DJ Octavio ramblings/analysis/theory???

I'm still mad that DJ Octavio was never given credit for composing and performing the absolute banger of a song that is Calamari Inkantation 3mix all while piloting the ship against Mr. Grizz in the middle of a world-ending event.

Like I get it. He's not an idol. He's not like, super popular among the fanbase, despite having his own rabid fans (I'm one of them).

But it just feels so wrong, knowing that the collective experiences he's shared with the Squidbeak Splatoon finally had him join forces with them, only to be left out of the song HE made???

I know the album has little octopuses all over it to signify his involvement, but I wish we had a proper explanation for why he hasn't been credited signature-wise or verbally.

Best case scenario (for me, because it gives him cool characterization) is that it ties into the idea of him not being as confident anymore. He's failed a lot over the years, lost a lot of his people, and the only recent win was when he actually worked together with the Squidbeak Splatoon that he's been fighting for a majority of his life.

If this is how he actually feels, then the recent DLC, Side Order, could hint at this as well, and portray how he seems from an outside perspective.

When reading the entry for Octavio's Splatling palette, Smollusk basically says that he needs to get his shit together because he's supposed to be a "big shot" Octarian in charge of leading his people, but that implies that he really hasn't tried since the ending of Splatoon 3.

Smollusk doesn't have the greatest understanding of the characters' motives, I'll give it that, but I honestly wouldn't say that it's too far off the mark here. It more or less accurately portrays everyone else, but just doesn't approve of their beliefs or methods.

Using this information, I think saying that DJ Octavio might be struggling to find a purpose could very well be the truth. So, maybe he's not credited because he didn't want to be? Maybe he felt he didn't deserve it? Or perhaps just didn't want to be in the publics' eye before he chose a path to follow? (He has been hiding for a while).

I don't really know, but I hope he's given the spotlight soon!

I honestly think at this point he deserves his own concert...it's not like they have to keep the other characters out either. Have him hijack the show, or do collabs with everyone. Bomb Rush Blush, Tidal Rush, and 3mix are all collabs. Plus, there's the Inkopolis Memorial Mixtape he made, which was basically a love-letter to the entirety of Splatoon 2.

And, out of everyone, Octavio is the most likely to know of every band in Splatoon, besides Dedf1sh, who is now conveniently back among public perception. He listens to literally anything he can get his tentacles on, and it's a real shame we haven't gotten more music from him.

One last thing. This relates to the DJ Octavio concert thing but...

I honestly think it would be really cool if Octavio and Cuttlefish made a song together at some point.

Octavio could do the instrumental, add some cool sound effects, and Cuttlefish could put those rapping skills to good use. Double points if they cover Calamari Inkantation together.

if you're planning to play Baldur's Gate 3 I cannot recommend the WASD and camera tweaks mods enough. I mean if you enjoy the movement in the game as is then fair enough! but I played for an hour or two like that and got such a headache that I desperately looked for any way to change it and was so relieved to find these mods (which are very easy to install). total gamechanger and they create a much more immersive experience imo

back on my timber/berkon agenda and lately ive been picturing this scenario where tim wants to introduce bernard to his friends but isn't that ready to come out to bart, cassie and kon yet so he's like "hey everyone this is my close friend bernard he's tagging along today hope nobody minds" and yeah nobody does!!

bart finds bernard's conspiracy theories incredibly amusing and eggs him on, cassie is highkey surprised at how much info bernard has gathered and lowkey wary because bernard's like... Really Good at gathering clues and shit from blurry footage and drawing conclusions, too bad his mind always wanders off in the wrong direction bcs like he's This Close to figuring out a lot of shit. and kon!! kon!! he just genuinely has a crush at first sight. bernard's smart and easygoing and has good banter and honestly pretty attractive so kon's like... trialing after bernard like a lost puppy. they stop to grab a bite and kon (not so) subtly asks if bernard's involved with anyone and bernard is like "uhhh well there's this guy i like!!" because he's not gonna out tim like wtf but also... he's in a relationship and it's hard to toe the line between being like "yes i love my bf sosososomuch" and not giving too much away. anyway kon kinda bites the inside of his cheek and goes "well how serious is this guy, do you know? because if he's not gonna ask u out then he's holding the line" and tim (who has spent the whole day following after his best friend and his boyfriend stewing in jealousy but unable to say shit about it) is like "OKAY BERNARD'S MY BOYFRIEND HE'S TAKEN BACK OFF CONNER" and he drags bernard out of the restaurant

anyways superboy challenges red robin to a duel for bernard's hand in marriage like a day after and bernard spends the next two weeks holed up in his room trying to figure out why the fuck two vigilantes that up until this point appeared to be best friends are now in an open feud with one another.

The upcoming Salmon Run stage however...Is the last new stage to be added to the mode.

This means our updates may very well be ending around September 2024, which is quite disappointing given there wont be much else new to Salmon Run for the last seasons

And I love love love how much she cares about her family and is loyal to it!!! #It makes her so noble and virtuous. I know she has so little screentime but really the way she's so harsh and in apparence self-absorbed– #But in reality so kind and altruistic... thinking about pirate captain sea and surgeon jimmy like

#like sea as a fearsome pirate captain whose ship gets attacked either by another pirate crew or by the navy #they manage to win but they suffer great losses #one of which is their surgeon #and since many people on his crew ended up injured sea decides to take on a passenger ship hoping to find a doctor #or at least a medicine chest #he gets lucky and does indeed find a doctor (jimmy of course) #and like i don't have a clear plot in mind but the dynamic would be so delicious #sea kidnapping jimmy and being ready to bribe him with a share of their plunder to convince him to help his crew #but jimmy is a doctor through and through and he would never let someone die without at least trying to help them #even if that someone is a pirate #on the other hand jimmy believing that pirates are heartless but then witnessing sea being ready to do anything to save his crew #even following jimmy's orders as sea helped him with each man #and after a while jimmy notices that sea is favoring his left side and having a hard time breathing #so he realizes that sea got hurt as well but didn't say anything because for him his crew comes first #and as jimmy patches him up sea does end up offering him a share of the loot for his services but jimmy refuses because that would make him #and sea laughs because saving a pirate's life would already be enough for the world to consider jimmy a pirate himself #so sea just promises him to let him go as soon as they get to shore #and suddenly jimmy finds himself in a weird position because the crew respects him and treats him well #and it's hard to remember these men are supposed to be violent and cruel when they're just laughing and helping each other's out #WHY DID GMMTV GIVE ME A PIRATE CONCEPT NOW IM OBSESSED #m: txt
