pls

- He needs rest and a mental break. And some therapy maybe? Like please can one caring adult help this poor child.

- His character is actually pretty consistent wow the writing in this show is great.

- a cute boi who needs a hug. Preferably from Wave and/or Ohm.

SO I KNOW you're not available for requests but I got an idea that I'll forget later. SO Chrono's S/O lives in the Hassaikai base with him while the whole raid is going down. Before it went down he told her to leave but wouldn't tell her why (may or may not know about Eri 🤷). Later she finds him while he's holding Aizawa captive and they have an argument over what's going on and she wants him to leave with her but Hari refuses cause he's waiting for Kai. Ending can be however you want it. 😁

"What the FUCK you're doing with him Hari?!" You exclaimed as soon as you saw the horrific scene in front of you.

Your boyfriend just was immobilized the pro hero know as Easerhead and aparently for the guy's condition he had been a victim of the quirk of Hari, Chronostasis.

"(Y/N)?" He said in shock but still didn't moved away, just merely looked at your direction. "What part of 'get out of here before the heroes come' you didn't understood?!"

"You really thought I was going to leave you like that?! Hari you have been acting weird enough during these past few months, and do not even dare to tell me is nothing because look around!" You showed with your palm the room that you three were and shortly after up above where all the disgrace was happening.

"I really wanted to explain to you, but this isn't exactly a good hour!"

"So when it will be?!" You two looked up at hearing a more sounds and beatings up above, parts of the concrete falling even on your heads and the floor "Kurono Hari you better explain this, NOW!"

"Kai had found a way to take the yakusa from the shadows, but the method wasn't exactly one of the best and human ways possible." He said the last sentence in a wince and you furrowed your eyebrows.

"The hell does that mean?!"

"Dammit." He saw a part of the upper floor almost falling in your head "(Y/N)! MOVE!"

You looked up and yelped before jumping out of the way of the falling concrete and got close to Kurono.

"Kurono let him go! This is madness!" You grabbed on his arm but he didn't dare to move one muscle.

"I can't, Kai is up there and if I release him-" you two looked up and you returned your gaze with rage at your boyfriend.

"He is the one responsible for this! Hari for God's sake, look around! Whatever it was his fucked up plan IT DIDN'T WORK OR WILL!"

He looked with serious eyes at Eraserhead before grabbing his knife.

"KURONO!" you shouted and grabbed his wrist to prevent any actions he would possibly regret "KURONO STOP THIS! PLEASE!"

"If his plan failed then we need to get rid of-" he stopped immediately struggling when he saw your eyes full with tears as you holded on his wrists for dear life to spare the life of the 30 aged man underneath him.

"Hari please! You aren't like this!" You sobbed and he felt his heart twist in a painful way before the door burst open, the new pro hero Suneater with some officers on the other side.

He clenched his jaw but also knew he couldn't do anything... Kai had lost.

The police and heroes had hand cuffed him without any struggle and you were still trying to make them stop this time.

"Please sir let me at least talk! Asides from the incident with Eraserhead he done nothing wrong-!"

"Miss." Fatgum appeared and placed his hand on your shoulder "You really don't know what just happened in here?"

You looked at Hari who only had his head down... you couldn't tell if it was for shame or to mask his frustation. You shaked your head in response for the pro hero.

"Then I take that we own you explanations..." he said sweetly as he mentioned for you to follow him.

"W-wait! What about my... my boyfriend?" You looked at Hari again, this time his grey eyes made contact with yours as he was pushed by an officer... grey eyes and with only sorrow as he looked at you.

"That man is your partner? Geez..." he rubbed the back of his neck uncomfortably while wincing "Is going to be a long talk then..."

Hari... what did you do..?

"... I'm sorry." He said nonchantly bit not even daring to met your eyes as his head hung low.

It was true... he helped Overhaul Chisaki to make inhuman experiments on a little girl of seven years old.. only to make some fucked up drug that could erase quirks and possibly make the yakusa come back from the shadows...

Not only that but the girl was Eri. The granddaughter of the headmaster of the Shie Hassaikai. You even saw the girl as a baby once, how could Hari do this? And have the audacity of hidding it from you no less?

"What you did was unforgivable Kurono." You said in venom, noticing how his muscles had tensed at hearing your voice "Dont you ever fucking studied human rights?... when were you planning to tell me this?"

It was silence for a bit in his cell, he gripped on his uniform pants a bit before he released a puff of air.

"Not... soon. When Kai told Pops about it the headmaster just got terrified and... I wasn't sure if you would... crap." He sighed in desperation while you crossed your arms.

"... I know he was your childhood friend. But you never once was the type of simply lowering your head down like that without a single question, and judging with that, you didn't even saw a damn problem on him using Eri as an experiment did you? She is a child Hari." You hitted your hands on the table, not even amused that he flinched "A child that is mostly going to be traumatized for her whole life because of yours and Chisaki's actions! Happy now?!"

He took a breath and looked at your eyes with a frow... a defeated and regretful look that was so abnormal of your acid sarcastic boyfriend.

"At first it was to bring back the yakusa to their glory days... the plan seemed without failure but... I know it was.. fucked up."

"Only fucked up?!" You exclaimed while he stayed silent, you huffed a puff of sir and got your things before getting up.

"... you're not coming back, right?" You stopped at the white haired man words, the voice was so weak... it seemed like he was a abandoned puppy whose was begging for someone to give a bit of attention.

"... I need to think." You knocked on the cell's door, alarming the guard tagt you were getting out even before the time went off.

"I don't blame you.. I deserve it..."

"... bye Kurono."

And with that you left... left him on that cold cell with nothing but sorrow and pain to carry on his heart. He had betrayed your trust in Hope's to get the organization back to their glory days... but he only got his days counted on a jail and his lover to simply... vanish from his life like that.

He never once once was an pessimist, he was more like a realistic person.... but this time, his only thoughts stuck that this was his last time seing his starlight...

Okay, I know this was angsty but... Aizawa be like: "fucking young adults let me out and set up your bullshot romance LATER"

Mindset Many of us have dreams, fantasies etc. What we would like to be but to go from dream to goals to achievements for ths we need discipline, patience and perserverance. Sadly this is easier said then done. In this post I want ot give you some tips how to achieve this.

Break free from bad habbits

1. Focus on progress not on fantasies Often it happens that we loose ourselfs in our fantasies and maybe goon/edge away our time. This prevents us from any progress we could maybe have. Instead we could have used this precious time to try achieve our goals. As long we stay in this unproductive cicle we can’t achieve anything. The probmem is that serving, chatting, gooining, edging is highly addictive and gives us close to the same dopamin (pleasure hormones) output in our brain as if we would do it for real. This is the reason we can get addicted to porn, youtube etc. But at the end this all lets us not progress and therefore in the end we are left with frustration like after sugery food that gives us a rush but after a short time we feel bad and still hungry.

So what we need to do is to break free from this cicle.

So how we do this?

We need to aks ourself contantly during the day - every 15min!!!: “Do I wast my time or am I working on my goals?”

It is important to do this every 15min - time your mobile. Why? Cause this question will seep in our conscious. Why is this important?

It breaks us out of the endorphin cicle we are stuck in by beeing conscious about it. It will not end this cycle but it give us a chance to start changing it. We stop doing unhealthy habbits unconsciously by making us more and more conscious when we do a bad deciscion this opens a window for us to change our behaviour.

2. What to do next? Now we need to follow this up with our next mantra. “What do I really want to do? Wast my time or work on my goals?” Now the answer you need also to repeat with the question. “I will work on my goal cause only this will give me happiness and long term satisfaction and I have the right for my own happiness and I wont go back to the endorphin addiction”

it is really important to do both so we can block the cycle - Dont feel ashamed if you fail but try to work on it.

Now we come to the next step and this is a bit difficult and needs a bit a deeper understanding.

First it is to understand that when we have been used to waste our time away we are no longer used to focuse on staying on a subject or work on it and push through even if we progress only slowely. Our brain is addicted to instant gratification.

So what happens when we decide with step 2 now to work on our goals? Our brain goes into cold turkey - it is like a drug addict and wants to go back to wasting our time with instant gratification. So after step 2 we will feel irritated, dont seem to know how to start and crave to just go back to our old bad habbits?

Now we need need to block this instantly with our new mantra. I am strong. I wont let my body dictate me what to do. I know it is addicted to stuff that is bad for me. But my mind is stronger and I embrace that it will feel triesome, boring, and exhausting to work on my goal. But even if I don’t know where to start. I will take my step to build my own happiness and not the easy way out my body wants to do.

Now here we need to do a trick. We are allowed in this moment to do only two things. Nothing or work on our goals and with nothing I mean nothing. No music, no radio, not reading something, no eating no drinkin and not laying down, you can walk around or sit or working on your goals. (do this without compurter or handy - write something down - no painting or doodeling).

This way we teach our body that we no longer give in to his addiction. It might take us 1-2 weeks till we start to get productive this is the detox phase to get ridd of our endorphin addiction.

As soon we no longer want to drop back into the old routine we can start to do planning.

For this we come to our next step

Realistic goals that fit into our life. We might want to become a bimbo sexdoll full femmed and get fucked daily. If your wish is only to embrace more your feminine side that is fine too. But for many of us both might be difficult to achieve of which the first is the most difficult one but both have their struggles.

Now to help you I build my tips on the worst case scenario. Why? Cause if this works in this situation it will work for the easier way anyway.

So what is the worst case situation: a) You constantly crave the extrem version - wanting to become a complete femmed bimbo. b) you have family, children, friends, social contacts and a job where everybody is conservative in their mindset and to life out only a bit would be shamed and has extrem consequences. c) many of the contacts and aspects of b) we dont want to loose especially not wife and children and job cause of responsability.

So how do we find a way out of this situation. Where we can explore our feelings dont threaten the things we want to keep but still become happy.

So how do we achieve this. 1. We need to be patient and also we need to keep our desires better under control. Cause if the desires overboard without us having a chance to channel it in a healthy progress we might lose that what we dont want to lose.

How do we do this? 1. Understand that this is as a marathon not a sprint be patience. If you see it as this you also with the breaking the endorphin circle will help you to normalise your desires which let’s you breath again to refocuse. A good suggestion for this is how to handle porn.

Stop edging: if you want to watch porn - find the first thing you more or less like - wank off ot it and thats the end. This will give you freedom to focuse again.

2. Now you are more focused by not let your desires drive you. You should implement progress that dont threaten what you want to lose. Don’t dress, or buying stuff. Now you might say on what to focuse then.

Piece By Piece- (Rob Benedict x Reader) PART 3

Chapter 2

A/N: This may seem like the last chapter but I swear it isn't.

Summary: Reader is a teenage actress on Supernatural, and at 15 years old her abusive parents kick her out of the house because they disapprove of her career. After an emotional breakdown at the latest convention, Rob takes her in.

“So, what’s going to happen to her now?” asked Rob, sitting at his kitchen table across from the social worker that had arrived at his house.

It had been about a week and a half since Rob had told Y/N she was staying at his house, and he had finally been able to get a social worker to investigate. Living with Rob was actually pretty easy. Since she had been kicked out with only a duffle bag, Rob had been giving her old clothes she could wear until further notice.

Luckily, he was the taller one.

But really, it was really easy. Y/N helped out as much as she could, always making sure to clean up after herself if it was needed, always making sure to pay for her expenses if she could. But even then, Rob never asked for a dime of money.

He also had no issues what so ever it seemed with waking up at seven in the morning to take her to school. They had discovered Rob only lived a twenty-minute car ride away.

For what seemed like the first time in Y/N’s life, everything seemed to be going fine.

“Well, after one visit to her home, I can tell by just the outside that it’s not stable for a teenage girl to live there.” said the social worker, making some last-minute adjustments to the statement Rob had given her.

“What do you mean?” asked Rob.

“There was a decent size hole in the roof right above where Y/N’s room would be.” Rob’s eyes went wide, not expecting that answer at all.

“Her parents made it clear that she wasn’t welcome back in the house, however. As a minor, she’ll be awarded into custody of the state. Y/N will be placed in one of the foster homes.”

“Wait, what? There’s nowhere else she can go?” asked Rob.

“There are no local family members we could find, and the only living family member we could find was a grandma living in an old folk’s home across the country. She’s in no state to care for a fifteen-year-old.” said the social worker.

“What about her job on the show? Her job at conventions? Her school?”

“She’ll most likely have to leave it, the foster house would be required to house and feed her. Nothing says they should have to pay for flights and things like that.”

“How was she paying for them before?”

“Apparently that’s part of the reason why her parents had kicked her out. They refused to keep paying for them once they found out what exactly they were paying for.” said the social worker. He closed up his notebook, packing them into his briefcase.

“School?” asked Rob. This was getting worse and worse as he listened on.

“We’ll always do our best to find her a foster family that lives in the same district, but again. It’s no guarantee.”

Rob frowned, defiantly not liking the answers that he was getting from the social worker sitting in front of him.

He had known Y/N for almost two years, and she was a fantastic kid. She was so smart, smarter than Rob in some categories, he had to admit.

He was never so good at math, and after watching her do homework backstage at conventions for the past year, she was a whole lot better.

She was polite, always did what was asked for her, sometimes even more. For the week and a half she had lived with him he didn’t have one complaint to give. He knew she deserved better than being forced to uproot her entire life at such a young age.

Especially since he knew he was fully capable of preventing it.

Suddenly, a knock came on Rob’s apartment door. He looked down at his watch, realizing it was 4:07. Y/N had sworn she had a ride for when school ended, but Rob had just now realized he had forgotten to give her a key.

“Coming!” yelled Rob, racing to the door to let his new-found roommate in.

Well…

“Hey.” I said as Rob opened the door. I looked forward, seeing the man in the business suit standing up from the kitchen table.

“Oh, hello.” I said.

“Hello, Y/N. Nice to meet you.”

“I’m assuming you’re the social worker Rob told me he was going to call?” I asked. I set my bag down on the floor, but I left my shoes on. If this goes how it usually goes, I wasn’t staying here for much longer.

“So, let’s just get right to it, what’s happening to me now?”

“Well, I took a visit to your parents, and the department has concluded that it’s not a safe environment for you to be staying in. Thank god Mr. Benedict here realized there was something wrong when he did. You’ll be taken into custody of the state, and be placed into a foster home.” I nodded, picking my bag back up.

“Wait.” said Rob suddenly, holding his hand up before me and the social worker could even move an inch.

“Can she stay with me? I am more than willing than to petition for legal guardianship.” said Rob, no hesitation present in his voice what so ever.

“Rob what are-.” the social worker cut me off.

“Well, you would need to petition the court for guardianship, fill out the appropriate forms, alert her parents, and go through a trial run. You’d be given a month before an agent would come out here and check on everything going on.”

“Tell me how to get those forms and it’s done.” said Rob. My eyes went wide and my jaw dropped in shock. Rob offering to let me stay with him permanently was defiantly something I did not see coming.

“Also, considering she’s over 14, you need consent from Y/N.” said the social worker, turning to me.

I stood there in silence, still a little dumbfounded.

“I’m sorry, I’m- I’m just a little shocked that this is happening.”

“Is that a yes?” asked Rob.

I looked at the man in front of me.

Rob Benedict was without a doubt the best human being I have ever met. I didn’t want to burden him, it was the thought that was pounding at me in the back of my mind. But I looked up at him, seeing something in his eyes I’d never seen before when I looked at my own father.

He cared.

“Yeah,” I said, nodding rather quickly, “yeah of course I give consent.”

“Well it’s settled then. I’ll have the papers dropped by within the week Mr. Benedict.” said the social worker, shaking Rob’s hand before turning, leaving the apartment.

The second the door closed I turned back to Rob.

“Rob, I, for the love of god Rob you don’t have to do this. I, I don’t want to burden you more than I already have. You’ve done, you’ve done so much for me already by just being my friend.”

“Hey, Y/N. Look at me, you’re not a burden. I’ve known you for nearly two years, you’re a joy to be around. You’re a good kid, and you deserve better than you having to uproot your life. You deserve better than having your dad leave you behind, I wouldn’t wish that feeling upon my worst enemy.”

I nodded, making the connection immediately.

“But you know everything that’s wrong with me Rob; the nightmares, you’ve witnessed first-hand my anxiety…”

“I don’t care.”

“Do you realize the expenses of housing a teenager for what, the next three years?” I asked. I was gonna be flat out realistic.

“Hey, I’ve been on my own for who knows how long. I have plenty of money put away, enough for me and you together. Plus, I gotta admit, I like taking care of someone else.”

“I-Rob, I just, I don’t know what…”

Rob sighed, walking towards me, placing both his hands on my shoulders. He could tell I still wasn’t totally believing everything that was going on.

“Y/N, your dad quite literally kicked you out of your house. I can see he broke that soul of yours into a million different pieces. If you let me, I will try my damn hardest to help put those pieces back together.”

I smiled, a tear escaping my eye as I immediately wrapped my arms around him, Rob’s shirt getting wet as the tears kept going.

But it was okay, because Rob knew they were tears of happiness.

And it was okay, because maybe I finally had found a home.

what makes Azula your favorite?

I’m just going to this as an opportunity to go in-depth about Azula’s character, in hopes that you will understand why I like her so much for her complexity and depth…

Okay, well, I’m just first going to establish her base personality.

Azula’s personality is all about control. She’s a great villain, and an even more dangerous leader at aged 14. That’s precisely because of her establishing control in every situation she’s in. She establishes her control in almost every situation, and we only see her lose control of the situation three times.

Namely in The Chase when she was cornered by Sokka, Katara, Aang, Toph, Zuko, and Uncle Iroh. And in this situation, she chose the bitch way out. Basically, she lost control of the situation and her first impulse was to escape this situation. Basically, her bitch way out was to attack one of them directly to distract the group so she can escape.

The next time we see her lose control was in Ba Sing Se, Crossroads of Destiny. Now, this is one of my favorite episodes. She was losing control of the situation when she was against Katara and Aang. Now, had Zuko not stepped in, she would have lost. Even after Zuko stepped in, she was still losing control with Katara. Katara had the upperhand again, had Zuko not stepped in she would have lost yet again.

The last time we lost her lose contol was of course, in Sozin’s Comet. She starts losing control of herself, not the situation. This whole losing control of herself took her whole character into a whole new route. It basically gave her so much depth, and because of that it caused people to question her whole character than answer it.

She establishes control and dominance in every situation she’s in. That much is visible in almost her every scene, but the most notable one for me would be when she was in Ba Sing Se taking it down. You see that when she got the opportunity to control the whole city, she took it. Long Feng and her are very similar. They both are less on the fighting, more on the manipulation but both are actually kick ass when it comes to fighting also. Basically, Long Feng starts out as a normal kid, growing in the Middle Ring of Ba Sing Se who had to crawl his way into power, until he became the Grand Secretariat of Ba Sing Se in which he took control of the whole city. The whole city doesn’t even know about the war, and he has control over the Dai Li agents. So much can be said about Long Feng’s ability to control situations… However, Azula’s control was JUST so much more. Long Feng achieved everything in years and years whereas Azula took over the whole city in less than a week!Now, she established her control and dominance in her interactions with Long Feng at the throne room. Where she said “don’t flatter yourself, you were never even a player.”

Now, onto her friends, and how she establishes control over them. Basically, she uses fear and manipulation. Not much can be said about Mai because she doesn’t exactly suck up to Azula, and went with her just because she was bored. Now… As for Ty Lee, that’s where Azula’s manipulation and fear is really visible. She uses fear to manipulate Ty Lee into joining her, and Ty Lee is obviously scared of her and is always trying to get into her good side by always sucking up to her. Although her friendship with them was not fake, it was based on sheer manipulation.

The next thing about her control is her fire as I’ve discussed in another ask. But I’ll discuss it here briefly. Basically, she has so much control over her fire that she can control its intensity while still bending it like the normal yellow-orange fire.

Second, I’m going to compare her to Zuko. Since Zuko was first introduced, we already know much about him. We already know that all his life, he’s had to struggle and that Azula didn’t(totally not true, and ill discuss that issue later), and basically we start seeing from Zuko’s perspective because he talked about her, and basically gave us the idea of how she was a person.

“And Zuko is her brother, they basically grew up the same, right? So, then, how did two siblings grow up to be so different?” that question is what first intrigued me about Azula. I wanted to understand her as a character, as a person.Mainly in Book 2, we see her from his perspective. But we first saw her from his perspective in Siege of the North. In Zuko Alone, we saw the whole episode was about Zuko. We basically see that Azula as a child has always been kind of a bully of some sort to Zuko. She always lies, she always is mischievious. But then, we also see that Ursa didn’t treat them the same way. Ozai also didn’t treat them the same way. So, we kind of see how these two diverge from each other.

As for why I think Azula turned out that… I think it’s mainly because of Ozai and Ursa. She has severe issues with both her parents, but she only seems to acknowledge her issue with Ursa. It’s established that Ursa favored Zuko, Ozai favored Azula. And, that took a toll on both of them.

Keep in mind that as kids you look up to your parent of the same sex. So, for Azula not being accepted by her mother messed her up. The same thing happened to Zuko, it literally fucked him up. The way Ursa treated Azula messed her up so bad, and she was only able to get her father’s acceptance got her to act as the Fire Nation’s heir to the throne. Personally, I think that because of Ursa not treating her as the “fire nation princess,” descriminated her, picked favorites… Then it got instilled in Azula’s mind that “ALRIGHT I am going to BE the Fire Nation’s heir. I AM GOING TO OUTDO ZUKO”

Another cause for this would of course be her father, Ozai. Ozai was an abusive father to both of them. It’s definitely not true that because Azula was favored that she had it easier than Zuko. In fact, to some degree, she had it worse. Being Ozai’s favorite prevented her from being with her mom. It prevented her relationship with her mom so much, that’s mainly why Ursa didn’t agree with Azula all the time. It’s because of all the ideas that Ozai instilled in her head.

So, basically, it’s Ozai who’s more at fault about Azula’s traumatic childhood, although Ursa is still to blame. They both were very shitty parents, but Zuko and Azula had different versions of the same parents. However, when Ursa left, Zuko and Azula were left motherless but Zuko still had Iroh whereas Azula completely lost the good influence in her life. Even then, Ursa wasn’t even a good influence to Azula in the first place, but she could’ve done something for her. I believe that in The Search Ursa realizes that Ozai raised Azula not as a daughter but like.. A basic henchwoman who he could send out to do the things he didn’t want to do and he had complete control of because she was his daughter. Anyways, Ozai didn’t teach her the normal things at all, how to make friends, and how to react to things.

And basically, the biggest factor that caused her fall was Ty Lee and Mai’s “betrayal” which is really more like them realizing her faults more than “betrayal.” But I suppose that their friendship really was real, but as soon as Ozai really took control of Azula, that’s when their friendship changed. I guess it turned more into like Azula being more controlling and using them like soldiers where they had to be loyal to her or else. Basically, Azula treats them like tools she could use, and that’s what she learnt from her father because her father treats her the same way. But the real cause of her spiral was that she couldn’t exactly understand that there’s anything more powerful than fears. Azula has always manipulated them by playing on their fears, and it has worked so well. And since she’s never exactly been showed love, she couldn’t understand why Mai would do that so she couldn’t react properly. I mean, I said a few paragraphs ago that Ty Lee sucks up to Azula, but you can see that it’s genuine admiration, but Ty Lee at that moment kind of realizes that Azula isn’t being friend to her. So, this is such a big moment for Azula because she lost her control over both of them. Like, they’ve been her friends her whole life, and she couldn’t do anything about it. There was nothing more powerful than what they felt at that moment, and Azula couldn’t exactly understand that.

Then, there’s Zuko who’s getting more and more powerful, and he’s not backing down anymore. So I guess that’s when Azula started losing it more and more just because one thing went out of control.

Because yes, Azula does have a great ability to contol people, but she doesn’t know how to adapt to situations when she’s lost control because she lacks the other factors needed.

The factors she lacked were shown in The Beach. (I’ve already talked about this episode but I guess i’ll give an overview of my whole viewpoint of it)Anyways, in here, it’s given so much emphasis that she does not know how to be proper friends with people, she only knows how to manipulate them, how to control them. And you can see that she TRIES so hard, but it’s totally out of her control and she doesn’t know how to adapt to it at all. And that episode was not filler at all because you get the hint that there really is more there than Azula the villain when they’re all around the campfire, talking about their own issues. But Azula accidentally blurts out her own issues.. But shrugs it off, saying “oh but i dont really care lol” but she does. And I guess this is foreshadowing her downfall, wherein her mother’s hallucination kinda of pushed her more out of control because she doesn’t know how to deal with situations out of her control, so she went bonkers over it in the finale.

tl;dr her character kinda had the most realistic downfall of any other villain, and at age 14 she was a remarkable character with so much depth and complexity. her introduction was very very intriguing and so it kinda made me so interested in her that it made me ask complicated questions like “how did her and zuko turn out so differently”, “why was she like that” and many many other questions which i chose to answer as i was watching the whole show. Analyzing and reading her was the best experience. I could go on and on about her characteristic being so intelligent and militaristic and always being the better child blah blah but that would just drag this already really really long post

Anyways, thank you, anon for giving me a reason to discuss Azula’s character because everything about her makes her my favorite!

If everybody has insurance then insurance companies will dictate to Docs what they can and cannot do as they do if Docs participate in HMO and even some PPO programs. The idea that we MUST purchase a product, doesn't that bother you? Today it's health insurance. Tomorrow maybe it's socks. How can the Gov FORCE you to buy anything? I just have 2 questions. 1- Im planning to get a 1991 Nissan 300zx, there's a 2 seater-2door and a 4 seater- 2 door version of this car. Planning to get the 4 seater, and from what I've heard, insurance will be a tad bit cheaper with the 4 seater, is this true ? And for the more important question - Im underage obviously, so I have to go under my parents for insurance. Thing is, my dad has a HORRIBLE driving record, 1 accident that was his fault and a heaping amount of tickets. And my parents' insurance has gone up from that..
