I’m in the mood to take a break from the history challenge and create my dnd characters as sims.

Two wizards and a bard. One of them I haven’t played with, only created because I couldn’t get her out of my head. And she’s the one I’m mostly eager to create as a sim.

We’ll see. I’m so close to finishing my frontier era house so I can start playing… but at the same time…

Fortune-teller's witchy apartment

Hi, my fellow simmers! ♡

Today I’m sharing with you a Fortune-teller's witchy apartment inspired by witches and fortune-tellers of old times. This Sims 4 apartment has a historic Victorian design but I made it feel run down, overgrown and moody.

San Myshuno (The Sims 4 City living)

20 Culpepper house apartment

1 bedroom, 1 bathroom

This apartment is uploaded as a room and it should be placed in the 20 Culpepper house apartment. In order for your windows to change you need to delete the original ones using T.O.O.L

Sims 4 Custom Content Build List

This list of custom content is for the most recent video on my YT channel, where I build the most adorable witch cottage in the forest of Henford on Bagley! If there are any items that I missed please let me know and I'll try to find them! For now I will just be linking the creators pages, and listing which items I used from them, and mentioning some sets.

Also! I wanted to note that I have never paid for any of the custom content that I use, so nothing that you'll be looking for will ever be behind a paywall!

Hydra: book decor, broom, stacked skulls, witchy decor, HP monster book of monsters, potions, laundry hamper, barrels and pumpkin decor

Pierisim: All wallpapers and flooring, fireplace, candles, rug, bathroom mirror, towel rack. The sets that were used: Domaine Du Close, Oak House, Winter Garden, and MCM.

Felixandre & Harrie: utensil pot, oil & vinegar bottles, other bottle decor. I believe all of the items used were from the KICHEN set, but the Orjanics collection (and all of their collections) are totally worth checking out!

Mechtasims: paper towel holder, books, toilet. There are so many items from mechtasims that I use in my everyday builds this build really didn't showcase this creators talent. I strongley reccomend that you take a look at their patreon!! The sets that I used for this build were the essential clutter set, ghibli set, and bathroom set.

Myshunosun: bottles, cutting boards (the famous ones that i feel like every cc sims builder uses in every kitchen ever) mushroom basket, floral decor. This creator, like Mechtasims really didnt get to shine in this build as loudly as they usually do in my regualr build xD You have to check them out!

Pyszny: counters/bathroom sink, hanging pot rack

Syboulette: desk, crystal ball, laundry drying rack. This creator has an Oh My Goth set, which is where the desk came from and it has a lot of matching items that I was uable to include in this build. I was looking through their patreon while making this post and found a LOT of adorable new stuff, will definitely be going on a little cc shopping spree when I'm done xD!

Leosims: skull, geode, potion bottles. Now, most of this creators items ARE behind a paywall, every once in a while they release a free set and I always snatch them up because this creator is TALENTED. The link will take you to this specific set download, but I do reccomend checking out their page for any other freebies, or even becoming a patreon!

Soloriya: witchy bottles/ items. All items used in thei build are from the Sabrina Collection!

Channel4sims: beaded curtain

Littledica: thermostat

Linzlu: witchy hanging effigey (link to specific item)

MadameRia: kitchen shelves. I almost just linked the item but I really think that their patreon page is worth checking out!

ONI: artist set. I linked just the set, most of their custom content is placed behind a paywall, and most of the free items are food/gameplay focused.

Faded-springs: shower. Link to specific item but this creator makes amzing retro styled custom content both for build items but CAS items too!

Moriel: herbal paintings. I realized while making this post that this creator has actually put out a part two of this set, which you can download here.

@persimmonsimmer posted about her ROS and mentioned mine, and I realized it had been a while since I posted my list. There’s been some changes and additions since I last posted it in 2020! And her list inspired me to add one or two more as well.

I compiled this list from various people as well as some of my own ideas. I just do one roll per household each round. Since Brightmaple is only a quasi-BACC and I don’t play with mayors or town funds, I leave out any scenarios involving those.

I don’t use a program for it either, I just keep a list on my iPad where I track all my round info too, and just ask Siri to pick a number for me.

Feel free to yoink any ideas you might like! There aren’t very many dramatic ones because I’m so soft with my Sims lol.

1. Day out - all eligible Sims go to a community lot

2. Movie night - invite friends over for a movie and snacks

3. Picnic - make food and go to a park for a picnic

4. Family reunion - invite over any known family members

5. Movie night - invite friends over for a movie and snacks

6. Blind date - call matchmaker for a single Sim

7. New outfit - your Sim wants a new outfit, go shopping

8. Games night - no homework for kids, play games all night

9. Large pet adoption - get a cat or a dog, Roll dice to choose

10. Small pet adoption - a small caged animal will join the family

11. Grouchy - your Sim picks 1 to 3 arguments with another

12. Vacation time - spend a couple nights away at a vacation destination (or more!)

13. Fitness regime - your Sim wants to work out, get fit and eat healthy

14. Rebellious - child or teen stops doing homework, skips school and doesn’t do homework for 1 to 3 days

15. Date night - take a Sim couple out on a date

16. It’s a phase - a child will only wear a costume for 1 to 3 days and sleep in a tent, teens get a piercing

17. Get back to nature - your Sims spends 1-2 days camping in a tent, grilling out and fishing

18. Party time - throw a party!

19. Friendly neighbour - chat up the next 2 to 4 walk by’s

20. Bad influence - influence someone to do something stupid

21. Take advantage - influence someone to do them a favor

22. Exchange student - host a teenager from a foreign country

23. Tired of cooking - order delivery at least once a day for d4 days

24. Shopaholic - buy something from every business in town

25. Stray love - greet and interact with the next stray you see, try to adopt

26. Old pets, new tricks - teach a pet a new command

27. Lottery win - roll dice 1 to 10 and multiply by 1000

28. Worst fears realized - fulfill 2 to 5 fears in a rotation

29. Secondary aspiration - change the secondary aspiration for at least one round, you can keep it after if you want

(this round in Brightmaple I’ve decided all adults will get secondary aspirations based on @belladovah‘s calculator, so this ROS that used to be “get a secondary aspiration” is now changing to a changed one)

30. Barber shop - change your Sim’s hairstyle

31. Four eyes - your Sim needs to get glasses

32. Grilled cheese - your Sim gets the grilled cheese secondary aspiration

33. Witchy - become a witch for at least two rotations

34. Redecorate - choose a room or space in the home and give it a facelift

35. Self doubt - change aspiration for this round

36. Reconnect with friends - invite 1-3 friends for an outing

37. Make Your Move - try to initiate a romantic relationship with the Sim that you have a high relationship/chemistry with (family Sims can re-roll if they are already in a relationship, romance Sims can buy a love potion to aid them)

38. Scary dare - visit the cemetery at night

39. Dine out - go out to a restaurant to have a meal

40. Close Encounter - get abducted by aliens d2 times

41. Kitchen Renovations - no dishwasher or stove, just a sink and microwave or toaster oven, while you wait for the new appliances to arrive! (D4 days)

42. On the prowl - take a single (or romance) Sim out on the town to pick someone up for woohoo (or teen level activities if that is the chosen Sim)

43. Hobby Focus - Spend at least two hours every day doing an activity for your chosen hobby

44. Brace face - child or teen Sim must get braces for the round

(I downloaded CC braces for this one!)

45. Dye Job - dye hair a different colour for the round

46. Slumber Party - teen or child invites d3 friends over for a sleepover

47. Cool Parent - try to befriend d2 of your kid’s friends

48. Playing Matchmaker - encourage a friend to flirt with someone else

🌞Round 6 - Summer 2 (Part 1) - Summary🌞

I thought it was probably time for an updated view of the neighbourhood. The Hudsons’ expanded farm is at the top of the picture, with the school next door. I did want to place the school more centrally but the game’s finicky lot placement system wouldn’t let me.

The rest of our families live in the main part of town - from left to right and top to bottom we have the Hansen-Wiggins family, the Neetors, the O’Donnells, the Grimsbanes, the Phillips brothers, and the Rossellinis. The O’Donnells’ old house is next to the Rossellinis and the house next to the Phillips brothers has been unoccupied since the start.

The Fire Department is across the road from the O’Donnells’ yellow house, and the playground and park are across the road from that.

Finally, the ‘business district’ is at the bottom right. This is where everyone’s market stalls or shops are.

My Pros & Cons of Sims 1

I have been sick in bed for a week (got tested for Covid and it’s NOT that thankfully!!!) and I’ve got a lot of time on my hands.

I decided to write down what for me, personally, I like and don’t like about the Sims games I’ve played (these are just personal feelings when I’m playing the game)

Starting with Sims 1.

What I love about Sims 1:

Each EP was pretty chock-full of new...everythings!

New skins, heads, objects, interactions, Build Mode stuff...I was so excited as a kid every time another EP would come out, and I feel like Makin’ Magic and Superstar really finished off Sims 1 perfectly. Never felt short changed when I got a new Expansion Pack, it definitely felt worth it!

The quirky, sarcastic, cynical, kitsch style and humor of Sims 1 is great. It’s the only Sims game where I feel like I can really imagine a background/style to a character because there’s so many distinctive heads, skins, and objects to decorate a house with. I can have an obviously spooky/witchy Sim, or a frumpy trashy Sim, a “Lounge Lizard” 50s weirdo etc.! It helps to have a lot of the work done for me, having a super weird Sim face/clothes and crazy objects to boot...it makes me more motivated to play the character even as an adult who tends to have less energy to “play make-believe” haha

The voices are awesome. Honestly, the only Sims child voice I could ever stand was the child voice in Sims 1. The male and female voices are also great (done by Stephen Kearin and the late Gerri Lawlor). Since Sims 1 was the first Sims game I ever played, those two voices to me are synonymous with Sims and I wish they could have returned for Sims 3. (I don’t own Sims 4 so I have no idea if those voices are decent..)

There’s plenty of gameplay and things to do. I love the Vacation lots (except those creepy Mascot NPCs are a pain!). I have fun repeatedly having Sims go to Magic Town, or try their hand at acting, singing, modeling, gardening/farming, going on vacation, Old Town....the atmosphere for all these things is so well developed and helps get immersed in what I’m doing!

The music is pretty fun. Build/Buy Mode, and all the music for Downtown, Vacation Island, Old Town, Magic Town, Studio Town are really fun though repetitive. Even the dorky music from the cheap speakers give the game a lot of character. Pretty sure I know most of the Sims 1 songs by heart after playing the game for 20 years! (crazy to think it’s been that long)

My not-so-faves about Sims 1

I think everyone knows this, but damn the needs bars are so hard to keep all green! It was so hard as a kid to get my Sims to do anything fun since I was so busy trying to keep them full, not sleep-deprived, etc. I definitely play the game these days with a cheat object on the lot to increase everything, just in case I can’t stand getting their mood up...

The game did not come with a great variety of heads/skins for medium and dark skins. Sims 1 changes the colors of the exact same outfit depending on the skin tone, and sometimes it’s a bummer it’s not available for all skin tones. The variety of heads available is also less for the medium and dark skin tones. I’ve had to download a lot of CC to give it more variety.

I’m always bummed about not getting to choose how my Sims 1 kid looks when its born, and that they don’t age up and get to move out. Sometimes i’ll have two sims who have a baby, and once you deal with the horrors of caring for a Sims 1 baby, sometimes you just get a totally random looking kid that doesn’t look like it could be at all related to my Sims! With a spell/charm in Makin Magic you can have the kid grow up, but again, it will choose a random head i think. It was great when Sims 2 introduced more options and the Teen age!

Even as a kid I hated that you were limited to only 2 story homes and just hipped roofs! I always wanted to have shops in Downtown, Magic Town etc. to have at least 3 stories...and sometimes I would have like to have a gable roof or even some dormers! With CC I’ve *sorta* had dormers but it’s not amazing.

I was going to list more cons, but honestly, I think wouldn’t be fair to the game since it’s stuff that I wish was in Sims 1 that is from later games. Things like weather, visiting other peoples homes, owning a business etc.

Sims 1 is always going to be tied for me with Sims 2 in my book, because I never get tired of the humor and amazing variety of objects/things to do! What about you? What do you like/don’t like?
