Gene transcription is the process of copying a gene’s DNA sequence into RNA. RNA carries the information to make proteins, the molecules that do most of the work in cells. Transcription involves three steps: initiation, elongation, and termination.
Today, we celebrate the marvels of science that shape our world and propel humanity forward. From groundbreaking discoveries to technological innovations, science fuels progress and inspires curiosity.
On this day in 1928, the renowned physicist Sir C.V. Raman discovered the Raman Effect, a phenomenon that revolutionized the way we understand light and matter. 🎉
Let's honor the spirit of inquiry and discovery that drives scientists everywhere. Whether it's unlocking the mysteries of the universe, finding solutions to pressing global challenges, or improving everyday life, science touches us all.
Join us in celebrating NationalScienceDay and let's continue to explore, innovate, and make the world a better place through the power of science!

What a perfect image for today - a space cat! ✨️ @thelatestkate How nicely timed it is for me and in synch with the First Deep Field photo revealed by the NASA James Webb Space Telescope. @nasawebb, @nasa In case you're wondering why the center of this image looks warped/curved - that is called gravitational lensing. This happens when a massive object (galaxies, dark matter, etc) between the lens of the telescope and the view is so large that it bends spacetime and results in warping. Dark matter isn't visible itself, but its effects are. "Spacetime tells matter how to move; matter tells spacetime how to curve.” - John Wheeler 🌌 Thank you Kate for all you do to help others. And thank you to NASA and all other space agencies involved in the monumental launch and success of the James Webb Space Telescope. (ALT text: Orange cat in space with blue and red stars on a daily calendar, it reads "I have no idea what I'm doing, but I'm trying anyway!" The second image of Deep Field View has a rainbow of colors of galaxies, and stars. There are so many types of galaxies, spiral, barred, elliptical, dwarf, and irregular. There are all colors of stars and some bright blue crystal clear massive stars.) Photo credit to @nasa, @nasawebb [Thank you!!!
