I love the brand of neurodivergent that’s like “I have very specific ways of doing things and if I don’t do these things in those specific ways I will no longer be able to function in any way and I will have a mental breakdown. But I am horrible at planning and sticking to schedules or anything. So I’m random and sporadic, but there’s my specific things that have to be done specific ways or I’ll cry”

#Examples being. My coffee has to be made very specifically and I wouldn’t trust anyone to make it #My blankets have to be a specific way when I sleep #My clothes have to be layered in the way that it won’t feeel like my skin is being stabbed by a bunch of tiny knives #Small and subtle comfort items are a must. Fidgets or my beanie or my earbuds or a necklace #Clothes have to sit a specific way forme to be okay wearing it. #Bedtime routine has been the same for five years now and I cannot ruin the routine bc then I won’t be able to sleep #I regularly loose my mind when people suggest or do something to ruin my little specific things #Gotta always have two chapsticks but can’t wear hair ties on my wrist #Socks get tucked over leggings bc comfier and minimizes sock sliding down. And leggings always layered under pants unless heat will kill me #Shoes tied specifically #I’m normal.

Shoutout to my brother for not killing me in my sleep. Dad got us a hotel room to share for his wedding reception lunch thing and despite having ear plugs, a fan, a white noise video to listen to, and me trying to stay awake as long as i could so he could fall asleep first, he ended up having to sleep in the bathroom to get away from my snoring which he has described like 'someone dragging heavy furniture across concrete'. A problem I've had since childhood that I have inherited from my grandfather, that bastard.

But we made it through, I'm alive despite being dog tired from only getting four hours of sleep a night on purpose, and my brother shockingly doesn't have a sore back. And we made it to our respective homes safely.

i have a headcanon that neil is the type of person to get really sleepy in vehicles. perhaps it's because they were one of the few places he felt almost completely secure while on the run (it was hard to sneak up on a moving car, after all). either way, between that and just feeling cozy in the foxes' presence, he's very prone to falling asleep on the bus to and from away games

and if andrew lets him use his shoulder as a pillow more often than not it's just because he doesn't think neil could stand to lose any more brain cells from his head knocking against the window with each bump in the road OBVIOUSLY no other reasons

Hmmm as for favorite poem, there's a few I throw out as my top poem with frequency, but here I've got to say The Bridge by C. Dale Young. I just adore its positivity and the way it isn't afraid to be in love with the small details of life. That's just a feeling I relate with so much in my life and the whole poem is SUCH a vibe. Think I called it my idea of the world's greatest love poem in an essay once (which is def A Claim which idk if I'd fully back up now but the vibes are there) because it isn't just a poem about being in love with someone, it's loving everything they do and everything around you and loving just the world as a whole and how you see it everyday.
