Green energy is in its heyday. 

Renewable energy sources now account for 22% of the nation’s electricity, and solar has skyrocketed eight times over in the last decade. This spring in California, wind, water, and solar power energy sources exceeded expectations, accounting for an average of 61.5 percent of the state's electricity demand across 52 days. 

But green energy has a lithium problem. Lithium batteries control more than 90% of the global grid battery storage market. 

That’s not just cell phones, laptops, electric toothbrushes, and tools. Scooters, e-bikes, hybrids, and electric vehicles all rely on rechargeable lithium batteries to get going. 

Fortunately, this past week, Natron Energy launched its first-ever commercial-scale production of sodium-ion batteries in the U.S. 

“Sodium-ion batteries offer a unique alternative to lithium-ion, with higher power, faster recharge, longer lifecycle and a completely safe and stable chemistry,” said Colin Wessells — Natron Founder and Co-CEO — at the kick-off event in Michigan. 

The new sodium-ion batteries charge and discharge at rates 10 times faster than lithium-ion, with an estimated lifespan of 50,000 cycles.

Wessells said that using sodium as a primary mineral alternative eliminates industry-wide issues of worker negligence, geopolitical disruption, and the “questionable environmental impacts” inextricably linked to lithium mining. 

“The electrification of our economy is dependent on the development and production of new, innovative energy storage solutions,” Wessells said. 

Why are sodium batteries a better alternative to lithium?

The birth and death cycle of lithium is shadowed in environmental destruction. The process of extracting lithium pollutes the water, air, and soil, and when it’s eventually discarded, the flammable batteries are prone to bursting into flames and burning out in landfills. 

There’s also a human cost. Lithium-ion materials like cobalt and nickel are not only harder to source and procure, but their supply chains are also overwhelmingly attributed to hazardous working conditions and child labor law violations. 

Sodium, on the other hand, is estimated to be 1,000 times more abundant in the earth’s crust than lithium. 

“Unlike lithium, sodium can be produced from an abundant material: salt,” engineer Casey Crownhart wrote ​​in the MIT Technology Review. “Because the raw ingredients are cheap and widely available, there’s potential for sodium-ion batteries to be significantly less expensive than their lithium-ion counterparts if more companies start making more of them.”

What will these batteries be used for?

Right now, Natron has its focus set on AI models and data storage centers, which consume hefty amounts of energy. In 2023, the MIT Technology Review reported that one AI model can emit more than 626,00 pounds of carbon dioxide equivalent. 

“We expect our battery solutions will be used to power the explosive growth in data centers used for Artificial Intelligence,” said Wendell Brooks, co-CEO of Natron. 

“With the start of commercial-scale production here in Michigan, we are well-positioned to capitalize on the growing demand for efficient, safe, and reliable battery energy storage.”

The fast-charging energy alternative also has limitless potential on a consumer level, and Natron is eying telecommunications and EV fast-charging once it begins servicing AI data storage centers in June. 

On a larger scale, sodium-ion batteries could radically change the manufacturing and production sectors — from housing energy to lower electricity costs in warehouses, to charging backup stations and powering electric vehicles, trucks, forklifts, and so on. 

“I founded Natron because we saw climate change as the defining problem of our time,” Wessells said. “We believe batteries have a role to play.”

my 7 year old laptop is acting up and it’s so annoying ahhhhgghghg i don’t know if i can afford a replacement but i’m getting more and more pissed off at it. i was forced to update to the most recent software version because it no longer let me boot up minecraft, and it’s just been all downhill since then. it can barely load two chrome tabs without slowing down like shit and it’s battery is so bad. it lags when i try to draw with my tablet and now it’s refusing to let me SAVE on my drawing program. this is so frustrating. i just got the battery replaced last year because it would die at 70% battery and now it’s like reverting back to that. Inspired by this post.

So, we have Danny, who outlived his friends and family (none of them became ghosts.) is the prince of the Infinite Realms.

As soon as he didn't have any ties to the living world anymore, at the young age of 114 was Danny scooped up and taken to the ghost zone for royal tutelage.

Things like balance training, how to carry himself prim and proper, how to invoke power with his voice (not literally, mostly how to sound commanding at stuff), what he should wear, knowledge about the ghost zone etc, etc.

Although, History beyond a certain point had to be taught exclusively by Clockwork, since the only other person who could teach him about the Infinite Realms' full History would be Pariah Dark, who was the first ghost ever to have been conceived by the Realms, and no one really wanted to wake up him.

Of course, that would mean there would be a void where Clockwork can't teach, but that knowledge is.... not necessary for the young prince to learn.

[It was really just about Pariah acquiring the ring and crown, the rest is uh, cough the lovey-dovey arc of Pariah Dark and Clockwork that will stay lost to time if Clockwork has anything to say about. Look, they were babies then compared to now, no one needs to know what happened back then alright?]

So, after all this I imagine him wearing something like this, staff and all.

However, Danny has an arch-nemesis.

Dark Danny.

Who somehow managed to escape from his imprisonment and causes havoc and chaos wherever he goes. His thing to do was to escape to the living world to make it befall the same fate he caused to his own.

He, however, probably did not expect for Danny to be more experienced, and his skills more honed than 100 years ago. Not that Dark Danny knew such time had passed, as he went through the trouble of trying to locate Danny's parents, sister, and best friends to make try and set him on the path to become him.

He failed, obviously, as they were already long gone.

His next thing to do? Locate Vlad and consume his ghost half. However, Danny made it just in time before he could do so.

However, Dark Danny's sheer, raw power, still eclipsed his own. However, while his raw power may be superior, he had something that would let him reliably go head-to-head in a fight with his alternate self and not win due to being underestimated and the sudden appearance of the ghost wail.

A staff, one naturally formed when he was crowned as Prince. An artifact that granted him a boost in power, and furthered his strengths regarding magic, giving him a roughly equal playing field when he confronts Dan.

It by itself may have only been equal to that of the Ring of Rage or Crown of Fire individually, but the fact it could compare to either one when not paired together spoke well of its power.

Dark Danny was, obviously, not expecting him to be as well-equipped and powerful as he was now. So, he underestimated him yet again, and almost led to his defeat and subsequent containment. However, Danny didn't expect for him to escape as he did, and run into another dimension.

Danny, both as himself and Prince of the Ghost Zone, has the responsibility to go after his evil self. So, he entered the portal, with some equipment made by Vlad as both a thanks and silent 'Find him as quickly as possible', which was a device meant to track Dark Danny's energy whenever he uses a good amount of it.

He... didn't expect, to land in a dimension of Superheroes and Villains.

However, he could let such things distract him from the task at hand, Dark Danny was surprisingly laying low for some reason. Probably to recuperate the damage Danny managed to do to him, so that left him a while to get familiar enough with this dimension.

He got a few odd looks here and there, mostly due to how he was dressed. He was worried about it for a while, before overhearing others calling him a cosplayer and him, suddenly remembering that those do indeed exist, decides to use that as a cover for how he dresses.

A month later, still with no sign of his alternate self, and making Danny worry about if he wasn't in this dimension at all. The device finally picked up Dark Danny's signature, and he hurried to said location, when he arrived, the place was not in the best of shape.

Upturned cars, broken buildings, rubble on the street, fire here and there. Not the best welcome party.

There were multiple other villains than just his future self there, but he didn't put them in mind. He was here for one, and one alone.

A few members of what he believes to be Young Justice took to fighting his alternate self, while other members of their team and the Justice League fight the other villains. He saw what could only be the start of a ghost wail, and hurried over.

In front of them, he slammed the butt of his staff on the ground and conjured a shield, which took the entirety of the attack with a few cracks.

"Still as strong as ever, I see." Danny said, lowering the shield as his twin rings run up and down his body respectively, hair turning a white glow and eyes as green as toxic waste. He raised his staff, pointing it at his future self, who looked none too pleased to see him at all. "Now then, shall we continue our fight you so rudely left unfinished?"

Of course, Danny no longer had the card of underestimation, but he could do well without it. Unfortunately, after quite the battle, Dark Danny managed to escape once again, due to some kind of teleport spell of another magic user.

Danny didn't escape unscathed from the fight, but nothing that couldn't be healed in time.

Of course, then he had to interact with both the Justice League, and Young Justice after his sudden introduction.

Scientists have developed a new solar-powered system to convert saltwater into fresh drinking water which they say could help reduce dangerous the risk of waterborne diseases like cholera.

Via tests in rural communities, they showed that the process is more than 20% cheaper than traditional methods and can be deployed in rural locations around the globe.

Building on existing processes that convert saline groundwater to freshwater, the researchers from King’s College London, in collaboration with MIT and the Helmholtz Institute for Renewable Energy Systems, created a new system that produced consistent levels of water using solar power, and reported it in a paper published recently in Nature Water.

It works through a process called electrodialysis which separates the salt using a set of specialized membranes that channel salt ions into a stream of brine, leaving the water fresh and drinkable. By flexibly adjusting the voltage and the rate at which salt water flowed through the system, the researchers developed a system that adjusts to variable sunshine while not compromising on the amount of fresh drinking water produced.

Using data first gathered in the village of Chelleru near Hyderabad in India, and then recreating these conditions of the village in New Mexico, the team successfully converted up to 10 cubic meters, or several bathtubs worth of fresh drinking water. This was enough for 3,000 people a day with the process continuing to run regardless of variable solar power caused by cloud coverage and rain.

Dr. Wei He from the Department of Engineering at King’s College London believes the new technology could bring massive benefits to rural communities, not only increasing the supply of drinking water but also bringing health benefits.

“By offering a cheap, eco-friendly alternative that can be operated off the grid, our technology enables communities to tap into alternative water sources (such as deep aquifers or saline water) to address water scarcity and contamination in traditional water supplies,” said He.

“This technology can expand water sources available to communities beyond traditional ones and by providing water from uncontaminated saline sources, may help combat water scarcity or unexpected emergencies when conventional water supplies are disrupted, for example like the recent cholera outbreaks in Zambia.”

In the global rural population, 1.6 billion people face water scarcity, many of whom are reliant on stressed reserves of groundwater lying beneath the Earth’s surface.

However, worldwide 56% of groundwater is saline and unsuitable for consumption. This issue is particularly prevalent in India, where 60% of the land harbors undrinkable saline water. Consequently, there is a pressing need for efficient desalination methods to create fresh drinking water cheaply, and at scale.

Traditional desalination technology has relied either on costly batteries in off-grid systems or a grid system to supply the energy necessary to remove salt from the water. In developing countries’ rural areas, however, grid infrastructure can be unreliable and is largely reliant on fossil fuels...

“By removing the need for a grid system entirely and cutting reliance on battery tech by 92%, our system can provide reliable access to safe drinking water, entirely emission-free, onsite, and at a discount of roughly 22% to the people who need it compared to traditional methods,” He said.

The system also has the potential to be used outside of developing areas, particularly in agriculture where climate change is leading to unstable reserves of fresh water for irrigation.

The team plans to scale up the availability of the technology across India through collaboration with local partners. Beyond this, a team from MIT also plans to create a start-up to commercialize and fund the technology.

“While the US and UK have more stable, diversified grids than most countries, they still rely on fossil fuels. By removing fossil fuels from the equation for energy-hungry sectors like agriculture, we can help accelerate the transition to Net Zero,” He said.

How much of the recent advances in AI are due to hardware advances? Like, if you sent the code for KataGo back in time, what is the earliest time at which it would have been practical to train it up to superhuman levels?

This is like looking at a gasoline-powered car in motion, and asking "how much of this motion is due to crude oil drilling?"

In one sense, all of it is. If you took everything else -- oil refineries, the car's engine, etc. -- and sent it to an alternate world with less oil, that world would be able to generate correspondingly less car-motion. And in a world with zero oil, you'd get zero car-motion, even with all the other stuff in place.

The oil, and the energy in it, is a necessary condition. All the other stuff merely exists in order to harness the oil's energy, and to do so as efficiently, conveniently, reliably (etc.) as possible.

On the other hand, if you only had crude oil and nothing else, that wouldn't make a car move. By itself, crude oil just sits there.

If we compare two different machine learning architectures that try to accomplish the same task, the most important difference is usually in how efficiently they transform raw computing power into results. Because computers are always getting faster, software that benefits more from added computing power will eventually pull ahead of the competition, and this "eventually" is pretty fast in practice.

So, software improvements are really about hardware improvements; what makes one piece of software better than another is how it reacts to hardware progress. The two factors are complementary, and overall progress can't be broken down additively into X% hardware, (100-X)% other things.

That said, yes, all recent AI progress is completely dependent on hardware advances. If computing hardware had been stagnant for the last 10 or even 5 years, the field would look totally different, and much less impressive.

Re-establishing Baseline Plan

Since moving, I've (completely understandably and expectedly) had my baseline kinda fucked (did not help by with financial stress + job incompatibility + ear infection + really bad post ear infection cold + probable norovirus in literally one month) and so I've been really overloaded, stressed, and just in a place of mostly survival mode where most of my energy is focused on maintaining my mental and physical state in the easiest manners possible

I have been holding up well all things considered and have set up for a probably more compatible job + my fiance has managed to get a job again that he feels will probably work out well for him and I have at least like a week off between jobs to reorientate myself

So to take a good and active effort to make the best of this time, I want to make a plan to set myself up for success. I actually do this every so often when I really need to pick myself up (historically Lucille would usually do it but pros of being basically fully integrated is that I am Lucille as well as me) and I figured it would be a neat thing to display and demonstrate here cause I'd end up making it *anyways* so why not share with the class

Question One: What current coping skills and hobbies am I currently doing and trying with my time? Are they affective and would I like to change them?

Art, Drawing, Character Design, Art Fight Prep, Story Planning and Writing

This is one of the easiest and most reliable positive coping mechanisms and has gotten me through the majority of the month mostly on it's own. Compared to other coping mechanisms, this one is almost always something I can drag myself to do or at least ask someone to supervise me to make sure I do it when I feel I need some sort of self care. It serves greatly as an alternative when I find that I am doing maladaptive coping that I would rather not do and when in doubt, it has access to some level of social engagement should I feel I need that. With that being said, having relied largely on this for a month, this is suffering diminishing returns and starting to lead to general lack of inspiration and so diversification from this coping mechanism would be ideal

Weekend Gym Trips

This is actually a really good way for me to release energy, give myself space and time to think, and just feel better moving and existing in my body. It also mandates time for me to listen to music and serves a meditative purpose. That said, I have only been doing this on Saturdays and only once on Sunday and I would like to expand that to be at least 3 times a week or at least more spaced out.

Reading Semi Regularly

This is a new habit and coping I picked up and its actually really good! It provides a unique sense of calm when I need it. Unfortunately I've started to drop off the past week due to general stress and illness, so I think its important to return to this. Perhaps set a general goal of "every other day" rather than every day to lessen the pressure.

Video Games

This was helpful but lately I have been not motivated to play anything and I believe its been burnt out. I think it would be good to resume this but it is currently impractical to force at the moment until overall wellness has returned.

TV with Boy

This is helpful but unforunately nothing seems to interest either of us to watch right now. (cri life is hard /lh)

Board Games with Boy

This is a new one and has actually been very nice. That said, it isn't always available and dependent on my fiance's ability to have the energy, time and interest to play them, particularly since I know he is less interested in board games than me. It is good to maintain the interest and offer, but not a coping skill to become reliant on.

Question Two: What sorts of things that I am currently not doing do I know tend to define behaviors, habits, hobbies, and interests that are done when I am out of survival mode and genuinely enjoying life?

Regular Birding, Particularly with Peers

Interest in watching anything on my own, youtube, TV shows, etc

Engagement in Music, Particularly my Musical Instruments

Engagement in Exploration and just independent travels without individuals

Engagement and interest in occasionally reaching out to Buddhist environments

While I am not extensively motivated in any manner to watch anything in particular, I am starting to randomly get a lot of bleach related stuff on my youtube and I have been meaning to watch TYBW arc. I have been postponing it because of arbitrary "I wanna read the manga first" and just general other excuses, but realistically those are putting up barriers that I may not get to at this rate and currently I could just use something I'm somewhat interested in to give me some independent relaxing engagement. I think I can set the goal of actually watching Bleach TYBW at least an episode a day starting either today or tomorrow and see if that can bring a momentum and habit into actually being able to watch things that interest me on my own.

Engagement in Music, Particularly my Musical Instruments

I can probably actually take my violin back out. The guitar would probably be better but for whatever reason I feel that my brain thinks that would require more - for a lack of better word - work, so I think I can at least try to find time this week to at least play a little bit of my violin.

It is dependent on if my now-ex-coworker still is interested, but I can follow up and see if we want to still play board games; if not I think potential more ways to reach out will be more viable to plan once a higher level of baseline is established; potentially see if there are any in person DnD groups around that I could make a habit of going to or any martial art dojos that we can afford

More Inspired Art

I think this is something that will come with time between lessening the burn out of my current art-as-a-coping mechanism goal as well as actually engaging in more media and independent interests as to gain more inspiration.

Sonic: Dr. Boom, a hedgehog skilled in speed and mechanics. He was actually a kid, Robotnik took under his wing. He had a natural talent for inventing and machinery, but Dr. Boom saw potential in power such as the chaos emeralds to advance the machines, Robotnik didn't approve of this answer terminated all Dr.Boom's work. Feeling betrayed, the Hedgehog ran away and turned against the world that deemed him unworthy to advance it to a era of peace and freedom.

Shadow: Nocturnal Eye, partner of Dr. Boom and Leader of the alien race: Black Arms, on the planet. He seems relatively harmless to the unsuspecting eye, but he is a master of illusion and chaos energy.

Tails: Dr. Cosmos, a fellow technician and mechanical genius who sides with Dr. Boom. His machinery is known to be quite efficient and reliable, a master of words and creating machines that act as mimics around other mobians. Truly a terrifying feat for someone of his age.

Amy: Vermillion, Teller of the Future and Leader of the "Rosebuds" a group of warriors who can see into the future and protect the present to prevent disasters from occurring.

Eggman: Ivo Robotnik, Hero of Station City and the world as a whole, uses his mechanical prowess and power of lightning to defend the innocent from the hands of Dr. Boom and other villains that follow suit. Has a short patience and can be easy to annoy with petty insults tho.

Rouge: Carmine, guardian of the Master Emerald, and last of the Bat Treasure Hunters, a tribe of bats that would hunt treasure and steal from the rich to give to the poor. Has to deal with an annoying an Echidna that is also a treasure hunter with a strange connection to the emerald and tries to take it for himself.

Knuckles: Titian, an independent echidna treasure hunter, skilled in many forms of combat and is quite a people person, he has fierce personality which causes him to bump heads alot with Carmine, all he wants is understand why he feels so drawn to the Master Emerald, sure he always takes the Chaos Emeralds but that isn't the case this time, if only he could get Carmine to believe that.

Silver: Ivory, a prince from an alternate dimension that tends to interlap with Robotnik's, when it does, he tends to stick around and offer aid where he can with the help of his powers of ice.

Blaze: Lustre, a time traveler from the distant future that is both in distress and at peace given its destroyed state, has the power of Umbrakinesis and Aerokinesis, allowing her to use wind and darkness together to create bendable space matter for combat

Metal Ivo: A robot version of Robotnik created by Dr. Boom, a silent robot but he very much as attitude towards his enemies

Infinite: Zero the Jackal, member of the Rosebuds. He is able to harness the power of the purple chaos emerald and create illusions as a distraction while he disarms his opponents. Joined the squad because he is in search of his missing partner, Gadget the Wolf, who disappeared several years ago

Me an my dad had a discussion today and I'd like to see what you think of it. What do you think is the best way of the following to help the environment?

A. Make gas way more expensive (like $10 a gallon), leading to hopefully less car use, and the extra money from gas (somehow) can be put towards other eco helping things

B. Make public transportation more prominent and more reliable (this is a is focused discussion btw)

C. Invest in alternate car fuel or create cars that run on alternate fuel (my roommate said something about cars that can run on water???)

I agree, we should cut gas subsidies and build transit, at the same time, if we only do one it won't be effective. I don't know much about alternative energy sources though

Uhm... Couldn't Bill just?..

(Season 2 Episode 20)

The metal plate isn't even in his head in this scene. Bill could just go into Ford's mind. Bill has the power to do so, why doesn't he just do it? It's literally shown right here. Bill could've just taken out the metal plate pretty easily, it's just metal. And the whole "let me enter your mind so I can figure out how to break the weirdness barrier of this town" thing is just negated because of this.

Also isn't Bill all-knowing? I'm off-topic here for what we're going to talk about. But if Bill is supposedly all-knowing, won't he know how to break the weirdness barrier of this town already? Wouldn't he know what would happen at the end of summer, the whole "Bill being erased" thing and plan? And when Stan let him into his mind, wouldn't Bill know it was Stan? The finger number difference thing... But I guess his quote is, "I know LOTS of things." Not, "I know EVERYTHING." ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Also... What is this half-assed job?

Bill could still possibly get in his brain considering ALL the free space that isn't covered.

Also a single metal plate? THAT's all it takes to stop Bill (the all-powerful, Dream Demon, being of pure energy, or whatever else is going on) from entering your mind? Not even covering your full skull?

Unbelievable.

Okay, okay. I guess you could make the point that it has some sort of magical ability. Maybe... That doesn't seem to be mentioned, so it's just a metal plate? But wouldn't it be more useful and safe to install a unicorn hair forcefield in your head to prevent Bill from entering your mind then? They couldn't just find a dimension out of the TRILLIONS that are out there that have unicorns? Really? In Journal 3, Ford says he visited an alternate dimension where the only difference is that the Journals got hidden correctly. A clear example of a dimension with UNICORNS IN IT. And in canon, it says that the unicorns are like... uncooperative? In that case, why not just find a dimension where the unicorns are willing to give up their hair for the good of the world?

It would've been safer considering it's just hair. You would only just need to cut into your head, down to your skull, and put it AROUND. Not actually cutting out a piece of the skull and replacing it with metal (or even at least covering it). I mean it's said that he went under a dangerous operation to get that installed... I just think that you would have to cut around the head and then put it in, then it'll heal over. Or like just put it around the neck to just have this astronaut helmet of unicorn hair magic (like the Mystery Shack with the forcefield didn't seem to have a problem with air... The characters managed to pass through it fine)? I bet both of those options would've been much safer... And wouldn't it be much more reliable? Like the magic of the hair will cover your head up more. Also the fact that it's magical unicorn hair vs. a simple metal plate. What do you think is the clear answer? Like something magical versus something completely physical and Bill is known to break the Law of Conservation of Matter by creating and destroying it. Also if it's known that unicorn hair stops Bill's powers, why doesn't Ford (at the time willing to do anything to stop Bill Cipher) just cover himself with unicorn hair? Like I said, the whole scene where Bill Cipher just turns Ford to gold just pretty much wouldn't even happen. He wouldn't be able to turn him into gold (or use any magic on him or even touch him at that point). Like that giant hamster ball Mabel wanted in Season 1 Episode 2 but with unicorn hair magic.

But let's focus our attention on something a little different rather than this unicorn hair vs. metal plate rant though it is very fun. Let's consider what could've happened if the whole metal plate storyline was still in place (let's say the unicorns are not willing to give up their hair, or there were none they could find, or for some other arbitrary reason). What could we change to make it better? To make it more plausible and more precise? How can we still progress the story to still make sense?

Taking out the reality/logical aspect of it, what about the story one?

Like what could the people scripting this do? Like just saying, for example, this food sucks. Like what can you do to change it? Change out the salt for sugar. What I mean to say is: what to do to make this story better. A critique. And all you need to do? Change out some scenes and dialogue in the last episode. Not say, "Oh my Axolotl, the story doesn't make sense from the start, we gotta twist and bend what was already established." But it is just, "Oh, let's change some scenes in the scripted episode." And I bet that the watch time (because that is also important in shows) would stay about the same.

In the established story, a much more plausible thing to happen is this:

The fact is, Ford and Bill made a deal a long time ago revolving around the fact that Bill can use Ford's body. 

BUT, here's something important to consider. 

(Season 2 Episode 15)

And when the part where Bill tries to enter Ford's mind comes up... This is the scenario that could have happened and would've made much more sense.

Ford mentions to Bill, "You know I have a metal plate installed in my mind, right?" Bill counteracts, "Oh, that? Took that out a long time ago."

And THEN the reason Bill can't enter Ford's mind anymore is NOT because of a simple metal plate, it's THIS.

(Season 2 Episode 18)

This line changes everything. Since time is dead, the deal has no effect because the rule of the deal was that it was, "Until the end of time." And so since the deal isn't active, Bill has no right or power to enter Ford's mind. And the dialogue and story would connect really well here too.

A bit of a tangent, but, meaning has no meaning. The meaning of a deal is to promise something. But since meaning has no meaning... The point of a promise has the meaning of being a mutual agreement... Henceforth a deal has no meaning. And so deals don't promise anything anymore. Won't all deals made after this not have no point at all? Bill Cipher, I just wanna say if you wanna break all rules, you know the literal thing of a deal is that it's a mutual rule. The thing you're most known for contradicts your ideology. I might be overthinking this, but since when did a Gravity Falls fan have not?

Anyway...

Ford explains, "Our deal was that you couldn't enter my mind until the end of time. Time is dead. So the deal is NO MORE!"

After that, the same storyline takes place where Bill needs to make a deal with Ford to enter his mind (but like remake the deal instead of just making a completely new one). Then instead, Stan takes his place, and Bill gets erased. See? Just change out some scenes (watch-time works, and I bet it could have been even shorter than the original (AND WE PROBABLY COULD HAVE GOTTEN THE VILLAIN SONG OF BILL CIPHER)), it's still in the original character and doesn't strive from canon, and like... Seriously.

But with all this happening, I couldn't help but wonder... Why didn't the writers just adjust the story a little? All that was needed was to change some things in the last episode. They had plenty of time to do this. The watch time would barely change. I know that making cartoons and stories is hard (I tried making some myself, never worked out), but still all I'm saying...

The story would've made more sense.

Oh my Axolotl, this was supposed to be a short rant but I can't believe I made it this long. It was just supposed to be, "Why didn't Bill just enter Ford's mind? It's easy." And it turned into this whole thing. I just haven't seen this being talked about anywhere else. I guess people just take it for what it is, or I'm just stupid and don't understand the absolute awesomeness of this plot. I just couldn't stop thinking about that scene from the last episode where Bill tears Ford in half and I just thought about it too hard like "?????"

But all in all, I'm not hating on the show. I still love it and it's still my #1. Nothing is perfect, but Gravity Falls comes very close to it. And that's still a lot. Most shows from the 2010s don't even have such a strong fanbase going on after all these years. What this show did was a lot, and Alex Hirsch is still awesome for everything he did with it. I'm here ranting about this because I just think it's fun.
